Tejas 03-23-2009, 08:33 AM Good Morning everyone! I haven't got a thing to say yet, but chat away everybody!! beach bum 03-23-2009, 10:16 AM Good Morning Ladies:) Its official I lost 1 lb at my W-I this morning. Now I have to see if I can get out of the 160's.Seven[7]pounds to lose, but it not going to be easy, have to continue eating off the tiny plates along with my zig zaging my calories day to day,it might be doable. RHONDA-Thanks for starting is up this last full week of March. COCO-The only problem I had on the board yesterday was that I had to wait 16 seconds before posting, other wise I would have duplicate post. See you gals later, TechAlum 03-23-2009, 11:00 AM Good Monday Morning All, Sorry I popped in and then out again, but I got sick Wed morning then had the Chemo clinic in the afternoon and was still feeling :p on Thurs. Then felt guilty about what I ate so didn't want to post Fri or the weekend  Anyway I didn't get in my walk on Wed or Thurs :( but I did get in 5 again so that's a vast improvement over the last couple of months. I agree with those who said they like to walk outside, me too. But I don't have a treadmill at home so to not walk outside I have to go to the gym or mall or somewhere else, and it makes it take that much more time. I hurt my shoulder a few months ago and it wasn't getting better, so I finally went to the dr on Fri, he gave me a script for PT, and said to come back in a month, if I'm not better, then we'll talk about other options, I sure hope I'm better by then. On thing I have to do is lower the keyboard so that my arms aren't raised when I type, we'll have to see..... Sorry about the novel - time to go get dressed sort clothes and start laundry, and do that evil housework  (I agree with Rhonda and Sandra). Then when it warms up a little I'll take the dog out for a walk (30 mins.....) Coco, Maryann and Paula - congrats on the losses :D :D Rhonda and Tracie - hope things slow down a little for you. Have a great day everyone. -Tech coco99 03-23-2009, 11:16 AM Hi there Well not going on here. Got jeans in the dryer. Towels in the washer. Then going to get ready to go to town. Have some errands to run. Then go to WW. Not sure how the scales will be today. Keeping my fingers crossed for staying the same. ONTARGET I have also had some trouble on facebook. Says something about line 23 or 82. Dont know what that is all about. TECHALUM Sure hope your shoulder gets better. Hope everything is going ok. BEACHBUM :carrot: CONGRATS on the loss. That is awesome. TEJAS I do the word search books. Well I am going to get off here. Got a couple more things to get done before we leave. Have a great day everyone coco ontarget 03-23-2009, 05:11 PM Rhonda, thank you for the new pages. How is Doyle doing with his dieting? Curtis is doing "so so." I remember a year or so ago Doyle lost a lot of weight by just cutting out starches. Donna, I'm glad you posted today. I was wondering how you were doing. Maryann, keep on zigging and zagging. You're doing great. Coco, I don't understand what's up with Facebook. Do you? Vickie 03-23-2009, 05:27 PM Well, I lost what I gained last week but not an ounce more. So for the last 2 weeks, I have lost NOTHING despite exercising for 5 days each week. Even though the exercise is quite mild, it's better than nothing. I'm quite CRABBY and I told the JC Counselor that I want to quit. This was after a week of dropping the extra starch and being back at 1700 calories and hungry. Now she tells me not to eat the JC breakfasts because they have too much sugar. She tells me to eat just shredded wheat and oatmeal. Of course she could get in big trouble for this. I was SHOCKED because I assumed that JC used artificial sweeteners but apparently not. She added a dairy instead of the starch. So now next week is about 1800 calories with less sugar. She talked about cutting out the desserts/snacks too but we didn't want to change too much at once. Sheesh. I can't even tell you how sad and frustrated I am. I worked so hard. I'll be back another day. ontarget 03-23-2009, 06:40 PM  Vickie. I want to tell you something Curtis says. "If it were easy, everybody would do it." I'm sorry you're not getting the results you need. Just hang in there. I hope this week's change will help and you'll be on your way again. Tejas 03-23-2009, 09:29 PM I KNOW the feeling Vickie...and Curtis is right. Just stay the course...we're with you. I'm sure I've gained over the last week, just not getting on the scale! Rhonda blessedwithsarah 03-24-2009, 08:02 AM Hi everyone. Not too much to do today - get dd on the bus, go grocery shopping and then pick up my car from the shop. Thankfully we have the extra truck to use this morning. I was very over due for an oil change. I'm starting to figure out my Easter menu - having my MIL/SIL and my mom over. There will be 10 of us. I'm going to get in a good hour walk today -- its going to be cool but sunny. Vickie - don't give up! Your doing well.Don't just look at the past 2 weeks but at the 15 pds you've lost already. I think its great that the counselor is looking for non JC ways to help you. Maryann - congrats on the loss!! Keep those small plates going. Rhonda - is it less than 100 days yet? Sandra and Coco - HI Nancy - hope its going well today Tracy -- keep posting! Its nice to see you back. Well, got to run. BBL Vickie 03-24-2009, 10:21 AM Jim has lost 32 pounds on Nutrisystem in 10 weeks. He's exercising for 49 minutes each day on the treadmill at 3.6 mph or something like that. I think he said it's 3 miles. I'm SO proud of him. He said he's sticking with Nutrisystem until his food is gone. He gets two more deliveries so I think his food lasts until the beginning of June. I'm actually worried that he's losing too fast but I don't want to rain on his parade. Thanks for the support. I won't give up on losing weight but I am disappointed in Jenny Craig. I checked out Seattle Sutton and that is high sugar as well. Nutrisystem seems to be the only one that advertises low glycemic index. Well, I'm off to the treadmill since I have company coming at 11:30. I have to tidy up a bit too. coco99 03-24-2009, 11:06 AM Morning Everyone Well not much going on here. Washing son's work clothes. And I am wanting to eat everything in sight. So thought I would on here. And bug you ladies. That way I am far away from the kitchen. I am upset. I gained 1/2 a pound this week. I dont think it would bother me much. But I was afraid after last weeks loss. I would have a big gain. So I was really careful this week. And drank water. And gained. VICKIE I know how you are feeling. But please dont give up. I am in this with you all the way. It is so frustrating. When you are doing everything that you are suppose to be doing. And gain. Maybe with the exercise you are losing inches. I am starting to exercise. Rode my stationary bike 20 minutes yesterday. But boy is my knees hurting today. So far I have only done 10 minutes today. So keep you chin up. Together we will win this battle we are in. ONTARGET I dont know what is going on with facebook. Seems like after they made their change on the home page. Things havent been going right. Maybe that is just me. TEJAS how are you doing. BLESSWITHSARAH Hope you have a good day. Good job on working on your Easter menu. That is what I should be doing. Planning. I know we will have breakfast at church on Easter Sunday. We have sunrise service. And then breakfast. I do have a turkey breast in the freezer. Maybe I will just fix that. BEACHBUM How are you doing. Are you getting warmer weather yet. It is suppose to be in the 50's here today. Then some rain tomorrow. But we sure need the rain. The creeks are getting really low. They look like they would in August already. Hope you have a great day. "HI" to everyone else. Am thinking of you. Well I better get off here. Check on the washer I guess. But have to go through the kitchen to do that. Maybe put the clothes basket in my hand. And tell myself I cant sit it down. See what happens. Have a great day everyone coco TechAlum 03-24-2009, 11:07 AM Good Morning All, Well got some stuff done around the house yesterday. And then even if I didn't want to I took the dog for a walk before dinner. We've been going so often he's starting to expect it  Then had knitting group last night, and again resisted the temptation, but I'm not sure there's much that smells better than fresh baking bread :T Not much planned for today, I think I'm going to lock myself up in my quilting room this morning, DH is doing phone support from home today so I can't make noise downstairs, so the housework will have to wait (sounds like a good excuse to me....). Then this afternoon I'm meeting the folks at the park to walk and I think I'm going to try to join the water exercise class at the gym. I've been wanting to join since we joined a year ago but haven't :o Vicki - Hang in there. You just have to push thru this place. But I do have a question Jim lost 32 lbs in 10 weeks (3.2 /week avg) and you think that's too fast, but you've lost 15 in 5 weeks (5/week avg) and you're frustrated it's too slow???? Do I understand that right? Just a different perspective. Coco - Good luck at WW. Paula - 10 for Easter should be fun. I don't know what I'm doing, I usually host it here, but with DH no can do this year. Hope you had fun on your walk, sunny but chilly here too. Rhonda - Sandra - Bet your glad not to be in MT right now. Looks like they're getting bombed with a spring blizzard after 70s this weekend. Well I should get moving. Have a great day everyone. -Tech coco99 03-24-2009, 11:11 AM TECHALUM see we were posting at the same time. Maybe that is what I need to do. Lock myself in a room. Get out the cross stitch. Finish a couple I have started. And then I wont be in the kitchen. Have a great day. TechAlum 03-24-2009, 11:12 AM Coco - we posted at the same time. Sorry about the gain. But hang in there. As my WW leader said a few weeks ago, there is nothing as unpredictable as weight loss. You think you do really well one week and gain and then screw up the next and loose. Which is really the loss from the week before......Just step away from the food..... -Tech beach bum 03-24-2009, 11:27 AM Good Morning Ladies:) Last Saturday was our 12th anniversary for us moving to the Cape so we are going out to Celebrate at the BBC restaurant. Leo of course is going to have his reg fish & chips I going for a pot roast with roasted veggies and Yorkshire gray piled high on a on a POGG. I'm now on the 1300-1500 zigzag CC. and I find it better than the 1400-1600 that I was on a few weeks ago. Our wind is whipping up again, the temps this morning was 25%,so it back to the old bike riding until the winds decide to subside and I can go walking outside again. TECH-Sorry about you not feeling well last Wed. Leo & I had some kind of tummy virus as our whole town coming down with it.There's nothing to do,except let nature take it course,as it isn't a bacteria so antibiootics wouldn't help. Gee you're ready have lots on your plate hope your shoulder is ok,Nothing like have rotary cuff problems. Thanks for the congrats. How your DH doing with his chemo treatments???TG Leo doesn't have to go for them anymore. COCO-When ever you post you always doing the wash.I going to call you the Laundry Queen!!if that ok with you. Thanks for the congrats up the zigzag 1300-1500 calories along with the small dishes are working to my advantage. SANDRA-Thanks,I think the zig zaging is working also,as it keeps my body guessing what I feeding it. VICKIE-:hug: to you.I feel so sorry about your hopes in JC fell down. You see I don't think any weight loss program is going to give you the secret to weight loss. Remember is a big business that just want your money. I can't believe that the breakfasts are full of sugar.YIKESS!! The only secret I got from them is a small plate idea for portion control.I have fiber that the key for breakfast my cereal, breads muffins are all high fiber foods and they are low in sugar.:hug: :hug:Please dear Vickie, don't feel discouraged & frustrated. You did lose the 15 lbs so maybe you body need the rest.. VICKIE-MEN LOSE FASTER THAN WOMAN,we're build differently. My Leo is not on any diet he just eats 3 meal with one snack at 3 PM and than no other snacking and he is losing, so I decided [the heck with diet plans] to do what hes doing and its working. Of course, I stay on the guidelines of 1300 1500 calories per day. PAULA-We're going to alone on Easter but the Tuesday after Easter my DD and her children are coming up for Easter break. Thanks for the congrats. Have to go,will be back later Vickie 03-24-2009, 11:39 AM It's 10 weeks for me too, Donna. So my average is 1.5. The problem is that I lost the first 5 pounds on Nutrisystem the first week. Technically, I've lost 10 pounds on Jenny Craig in 9 weeks. Not so great. And, it's really the last two weeks that are bothering me the most. blessedwithsarah 03-24-2009, 12:52 PM I'm back. Shopping is done and I just took a 45 minute walk. Its windy and cold but not too bad. MaryAnn, you have it worse today, hope you are not getting the snow squals. I'm sitting here starving! My cleaning lady is just about done - once she leaves I'm getting my lunch. I did fund boneless leg of lamb on sale and the store today. Bought 2 of them and put them in the freezer. I think they are both about 3 pounds. I'll make those and also get a small ham. Turkey breast was on sale as well along wtih roast beef. So, my downstairs freezer is full. I should be good for a few weeks. coco99 03-24-2009, 01:32 PM BEACHBUM I know it always seems like I am doing laundry. I guess I should do it all in one day. But my dryer seems like it takes forever to get things dried. Especially heavy things. So by the time I get some of it done. It is time to stop and get other things done. And then if I do it all in one day. By going up and down the steps so many times. My knee really starts to bother me. And then when it hurts. I dont want to do anything else. So that is why when I work on laundry. I only do a couple loads at a time. Today I have done three. And that is going to be it. Then tomorrow I will finish. My knee is hurting some today. But I started riding my stationary bike. So that is making it hurt also. So I guess I should stop being a baby. And just do the laundry all in one day. Pop the mortin. And go on. But then what would I do if I didnt have laundry to do everyday. Well lets see. Closets need cleaning out. Walls washed down. Drawers cleaned out. Well guess I better get busy. Hope you are having a great day. coco ontarget 03-24-2009, 04:04 PM Donna, you're right. We're glad to be in Texas. I've been out working in the yard today (as most days). Life is good. I went to WW this AM and had a loss. So far so good. Afterwards I went to the farmer's market on N. Main. Rhonda, you know about it. I got watermelon, tomatoes and a bunch of local onions. We had a "country" lunch today. I made some cornbread and grilled chicken to go with the goodies. Coco, my problems with Facebook began when they revamped, too. I don't know what's going on, but I'm thinking it has to be their fault. I have over 20 former students waiting on "friend" confirmation and I can't get it to work. Bummer. Sorry about your gain. Hang in there. Vickie, do you think you will change to Nutrisystem? It might be easier if you and Jim were doing the same thing. I have a friend from Ohio who used to do JC. She's not doing it any more, but she raved about it while she was. I've never done it so I don't know much about it. Rhonda, chug that water. That's what I need to do, too. Paula, I hadn't even thought of Easter. Guess I'd best get in gear. coco99 03-24-2009, 06:02 PM ONTARGET :carrot: CONGRATS on the loss. That is great. I think the trouble I am having is on facebooks end. But not sure what is going on. Hopefully they get it fixed. I know I had people write on my wall. Or what ever you call it. On one day. But they didnt let me know until the next. So dont know. Have a great evening. Tejas 03-24-2009, 06:58 PM Oh, the Farmer's Market on North Main.... I retire in 98 days from tomorrow! BBL coco99 03-24-2009, 09:40 PM TEJAS you know it probably seems like 98 days is forever. But as fast as time seems to be going. Your retirement day will be here before you know it. Tejas 03-24-2009, 10:56 PM Yes, Coco, I'm sure it will go quickly. That will be especially so since they're trying to worry me to an early grave!! DH is not doing much about his discovery that he should lose a few pounds. We'll see how this evolves. But, I'm not doing so great either since I returned from Florida. I think I better wake up tomorrow with a better attitude about this all. It is still cold outside; freezing in the mornings. WHINE WHINE WHINE Ok, I'm going to bed so I can get up more motivated! I think I'll start a food diary thread tomorrow. Join me if you want. Rhonda ontarget 03-25-2009, 12:17 AM Maryann, I've heard of the zigzagging to keep your body confused and heard it works. Vickie, I understand more now why you're upset. Are you thinking of going back on Nutrisystem? Rhonda, they had the best looking tomatoes (but they were from South America.) The onions were local, though. I go through those periods of low motivation, too. Yours will pass and you'll get back on track. Coco, I just e'd one of my former students and asked her to post on facebook about my having problems. She can't get on either. Oh, well. beach bum 03-25-2009, 09:46 AM Good Morning Ladies:) Another sunny day,but its still cold outside so walking is out and either the treadmill or bike will be my means of exercising. PAULA-We had heavy winds yesterday I had to go outside and make sure that garbage cans and secure the BBQ cover from blowing away. No snow :brr: flurries or squalls here. COCO-Sorry :sorry: about your gain,it probably a sodium meal, that occurred. That happens to me all the time. just flush it out with extra water. I really should follow your method of laundry.I do the was on Fridays and I have 3 loads[heavy, colors & whites]and they the I have one day where the really heavy heavy stuff are washed.Leo thinks that one day I'm going to fall down the stairs the way I carry the baskets under on arm and while holding on the banister with my right hand.I guess old habits are hard to break.NO :nono:NO your doing it the right way,by all means continue what your were doing. I'm the one who should realize I'm not a young chicken:chicken: anymore and I should break up my laundry to several days. [B]SANDRA-Congrats:carrot: on your loss,That s the beauty of living in a warm climate you can go to the farm stands all year round. We northerners have to wait for the fresh off the vine:broc::carrot: veggies & fruit when in season.Sure our grocery store have the produce but there not as fresh & crisp as what your getting. I'm believing more & move in counting calories with the zigzag is working for me,even though I over eat while watching the Biggest Loser last night I check my journal and found i was only eating 1000[20p] for the day,and that's not good, can't go down that low so day I'm upping my calories to25pts. RHONDA-You'll get back on track, you have so many things on your mind, retiring, selling your house, moving to Texas is all taking a toal on your live. Just take one day at a time, and it will work out. Have a great morning coco99 03-25-2009, 11:15 AM Hi Just a quick stop in. Wanted to say "HI" to everyone. We are going to work in the bathroom today. Want to wash it down. And put up a new shower curtin. And Hubby needs to work on the toliet. Sometimes it will run by its self. So said it needed something done to the guts. Whatever that is. Guess the thing in the tank. But will wait until he gets done working on that. Before I start to wash down the walls. Well better go get busy. Will be back later. Thinking of everyone. Hope you have a great day. coco TechAlum 03-25-2009, 11:46 AM Good morning All, Ok I remember why I stopped aerobics I am so uncoordinated :o Water exercise :kickbutt: but it was fun, I'm planning on going back on Thurs, some of the women there go every day but Fri (they don't have a class on Fri eve), I was planning on starting with twice a week (Tu and Thurs) along with walking everyday that should get me moving. Plus I'm pretty sure bike weather is coming someday.....As long as it doesn't bother my shoulder :?: Finally got a call back about PT I have an apt for next Tues sure hope it helps. Cool and windy at the park yesterday when we walked so we didn't sit around and talk like we usually do, I think I'm going to have to stop taking our older dog with us, his hips are really bad but his brain doesn't want to admit defeat....I think he'd be happier at home. Cool and rainy today so no dog walking here, I'm going to have to head into the gym and use the treadmill or track. I may use a few of the machines too I haven't used them regularly in a while and not at all since my shoulder. Vicki - Sorry I misunderstood. Your still doing really well. Maybe you should hang in there a few more weeks and see what happens give your body a chance. But who am I to give advice, I've been stuck at the same spot for forever and two days. Paula - Leg of lamb :T :T My mom won't cook lamb though I'll have to do one a different day. Maryanne - Glad the small plates are working for you. DH's chemo is going ok thanks for asking. We'll see what his #'s look like next week, if they keep having to defer him a week they're going to change his dosage, but hopefully this time it doesn't happen. This week he gives himself shots to up his white count and they just tire him out. I feel so bad for him. Coco - That's how I do laundry too, and not because I can't go up and down the stairs too many times, but because I forget I started the wash and so don't move it right away so it ends up stretching out.....Of course I only do laundry every 2-3 weeks so we have lots at a time. Sandra - :bravo: on the loss. I need to start working in my garden. Peas and onions should go out now, hopefully this weekend. And seeds indoors also this weekend I hope. Rhonda - Spring will eventually come I'm sure, and the weather will get better. 98 days  they'll just fly by. I should get moving and get something done. Have a great day everyone. -Tech coco99 03-25-2009, 07:06 PM Hi Well we are finally getting some rain. YEAH!! Well I didnt get my bathroom cleaned and new shower curtin up. Hubby started working on the toliet around 11:00. And didnt get done until about 4:30. And then I was out of the mood to clean it up. I did wipe up the floor where he made a mess. So guess tomorrow I will do the rest. And then we did a no-no today. We didnt eat lunch. I didnt want to stop him. Thought maybe he would get done faster. WRONG. So we did eat around 3:15. Told him I had to have something to eat. So that has been my day. Oh I did have to go and get some parts. TECHALUM I cant do aerobices either. Was wondering about Curves though. But the one that was close to me. They closed. Dont know if they will open it back up or not. And the next one is 22 miles away. One way. So dont know that I want to go that far. It would be different if I was in town everyday. But I am not. So guess I will just pedal. Or gazzelle. Hope your shoulder gets to feeling better. Well I am going to get off here. Now hubby wont be needing me. I will see about getting a couple of things done. They are small things. I am thinking of everyone. coco ontarget 03-25-2009, 08:15 PM Donna, you're making me want to plant veggies. Curtis is talking about planting some in containers. Maryann, we watched BL last night, too. It's prob aour favorite show. I had 31 pts today (using WPA's). Guess I'm zigzagging, too. We exercised 1.5 hours at the club today. I worked in the yard planting a few more goodies before a big thunderboomer popped up. All is calm now and the birds are feasting. Life is good. Tejas 03-25-2009, 10:20 PM What is zig zagging? Higher calories one day, lower the next? beach bum 03-26-2009, 09:01 AM Hi Ladies Just on here to let you know that I never corrected my ticker to match my losses & gains on my siggy. The correct # is 165.5 and not 167 like I thought it was. Have to will be back after breakfast. beach bum 03-26-2009, 10:29 AM Good Morning Ladies:) You're probably confused with the post up above that i posted earlier. Let me explain, I don't weigh in on Mondays Only I have been doing a average weighing in for a couple of weeks now,and it quite new to me. The method is to weigh in every day and total it at the end of the week.Than you divided the total by 7 and you get your average W-I. Well I made a mistake with the numbers and thought 165.5 was correct. It isn't the new number is 166.8.So as soon as say hello to your gals I will change to to read correctly. TECH=Sorry that your out of sinc with your exercising.Sound like you have a good plan.Yes I believe it the small plate & portion control that is making my slacks looser and the scale go down.Happy to here that everything is Ok with the chemo treatment. Leo used to be so tired after he had the treatments. SANDRA-I'm getting a little disappointed in what the show is turning out to be just for rating. But even though its still on my favorite list.I guess using 31 WPA is zigzagging. Its m ore like the Wendie Plan.[LD][SHD][LD][MD]etc. RHONDA-That's exactly whats its all about. To keep you body guessing just all the Wendie Plan is doing with points. ontarget 03-26-2009, 11:11 AM Rhonda, zz is supposed to keep your body from thinking it's starving. I had my Cheerios this AM. Now I have "Goooooooooo Power!" Should be a good day. Maryann, I'm anxious to see what the young man who got voted off earlier looks like now. I hope he's stayed with the program. coco99 03-26-2009, 11:51 AM Hi Everyone I am sitting here listening to the rain. It sounds so good. We really need it. Not much going on here. Had to go to the bank for son. Then when we got back. Thought I would get on here. See how everyone was doing. And now going to work on the bathroom. Since I didnt get it done yesterday. BEACHBUM Maybe I need to use the small plate method. I do use a salad plate. But maybe I need a divided plate. Sounds like it is working for you. ONTARGET I had my shredded wheat for breakfast. Going to have salad for lunch. Not sure about supper. TECHALUM hope your shoulder is doing better. And hope hubby is doing ok with chemo. I know that stuff makes them feel bad. ONTARGET GREAT JOB on the exercise. I would be wore out doing that much. I am lucky to be getting in my 20 minutes a day now. Guess I just have to work my way up. To everyone else I am thinking of you. Have a great day. Well ladies I better get off here and get busy. Be back later. Oh will you all please keep my Mom in your prayers. She has to go for a CAT scan tonight. They are not sure what is going on. At first they thought she had a UTI. So they kinda thing maybe a kidney stone. But then she isnt having all the symptoms. So they are sending here for the scan. Thanks. coco ontarget 03-26-2009, 06:15 PM Coco, I don't work very hard when I'm exercising. I do keep moving, though, so I don't think that's too bad. coco99 03-26-2009, 07:45 PM Hi Everyone Did anyone watch Oprah today. It was about obesity. Boy it really hit home. I sat and cried. Well not much going on here. Did get the bathroom done. Looks springy now. Put a blue daisy shower curtain. Well I ended up fixing hamburgers for supper. That is what hubby wanted. I put mine on a Arnold sandwich thin. The whole grain one. I actually likes those better than a bun. I need to get to the store and get some zero point veggies. But wont get there until this weekend. So I was bad for supper. Had 1/2 a cup of rice. And 1/2 cup of peas. So way too many carbs. And that is bad for me. I think I have some home canned green beans in the cupboard. Will have to check that out. And fix some of those tomorrow. Well I am going to get off here. Go and get things ready so I can watch Grey's after bit. See you in the morning. coco twestra 03-26-2009, 10:30 PM Hi chickies! WI yesterday and lost 1.6 making my total loss 5 pounds. I'm good with that. Three weeks and 5 pounds is good for me. And I even had real pizza the night before wi, but only 2 pieces. I think once a week I am going to have a dinner that I really like, but I will watch my portion size. That way I don't feel like I'm missing out. It might take me longer to lose the weight, but that's fine with me. Mary Ann, I've never heard of zigzagging. Thanks for explaining. Coco, don't get upset about your weight, just keep on following the plan. I gained 20 pounds of my weight back over the last 5-6 months and I refuse to get upset about it. Hopefully it taught me something. Sandra, that's what I do when I do my water aerobics. One of the teacher's are more rigorous than the other, but as long as I keep moving throught out the session I feel I get a good workout. So it must be working for you too. Congrats on your loss! Rhonda, a food diary sounds good. Maybe it will help! Donna, I'm looking forward to biking weather as well. It's an exercise that doesn't bother my knee. I can't walk for exercise so I'm always trying to find an exercise I can do without putting a lot of weight on my knee. Well, you all have a good evening! ontarget 03-26-2009, 10:56 PM Tracie, congratulations on the weightloss. That's impressive. Coco, I'll bet your daisies are pretty. We have Northwest theme in our smaller bath. (Lots of moose stuff) I'm op. I hope the rest of you are, too. Life is good. Tejas 03-26-2009, 11:06 PM Hi All: These last 10 days have just been $(#*%& at work. I hope it slows down soon. But, today, I made a great step toward more exercise. I bought TWO pairs of shoes for aerobics and the tread mill. I have been having trouble with my shoes in that the heels are too wide. The shoes slip on my feet, so I have to tie them too tight which hurts and on it goes. SO, I have new shoes and tomorrow the walking program starts again. I'll let you know how I do....thinking of you all and headed to bed! Rhonda beach bum 03-27-2009, 10:07 AM Good Morning Ladies:) Didn't exercise yesterday and now I'm feeling sluggish, having no energy at all. I wonder if the lack of activity has anything to do with it. The reason that I didn't,was that I was on the low end of calories, but according to the Wendie Plan you shouldn't exercise when you on the low Pts,so I applied that to calorie counting. Hope I was right. SANDRA-I hope so,as some of them go back to gaining again. Other than this board I'm on the Biggest Loser board and I read whereERIC from season 3 gained almost everything back. He says he's about 318 but he looks heavier. It's sad that he gained the weight back.So I guess we're all in the same boat, especially after we hit are goal and trying to stay on the maintenance plan WOE is the hardest and if you don't watch continuously if could happen to any one. COCO-Oh Coco, sorry about your mom,she will be on my prayer list.I think your doing fine with a salad plate,I use the 3 section because it easier for me to see the portions, once I know what a portion should look like I will go back to my salad plate. TRACIE-Big Congrats on your:carrot:1.6 lb:carrot: weight loss.and a total of 5 lbs to boot. When I went to WW I never reached a 5 lbs total neither on the flex or the core plan.Your plan of one day of eating what you want,is a good plan, remember we have to watch calories or points for a lifetime. I finding zigzagging on calorie counting is working for me. My range is 1300=1500 calories. RHONDA-So happy to hear 10 more day to your retirement life, it the best when you can do what you want, when you want and no boss to object. The only thing you need to stay healthy. Have a great morning, TechAlum 03-27-2009, 10:29 AM Good Morning All, Didn't post yesterday because I had a fight with a skein of yarn and it took 3 times as long as it should have to roll it into a ball  So it used up most of my free time. Fell off plan Wed, just plain went on a carb binge, didn't do too much better yesterday but at least it was within reasonable points. Guess I'm zigzagging to. Today will have to be better. Didn't get my walk in Wed, but I did get it in yesterday, although I tripped and fell and now my knee's bruised (if its not one thing its another). Then I went to water exercise, they have a different teacher each night and the one yesterday had some of the most muscular thighs I'd ever seen on a woman. I'm thinking those aren't swimmer thighs. After class she mentioned that she had just started teaching water her main class is spinning. I said well that explains the thighs. I told her I was working up to a spinning class since when I ride I ride moderately for distance not spinning speed, she said I should stop in even if for only 15-20 mins. I don't know we'll see. Tracie - :congrat: on the loss. That's great, hopefully I'll loose tomorrow. Sandra - I love the veggies come late summer, we don't plant a lot, beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, peas, tomoteas (sp?), and this year dh wants to plant peppers again we used to but had some kind of bug he's hoping its gone now, and my dad bought too many onions so my mom is giving me some of them need to get them in soon. I started with one tomato plant in a container and my garden has grown from there, now we have 2 4x6 raised beds. Maryanne - I also watch BL but we tape it, DH and I get annoyed with some (most) of the drama so we can FF thru it, usually we watch the 2 hr show in about an hour to hour and fifteen. Haven't watched this weeks yet, maybe tonight. Coco - I watched Oprah yesterday too, it was pretty sad. All I kept thinking was "there but for the grace of god....." How did your moms CAT scan go? Hope everything's ok. Rhonda - hope things slow down at work for you some. Remember how few days you have left. Yea on the new shoes, proper workout gear is important. Sorry this turned into a novel again. Have a great day everyone. -Tech coco99 03-27-2009, 10:52 AM Hi Everyone Sun is trying to shine. And the fog is lifting. Was awful foggy here this morning. Couldnt even see the neighbors. TECHALUM We had a elderly lady that use to live by us growing up. And she would hate it when her yarn got all messed up. My sisters and I would wrap balls of yarn for her. But she didnt like mine. Said they were too hard. Hope your knee is ok. BEACHBUM Thanks for the prayers for my Mom. She got through the test ok. But now just have to wait for the results. Guess she will get them sometime next week. You know. I have been noticing that if I dont exercise just a little. I feel sluggish. I am only getting in 20 minutes a day. But I can tell when I dont. Hope you have a great day. ONTARGET We have only one bath. And it is small. Son liked the rugs I put down. They are just dark blue. But match the blue in the curtain. But I see one problem with the rugs. All lint is going to show. So not much going here today. TWESTRA :carrot: CONGRATS ON THE LOSS. That is great. Hope the scales go down for me next week. They went up 1/2 a pound this week. TEJAS I have the same problem with shoes. I have a wide feet. And to get them to fit across the middle. Most times they are too big in the heel. And sometimes when I walk too much get blisters. Then I dont want to walk. Sometimes I get heel pads and put in my shoes. They help some. Hopefully when I can get some weight off. It will come off in my feet too. And I can get shoes to fit. So kinda Know what you are going through with the shoes. BLESSEDWITHSARA. Hope you are doing ok. Have a great day. Well I better get off here. Need to get a few things done. Not sure what all. But something. Will be back later. coco ontarget 03-27-2009, 01:22 PM Maryann, would you pm me the url for the Biggest Loser Board? I'd like to go see what's on it. Rhonda, I hope you're having a better day. TGIF, right? Good for you on the new shoes. That'll make a big difference for you. Donna, now you have me hungry for fresh veggies. We need to plant onions, too. Got to go. The timer just went off. Lunch is ready. Tejas 03-27-2009, 01:55 PM Hi All: I stayed home this morning and went to get my hair cut. I feel lighter and springer. Less hair, new shoes and the sunshine have done the trick. I'm going to start today with adding more blocks to my walking. Maryann I wish it were only 10 days...you missed a zero! But, as of today it's only 96. I'm changing my ticker daily for the big countdown. A retirement gift to myself is pottery lessons: I start Monday night. I did take lessons about 35 years ago. Wow, so long ago! Anyway, I need something other than work, house repairs, sadness over Jake and cold weather. So, it will be pottery. I made another good soup: FF, reduce salt chicken broth Diced tomatoes 1 can of drained, rinsed red kidney beans onions and green peppers small shrimp salt and pepper Just cooked together in a soup pot. Of course, you have to like shrimp. If you don't any other meat would do. COCO, I'm thinking about your mom. I didn't see the Oprah show. I'll see if it is on her website. Tech, just hang in there. You've had a rough winter, and I bet you get right back on track with the spring coming. Tracie, 3 weeks and 5 pounds is very good. Congratulations. I've got to go to the office now. Faculty meeting this afternoon. By the way, the funding at the University of Toronto is abysmal, but we all keep working like crazy. No money but amazingly high teaching scores and research output. For 20 years we have been underfunded, and now it just gets worse with the downturn. No wonder we are all tired. But, we're happy to have jobs we like, teaching students we also like. Rhonda ontarget 03-27-2009, 07:31 PM Rhonda, I like your upbeat attitude. I know your faculty and students are going to miss you when you retire. And your hair? I'll bet it's cute and spunky. Just finished dinner. I've used 3 WPA's today so far. Couldn't help it. The cornbread made me do it. coco99 03-27-2009, 09:24 PM Hi Everyone I just wanted to check in for a few. Not much going on here. Didnt do much today. Did sort through some papers and threw some away. Will have to do some another day also. Well I am going to get off here. Hope everyone had a great day. Mine was so-so. Fall off the wagon. Now I have to get back on. Again. Be back tomorrow. Night coco Tejas 03-27-2009, 09:56 PM Coco, I'm the paper throwing out queen these days. I'll come over and help you out. Sandra, you know that cornbread is so naughty! Well, I had a TINY slice of quiche with my soup tonight. DH had a HUGE slice to save me from myself  ontarget 03-27-2009, 11:59 PM Rhonda, I had 6 more WPA's. I had planned not to use many this week but ........ Life goes on. Coco, hop back on. I'm doing the same. Vickie 03-28-2009, 11:30 AM Good Morning Chicks! It's a dreary day here today and we are preparing for our last blast of Winter with a couple of inches of snow overnight. Jim is out getting some fresh veggies so that we can skip the driving experience tomorrow morning. The scale has still NOT budged one iota for me this week. I'm praying that miraculously the weight comes off before my weigh in on Monday. I've done stuff that I've NEVER done before to try and get the scale moving again in the right direction. One might say that I'm obsessed. I'm logging everything into FitDay and making sure that I don't go over the 1700 to 1800 calorie mark. I've even entered all the JC food. I've exercised for 3 days already this week and will walk today and tomorrow. My carb ratio is a bit high; average 59% which seems a bit high except when you consider all the fruits and veggies that I'm eating. Except for the tiny JC entrees, I'm eating real close to Core. This is why I love Core so much because I HATE to be doing all this fussing. I guess we'll see what happens on Monday. I hope you are all doing well. beach bum 03-28-2009, 11:44 AM Good Morning Ladies:) Nothing new here except that's its going to be another lazy day for me as I'm still feeling sluggish.Going to take some of Leo's Ensure to get my energy back. Last week I used a lot of WPA's and had planned not to do that this week but looks like I"m using them anyway. I'll find out Tuesday if I have a loss. Coco, how are you doing? Are you on that wagon? Vickie 03-28-2009, 01:02 PM Thanks, Sandra. Tejas 03-28-2009, 01:32 PM Hang in, Vickie. The carbs do seem high, a bit. I think WW is supposed to be 50% carbs, 30% fat and 20% protein. Your diligence is going to pay off. We have an absolutely beautiful day here, almost 60F. I've done my grocery shopping and am meeting a friend for coffee at 2PM. I'll combine that with a long walk. Then, we will do some work around the house. I might even have time to do some raking away of the winter mess!! Maryann: I'm making my soups as I clean the 'fridge. Have a great afternoon everyone. BBL, Rhonda TechAlum 03-28-2009, 02:23 PM Hello Everyone, Well I went to WW and lost 2 lbs :D I'm pretty happy, now if I can loose (anything) next week and make it 2 weeks in a row I will be ecstatic. I updated my sig to say I've already walked today, which I haven't but will as soon as I sign off so I'm counting ahead. That makes 6 times this week I'm really happy. I'm finding that saying I'll walk every day no excuses works better than saying 3 - 4 times a week, because I can't say "oh I'll just go tomorrow" and if I miss 1-2 I still get in 5-6 instead of 2-3. Let's hope I can keep this up, we're getting Vicki's snow tomorrow afternoon, then below normal and chance of rain almost all week. Gotta love spring. Rhonda - Sounds like a fun afternoon plan. Enjoy yourself. Vicki - Hang in there, sometimes that scale doesn't show us all the work we've done right away. Sandra - :T mmm cornbread. That sounds good. Coco - Come on hop back on the wagon, I've been hanging on by my fingernails all week. Maryanne - It was actually linen not wool. But I've definitely had that problem with wool too. Have a nice lazy day. Well, I'm off to walk the dog then we're going to an afternoon movie and dinner, since it's dh's "good weekend". Have a great day everyone. -Tech ontarget 03-28-2009, 03:17 PM Rhonda, you sound so "springy" today. Enjoy every moment. Donna, I like your idea of walking every day. I am a procrastinator, too, so I often postpone :ebike:. I'll do mine as soon as I get off here. We're watching Antique Roadshow. Do we need a life or what? coco99 03-28-2009, 07:16 PM Hi Everyone Well not much happening here. Had some errands to run this morning. Did that. Then went to my Aunt's and visited for a little bit. Then we to Applebee's to eat. We had a gift card for there. Anyway. I was a little disappointed in their WW menu. They really didnt have anything. I only saw about 4 meals that were WW. A salad, a fish, a chicken and a steak dinner. And they dont have the WW dessert anymore. I got the steak and mushroom WW dinner. 7 points. But is was very good. I am back on track mostly today. I did have 6 pretzels with a little cheese on them. They were the little square pretzels. I think I figured around 2 points for this. But doing alot better than yesterday. TECHALUM Great Job on the loss.:carrot: Hope you had a good time at the movie and dinner. What movie do you go see. ONTARGET My Mom and Dad like to watch the Roadshow. And I am back on the wagon. Compared to yesterday anyway. BEACHBUM Sure hope you get to feeling better. Mom is still having pain. And of course they dont have the test results back yet. Wont get them until the first of the week. Told her if she had more pain or got to feeling worst. To go to the ER. So we will see. Is the throw for yourself or are you making it for someone. Take care. VICKIE dont you just hate it. You follow program to the T. And nothing happens or you gain. I know what you are going through. I am having trouble myself. I get so upset. And think. Why do I put myself through this. I dont lose. Or stay the same. Or gain and relose the same 5 lbs. I keep telling the Dr I think something with the hormones is going on. But they say no. So I dont know. I guess I will keep struggling for a little bit more. And then maybe just give up. Maybe once the weather gets better and I can get out more. Maybe that will help. I am sure the scales will go down for you this week. Keep you chin up. I am here with you and for you all the way. TEJAS Hope you are enjoying the nice day. We had a pretty good day here. And come on over anytime to help toss papers. I probably could have threw more away. But would start. Then think. No maybe I will need that. Oh well. Maybe one of these days I will get rid of them all. Well I am going to get off here for now. Hope everyone is having a great day. Thinking of each of you. coco ontarget 03-28-2009, 10:50 PM Coco, :woohoo: on being on that wagon. I'm probably going to On the Border Tuesday after wi. Now is that program? I have been studying their menu/points and am planning on a meal that's a little shy of 30 pts. Tues is my first day of the week so I'll have all my WPA's. We'll see what happens. I'm going with 2 gf's. We don't get out together very often. This will be An Event. Vickie 03-29-2009, 11:13 AM Good Morning Chicks! It is NOT spring in Chicago. I'm still working very hard to show some weight loss this week. So far, nothing. I can only hope for a miracle by tomorrow morning. I'll be exercising later today. That will be five times this week for 30 minutes. Not a lot considering my sedentary lifestyle but still better than nothing. We'll be staying in today because of the weather and because we can. What's up with all of you? Tejas 03-29-2009, 11:33 AM Well, Vickie, what's up in Toronto is RAIN. Yesterday was glorious, with the temperature all the way up to 60F. I even did some yard work. Now, it is pouring rain and 40F. I'm heading out to see my former MIL, then going out to lunch, then to babysit my godson's four year old boy...a very wild child! Oh well, it's my anniversary present to my godson and his wife so that they can celebrate their wedding anniversary. I'm going to make a soup: left over steak ff, low salt beef broth can of diced tomatoes can of drained and rinsed chick peas ww elbow macaroni spinach seasonings to taste, maybe oregano BBL, if I don't just collapse after baby sitting! Oh, by the way, DH seems to be getting more serious: no more diet drinks. I gave him information from the American Heart Association and the Mayo Clinic on Metabolic Syndrome. I told him I would give up drinking wine at home for as long as he stays off the diet drinks. Gotta suffer alongside him.. Rhonda beach bum 03-29-2009, 03:50 PM Hi Ladies:) RAIN RAIN and FOG is what we got this morning, another lazy day for me. VICKIE-I must of missed your post when posting yesterday.Sorry:hug::hug: you're having such a hard time getting the scale to move downward.:cp:Here's to a get lose on Monday :cp:That's good that your logging in your food to get the calorie count. You'll find lots of information on that site. I go to fit day myself and so far for the month my average calorie count is 1400.[28PTS]Even if i zig zag my calorie range [1300=1500]. You'll lose again Vickie,we all have to find the balance. It took me a while to figure out that WW points were too low for me. 20 to 24 wasn't enough calories and now that I'm using 28pts the scale is moving[.3-.5] SLOWLY,but its moving. SANDRA-I'm sure you do great on Tues. I haven't exercised all week as I was feeling well, and I will have to average out my weight tomorrow.Don't know what the results will be,but I not going to worry about it anymore. RHONDA-Thanks for the idea,we always have lots of extra veggies to make a soup, but I never think about it. TECH-BIG CONGRATS on losing 2 lbs that terrific.OH!! I never heard of a linen yarn. Good getting your walking done. I'll have to try walking again once the rain & showers they predicted for the week subsides. COCO-Feeling a lot better than I was in the beginning of last week. Happy to hear you mom is feeling better Hope the results come back negative. The throw is for myself. I always wanted to got to Apple Bees but we don't have one in my town. Its not easier trying to figure out the points for a restaurant if your don't have the food companion or access to Dotty's site. Have a great afternoon & day coco99 03-29-2009, 07:03 PM Hi Everyone Listening to the wind blow. Cooler weather coming. There is a big difference from this moring. In fact when we came out of church this morning you could tell the temp had dropped. But boy are things greening up since we had rain. In fact. If the warm weather keeps up. We will have to mow the yard before long. Well just in places. But it is always that way in the spring. Anyway. We will have to have our Easter snow. Or that is what my Grandma always told me. BEACHBUM We had a lazy day too. Went to church. Then out to eat. Went to Chedder's. I am going to have to find out some points values for that place. Then went to my sisters for a few minutes. She had some pictures for me. Then came home. Walked out girls. Then went to Shop N Save. They had ham on sale. So got a couple and put them in the freezer. We like to take it camping with us. And then for Easter. And that has been it. Guess a pretty boring day. But we spent time together as a family. I guess that is what counts. TEJAS How did the babysitting go. That is nice of you. And that is good that you are giving up something to help hubby. That means alot. When both are doing it together. Or it has been for me. ONTARGET I havent heard of On the Border. Dont know of any around here. I am figuring Chedder's meals are very high points. So I need to find info on them. Hope you have a wonderful time with your friends on Tuesday. Thinking of you. Well I am going to get off here for now. Go check my e-mails. coco ontarget 03-29-2009, 10:33 PM Vickie, we had a glorious day today with temps in the 70's. Yesterday was over 20* colder and extremely windy. I stayed in jammies all day. Today I moved some plants around and planted 2 clematis that arrived via post yesterday. I have a gf who works in the yard a lot, too. She said her husband tells her plants not to get comfortable where they are because she'll be moving them somewhere else. Guess that's what I do, too. lol I had a slight hiccup today. Curtis asked for homemade brownies. I am figuring I had 12 pts worth. I counted WPA's. Oh, well, life goes on. Rhonda, I'm going to google that article. I drink several Diet Cokes a day and know I need to stop. Maybe Tell Doyle I'll quit if he quits. (But tell him if he starts back that I will, too.) I have 4 left in the fridge. I'll drink 1 a day till they are gone. And Curtis may drink some of them, too, so I may be out of them in a couple of days. Coco, On the Border is an awesome Mexican food restaurant chain. My favorite item is called Guacamole Live. They bring the ingredients to your table and make it right there. Rhonda, I may have to have a margarita Tuesday. (Just confessin') vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
