Hi All:
Jibbelle I did not reach stablization yet. I cut down going to the center, I just go twice a week now. I am still having trouble with the binging stuff, but I am still trying, I feel like this is the big test, if I make it through this I can do anything.
Jibbelle I hope you are feeling O.K.
Izzy I am glad your problem has been straightened out. Good Luck.
Have a great weekend

Thanks X (joules) for your post--I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question.

Also, big thanks to Jibbelle for your PM--I will PM you back right after I finish up here.:) I sure hope that your arm is alright and you can get it healed up quickly. It sounds really painful.:(

Diane and Arvi thanks for your support. Diane you have lost so much weightttttttttttttttt Gosh I hope I can do that oh me I lost 3.4 the first 3 days then added the purple diet and see only a .4 loss since then Not happy bout that weigh in tomorrow so drinking the water ( have to make myself do that) but may not be able to eat all this fruit. I can not stand those barsssssssss I just cant eat them I went to grocery and picked up some atkins bars and they are only 2.60 each lol lol so much more expensive and too much fat but no sugar in there ate one half and it was pretty good but still just rather have the real food. Never have liked stuff like that or the drinks. So maybe if i have not lost more by tomorrowwwww I had a littel cheat too lol lol so wont do that today Weekends are hard with the boys around here and their junk. I told them last night I will buy your junk but only the stuff that you like and i dont. no more Lays potato chips I cant say noooooooooooo. ha. anyway if I dont start losing again will cut back those fruits on my own Have to I want this off. Arvi you have lost a lot in one week congrats and let me know how your purple plan is doing ok???? thanks Jibbell I am so sorry for you problem gosh I Hope that you get that clear up. Once they get that shard out you will be just fine. take care of yourself.:)

Just came from the center - lost .2. 6.8 total for one week. Not Bad! I'm pretty excited:D
Izzy, I'm having a Luna bar right now - S'Mores. I think it's very good, but then again, I also like the LA Lites (don't like the chocolate peanut butter, but I like the chocolate crunch, and I really really like the double chocolate). Anyway, the Luna bar is very good and the nutritonal values are very similar.
Jibbelle, hope you did well at the doctor's today, and be sure to take care of yourself - infections can get really nasty without proper care!
I have a couple of questions for anyone who may have an answer:
Does anyone have a recipe for scallops?
Anyone know why popcorn is not on the plan? At least it's not on my purple plan. I asked one of the counselors on Friday, but she didn't know, so I checked the nutrition label on the 94% fat
free microwave popcorn. I don't see anything that jumps out at me and I'm wondering if it's not on the plan because they want us to buy their bags of popcorn. I wouldn't object to buying their
popcorn here and there, but the bags are so small! I realize this is a weight loss plan, but popcorn without butter or oil -- why not??

I always assumed that, since no ingredients are added during air-popping, the amount of corn one can have (1/2 cup once a week as a limited starch) would be the same as the amount of popcorn one can have. After all, as long as you don't add salt or butter or oil, it's just another way to prepare corn. :)

Thanks Arvi for the info. I have problems with candy like stuff I really want salty things so that was my problem. I decided to try the drinks instead so I could get some more potassium. Dont want to take that in pills. like the lemonade and those type drinks. anywayyyyyyyy I lost one more pound today at weigh in at the center so that made me feel good because I ate out 3 times this weekend and was worried I had messed it up because I cheated little bit but right back on today. anyway that 4.4 for me so far and wed. is final weigh in for the week. I am also excited. I Hope this keeps working. I got my fast trckers and my frozen food list and those will help lots on the road this week taking a little trip for 4 days so looking foward to being with my friends and praying i can stay on this diet :)

Keep up the good work, Izzy - we can do this!! Glad to hear that you got your Fast Tracker, this is a real handy tool to have. I'm hoping to get a meal plan when I go in tomorrow - they were all out of them yesterday. I have a hard time trying to plan my day's menu and I mentioned this to the counselor and was told that they do have sample meal plans. If you don't have one, you may want to ask. Have a great time when you go away, and good luck with the plan - don't beat yourself up too much if you stray a little bit, though. We all know the vacations can be tough. The secret is to get right back on when we fall off!

Joules, have you used popcorn on the plan without a problem? When you say 1/2 cup, I assume you mean unpopped; right? How much popped corn does that give you??

Does anyone know if there's a "formula" for counting something that's not specifically on the program? For instance, I was checking out some recipes at eggbeaters.com and I'd like to make the blueberry muffins. The nutritional info looks like something that would fit in the program, but I don't know how I'd make it fit. There's also several recipes on this particular website, but I don't know how to work them into the program:?:

Arvi I read that corn is high glycemic. LIke bananas. and that it raises insulin levels thats why we only get corn once a week. It keeps you from using your fat storages cause of the spike in insulin so that might be why they dont talk about it but if you can have popcorn as to theirs then Id ont see why you cant have air popped. I would think that you could count the kernals of corn as to one half less than fresh I read that somewhere but dont remember where maybe have to ask counselor I will when I go back for you maybe mine has answer. As for making recipes those muffins sound wonderful but I am no cook so I cant help much there. hmmm if you can have a McDonalds hamburger then seems like they would be fine. They do have cookbook in the center you can buy for 28.00 so maybe you can pick that up and see whats in it would think you would count that muffin as starch and maybe 2 starches that would be the clicker. Hope you can figure it out. probably be fat, dairy, and 2 starches I betcha. I also read today that Stevia the sweetner that you can pick up health food store is appetite suppressant. It wont hurt you so wanted to share that Its natural sweetner. I Lost another pound thismorning on my scale in fact little over that gosh I am excited The only thing I added was fatty acid supplement and calcium I Like those was tired of tums. I also picked up the orang and lemonade drinks but then read the label when I got home and they contain phenylalamine and read on ask jeeves that that might spike blood pressure I already take one tablet a day for that any thoughts on this yall. Thanks
However so fat I am losing without taking anything or eating anything other than natural food so that is encouraging I have not done this in years I keep wondering what I am doing different maybe I am more aware of what I am doing since I have to pay big moneyyyy Thanks arvi for the info about the menu planner I do need something like that I dont eat like I should sometimes so that might help. Have a good day yall :smug:

Hi,

I'm new to the boards. Let me start off my introducing myself. I'm Kathy, I live in NYC, I'm 27yrs old. I just started LAWL 2wks ago and I already lost 8#! I am so excited and happy cause I thought i'd never get this weight off! I was on WW for 43wks and only lost 10#, it just wasn't for me. I need the strictness of LAWL and I need the one on one attention. Left to do a diet by myself, is only asking for trouble.LOL

I'm so glad I found follower people doing the diet. It's ashame that LAWL doesn't have a message board on their site, we all could use the extra support.

I have a few questions about the different plans, if you don't mind answering some for me. What are the difference between the different colors on the program? I'm on the Gold Program, how does that differ from the purple and blue?

I look forward to your replies.

Hi Kitkat I am on my way out of town but will be back the weekend but wanted to greet you and tell you that I am new also. You have been on it longer than me. I dont know all the differences but the gold plan has less protein than the purple plan and the red plan and the red plan has even more than the purple plan but thats all I have seen. I think the red plan has more calories than the purple plan Maybe some of the old crowd that have been on the diet can help you more. But this is good sight and I have been helped here as to info. so welcome and hope you keep losing gosh 8 pounds is good loss for 2 week I weigh tomorrow and it will be the end of my first week.
I look foward to seeing that scale fall. I am like you nothing else has worked. I spent way too much on ww and other programs I have a library of diet books and tapes so good to see something work for change. Good luck and come in often. We all need each other at this point. :D

Hi,

Thank you for the welcome! I'm so glad to be talking to fellow LAWL dieters. I hope everyone is OP and having a great day! I go for my weigh-in tomorrow, and i'm praying for more great news. This diet is so effective I wish I would've done it years ago!

I look forward to hearing from everyone! If anyone knows more info on the different colors like calorie wise, protein & starch wise, pls let me know.

Have a great day! :dizzy:

Hi Everyone-
I'm soooo glad I found somewhere I can find support from fellow LA WL members. Kathy, I too wondered why they don't set up a chat forum on their site (although the site DOES leave a lot to be desired). Anyhow, I litteraly just started -TODAY!! I actually joined last summer and was so disappointed with the way my center was run and the attitude of the counselors I left. It was so stupid of me but the Manager made me feel like such a failure I couldn't go back. But I'M BACK NOW (30 pounds heavier :() AND VERY DETERMINED TO LOSE IT THIS TIME!!
I'm 28 and tired of putting my life on hold because I hate the way I look! I've stopped doing the things in life that I loved like acting, singing, dancing, and kickboxing because I felt too fat! I'm tired of just having a "pretty face"!!
I have a long road ahead of me (at least 80 Pounds) but I'm looking forward to the reward and I'm looking forward to having your help and support (as well as lending my help and support along the way). Good luck everybody!!

Oh-I DO HAVE A QUESTION?
WHAT ARE YOUR FEELINGS ABOUT THE SUPPLEMENTS. I PURCHASED (AGAIN) THE FB 500, TRIMAX, AND THE CELLUWAY AND WANTED TO GET YOUR FEEDBACK. THANKS :)

Hi Cosmogrl,

Wow, your story sounds like it could've come from lips! I'm so tired of wasting my life away "waiting to be thin again" instead of living now! No more of that for me! It's not easy though, wanting to hide from your world while your overweight. I don't think most people understand that. I thank God for LAWL.

I'm sorry that your original center treated you less than what they should've. Did you go back to the same center? Good luck w/ the 80#. You can do it! What color plan are you on?

I also purchased just about all the supplements they had. I'm so desparte to loose weight and wasn't really familiar w/ LAWL, so I said what the heck i'll give anything a try once. I can't say if they are helping me or doing nothing though, so i'm still taking them. Hopefully someone will shed some light on the issue for us.

Just remembered another question. In my center they say i'm to do the excelerated program 1x a month. What is the difference between the 2day excelerated program and the prep diet? Is that just the samething but only done 2days?

Also, I am signed up for a year and I signed up for all the supplements and stuff; if I have to do the excelerated program is that included in the package w/ the supplements for the year?

Thanks,

kathy

Kathy-
It's so great to be able to talk to someone who understands me. You're off to a great start! I'm at a new center-it's much less convenient for me to get to but the people seem great there. The big problem I had with the original place was it didn't seem like there was anyone who could really understand what I was going through. The Manager actually said to me "I would never let my daughter gain as much weight as you have, you're too pretty to waste your life being as fat as you are...you can't be happy". I've heard of tough love but come on now! I'm happy to say she's no longer there, though. I lost 60 pounds 5 years ago and my big dilema is trying to figure out what is different now-why was I so successful then and why did I gain all of it back? I really hope that having a "diet buddy(ies)"is going to be as helpful as I think it will.

I do think I can help answer your question-The couselor also recommended to me doing the 3 day LA Express plan once a month as a boost. I think I am going to go that route. She even went as far as to reccomend it every 2 weeks but that would be getting really expensive and lets face it the program costs enough as it is. I was intrigued to find that Luna Bars compare in nutrition to the LA Lites-The Luna Chocolate Pecan Pie is awesome!!
I look forward to talking with you again!!

Kitkat3NY
06-14-2002, 12:55 PM
Wow, i'm glad that women doesn't work at that center anymore. I hope someone complained about her. She was definitely in the wrong job! Her job was not to judge but to understand, help and encourage! The people at my center seem a bit snobby but they are nothing compared to what you went though!

I'm also glad to have a diet online buddy to take this hard journey w/ me. I've waiting a long time to loose this wait and I know you have to! LAWL is worth every penny. I've only been there 2wks but I can tell i'm finally gonna loose this awful fat and begin to feel like myself again, instead of the stranger I see in the mirror.

When you lost the 60# 5yrs ago, was that w/ LAWL? What program were you on? Maybe they didn't give you a good enough maintence or maybe life just got in the way and you gained it back. For whatever the reason is, I hope you figure it out so you won't gain it back again.

So do we have to pay for the drink on the excelerated program or is that part of the package deal?

I love Luna bars! Nutz over chocolate is my fav! I'm gonna stick w/ the Nu lites since I paid for them. I buy the chocolate crunch. Have you tasted the carmel one? I think I may experiment today and get that one as well.

Well, I have my weigh-in, in about 1hr, i'll let you know how I do!

Well I vacationed little bit short buying trip with some fun attached and I see a gainnnnnnnnnn so I have to get back on track fast I weigh in again on Mon. Missed Fri. but the food was so delish I did sinnnnnnnnnnn and eat some of it lol. Course one does not do resorts often so again I have to get back to plan. Cos so sorry bout your troubles with center. I had the same thing to happen to me as to courtesy but I had a little talk with them and reminded them whose money it was and things have been very nice since. I do not know much about this excellerated program. I have only been on this diet a week and this is the first time I have done this I am older than you gals but have done all the diets. I think accountablity has something to do with losing and I also need structure. I just cant walk in and be told to eat 1200 calories I would do it all in ice cream or chips and dip. Ha. sooooo there is good reason to go somewhere and face someone and have to show them my little journal i am not doing many of the supplements As to taking some meds that they would interfere with but others on here have tried the luna bars and like them. I may do that too. I just dont want to eat sugar once i start that I dont lose as well so I have been eating sugar as to fruit and leaving off the bars they have 18 grams of sugar thats a lot. So thats my lament. Just trying to get back to it. I did the jet start with no carb diet except oranges and I loved it for 3 days but then it got old so now I am doing the purple diet Low carb also but low fat. I think thats good for us. We dont need all that saturated fat and trans fats and damaged fats as to frying so LA is right on the nose as to that. Some of you might want to check out XXXXXX the supplements are very similar and look like they are cheaper course that is not LA but check it out ladies talk to you soon. ;) Maybe some of the old crowd will check in here and offer some assistance but maybe we newbies can help each other. hope so.

Hi Guys,

Is anyone else on the Gold Plan? I feel like i'm going into starvation mode or something. Does anyone have a general idea of how many calories are on the Gold Plan? I feel like i'm not getting the basic 1200cal. I know i'm loosing weight but I don't want to do it at the expense of my metabolism.

I've been feeling weak and nausea all week! Most of the times, I feel like i'm tipping over and i barely have any energy to do my workouts!

Has anyone else experienced this? Today I just had a planned cheat meal, I had a BigMac no less. I thought the immediate calories would give me a jolt but nothing, now I feel worse cause my body got use to not eating so much.

Can someone pls reply?

Thanks,

Kathy:(

The carmel bars were piloted at some LAWL managers convention and they got a bad review. They went back to the drawing board with them....months ago. I am guessing it will still be a while before we see them.

I have not heard good things from people on the gold plan. If you feel like you are not getting enough to eat, talk to someone at the center...they may bump you up to purple. Do you work out at all? If you do, you shouldnt be on gold anway!

Jibbelle,

I just spoke with one of the people from my center and she said the way I was making my menu, I wasn't giving myself enough food. I'm gonna try to make a new food schedule for myself and see how that does and if i'm still hungry i'll tell them to change me.

I also workout 5-6x a week, cardio, weights and circuit training.

Thanks, for the reply!

Kit Kat sounds like since you are working out you need more calories. Like Jibbell said My counselor said if you work out you need the red plan or the purple plan and she said preferably red I think but not sure but I would ask for change in the meantime add a piece of fruit see what happens with that Good luck. I lost 1.6 today yea yea yeaaaaaaaaa I am so glad this is the first time on any diet in the second week I have ever lost so I am thrilled thats almost 7 pounds in two weeks if I had not cheated on my little vacation. sooooooo I am elated as to the diet so far.

Hi Ladies-
it's been a while but I'm back. I guess I was a little ashamed and discouraged given my lack of will power and motivation! I did lose 21/2 pounds after my 2 day Express plan but that's hardly enought to be excited about. Here I am now going into my 2nd week not following program at all. My best friend is in town and f drinking and eating is such a social thing for me and my friends! I guess right now I trying to get through this week (she's leaving saturday) and starting fresh! The worst part is facing the scale when you know you've GAINED!! I feel like a failure. I'm sure some of you (if not all) can relate to how I'm feeling. How do you deal with the ordeal of having to face the scale and getting back on your feet again? Thanks eveybody!!

izzytolove
06-19-2002, 08:22 PM
Well Cosmo I kind of did the same thing. I joined it and did so good the first week and then went out of town with a bunch of friends also and boy did I cheat. Yep you gotta face that scale. I bought a Tanita that measures in .2 increments and its really keeping me in shape. Its exactly with the center and so I know what I am going to weigh before I get in there. It keeps me motivated. weighing everyday. Cause I know they are going to weigh me every 3 days. on vacation there was no scale so I just pigged out and partied like you did and I was lucky with .8 gain but I want this bad enough to come right back and get back on track like Diane said Its just something you gotta want more than anything else. You can do it

Kit Kat glad you talked with the center they probably know more about all of this than we do havent been on this long time enough to help out. If I get weak I eat a orange.

Hi guys!

I'm almost ashamed to post this, but ever since yesterday i've been eating extremely badly. I think the people at my center would have a heart attack, if they read my journal.

TRUTH-Wed for lunch I had a big mac, fries and milk shake
Wed fo dinner-1 large meat ball and cheese sandwich,
3 scoops of Baskin Robins icecream
Thu for lunch- 1 calzone w/ sausage and cheese,
4 oreo cookies and 1 snackwell
and to be honest I don't see myself getting back to the program for dinner tonight either. I don't know where my drive went? It's gone, I think I should get on the express program this weekend to get serious again. It's like I just snapped and I don't care anymore and I really want to loose the weight.

So Cosmogrl, don't feel bad that your not on program, trust me misery loves company and i'm right there w/ you. I know i'll get back OP this weekend though.

Izzytolove- congrats on the 1.6# gone FOREVER!LOL

Ok...so as long as we are telling the truth here....

I had pizza yesterday and a blizzard today. In my defense, I had surgery yesterday and have just been eating what my boyfriend eats for a couple days. I am going back to work tomorrow and will get back on track. I think I will do either the 3 day take off (with oranges) or the 3 day plateau break over the weekend. I am not sure who well it will do since I am on lots of meds, but at least I will be back on plan. :)

I have already lost 50 lbs so I do not want to screw this up. I have my 10 year high school reunion in Sept and I would like to lose another 20 lbs by then. Motivate me ladies!!!!

Well since the truth hurts might as well fess up too. I went to Walmart to get some essentials and saw this big old bag of Lay'sssssssssss need I say moreeeeeeeee so ladies half that bag in my tummy and tomorrow is weigh in The only prayer I have with all that salt is water water water and no dinner dinner dinner. sooooo Thanks kit kat I just pray I dont blow it and gain the 1.6 back . I have hard time too and all the stuff you ate is my favorite lol lol so it made me drool. anywayyyyyyy I guess we just have to be more disciplined. I have never stayed on one diet longer than a week and I have bought the bookstore out. This is my last chance so I am back on course it only takes 20 mins. to ruin it for week.

Jebelll Glad your surgery is over I think that sometimes when you go through something like that its stressful and so hopefully your arm will be better and the meds out of your system and then you can stay on better 50 poundssssss thats a lot of weight and no you dont want to see it again.

If I were you I would still have some dinner. At least some lean protein and veggies or fruit. You ate a lot of starch, but you still want your body to good a few good foods in. :)

Thanks for the words of encouragement. As soon as I am off these drugs I will be SOOOO happy.

Hi KitKat!

I definitely agree with earlier posts. You should be on the red plan. The first time I did LAWL, I was on gold, and just couldn't stay on it (it's only about 950 calories). Now, I work and out and am on red, and except for the past two weeks during my dad's recovery, I've been able to stay on it perfectly for almost 2 months. The red plan is more like 1300-1500 calories, and *much* easier to stay on, especially when you're working out. Good luck!

Good Afternoon!

MORE TRUTH- I had 2 scoops of Baskin Robins icecream and and McDonalds
Big 'N Tasty w/ fries last night for dinner.
Breakfast today-a cheese danish
Lunch today-haven't had it yet and I don't see dinner being anybetter. I'm so dissapointed in myself for eating like this but everything is tasting so good so i'm not that sad. LOL

I went to weigh-in this morning and I gained 3# in 3 days so i'm back up to 176.8- BUMMER, but expected!

I told them to put me on the 2-day excelerated program for the weekend, so I plan to enjoy today and then focused again, from the weekend on.

Bunny- they told me that they didn't have any plans that were less than 1200cal. Were they lieing to me? Cause you said the Gold plan is around 950cal. To be honest, I wouldn't put it past the people at my center to lie to me.

Izzy and Jibbelle, we are all gonna get our butts back OP by MON! We have to do it for ourselves! It's not gonna be easy but just to know that I fellow dieters here to talk to really encourages me and I want to do the same for everyone else!

Hi Ladies;
I have not been cheating, but maybe because I still have six pounds of cheating to get rid of.
Kathy at my center they said if you do more than five hours of cardio, the red plan is the one that should be followed.
I am on the gold plan, for a while now. I will be until I am finished. I do workout 5-6 days a week but for me it is not all cardio. I have weights and some yoga added in.
Bunny glad you are back. stick with it.
I have a party for niece tomarrow, I hope I behave. It is supposed to be really warm, so hopfully I will stay away from the food.
Have a great weekend

Well, no way to know for sure, but when I was on gold, I would enter my food every day on Fitday. Week after week, every day that I stayed on track would put me in the 900-1000 range, regardless of what choices I made for my exchanges. Same deal now -- when I eat everything on my plan, it's 1400-1500. Since I haven't been eating it all for the past few days, it's around 1350.

Hey out there!

I am so happy! I did gain 3# last week but I went on the 2-day program over the weekend and I am happy to say I did loose those 3#. They measured me this morning and I lost a total of 11# and 7inches altogether!

I AM BACK ON TRACK! Even those there are these BBQ chips that are calling me from the vending machine I will ignore it! Besides it was a tortoreous weekend. I was starving! I'm so happy! I'm hoping for a 3# lost in the next 2wks to bring me to 170#

Izzytolove- congrats on the weightloss, wow 7.4# in 2wks is excellent! WTG! I promise no more Baskin Robins! LOL

dianem1- I don't do cardio 5x a week either. i switch off between weights, and circuit workouts. I've just gonna stick w/ the Gold plan and if I plateau then i'm sure they'll switch. It's a hard plan, but it's work it.

Does anyone know how much more starch and protein you get on the other plans? I know the Gold plan I'm doing is 3-veg, 3-fruit, 2-pro, 2-starch and 1-fat.

Thanks,

Kathy

Kit Kat the purple plan has more ounces of protein on it than the gold plan almost 4 more ounces or 3 per serving its 3 fruits, 4 veggies, 2 protein, 2 starches but the red plan you get protein for breakfast and I dont have that on purple so that might be good for some reason.

As for ice creammmmmmmmm good glad you stayed away from our beloved Baskins' hahahha But let me suggest as to purple diet I can have one ice cream treat per week no fat no sugar I like the Eskomo Pies and they are delish so if your plan lets you have this treat then try those out NOONONNON they are not our beloved Baskinssss but close lol lol do your body good

thanks for the encouragment everyone its always needed

Hi Everyone! It has been ages since I've written. I've been sick with the flu for almost three weeks! I must admit that I'm scared to death of weigh in on Wednesday. I don't think I've gained a lot of weight, but I'm afraid my metabolism has slowed down. For a whole week, I could barely eat one meal, much less drink my eight glasses of water.

Yesterday was my first back on the plan, but I didn't feel like cooking, so I ordered a pizza (uh oh)! I only had two slices, but I'm still so nervous. The weight loss is slow for me already. The last thing I want to do is have to start over. I'm also afraid that I won't lose my goal in the time allotted, which stinks. Other than this, I have stuck to the plan religiously, but it's just soooo slow for me. I know the center will charge me more if I take extra time to lose. I've spent so much money already!

Well, please supply any advice you may have. I am sooo proud of the rest of you. It is encouraging to see how you are doing so well. Please help if you can. I appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Tell your center you were sick for three weeks. I had to leave massachusetts to do a job in New Hampshire where there are no LA centers for six weeks. They put my plan on hold, so I am not using up any of my weeks while I'm gone. They told me that they do this for women who are pregnant or people who go on extended vacations, so why not sick with the flu? Remember, it's YOUR money and YOUR plan. Be firm :) Good luck!

Hi! I'm new here and on day 7 (Gold plan).

I'm getting married in Oct. and trying on dresses was just too much for me. It's stange how different I look in my mind compared to how I look in the mirror.

Anyway, a friend in Boston referred me and now I've lost 5 lbs!

But it is strange how their scale is heavier than my scale at home!

Goodmorning all!

How was everyone's night? Successful? I did want to workout so badly yesterday but it was so hot in NYC that I wound up sitting on the couch watching the tub!LOL Today I will workout no matter what. I know I should get up in the mornings and do it but.........LOL

WELCOME LINDA! I'm fairly new here myself. I'm so happy to have found this message board, it's very encouraging! Also, congrats on your weightloss! did you loose 5# in 7 days?

Joy- I was gonna suggest the same as xYTx, that you tell that you were sick and you didn't use those 3wks. I know they didn't see you for 3wks right? Just tell them you were to sick to call, blah, blah and that you really need those 3wks back. Well welcome back to the land of the living (I get sick often and the flu makes me feel like the dead. LOL) let us know how the weigh-in goes on Wed.

Izzytolove- thanks for letting me know the difference between the red and purple vs. the gold. Wow, they raise protein and veggies but never those yummy starches A? LOL
What is NOONONNON? My plan also lets me have 1/2c ice cream 1x a week. I think I will treat myself, if I have continuous loss at the end of each week. I also believe that was one of the reasons why I went hogwild last week, I was too strict. I stopped enjoying my meals.

I have completely lost my motivation for the past week...I haven't checked in the Message board lately due to my feelings of shame. I don't know what I can do to get back on PROGRAM!! Jibbelle I read something about the 3 day plan with oranges-I'm not familar with that and would like to hear what that consists of. I think maybe I need a boost. The thought of having to wear a bathing suit in 2 weeks should be motivation enough to get me to the center and to the gym but it isn't!! I convinced 2 of my friends to join LAWL recently and they're having negative experiences with the counselors who are HOUNDING them to buy ALL their LA Lites and supplements. Also, I had asked my counselor (who is the center's assistant manager) if I could supplement the la lites with the luna bars because of their similar nutritional value and she said "absolutely not or the program won't work for you". I think all these things have negatively contributed to my lack of will power.....luckily I have all of you to help be my inspiration. THANK YOU!!

Kathy,

Thanks for the welcome! Yes, I've lost 5 lbs so far. Trying on wedding gowns has been very motivating for me.

I've got a big shopping weekend planned this weekend, so that's good, but I'm afraid I'll backslide because the friend who is coming into help me shop loves cheese (and so do I).

I've also got some planned cheats coming up (wine tasting to pick out wines for the wedding, etc.)

I have a question, do you tell your counselors when you cheat?

Cosmogirl, as to the sales tactics, I was talking to my brother about how the counselors always have a smile pasted to their faces and he said they were the same people that sell gym memberships, but it doesn't mean that the gym equipment isn't good and good for you. Ask your friends to tell them firmly that they can't afford to buy anymore right now. I know it's easy to say. (Of course, I went in there planning to buy no more that $100 in lites and ended up walking out with the cookbook and a scale. Actually the cookbook has some good ideas - I think they scored a few things wrong in my favor, but I have only made a couple things so far) Good luck with getting back on the program and working out the Luna bar thing. I might be trying that myself when I go thru the boxes I bought.

Linda :)

Hi Cosmogrl, Don't EVER be afraid to check in w/ us. Girl, have you been reading my post of what i've been up to? Let me just say it's not good. Why even yesterday for dinner I had KFC, 3 piece meal and 2scoops of icecream. I also lost my motivation, but for some reason today it's back on and i'm gonna try to stick w/ it.
I never tell them when I cheat, but I do write down every sinful, delicious food that I eat in my journal and when they look through it, boy do they get a surprise!LOL

Tell us all about it!LOL You know we understand and are probably going through the samething. LOL

I just came off the 2-day excelerated program, but I didn't use oranges, I used the juice. It was ok. But i'm glad it's over. I did loose 3#. I think you should do an excelerated program be it the 3-day or the 2-day. I did it to regain my focus and it semi-worked. Maybe some quick weight loss is what you need right now to get back your motivation.

Linda- good luck w/ the wine tasting and shopping. Are you allowed like 1oz of cheese on your program? Are you on the Gold plan?

Just back from Weigh-in! Not good guys. I know why though. But I gained 3# again. I gained the 3# I suffered through all weekend to loose. It probably was my dinner from last night and the difference from weighing in, in the middle of the day as opose to the morning.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Well, I weighed in last night and had a 1.4 pound gain during my illness. I talked to the counselor about giving those weeks back to me, and they were almost willing...until I told them I would not be purchasing any more LA Lites. Apparently, the lites are a "requirement" for the diet and must be used to fill the contract. I understand that, but I get much better deals purchasing the supplements on eBay in bulk. Since I do have the supplements, we argued until they finally agreed that as long as I'm using their lites, I have not violated a contract. So, they weren't very willing to take the weeks away after this conversation.

The thing that saved me is that when I joined, I had a coupon for four free weeks. At the time, the manager added them as maintenance weeks, but that was written no where on the coupon. So, I argued that I observe the right to use those as weight loss weeks. My counselor is very nice and sweet, but some of those managers are the most anal women I have ever met! You would think that after you pay over $500 in a month, that they wouldn't mind cutting you a break every now and then!

I will admit that my experience made me a little upset at first, but I've decided to use it as motivation. I'll show them that I can lose this weight BEFORE my weeks run out anyway...even starting three weeks behind (I hope :dizzy:) Anyway, I know that God allows things to happen for a reason. Maybe getting mad is what I need to get my butt in gear.

I started this program just one week short of two months ago. With me weight gain, I've only lost a total of 12 pounds. Over 7 weeks, that's pretty disappointing. I hope I can stay encouraged and turn this thing around.

Good morning,

I lost .6 lbs at weigh in, so I'm still going.

OK I'm watching this ad at the top of the screen as I type, "Discover how to make your husband talk after sex ... with Femore!" (they're making a product for everything now!! :?: )

Kathy, I am on the Gold plan, and I am allowed 1 oz of lowfat cheese, but when Amy and I get together we have triple cream cheeses with bread and wine. I'm not quite sure how I should write that in my diary? Actually, I'm still planning on TRYING to stay on program, but...

Have a great day everybody!

Good morning everyone!

Confession time, (God that's all I do these days) I had KFC for dinner w/ 2scoops of ice cream. I've just been going from bad to worse. For some reason I just can't click w/ my diet. But i'm really, really really, trying to take it one meal at a time. I did good for breakfast today, hoping lunch is OP.

Joy- i'm so glad you argued to get your weeks used in the way you wanted them, and to get the extra weeks back that you were sick. Don't feel bad for not loosing weight fast enough, i've been OP since 5/28 and lost a total of 8#. It was 11#, but I gained my 3# back AGAIN! I weighed in yesterday and was given the bad news, but what did I expect from eating the way I have been lately. I just really need to focus on the long term goal. You purchase your lites from ebay? What search name do you use to find them? Are you bidding on these products? How much are they going for?
Also Joy, only gaining 1.4# in 3wks is not bad! You did excellent!

Linda- congrats on the weightloss. .6 is still a good thing girl! At least you didn't gain .6. LOL I hear you about the cream cheese, bread and wine. Sounds yummy! Let us know what you decided to do when the fun evening is done w/ your friend.

Hi Kathy!

When I bid on eBay, I use the keywords LA Weight Loss . This pulls up the listings of anyone who is selling LAWL related products. Basically, I have adopted a rule that my maximum bid will not exceed $8-$9/box. This way, I am still saving money by the time I pay for the shipment (anywhere from $8 - $15) of the products. In the past, I've purchased the shakes for as little as $5 per box, and the bars for $8-$10 per box after adding in the shipping charges.

I hope this helps. Thanks for the encouragement as well! :)
