Good morning! Had a pretty busy weekend--Saturday we did a quick day trip to see my cousin and pick up pierogies that she had ordered for me from her church. We had both breakfast and lunch out. Came home and then headed for the PSAC Championship basketball game--what a game it was...we were down by 12 and we were able to shave it to 1 point at the buzzer at half--the second half was crazy and the crowd was loud. We were able to pull off the win and now we're hosting the NCAA Division II East Regionals...woohoo! I love basketball and it's fun going to the games. I'm still hoarse from the game on Saturday but it was so worth it!
It's dreary here this morning and with the time change I really did not want to get up and out of bed--I would've loved to have stayed home today!
Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Melissa, Hooray for your team! That is really great; it's fun to have a winning team. I'm with you on the time change--why do we have to do that? I wish we could just leave the clock the same year-round. Yum--I really like Pierogies--which type do you like?
I played golf and it was a gorgeous day on Saturday--just Florida postcard perfect. Had some rehearsals. Went to a birthday party for an 80-year-old very active woman--I want some of her energy. Here is the funny part about her party. One of the male guests dressed up as her! It was very funny and he is a big guy; I don't know where he found the dress he was wearing. I did fairly well, eating wise till I just had to have a piece of pound cake. Sigh. It's a new week.
One of our local restaurants is doing a promotional dinner with an 80's theme. My GF and I are going to dress up--we get a free martini. I had to google 80's fashion because I honestly couldn't remember it.

I'm sorry ladies, I really have been horrible at posting! I'm doing well and so is the baby. I'm so busy at work, I feel like I don't even have a minute to myself sometimes!

Some news: DH was out running and training with some of his buddies last week and he fell down hard on the pavement. He had some scrapes, but was complaining about his shoulder. I sent him to the doctor--he has a broken collarbone! He says it doesn't really hurt. Amazing. Now he has to go to the ortho and be on light duty which didn't make his boss happy.
Went to Applebees for lunch and they have some new WW items on their menu. The big change I noticed on their menu is that the WW items are interspersed throughout instead of in a special section. At first I didn't like it, but then I thought that some people would be looking at the menu and decide that something looked and not even realize they were eating something points-friendly.
Had a massage last night and it was great. I slept like a baby last night.
How is everyone else?

Both of your weekends sound like they were fun! On Saturday I slept late, then a friend came down to visit DH and I. We went out to dinner and saw The Watchmen. I liked it, but then I had read the graphic novel and enjoyed that. It was graphic, which a lot of people I know complained about (or commented on it) but its based on a graphic novel, so I don't know what they expected! On Sunday, DH and I went to my aunts' house. They couldn't make it to my shower because it was snowing. It was a nice visit. Then in the afternoon DH's new band played their first show. This band does only covers. The crowd really got into it and we had a good time. I was pooped at the end of the night though - very busy weekend. Too busy I think because Monday I woke up exhausted. I had to go back to sleep and call in late to work :o
Lisa - Ouch! I can't believe your DH isn't in pain! I haven't been to Applebee's in a looooong time, but then I rarely go out to eat.

Lori, I don't know if I'll see Watchmen, not really my cup of tea. I rented White Oleander (2002) and really enjoyed that one--good character studies.
I can't believe DH isn't in a lot of pain. He said that yesterday he was sore, but I think it's because he knows he has a broken clavicle. : D
Your husband has a band? How cool is that? What's the name of the group? What does he play? Is he also a singer?

Good morning! Basketball frenzy is abound here on campus--tickets went on sale this morning and I'm sure it'll be busy. The downside is that you have to buy tickets for all 4 games. I'm going to wait and see if there are tickets left on Friday and just buy a single game. My DH won't be able to go to the later games with his work schedule.
It was warm (55) overnight but the temps are supposed to drop throughout the day and go down to 30!
I am SO ready for Spring! I'm taking Friday off and am hoping to do some small things. I do have a hair appointment, which I'm anxiously looking forward to. I've let the layers grow out and my hair is in a bob and I really am disliking it a lot! I need a new "do"!
I got a call from the doctor's office yesterday and they're sending me for another test which will check the thyroid function--you take a pill then come back an hour later and they draw blood and do x-rays. They are also sending me to an endocrinologist because my levels are still high. *sigh*
Lisa: I hope your DH heals fast! I'm sure he's not all that happy about having to do light duty or change his schedule. I know I wouldn't be! How are things going with staying OP? I've been struggling--stress and being tired are a terrible combination.
Lori: I don't know that I would see The Watchmen either--I'm not all that crazy about graphic shows. Sounds like between work and getting things ready for the baby you're super busy. Don't forget to take a little time for yourself when you get a chance. Schedule it in :)
I'm still having a hard time with this time change--I'm hoping that by next week I'll be on a better schedule. I'd be much happier if they left the time alone!

Melissa, That doesn't sound right regarding purchase of 4 tickets at once. Sometimes you just can't go to all of them. Oh, I thought winter was done for you--maybe it will be a short cold spell. Hopefully, you'll get your thyroid condition figured out.
I'm doing pretty well staying OP, except for the occasional cooky. I'm craving sugar so much lately and I'm not sure why.
I'm with you, the time change is not good. I am so tired.

Good afternoon! I'm doing pretty good. My back has been hurting the past couple of days. I really think its because I've been sleeping a lot on my back (not on purpose). I will wake up numerous times during the night on my back and it is SO uncomfortable. The baby seems to be just fine. She keeps flip-flopping between head down and being breech. She should settle in to being head down in a couple of weeks.
Lisa - DH sings, no instrument. His band is called "Oi! The Band" and they cover older English punk songs. A long time ago (but still after we'd been dating for a few years) we were in a band together. It was an irish punk band called "The Molly Maguires". He sang, and I played flute and tin whistle. I've also played in a ska/reggae band before - in that band I played saxophone and flute.
Melissa - Its gone back to cold here too. Today has been overcast all day and rainy, kind of depressing :( I'm not a basketball fan - just hockey! Yes, I've been VERY busy and I do know I need to take some time. The problem is, I am so busy at work that I am even thinking of coming in this weekend :o I think it will end up depending on how I feel this weekend, whether I am motivated or not. The extra money is always nice too.

Lori, Wow! I'm impressed with you and your DH's musical ability. It must be fun. The Irish gig sounds like fun, too. I was in a group for a few years: The Bel Canto Ensemble. We sang classical pieces and Broadway tunres to piano or tracks. We were very well-liked in the area, but we broke up because our male singer got a big professional gig in California.
Baby's almost here--all of that moving around must feel strange.
I guess it's good that you're busy. Many people can't say that. Here at my company, there are over 200 engineers on overhead and I know that a layoff is in the wings unless we win a couple big jobs. One of my friends was told to go to a 30-hour work week.

Good morning! Temps dropped from 56 yesterday to 25 this morning :( It's bitter but tomorrow is supposed to be warmer--we'll see if it happens.
I took tomorrow off--have an appointment to get my hair cut and do some other errands.
Lori: The closer you get to your due date the less the baby is going to move. It always amazed me how my stomach would contort from the boys stretching. It's great that you can work overtime--so many places are cutting back. We've had massive layoffs and it's been rough.
Lisa: I've been having trouble finding something to satisfy my taste buds and I'm not sure what that's about.
I was down 1.6# yesterday at my meeting. I'm at the lowest I've been in a a L-O-N-G time. My hope is that I'll be able to maintain this once they get my thyroid figured out. I'm still not sleeping well--hot flashes and itchy skin are keeping me awake. Last time I talked to the doctor she said it was part of the hypER symptoms. Ugh!
Run4Change: How are things going with you? Are working on another marathon?
Pam: Did you get hit with the storms that have been heading up the coast?

Melissa, Congrats on the loss--how great is that to be at your lowest?? Your temperatures are sure up and down. Hot flashes are no fun; this year I have really seen them drop off and I love it!!
I was wondering if your college had had any layoffs. Is your job secure?

Lisa: It's great to be down so low but at the same time some of my pants are "saggy"! I guess that's better than being snug though.
My friend that I walked with on my lunch hour was "restructured" out of her job and she was here 30 years! We don't have any job "security"--no union, tenure, etc. so anything can happen. There was also another person whose job was eliminated as well but it's mostly hit the support staff. They are combining 6 offices into one area so it's a major restructuring. The sad part is that these people were not offered another position here at the university.
As far as my job goes, I work in a one-person office and have a good working relationship with my boss (he sticks up for me) and have been in here 21 years and at the university 27. We would've been part of that new office structure but he voiced his concerns that we didn't "fit" the model (which we didn't).

Well I am feeling so much better than I have in weeks. I know I complained quite a while ago about how I wasn't eating very healthy. I turned that around and now I feel like I have so much more energy. It feels so much better to eat healthy and get in some exercise (which I've also been doing, just some short walks).
I went and got my hair cut yesterday - and got bangs! I always go back and forth - bangs, no bangs, bangs, no bangs. I had bangs cut back in June but the woman who did it did a HORRIBLE job so I immediately started growing them out. I then went back to my "usual" hairdresser and she did them this time and they look great! I'm very happy with them.
Lisa - Yes, I feel very lucky. I have a very secure job and I don't have to worry about getting laid off. I can't tell you how good that felt both after I was diagnosed and now that we are expecting. The baby is actually starting to move a little less now - I think she is running out of room! I can tell she is still breech though. She needs to flip in the next 3 weeks!
Melissa - Woohoo! Congrats on the loss! That is sad about the support staff, especially considering how long they had been there. I hope they can all find other jobs.
