We can stick with the original Jill- I was back down this morning so most likely it was water weight- thank goodness!!! as much as I would like to count those 2lbs it wouldn't be right ;)

My biggest problem is getting all of my water and exercise- I need more of it!!!! Jill- I like your lil bunnies- I think I will go put some of those in my siggy!
My goal is to hit 200 by Easter! I was looking and I am heavier than I was this time last year- and that makes me soooo sick! I won't be next year! Hopefully I will be near goal!

Hope you all are having a great Tuesday morning so far... first week of our new challenge as one big team again..
I have put my McDougall MWL plan on hold since I drove from Colorado to Cali a couple weeks ago.. but luckily I'm still doing well... I've been pretty busy lately so I'm going to wait until my weight goes up or stops to go back into MWL, but I'm still being McDougall regular plan friendly. :)
I had a root canal yesterday, didn't actually hurt, a little sore today.. the only thing that hurt was the $500 bill lol ;) but oh well, it's fixed. Today I have a dermatologist appointment, hopefully that goes well!

Before I went out of town I was 132.5, but I do believe I've picked up a few pounds on vacation! I'm planning just to weigh on Friday w/ everyone if that's okay... to give myself a few days to re-coop!

I weighed in today and got a surprising 183 lbs. It's surprising, because I've been eating Amy's frozen foods while recooperating from the car accident. Also taking into consideration that I started my TOM yesterday. Overall though, I'm happy the numbers haven't gone up!
Hey all! Jill- sounds like you have been busy- I get so behind in these long threads- but I am going to try to do better this time :) I generally post in the SBD forum on here and sometimes forget to check in here- but I have been good about it the past couple weeks, just a couple more and it will be habit! LOL
Urthwurm- how you feeling since the wreck?
Iris- Vacation weight is pretty much inevitable for me- although, I am going to try my best to keep myself under more control from now on while out of town!
I am having a terrific tuesday! lol, went to the salon today and got almost 6 inches cut off, and the time before that it was 4''! so- i am a stylist who is afraid to get her haircut, this was HUGE for me!

I'm new to the site and I've been a vegetarian for 12+ years. The vegetarian threads seemed like the right place to start. I'd like to know more about the challenges, they seem like a fun motivator. Are you accepting new participants?

I also still need to help out a bit with family stuff soooo I'm not entirely focused on weight loss and don't really have time to dedicate to the forums right now. I hope to join back up once my life is a bit more back to normal!

Kelso.. yes we weigh in every Friday, our final weigh in is May 1st (for this challenge) We are doing a solo challenge this time, the teams were hard to keep up since not everyone always weighed in. :)

Eating fruit daily definitely helps me with my sweet cravings... try to have it early in the day so it will throw off your craving all together :)

Well, I've been hanging in there. I started working out regularly again, which is good. Let's hope I stick with it! We had a big blizzard overnight and as my husband is out of town, I get to do all the shoveling. We have a snowblower that I've never used, so that should be interesting.

Arrrggghhh!!! So as I said before, I moved yesterday and my bf packed the scale. No biggy right? I figured I'd just weigh in this morning...well, now I can't find the darned thing! Lol! There is only one box labeled "bathroom" and it is not in there. It could still be at the old place, but I can't get ahold of him to ask him. I was especially anxious to weigh in because I did so well this week and was feeling especially light. I even survived a bridal shower last night that was catered italian food from Mazziano's! I ate before I went, then only ate some of the asparagus. :) I PROMISE to weigh in at my nearest convenience! Hopefully, I can locate the scale tonight.
JilliNicole It is so great to see you losing so much weight! I remember when you were in the low 170s in Jan when I first came on here. It's amazing that you are so motivated! BTW, my sister lives in Davis and my cousin lives in Citrus Heights, so I am up there alot. :)

Sorry I haven't been so involved!!! The week of the weigh in I had soooo much do! Stressed with school (had 2 exams, 2 5-7pg papers ughh) work, my son (who turned 1 yesterday) so the party planning was stressing me out, my mother...I was just OVERWHELMED!!! But I did find time to weigh myself but I didn't post it!

I avoided the scale on friday and have been doing so... :o rough week w/ too much stress eating for me! I will check in tomorrow and see what the damage is.
I just printed the Chana Masala recipe from vegweb.com so I'm going to make that for dinner - sounds yummy and I'll have leftovers to take to work for lunch!
Congrats on losses (and maintenance too!) this week.
Hey chickies... Tom is here and as expected my weight shot way up. 211.8 for me this morning and that really really makes me sad! But, I have been so hungry and tom being here explains why... I have also been away from the boards and that is really not a good thing for me! When I am on here I eat better and have friends to keep me in check! I need to just post! No excuses...

Sorry I haven't checked in...been busy. I started Eat to Live again today! It worked sooo well for me last time I tried. Hopefully I will stay on track:D
SO, this morning I woke up and my freaking scale is the highest it has been in over a year. I don't understand other than TOM is here and that must be at least part of the culprit!!! GRRR! I am so disappointed in myself for letting it get that high. I was disappointed enough when it got back over 200 but I was hovering around there and this morning it said 215!!!! WTF. I am losing the carbs for the rest of the week and going back to South Beach diet phase one( I have been in phase 2, but cheating some) I know it can't all be my fault because I have, according to the scale, gained 9lbs in less than a week. no more alcohol either- it sets off cravings and binges for me and I know that so I don't need to go near it for a while~!!! OK, sorry for the rant... I can do this!!!!!

JilliNicole The move was exhausting! But at least I was burning more calories. Luckily, my boyfriend moved all the heavy items. I am down .2 from yesterday--143.6. My goal was 140 by today--I didn't make it, but I sure was close! :)

Japan was amazing! I still lost a bit of weight, even though I was eating out everyday. I guess all the walking helped. :)

rdw: Don't fret about it! I'm sure once TOM is done and gone all that weight will miraculously disappear, along with an extra pound or two! My period always plays games with me as well. Just keep in mind that it's a natural fluctuation, and try not to get upset over the increase in number.
I was down to 180.4 yesterday, and up to 180.8 today. I'm hoping that's just a fluctuation as well, perhaps some water weight my muscles are holding on to because of working out yesterday? After all, it was my first workout in almost 3 weeks (since the accident).
UPDATE: Alright, well I've determined that my old digital scale needs to be retired after some faulty weigh in comparisons with clothes both on and off. I've brought in another used scale, non digital, that seems to be reliable. If I'm going by what it says (which I really, really want to), then I'm actually under the 180's!! More like 179 to be precise, which was actually my original April Fools day goal. It might be early for celebration, but I've decided to stick with this scale & it's readings from now on. Hopefully it will be more dependable than my finicky digital one!!

Thanks chics- I am not worrying too much, weight went down a bit today and I am hoping it goes down a bit tomorrow too... sticking around 1200-1400 calories did go eat mexican tonight but I only had a salad and rf beans no cheese... I did have a couple beers but within my calories :)

So, today I was back to my start weight of 209... HOping the scale is kinda gain tomorrow... crazy day at work today., glad to have it over with. Very busy and my calories were super low so I had a nice dinner of Morningstar riblet and a sweet baked potato plain with some plain green beans... and 2 glasses of wine :) ending the day at about 1250 calories! Right on target!

Well lately I have not been going to the gym. Last week I didn't go AT ALL!! :(
And this week I have gone only once, then my son, bf, and I have had the stomach bug. I got over mine much quicker then them. My son turned 1 on Saturday and he has diarrhea since Saturday!!! :( So I have been all over the place trying to care for my 2 sickos!!!
Well the good news is I lost 1lb and my weigh in this week is 221!!!
I am not too excited with it but it'll do and I know in order for me to make goal I'm gonna have to KICK myself in my VEGGIE BOOTY!!!

That is one of my favorite dinners! (only sometimes it's with sweet potato fries :drool:) I understand the Morningstar riblets are taking the place of Gardenburger riblets, which have been discontinued. I haven't tried the Morningstar ones yet, but I have a stockpile of the Gardenburger ones in my freezer for side-by-side comparison when I get a box of the new kind. They're owned by the same company so I'm hoping they didn't change much.

hey everybody, how's it going? Congrats to everyone making progress! I'm alright, boyfriend and i are working things out. I think i'm gonna step out of this challenge and join the next one, but i'll still pop in and see how everyone is doing. My exercise has been good this week and I've gotten back into the habit of writing down my food. i have no idea how much i weigh i havent weighed in a couple weeks and i think i wont until the first weighin for the next challenge. Stepped on the scale and was getting somewhere between 179 and 178.
I think I'll stick with 179 for now though until I can see some real, tangible movement in those numbers!

I weighed in at 139.6!!!!! Down 4.2 pounds this week! AMAZING since I am so close to goal. I was up two pounds last week though, so the loss is probabky some of that. :)

Hello Ladies - I unfortunately gained weight (weighing in at 145 this time) which I attribute to the fact that the rain has kept me inside instead of outside. I do my exercising outside, and tend to sit on the couch and eat when I stay indoors... Boo. I need to get back on track! I want to get to the 130's!!!
Jillnicole- are you on any particular diet or do u count calories or do u concentrate more on exercise or what? What is your secret??

Ami12345.. I do mostly the McDougall Diet, he is a doctor that has a book, it is a very healthy vegan diet.. pick up the book.. it is a little boring but great information definitely!! I started curving the diet a little between the regular plan and the Maximum Weight Loss which is what I did the first 2 months straight. :)

I just got done making this deliciously thrown together meal. It was a quickie pizza since I didn't want to make dough or marinara. I just lined the bottom and sides of a cake pan with a large tortilla, spread a generous amount of marinara, mixed up a fast batch of cheese-less cheese sauce which was then incorporated into the marinara, and sprinkled broccoli & shredded chik'n cutlet on top. Tossed it in the oven for 10 minutes to get the tortilla crisp & shell like, & voila! Italian-style "taco salad". :jeno:

I will look into McDougall for sure! I have been vegetarian since I read Skinny B*tch in September -- it's just so hard to live vegan! Especially with my husband and child around! ha! I am about the same weight. I am crabby so pretty sure I have PMS. No weight loss in awhile. I have been eating fat free Easter candy and laying around. My gym closed last week, so I go to a new one now and it is like going to a dance club compared to my old gym. This one has so much to do, all the bells and whistles, and I look forward to going. I went 5 days last week. I am looking forward to my weight going down accordingly, after that TOM. :)

I just want to say that I rode my bike 7 miles yesterday around the bay and it was GREAT! It's not as physically exhausting as running, so it is more enjoyable/relaxing... I am trying to run 2 days, bike 1, repeat. And after only 3 days of this I am down a pound =) What is everyone else doing for exercise??

Great job AMI!!! That is awesome.. trying to enjoy your exercise really helps, I went and walked on a trail near my house, I definitely need to start exercising more, the only thing I do so far is walk and not even enough.. I'm thinking of trying to join some fun exercise classes after easter :-)

Hey girls,
I'm still at 213. I worked out this week and have been completely on plan but I think the PMS monster is at work. It kind of stinks that I have PMS for a full week before my actual period starts. Is this normal? I seem to remember when I was younger that it only started a few days before.
Anyway, I make hamburger buns from scratch and I baked some yesterday and they smelled SO good that I had eaten 2 of them before I could stop myself.
Today is going to be a bit challenging as well. My sister and I are going to a spa up in the mountains. I'm super excited, but I'm worrying about my eating. I've been to this spa before but it was a long time ago. I think they provide fruit, which would be great, but I also remember there being lots of other snacks (pretzels, chocolate, etc.). We probably won't be done till about 3, then we are going for a late lunch/early dinner. It'll be tricky, but I don't want to stress about it too much.

Well, I didn't reach my original goal of 175, but then again I haven't been exercising. I get really sore now for days afterward. I think that maybe I need to give myself more time to heal, because the little exercise I have done has left my back and knees hurting. I'm a little worried about injuring myself since I'm so stiff. The only downside of not exercising is I'm afraid I won't really lose... I don't want this accident to get in the way of my goals and my ability to accomplish them! My new adjusted goals are 178 for Easter, and 175 by May 1st. I'm going to work really hard to make sure I get there!
On a side note, I had a question. I've been eating mostly vegan, with the exception of small amounts of milk or cheese in frozen products I buy (like Amy's). My family has been a bit wary/negative towards my dietary switch and will often make comments concerning it. I can see their eyes glaze over in horror when I invite them for dinner. Well anyways, I've been battling with the decision whether or not to go pescetarian. I caved last night when I found an all natural wild-caught Alaskan smoked salmon fillet for half it's price at a bargain store in our area (they commonly have organic and all natural food shipments. It's available as they get it though). I haven't heard many bad things (as far as personal health) concerning those who eat fish. My GF and I are debating eating a pescetarian diet that is salmon exclusive. By that I mean that would be the only fish we ate, and we'd get it organic ( or all natural), wild-caught from Alaska. Does anyone have any resources I could exploit about the health benefits or hindrances of eating salmon? If you made it all the way through this message, thanks for reading!

I have no idea what it is! I want to say I just maybe overwhelmed with EVERYTHING but even after they are taken care of I still feel like eating and I mean eating A LOT!!! I always seem to be stuffing my face with something!! Whatever this is I would like the fire to come back and make these "eating temptations" JUST GO AWAY!!!

justhav2try... I have been there so many times. I would just say make the small changes just eat less of what foods you normally enjoy, and try to get bits of extra movements in during the day. Its taken me a long time to lose what I have so far, and its still an up and down struggle. Every persons journey is so different.

I’m at 173.6 this morning. I was expecting worse actually, with the traveling and eating I’ve been all out of whack and the, um, plumbing downstairs hasn’t been working as usual for a few days if you know what I mean.
My MIL tried really hard to make things I would eat for the seder meals, I ate some of the potato noodle lasagna she made the first night even though I knew the soy cheese looked way too real-cheese-melty to be vegan. Checked the package in the fridge the next day and sure enough it had casein. I also found out she put Promise margarine (whey) in all the green veggies. I had to break it to her that the stuff wasn’t vegan when she started pushing food on me the next day, she felt bad. Oh well, maybe she’ll bring her reading glasses to the health food store so she can read ingredient lists next time she tries to shop for me. I really appreciated the effort anyway. After a few days of living on matzah, sweet potato kugel and charoset I’m looking forward to getting back to normal eating!
On the bright side I got my training runs in (5 miles and 9 miles) while I was out of town and I’m usually really bad about exercising when I’m out of my normal routine. Plus I walked almost 6 miles on Saturday between walking my in-laws dog and walking around DC while visiting friends. I expect the weight will balance out over the next couple days once my body gets back to routine eating/sleeping/exercise.

Sorry guys, I feel like such a failure...I weighed in at 145.6! I started binging on Passover (and I'm not even religious!), and haven't been able to get back on. I was doing well yesterday, but didn't banish the bad foods from my environment, so started in with the late night eating. :( I'm sure much of the weight is water weight, so I expect to be much lower next week after I've been back on track. Good luck everyone!
Also, I was in a bad car accident on Saturday, so I feel completely disoriented from that. I just need to get back to my routine and I will do fine. :)

Well, we got nearly 2 feet of snow and I'm fed up!! This should be the last storm of the year, but...that's not how it works in Colorado. When I first moved here I had planted a little container garden on my deck and came home one night in early June to find it had snowed and killed all my plants!
Anyway, I can't play around anymore at losing weight! I NEED to fit into some of my work clothes because I am going job hunting. I'm losing my mind sitting at home. I probably need to lose 10-15 lbs to fit into my work wardrobe and I'm NOT buying anything new.

I've been in hiding. I ended up with a UTI this week. Bleh. I just had my annual pap last week and had my cholesterol checked. In the 4 years since I had it checked last I've dropped it from 202 down to 149! I do need to lower my triglycerides a little but a little extra flax should help.

Oh Ive missed you girls! Ive had a really difficult last 2 months with my Grandpa dying and my great grandma falling down stairs and being hospitalized for a month....Anyway, It feels nice to FINALLY check in here again and getting in on the next challenge again.

I had a pretty good weekend. I did not eat my weight in guacamole on Friday, but I did drink a margarita as big as my head! I really didn't realize how big they were when I ordered it. But I only ate half of my veggie burrito and about 3 chips. All in all I felt pretty good about the night. And I had a lot of fun, so it was totally worth it!

The past few days were just terrible. I think I ate a total of 5,000 calories just yesterday. I weighed in this morning to see the damage, and it said 203. Wow, just wow. I went from 198 to 203 during the weekend.
Today was a much better day. I filled up on fiber and kept myself busy.

My brand new Tanita Solar scale arrived today! I'm so happy to have a more efficient and eco-friendly addition to my bathroom. My other weighing options were a digital and non-digital scale, both over 5 years old. One weighed on the high end, one on the low. Both were cheap-o scales. The one I just bought was a bit more expensive, but worlds worth it! Tanita not only sells personal scales, but also professional ones for doctor's offices and gyms. I've seen the brand several times in both types of places, and have grown to trust it's results. Can't wait to weigh in tomorrow morning and see how close or far my current weight is from the truth!! Wish me luck. :D

Wasn't expecting to see 160-something today, but there it is. Almost back to where I was before I started gaining weight like crazy last summer. I've been working on upping my veggie intake, but I've still been indulging on some junk, just trying it keep it to a more reasonable amount now.
The half marathon is just over three weeks away. I'm pretty excited. I'm also looking forward to doing something other than running once this training program is over. I’ve been fitting in a little yoga here and there, but I’d really like to get back into the habit of going to Power Pump class twice a week. My upper body needs it badly.

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the spring weather! I have been getting out and walking a bit more which has made me feel really great! I am feeling much better after that cold/flu I had last week.

So, I am at the same weight this Friday as I was last Friday. I am not shocked. I have been slacking. I am a total emotional eater. My husband and I have been arguing and he wants to join the millitary and my mother has been staying with us for nearly 3 mths now and my son can't seem to kick his cold (snot face!) and everything is just NUTZO! Anyway, this challenge ends today & I think I actually managed to gain 2 lbs -- I feel like such a failure. BUT... I think we should extend this challenge or start a new one... I want to be 135 by my son's 1st birthday (June 17)... that's 2 lbs a week... that will take some SERIOUS will power and motivation and control! You guys want to keep going? I really want this.

I am down to 139.6 today...7 pounds lost from Monday. It should be exciting, but I have bounced around these same weights for two months now. I have binge eating disorder and will binge, but the weight comes right off if I stay on track. I am really trying to stop. :( I want to be consistent and stay at or below 135. But I guess that puts me at a 2.2 pound loss for the challenge!

Well, I started Jogging so my weight was back up to 209 today- I am sure water weight has a LOT to do with it!!! So what is the next challenge? :)

I'm at 213.5 today. I've been bouncing all over the scale this week! At one point I was up to 217, so I'm glad to be where I am, even though it's a bit up from last week.
Jill-I hope you're feeling better! I've been feeling a little under the weather too. I think in my case it's the extreme temperature changes. We are at 70 degrees one day and 40 the next! Anyway, take care of yourself!

I was thinking about doing weight watchers - i heard it was mad expensive tho -- what do u think about it??
There is plenty of info about ww on here and on the net- but I would recommend at least going to one meeting to get all the tools and starter kit that they give- lots of times they run specials where you don't haev to pay the joining fee- or the first week is only 15 bucks... I would call your local center and ask if they have any specials!

I haven't been doing so well (big surprise). For the past few weeks, I've been having the worst indigestion. Not cool! Yesterday was my worst birthday ever. This weekend my mother told me she was going to find a soy ice cream cake and we'll celebrate it then. Apparently, it's very hard to find a soy ice cream cake in my area. Not cool. I'll probably end up getting a slice of vegan "cheese" cake from a vegetarian restaurant I like.

omg i luv grapefruit~! i'm going to publix 2day to buy groceries -- send me some healthy vibes ladies! i am weak! anyway i rode my bike 15 miles yesterday (with a 20 lb baby boy on the back no less)... but then i had gained a pound this morning...???!!! what is that about? I am thinking maybe it's sodium/water weight bc my fingers feel swollen. i ate healthy yesterday, so i have no clue. whatever. either way i think it will go away. so i am at 146 today.

I was so excited to see those numbers! My weight hadn't moved for a while, and then went up by half a pound! I was so scared that I might go and gain everything back. But here it is, next week and the scary little gain has vanished, along with another pound. :D

wow its a ghost town in here what happened!! I had to cancel my internet and at this moment i'm on a wireless connection but it's not dependable so i wont join the next challenge but i was hoping to pop in and see how everyone is doing. Yesterday was awful i just couldn't stop eating, it was all TOMs fault though lol anyway im back to being good. Does anyone have a Moe's southwest grill near them? I just heard about them and i hear they have vegetarian things! and vegan as long as i tell them no cheese and sour cream. Im going there today!

I've been up and down the same 3 pounds over the last couple weeks. Not sure what's up with that. 171.2 as of this morning.
We have Moe's here but I usually go to Qdoba since it's right across the street from my house. Pretty much any of those "make your own burrito" type places are vegan friendly, you just need to make sure they don't use pork in the beans (black beans at Chipotle are veg, pintos are not).
I just got my shipment of Go Max Go (http://www.gomaxgofoods.com/products.htm) candy bars. My plan is to make them last a good long time, but damn they are heavenly. I have to pay shipping to get my hands on these now, but my co-op is considering carrying them, in which case I may need to practice some self control. :o
Half marathon is 1 week 2 days away, I am freakin excited! :carrot:

I'm at 210.5 this morning which is a pound down from last week, but irritating because I was at 209.5 on Wednesday. But I'll take the pound!
This is the first time I've been able to get onto the site since Tuesday. For some reason I keep getting locked out. Is anyone else having problems? I only have problems on this site.

I weighed 145 yesterday. Then I ate veggie pizza. And candy. I do not want to weigh myself again until I have done better. I feel so guilty for eating that crap! I need to be eating salads and fruit!
