My lunch with a box of donuts
I did say my lunch was with the box of donuts instead of the box of donuts being my lunch. Once a month, the agency I work for has a board meeting where our very important people come in so our assistant director buys donuts from this little mom and pop bakery for not just the board meeting, but for the office employees also. These donuts are not just the run of the mill grocery donuts or even Dunkin Donuts, these are amazing donuts. Well, I managed to stay away from them all day. I even ate lunch in my office's kitchen, at a table beside the open box of donuts and was not even tempted to eat one. In the past I would have eaten 3 throughout the day. They smelled wonderful, two people even came in the kitchen and got one and yet I continued to eat my salad with lots of greens, peppers, broccoli, onions, tuna, boiled egg and almond slivers.
Whew...at least a month before the donuts are back!
