I've become addicted to Etsy  I check it every day to see what kind of goodies are available. I don't make or sell, but I've bought some fantastic things such as handmade silver jewelry, handbags, even a gorgeous turned wood box that I used as a pet urn.

Do you etsy? If you have an etsy shop, please share :)

oh man i love it and i'm addicted. i mostly look at upcycled clothes, jewelry and hippie stuff. i have only made one purchase- but it was a good one and i was happy with the item i got.

I'm addicted too. I'm planning to open an etsy shop after our move in late summer. I'm craft-addicted, also and was selling in a little off-kilter shop called funky findz, but the shop folded. I'd rather not go back to ebay if possible (their charges are going crazy).

I have heard of this Etsy.....perhaps I should stay away. The last thing I need is another interest online! Next time I need a gift perhaps.....

I don't shop - I don't dare! I'd be more broke than I am now. I do have a shop there but haven't updated in a bit. I need to get around to putting more things up there

I buy a majority of my daughter's clothes on etsy...super cute, original, and custom made just for her. I also buy all my jewelry there as well as frequent my bath, body, and candle buds :D.

Anyone want to list their favorite sellers? I'll share if people are interested!

Actually, one of my most recent resolutions is to buy stuff on Etsy whenever possible. I don't buy a lot but if there is something I want/need, I check Etsy to see what is available.

I found this site a few weeks ago, I think it is amazing! I really want to open up a graphic design shop. I'm not sure how to go about it yet, but I'm going to start working on some pre-made stuff.

My fav part of the site are the clothes, though. I love the corsets!

I do a majority of my shopping on etsy including Christmas, birthdays, etc. I'd much rather support an indie-business than a big box store any day.

I've bought a couple things from there (mostly Twilight stuff, lol). I just ordered something from there too!! I should be getting it any day now..

04-07-2009, 10:49 AM
I check it quite frequently, because I started loom knitting in November and I like to see other projects for inspiration! I would like to buy stuff on there too, but I am trying to save money!

I've just recently tuned into Etsy. I am in a jam and don't know what handbag I want to buy. I have narrowed it down to 5... So many nice things on there.

I don't have a shop but a good friend does, and she makes jewlery and its priced pretty well. :)

Etsy is a fun place to shop. I have had my jewelry on the site until Janurary of this year. I temporarily closed my Etsy shop due to a death in my family and a serious accident that my son had (both within one week in Janurary).
I make "rejuvenated jewelry" which is new jewelry made from old jewelry.
I am considering whether to re-open my Etsy shop or sell locally, or do both.
I am glad to hear people say that they prefer to buy hand-crafted items as
so much work and love go into them.

I've heard of it but haven't ever checked it out. On my way now. Thanks everyone!

I love your metalwork. I am financially embarrassed right now but I will for sure be going back when the funds are available.
Thanks for sharing!

I love to knit, crochet, sew, and a few other crafts, and I've been meaning to start up a shop at some point. I'm probably going to start up one in six weeks when I get back from Serbia with my family. I'm going to do primarily knit and crochet headbands, custom dog collars (nylon webbing with padding underneath and ribbon on top), and a few other miscellaneous items. Not expecting to earn much money... but a few dollars here and there is better than a bunch of yarn things I have no idea what to do with... or hours of doing nothing but watch tv. ;)

07-02-2010, 04:59 PM
I may look into starting up a shop....I crochet, doilies and afghans, and it would be nice to make a few bucks doing it.

I have a shop at etsy and one at artfire. I used to have one at ebay but they raised the fees too high so I closed it this past winter. art fire store etsy store

I love how nice people are at etsy. They have forums and groups, too.

Ruby, had a look at your stores and LOVE your jewelry!

I discovered etsy a few weeks ago when searching for the perfect ipod case. I love it!!!!!!!! I've been looking for more little extra's to get for my boyfriend for his upcoming b-day. I just found this ( my boyfriend is going to love, since he keeps his guitar picks in a mini valentines day mug his ex-girlfriend gave him. Can't say I enjoy the fact that he still uses it lmao. =\
