just wanted to see if I could get one of mine closed - I've sorted it out the situation myself :)

Renee, I think members can close a thread they've started by going to Thread Tools (purple box) at the top right of the thread and selecting Close Thread. If it doesn't work for you, post a link and I'll close it for you. :)

Mistress Meg :) could you please close a thread for us? I myself didn't start it, so maybe that's why I don't see Close Thread as an option in the drop down box.
