I LOVE pizza but I have MAJORLY cut back on it the past year and a half.
I think this reduction has really helped me with my weight struggles. Two years ago I would have had it for lunch when the office ordered out, but now I never get it. I do occasionally enjoy some for dinner but not very often.
Also, when i started losing weight 5 years ago I cut out most caloric beverage and switched to crystal light. Now I mostly drink water and black coffee.
What food have you cut down on that has helped you the most in this way?
chocolate (the taste doesn't seem as good)
pork (I loved fatty roasts)
cheese (it just looks like slabs of fat now)
bought bread (it makes my ankles swell)
I don't explode if I eat them, and if I go to a function when one or other of them is on the menu, especially if someone personal has made it, I'll have a very small amount by choice - I want to live in the real world and not be frightened by food - but I don't eat them myself any more.
Cheese. I still have it sometimes, but I used to eat about three pieces of string cheese a day.
Candy. I used to snack on candy at work, but now I NEVER do that.
Eliminated:
French fries
deep fat fried foods
breaded foods, unless I bread them and know the calorie count
Cut back on:
Pizza- it is loaded with calories
Sweets- I still have them, but not as much at one time, before I would just eat 6 cookies, or a couple of brownies- I love sweets
Sauces: have to keep an eye on how many calories they have
Cheese: have to keep an eye on how much goes in, rather than just dumping in a whole bunch
