In order to make physical exercises I decided to start with pilates because a good friend of mine is totally into it. My problem is that I do not want to visit pilates classes because I would prefer doing it at home. Has anyone suggestions regarding an appropriate video or even a good book? Would really appreciate some useful tips. thx in advance

I like the old Winsor Pilates from the infomercial, they are OOP now, but maybe try eBay. I also like Kathy Smith's Fat Burning Pilates DVD, she does a good job explaining the moves. Since your friend is into pilates you can also ask about form pointers.

I have a list of video's that I use from youtube.com.... If you go there and search for pilates it should come up with a lot of videos... my username is mcquays06 on youtube and I have the list of workout videos on my page... they are mostly all low impact because I have a back injury/chronic pain problem... I love them they work great!

I haven't worked out in about 4 months except maybe 5 times. And I have minimal no abdominal strength right now! And I did the Crunch Pilates Belly Butt & Thighs! Holy Cow! There's a 10min segment for each. I did both the Belly Butt and about half of the Thighs because my core is so weak and it works ya hard! But they show u a modified/easier way to do all the exercises, so I'm going to do that video every 3 days till I can do the whole thing all the way through then I'm going to keep doing it MWF when I get to the non modified exercises. I can't wait to feel the difference after a 6-8 weeks of this video! I'm going to do tape measurements every two weeks too! I hope to see a change and keep on motivated to stick at it!
