Good Morning Chicks! I've got weigh in today and the scale looks horrible. My typical 3rd week doldrums. I've been following the dog around the yard all morning trying to get a urine sample. No luck yet.

I'll be back later.

Good Morning Ladies :)

Brought my post over from last weeks thread.

Lost this week [.5] at my Monday W-I but I'll take it.

Not worried,as I just started eating my meals in a smaller[3 section] plate for portion control.I guess it takes a while before I get used to new way of eating.

Tracker finally reading correctly.

VICKIESorry about your new internist.Finding a good one is impossible theses days, even up here on the cape.I think you made the right decision, you should go back to your old doctor as the new one seems like a jerk.

MY friends are experiencing that now,as my doctor is an internist, geriatrics and specializes in bones. One of my friends called his office and he not taking new patients anymore.

COCO:wave: Hi Hope you have a good day

Have to go,will be back later

Hello Everyone,

Just for you Rhonda I've popped back in too

Sorry I've been gone for so long, this winter I've just been really :p I've still been going to WW but I've pretty much been stuck at 230 +/- 3 for a year now. With everything that's been going on I should be happy about not gaining tons, I know but the knowing doesn't help the emotions. So I've decided to seriously start again, I'm weighing and measuring everything again instead of just guessing or thinking I know.....I've also started re-reading Dr.Oz and am walking 30 mins a day NO excuses, last week I got in 5 but since the week before it was like 2 I figure it was a vast improvement. I may even dust off my bike tomorrow it's supposed to be in the upper 60's (of course back to freezing by the weekend  )

On the DH front (since I'm sure you'll ask), things have been pretty ichy. His blood counts keep bottoming out so they keep postponing treatments, plus now he has to give himself shots to get the white counts up, he feels like this chemo thing will last forever (and sometimes I do to). He also has developed an incisional hernia which gives him a "pouchy" stomach, but they can't fix it until the chemo's done, his hair has thinned a bunch, this along with some other side effects from the surgery, and some issues with his job have made his mood pretty low. I keep thinking it will get better but I'm not sure how or when (got to polish up that crystal ball.....)

Well enough about me....

Rhonda - hope you enjoyed your trip.

Vickie - Hang in there you can do this you know it....Sorry about the dr.

Sandra - did you make it to WW today????

Sloan - hope you're feeling better. Did you finish that sweater? I've been knitting up a storm.

Tracie - Eat more filling foods you shouldn't feel hungry. Congrats on the big loss :cp:

Coco & Maryann -

Have a great day everyone.

I haven't had a chance to read anything yet. We got home a few minutes ago. I won. We're exhausted but happy. There were almost 1300 folks flinging arrows. It was exciting. Now we're about to crash.

Donna, I'm sorry about Dh. I wish both of you the best.

I apologize for not posting to each of you now. I'm exhausted and am getting offline till tomorrow.

Hi Chickies. I've been trying to stay on track, but I hate the points counting. I am going to ask for the week 6 materials on Wednesday's wi and start stictly on core/simply filling. I like it so much better.
Well, just wanted to check in. Got to go! See you all later.

I gained .6. I'm very bummed; although this is my pattern of losing three weeks and then either staying the same or having a small gain on the fourth. I'm sure I'll get it off next week. I'm not changing my tracker. That may be a mistake but I'm going to be optimistic.

Grrr.....the JC Counselor did not have much advice. Really they are more cheerleaders than anything else.

Going to spend a quite day with my Leo.We're going to eat our corned beef cabbage & potato dinner later.

Nothing new, this after there as some sort of charity golf tournament that we will watch.

DONNA-Welcome:welcome: back to the treat. I know you had a lot to go though with your DH's chemo and everything.Happy to hear that you didn't faultier in your weight loss effects. That a plus that your back to walking for 30 mins. I was I could walk outside, but even though the sun is out, the winds are very strong up here and it hard to walk with out being blown over.Putting you and your DH back on my prayer lost.

SANDRA-Congratulation on your win, take all the time to rest up.That's part of the weight loss effects. That a lot of people in one place. Didn't think target competition was that popular.

TRACIE-That why I left the flex and loved the core plan.Counting was for the birds. Now I back to counting as I using the point system to count calories ever since my doctor suggest to to stay on a 1400-1600[28-32pts] calorie count. WW leader who shriek if she knew I was up that high & not on her 1000[20p] count.

VICKIE-Sorry that you gained, that little bit, but you know that your weight loss pattern and I sure you 'll have a big loss again next week. Now that I'm portion controlled with a small entree tray,I see inches lost,as my slacks are fall off. You might see the same thing when the scale doesn't more.

Have a great morning, will look in on you gals later

urg... I need to vent..

Hubby keeps changing what diet he is on...

I plan the menu, shop, & cook while trying to stick to a tight budget.
This means I buy meats and other stuff on sale and freeze as much as possible. He was on atkins so I stocked up on meats, last week
he took a week off ...This week he wants to do core.

I don't like red meat more than once a week so now I have a bunch of red meat in the freezer.

Core is actually easier because I am trying to do Core and my son can eat
that way also with a few extras...

Maybe this is a good thing because all 3 of us can eat Core and it will be easier to cook. Before I sorta cooked 3 ways every night.

I can use the meats once or twice a week.

This will make it easier on me to just have core foods around.

Now I need to do something about the cookies I made my son last night....
I'll send them to school with him

Thanks for "listening"

Hi everyone. Just a quick minute to stop by. Things are going well here, I have wi tomorrow and I'm going to do what I can to make the meeting. Even if I can't spare the full time for the meeting I need to go get weighed.

Did my grocery shopping today - tons of fresh fruit! Love to have it on hand. Dinner tonight is core chicken parm - basically chicken seasoned with italian seasonings and baked, served with ww pasta and sauce. DD and DH both love it and its easy. Got a nice loaf of bread that they can have with their dinner - I'll skip that.

Coco, congrats on the loss!!!

Welcome back Donna!

Welcome Home and congrats on the wins Sandra.

Vickie, hope the Dr works out. Don't let one week get you down, your doing great!

I went to WW this AM and had only gained a 1.7 lbs since last time I was there several months ago. Guess my attempts with athome-losing were helping some. (Thank goodness!)

Now we have the pantry stocked with WW-friendly foods. I'm pumped and ready to "be good."

Congratulations to those of you who lost. Vickie, your tiny gain could be water retention. You're doing well with the eating and exercising. You'll see your good results.

Donna, I like your little "runner." That's cute and is a good way to keep track.

Nancy, it'll be good for all 3 of you to be on the same plan. Has to be easier on the cook.

Maryann, you're right. I need to go take a nap. Curtis is already asleep.

Coco, I'm chugging the H20, too. Let's do it, girl.

Rhonda, I ordered 6 more groundcover rosebushes today. Do you think I'm getting carried away? These will be all red.

Vickie, I went back to last week's thread and read about you Dr. Well, phooey. You're doing the right thing by leaving that one.

Sandra, congrats on the win. You ARE the BEST!!!! :queen:

Nancy, the meat can stay frozen for up to six months. Hopefully, it won't be a problem for you.

Coco, good for you for losing! I'm not even going to weigh this week!

I tried to be good on the trip. I didn't overdo it, but we did have some fudge and other goodies. We had a great time with the family visit. My great niece is 22 years old, has a 6 year old boy (that's right, she was 16!) and she is in graduate school, working on her Masters degree. I am so proud of her efforts and progress. It was wonderful to see her and her son in their new home and surroundings. Vermont was beautiful; I haven't been there in about 30 years.

I'm really tired, and have a big day tomorrow. I'll check in tomorrow night.

It is suppose to be a nice day today. Guess if I had enough engery I would hang out the clothes. But I dont think I will. Still have lots of time to do that later on. I like to hang clothes out to dry. Espeically the bed sheets. But not doing those today.

TEJAS glad you had a good trip.

Good Morning Ladies:)

Looks like spring is coming to the cape, the weather begetting warmer and the winds are slowly descending. I'm going to try to walk along one of our main streets for 2 miles for 30 mins.Have to start slowly and work myself up to 3 or 4 miles like I did last summer.

Looked in the mirror and I noticed that I can see a bit of a curve coming back on my waist line and my face doesn't look that swollen any more. Even if the scale doesn't go down I can now see that I'm losing inches instead. Is it all from portion control??????????

DONNA-Hope you enjoyed your evening with your folks. Be careful of those baked goodies, they have calories.

VICKIE-Best of luck with your internist,I hope he has answers for you.

NANCY-Glad to hear your DH decided to to to the core plan. This will definitely make it easier on your with your meal plans. My DH doesn't like the stuff I cook every since his chemo,so he cooks for himself and I do my thing.

COCO-BIG CONGRATS on your 3 lb loss you're really doing terrific with the momentum plan. Keep up the good work. We had a wonderful St Patrick's Day watching golf tournament,as we didn't get the NBC parade from NY.Than we made our corned beef cabbage and potatoes in the crock pot.It took 6 hrs to slow cook, but I the meat was so tender that I didn't have to use a knife to cut a fork would do.

PAULA-It was beautiful yesterday and I didn't take advantage of it so this morning I'm going out to do my 2 m walking instead.

SANDRA-You'll lose that in now time. You had a exciting weekend and the body need time to rest and the when you get back to the regular routine your gain will surely turn into a loss.

RHONDA-Glad you had a great time with friends & family. I haven't been to Vermont in a long time either, but I remember the beautiful country side. Hopefully next Christmas I like to go up there to see the Van Trap family resort & shops.

Have a great morning

Rhonda, I agree about the red roses. I am very curious to see how these groundcover roses do. I'm expecting a lot out of them. I ordered some yellow, red, white, and pink ones. The reds were an afterthought, so I'm still waiting on them. I'm also waiting on some cascading petunias. Life is good. Hope the Texas heat and they get along this summer.

Yes I love Spring, but we don't get much if it up here in the CAPE. We get warmer, but the cool air is still around until June & soon after the HOT & HUMID weather comes. Hope the inches start melting & continue to come off,as the the scale is showing anything.

Hi Everyone
Just getting on here for a few.
Not much going on.
Finished doing some paper work that I didnt get done yesterday. So that is done.
I fixed Fiber One pancakes for breakfast. But I guess I will have to count points for those. And I will have to figure the points up. We each had 4 pancakes. Not sure about lunch. For supper I am going to have cube steak. And not sure what else. Got some broccoli. Think we will have that. But have to fix something else for son.
Guess this evening we will go to the funeral home. A guy that hubby knew passed away. Son wants to go also. So will wait until he comes home from work. And hubby's sister is going to go with us.
Had some rain this morning. But it is clearing up. But cool temps. In the 40's
I applauded all you ladies exercising. That is one thing I need to start doing. But just havent made myself start. Maybe one of these days.

BEACHBUM I know what you mean about walking on the tread mill. When I was walking on the treadmill. I had hubby fix me up a TV in the basement. I would watch that. Or I had gotten a cd player with headphones and used that. That helped me alot.

ONTARGET Hope the soreness is gone. I think that is another reason why I havent started exercising. Because I know I will hurt. And I dont want to hurt. But I guess that is just a excuse. I guess that is why they make motrin.

Well I am going to get off here for now.
I dont know that I will get back on today.
I know it will be kinda late when we get home tonight.
I am thinking of each of you.
Have a great day.

Maryann, the club has a TV on each :tread: That helps me. But it's still not as good as walking outside.

I worked in the yard this afternoon setting out some plants I got at Lowe's and Home Depot. They are really pretty.

Oh, I agree about walking outside. It's much preferable to the indoor treadmill. But, it is still COLD here much of the time and I am so busy at work it is ridiculous.

I got on the treadmill this morning and it was imbalanced!!! :( DH fixed it but I had to leave to go to the office.

I've had quite a few things blow up in my face at work and they are serious student issues that must be dealt with correctly and immediately. So, I've got to get the treadmill in early in the morning...if I can.

I called my MD to make an appointment for a check up. I told the receptionist to give the MD lots of time to fuss at me. So, I don't have an appointment until June! Oh well, maybe I'll actually weigh less and have some :exercise: done by then!

Have a great night everyone.

I am in one of those moods when nothing sounds good to cook.
Red meat.. just not appetizing Chicken..tired of it...Seafood hard to find good quality here. Pasta ...not on core...All that sounds good are fruits and nuts.

Time to hunt through the recipes to find something new.
I am taking a new sleeping pill so I wonder if it is affecting my appetite.

Spring has made me feel so much better. I have been organizing my attic and
throwing a lot away and giving a lot away also. I am sleeping better because
hubby is sleeping in another room. His snoring was so bad I slept on the couch
most nights. Our extra beds are all too hard for me.

If this post makes no sense it is because I am loopy from my sleeping pill

Hey Chicks! Nancy and I should have a party. I can't sleep either so I decided to catch up. It's been another crazy week for me. Good thing I don't have work to interfere.

Donna, welcome back! You're darn right you should be happy with yourself. I managed to gain back all 45 pounds that I lost when faced with the stress of losing my best friend. You'll get going again. You went to Panera and didn't indulge? Good for you!

Sandra, I am SO SO happy for you that 1.7 is all you will have to deal with. Sometimes I think we don't give ourselves enough credit for the new habits that we make a part of our lives that we don't abandon when we are stressed or busy. Good luck! I'm sure all that exercise you are getting is going to make a huge difference.

Thanks for understanding about my Internist quandry.

As for the treadmill, I actually prefer it to walking outdoors. When I walk outdoors, it has to be for extra activity it can't be my exercise. I stop to smell too many roses or whatever else is out and about. I talk to neighbors and dogs, strangers....you name it. At least on the treadmill, I know I have to keep walking or I'll fall on my nose.

Tracie, I always hated counting points too. My plan is to get back to simply filling as soon as I possibly can.

Mary Ann, thanks for the pep talk! None of my clothes are falling off yet. Probably because they had gotten SO tight. Now they are starting to fit better.

Nancy, I understand how frustrated you must be about DH changing his mind. However, how wonderful that he's decided to do Core. In my humble opinion it is a much better plan than Atkins. Good luck to all of you. How exciting to only have to cook one meal.

Coco, my friend, you are doing just amazing! How awesome that you are losing really significant amounts of weight without exercising. I'm SO jealous. I exercised four times last week and still gained. Harumpf! You should be very, very proud of yourself.

Paula, I'm glad you're doing so well. Congratulations on your 1.6 loss. 10 pounds to goal. You must be able to sniff the end zone! I'm happy for you. Your chicken parm meal sounded great. It made me drool. JC has a version but it wasn't that good. I may try it again and doctor it up a bit. It was a bit heavy handed on the oregano for me.

Vickie
03-20-2009, 02:57 AM
So here's my little update. I went back to the old internist. He isn't worried about my kidney numbers even though the report said chronic stage 3 kidney disease. He said that is just automatically generated by the computer and it means nothing. So that was great news. My triglycerides are way up from last time but apparently not dangerously high. My overall number continues to go down as does my LDL. Unfortunately, my HDL went down too. He thinks that since I'm on JC and exercising again, I can hold off on medicine. We've also started taking 300 mg of Mega Red Krill oil. People have noted significant improvement in triglycerides and HDL after taking it for 6 months. I may up my dose to 2 a day since up to 3 are ok. It is supposed to be 3 times more potent and effective than fish oil and more importantly it is only the size of a vitamin E and smells like vanilla. No burps. We'll see. Even though my thyroid tested out at nearly double the last test, he doesn't think I need to be medicated. He thinks I might have SAD. I have to do some research on that.

So all and all....the bottom line is that I'm obese and need to lose weight and lose it now. I'm thankful that nothing extreme has shown up in my bloodwork. I'm annoyed that I have some pretty significant symptoms that no one will deal with. The only doctor I have left who might be able to help me is the Neurologist to see if the headaches and smokey smell are migraines. I'm just going to take a little break for now since I'm sick of Doctors and tests. I'll focus on the weight loss and the exercise and see what happens.

Yesterday we ran errands and went shopping. Then I came home and made homemade applesauce and broiled some chicken. Today we had the cleaning lady here and then my Niece and the Greats had dinner out with us. That's probably why I can't sleep. I think I got overstimulated! Just like a kid.

Anyhow, the dog has a vet appointment tomorrow and I have some more shopping to do. It's birthday season and I need to shop for a couple of gifts.

I'm going to try to go back to bed since it's almost 1:00. My smokey smell headaches come sometimes when I don't get enough sleep. It think I'll take some tylenol pm and hit the hay again.

Drink your water!

good morning ladies. Just getting ready to get dd out the door on the bus, then I'm off to work. DH has been working on renovating our bedroom this week. Its been completely gutted, new closets framed in and insulation up. The blue board is going up today and the plasterer should be here tomorrow to figure out what he needs and let us know when he can do the room. I'm thrilled as this will complete all the rooms upstairs. Only rooms left to be done are the living room and dining room. We'll deal with those next year. Its only been 12 years in our house!!

Nancy - try whole wheat pasta, it is core. Or a fried rice with lots of veggies, shrimp and brown rice. That can be made into core. Hope you find something of interest.

Well, got to run. I'll be back later.

Good Morning Ladies:)

Going to take another walk as the temps are going up this afternoon, and it will be comfortable to get my walking done.

Crossing :crossed: my fingers for the rest of of the weekend as I saw a 1lb loss on my scale yesterday and than again today, but my official W-I is not going to be until Monday. Its a possibility that the small plate portion control is now working.

COCO-I made pancakes this morning but I used Polenta corn meal instead of flour. They were a little lumpy[cornmeal & water] but the tasted good. Next time I won't follow the instructions on the box.I'll add eggs along with the cornmeal tto make a smoother pancake.

I really like to use the treadmill by bringing it up stairs, but Leo doesn't want it in spare room. Leo did buy me a DVD player to use for the treadmill but right now its too cold down there to exercise.

SANDRA-I have a DVD that I have to bring to the basement, but like you I Love walking outside than to be in a stuffy basement.

I don't know what kinds of treadmill your gals have but mine is a manual and it hard to work out on it,unless I'm distracted by having a TV or a dvd player keeping my mine off of the workout. My stationary bike is manual also.

RHONDA-Sorry you have so much on your plate at work.Hope it comes to an end soon.

NANCY-Hope you find some recipes that will help you get out of the meat, poultry, fish & pasta mode. Maybe you could try some bean recipes for a change.

VICKIE-Its amazing how our body's work some times the weight shifts from one part to another part of the body.I know that after I got off of low carbing my weight shifted from my lower half to my top half of my torso and now I wearing a bigger size bra.

Glad that you got good results with your old internist, hope he will work with you on bring up your HDLs.

PAULA-You so lucky your DH is so handy Leo has two left thumbs and we have to call a handy man in all the time when something doesn't work .

Have a great morning

Well, I only have 103 days before retirement so IT will end soon. I just hope I live to enjoy it!

DH is walking the real estate agent around the house and yard so that we can get his estimate. We have someone coming to do more work, beginning the 30th.

I'm tired of this weight and lack of time to really devote to exercise :( I've got to redouble my efforts. Honestly, sometimes I believe it's stress....woops, I said NO EXCUSES for Lent didn't I?!

Back to work..

Hi everyone. Finally a chance to pop back on. I also love to walk outside -- I go every night to walk our dog. Rain, snow, cold, dark, light. I go. The only time I'll skip taking him is when its really pouring out. Its not only helped me but I think his daily walks are keeping his arthritis in check -- he's an 11 year old lab. But he's our first baby! Now that its getting lighter at night and warmer, I do take dd sometimes. She rides her bike while we walk.

DH is a self employeed carpenter -- definatly a plus to have a handy husband.

Mary Ann, glad the small plate idea is working. My scale is also down from my wi this week. Things are looking up :)

Rhonda, not much longer..... how is the housing market in your area? My sister put her house on the market recently - things are moving slowly. The agent told her to expect it to take about 6+ months.

Nancy, any luck with the recipes? I found a lasagna recipe on line that I'm going to convert to core. I did figure the points - for 1/9 of a 13X9 pan its 4-5 points. Sounds OK to me -- I'll bulk it up with lots of veggies. I'll let you know what I find.

Whats for dinner tonight? I took lamb out of the fridge, but maybe take out. There is a pizza place that has a wonderful salad with steak tips on it. not sure.

Well, time to pack up and head home. Bye.

Here's a Core lasagna recipe that I loved. I also used the meat sauce as a meat sauce for on top of pasta. It's a way to use up some ground sirloin.

We worked out at the club again today then I worked in the yard for a couple of hours. I planted 24 verbena and several other potted plants. (Hope they live in the Texas summer heat.)

Vickie, I'm hoping JC helps you keep off the meds. I'm trying the same thing, too. I go back to the doctor in 6 weeks to see if I can come off meds for high cholesterol. That's my goal anyway.

Paula, your lab is lucky to have you for the daily walks.

Rhonda, are you and Doyle going to list your home before you retire? I hope it sells quickly when you do list it.

Nancy, I'm going to do some surfing for new recipes. I'm tired of the same old same old, too.

Hi Everyone
Just getting on here for a few.
See what is going on.
I havent taken the time to see what everyone is up too.
So I wont write to each of you.
But after I post I will go catch up with everyone.
Did go to the funeral home last night. Alot of peopel there. The guy had been a school bus driver. They had him in his bus outfit. And had a little school bus in with him.
Today had to run a couple of errands. Then went a visted a elderly couple for a little bit. She is always wanting to come and have tea with her. So we went and had tea today.
It was a cool first day of spring today. Or I thought it was.
Well I am going to get off here.
Go see how everyone is doing.
I am not sure if I will be able to get on here tomorrow or not.
Here a month or so ago. They were to upgrade our internet. Then they didnt do it. Well guess they are suppose to sometime tonight into tomorrow.
So if I am not on here tomorrow. You know I couldnt get on.
But they said it should only take a few hours. So we will see.
Hope everyone had a great day.
Thinking of each of you.

Hi Everyone
Well guess they got their work done for the internet.
Now I have to learn some new things about it. They have it set up different than before. Dont know why they couldnt leave it the way it was.
Oh well. Say it is for the better.
Waiting on a load of clothes to finish washing. And a load to finish drying.
So thought I would get on here to see what was going on.
Not sure what else we will get into. Son had to go to school today. Said he would probably be there 10 hours. Told him. Maybe he wouldnt be there that long.
Hubby is trying to get a cold. Alot of that going around. He has been lucky this winter. He really hasnt had a cold. Waits until now. I am wondering though. I had been buying some crystal light. It is for your immunity. I am wondering if that has helped some. But the last time I was at Wal Mart. They didnt have any. So dont know if they were just out. Or if they are going to stop carrying it. I seen they didnt have my fabric softener there either. And I didnt see the tag for it. They seem to be good at carrying something. Then stopping.
Well I am going to get off here. Go check on the machines. and fix a salad for lunch.
Thinking of everyone.
Hope everyone is haveing a great day.

Hi Ladies:)

The scale has put me in a 1 lb loss for three days so I'm going to make it official. I'm now 167 again like it was in Jan. So I'm hoping for a 7 lb loss in the next 1 1/2 weeks left of my challenge.

RHONDA-103 days That just over 3 months.Oh way would you say that, you eating healthy and exercising that will put longevity in your life. Nothing like retired life,do what you want and no one will tell you different.

PAULA-Congrats on your weigh loss. I can see the difference from the plate I was using to my new plate WoW did I eat a lot. Hopefully my new plate method will work to my advantage.

VICKIE-Thanks for the lasagna recipe.Look good, that's a keeper going to bookmark right away.

COCO-How sad for the family and friends,to lose loved ones. Was he a school bus driver,or a reg driver??????
Hope you DH get rid of the cold,Leo is having some kind of a stomach virus he can't get rid of.He its not better over the weekend he will go to the doctors.

Have a great afternoon going to watch the golf tournament.

Hi All:

We went to hear Yo Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble last night. We had front row center seats and I almost swooned like a school girl...Yo Yo Ma looked RIGHT AT ME and smiled.....

If you don't know who he is, it's worth looking him up on Google...and the music is grand (in my view). He played at Obama's inauguration. I have tons of his CDs.

Tonight we're going to go hear Mavis Staples, and in early April we'll see Willie Nelson (with Ray Price)...now I know you know who they are!!!

So DH finally said that he has to lose weight. We'll see what he does with it. I cook good meals but he loves to snack on the bad stuff. He might even get on the tread mill. It's a bit warmer today, I'm walking outside.

Good luck on your challenge, Maryann.

Coco, sorry your friend died but that's cute about the bus. My friend with cancer isn't staying in touch, but I send her emails every 10 days or so just to let her know I'm thinking of her. They must all be devastated.

BBL,
Rhonda

oh yes, about the house, etc.

The market isn't good, but it's not dead. In Toronto it's not unusual to have a 3-4 month closing. So it can sell and the transfer not happen for months.

I won't mind if we spend the summer here so I can rest!

I retire on June 30.

Rhonda, I saw Ray Price one time in Ft. Worth. He puts on a good show. And, Willie? Of course he puts on a great one. Tell Doyle Curtis is working at losing 1 pound a week. (We are, too, right?) Good success to you on selling and closing without delays. However, you might be wise to dodge the Texas heat one more time.

Coco, I'm sorry about your friend's passing.

Maryann, you can still lose those 7 pounds by goal time.

I'm still op. I didn't exercise today but I did work in the yard some. Now Curtis is outside doing his bit.

Vickie, how's your day?

Right, Sandra...but the one pound is more like 1/2! Oh well, it's the right direction most of the time.

Mavis Staples was so inspirational. I have no idea how old she is, but she can really move and belt out the gospel.

She told a story about her grandmother moaning all the time. She finally asked her why and she said "When you moan the Devil doesn't know what you're saying." I liked that!

Hi Chickies! Sorry I haven't been on much. I've been pretty busy lately. I sure can see the difference in energy when I am op, so I have been getting things back on track here at home. But just wanted to check in and say hi and I'm doing pretty good. I will see you all later!

Rhonda, I think 1/2 lb is great. I'd take it any time. I love your post about Mavis Staples.

Tracy, I'm having more energy, too. Also, I feel guilty about sitting in front of a puter when it's so nice outside.

Good Morning Chicks! I was busy yesterday with cooking sides and prepping for the week. We ran some errands too. Today I'm going to spend time with my Great Nieces and Nephew. Gotta eat and get ready.

I'm doing well on program and hope you all are as well. Drink your water. I've got weigh in tomorrow. Certainly something good has to happen. Right?

Hi Ladies:)

Not feeling well this morning,I think I caught something like Leo had for 2 weeks.I didn't go out with my friends for brunch,as I have a queasy tummy.Didn't eat anything but chicken veggie soup and 2 dry rye toast.Hope Whatever I have doesn't last for 2 weeks cause my DD & the grand kids are coming up here for Spring Break.

RHONDA-Thanks,I like to get the weight off before summer arrives, when we start disrobing from our winter attire into our short & Capri sets.

SANDRA-Some times we need a rest from exercising, even if it just garden work. That would be a MIRACLE if I lose those 7lbs. But now that I'm not eating maybe I will.

TRACIE-Sometimes we're busy and don't have time to post.Glad you checked in with us.

VICKIE-Have a great time with your Niece and nephew.and good luck on tomorrow's W-I.

Hi Everyone
Sorry I wasnt back on here yesterday.
Well. My kitchen facuet had started to drip. So hubby decided to work on it. Well once he got into it. Everything fell apart. So we had to get ready and go get a new facuet. So came home. He put it on. Then he kept leaking underneath. So finally go that stopped. Then son came home from school. We went out to eat. Then to the Mall and Wal Mart. Then by the time we got home. And I put stuff away I didnt feel like getting on here.
So today went to church. Came home and waited on son to come home. He was with the fire dept directing traffic. They were having some kind of bicycle race. And wanted the fire dept to help. Then when he came home. Of course went and ate. And then went to hubbys sister for a little bit. Then came home. And I put stuff away from under the kitchen sink. Hubby said to let it air out good. Make sure it was dry.
He is still coughing a good bit. Giving him tussin DM. Seems to help some. But can tell when it is time to take again. Said he is awful sore today. Said guess where he was on the floor trying to work on the sink. Made him sore.

BEACHBUM Sure hope you get to feeling better. Great job on the loss. The guy that passed away that we had went and seen. Was a school bus driver. In fact. He had drove when hubby was in school.

TEJAS I never did get the hang of sudoko. My WW leader loves it.

ONTARGET Know what you mean about being on here instead of outside. But if I didnt get on here now. Probably wouldnt get on at all. If I went outside. Then would come in and sit down and fall asleep. Havent slept good the last couple of nights. So got on here instead. Keeping awake.

TWESTRA HI. Hope everything is going ok.

VICKIE how are you doing. How did the day go with the great nieces and nephews. Bet you had a great time. I am drinking my water. And I think that is one reason I am not sleeping good at night. I am gettng up 3 to 4 times a night to go potty.

Well ladies I am sorry. I didnt mean to write a book.
I hope everyone is doing ok. Thinking of each of you.
Have a great evening.

Got a question. Is anyone else having this problem. Sometimes when i go to post. And I hit submit. Or go to log off. My computer it likes freeze's. Then it says something about internet explorer not responding.
So not sure what is going on. If anyone has any ideas. Let me know.
Thanks

Oh boy...do I ever know the getting up 3 or 4 times a night.

When we went to Vermont we stayed in a hotel because we wanted to but also because my great niece lives in an old house with one bathroom..on the main floor and the bedrooms on the second floor. I told her I couldn't navigate the stairs 3-4 times in the night... it's not funny

I can't do Sudoko either Coco....I do crosswords from time to time.. and not very difficult ones either..
