Default Are you keeping a piece of "reminder" clothing?

I was reading a post where someone was talking about cleaning out their closet and getting rid of all the clothes that were too big for them now, and it made me wonder how many of us are keeping a piece of clothing from our highest weight? I am. They're a pair of cotton drawstring pants (not sweats, more like a light summer cotton). They say they're a size 20, but they're more like a 22 at the end of the drawstring allowance. I can no longer wear them to work because they fall off my butt. I'm keeping them to always remind me of how far I've come!

Who else is keeping a "reminder" outfit or item of clothing?

I forgot to keep a pair of my original size 26 jeans. I now have a size 24 pair that I was keeping. Unfortunately, I grew back into them. But, I like the idea of having some of those before and after pics with me standing in one leg or something like that.

I threw out all of my clothes. All of them.

Sometimes I wish I had taken that standard picture of the person standing in their old pants, but I do not regret not keeping anything. I think that sometimes the things we insist on carrying around with us weigh us down, so to speak...

No way. I've already gotten rid of everything that doesn't fit me anymore. Almost killed me to, THOUSANDS of dollars worth of clothing! *broken heart*

I think I will keep one article of clothing. I want to see that pair of pants become bigger and bigger on me!

Absolutely. I kept 2 pair of pants, one size 32 dress pants and one size 30/32 khakis. I put them on a couple weeks ago and they will stay up, but just barely. I can't walk in them or they will fall down. I cannot wait for the day I can do the stand-in-one-leg picture...of course, I've done that before. I was able to stand in one leg of a pair of size 28 jeans when I was a size 14/16 in 2003.

I kept two skirts. One sized 26 and another sized 26/28. I kept one jacket as well. I got rid of everything else though. Some stuff still had tags on it.

I am so pained when I see those clothes. But I never, ever want to be without them. As I was losing the weight, I would periodically try them on. It was sooo much fun to see how big they were on me. I still can't believe I was ever that big. But I was. And I don't ever want to forget that. Because I know if I'm not careful - I can be that big again.

My "starting" pic is a blue t-shirt and size 26 pants that were the biggest i could find. I'm keeping that outfit to take a picture every month or so, it's pretty hilarious now! My goal is to stand in ONE leg of those pants! I keep the outfit in a bag in the back of the closet.

I don't have any of the old size 24 stuff, I do have some size 14's that should really go.

Perfect timing for this question. I haven't shrunk out of anything yet but i have a fave pair of jeans (size 20) that i wear ALL the time. I am extra tall so i cuff them and they are comfy on me and i like them. I decided just a couple days ago that when i have well shrunk out of them i'm going to make them into a BEACH BAG! My cute little girl friend got a great bag for the beach from her Mom that were made from a cute pair of jeans. Well, MY beach bag will actually be able to hold a LOAD
I think one or 2 items is a good motivator to keep us on track when we are having a rough day but more than that might be a crutch.

I have been giving away my clothes as I lose the weight because I did not want anything that I could go back to. Once I reach my goal, I am going to create a before and after picture and stick on my fridge as a reminder to myself.

I'm a little on the fence on this one. I want to keep one thing to remind me, but I don't want fat pants for a just in case moment. I haven't gone down a size just yet and I don't know when it will happen. I guess that's when I will decide for sure what I will do. I know that I am getting rid of most all of my clothes when I the times comes for me to go down a size or two, even if they are nice, because I know I need to. I do have some before pictures, so I will definitely post those at some point as a reminder.
