Ok just wrote a monster post and something happened UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I am so annoyed. Ok heres a quick version. Had a bad night last night pizza and no bake cookies. BAck on track today. Had good wknd went to amazing restaurant with b/f for my b-day. Most romantic eve. of my life :) I wish I hadn't lost the post but I reallly don't want to write it all again. However anyone in the Ann Arbor area Grazzi's for dinner and La Dolce Vita for dessert  :T  :T I highly recommend these places. The creme brulee at La Dolce Vita's is amazing along with the choc. crepes. MMM!!! Ok now back to my yogurt ;) So he wined and dined me it was very nice.

Jess- Try yoga before bed. It always relaxes me:dz:

Kt- OUch sorry about the sandal problems but congrats on the 1.4 lost:sheep:

Lexxy- thanks for the pedometer info and I feel your pain with b/f. My DF eats pretty poorly too and loves my body so doesn't understand my need to lose weight. He does try and be supportive thought thank God. I just have to keep reminding myself that this is for me regardless of his opinion I want to be healthier. It is really hard though not pigging out with him.

Jen- congrats on the 5k time. I am impressed.

Angie- What is your major? Oh and good job on the swimsuit challenge.

Stacey I am going to check out your honeymoon suggestion also. How long ago did you get married ????

Kim -Hope all is going well and I sent you 2 emails.

Ok I hope I responded to everyone from yesterday! I will check in later :)

Wow there's hardly anyone around today. But I'll post anyway:)

Went to Red Lobster last night, so I"ll have to be good today. But it was excellent, so I won't regret it!

I majored in Finance, and it's hard finding a job out there. I think part of it is that I live in a small town in teh middle of illinois, and I keep looking in places like St. Louis, Indianapolis, or Chicago, and the people there are more likely to hire people that live around there. Worried about relocation or something. NOt to mention the fact that I have no experience, so I'm going to concentrate on teh area I live for a while, adn see if I can find something here.

Umm... I can't remember all of the posts from yesterday, but HI to everyone.

Grace -- sounds excellent as far as the weekend goes. Don't worry about teh pizza & nobake cookies, you'll be ontrack soon! I always seem to have a bad day every week, but it kicks me back on track for the next couple, so it works out:)

Angie- Looks like it is you and me for now. I am sure you will find something in your fied soon. I know that can be frustrating. I have a BS in psychology and I feel kind of locked into my Social work job right now b/c there is so little out there w/o a master's. I was going to begin my master's in the fall but now that I am getting married I have to put it off a bit. Good luck with the job hunt!

Lets see how can I generate some conversation....... ooh and this will help me too (I am so selfish:devil: )

What are some things that you got for bridesmaids gifts that you really liked or those of you who are married what did you give?????
Thanks I will check back :)

Morning Ladies

Angie - Job hunting is hard work. You have my sympathies. If companies seem unwilling to pay for relocation, have you thought about offering to pay for it yourself? Pricey but it might help you get in the door somewhere. I'm in Indianapolis so if you think I can provide some assistance with phone numbers etc. let me know. I checked the job postings in my company but there were none in finance. I'll keep an eye open though.

Becky - it is frustrating to feel locked into a job isn't it? Re: bridesmaids gifts. The Worst: nic-nacs that are meant to be displayed in my home (odds are not all of your bridesmaids have the same taste). The Best: jewlry for the wedding - my youngest sister-in-law picked out and paid for the jewlry we wore in her wedding - she got bridesmaids that all matched and we all got a necklace and earrings that can easily be worn again.

I need some input from you ladies. I'm hosting a family dinner for 6 on Sunday. I'm planning on making a lowfat chicken tetrazinni but am unsure what to serve with it. When cooking for myself I usually just have a serving of whatever casserole is in the freezer along with a veggie or fruit. Any suggestions regarding an appropriate side dish/veggie - also should I serve some sort of dinner roll - and finally is desert a must?

Thanks!

Winter

Winter: What about starting with a big salad and maybe a loaf of French bread, and serving a simple veggie with dinner, like steamed asparagus or green beans? Dessert isn't always a necessity, but you could do something light like strawberries and Cool Whip lite or sorbet.

Becky: I'm trying to think of bridemaids gifts, too. I've gotten jewelry at wedding I've been in, but I'd like to think of something different. One idea I had was putting together some kind of spa kit for my bridemaid's ... some pretty container filled with bath and beauty stuffs, maybe a gift certificate for a pedicure or something.

Angie: Mmmm. Red Lobster. Careful of those rolls! So yummy, though! I went out to eat last night too and had the southern fried chicken salad. Basically salad with chicken fingers. I ate light for lunch so I think I came out OK.

Stacey: Thanks for the suggestion on Cozumel. I'm also thinking about St. Lucia and Belize. St. Lucia is supposed to resemble Hawaii, where we'd go if it wasn't such a long plane ride away! Hey, isn't the guy supposed to handling the honeymoon planning? He doesn't seem as willing to blow off work like I am to do this stuff!

Hi to everyone ... Jen, Jess, Belle, Tonya, KT, Lexxy ... I know I'm forgetting people but hello to you, too!

Hi there.

The IP just went off to their meeting so now I can hop on. I don't really have much to say today though.

Becky - I agree on the jewlery issue. Then, not only do they have a nice keepsake from the wedding, but they all match. Groomsmen always end up with flasks which I also think is nice. Another nice gift a friend of mine did was a bunch of their favorite songs, including the first dance song and burned CDs - just some ideas. One bride actually gave us all nylons so we would have the same color legs too.

Winter - always nice to have a salad and a roll - people can eat it or not. Dessert not a must but my MIL always puts out a fruit plate with coffee afterwards - sometimes fancy coffee puts a nice touch on the dinner.

Star - I can see where you might have difficulty finding something in your field. But I'm sure you will and it will be perfect.

Where has everyone been lately? Oh well, back to work.

First... I'm sorry for the hiatis. Work has been stressful and was sharing my cube with a consultant for the last 2 months... so it wasn't as easy to go online without someone looking over my shoulder.

I've missed you all dearly and missed all your support.

I've done well while I was away. I reached my short term goal of 145 - but 3 weeks late. Better late than never.

I've set a new short term goal of 125 by my birthday at the end of September. What better way to celebrate my birthday right?

So, just last week I hit my 75 pound mile stone. My leader cried. SHe's so sweet. Of course, this week was TOM, so I gained a pound and a half, so I'm .5 over my 75-pound loss.

Grace - your evening sounds amazing. I have to admit to being a little jealous!

Star - we haven't met. Nice to meet you. I poseted here for a while, but had to take a little break. Hopefully I'm back for a while and I can get to know all the newbies.

Winter - Nice to meet you also. I have a suggestion: Green Bean Almondine. I've never been a green bean girl myself, but I made this last week and it was a hit. Just fresh green beans, olive oil, sliced almonds. Mmmmm.

Kim - I've definately missed you ladies. Hopefully I'm welcome back! How have you been?

KT - good to see you're still here as well. Hope everything's been going well.

Okay - well hopefully I'll have time to post regularly... I'm in major need of support and motivation if I want to reach my goal by Jan 1st, 2003.

HI LISA!

I was wondering where you were. Congrats on reaching your 75-pound mark. WOW!!!! Do you have a new photo? How long has it taken you? I have embarked on a new journey to get off the weight since, if you haven't read the past week, I'm getting married in November! I have eaten OP for 11 days now and I'm exercising. Except yesterday. My arms hurt from doing weights the day before so I took a break. I haven't eaten any fried foods and I'm drinking so much water I'm peeing all the time. I just haven't seen much movement on the scale yet!

KIM!!!

Congratulations!!!!!!! November.... I'm rooting for you! And I can't wait to see the pictures from your wedding! What a lucky guy!

So what is your Novemeber goal?

Great... you'll see results soon, I am sure of it. I'm glad I'm posting again.... I've really missed you girls! I started the WW at 220 on Nov 6, 2000 - so it has taken about 18 months to lose 75 pounds... slowly, but steadily.

I do have some pictures... I'll try and post them tomorrow.

Lisa: If I could have my wish, I'd lose 50 lbs. by Nov. 9! But I know that's not really doable. So I'd like to lose about 30. I picked a target weight of 150, which is 36 lbs away. That's still 20 lbs. above my eventual goal, but hey, gotta start somewhere, right?

I considered waiting on the wedding so I could lose more, but I know that's no guarantee for losing weight. Plus, I've waited so long for this wedding that I want it to happen as soon as possible!

Hey everyone-
Am having a great day today so far! Lots of fruit and veg, and, even better, I have succesfully avoided all the sweets and super-refined carbs (i.e. chips, sesame bagels) that are usually my downfall. Did quite a bit of walking and I am seriously going to try to do some weights tonight, as I've been very negligent.

Kim- sounds like you are doing FANTASTIC! Good luck with it. I am sure you will look fabulous for the wedding.

Lexxy- 2lbs of pasta-aie! We went to a place like that for my roomie's birthday last year and it was nuts. Even the salad had big huge chunks of ham and pepperoni and cheese and stuff. Impossible.

Star- Good luck with the job hunt! Stick with it and you'll find something.

Ok, have to run to the grocery store(literally) for an onion now. Talk to you ladies later!

Sorry about that - I am really excited about tonight's game. Am meeting friends at a bar to watch the game. How ever did I go from being a complete hermit to hanging out in bars on a worknight.

Had a great day at work today. A busy but laid back day - and - get this - I have an interview tomorrow for my dream job. Or at least it is my "at this point in my life dream job".

Lisa - Congratulations. 75 lbs is amazing.

Kim and Becky - I work in the travel industry, and while I don't want to hawk my company's wares, I can suggest a couple travel websites if you'd like. Also, St. Lucia by all accounts is amazing and Belize is the new hot spot.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions regarding my family dinner. I really appreciate it. I've never had more than 1 or 2 people for dinner and usually do something simple. I find the idea of accommodating the likes/dislikes of 6 people intimidating.

Hope everyone has a wonderful evening.

Winter: I'd love to see some travel sites. Bring 'em on!
