Hi lovelies!

How are we all going. Me, I'm feeling good today - I didn't manage a sleep in, went to the gym and made it home again before 7:30am. I had a very quiet day today - did a lot of reading and pretty much stayed off line which probably did me the world of good. I couldn't avoid the work dramas though - a member of my team texted me 4 times through the day to complain about another person in my team. Just what I wanted!

So, official weigh in today, and I'm down 3 lbs. Not sure how, but I lost them in the last day or so - all of a sudden my weight just took a tumble. So that brings me to a total of 25 lost from my all time high, and 15 lost since Christmas. I'm certainly not complaining about that!

Back to work tomorrow. I can't say I'm enthused about that, but at least it's a 4 day week. Roll on Easter!

So, the menu today was:

B - porridge with apricots

S - blueberries and yoghurt

L - lamb salad rolll

S - pita crisps and tzatziki

D - leftovers from last night.

MJ - Love the hair and love seeing my friend! You are quite the cutey and look much like I imagined.:)

Well, I'm back on plan starting today even though I still don't feel 100%. I'm fighting the nasal congestion and I have a constant neck ache. I'm still on the allergy medications and trying to trust my doctor. But, in the back of my mind I keep thinking "sinus infection." The pollen count today is only a medium, but the forecast is for high counts on Wednesday and Thursday...and, we're not even in our highest blooming season!:dizzy: Anyways...despite still feeling crudey, I can't keep putting off my weight loss and health goals. I've been on a month long sugar binge and my body is not happy. Although the scales aren't showing a tremendous gain yet, my clothes are much tighter and I can see the weight gain in the mirror.

Today - my goals are to track my calories on TDP and to do 30 mins on the treadmill.

Good Morning! I took today off, just to have an 'extra' day....I haven't had a real vacation in way, way too long, but dh can't get anytime off yet, so I am taking a couple of long weekends this month to get me through (mentally) until we can take a week off.

nicolen--CONGRATS!!! 3lbs is awesome!

Rhonda--Ahh, thanks! So sorry you are still feeling icky. Good for you for getting back on track!

Hope everyone else is doing well!

I did ok over the weekend, not great, but not as well as I would have liked. So, back on track for me today too!

Alrighty....just found some new motivation to make sure I keep lifting weights! LOL!!! We are going to a wedding in May. I just ordered a dress that is sleeveless....I have a jacket that will look fabulous w/ the dress AND I am actually getting the dress "free"....I had a $10 coupon for Old Navy and the dress is 9.99! I already have shoes and accessories that will match. Sooooo......first I hope it fits! And, now I need to really keep it up...I have been saying for the past two summers that I want to be 'brave' enough to wear something sleeveless, so here's my chance!

Happy Monday chickies! It is sunny, warmer and breezy here, definitely a spring-like day. I hope it is as nice where you are. I've had a good week of South Beach Phase I, and decided to go for another week. If I don't make the whole week that's okay because I feel like the cravings are back under control. Then I'll add back some oatmeal and berries, yum.

I had a really nice weekend. The weather was great and I got a lot done on Saturday, then quite a bit of relaxing on Sunday. The week started out well, with my Monday morning telecon canceled and my business trip to Charleston canceled as well. I've got a busy week planned nevertheless, as my niece and nephew are coming for the weekend and I want to be able to plan fun stuff while they are here and be free from chores.

mj your avatar picture is so cute and I LOVE the hairstyle! You will look great in that dress.
Seems like allergy season is coming early this year Rhonda. I've been having issues the last week too, I feel like I'm drowning. I hope the medication starts working for you soon.
nicole, I'm glad you had a nice relaxing day today. 3 lbs is awesome! My weight loss is like that now too, nothing for a while, then poof, a few pounds gone. I haven't had a poof in a while though, it is almost TOM so I'm hoping for after...

Here's my day:
B: scrambled eggs with brussels sprouts and mozz cheese, coffee with milk
(this was gross. I thought I could hide the sprouts with the eggs and cheese, but I think I need to accept the fact that I don't like them and not buy them anymore.)
S: edamame, mozzarella cheese stick, V8
L: pork tenderloin over salad, mashed cauliflower
S: bean brownie, skim latte
D: white bean and turkey sausage soup, more veg
S: NSA skim hot chocolate

Hi, I'm new - this is day 3 for me, and everyone's menu just sounds so delicious. Is there a recipe thread?

For me, since I am starting out, I wanted to make sure I had a no fail meal. I work weird hours so I just made myself a batch of stir fry with chicken and about a cup of rice to last 3 servings and packing a cup of brussel sprouts (sorry schmoodle, they are my faves!). It's not real exciting, but a ton of veggies, some lean meat and hopefully filling to keep me from sneaking off to the vending machine at work. I am hoping to get a little more creative as I progress and figure out what I like or healthier alternatives to the things I normally eat.

Hi guys,

This is going to be a bit of a rushed post tonight as I've got to write an application letter for a new job at work. It's not likely that I'd get the job because the person currently doing the job is on secondment, but it's more about showing that I'm interested. And maybe finishing off the secondment. Anyway, I told my boss I'd write something tonight and show it to him in the morning as applications need to be in tomorrow.

I got my first compliment today! I ran into my old boss and she looked me up and down and said she noticed I was losng weight. I've been waiting for someone to notice, and someone finally has!

Apart from that, it was a quiet day. Had a good workout, had the regular one on one with the boss where I mentioned the texts and emails I got yesterday. I wanted it to be off the record, but seriously when I've taken a day off, I don't want to be dragged into all the dramas that are happening. He's aware of the issue and is going to move one of the people involved once a staff member finishes up at the end of the month.

Rhonda, you're still not well. That's certainly a nasty bug that you've had. Sending lots of get well thoughts your way!

MJ, yay for days off. And dresses to aim for. My friend is getting married in November and I've got a target outfit that I want to wear. It's a size 16, so here's hoping...

Schmoodle, sounds like your week has become almost manageable now. Yay for spring like weather!

Sushi, welcome! Looking forward to getting to know you! I'll split Schmoodle's share of the sushi with you, OK? ;)

Today's starting out hectic! I had an early telecon (which I am still on but my part is over), during which my DD1 called on the other line. She had to travel to a training class an hour away and got herself lost, so I was google-mapping directions for her and calming her down at the same time, as I was teleconing and taking DD2 to school. How's that for multi-tasking? Haven't had time for breakfast yet, but I wanted to pop in here and get my menu down. If the rest of the day follows the way it started, I will need a plan!
Oh, and I think I have or had a skunk in the crawlspace under the back of the house. The bathroom back there really stinks! I closed the door and will stay out and leave that for DH to deal with.

So,
B: oatmeal with blueberries, turkey bacon, coffee with milk
S: sugar snap peas with hummus
L: White bean and spinach soup, NSA fudgesicle

Thanks for the welcome ladies!

Today I had a cup of yogurt and a banana, grilled talapia, a cup of pasta and 2 cups of stir fry veggies. For dinner I am having a huge "chef" salad (minus the cheese, eggs and ham), with oil and vinegar dressing and baked tomato and basil tortilla chips (made them myself), taking some carrot and celery to snack on (and I really am looking forward to the celery!). When I come home, tonight (I work weird hours) I am giving myself permission to eat a cup of yogurt and some strawberries.

Also, I don't know if anyone has seen these, but last night when I went shopping for some healthy snack options (I was starving at work), I found probiotic pudding cups. Sort of like a pudding cup with all the good bacteria that yogurt has. I'm having one as a snack at work tonight, I'll let you know how I like it and if it stacks up in nutrition.

Okay everyone. I haven't been around, I was on a mini vaca stuffing my face for me and bf's 14 year anniv.

I'm afraid to weight myself. plus I"m constipated from taking too much NSAID's.

damn it.

but i"m back on track as of yesterday. Lane Bryant is having a right fit sale. 30.00!!!! so I bought a pair of blue 3's (I'm currently a blue 4) this way it won't cost me 50$ to get new jeans cuz I'm sure I'll need them in a couple of months.

I <3 right fit. :D

anyhow, I'm back on track and it feels good. all that celebrating made me feel pretty gross. :(

Well the skunk problem seems to have resolved. I think he must have been under the house, and gotten himself out. I was just worried he'd get into the basement from the crawlspace, but no sign of him down there. I don't even know what's on my agenda today, but at least I've got a menu.
so here's my day:

(I woke up hungry!)

lottie, those LBs are really nice jeans, just about all I've worn for years now. When they went to right fit, I discovered I was a red, which was the same cut as their old line, so I bought a bunch that were on clearance. I'm wearing them now, and I need some more so I just bought a few pairs on eBay. I didn't want to spend much because I hope I won't be in them too long! After that I'll have to find new favorite jeans. I guess that's a nice problem to have.
sushi, how do you make your tortilla chips? They sound yummy!

Hi everyone! Another quickie post from me....I'll get caught up as soon as I can. They are starting to move my office today (instead of next monday!), so now I literally cannot find ANYTHING I need.....

My knee is horrible. I have an appt w/ the lawyer for the stupid workers comp stuff tomorrow...hopefully he can get things moving. I HATE that it sometimes take a lawyer to get things moving....

HI chickies!! I've been in a real funk since DH lost his job. It's been a downward spiral of anxiety, fear and food. I've had a couple of anxiety attacks where I just couldn't 'catch my breath' and ended up breathing in a paper bag.

Today I got up and decided to try again and realize that I just have to take it a step at a time.

Here's my plan:

breakfast - egg white scramble, pnb toast, ketchup, 1/2 banana
lunch - open face turkey and lite mayo, lite green bean salad, 1/2 banana, pnb spoon
snack - cheese toast, applesauce
dinner - tomato soup, cheese toast, steamed carrots
snack - cereal, fruit, milk

MJ - LOVE your hair.

Hey everyone!

I tried logging on last night and every time I got the server too busy message. What happened over there on Tuesday night your time to make the site so busy?

Anyway, it hasn't been a good couple of days for me, topped off by the McDonalds I had for dinner tonight. No real reason that I can think of - it's been a busy couple of days, but that's not unusual for me during the week. The weather has turned nasty and maybe I needed some comfort food? I don't know, and in any case McDonalds isn't exactly comfort food for me. No excuses - I'm the one who has to get myself back on track again, and that starts right now.

I'm actually really tired tonight, and think I'll go to bed once I've posted here. It's a combination of bad eating, being a bit cold, a good workout today and not much sleep last night. That's not really a good mix, is it?

MJ, lets hope the lawyer will get things moving. I'm a little bit cynical when it takes a lot of time, especially the way lawyers charge! Hope things settle down for you soon!

Schmoodle, you are the queen of multi tasking. Yay for the smell going away - there's really nothing worse, is there?

Sushi, sounds like you've got a plan that works for you! How was the yoghurt?

Lottie, good for you for having a splurge - 14 years is well worth a celebration. And yay for getting back on track!

The menu today started out well, and went really bad. I thought about not posting it, but this is about being honest to myself and this way it's here for all time.

D - chicken mcnuggets, fries, large soft drink.

Not good at all.

I have a training session with yummy trainer tomorrow, so I'm going to organise my clothes for the morning, have a shower and go to bed. Yay Friday tomorrow.

I'm here my dears!!!! I'm totally on plan (day 164 tomorrow) and feelin fine ;) I'm just SO FREAKING BUSY with dance festival (my girls dance a lot) coming up next week that it's all I can do to just respond to posts and give a bit of support. I'll try to do better!!!

So menu for tomorrow:
B- ww weight watchers bagel with 1 T pb, 1 T jam and kiwi
L- 1 cup ground chicken and veggie pasta sauce, 2 cups brocolli and yogurt
s- pear and 1 oz almonds
D- 1 cup fajita chicken breast, 1 cup rice, 1 cup green beans
s- applesauce cup, 1 slice sprouted grain toast, 1 LC wedge

Just about 1700 cals.

Physically, I'm feeling much better these days. Mentally...well, I'm feeling just a bit stressed. I got very behind with my workload while I was sick and there are just not enough hours in the days to make a dent. But, like that little hamster in the wheel, I keep running.:dizzy:

Exercise has been a big fat goose egg and food has been whatever can be grabbed in a rush. This weekend, I need to sit down and plan meals for the week and my exercise schedule. Until then, I just need to try to make the best choices possible in food selection and no eat when I'm not hungry.

Hey chickies, I was doing well until yesterday when I had some cookies. It is TOM and I folded. Today will be better... Mostly because I'm out of the house most of the day and that does make it a little easier. I can only eat what I bring along and thank goodness I am never tempted to stop anywhere but Starbucks for an occasional skinny latte. Well, I'm working for a bit, then on the road to Quantico for a class this afternoon. DD has dance this evening, and I've got plenty of leftovers for dinner, so that's about it for me! I've got my niece and nephew coming to stay this weekend so I need to get things done around here tomorrow so I can play. And we are hosting a LAN party for local middle and high schoolers next weekend and I am in charge of coming up with enough screens - we are short a couple and Rent-A-Center will only rent by the week. Any ideas short of theft are welcome. I'll feel better once I get that figured out and off of my mind...
So here's my plan for today:
B: meatloaf on 1 slice rye toast with mustard and baby spinach (my favorite breakfast!)
S: sugar snap peas with hummus
L: leftover spaghetti squash pie
S: string cheese
D: leftovers - meatloaf, ss pie, spinach
S: half a banana with Greek yogurt

Have a good one ladies, I'll personalize tomorrow, but I'd better get moving now if I'm going to get showered and get DD to school on time!

Good Morning! I have been too busy at work, not working out enough, eating not so great...and I wonder why I am still seeing a gain on the scale?? So, back on track for me. I am NOT changing my ticker (yet), I am determined to get back to that weight asap!!!!

I met w/ my lawyer this am and the good news is, I don't have to go w/ him to court next week--he can take care of it. Yippee!!! The bad news is, he has not been getting all of the same notices that I have been getting, so he's a little 'out of the loop'...I gave him copies of what I have and I need to call the drs office today for more stuff. Hopefully, that will get the ball rolling for the surgery!

I won't be around tomorrow...I have an all day training.

Ok, well so much for a 'fresh start' today. Today has been terrible so far, but it stops NOW. I finally realized that tomorrow is the anniv of my dad's death (3 years) and I know that is related to why I am struggling right now. We still haven't buried him--he wanted to be buried at sea (he was in the Navy) and since we are in a war, it takes FOREVER to make that happen. Hopefully, sometime this year we will be able to do it, finally--just to have some closure.

I need to stop this before I go back to the 'old' way of doing things. I will NOT let that happen!!!!

Hi everyone!

Yay for Friday night! I'm really ready for the weekend. I'm trying to organise a team night out for next week and a couple of days ago asked everyone to get back to me by today and let me know whether they were coming and whether they were bringing a partner. Chased up the one person who had yet to respond and they told me they didn't know and could they get back to me next week. I've given him till Monday lunchtime and if he doesn't let me know I'm not including him in the booking. I need to get the booking made - 12 people plus partners in the team, so certainly the restaurant would prefer to know what's coming!

Had a good session with yummy trainer today and we've got a programme to work on. He's made a couple of changes to accommodate my bad hip, so that's great! Had an interesting time actually - he was at the front desk when I came in and I said good morning to the receptionist as I do every day. When he came back he told me that I'm the receptionist's new favourite - because I say good morning every morning when I come in. Politeness costs nothing - aren't people rude?

Tammy, how are the girls going with all the dancing? When does it start to slow down for you?

Rhonda, I know that the work situation doesn't make it seem possible, but do you think you need to have a couple of days off just to recharge your batteries? Going from being ill into that kind of madness isn't a lot of fun.

Schmoodle, sounds like you've got another busy few days ahead of you!

MJ, sounds like it's a difficult time for you. And yeah, not having a funeral must be hard. Hopefully things will get resolved for you soon!

Hi Friends,

I'm am so glad it's Friday! Phew. Today, I have quite a bit of work to accomplish, then I have to help sell the evil Girl Scout cookies tonight and tomorrow morning. This weekend, Hubby and I have decided to do some early spring cleaning. With all of the sickness and such over the last 6 weeks, we always seem to be just a few steps behind on the housework. We want to knock it all out this weekend so that we an concentrate on more enjoyable endeavors.

MJ - you have a very good reason for being down lately. Three years is really not a long time for these things. And, it looks like you are kind of in a holding pattern for part of your grieving process. We lost my Mom in December of 2004. Every year, I get the blues right around that time. It's tough. Also, you are dealing with your knee issues at the same time. Don't be too hard on yourself. All things considered, you are doing amazingly well.

Nicolen -I wish I could take a little time off. Unfortunately, my co-workers would have to shoulder my backlog in addition to their own. I really don't want to do that to them. Plus, in this economy, I'm very blessed to have my job. I need to shine and not do anything to jeopardize that.

I wasn't able to stick too closely to plan yesterday. the day just got away from me. I ended up running late, so I picked up a grilled chicken salad on my way to my class, but then hit traffic and ended up arriving just in time for the class, but no time to eat. So I gobbled a string cheese and drank some protein water, and didn't get to my lunch until 3:30. Of course when I got home I wasn't hungry for dinner, so I just nibbled something with DH, but hunger and exhaustion caused me to snack out before bed.
As a result I feel like crap this morning, but I will be home today and will do fine.
The class was bleh, but I saw some old customers who want me to do some more work for them, so I guess it was worth the trip. I'm buried right now, but a contractor never says no to more work. job security baby!

Oh Rhonda, I am so glad the cookie thing is over for us. We have our last cookie booth this weekend then that's it until next year. Unfortunately, I do have some boxes hanging around here still. I think I may donate them back to the cookie booth tomorrow.

Hope you all have a great pre-weekend and some fun planned this weekend. I hope to get a few things done, but also have some fun hanging out with the kids. Weather not looking so great, unfortunately.

Well, I survived the training today....it was ok, but way too long!!!! My knee really hurts today, after sitting all day, I got really stiff and swollen. I chose not to go to the gym and am going to rest tonight--ice and ibuprofen will hopefully do the trick!

nicolen--I w/ you...so ready for the weekend! I does amaize me that people can be so rude sometimes, good for you for not being one of them!

Rhonda--Good luck w/ the cookie stuff and the cleaning! I need to get on the ball w/ that too, but just haven't felt like it. Thank you. I know I am too hard on myself sometimes, but it helps to have someone else remind me that I need to back off sometimes.

Thanks for all of your kind words. I feel better today. I have decided that on Sunday I will make a corned beef and cabbage dinner just like my dad used to. I try to do things to remember him that don't revolve around food, but food was such a big thing, it's hard not to do something.

I have decided that I need to acknowledge that today and probably the rest of the weekend will be tough. But, it's OK! I am not going to stress about everything I eat (or don't eat). I'm NOT going to 'use' it as license to eat whatever, whenever either, but I'm not going to let it stress me out. I am going to do my best to make healthy choices and drink lots of water. Monday I will get back on track w/ my exercise and eating. It may not be the best plan, but it's a plan! LOL!!!

Hi everyone!

So, the day didn't start off too well - back to 240. It's due to those bad couple of days I had earlier in the week and I'm not going to worry about it too much because there's no way I ate an extra 14,000 calories. Somebody else better check my maths there - my degree's in history and I dropped maths as early as I could!

I'm a bit sore after the workout yesterday, but I went to the gym and did 50 minutes cardio. I saw someone I work with there - hopefully she doesn't become a regular there at that time, because while she seems very nice, she's the sort that will stab you in the back while she's smiling at you. Lots of game playing and other kinds of rubbish like that. I can be polite to her, but yeah there's no way she's going to become my workout buddy.

Apart from that, it's been a quiet day. Tomorrow is going to be a domestic day - lots of housework to do. I might go for a walk in the afternoon, but if I don't, well, I'm not going to worry too much!

Beverly, have a fantastic visit with your family!

Rhonda, good luck with the selling! It must be the time of year for that sort of thing - I noticed today that the Girl Guides were selling their biscuits/cookies as well. Thankfully, they don't find my place - I'm right down the back and upstairs as well, so most people tend to give up before they get to me. Except for the Jehovah's witnesses. They're very persistant!

Schmoodle, I hate days like that! But you're right - in these economic conditions, there's no way you can't turn down opportunities of more work.

MJ, hope the ice and ibuprofen does the trick for your knee. Sounds like you've planned a good approach to a difficult couple of days.

The menu today was:

B - porridge and dried apricots

S - apple

L - ham and salad sandwich

S - yoghurt

D - chicken stir fry with noodles and frozen mixed veg

Hi everyone! It is going to be a gorgeous day today, so if my knee feels up to it I'll take the dogs for a walk later. Tomorrow is the day my office is being moved at work.....I am looking forward to getting that done!
