maybe 16 oz pure water per day, but i drink alot of tea.
i drink more of course if i'm thirsty or have done a hard workout.
maybe an extra glass or 2 on top of that. by glass i mean a tall water glass, ~16 oz.

I stopped drinking soda, and now I generally drink more than 100 ounces of water/day. I do have coffee in the a.m, and decaf at lunch.

I have JUST started and I HATE plain water. I am trying to get in at least 4.5 bottles a day. Adding CL has helped, so i may just stick with that.

04-04-2009, 07:30 PM
none, not one sip.Bad I know.It makes me nauseated.Wish I could fix this problem.

04-04-2009, 07:36 PM
Harris, what do you drink then??

I used to drink about a gallon a day, but since I've been home and not as much on schedule, I have a hard time. Now I probably get just about 64 oz.

:flow1: Harris, it sounds odd, but drinking either hot or lukewarm water may be easier on your stomach if it is making you feel nauseated.

:T JacobnJalynsMommy: if you like lemon, i will often squeeze in half a fresh lemon in my glass of water. it's very refreshing, esp on a hot day, and the lemon is good for you too. Another idea is herbal teas. peppermint or chamomile are good flavors without the caffeine.
hibiscus flowers can sometimes be found at a natural foods store and it makes a really good iced herbal tea. and is a source of vitamin C too.

I second the lemon! I love a good glass of ice water with lemon. At first I couldn't stand just plan water so I would add CL. Then I discovered I like lemon or even orange slices in my water. Last month my dietician told me the aspartame in the CL and flavor packs I was drinking would flare up my fibromyalgia. I was actually having a horrible flare up and thought it was worth a shot. I stopped drinking them and started feeling better by the end of the first week. I bought a britta water pictcher to use at home because I hate the chlorine taste from my tap water. Works amazing. I also did a search on aspartame because I wanted to know WHY it was so bad for me. Apparently it builds up to toxic levels in the brain making you feel bad.

Now all I drink is water. In the past 3 weeks I have only had water plain sometimes I add lemon, most of the time I don't, and 1 diet pepsi and 1 diet coke. I am so proud of myself! :carrot:

80-100 ounces per day.

04-06-2009, 04:39 PM
I keep a 32 ounce cup on my desk and go through it 2 1/2 to 3 times a day. Plus water at lunch and water at dinner time also.

04-06-2009, 04:47 PM
I get in 64 almost everyday but I am trying more.. i add lemon slices and it helps also I like really cold water so I bring extra ice to work and that helps too..

I only drink diet mt dew and unsweetened iced tea.I used to be able to choke down this 0 calorie water called aquacal but I can no longer find it.Anyway its nothing new.I have been this way my whole life.I am never thirsty which has led to chronic kidney stones(because of chronic dehydration) since I was 6.Doctors say its some brain malfunction.LOL....great!

I don't drink very much water as well-I know that to get my water in, I add grape Propel to my 16 oz water bottle. It's like my reward for drinking regular water ;) Anyway, I've stopped drinking as much soda, more water and tea. I think having water not very cold helps as well.

I think the key is that you have your regular intake to replenish everyday loss but then if you are losing weight, you are most likely exercising, and therefore need to replenish even more.

In a perfect world, I try to get in 2 litres each day. I have finally broken it down into 500ml lots at each meal and then knock down the last one at night when I am usually my most thirsty. If I exercise that day, I will add another half to one litre to compensate.

JacobnJalynsMommy - I have started putting a tablespoon of pomegranate/blueberry concentrate into my water sometimes. It just breaks up the monotony.

I drink on average, 60oz of water a day. If I don't drink that, I notice that I am extremely thirsty all the time.

To those who have trouble drinking water, I used to think it was impossible for me to like water. But, now its all I drink less for the occasional smoothie or what have you. I do need the water to be really cold though.

I try to drink at least 64 oz.

04-18-2009, 10:41 PM
So weird, I was just thinking abot posting this question! I usually have 32 oz water, 1 or 2 cups of coffee and 1 or 2 big cups of decaf tea, I think it's pretty close to 60 oz, but judging from all the happy-hydrated folks on here, it looks like I should try to step up my straight water consumption for sure!

I don't track it, but I drink at least 3 big water bottles at work, 2 working out and one before bed. I use Crystal Light packs once in a while because I find water so boring for taste and I don't drink coffee, tea, juice or pop so it's just water now. Worst is on the weekends when I have no routine and I don't drink enough! I feel bloated sometimes if I drink too much, especially while I am working out.

04-20-2009, 12:14 PM
I drink between 2 & 4 litres of plain water, plus coffee, herbal tea, & the occasional diet soda. Usually 1-2 litres is in conjunction with working out, the rest throughout the day.

04-20-2009, 04:54 PM
I'm sure I don't drink nearly enough. Just a couple diet sodas a day, probably around the equivalent of 3-5 cans. I took a week off exercising, though, so I haven't been thirsty anyway. ;)

04-20-2009, 05:49 PM
I drink around 100oz per day.

04-21-2009, 10:09 PM
I am horrible at this...I maybe have a cup or two...but I do drink 3 or more cups of tea.

04-22-2009, 02:03 AM
Hi, I recently increased my water intake, I try to drink 10 - 16 ounce bottles of water a day, in addition to the 2 or 3 cups of herbal tea, as well as the flavored water that I drink daily. Whenever I reach a plateau I increase my water intake and it seems to really help me get pass the plateau.
I have to admit that at one time I really thought that all of the talk from health professionals recommending at least 8 glasses of water a day was hype, of course now I know that it is one of the best ways to flush out fat. :)

04-24-2009, 12:30 PM
I go days without any water, I drink monsters and diet coke. I'm sure that is part of my weight loss problem.

04-24-2009, 12:34 PM
Yikes I'd die with no water- I can't stand the taste of diet coke or the monsters lol.

I drink usually my min 8 glasses, by lunchtime I've already had 3-4 glasses, then one when I get home, then at least 2 with dinner, then one with bed. On hot days I get even MORE water. :)

04-24-2009, 12:45 PM
I wish I couldn't stand the taste of them, I'd be better off.

04-24-2009, 02:30 PM
Hey if we all couldn't stand the taste of food period we'd all probably be way better off lol. ;)

04-24-2009, 02:52 PM
I don't keep track I just try to drink as much as I can through out the day.. I don't have a coke zero until the weekend.. But I feel if I drink to much that I retain.. so it just depends on how I feel but I bet its around 36 ounces a day!
