I induldged in my weakness from the cafe this morning. They are hasbrown potatoes made w/ cheddar cheese & maybe sour cream & then baked all golden & gooey.
I had about 1 cup. Any ideas on the points? I want to use my weekly allowance for this "treat" & stay on plan!
Thanks!
That sounds similar to Cracker Barrel restaurant's Hash Brown casserole nutrition info:
Hash Brown Casserole [7.4 oz] (499 cal/38.4g fat/0g fiber/30.9g carbs/10.9g protein)
I loaned out my calculator, and all I have is the cardboard slider. The fat is off the chart, but seems it would be about 14 or 15 points. Maybe someone with a calculator can give you the exact points.

I ate hashbrowns the last time we went to Waffle House! It was all I ate but it was good.

From
http://www.fatsecret.com/calories-nutrition/cracker-barrel-old-country-store/hashbrown-casserole
"There are 499 calories in 1 serving of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Hashbrown Casserole.
Calorie break-down: 69% fat, 25% carbs, 6% protein.
Calculated Weight Watchers® points: 13 points.
Estimated Net Carbs (non-fiber carbs): 29g."
Now, it doesn't say how big one serving is. My mother makes this hashbrown casserole as well. Loaded in fats. Very tasty. Worth 13 points? Not for me at this point...:(

I counted it as 13, thought it would be similar as potatoes au gratin the the WW point book. Very rare indulgence. Haven't had them since December.
Thanks everyone!

We all have things that we still enjoy as a treat! I have my Cincoshakes from our local "starbuck-like-but-better" shop.. I now order it with 2% milk and no whip cream. It comes out to about 8pts. I only get it about once a week, if I have extra room, if that!
You could also find a way to make that a bit healthier at home.. potatoes, low-fat cheese, lf or ff sour cream.. I bet it would still taste just as good! :)

Hey good idea about making it at home........will add to the grocery list.
Thanks!
Be careful making it at home because then you'll have a whole pan of it, instead of one serving. Even if you lighten it up, that could be dangerous since it's a trigger food for you. Just a thought.
