Default No longer considered "obese"

It's official - as of this morning, my BMI no longer puts me at "obese" -- only "overweight."

I started with a BMI of 43.6, which was considered morbidly obese!

Now, whether I can lose to be out of the "overweight" BMI, I'm not sure, and I'm not basing my goal on that for now. It just seems to overwhelming. Next up for me is my 10% WW award (I joined after I had lost a lot already), and then getting to 175, which was my goal by the end of July.

That is absolutely fantastic. That was my first goal too--to leave the obese category. Did you happen to have a physical or bloodwork done before your started your journey? I love, love, love seeing how cholesterol and blood pressure, etc. are affected with weightloss. I am sure you already know it but you just decreased your chances of getting all sorts of horrible stuff! Good for you! Ya gotta post pics.

I just got out of the obese category too. I have not tried since then, but I am going to try this week to lose some more. Have you bought any new clothes to mark this acheivement? It really helps!!!!

I agree with sanshir--some fresh clothes is such a motivator to keep going and a great way to pat yourself on the back!

I have to buy new clothes - nothing fits! It's a blessing and a curse.

Of course, I did go from a 38DDD to a 38D. But I haven't had a backache in weeks.

I had cholesterol done a while ago, but not at my all-time highest. In only six months, it went down 50 total points. I don't have the exact numbers here in front of me, but it was pretty impressive.

I am celebrating for you! This is a great achievement and you should be proud. I'll be so excited when I get to post the same news as you.

Great job!
