GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!
Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, one long, one short:
Though you have some control over things outside yourself, the most powerful and important control you have is over your own thoughts and actions. Indeed, it is through self-control that your greatest possibilities can be realized.
People will attempt to tell you that you have no choice, that when certain things happen you must react in a certain way. But you most certainly do have a choice. You do not have to be a victim of circumstance, no matter what that circumstance may be. You can choose the way you respond, and you can take control of your circumstances by being in control of yourself.
Imagine all the things you could accomplish if you had a servant who obeyed your every command. The fact is, you do have such a servant and it is you. So what are you commanding yourself to do? How are you controlling the powerful and valuable force that is your life?
When you attempt to control others, they will resist you. Yet when you focus on controlling your own thoughts and actions, the positive possibilities are unlimited. You have within your complete control someone who is capable of many great things -- you. Use that control wisely and it can take you wherever you desire to go.

I am looking forward to this new week after all the hub bub at my house over the weekend and getting the new roof on. The people have filed out but I am left with a fridge loaded with illegal foods that I will feed to my family for the next couple of days. The roof looks great but I am already dreading this coming Saturday when we do it all over again for the garage roof. It won't take as long, hopefully, but it is all part of this upgrading we are doing. It will be like this for a month so I better get used to it! Windows after that , a new door and then the siding.
Chester, our lamb died yesterday, so we buried him under a tree in the *back forty* of our property. The kids took it well, all things considered, but I was sad for him. I was relieved that he didn't have to suffer anymore though.
The scale was not a friend to me this morning because of this weekend but I know it will just take a couple of days and my water intake to get it back to par. I barely drank water over the weekend, it was either coffee or pop.
3mills- WELCOME to the Board! SB is a great way of eating to follow and I am certain you will see wonderful results soon. Do you have the book and have you read it? Being well informed is the best start to this plan. There are a lot of people on this board who are knowledgable and will give you great advice. Just keep asking and I am sure you will find the answers. I am Canadian so I will leave the specific brands to your fellow Americans since we use different ones here. There are others from GA on the board and they will be able to direct you to the best stores to get certain foods. One word of advice from me is to measure yourself everywhere. Sometimes I lose inches and not pounds and I find it to be a great source of encouragement to me to add them up and see how much of myself has disappeared!
I will check in later because I have to get to this mountain of laundry that appeared over the weekend!

Good Morning!
It always cracks me up when I post before the people on EST!!! Man, you all must be sleeping in!
Had a productive day yesterday....got a new/used dishwasher installed by Dan the Man...very exciting after a year or more doing them by hand. Turns out the problem was a hose...not the main one, but the one connecting to the garbage disposable and a rubber washer that was worn out! Glad we didn't have to call a plumber in and pay $$$$.
As far as the carpet stains that Trixie the dog provided for me...they are not coming out...instead od red stains, they are now a light fuschia. I'm going to but some other stuff to throw in the carpet cleaner and see what miracles can happen.
My Mom came over for dinner last night. I made tacos with WW Toritillas and they tasted GOOD! For dessert we had SF rootbeer floats with SF ice cream and SF Rootbeer (Barq's) that tasted like heaven.
Gracious Sure sounds like you have a nice community of friends! Thta's great to get al that stuff done on your house, and nice to have friends that have the knowledge to do it! How long have you lived in Canada? Sorry to hear about Chester:( . I was hoping he would pull through, but now he's at the best place possible...frolicking around on green pastures with sun beams warming him! I've been doing my "side"job" for a couple of years now. My best friends mother owns a Balloon and Flowers business and she also provides clowns. It's most fun when we have a big event to do, and there is a bunch of us. My specialty is face painting...I don't like doing the balloon tricks, because I hate it when they pop. It's always a crack up getting dressed up and driving to where I need to go, because everyone that sees me waves and laughs, so you can't help but be in a good mood.
3mills WELCOME!!!!
You will find great support here on the board! It's hard to saw what brands, because everthing is so different state-to-state, but if you have access to a Trader Joe's you'll be in heaven! If not, try to find bread that is made with Whole Grain Wheat, or Whole Wheat and that has 3 grams of sugar or less per serving.
Sourdough bread is also "legal". Any brand of whole wheat pasta is usually fine...and Sugar Busters has their own brand of pasta, but it is usually more costly. The packaing is royal blue in color and is usually in the health food section of your grocer. Have you read the book yet? If not, get a copy from the library, or you an buy one used from www.half.com, or www.amazon.com also sells used books now. Everyone here is great with helping out on information diet and otherwise;)
Well....not sure what is on the agenda today, except some sort of BBQ later on. Kids are gone at friends....Dan is torchering our neighboring with the weed wacker at 6:44am. I'm sure that will enhance our friendships!

Good morning everyone. Hope you're all having a great week-end. Mine is quiet and boreing. My husband started a new job and its week-end nights, so I'm all alone with the dogs and cats. I did bake the Oatmeal cookies. They're just great... But I think I'd better not make anymore sweet stuff for awhile... It could get to be a bad habit. I'm trying this morning to just drink decaf coffee so I'll get away from the caffine. So I'm on slow mode...
Debilli- I loved you control message this morning. Its so true. And really makes you think...
Nancemeister- I'll bet you're still washing. Mine had to have a new motor about a year ago and sure was glad DH could do it himself... Oh I hate that about the carpet... Your dinner sounds great. My favorite food is homemade tacos and the rootbeer floats sounds wonderful...
Nascar Girl- It good to see you posting again and congrads on the 4 lbs..
gracious-Wow you are really doing the work on your house. I'm sure you'll be glad and proud when its all done... Oh poor lamb, I'm so sorry

Hi Gang: Had a great wk end, we garage saled all day Sat. we started at 8 in the morning and went to 4:30 in the afternoon. we had a ball. Hubby and DD are both really into it. Only problem is I'm a serious saler. and When I go I scout these sales out I'm in and I'm out. There's alway another one calling me. But with Dear Sweet Gotta love Him Hubby, He gets out coffee cup in hand and mosys over to the people and starts talking. Well I'm done and sitting in the car and he's still talking. :dizzy: I just start the car He thinks I'm to impatient, I keep telling him there calling me, My daughter says one of these times Mom's gonna leave ya and come back later. AS IF:o I guess it's a possiblity. Well then yesterday came home from church and those of you that remember me know how much I love my lawn mower. I got on that thing and mowed mine and the neighbors lawn and I just have a ball, DH says people going by must think I'm crazy cause I'm out there singing and waving my arms like i'm leading a chior, I tell him I am. Anyway If I have my way I'll do the other neighbors yard today. I just love it. Then the kids came over and we had a big Barbeque, No illegal foods here. we had a blast. toped it off with Fresh strawberries and SF Ice Cream. Man was it great. Only problem is I was going to BBQ again to day, but With the Last Sausage on the grill (for the Kiddies) It died. It's one of the old tanks. I've been wanting a new grill, now Iguess I get to get one. WooHoo! Well enough of me.
Jackie: Please tell your daughter not to give up when she gets tired of WW to then give SB a serious try. Usually by the time you get bummed out on a diet you don't want to try something else out. And I always get tired of WW realitively soon. Yes I tried it more than once.
Gracious: Wow I need a new roof to were waiting until labor day to have the gang over, don't know if I'm looking forward to it or not. I'm so sorry to see that you lost Chester, We get so attached to our 4 legged friends.
Nancy: Try Oxi clean on the carpet it ususally works for mine I use alittle on the carpet and then add it to the shampooer it really helps. Be sure to follow the diections.
Deb: Thanks for the Web site I'll show it to her. I don't think it will be a problem right now as she had a 3lb lose this wkand i happy with that. Hey I was praying for you on that shopping with Lauren think I hate going with Dayna, She wants the Jr. size close but she is a size large in a womens so she's alway unhappy. :( Man I would never of been able to fall asleep I hear you girl. My word. I don't blame you for being so upset I'd been walking the floor and then, Well lets just say I don't think Kyle would have gotten much sleep either.
Well I best go feed him, Have a good day everyone. Love to all Glory

Hi Everyone!
I have missed all of you while I have been away. First there was a trip to Charleston (wonderful place) then I had company for a week, then I came down with a sinus infection. I fought it for a week, then went to the doctor and he gave me Zyrtec-D and a Z Pak. I am on my fourth day of five doses and I wish I could say that I am well but I can tell that this will take awhile. When you cannot smell Vicks VapoRub, you know you are in trouble. I also cannot taste the food at all. Now, that is a really weird sensation. I can tell if it is hot or cold or crunchy, etc. but no taste. I wonder if this is from the head condition or the meds. Anyone know? Anyway, maybe something good will come of this no taste thing. I am finding that my weight is already going down but this might just be the Zyrtec. I have been staying on program, so, maybe this is my reward. I will try to catch up on the past 2 weeks of posts to see how everyone is doing.
I hope you all have a great day.

Hi everyone,
I'm just taking it easy today, relaxing on the holiday. I already went to the grocery store and bought my veggies for the day. I was really looking forward to some fresh steamed green beans, but the beans at the store look horrible! I ended up getting some frozen ones instead. Also, I picked up some fresh carrots today. I haven't had carrots since I've been on SB (over 5 months) so I am really looking forward to them. My understanding is that they are now considered legal by SB standards, so I aam really looking forward to adding them to my weekly menu. Now, I have always peeled carrots, but I was wondering if anyone has ever steamed them with their skins left on? I understand that much of the nutritional value of carrots is to be found in the skins. I dunno... I'm just so used to peeling them. The same for pears and apples. I guess I'm not getting the greatest possible benefit from eating those things since I peel them! Ugh... anyway, I was planning to have lentils tongiht for dinner and was wondering how those were classified. Are lentils condiered startchy carbs? I haven't lost any weight for almost a week so it is time to cut back on the legal carbs. Any info would be appreciated! Hope everyone is have a great day!

HiedieHo All!!!
Hope everyone is enjoying he weekend! Yesterday was a really nice one here and I had a good time. Our music in church was great. We dispensed with the gowns and wore red, white and blue. Our American Triology, with organ, orchestra and bells sounded great.
After church there was a picnic for the music members, there are 57 filling 77 positions. The picinic was held on a church member's estate, complete with pool, lagoon for fishing, a giant pavilion with huge trees providing shade. They have a cottage that is now the husbands music studio, a grand house and a greenhouse. Sounds very posh, but the people are just ordinary blokes and we had a grand time. Because of the trees it was very comfortable, I had told the kids I won't be out long as it was so hot. I wound up closing the party! I was able to stay OP, as there were haburgers, hot dogs, grilled veggies, I made a four bean sald with vinegar dressing, diet drinks. I was not in the least tempted by the array of desserts!!! Came home, had a swim (I don't put on a bathing suit in public!) and DS grilled so I know I ate a little more than I should but it was all legal foods. By then I could barely keep my eyes open.
This morning I went to the NH. Glad I did as the place was deserted. The office/reception area was closed, department heads were off and there was skeleton staff. So the people were glad to see me. Then a couple of ladies who come in and do the Rosary showed up. So if it wasn't for the volunteers there would have been nothing all day for the residents.
I wore my red. white and blue. The older generation is very patriotic! Some were upset because in their day Memorial Day was the last Monday of the month. They don't like the holidays being switched about willy-nilly!
Okay that's it.
MONET: Prayers for your sister and nephews.
BOB - Glad you are feeling a tad better.
NANCE: I doubled the pumpkin recipe and froze it. Had to as it is hard to resist. Going to the freezer gives you time to THINK!
3MILLS: Welcome. As others have said, items vary from state to state. In breads, Nature's Own has a sugar free stone ground whole wheat, they also make hamburger rolls that are really good, I like them just plain. They are supposed to make Hot Dog rolls too, but not available in my area. I use Hodgkins Mills Whole Wheat Pastry Flour, they also have a stone ground WW but it is coarser and dosen't work well in some recipes. For most baking I use Gold Medal Whole Wheat flour. The only WW pasta I can get here is Sugar Busters' that is a dollar more expensive than the Hodgkins brand I buy. Read labels, I was buying SB Mayonnaise until Deb pointed out you can use Hellmans' Low Fat. Many salad dressings have less than 3 grams sugar. It's the added sugar we worry about, not the natural sugars found in founds like milk, tomatoes etc. I borrowed book from library before worrying about investing in book.
Know I missed some, sorry. H ave a slight headache today going to go rest q little. Yesterday was a fun day but a long one!!
Take care all. Shirley

Good Monday Morning!
Just got in from doing my 4.5 miles - got a late start today, so the heat was worse than when I hit the pavement earlier in the morning. Also, the winds were pretty gusty out there and that sure didn't help. Hard to get in much jogging. Took me 50:50 today.
Not much planned for today. ELI is working:(, I'm on my way to p/u Michael from his friends house and then take him to another friends house later and Lauren has to clean her room up. I'm going to hit the grocery store and return the first dress we bought back to JCPenney's today-may tackle the closet I never got to get started on the other day if I find the time.
MONET, sorry to hear about your Sister - will put in a prayer for her. I hope all goes well with her tomorrow. I hope with this information you make sure you get yourself checked as well. I hope a speedy and uneventful recovery for her.
BOB, you'd of cried the other night! When we went to this art thing for the school at the judges chambers, ELI brought 4 gallons of Columbian - and whatever was left (there was quite a lot) he dumped down the sink - I know, you're heart be still!!! Feeling any better?
BETH, CONGRATS to your son and his team!!! Major league scouts are standing in line waiting, I hear;) Can't wait to hear if they win this Friday - wish him luck!
NANCE, didn't have a hard time thinking about you in a clown suit - wonder why? I think FLOYD THE FARTING DOG would be a good side-kick for you - stick a party hat on him and he's good to go! You mentioned an illegal pumkin bread - I posted a legal one on the board a few weeks ago-check it out:) Hope you can get out that stain somehow, try all you can try-you may be surprised to find something that will take it out-hope you gave Trixie a good talking to! You made tacos with WW tortilla's, soft tacos or crispy ones-if crispy, how'd you crisp them up? What's going on in your house today? Tell all I said hello!!!
GRACIOUS, so sorry to hear about Chester. How old was he? Was he your only lamb? Poor thing.
3MILLS, WELCOME TO THE BOARD! http://members.aol.com/eldemila/welcome_flowers.jpg
Glad you've decided to join our wonderful group and not to mention, follow a wonderful and healthy WOE. Breads and pasta-since you live in GA., I know you have not only Publix, but Harry's as well. At Publix, I buy the Nature's Own SGWW Bread. At Harry's I found some wonderful whole grain breads that were SB Legal. The later, I like more for toast, as they are too thick and heavy for a sandwich-the first one, love for sandwiches. Also, most HFS (health food stores) carry the EZEKIEL BRAND bread-I buy the green bag, and again, like this one for toast. As for pasta, any WW pasta is fine. AND, you have a board member who also lives in Atlanta, MONET. You may want to touch base with her at some point -she's a wonderful person to meet!
Feel free to ask any questions you may have, we're more than happy to help try to answer them.
AFTERNOON
Got sidetracked between the time I started and now, had to p/u Michael and bring him home then take him to another friends house, go by my sisters house, run to the HFS, grocery store and later p/u Lauren at the mall, go to the mall and gosh knows what else!
Continuing on...
NASCAR, have missed not seeing you around, glad to see you checking in and reporting a good loss since your last visit! CONGRATS!! So I see you're doing a bit of WW along with SB???
TONI, which recipe did you use for the OATMEAL COOKIES?? I know the feeling, can't make anything right now, have no self control to have them in the house!
GLORY, you and I would be very compatible at the garage sales, I'm in and out quickly and even do "drive by's" if I see there's nothing there that's worthwhile stopping for. I don't dare stay out as late as you though-most people down here are done by 1-2pm. Congrats to Dayna on her 3lb loss-told Lauren she better not gain a pound otherwise that dress will NOT zip up!!!
ROSE, glad to see your post, though sorry to hear you're feeling icky! Hope you are over it soon!!
DARAMUS, just remember, with the carrots, moderation, as when you cook them, their GI does go up some. I think peeling may depend on the carrot. If they look like they really need scraping as many seem to look like, I would, otherwise they may taste icky-but those organic ones, or ones that don't have the whitish look to them, you could probably just scrub them really well. I never peel apples or pears, the fiber and vitamins that are in the peel are what you want to keep. Lentils are wonderful! On SB beans are considered a protein, not a starchy carb.
SEF, sounds like you've had a nice and busy weekend, but that sure doesn't surprise me in the least-you're always busy!!!
CHICK, was nice talking to you today-looking forward to meeting you in person soon. I'm sure we'll chat before too long!!!
Okay, time for me to go get something to eat for lunch, had a mid-lunch snack that was delicious - some of the whipped cottage cheese with SF jello on top-yummy!!!
Have a great day, or at least what's left of it - will check in later!!

I have been busy scraping wall paper off the walls so we can prime and paint in the bathroom. I need my head examined! The project is turning out to be a bit more work than we had hoped for. We got the paint and the paintable wall paper for the kitchen, and all the primers and stuff. Thankfully, Laura, my 15 year old daughter, is persistant. She wants to get it all done fast, and is working hard. I also need to make cheese straws, curry triangles, and chicken sate' sticks for the wedding reception. No word as yet from the groom's mom about the ham. I told my daughter this morning instead of playing on his X box all day before work, they can come help do some of the cooking. If they are not willing to help, I am not going to care about the ham. Does that sound mean? :s:
3MILLS: I am in Atlanta too. I buy Natures Own whole wheat bread. As Deb said, Harry's has a lot of interesting stuff. Where are you in Atlanta? I am north east, near Peachtree Corners. If you are anywhere near Little Five Points, Sevananda Health Food coop has all kinds of great SB stuff! They have whole wheat couscous, and bulk bins of flours, pastas, and other goodies. They have a great selection of the Terra brand sweet potato chips too. I just wish it was closer to me!
GRACIOUS: I am so sorry about your lamb. I know it is hard when a pet dies. Some of the most traumatic times I went through with my kids were when their hamsters died. My son is really sensitive, and I thought his heart would break! Now he is almost 24, and still gets really attached to his pets. He had domestic rats, and they died too easily. Thankfully, he now has cats. They last a lot longer... Was Chester your only lamb?
NANCE: I mentioned to my daughter that you do clowning as a fun side job. ( I keep trying to talk her into trying something like that, cause she is really good at it!) She wanted me to ask you what balloon animals you can do? That is her specialty. She does balloon animals for the big fall festival the church has, and took balloons to Mexico on a mission trip last summer with her youth group. She learned the Spanish names for a lot of animals! :) I think if she finds she knows more balloon animals then you do, she might be willing to look into pursuing it! (hey, she is 15, what can I say?)
DEB: Reading about how you were shopping for a dress for Lauren made me remember I still don't have a dress for the wedding. Less than two weeks too! I sure hope I can find something. I hate shopping for clothes tho! Glad Lauren found something she liked that her mom liked the price tag on! ;)
YELLOW: Good to see you! I have missed you!
DARAMUS: I have heard it is better to peel some root vegetables, and carrots was one of them. I may be wrong tho. I love carrots, and was really glad to find I could eat them!
SEF: That sounds like quite an estate you had that picnic on! I too don't wear my bathing suit in public! I do love to swim in my pool tho, even tho the water is freezing still! Actually, it feels pretty good! Thanks for your prayers for my sister.
GLORY: I wish you lived near me! Our lawn mower broke this weekend, and my hubby had a terrible time trying to get it fixed! The frame had gotten rusted, and the wheel broke off! If you were here, you could just mow our lawn too! Do you just enjoy the riding mower, or do you like mowing period?

Monet, Debelli, Toni and Nance- Thank you for the sympathies regarding Chester, our lamb. He was only 2.5 months old and was really still a baby. Here is the part you might freak out about...but you have to remember that we are rural folks now...we were raising Chester for meat. Now I know some of you city folk won't like that but hey, I know all SB'ers eat meat, you just buy yours from a store. The thing is, we wanted him to enjoy his life while he had it. He was to be taken to the butcher for the deed, as it were. We are still saddened by the loss of him but of course it is different in the sense that he was not an actual *pet*. The death of my son's budgie bird was taken much more to heart with many hours of tears and sorrow. So, confession over...hope y'all still love me! :^:
Nance- I have lived in Canada my whole life...I was like, born here. :D I was raised in Southern Ontario though, just North of Toronto and moved out East to New Brunswick just over a year and a half ago. That is why this rural farm type thing is new to us as a family. We are enjoying it very much and my kids adore their huge yard and the woods behind us. The folks that helped with the roof are from our church and they were so helpful. I guess when the Pastor's roof needs shingling we have a ready and willing group of people to call on. It is indeed a blessing.
Toni- I really am looking forward to all this work being done. I like the inside of our house but thought the outside was rather..well, ugly! :o Now it is going to look fantabulous!
GloryIBe- It is a long day, lots of people and lots of work both inside the kitchen and outside on the roof but you will be so happy when it is done. Better a big group like that over to help than having to pay for the labour if a company did it for you! Consider it good stewardship and a wonderful time for fellowship.
Yellowrose- Welcome back! I was wondering what happened to you. I hope you are feeling better soon. I know what it is like to have an illness drag on..it really makes you feel run down all over!
Okies....gonna hit the shower and get more laundry put away. I have to make some egg salad tonight for sandwiches tomorrow. My 6 year old has a picnic with his class and we are going with him. I will be toting along the kids I babysit , as well as my 3 year old so I hope everyone is well behaved! Have a wonderful evening.

Afternoon!
What a lazy weekend! I took a 2 hour power nap:o !!!! I've gotten a few things done...but have been enjoying the quiet with the kids gone :s:
Toni Whose recipe did you use for the oatmeal cookies, cause the ones I made didn't turn out so hot!
Glory I guess I'll have to break down and try some of that
Oxyclean! Hope it's a miracle worker!
Daramus Lentils should be legal, they certainly are healthy! You are right about the peeling of fruits and veggies...there is alot of nutrients in the skins!
Sef Sounds like you had a lovely time at the picnic! You must have a great group of friends at your church, you're always on the go go go!
Deb The taco's were soft. I just heat them directly over the
stove until they are heated. I'll have to check out the pumpkin bread recipe....why is it about 6 months away from Turkey day I start craving pumpkin? I think Floyd the Farting Dogs name should be changed to Floyd the Barking Dog...since he's gotten older he thinks he's all that!
Monet I don't do Balloons! What kind of clown am I? I hate it when balloons pop...scares me! I face paint kids! They love me, because I do all sorts of cool stuff and let them get more than one thing done!
Gracious I understand rural life....and still like you even if lamb chops were on the menu! Good luck at your picnic tomorrow, sounds like you will have your hands full!
Gotta go pick up the son....so much for the quiet!

Only 3 more days of work, then I'm off for 10 days!!! I think I might be able to handle the rest of the work days. :) I still haven't packed much, but have actually gotten started which is a surprise, cause I usually pack the night before we leave. :D
Looks like everyone on the board is doing well. I didn't like the question much this week cause it made me realize that I have not been OP as much as I should be. I've been stressing & eating stuff that I shouldn't. But that was last week. :D So far, I have been completely OP yesterday & today & hope to keep it that way.
Well, don't have much time, but wanted to say hello.

Good Tuesday Morning!
Not a good Tuesday morning down here weather wise. Woke up to rain, thought it had stopped so started to get dressed to go pound the wet pavement-started to rain again-looking icky out there. Hoping there's a possibility it will clear up a tad to let me go in the next half hour, but I think it's wishful thinking:^:
ELI is off today so we're treking up to Broward and running some errands beforehand before heading home a bit earlier than I'd like. I have to see if the tailor that we go to can alter her dress by Thursday-nothing like the last minute-hate it!
Scale is still at 124. I went 5 days with no starchy carbs - let's just say I made up for it yesterday. Not sure what got into me, mid-cycle in 3 days maybe? Today's another day. Not trying to cut the starchy carbs out, but was definitely eating too many before and wanted to see if I could do without-surprisingly enough, those 5 days I didn't miss them at all. I'm going to see if I can do it again.
I thought this was an interesting article I found on the web that I could post for our TUESDAY TIPS:
Fry Me to the Moon
Although most North Americans probably fry a lot of their foods, this is not necessarily the best way to cook. To many people, frying is putting food in a pan, along with butter or oil, and then, well, frying it, usually for a prolonged period of time. Prolonged heating can destroy nutrients, and the butter or oil used to fry is absorbed in varying degrees by the food, so you get a bit more fat than you may think.
Often touted as the healthy way to fry, and to cook in general, is stir-frying. This technique, used extensively throughout Asia, means cutting food into small pieces, putting them in a pan with very little oil (or using a sauce as oil), and cooking them very quickly at a very high heat. Because it is one of the fastest ways to cook, vitamin-rich veggies, such as broccoli and carrots, retain more nutrients, as well as their texture and color (although the high heat probably zaps the enzymes). More importantly, stir-frying does not require a ton of fat to bring out the flavor of foods. A typical "French-style" recipe for sautéed chicken breasts calls for an entire stick of butter, plus whatever the sauce calls for. A stir-fry recipe, however, requires only two to three tablespoons of oil. This relatively small amount of oil not only cooks the chicken, but any veggies you may want to throw in!
There are ways to control the amount of fat you get through oil absorption in cooking. The veggies and meat you fry will absorb oil. How much depends on the food. In a study published in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association, the authors show that vegetables drink up the oil used in cooking. More specifically, coarsely chopped eggplant cubes absorb most of the oil because eggplant contains numerous air cells, which soak up oil like a sponge during frying. (Flattening the eggplant with a heavy weight squeezes the air out of the cells and reduces the amount of oil the vegetable can absorb.) Leafy vegetables with small stems absorb slightly more oil than those with large stems. Nonleafy vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, and finely shredded carrots absorb about as much oil as leafy vegetables. Gourds, peas, and green peppers absorb about half of the oil used in cooking. The amount of oil absorbed by various cuts of meat depends on their fat content; the higher the fat content, the less oil is absorbed. It seems obvious that you should consider the type of oil used when stir-frying. Unsaturated fats, such as those found in many vegetable oils, would be healthier than saturated fats, such as those from animal sources.
Oil temperature should also be considered. When oil burns it becomes toxic and free radicals are produced. When oil smokes, you should throw it away.
In another article published in The Journal of the American Dietetic Association, nutrient retention was compared when beef strips were stir-fried, broiled, and microwaved. The report notes that the true retention of vitamin B6, iron, zinc, and magnesium were significantly higher in strips that were cooked by stir-frying than in those cooked by microwaving or by broiling. Although many people today are not necessarily big beef-eaters, this tells us something about the relationship between food preparation and nutrients.
MONET, it's not like you don't have enough to do with the wedding that you have to start the wallpaper job? Woman, you can't sit still! Not only that, you don't have a dress YET? I thought I was the queen of procrastination, but on this, you take the cake - well, okay, I have to admit, when I needed a dress for my Nephew's Bar Mitzvah I waited til the last second too, trying to lose another pound or two-got a dress at Burlington 1 1/2 weeks before. If you have Dillards or Groupo USA -even JCPenney's has a huge selection, check those places out-they had a ton of nice dresses that would be appropriate-after looking with Lauren, I came to know who had what around here. Good luck!
GRACIOUS, I didn't freak out about Chester and you eating him at all. Actually, ELI would loved to of come to dinner if you had eaten him. He's always told me about a favorite dish where they stuff a whole lamb. We actually love lamb and use a lot of ground lamb when I can find it really lean. So, that doesn't surprise me much-wouldn't hold that one against you:)
NANCE, glad to hear you got a bit of rest yesterday. Hey, I tried a little OXYCLEAN on that old barf stain in Lauren's carpet, seemed to help-going to look at it under good lighting today-did it in the eve and really can't see it well-may be worth a try on the stain Trixie did!
MELF, glad to see you'll be on your way in two more days. I hope you'll have a safe and pleasant trip and that you'll have the chance to meet up with TRANQUIL & HAPPY-remember, pictures are a must. Sorry you don't like this weeks question-not that it had any underlying motives, but I guess getting one to think about it is really a good idea.
Well, I'm out to go check the weather again, otherwise, I'll just hop in the shower and get ready early to go out for the day. Oops, I think not, just heard thunder:( Maybe I can get one in after we come home this evening:shrug:
Please remember, TONIGHT IS CHAT AT 9:15PM EST Hope to see you all there!!!!
Have a wonderful day!!!

Morning! The wallpaper is all off the walls, and they are almost all primed! Just some edge work left, which Laura will do when she gets up. I promised her she could sleep late this week, since it is her first week of summer vacation, but my late, and her late are NOT going to agree! :s:
GRACIOUS: You were raising Chester to eat? That sounds, well,........ delicious! But it reminds me of a story. When my mom was a girl, her dad raised chickens. One year, he decided to also raise a turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey followed him around, and acted like a pet dog or something. The traveling butcher came the week of Thanksgiving, and butchered the turkey for my grandmother. She plucked it and prepared it for the big dinner. My mom said my grandfather sat down to dinner, and then would not eat! He sadly said he just kept thinking about the turkey's big eyes, and his following him everywhere around the yard! Same thing happened to some friends that raised chickens. When the rooster, named Solomon, got old, the mom butchered him and put him in the freezer with her other old hens. She said the night she fixed him for dinner, no one would eat, since they all figured out it was Solomon. So I think the moral of the story is, don't name the animals destined for the table!
DEB: Yes, I am definitely a last minute person. I do work well under pressure. This is a bit more than I would like actually, but it will all work out. Thanks for the tip about Dillards. We do have two here, and I will check out their selection. Someone else had mentioned them, so with your recommendation as well, I will try and get there today, after I try to get in to see the doctor.
NANCE: I will pass on to Laura that you don't do balloons! Face painting sounds like more fun to me too! I always got that job at festivals, since I was an art teacher. I am not a painter tho! But the kids were not picky! Do you do the white face painting, and wig and full clown makeup? They had clown classes at a puppetry conference I went to once, and I was so tempted to take them! If no one could recognize who I was, I would have a blast acting silly! :dizzy:
MELF: I hope you have a great time on your trip! Wish I could escape and go with you! How would that look? The mother of the bride runs away from home less than two weeks before the wedding?
Well, I have tons to do, and I need to accomplish something! I hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning!
Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I sure did....very relaxing! Mom came over for dinner again last night and we had bbq'd pork ribs, green beans, and some killer bread from Trader Joes that I managed only to eat one piece of!
DebWhen I went to Trader's yesterday....it was trouble with a capital "T". I went first thing in the morning, the store was stocked like I have never seen it before, and I went to town shopping! Where were you??? Hope you get your walk in. Send your rain my way! We get less than 2 inches a year here, but my new fixation...Ferndale in No. Cal. gets 36 inches annually. Dan is aminable to moving after he gets some more time in at his job so he can fluff and fold his resume. Faris is okay with moving, and Nadia wants nothing to do with it. We might go up there next month, and I might drag Nadia along, so she can see how neat it is up there!
Monet I do the full clown look...white face makeup, paint myself, wig...the whole nine yards. Kids were pulling my hair on my wig and asking me "Did you feel that?" and I'd say "Yes", then lightly tug their hair and ask them "Did you feel that?", and they'd giggle! Tell your daughter if she does it, that clowns don't eat or drink...it breaks the illusion if you see them doing something human! Why does it not surprise me that you teach art? You are so creative...if we lived near each other we'd be good pals!
Melf Where are you going on your vacation? If you are like me, any get-away is a good get-away!
Well, time to get ready for work...at least it will be a short week!
Have a great day!

My husband has been on vacation this week so I haven't had as much online time as I would like. But it's been nice having him around.
My weight is on this goofy roller coaster ride this week. WAY up at night and down in the mornings. I think after vacation I will get extra serious again and see if that gets me anywhere.
I've been reading and enjoying all your posts. Sounds like everyone is soooo busy the last week or so. Have a super day!

Happy Tuesday Gang,
Boy am I behind. I hate that my puter is broke at home and have to wait to I get to work to read all the posts.
Not to happy today, the old scale is up 2 lbs. I really didn't stray OP too bad with food. Never touched the 5 graduation cakes and 1 wedding cake. Didn't touch any illegal foods, except some meatballs wihich probalby had some sugar in the sauce and some chicken tenders. Didn't dring enough water and way too much vodka.
The wedding was beautiful. Glad my DD didn't see it. Her's will benothing like it. It was fun. I received a lot of compliments on my wt loss over the weekend.
Deb, Really needed your MM post. I need to take control. I plan to stay 100%OP, no drinking of anything. I am going to wrong way and I don't like it. I'm not taking this wt off 2x. You have proven you can do this and keep doing this. Really need to drink water today.
Since I haven't read since Friday, I have doulbe posts to some people. Sorry about so long.
Mama, Congratts on selling your house. I worried over each step, the sale, the appraisal, the loan, the closing. I guess I just like to worry. Carrots are legal unless you eat a ton of them. I think raw is ok, but not cooked. COrrect me if I'm wrong someone. Hear you all had some pretty bad weather over the weekend, Everyone OK?
Horsechick, Sorry your cold isn't any better. When will you have the results on the MRI? Nothing serious I hope.
Deb, Shopping for a party dress. Oh my I can remember those days. Someone always got mad and usually came home empty handed. Hope you have fun and success. I have decided to totally give up any drinking for awhile. I need to get back 100% OP. I don't have any problem with the food. But I do love to party. GLad to hear your back at 123. Congrats! Just goes to show what 100% OP can do. We all need to take an example from you. I am.
Heartmom, Glad you checked in. Hope you had a great weekend.
Tranquil, Does Carraba's have duram semolina pasta? What did you eat other than salad?
Mel, Didn't see the 48 Hours, but sounds maddening. The story on the hormone that makes you regain your weight has been on all weekend. Nothing like telling you you're doing this for nothing. We al know that this is a WOL forever. I know I have to exercise everyday. You have to change your ways not just for a short time. Glad we found SB and know better.
Kimmy, hope you are feeling better by today.
Red1, Never had a tatoo. MY DH wants the chain around his arm. But he hates needles. I keep saying that when I lose all th is wt I am going to get one on the small of my back. Doubt that I ever will. Too much pain. To permanent. It's the thing now. But very costly. I hate to part with my money for something frivalous like that.
Sef, I take the Celebrex 2x a day too. Sometimes I forget to take it at nite, and boy can I tell the difference the next morning. I also take Arava and methotrexate. I was hoping that losing all this wt would help and I could get off some of these meds. But I don't know. My feet are killing me today. I made pumpkin muffins once. They were ok, but not great.
Fillise, Hope to be hearing more from you in 11 days!
Daramus, I think checking into the gym is a great idea. I love working with weights, but I am running out of things to do at home. Maybe this winter I may do the same.
Monet, I am sorry sorry to hear abut your DS. Breast cancer is much more curable today. I pray things work out for her and you too. I hope she won't have to miss the wedding.
Beth, Congrats to your boys. Sounds like they are good athletes. That's great. Hope they won Friday!
Nance, shame on you, a potato and corn? Were they good??? You a clown? What a perfect choice for you!.
Gracious, Sorry to hear bout the poor lamb. Glad he didn't suffer too much. You better check the temp on those eggs, this time you might have hard boiled in lieu of smashed. LOL
3 Mills, Welcome. SB is a great WOE. Don't know anything about PCOS, but this WOE will help you lose your weight. You will get a lot of support and friendship here. WW pasta is legal and 100% duram semolina is supposed to be. SGWW bread. I sue Grant's Farm. SOme people get Natures' Own. We can't get it here in Ky. Good luck.
Nascar Girl, Welcome back. Down 4 pounds WTG!
Nance, Dan is doing yard work at 6:44 am? Are you all nuts? Don't answer that. I can't imagine not having a DW. I still wash all my pots and pans, but I love the DW just to hide all those glasses that appear hourly.
Toni, what a bummer that your DH has to work weekends. I would hate sleeping alone.
GloryIBE, Sounds like you had a busy weekend. I love the story about cutting grass. We had a guy on the news last nite that is 88 and cuts 17 yards. He just rides along and if someones grass needs cutting he cuts it. My DH loves to cut too, but our yard is beg and it takes a toll on him.
Yellow Rose. Sorry to hear you have been sick. Usually a Z-Pak makes you eat liek crazy.
Daramus, I didn't know carrots had skins???
Sef, WTG on staying legal with all the food. Sounds like you had a great time.
Monet, You are too busy girl. Are you crazy? I can't believe you do so much of this stuff yourself. You are truly an inspiration. Hope DS is doing ok.
Melf, Sounds like yu are going to have a ice long vacation. Hope you can stay OP. Have fun.
Have a great day. Hopefully will check in later. I have been doing this for 2 hours and need to get busy here. Boss is circling.

Hi All:
Had a really wonderful weekend.... First, shopped my heart out for DS - and got all kinds of goodies, and then found out that Yankee Candle was discontinuing a label, so all the candles with that printed label were ½ off - so my house smells good. Saw the new Star Wars and loved it..... Our picnic yesterday was rained out - so we ate in the house and watched the Harry Potter video we bought. But most of all, I spent some wonderful quality time with my DS. He leaves to his Gramma’s for a couple of weeks
and I am going to miss him dreadfully!!!
Monet - Sorry about your sister’s news - with today’s medicines and technology, your sister has a lot more positive on her side!!! So wishing her a speedy recovery!!!
Deb - Carrabas has grilled foods - so you could have just about anything - fish, chicken, Steak - and then they have salads that are delicious = my favorite has the grilled seafood in it with a delicious vinaigrette dressing....their eggplant is baked - not breaded and fried, so that is legal too! Along with they always have a choice of steamed veggies.....
Nance - Golf Cart Parade sounds absolutely SILLY!!!! hahahahha.....You do need out of there!!! Hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend - Hawaiian Chicken sounds
yummy.... I saw at the store slabs and slabs of ribs, made my mouthwater.....
Gracious - Sorry to hear about your lamb....good luck with the eggs! Always nice to be the proud Mama :)
Kimmy - Hoping you are feeling better!!
3Mill - Welcome to the board - great group with great support!!!!
Glory - that is a real hoot - mowing everyone’s yards!! Hahaha - well, WTG on having a legal bbq!!! Too bad you are so far away!!! After the rains we had yesterday my yard
has sprouted all over the place = though my Stargazer Lillies are absolutely gorgeous if I may say so!!! :)
Yellow - Glad you had a wonderful time in Charleston = I love that place myself! Sorry about your sinuses, but Congrats to the weight loss!!!!
Sef - Your get together at that Estate sounded wonderful!!!!
Country - I am on your roller coaster as well - I am up one day, down the next - I dont want to get on the scale b/c of it!
Well to the gym at lunch time, walking tonight - and that is my plan for this week - gym at 12 and walk at 7 = every day!!!

The picnic went well and all the kids behaved. The blackflies and mosquitos are out in droves today. I remember last year (my first spring here) when the bugs were so bad for 2-3 weeks that I barely left the house, except to run to the car. I guess it is starting again but at least this time around I know it is only dreadful for about 2 weeks...so I will keep the end in sight.
Tranquil- Two weeks to grandma's house? I am sure he will have a wonderful time but you will miss him a lot. Try to enjoy yourself as well though, knowing he is with someone who loves him and will dote all over him!
Jack-K- Carrots are considered legal now but the glycemic index is less on raw than cooked. If you do cook them make sure that you do not overcook them so you keep the gi down.
Monet- I know what you mean but I just *had* to name the lamb. But we often referred to him as *the lamb* anyway, kind of like how we call the youngest kid in the family *the baby* all the time. Hope you aren't driving yourself over the edge with all the extra work you are doing!
Daughter want to play a game so I better go. Sorry for missing others but of course playing with her is very important! :)

Hi Everyone!
I made some shopping blunders the past few days. Bought the wrong bread....can't find legal salad dressing in the store. Any suggestions? Are there legal ranch dressings?
Then the biggest shopping blunder was buying Fifty50 choc chip cookies....totally forgot about the SGWW factor. Oh well my son will eat them. I did find low sugar smuckers jelly, that was encouraging!
I wish I new where to get all the stuff you guys listed on the favorite foods thread!!
I think it may take a while for me to find all the right foods.
I am in Lower Bucks County, PA. A Philadelphia suburb.
I believe there is a Fresh Fields around here.....if anyone is familiar with that store.....hopefully I can get some good bread and stuff there!
I'm gonna keep plugging away at this WOE.....I really think its right for me.

Hi everyone,
Hope everyone had a safe a great holiday! I fixed my mother catfish courtbouillon for her and my step-dad for their lunch yesterday. After I filleted the catfish and got it cooked I couldn't eat the first bite of it. I kept smelling the raw fish smell. I guess thats all part of being pregnant. We only got an inch of rain when it rained Sunday. It looks like its going to rain today. The farmers really need good rain. The corn they had planted has already burned up and they had to plow it under. They can't plant anything else until they get a really good rain here. Looks like a lot of them are going to suffer again this year with their crops in Louisiana. Unless we get we get some major rain a lot of them are going to lose their farms again this year. Some from last year are losing their homes this year. Well I hope everyone had a great weekend. We stayed at home most of the time. My hubby made my step-dad a gallon jug of choc candies to get the choc almond bark out of the freezer and out of the house. The baby is growing more and more everyday and kicking more every day.
We got a baby bed but my cousin can't find the screws to put it together. A lot of good a baby bed without screws is going to do us. Hope she finds them before the baby comes. I picked my first cucumbers yesterday. Boy were they good. Beats store bought any day of the week.
My hubby got a kitten about 3 weeks ago for my little girl. It is a mess. I think its crazy. It hops and jumps straight up in the air when you walk by it. I can't touch it because I'm allergic to them. The people we got it from found them in the creek by their swimming hole. Someone tried to get rid of them by drowning them. Now thats the worst thing anyone could do to a defenceless 1 1/2 week old animal. If they didn't want their cat to have kittens they should have had it fixed. Well I better get off my soap box..it just makes me so mad someone could do something like that.
I am still doing great with my eating and I even lost another lb. I don't want to gain that much so I'm careful to eat what I need for the baby and myself without hurting either one of us. Welcome to the newbies and congrats to the losers this week early I probably will not get to post tomorrow.
Everyone have a great day!

HiedieHo All!!!
I am so excited. Melf is coming!!!! Melf is coming!!!! It will be so great to meet. Pictures, yes!!!! A full report afterwards!!
Yesterday the headache just kept getting worse. I was taking Tylenol (not worth the powder to blow it to -----), but that never helps anything! Finally went to bed with ice pack. Three and half hours later I was more human! Did not go out in pool, just didn't feel I needed to bounce around. So yesterday was sort of a lost day!
GLORY: I used to be like you only with the snow blower. In '67 we bought a Simplicity tractor with mower and snowblower attachments. I love the snow, I would do half the neighborhood and they go three blocks over and do my MILs. It was so much fun!!! Mowing the lawn I just did ours and Mom's. Lawns are in hot weather you see!
GRACIOUS: We still love ya! Your roofing experience reminds me of the Amish. They always had barn/house raisings and massive repair jobs like yours. It always looked like work but fun too!!!
NANCE: The pumpkin recipe is the one Deb is talking about, she put on Board. She said it wasn't overly sweet and I added a little more agave. Then because it called for 1 c. pumpkin and I was doing double, and a can is not quite two cups so I added extra applesauce. You know how we great cooks are...we don't measure and we improvise, right?!? Your Golf Cart Parade made me laugh. My DILs parents just moved to a development in FL that is on two golf courses. They were invited to a wine and cheese party and drove there in Mike's golf cart! DIL was blown away by that concept!
DEB: I often stir fry using a combination of a tad of oil and broth. It cooks so fast it doesn't get boiled and saves fats and calories.
JACKK: My DH was on Methotrexate years and years ago as a special study. It was used as a chemo drug and they noticed that patients who had psoraisis real bad improved while on the therapy. So Marine Hospital had a grant for special study, they took DH as a special case as he had psoraisis so severe. It worked wonders! Now it is used for that and so much more.
CHRISB: You might want to try the Smucker's Simply Fruit, 100% Fruit. Not because it is sugar free, but because it tastes sooooo much better than the Low Sugar variety. Even Polaner is better than the LS stuff. My DB lives in Doylestown, when visiting him we went over to New Hope, that is a fabulous place. There's also the Buck's County Playhouse. I do miss my PA!
Okay folks! I got to get busy and write a couple of articles for WA and HFH. I'm not getting it done chatting here! Gotta go!
Take care.

:o Wow - I just finished a workout of a workout and boy do I feel Darned GOOD!!! I peddled 30 minutes, Intermediate Level, 8 miles BABY!!!! Whooaaaa Whooooooo!!!!!! A TM cool down and a few minutes on the weights - I have to pack it in to my lunch hour - so not much time..... But the blood is pumping..... and I signed up for two weeks of a personal trainer to get me on the right track and routine! Tonight I am walking with the hound, boy on his inline skates, and Gram....no excuses - nightly walk every week night that is NOT raining. And lunch was a healthy salad, breakfast was 2 pieces of ww toast - dry, and dinner is another salad!
For those Mama's who have started this woe and kids have been forced to join - DS has lost 10 lbs!!!! He still has a good 15 more to go before he will be a trim and healthy tike! He even feels better about himself!!!
Jack-K - Oh you can find a lot to eat at Carrabas - their grilled chicken is out of this world, as well as the seafood! You can see them pan sear stuff too - they cook in an open kitchen - pretty neat place.... But I don't know what kind of pasta they use - I did not even look at the pastas or consider them when I was there ;)
Gracious - I plan to save money on groceries while DS is gone - :smug: This will be the first time he has ever been to this gramma's house by his lonesome and she lives out in USA Farmland in Southern Illinois! I will be driving over there on the 13th to pick him up and bring him home - 12 hour drive.
So Everyone Have a Good Afternoon!!!!

Howdy Everyone!!
I'm sooooooo exhausted. I came home from work at 8:30 and tried to go to sleep, but my dad called and needed a favor, so I ended up staying awake. Here I sit wide awake and at 5pm it will be 24 straight hours. Good thing I'm off tonight and tomorrow, I don't think I'll regain consciousness until then!!!
Jack-K - I drew the tattoo I have on my back, it's a Celtic Knot. It's right between my shoulder blades and is about 3 x 3 inches. It didn't hurt a bit. I drew a tribal/celtic piece for my lower back, but wanna get down to 150 before I do that... it's my goal gift to myself! Tell DH that it doesn't hurt!!! I have that tattoo, plus quite a few piercings and none of it hurts like people try to say it does. I love them all and don't regret any of them.
Deb - You shoulda been here yesterday. We had the annual Cotton Row Run, my dad is 50 and he ran in the 5K for the first time this year (he just took up running 6 months ago!!) and he did it in 27 minutes. I'm not sure how far that is in miles, or if that's a good time... but I'm proud of him for finishing. He talked me into getting ready and doing it with him when they have the Halloween Run in October. I walk 2.5 miles, but I've never run it... I guess I'll start sloooooooooooow!!!
ChrisB - That Low Sugar stuff is ICKY after you taste the ALL FRUIT varities!! My entire family will only eat the All Fruit by either Polaner, or even Kroger makes a really good store brand. I don't buy natural peanut butter, that crap is just too hard for me to deal with. I buy 'Simply JIF'... it only has 3g of sugar per serving, making it legal! Don't worry... you'll find it easier to shop once you get the hang of which brands are ok. I shop at Kroger mostly, or Publix... and you can get "Natures Own Sugar Free SGWW bread" which is awesome bread... there are a LOT of salad dressings out there that have less than 3 grams of sugars in them per serving... just look for them. I actually just use regular old dressing. I figure I honestly don't use so much that it's going to make much of a difference. I also always keep around some Dannon Lite 'n Fit yogurt... I love that stuff. It's great in the freezer, makes you think you had icecream! LOL!! Just stick with it, it gets easier! I used to question everything I bought... and now I just read the label. It only took me about 4 weeks to get in the total swing of things. Good Luck!!!
Well it's time to get the kids from school... it's their last week YAYAYAYAYAY!!!!! Hi to everyone I missed, and I'll post again later.
P.S. NANCE - I'm gonna try and go weigh in tomorrow just for you babe ;) LOLOLOL!!!!!!
Adios

Trying to catch up on posting....
Chris - I have been eating vinaigrette dressings that I found - or Cardini’s - no sugar factor in them - italian dressing, fat free with no sugar is good..... a greek dressing - don’t know the brand is outstanding! Just takes me longer at the store because I read
all the labels now ;) I believe there is a shopping guide SB book - I don’t have it because the cookbook I bought has a great list in it as well. You will get on the right track!!! I was very confused in the beginning, but now I hope I have the right idea ;)
Thunder - Congrats to your pregnancy, I give you credit to being able to clean that catfish - I would not even be able to do it NOT pregnant, hahaha and Congrats to sticking to this woe while pregnant! That makes me mad too about the kittens being
drowned - and I agree wholeheartedly - no kittens when you fix a cat!!!

Afternoon Guys!
Just a quick post, trying to keep up this week.
Deb, interesting article. Never knew that about smoking oil. I really need to stir fry more often. Don't fry anything though. Have a fun day with Eli.
Monet, my kids thing sleeping until 1 or 2 in the afternoon is getting up early. Of course they don't go out at night until 11:30. Kids!
Nance, you had better quit eating the No-no's or you will be getting a phone call from Deb.
Country, Hi, glad you checked in. Hope you enjoyed your week with DH.
Tranquil, How far away is your son going? I love Yankee candles. They smell the best. Sounds like you have a set exercise program going. Keep up the good work.
Gracious, the Mosquitoes are bad here. I guess because we had such a mild winter. But you all had snow late. We just got over caterpillers everywhere. They were nasty.
Chris B, I buy Marie's salad dressing, blue cheese and ranch. IT is where th lettuce is. Just check for under 3 grames of sugar.
Thunder, SOunds like your bundle of joy is growing with leaps and bounds. Is it good for you to have a kitten if you are allergic? That is a shame that someome would try to drown them.
Sef, Enjoy your visisdt with Melf. Please take lots of pictures. Can't wait to hear details. Don't consier yesterday alost day. Consider it a day of needed rest for yourself.
Tranquil, 8 miles, that is a workout. I have a personal trainer. She only comes every 6 weeks and gives me a routine then I do weights for upper body 3 days and lower body 3 days at my convenience. It really works out well. I'm sure you will like it. Way to go! Tell your DS congrats on the 10 lbs too. Bet he is liking himself a lot better.
Beth, I tell my friends as soon as I can find my belly button, I am getting it pierced. LOL. They love it. Doubt that I would ever do that either. I'm gonna have to get you to buy me som Natures Own SF hamberger buns. They don't make them here in KY. Have tried everywhere, even called the baker. I would love to have a bun.
Bob, I call the Flower Bakers and they told me they don't stock the Natures Own in Lou. They do have it in Bowling Green, but not the SF or SF buns. I'm still hunting.
Have a great nite. Can't make it to chat tonite, puter is broke :(

Hey Everyone!
Back from sunny Florida.. the vacation was undoubtedly the worst I've ever experienced. But don't feel sorry for me, I managed to somewhat maintain my weight while I was there and I even did some walking on the beach. Back at work and searching for a new job. Can't let depressing times affect my eating habits. Good thing my BF is going to start eating healthier! I'll try to tune in tonight although I may bail early and hit the hay.
Going to the gym tonight to work out and weight myself..this'll be the true test to see if I "maintained" :)

So far, so good (I think..). Thanks for all your advice. One question, what do you do when you eat out? My husband got Subway for dinner, are their wheat buns legal? How do you know without the nutrition facts? Is it better to stick to salads? Someone told me Barilla pasta is legal because it's made from semolina flour, true? Thanks again!

Hi Gang, Well it's a wet day her in Washington and I have to wait until Friday before I can mow lawn again, But I have to tell you ladies and gent I really get a kick out of it.
Self: Boy Snow Blowing real sounds like fun, Man I could get into it. I really do love being out of doors and sence I can't walk much because of the bad knees this is my way to get around and visit the neighbors.
Deb: Your right about the garage sales, I do the drive by too, only when DH is with me he starts getting TB and wants to get out of the car so we have to stop. My be that's why he takes so long. Glad to hear about the dress. Hope she doesn't gain. It's not to much longer now and it will be a memory of in past.
Monet: No I only do the riding mower, I love being outside and we live in the country, our yard is very bumpy and and with my knees I always hurt them just walking around so the mower is the answer. And I love doing the neighbors to If I could I'd ride it to florida.
Gracious: I agree about the large group, And I know that God Blesses us all when we work together and help one another. So I guess we'll have a blast. We did a couple of yrs ago when we had everyone over to paint the house it was fun. I love to BBQ for large groups.
Nancy: That's Oxi Clean with a i not a y. and I use it quite abit I spray the spot with it first and blot at it then I put it in the shampooer and do the whole thing. But test a spot first for color fading. Some carpets have a tendency to do that.
Country Mom: I alway weigh more at night. I think everyone does cause it's been a full day of eating and drinking. We have alot of water weight.
Jackie, 17 yrds man would I love that. We only have a few locals that have a yrd to mow most have fields for the cows and grow hay so I just do my two neighbors and mine, but I still go down the road and visit some neighbors on my mowing machine.
Tranquil: Isn't it wonderful how a little rain can pick up our flowers I just love it.
Well gotta run Daynas coming in the door and knowing her she's going to want on line soon. Love to all Glory

Evening All:wave:
Had anice, but all too short day out with ELI. Weather was so bad here it took forever to get the errands ELI needed to run and only left time for lunch at you-know-where and dessert at you-know-where before having to come home.
Took Lauren to the tailor to get her dress altered-it costs more than the flippin dress! $35!!! Highway robbery, I think. This is one time I wish I could sew. It's more than I thought I would be paying, but I guess I have to keep in mind it will not only be done correctly, it will look right, and even with the alterations, it's still cheaper than the other dress we first bought. I'm not going to fret over it too much-seems we are able to keep this under $100 total.
MONET, I'm sure you'll find a wonderful dress that will look absolutely smashing on you! Have you decided how you are going to wear your hair? I agree, don't think it's a good thing to name your dinner meals.
NANCE, yeah, yeah, just rub salt into the wounds! You just HAD to mention TJ's huh? At least you could tell me what you bought-let me live through your experiences!!! Geez, like can't you share SOMETHING? LOL! Where is Ferndale compared to where you are?? I can't imagine there being a prettier place than where you live now - who wants that much rain. I love your view from the kitchen window-ready to give that up, really?
COUNTRY, thanks for checking in-enjoy hubby while he's around!!!
JACKK, not sure which would be worse, attacking some cake and foregoing the vodka. Okay, both are bad. Doubt the meatballs did you in. And plus, it was only ONE night of vodkas, right?:s: I'm sure the weight is just mystery pounds-or at least, here's hoping!
TRANQUIL, I got a draw filled with Yankee Candle tarts, though I don't light them often, I do love them. What scent(s) did they have? I told ELI we'll have to check out Carrabas one night, at least one night that Denise is with us as she gets her discount:) Good going on the exercise and getting a PT. CONGRATS to DS on his loss-hoping Lauren will get that same bug.
CHRIS, don't worry about the little shopping blunders, I've always said this is a learning experience and even after being on SB for over 2 years, I'm still learning! You should be able to find legal dressing at the store - how about Maries in the refridgerated section? Fresh Fields should definitely have some items there-I bought a dressing that I've seen at HFS recently called CINDY'S KITCHEN, the roasted garlic vinagarette one, it's delicious! You should be able to find some decent bread at FF. Do you have a Trader Joe's near you?
THUNDER, I can't imagine that DH got a cat! Esp. with you being allergic AND having the baby on the way. I don't think it's a good idea, but that's just my opinion. Keep up the great job with your eating and weight-I can't wait to your exicetment when you not only have the baby, but get on the scale and see the great loss you've had that won't be only baby weight!!!
SEF, I guess somewhere I didn't see that you too were going to meet MELF-that's wonderful! FINALLY, I'll get to see that mug of yours!;) Definitely, pictures are a must! Hey, if you ever need some 222's just holler and I'll send you some of my stash-lots better than Tylenol!
BETH, oh my goodness, you must look like the living dead at this point-go get some rest!!! Your Dad did the 5K in that time?? 5K is 3.10 miles, that's less than 9 minute miles-geez, he's fast! I'm sure you'll be able to do the Halloween run-you can train along with those of us who are doing the WDWM in Janaury via the board:)
BOB, still sick, okay, I know you'll always be sick, but being really sick - poohey! Where's does all the snot come from-I think you and ELI are exchanging it through the mail if you ask me! Feel better girlfriend! I have the perfect solution to clear up your sinuses:s::o
QUIV, okay, would you clarify in what way your FL. vacation was so bad? What's going on with the job?? Give us the low-down when you get a chance.
3MILLS, none of the breads at SUBWAY are SB LEGAL. I don't eat fast food, but if I absolutely had to do so, a salad would be number one on the list, just check the dressing. I tend to go to the same places where I know I can stay legal-like OUTBACK. It's hard at fast food places, easier at restaurants where they will make food to order. As for the Barilla pasta, I believe Barilla is made from 100% durum wheat semolina, if this is correct, than it's okay. Just remember, portion control.
GLORY, mow the lawn again? We don't have it done but every 3 weeks or so-either you have really fast growing grass or such a big lawn you can't do it all in 1 day! You could make a killing down here as a lawn person;)
Well, I'm outta here til chat. Hope you'll join me in the chat room at 9:15pm est
Good luck with WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY TOMORROW!!! Personally, I'm unbelievably bloated beyond imagination today and if I'm still feeling like this in the morning, I'm NOT stepping on that scale!!!!

Hi ya'll. Thought I'd pop in & post tonight even though I shou;ld already be in bed. Just couldn't stay away.
Debbie, Thanks for the well wishes for a safe trip. I'm getting more excited by the day. I soooooo need a vacation! Yes, I will certainly have a camera with me as I meet with Sabrina & Sue & will even take a picture with Shirley if she allows! :D I know, we really love to travel, but getting a chance to meet some of the people from this board made last year's trip to Orlando special & I know that will certainly be the case this year. I'm really excited about that part of the trip. Hey, I didn't mean that I disliked the question for any other reason than it hit home with me. It made me stop & realize that I have NOT been eating OP & that it's my own fault that the scale has been bouncing back & forth. Thank you for posting that question! :D
Monet 320, Oh, I don't think the bride would appreciate that at all. LOL But hey, I know how it feels to be the mother of the bride, 3 times over. ;) I do hope all goes well & that it's a beautiful day for you both!
Nance, We're heading for New Smyrna Beach, FLA for a whole week in a condo right off the beach. Yes, I agree, even if it weren't so far away, it would still be a vacation which I so desperately need right now. They have been working us half to death at the hospital. Our census is up right now which is unusal for this time of year.
Jack-K Wow, what will power to stay away from all that cake. I'm afraid that is one of my weaknesses when it come to cake, especially wedding cake! LOL Hey, I've visited your fair city in 1998 for NAC. National Acteens Convention. We brought some girls to the convention & had a great time there.
Tranquil, Sounds like a really nice day with your DS. I'm sure he enjoyed the special time with you as well. Hey, Saturday will be here soon!!!
Thunder Great to hear that you are doing so well during this pregnacy. Glad to hear that you got rain Sunday. We missed ALL of it! Not a drop here & you are so right about the crops needing water. DH is having to water his garden evryday. Last year when we left for vacation it rained the whole time we were gone & came back to find the garden in ruins. It is looking so good right now. That is our only concern about leaving for a whole week, but we have faith that all will be ok.
chrisb1022 & 3mills WELCOME to the board! SB is definitely the best WOE for me. I wish you both good results.
SEF, I had to  when I read your post! I'm excited too!!! Will be great to finally meet you. LOL Just read your last 2 posts & DH & I were sitting here just rolling  Sorry that you could not get onto chat.
Bob, We're off to New Smyrna Beach again this year. Sorry to hear that you've been sick! Hope you feel better soon!
Well, it's way past my bedtime & 5am will come early. Every morning this week when I wake up I've said "only x # of days to go." Well tomorrow morning I can say Horrah, the last 12 hr shift & only one day day to go!!!! :D Night all.

I'm here, but have a slight cold or worsened allergies or something!
On a good note, the deck is down! That big ol' 40 X 20 wood-warped splinter magnet is history! We're paying someone to haul off the lumber piles. Yippeee!
'CANES ARE GOING TO THE STANLEY CUP!!! :spin:
Watched the game last night! We went to the Sat game here in NC but the Leafs took that one. The good news is that we're going to the Stanley Cup! DH is all freaky because he wants to go to a game and it is scheduled during our camping trip. He's trying to figure out how to get to a game and go camping. I may never hear the end of this!
Going to Georgia tomorrow. Have to SLAH shows there, one with Sis and the other with SIL. Will be back late Sun with neice in tow. Look forward to spending time with her.
Time to hop in the shower and get ready for work. Have a busy day today.
Hello to all and welcome newbies. Take care everyone!

Hey everyone. Not much to say this morning but it has been a busy week for me and it is not over yet! The guy who is the only real construction dude from our church that was acting as foreman for all of our upgrades, popped his knee out on Monday when he jumped into a foundation..he popped it back because he panicked and now is in a splint for 2 weeks! I feel bad for him and us!! We are still going to try and do the garage roof this Saturday with the other guys and hope they remember what they did last Saturday on the house! Todd will be there to bark orders and supervise while laying in a lawn chair sipping Pepsi and eating Cherry Blossoms! I am hoping we can stay on schedule some how because I really wanted everything done before my parents arrive so Daddy can see what he paid for!!
Jack-K- We have the caterpillars coming now here. I don't know exactly what they are called but the locals refer to them as *army worms* because they move over the landscape like an army and devour every green thing in sight. They say that the caterpillars have gotten worse in the past few years and that they are a real menace to the farmers.
Quiv- Sorry to hear it was a bummer vacation but I am glad you are still doing well and on plan for the most part. Vacations are hard for most of us to get through completely legal.
Tranquil- That is a long drive, girl! We have a 16 hour straight drive from here to our old home in Ontario and just the thought of it with my 3 kids and ourselves locked in the space of a minivan gives me the willies! We encourage the grandparents to come to us instead of us going to them. Your son is older though and it is probably a nice drive. Great news about all your exercising, I wish I could get back into it. That is also great about your DS losing 10 lbs. It was probably effortless for him with you doing the cooking and just eating what was served to him. If he gets that next 15 lbs off over the summer then he will be svelte when he goes back to school and that is always a boost for a kid.
sef- Hope you recovered from your headache and that you didn't get it back when you had all that frustration trying to get into the chat.
BOB- Hope you are feeling better soon.
Thunderwoman- How many weeks/months pregnant are you now? I forget it has been so long since you have posted. Keep away from that kitten's litterbox. Pregnant women are not supposed to change them because of the risk of toxoplasmosis. I used to love being preggers so hubby had to do the nasty job!
Ciao for now.

Well the scale is not being kind today - I weighed in 4 pounds heavier!!!! My joints are all achey and my face is swollen, so I know it is water weight! Yuch, depressing - but I know that with all the exercise and eating right, it will be gone!!! But darn is it depressing! I was on such a role for awhile - all the weight just sliding off - them bammm, a plateau of unbelievable strength that I cannot get away from..... I will hang in there :)

Good Morning Everyone and thanks for all the warm welcomes!
Do you guys make macaroni and cheese with the HH Macaroni?
Has anyone made a good cookie with oatmeal, peanut butter and chocolate chips(the legal choc)?
sef
Thanks for the info on the Simply Fruit! I'll give that a try.
New Hope is really cool...did you get to Peddlers Village?
Beth2374
I found the Simply Jif in the store!! Thanks for filling me in on that!
Now if only I could find "Natures Own Sugar Free SGWW bread".
Tranquil
You mentioned the SB Cook Book....how is that? It seems like the recipes in the SB Book are sort of cajun. I'm bidding on one now on ebay...
Jack-K
I really like Marie's salad dressing, especially the ranch...I'll check that out!
Debelli
I don't have a Trader Joes near me....I do intend on going to FF...its not that close but I can make a trip every few weeks. My first trip will probalby be a few hours of label reading. LOL. Which may get hairy with my three year old. :dizzy:
I did find a ranch dressing yesterday that had less than 1 g. Annies Natural Organic Buttermilk. It's not very tasty...sort of bitter.
It seems like a lot of the Italian dressings I have looked at have a lot of sugar in them.
Thanks for all the great info!!

Happy WIW Gang:)
Hope the scale is goo to everyone today. Mine was flucuating between 191 and 192. I'm taking the 191. That still makes me up 1 pound. I am determined to stay 100% OP this week. I will have a big loss next week:D (I hope).
Last nite I wanted something. Had some SF ice cream in the fridge. Just about talked myself into it, and I hear DH fixing him some. He took it all. Huge bowl. Guess it was fate. He offered to share, but I figured that was a good excuse for me not to eat it.
I need some breakfast ideas. What do you guys eat? I either eat eggs (if I am saving my carbs for later) or oatmeal. I'm getting tired of both. I need something to keep my going till lunch. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Quiv, Sorry yu had such a bad vacation. What was the problem? Good for you maintaining on vacation.
3mills,I think eating out is easy. When you go to a steak house I get the small steak, salad, and veggies or mushrooms. Subway buns are not legal. You can check their website for ingredients. Taco bell's taco salad is legal as long as you don't eat the shell. Salads are your best bet if you're not sure. 100% duram semolina is legal.
Glory, You would love it at my house. We have had so much rain we have to mow at least 2x a week and it is still sky high. We push not ride.
Deb, I'm like you. Can't sew a stitch. Hate to have to pay to have the altered. Seems like it always costs more than the outfit. I am in luck though, both of my sisters sew, so I can usually take the item to them.
Melf, I'm jealous. I love to go to Florida. I guess we won't get there this year. We are going a a cruise in Nov (got to lose this last 40) so I guess we will bypass Fla. this time. Have a great time, soak up some rays for me. Next time your venture to Lou, we will have to get together.
Frog, Good to hear from you. Hope your SL show goes well. You are a traveler.
Gracious, How horrible about yuor foreman hurting his knee. Next weekend he will get the easy job. Good luck
Tranquil. I feel your pain. It is so depressing to gain. It's like taking the same wt off twice. I am still up this week too. Let's hang in there together. Next week we will both get a big loss.
SorryI missed chat last nite. Must get that puter fixed.
Have a great day everyone:) Check in later.

Good morning everyone. I think I missed yesterday.... But I'm wild and crazy this morning cause I lost 4 pounds!!!! And I'm finally out of the 190's! Yee haaaaaa.....That sure has given me a good boost that I really needed... And a sigh of relief knowing that I am eating right and losing weight...
Tranquil- Wow sounds like you're holding some serious water. Hope you get that get rid of it soon. Sounds like you're going through what I went through last week and the week before. I guess when you're loseing really good your body just has to stop and shift its weight...
gracious-Oh I hope everything goes fine with the roof. It seems like whenever theres construction on a house it never goes according to plan...
Frog lover-Glad you got your deck down. But sorry you're not feeling well..
Melf-Is this week-end the vacation start? Its not near so bad to work if you have a neat goal like that coming up....
Sef- Shoot I wanted to go to and forgot. For some reason I keep forgetting its on Tues. night..
Debilli-When your daughter goes to the dance and her Mom has helped her look so pretty, then the money will seem worth it. And that night gets to go in the memory box... Don't mean to sound stupid but what is Trader Joes? Is it a market or restarant...? Told you I'm back in the toolies here...
GloryIbe- We need to mow our lawn to, or rather my husband does. But it rained all yesterday. Hopefully it will clear up today but sure doesn't look like it... Ours is growing really fast this year because of all the rain we're having...
3mils-I tried subway to. Got in there and the wheat buns are honey wheat so finally went somewhere else and came back to the board and asked. Its a shame because everything inside is legal but the outside is the problem.
Quivondra-Hate your vacation was awful. Hang in there gal!!! Wish I had a gym to go to, it must help with stress to...
Jack-K- Sounds like you're doing fine... I think having a personal trainer would be so great.. Love you belly button thing!!!! I've got to check into those buns. Gosh a hamburger would be nice once in awhile...
Bob-Sorry you're not feeling well still, hope that sinus crap goes away soon. Thanks for the movie reviews. I wondered about Vanilla Sky. I was afraid it was weird...
Beth-That sleep is awful when you work nights. It takes my husband two days to rest up from is long nights on the week-ends. Thats so great about your Dad. And its so good for you to walk that far. I think walking is the best...
Sorry if I missed anyone.. Its the pits when you get behind....

Nancemeister- I forgot to say anything about the oatmeal cookies I made but my recipe doesn't have a name on it. or when I copied it off it didn't but its the ones with all the nuts in it. I just love them.. It makes small cookies... It saids you can use sunflower seeds or apricots in it.. But I didn't...
Jack-K- Good luck staying OP this week. We stay around the same weight. Get your butt going I dropped some this week and you got to keep up.....
Chris- I've never thought of a legal macroni and cheese recipe. Maybe you could just substitute the macaroni.
Okay off again.....

Geez! First there was one page, now there is 3!!!! Of course I'm in a hurry and won't be able to chat with everyone like I want to!
Deb & Bob The town in No. Ca. is WAY up north...very close to Eureka. It's surrounded by two redwood forest on the east, the ocean is five miles to the west, and eel river to the north. It's in a valley with lots of dairy farms (perfect because I'm DANISH)
The temperature sound like heavy and I hope it happens sooner not later!. Dan wants to wait about 1-1.5 years to get some more time under his belt with this job, but I'm ready to move NOW!!!
Jack-k If I posted what I weighed in this morning FOR SURE
Debbie would being calling me! I did get up and walk and drank some water, something I've been horrible at lately. I'm hoping with the extra water and exercise there is going to be a monster dookie and then I can get on the scale and see a marked improvement!
Gotta go....didn't mean to leave anyone out...although I'm sure I did, but I love you all and need to get ready for work STAT! Hugs and kisses!

Good Morning Gang!
I was in a daze this morning when I stepped on the scale and didn't even remember it was Wednesday! When this fact finally clued in, I thought I'd check in with you all. I seem to be stuck at 167. Been there for a few weeks. At least it wasn't a big gain!
I've only just barely glanced at some of the posts. Still don't have my computer fixed. Actually might be a good thing cause I tend to 'munch' when I'm at the computer.
My poor DS had "hand, foot and mouth" for a week. Didn't eat for 5 days and that's very unusual for him. It was a struggle to even get him to take water cause the mouth sores were so painful. He was ok for a week and now he has a bad cold/cough! Needless to say, I'm a little sleep deprived! :dizzy:
I've been trying to keep OP and eat 80-90% almost every day. Was a challenge when DS was sick cause Dr suggested cold stuff (ice cream, popsicles) for his mouth. He didn't want them and now we have a freezer full of the stuff. Guess it's still a challenge!
I've tried to plan a little ahead. I've got cooked chicken breast and hard boiled eggs and cooked barley in the fridge so that if I'm hungry, I have something legal and quick to eat. I'll have to cut up some celery and make a batch of hummus :T
I'm trying to get back on plan with the exercising too. I figured I better do it in the morning cause I was too pooped in the evening to do it. Picked up a pretty decent exercise bike at a garage sale for $5!!!! DH and I want to do some cross-training (we already have an elliptical machine), so for 5 bucks, what the heck.
I think I had to collect myself and get back in mode. I re-read a bunch of SB material and the BFL book and some fitness mags. I know what I'm supposed to be eating--just have to concentrate on getting in the veggies and fruit. I've planned out an exercise program and started it on Monday. Abs are sore from yesterday's workout! :strong: I'm crossing the days off on the calander and seeing the "X"s adding up seems to psych me. Hey, whatever works.
The weather finally seems to be getting nice. I got a sunburn on Friday. So I'll be outside doing the gardens! Keeps me away from the fridge.
Well, I better go and get to the household chores so I can get out in the gardens! Hope all of you are doing well. I think of the people on the board every morning when I add the agave to my coffee. :D I'll have to try to schedule in some "puter" time so that I can read the posts.
Bye for now!

Hey everyone!
Here I am, behind again! I need to make everything more consistent in my life!!!
Wedding update: We’ve decided on a small, casual ceremony in our home church. Looking at October 5 or 19, depending on the church’s schedule. We will follow that with cake, cookies, punch, milk and coffee in the church’s fellowship hall as a way to thank everyone for coming.
In late April next year, we’re going out to my mother’s house near Monterey, CA for our honeymoon. Mom will be on a trip, so we have the use of her house and car. All we have to pay for is food and fun!
We figured it made more sense to save up for a house than to blow it all on a trip. I don’t think we’ll be able to swing a down payment for a year or two, but it’s a start!
Dan’s cousin had her baby yesterday… don’t know the pertinent info, but she’s Olivia Faith, who decided to be born a week early. Dan’s aunt and uncle are now grandparents, and they’re SO thrilled.
WIW – the scale is up, but I know why. I ate like a moose yesterday, consuming anything and everything I could get my hands on. I’m up at about 181, so my next goal is to get below 180 for next WI. I’m going to give it my best shot to get as close to my goal weight as possible before the wedding.
OH! Almost forgot – I got a George Foreman-like grill… the one made by Black & Decker, with the timer and removable, dishwasher safe grills. I love it! I’d been using Dan’s mom’s teeny GF one over at their house, and decided I needed one of my/our own. Dan, being the “Great White Hunter of the North” that he is  brought home some bass filets from his camping trip over the weekend. So we sprinkled some lemon pepper on them and tried out the grill. It was wonderful! Added some steamed asparagus and we were all set. I also grilled some eggplant on it this morning, to take to work with me. Yum!
Let’s see if I can attempt to catch up a little here…
Quivondra – sorry the vacation was bad, but glad to hear you maintained!
3mills – welcome! I also eat out much more than I should. Stick to some kind of meat (cow, fish, chicken), steamed or grilled veggies, and a salad and you can’t go too far wrong. I always ask for veggies instead of potato or rice. The hard thing is to stay away from the darn loaf of bread they always bring out!
Question for you long-timers – is that dark bread at Outback legal?
Glory – now that spring is really here in MN, our grass is growing like mad. Dan just mowed last week, and it needs it again.
Debelli – isn’t it weird how alterations can cost more than the item itself? That always makes me wish I’d learned how to sew. I have to ask Dan to sew buttons back on when they come off.
Sef – LOLOLOLOL! That was priceless! Sorry you couldn’t get in, however. :(
Gracious – A shame about the lamb. It’s hard when something like that happens. Question – what are “Cherry Blossoms”? I got the drinking Pepsi part.
Tranquil – good for you for sticking with it. I know when I get on that scale and it shows a gain, my first instinct is to say “Heck with it” and trot off to eat something cuz I’ve already blown it. I need to work on that!
Chrisb – welcome, and let me know how you like the Simply Fruit. We have to finish off the LS grape jelly before I buy more, but it is pretty icky.
Jack-K – wish fate would intervene with MY eating! Lucky you that your DF will eat the SF ice cream. For breakfast, I’ll sometimes eat a wedge of Laughing Cow cheese on SGWW bread, or I’ll toast the bread and put peanut butter (and/or jelly) with it, open face or 1 slice cut in half. I also try to keep hard-boiled eggs handy, along with ham slices, for those protein days or when I’m in a hurry. I’ve also decided to get some Cheerios in the house, as extra insurance that I make myself eat breakfast.
Toni48 – whoohoo, congrats on the loss! *happy dance for you*
Nance – I think I’ve been to your little town. It’s so beautiful up there. You’re lucky if you can figure out a way to live there!
That's it for now. Have a good day, everyone!

Hi everyone.
Just sitting around here waiting on the rain. The baby woke me up about 4 times last nite. She kicks so strong that she wakes me up during the nite.
Melf- Enjoy you vacation and your visit with Sef. Hope you get the rain that we're supposed to get the next 4 days.
Debelli- I was overruled about the cat. No matter what I said he was bound and determined to get it. Hes supposed to put it outside starting this weekend. I love cats but can't even touch them. Makes me itch just thinking about touching it. We are getting excited about the baby getting here in the next 2 1/2 months. I can hardly wait to see what she looks like. And to see how much weight I drop after I have her.
Gracious- I don't touch the cat, feed the cat, change the litter or water the cat. I made that perfectly clear to him when he overruled me about getting it. His mother even jumped on him about it and it didn't even phase him. I have what is called cat scratch disease. If I even touch a cat and have a cut or open wound any where on my body, I break out all over.
I will be 27 weeks pregnant Monday. They cut off 2 weeks of my due date due to gestational diabetes and are going to take her 2 weeks early, around August 18.
Well gotta go everyone have a great day!!!!

Hope WIW is being good to everyone. I'm up a pound today, but TOM is due any day, so I'm not feeling too distraught about that. I managed to stay pretty much OP during the long week-end and even got my much needed exercise in all 3 days. Once again, though, I found myself not drinking enough water.
I see we have several newbies on board. Welcome guys. Wow, I'm starting to feel like an old timer. This is a great place for support if you haven't figured that out already.
I've been getting my agave from St Pats Brewing Supply. They are not too terribly far from me. A friend is a beer brewer and picks it up for me. The last time he was there, they asked him, "who are all these Sugar Buster people that are getting this stuff and what do they use it for?" Words getting out folks!
Gotta run, just wanted to get in a quick post. Toodles!!

Okay - I went to the gym, met with the personal trainer - weighed in and get this - their scale is weighing me in at 253 fully clothed! So, dilemma = go with their scale, and feel good = go with my scale and just keep on trucking?
Compliments - don't they make you feel so good! Today a co-worker stopped me and said that she could see my neck, shoulder, collar bone area is getting bonier - made me feel good!
So who cares that the scale was not nice, I know somewhere along this rough road I am lighter and smaller!!! :D
ChrisB - there are a lot of cajun recipes in the book - but I have found a lot of helpful ideas and such and I like the shopping list in the back.... It is a nice book to have.... I hope you win a bid on Ebay and are able to get it....
Jack-K - One day I want to weigh what you weigh!!! :D You need to lose so I can lose - hahahaha :)
Toni - Oh you lost the weight for me? Hahaha - Great going! I am sure my kidneys will eventually kick in and I will be spending more time in the loo! Meanwhile - 4 pounds of water ain’t bad! I can gain 10-15 in a day!! Since starting Sugar Busters and limiting my intake on fluids - I have not seen those fluctuations - and I am happy for it - I will take 4 over 10 any day ;)
Zanne - So sorry to hear about your ds being so sick - ouch!!! That is rough! Hang in there - he will get better, you will get rest and you can get all that stuff out of your freezer so it does not tempt you - or mark it “Poison” = hahahaha
Jenn - Sounds like you have a good plan for the wedding and honeymoon! I love my foreman grill - I am sure you will too!!
Thunder - Take care of yourself!!! :)
Trish - Next week will be a better one!
Solshine - Looks like you started running and can’t stop! :D
Deb - Ewwww cleaning grout!!!! What a horrible job!

Hi Gang: It's good to check in, And it a good WIW day for me I'm down 2lbs more. WooHoo!:D
Deb: Boy I guess you can concider yourself lucky, cause around here we have enough rain that we have to mow every wk and sometimes in 5days time it needs it again. I love it. Hey am I ever glad I can sew, I would have had a cow at having to pay more for the alterations than the cost of the dress, But like someone said, If ya don't sew it's gonna be worth it when she wears it to the dance and feels good about herself and what a great memory that will be. Good goin Mom! If they'd only say that once in awhile.:^:
Tranquil: You hang in there girl, That's most likely water weight and it'll be gone before you know it.
Chris: I have WWMac and Cheese and love it. But not to often cause I watch the carbs closely and I tend to over eat at it.
Jackie: I also get alot of rain and have to mow often, Man God really gave me something I love Most people hate the rain but look what it does for us. For breakfast I sometimes have WW Waffles,Or eggs, or uncle sams cereal. Mostly I eat protein not breakfast food it's not my thing. So I eat chicken or salad or what ever I would have for lunch.
Toni: 4lbs that's great way to go keep up the good work. Isn't it fun to stay OP and have such a great reward. You go girl.;)
Well gotta run, busy day today. Going out of town tomorrow to visit a cousin, Love to all Glory

About my trip...There was a lot of family stress going on down in Florida. It's too much to go over, but my BF and I were basically cornered by everyone to "like" this pregnant girl who will soon be part of the fam. There is a lot of history there and we felt really betrayed and stressed since we weren't just allowed to enjoy our vacation. It was all about this pregnant girl. On top of that..my BF had to actually work for a day and a half. None of this matters now since it's over..and both of us know better than to mix family and vacation!
My job? Well, I have wanted to leave for a while now. My boss is just a lying, passive aggressive @#$%#. All my friends managed to find a way out and I can't even get an interview. I'm just down in the dumps since the market is so bad.
Oh, and it doesn't help that I have a fear of terrorists planting bombs in new york city. The potential nuclear war in India and Pakistan is enough to put me on edge!! I basically read the FBI is 70% sure that there will be terrorist activity in new york and that they won't be able to stop it. So, needless to say..my stress level is a little above where I'd like it to be...I really pray for a day that I can wake up not afraid of being attacked.

Well, WIW really stinks this time. Hopefully, it's fluid because my face is really puffy. Anyway, we are going on our first mini vacation this weekend. Going to Gulf Shores(Alabama)-leaving early Friday morning and returning Saturday evening. We can't afford to stay any longer and I will be nervous as it is with Boogie being so far off from the hospital. I really didn't want to go because I don't have a swimsuit(and I will not buy one) and I know I will be self conscious being at the beach with skinny, tan girls sporting bikinis. Told hubby if I catch him so much as peeking at girls then that will be the last time we ever go to the beach again. Of course he says I am just as beautiful(yea, right) and no prob there.

Hi Everyone,
I am going to try this cut and paste thing from Word Notepad. Anyway, WIW wasn't too bad, didn't lose, but didn't gain after a eating spree that began Friday night and ended Monday night. I re-read the newbie tips email I received from Jack-K (thanks again!) and I realized I was eating way too many legal starchy carbs. I had conveniently forgotten that there was a limit. I think I'll cut back to 1-1.5 servings a day until I get a few more pounds lost.
Still can't find Nature's Own SFWW bread. Did make a good treat yesterday and today - cole slaw mix from the bagged salad section with Ranch dressing - yummy!
I'm not very good at keeping up with everyone - but I'm going to try harder from now on!
I was reading through the posts really quickly, then I couldn't remember who posted the question - about a sugar-free italian dressing. Try Newman's. I think it's delicious and have always used it. I was happy to find it was legal.
Deb - I think it's great that you confess when you cheat. If I thought other people were perfect on maintenance, and I knew I couldn't be, then it would make this WOE more intimidating!
3Mills- I haven't tried the bread at Subway - good to know that it is illegal - but what I have done twice since starting SB is to have their salad. The roasted chicken is good. First you tell them what you want in your salad from the array of sandwich toppings. I usually get lettuce, tomatoes, olives, and cucumber. Then they cut up a whole, cooked chicken breast for you and put it on top, and then you choose your dressing. I've been getting the oil and vinegar. It's a great lunch or dinner.
Take care and good luck with everyone's WIW!!!!!!

Hi Newbies - There's another sugarbuster's site which has a Kitchen Pantry and SB legal brands subsites on it
<<http://www.prettyimpressivestuff.com/sugarbusters/sb_pantry.htm>>
It's not too hard to find the nutritional info on eateries out there, try doing a internet search. For example type in
"nutritional info" Outback
Using the quotations around the words nutritional info, keeps those two words together during the search. I use the <<www.google.com>> search engine. You'll get a lot of diet sites, and possibly even the eatery site itself.
I personally really like the Annie's Naturals salad dressing, my fav is the sesame & shitake mushroom blend. There's a truffle olive oil blend - sounds good, but all I taste are olives, and it's an olive oil base. The Green Goddess is pretty good too.
Also legal are the Laughing cow lite cheese wedges, Toufayan WW pitas, triscuits, ryekrisps, rold gold pretzels.
One quick dessert to make - 2 cups FF milk, any flavor Jello FF, SF pudding, and 8oz FF cream cheese. You can also add 2tbsp of Torani SF syrup for variety. I made a Torani caramel, white choc, cream cheese pudding that was awesome!
As for breakfast (which I need to start doing again) - smoothies are the best way to go. My version is 1/2c FF milk, 1 scoop protein powder (Aria vanilla flavor), 5 pieces of frozen fruit, 1/2c vanilla or plain yogurt (I add 2 tsp fructose when using plain yogurt).
Dannon Fit-n-Lite is a good yogurt (fructose + artificial sugar). I also use Mountain High Plain and Vanilla yogurt (all natural sugars).
**************
Remember the talk about Burt's Bees products? I said the mint lip balm was slightly addictive. My dog , Bandit, must have read my mind when I wrote that. Apparently the tin pot fell on the floor. By the time I found it, he had licked it clean. :p
Started doing fitday.com today. Yup, not getting enough protein. I guess it's back to smoothies in the morning. Adding eggs also adds fat in almost an equal proportion - unless I do whites only. Fitday tends to stick beans and lentils in as carbs, aren't they supposed to be protein too? Any suggestions as to adding more protein sources?
Well, despite my struggles, today I'm back down to 130. I was moving up to 131-132 during my CHEAT weekend! That's what prompted me to check fitday. Yes, I've stopped the Yoplait Lite Yogurt - totally illegal stuff! NOW, I know, and am being more vigilant on the label reading.
Deb - thanks for the yogurt cheese brand info. I haven't had time to look for them yet though.
Sorry if I missed anybody, it's been very stressful at work the last 2 weeks. I had to deal with some very unorganized people, and they made the last 2 weeks H-E- double hockey sticks!
Congrats to all who lost (some nice losses too!), and those who are hanging in and hanging on!

Hi Everyone
Getting ready to head home. Got to get to the grocery tonite. Nothing in the house to eat and I did not plan anything for dinner. I hate when I'm unprepared and out of carbs. Oh well.
Toni, WTG Girl. 4 pounds. That's wonderful. I was shooting for getting out of the 190's myself. Didn't quite make it. Maybe next week. Keep up the good work. OK it's a challenge. I'm going to kick butt next week and be down with you again!!
ChrisB, we were posting at the same time. I have made mac & cheese using the duram semolina pasta. But I don't make it often. It is too hard to only eat 1/2 cup. Be careful. Another bread which is pretty easy to find is Pepperidge Farm's WW bread. Go to the recipe board here and print off some recipes. Someone (sorry forgot who) has saved them in word and can e-mail them all to you. I have a whole binder full of recipes I have gotten here and off sweet talk board.
zANNE, What a horrible disease your DS had. Now he has a cold. Poor thing. Hope he is feeling better soon. Sounds like you have a plan worked out. That is the secret to this WOE. Planning and being prepared. Your exercise plans sounds good too. Wish I had a bike and for $5. What a bargain. Of course, I have sold many a bike before when they sit and collect dust.
Jenn, Sounds like wonderful wedding plans and so sensible. You will be glad when you make the down payment on that house. Congrats on the new arrival in Dan’s family. No the bread at Outback is not legal. When we go to a restaurant (if we are alone), I tell them not to bring the bread. If my kids are with us or another couple, I tell them to only bring them for them. That way I’m not tempted. I have a Hamilton Beach grill, but it is so hard to clean. Sounds like yours is better.
Thunder. Do you have a name picked out for your little girl? I love girls ( I have 2), until the become teenagers. LOL
Trish, Hang in there, that pound will come off plus some after TOM. Keep drinking that water. It really helps. That’s funny about the Agave. We are spreading the word.
Tranquil, Is their scale a dr.’s scale? IF so, it should be pretty accurate unless it is sitting on carpet. It’s a good start, hang in there.
Glory, Down 2 pounds WhooHoo for you!
Quiv, You poor thing. I feel sorry for you living in so much fear. I don’t think I would want to live in NY right now. Try not to worry too much. Stay out of high profile places and high rise buildings. Hope the family thing and your job hunting improves.
Heartmom, Go have a good time and try not to worry. A small vacation will be good for you. Don’t worry about those skinny-minnies. I’m sure you look just as good.
Jbug, Sometimes I cut back on my carbs too. I can’t get Natures Own bread in Ky either. I buy Grant’s Farm 100% WW. Hang in there it will come off.
Have a great nite all. See ya tomorrow.

Hi All: My muscles were screaming today on the bike - only 4 miles - but I feel like I at least did something! Came home and weighed and I was 256 - that is 2 pounds down from this morning - and so I have a feeling that I was just full of something hahahaha - I am heading out for a walk soon - not letting these tired ole muscles push me around!
Tree - thanks for your link and suggestions!
Jack-K - It is one of those big doctor scales and it is on the hard tile floor that looks like a school's floor - forgot the name of that tile - I am feeling pretty happy at the moment that I have lost :)
Quiv - Sorry about your vacation being a bummer!
Heartmom - Hope you have a fun time and don't worry so much about those thin people...one thing I realized is that people are more worried about themselves than others - so they won't look at you and say oh look at her! They will be thinking - Oh what a glorious day in the sun!
Glory - Yahooooo on being a loser!!! hahaha - good for you on your loss!!!
Well to those I missed - Hello!!!

Hello to all of you!
I sure do miss checking in everyday! But, there is absolutely NO TIME!!!! Then I look in today and there are 5 pages!! I wish I had time to post and respond to all of you but I'm soooo tired! I see that we've got some new people on the board - WELCOME! You'll love it here! I'll definately be back on board after my surgery Tuesday. After all, I won't be able to talk for 2 weeks - so playing on the computer will take up the majority of my time. You know what is sad? I'll be spending much of my time starting to get things ready for the next school year! That sucks! Finish one and within the next week - start preparing for the next year! Those people that say how lucky teachers are because they get the summers off are so off base!!!
I'm trying to clean my house - taking a room a night so that I won't be worried about that after the surgery. I hate to clean house but when I'm confined to bedrest - for some odd reason - I want to clean!! Go figure! So, I'm trying to get it out of the way bit by bit so that I can enjoy my weekend!
Only 2 more days with the kids - yippee! Then we go back for a records day on Monday. Tuesday I go under the knife!
I went to my OBGYN today for my 4th depo lupron shot. Since I've started my shots I've lost 37 pounds - which I'm very excited about. He was very proud of me too. He was going to stop the shots today if I wanted to try to get pregnant again now. But, I told him that I wanted to at least be under 200 pounds before he sent me to the specialist again. Since this is my last official "TRY" I want everything to be as close to normal as possible. If I were to have yet another miscarriage, and I hadn't taken off the weight as I planned to do, I would always wonder WHAT IF....I had lost, etc. Then I would want to try again! My body just can't take anymore pain. I've been through enough. So, I'm going to make every attempt at losing as much as possible before I go back to the specialist! So, I've got some more time to reach below the 200 mark! Wish me luck!
Well, for just a pop in, I sure can talk alot! Wait until I can't talk at all - I'll be typing up a storm!! HAHA!
Well, have a great one! I miss all of you and I'll try to come back before my surgery!!

Howdy ya'll! Just sneaking in a little board time. We are having a great vacation so far. We actually went and shot our bows today. We did the dart system. Which is a video bow shoot and it was sooooo fun. We picked up a few goodies for our bows and now it is so much easier for me to hold my arrow in place. This deer season ought to be pretty fun. It will be my first.
Eating has been going pretty good. Exercising has been the bare minimum...only worked out twice in three days...no walking. Some of the extra weight came off so I am back down to 153.
Sorry I don't have time to respond to all the post but I am reading. You all don't know what a true blessing and encouragment you are. ((hugzz))
Love,

Hi everyone!
I'm back. Things are starting to look up and the weight is finally beginning to move down. I am now at an all time low of 269. So my next goal is 259.
Welcome newbies.
BOB: I watched Spy Games and Oceans Eleven. I liked Oceans Eleven but I thought that Spy Games was a much better movie. Hope that you enjoy it.
Well, I'm so tired. Sorry that I couldn't respond to everyone. Congratulations to all you "losers". For those of you that did not lose, just hang in there and it will happen.

Hi Everyone!
It's late here, so just a quick note to let everyone know I'm still alive. We didn't get started with the SB WOE last week like planned. But, I did start today. Unfortunately, Jim and the kids were digging in the pantry fairly quickly for junk food.
I did stay OP today. It was fairly easy. I did make myself eat an orange. Believe it or not, I've never even tried one before. I'm going to reserve judgement until I've tried it a few more times.
We did have some really bad weather here in Central Texas, but everyone's fine.
Our buyer's inspector showed up today. He found 4 nitpicky things and that's it. My husband is breathing a huge sigh of relief.
I'm going to post my first day's meals to see what everyone thinks. Too much? Too little? Not enough of something?
Breakfast: (ate at IHop because Inspector threw us out)
An omlete with ham, bacon, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, and cheese. 100% apple juice
Snack:
1/2 a small orange
Lunch:
A grilled cheese sandwich made with SGWW bread plus a side salad.
Snack:
A handful of peanuts
Dinner:
Homemade Chicken A'la King made with WW flour instead of white. Two pieces of SGWW bread.
I did drink at least 6 glasses of water. And I took a walk around the block with my son.
That's it.
See everyone tomorrow.

Just wanted to pop in and say hi! We finished painting the bathroom, and I have been working on the kitchen. I got the walls primed for the wall paper, and should get that done today. If I run out of time, I will wait to paint it, and just leave it white for the wedding.
Tonight I am hoping to get out to Dillards at the Mall of Georgia and see if I can find a dress for the wedding. I hope and pray I can find one easily.
Once I get that done, the weekend will be dedicated to cleaning house..thoroughly.
No word on the ham situation..so I will probably just leave it as it is. If my son in law to be is mad, he really can't blame me!
Talked to my sister last night. She sounded much more upbeat. Her surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, and they are hoping she will only need a lumpectomy and not a full masectomy.
Only nine days left...

Hi everyone.
What do you do when you want to eat something in the evening....like the DH and kids are eating donuts or ice cream??
I ate an apple, is that about as good as it gets??
The night before I wasn't even hungry after dinner. I am hoping my cravings for sweet stuff in the evening subside.
Is there a good legal ketchup out there? I'm not a big ketchup eater....but I was thinking about how to make baked beans and sloppy joes....any one have a recipe??
I think I am doing pretty good!! I am trying not to have any bread or pasta at dinner.
I don't have a scale...I figure I will be able to use my clothes to tell my loss. Guess I should go buy one.

Greetings fellow SB'ers!!
I am in a good mood this morning..which is always a bonus! I have a few things on my plate..laundry mountain to fold and put away, bake 5 dozen cookies for my son's graduation tomorrow night, general clean up and of course caring for my kids and the ones I babysit. Now that I type that I wonder why I am in such a good mood afterall!
Oh..our foreman who tore all the ligaments in his knee...he said he couldn't handle just sitting there and barking orders. He is a do'er and not a watcher...we are going to do put the siding on the ends of the house this weekend. We have to wait for the front and back because next weekend the windows will go in first. The ends have no windows so that is why we can get those done instead.
JENN-Cherry Blossoms are a candy bar kind of thing. They are a marachino cherry with syrup in a huge chocolate shell with nuts I believe. Lowry puts them out and they always remind me of old men because my Grandpa used to love them...kind of like Peps if you know those...huge peppermint patties. Anyways..that is what they are and this guy loves them. He roofed our house last week and I *paid* him with 2 Cherry Blossoms...now that was a great deal if you ask me!! :D
MONET- You must be going nuts!! Did you get your dress and what does it look like? So many preparations and so little time but you strike me as someone who has it all under control.
HomeSchoolingMama- I would watch the starchy carbs. You said you had a Grilled Cheese for lunch, then the chicken made with SGWW and the 2 slices of bread...I would count that as 5 starchy carbs if you used 2 slices of bread for your grilled cheese. It should be only 2-3 starchy carbs a day and perhaps 1-2 if you are really trying to lose. I find for myself, that if I limit my starchy carbs I tend to lose more, but that is just me! ;) Otherwise, I thought it looked good.
SHEANN-Anymore news about your son?
COUNTRYMOM- My husband is into Archery now that we moved to NB. He has a new bow that his friend keeps adding things onto each visit. He wants to try deer hunting when he gets more proficient with his bow.
FRUIT- Good to hear from you, I was wondering where you went off to! Sounds like a plan for the doctor, I hope you get under 200 soon..keep plugging along!
That is it for me, gotta get some work done. Have a great day!

So how is everyone this morning? Rainy and dreary here... YUCK!!
Tuesday morning after I posted... I went to bed at 2pm and slept until 6am Wednesday morning!!! How's that for a rest!
Walked 3 miles last night... tried to jog a little of it, but WHOA I'm not ready for that yet!! Didn't drink nearly enough water this past few days, going to try to make it up the rest of the week. I work tonight and tomorrow with someone else, so I don't have to worry about bathroom breaks, I can drink all I want!
DEB - Yeah my dad did GREAT I think!! I was really proud of him. He doesn't act or look 50, he's a blast and I love him dearly. Can you tell at 28 I'm still a Daddy's Girl? I adore him :)
Jack-K - I have my ears done 7 times, my tongue done once (for now, but getting a second one sometime) and I have my (ahem) nips done...:o Yeah I know... most people would NEVER suspect that I'd even have the tongue done. I'm a very well educated, well spoken and proper person face to face... I just have this love for body jewelry. I had my belly button done the last time I wore a size 10, but I'm so short waisted, that my jeans ALL hit right at the belly button and it irritated it all the time, so I took it out. Not doing that one anymore.
Fruit - Our kids last day of school is Friday also! Good luck with your surgery next week, I'll send thoughts and prayers your way :)
Well it seems like every time I start getting caught up $$$ wise, something new happens!! DH and the kids went to get some dinner while I was sleeping Tuesday night and decided to take MY truck.... it broke down on them and I had to have it towed and fixed yesterday :( My garage door is going to be replaced next Wednesday... and my dog has his vet recheck tomorrow! So... empty that checkbook and start over Friday I guess..LOL!
My stepdad is home and recovering quite well! I think this little stunt of his has convinced him that he needs to CHANGE! This was way too close a call for him and he has realized that he doesn't want to leave this earth yet, so he's setting out to better himself! Too bad it takes these things sometimes, but I'm glad he's doing well :) Thanks for all the thougts everyone!
I'm off to scramble some eggs for me and my littlest... and gonna drink ONLY water today!!! Probably won't get to walk, it's pouring rain and I go in at 3pm today :( I'll have to stick with an exercise video!
Have a great Thursday everyone... See ya on the flip side~!

I'm so mixed up this week becuase of last week-end's holiday, I thought today was WIW! LOL! So here it is anyway: 134, no change on the scale, but the calipers say I've gone down 2% body fat in the last 3 weeks. Yahoo! That's what counts for me.
Homeschoolmomma: (gotta shorten that!) I think your menu looks high in starchy carbs, too. And probably fat, and too low in vegies. Load up on fruit, vegies and protein!
Chris: I used to have 2 teaspoons of natural peanut butter for "dessert" (Crazy Richard's brand from Acme or Genuardi's- you're in Philly area, right?) Or smear it on an apple. Other solution: don't buy the donuts and ice cream. Now if hubby and son want them, they have to go out for ice cream. That way 1) they eat it less often and 2) I don't have to look at it.
Monet: It is time to find a dress!!! Good luck! I hope my daughter elopes like I did, when the time comes. Thinking of your sister, and you.
Sol- You're gonna fly right by us, girl! slow down!
Fruit: You don't sound like someone who's going to take to bedrest real well  Personally, I would love it right about now if I was told not to get out of bed for a week! But the no talking part? My family would be thrilled, and how could I control the world that way! Good luck on Tuesday, I'll be thinking about you. Can you eat after the surgery? Not the best way to lose weight, but maybe a quick couple of pounds? You've got good motivation to lose.
Deb- Are you melting down there? Bro and SIL say it's been horrible in Broward. She's now pregnant, tho, and is miserable from day 1.
BOB- Hope you feel better. You didn't miss the Memorial Day sales did you?
Hi to everyone else I missed- Gracious, I hope the house fixing/building continue without further disaster!

Good morning everybody!
I cannot believe that May is almost gone! Jordan leaves in 2 weeks for a 2 week Sea Cadet camp in Norfolk, Virginia. He's flying up there with another cadet from here, so at least he won't be totally alone. He's getting really excited and I'm getting really nervous. He got a call a couple of nights ago from an Air Force recruiter and yesterday a Marine recruiter. I guess it's starting now.
Sol - We miss you!!
Deb - How did the steam buggy work on your floor? I really need to do mine. We didn't seal the grout in the kitchen and it's really starting to look pretty bad. We've got tile everywhere in our house except the bedrooms. I love it.
Tranquil - Just curious, how did you find a personal trainer and what kind of costs are associated with one? I'd like to start using one, but haven't a clue where to start looking.
Glory - WTG on the 2 pounds. Where in Washington are you? That seems like such a beautiful place.
Quiv - Boy you are having a rough time, aren't you girl. I hate when you spend a bunch of money on a vacation and for whatever reason, it doesn't turn out the way you wanted. I really feel for you living in NY right now.
Heartmom - Have fun in Gulf Shores. We were there a couple of years ago and had a great time!
jbug - Your coleslaw salad sounds good. I do a similar thing with cut up broccoli and cauliflower.
Tree - Thanks for the tips. I love smoothies for breakfast too. Sometimes instead of the milk, I'll throw in a little orange juice.
Tranquil - Good going on the bike. 4 miles is better than 0 miles!
BOB - Glad you seem to be on the upswing. I'll have to check out Bandits. How did you like Spy Game? I enjoyed it but then, hmm, Robert Redford, Brad Pitt, what's not to enjoy? For those of you that have a DVD, have you ever tried Netflix? You pay a set fee each month and pick out the rentals you want to see. Depending on your plan, you can have a certain number out at 1 time. Our plan is 5 at a time. They send them to you and you can keep them as long as you want. When you send one back, they send the next one on your list. It's great. They come with little postage paid mailers that you just drop back in the mail. It's pretty slick.
Toni - Are you guys still getting rain? Is the ark ready yet?
Fruit - WTG on the good results at the doctor today. Good luck with your surgery.
Crystle - Enjoy your vacation.
Sheann - Glad to see you back and congrats on the loss.
HSmama - I agree with the too many carbs. That really slows down my weight loss too. I usually do alright if I keep it at 2 per day. Someone else mentioned that they do better when they limit them to breakfast and lunch.
Monet - You're making me tired. Hope you found a dress. Thinking good thoughts for your sister and her surgery.
Chris - There's been a lot of discussion about sugar free treats and this WOE. Frankly, though, they keep me off the bad stuff. A couple of things that have saved me is SF jello and Popsicle brand SF popsicles and fudgsicles. I have always been an after dinner sweet eater and these have saved my life!
Gracious - A few things on your plate.....???
Beth - WTG on the 3 miles. I tried jogging a little too the last time I walked, but it was not a pretty picture. That's great about your dad's 5K time.
Mel - Down another 2%, you're really kicking booty!
Guess I better skedaddle now. Talk to everyone soon.

( Started this post last night, obviously, didn't get it done! )
Evening All:wave:
Thought I'd get in a post before prime time TV shows come on in a few.
Not much to report on my end today-as I mentioned earlier in the day, I was cleaning grout, was on the floor for over 3 hours and wasn't able to get about 1/4 of the kitchen done-big kitchen, lots of grout. Not sure when/if I'll ever get the rest done, too time consuming and teadious.
Feeling icky poo today, mid-cycle is just about upon me and I'm feeling not only icky, but bloated as well. Don't you just LOVE being a woman!
SEF, sorry for the trouble you had getting into the chat room, don't understand why you had trouble. Next time, e-mail me or I/M me and I'll try to help:)
MELF, I'm SURE SEF is not only going to let you take her picture, she's going to give you a "cheesecake pose". Again, have a safe and fun-filled trip.
FROG, hope you get lots of orders, make lots of money and most of all have fun! Have a safe trip and let us know how things went when you return.
GRACIOUS, pardon my stupidity, but you eat cherry blossoms? I thought they were flowers on a tree. :?:
TRANQUIL, not to worry, I'm feeling the same as you! It will pass! As for the scale, I'd stick to the one you started with, but that's just my opinion. I won't weigh on any other scale no matter what-wild horses can't drag me on, I'd be too afraid to find out what it would say!
CHRIS, I have made mac and cheese once, but not big on pasta, so not something I do really. I'd say, as a newbie, try to stay away from the sweets until you've really detoxed from wanting sweets-it could backfire on you. No one likes to go grocery shopping with me either, I read everything and take forever! Okay, I take that back, BOB likes going shopping with me:)
Good Thursday Morning!
Figured I continue where I left off last night and fill in this morning's dismal happenings.
Woke up and wanted to walk but kept putting it off til I didn't feel like going and when I finally decided to get my arse out there, it started to rain! Serves me right, could of easily gone earlier. Didn't go yesterday as I thought I'd be able to go to the spinning class-well, not a chance, plus, my butt/upper thigh muscles were killing me, still sore today-can't imagine them feeling like this just from grout cleaning!
I am truly bloated and will not be posting any weights! It's day 14 of my cycle-need I say more????
Lauren's dance is tonight, so this afternoon is going to be fille with running around, esp. after school. I hope the dress comes out good. Hope her hair comes out good as well-going to a new place for her and hoping they know what they are doing, or at least what she wants them to do.
Oh yes, the rain is coming down!!!!!!!!!!!
JACKK-personally, for breakfast I usually have some high fiber fruit along with maybe an omelet made from Eggbeaters, cottage cheese, Fiber One, ww English muffin, sometimes a milkshake-there's lots of ideas! Here's some ideas I had in my files:
BREAKFAST IDEAS
High Fiber Cereals with milk-Uncle Sams, Fiber One
Eggs or Egg Substitute-make a great omelet, hard boiled or scrambled
WW Pancakes or Waffles-FEARN has a great SB LEGAL MIX!
Cottage Cheese-add a little sweetener and cinammon
Plain Yogurt-can be topped with some fresh/frozen berries
Whole Grain Toast-top with a little butter if desired
No Sugar Bacon- Gwaltney's is a great brand to try if you can find it!
Hard Cheese-melted on your toast or in your eggs
Fruit-as your meal, or 1/2 hr before, or 2 hours after
Muffins-lots of recipes to make some SB legal muffins out there
Oatmeal
Breakfast Burrito
Kashi for Breakfast
French Toast (make with egg and Ezekeil or other SB legal bread)
Hey, where's the cruise you're taking in Nov. going out of??
TONI, CONGRATS!!! WOW, 4lbs is awesome-I think I gained what you've lost, and then some! Trader Joes, ahhhh, wouldn't I give my eye-teeth to live near one. It's a specialty grocer that has many unusual items at the most fabulous prices you could ever imagine. If you are ever in a town that has one, you MUST stop (and have a cooler), you WON'T be disappointed, I promise!
NANCE, how far is that area from where you are now? Sounds far! Hope you lose that major dookie, and soon, otherwise Floyd the Farting Dog is going to have some major competition in the house! LOL!
ZANNE, SD had hand, foot and mouth-'splain that one, would you? I'd be happy to have just mouth! It's funny, when I buy ice cream that's not SB LEGAL for the kids, it doesn't bother me, but if I buy some that's okay, like Breyers vanilla, it seems to call my name from the freezer. I'm not buying ANY more for the next month and hopefully, it will forget my name all-together! Sounds like you gave yourself a good talking to and that you'll be right back on track along with a positive attitude.
JENN, it sounds like you are going to have a nice wedding without all the aggravation and stress you had before. I'm sure it's going to turn out wonderful and you'll be happy you made this decision. I think you made a wise choice in the B&D grill over the Foreman, I saw them and liked that you could remove the grill-hate my GF because you can't on that one. Outback bread-well, not really, but you could do worse. Down here, their bread is made by the Flowers bakery and I know they don't use anything worthwhile. If you have a tiny piece, it's not going to kill you, but just keep in mind it's more than likely NOT SB LEGAL.
THUNDER, I hope once the baby arrives you'll post a picture of her up on the board. Do you know if the hospital has one of the boards where they post the picture of the baby, like my sisters?
TRISH, do you know if St. Pats has upped it's price on the agave. Don't know if you saw my post the other day, but the HFS I get mine from went up $2 on each bottle. Luckily, I have 56+ bottles still here at home and if I don't do much baking I'm bound to have enough for the next couple years. Using the steam buggy was a pain-it only works about 10 minutes before you have to put more water in it (waiting 5 minutes between to let it cool down doesn't help either). It works okay, but I sure wouldn't buy one unless I found it cheap at a garage sale. My sister got it marked down for 30+ at Target. It didn't work on the mold in the kids bathroom, thank goodness for tilex! Would I say to buy one-not really. I sealed my grout in the family room, but not in the kitche, big mistake-but too much grout to have done myself at that time. At least I didnt' get white grout, but beige isn't much better.
GLORY, CONGRATS, you are definitely headed back in the right direction! Keep up the great work. Loves to sew, loves to cut the grass-a woman of many talents I see;)
QUIV, seems like you have a lot of "thought provoking" things going on at this time. I'm sure you'll find a good job soon. Don't let the terrorist things stress you out-it's exactly what they want you to do-don't let terrorist and their actions consume you-I'm a firm believer that whatever is meant to be will be and there's a reason for everything, though I don't always understand the reasons:shrug:
HEART, enjoy your trip! I'm sure BOOGIE will have a good time playing in the sand-take lots of pictures!!! Hey, I will never own a bathing suit, much less even think of buying one.
JBUG, oooh, you were on a marathon eating binge I see-oh, I know those all too well. Yes, those starchy carbs can pose a problem when you eat too much 2-3 a day should be the max. What I think happens with many is the portions they have of the starchy carbs, not realizing that you can only have a 1/2 cup of rice, 1oz of cereal-if you don't measure, you can easily consume more-I've been very guilty of that in recent past. Trying to limit mine at this point as well. Yes, I will confess when I've been less than stellar in my eating-didn't have to do this until recently though, I was OP 100% and didn't cheat until I was on SB for 2 years-don't like when I cheat because I go totally out of control and it takes me a while to get back into the swing-instead of sticker shock, I get scale shock!
TREE, your dessert sounds good, though I haven't tried any SF pudding since I started SB, like the jello prepacks though. I always recommend Rissa's site-it's a good one, esp for newbies to take a look at. Protein - beans, cottage cheese, lots of good ideas on the web, I'm sure-hit the Google pages for lots of ideas.
BOB, hope you feel better. Surely Skeeter wishes you stayed home as well. Visit, nope, no visits for me, but sure wish I could-I'd visit anyone with a TJ's nearby!!!
FRUIT, glad to see you checking in. I think you are making a very wise decision to wait to try again, it sure can't hurt and can only help! Hope the surgery goes well-please let us know as soon as you are able how you're doing. {{{HUGS}}} Guess I won't be calling you to chat, will I?
COUNTRY, sounds like you are enjoying your time with DH together. Didn't know you were an archer! I have 2 old bows in my house from when I was really young-wonder if they'd be worth something all these years later. I can't shoot at all, was just something I thought I could do when I was a kid. Will you be shooting game in the season??
SHEANN, glad to see you back! Even happier to hear you've made it to a new low, how wonderful!
MAMA, never tried an orange-I think you must be the first person I've met to say that! Your menu-don't know your current weight, but I can say from looking at your intake it's not enough, too many starchy carbs, not enough veggies, need fiber. Remember, this is not only a WOE but a learning process and as you get more comfortable, you'll learn as well. Just stay strong, you may have some really bad cravings for sugar, may have a headache, this will pass-it's your body detoxing from the sugar and refined crap. Keep asking questions, this is how you'll learn.
MONET, good luck with the dress hunting today-let us know how you make out. Glad to hear sister is feeling better as well.
CHRIS, well, if you want to eat something in the evening, is it just to feel like you are joining them, or that you are truly hungry. Why eat if you aren't hungry? If you just want to join them, grab some celery and in mind think how good it feels to be able to have that kind of control that you don't snatch that donut out of their mouths. NOW, if you want something a little on the sweet side, how about some SF jello? Remember, you NEVER have to eat to feel social-but you do need to eat if you are hungry. There are legal catsups out there, but not sure what's available around you. You could try making some. There's a recipe on the board for baked beans that I basically used my bbq sauce recipe with a modification-it's on the board, but I used agave syrup and not sure if you have that.
BETH, I'd give anything to be able to get in a sleep like that-I truly think I need a power nap right about now anyhow! Nothing wrong being a Daddy's girl-and I bet, you will be running along with Dad before you know it. When I started to jog at first, I couldn't get 10feet without feeling like I was going to die-just do a little every day and add a little when you can-you'll do it, I'm sure!
MEL, she's preg again-not much space between the two kids. Does that mean you'll be coming down when she has the baby??? Glad to hear you're doing well. What's on your agenda this summer? Yes, the rains are bad, actually, just finished raining here.
WOW, finally caught up. Well, the sun is trying to peek out and it seems from what I can see out the window the rains have stopped. I think I will go make an assesment outside to see if I can go and then try to prod my butt out there-don't feel like going but I REALLY need to go-even if I just walk, it's better than nothing.
I'll check in this evening after Lauren goes to her dance if Michael doesn't need the computer. I have some recipes to post, along with lots of pictures.
Oh, I did post my JUNE GOALS on the JUNE GOAL BOARD - I'm vowing only to hop on the scale 6 times next month-pray for me!!!

Happy Thursday Gang:wave:
The board has been busy today. Not much going on here. Nice day 82. Got my walk in before work today. Got to jog a little. Trying to mix things up a bit.
Tree, Thanks for the tips. Some of your ideas sound good. I might have to try the cream cheese, pudding thing.
Tranquil, Riding 4 miles and walking. Good for you. Determination means wt loss.
Bob, I will call Fresh Market. I have been to the Westport Rd Wal-mart. They don't carry it. The man at the Flowers Bakery told me they don't ship to Lou. Thanks for your help.
Toni, The scale is moving down, come on! LOL
Fruit, Sounds like you have been busy. If you get the urge to clean, come on up to my house. Hope your surgery goes well. Waiting for you to get back on the board regular. Why do you take the Lupron shots? My DD is getting ready to take them for her endometrosis. How have you handled them? I am a little concerned about them.
Country, Glad you are having a nice vacation.Deer hunting? You have to be pretty fit for that.
Sheann, Glad things are getting better for you. WTG on your new loss. How's your son doing?
Mama, The only problem I see with your menu is you had too many carbs. I counted 4, you can only have 3. You might want to throw in a few more veggies and 1 more fruit if you can just to fill you up. Glad you all are ok. I heard about all the weather there. Good luck.
Monet, That is wonderful news about your DS. Keeping her in my prayers. I sincerely hope you can find a dress easily. Girl, you make me nervous.
ChrisB, Estee makes a SF catsup. It's pretty good. Now that I don't eat french fries, I really don't have much need for catsup. Deb posted a baked bean recipe last week. Haven't tried it yet. You could have some SF ice cream at nite, cheese, veggies and dip, peanuts. Keep up the good work.
Gracious, Sounds like your help is invaulable. You have some good workers. Don't eat those cookies!!
Beth, Sounds like you finally got some well deserved rest. Wow! You have alot of piercings. You have had your share of mishaps. It always seems that when one thing breaks it starts a chain. Glad your SD is doing better. Is he going to do SB?
Mel, WOW 2% drop in BF in 3 weeks. That's great.
Trish, It sounds exciting for your son, but I can imagine that you are nervous. I sure would be. You can find a personal trainer at a gym. I called a friend who I knew worked out alot to get a name and she offered to do it. She charges me $30.00 everytime she comes to change my routine. (about every 6 weeks). She doesn't come everyday and work out with me. This way I have the luxury of doing it when I want. It's been great.
Have a great day all. Try to check in later.;)

Hi All:
Monet - I surely would not worry about the ham - a very trivial thing - and it seems from your posts that you are going above and beyond to make this a special wedding for your child - and Dillards is the place to go :) I never not find anything when going, of course, never quite the price I want to pay, but you ought to find something gorgeous for sure!
Homeschool - How does one go through life not having an orange? I have to say you are extremely unique! I love oranges - of course, you have to get a good sweet one
that is dripping and juicy!
Sheann - WTG on the weight loss - good for you!!!!!!!
BOB - I whole heartedly agree about Bandits - Billy Bob had me rolling on the floor LOL!!!!
Country - Glad you are enjoying your vacation and glad to hear that the weight is starting to fall off :)
Fruit -Good Luck and hope all goes very well for you :)
ChrisB - There is sugar free ketchup out there - and there are sugar free recipes for ketchup as well - I am pretty sure someone here has a recipe or link to share with you :) You need to get yourself something SF to make you feel like you are not deprived - SF Ice Cream, or SF Ice Pop - something would be my suggestion for those moments when others are tempting you with their indulgences - or make a rule that they cannot have that stuff anymore in the evening when you feel weak.... Thankfully it is just my son and I and he is fine with SF Ice Cream - and we are not sweet freaks anyway - our weakness has always been the pasta and bread :)
Beth - I know what you mean about the checkbook emptying! I have to go get new tires asap on my little suv and it is going to cost me a good fortune - but it has to be done - it rained the other day and I could feel myself slipping and sliding - scary.... Glad to hear your SD is doing much better!! I could only do 3 piercings in the ear - the 3rd hurt for so long afterwards I could not do it again....I cannot imagine piercing anything else!!
Hahaha but I do have tattoos.....that was nothing, like a cat scratch when they fill in the color - but the one color one was not painful at all....on my ankle.
Mel - Sounds like you are just building up some good ole muscle - good for you!!!!
Trish - I belong to a gym that has trainers that you can get appointments with - they are expensive at my gym - so I could only afford 6 hours - $33.00 an hour - I might continue
after I use up my 6 hours with an hour a month just to keep up on a program and keep me motivated.... I love to see a difference in my body, and I know that if I can have
someone help me get on the right routine for what I want I will be very happy..... There are a lot of women at the gym that have a trainer with them every day of the week! I cannot imagine how expensive that must be!!! I need to find myself a husband soon
who can afford to send me to the gym with a personal trainer ;)
Deb - I am sticking with my own scale - I think it is best, especially when it reads exactly the same as the doctor’s - and I don’t want to feel on cloud nine at the gym to turn
around every morning and think I have gained because it weighs more..... this morning I was 255 - so I know I am just bloated.....cycle thing here too.....
Here is what I ate yesterday (very similar to how I normally eat):
WW Toast Slice - dry
WW slice Bread -1 slice - with chicken salad
served with Greek Salad (homemade)
Salad again dinner, cup of roasted chicken
snack - 10-12 triscuit thins and some cheddar cubes
(I also substitute ww toast for a piece of fruit - I like to snack on strawberries, grapes, etc. rather than triscuits)
Some dinners are spinach ww pasta and homemade spaghetti sauce that I make and now freeze for future dinners..... and I make turkey meatballs (using no starches)

Good morning everyone.. Its still gloomy here in old Missouri. I wonder if its going to rain off and on like this all summer...Anyway truth be known I'll probably be praying for it about Aug. I'm staying OP and it seems like its getting a little easier. Maybe cause I just went grocery shopping. Always pleased with myself when I get all my water in.
Tranquil- What do you count the triscuts as? I love them but I thought four were a bread servint?
Jack-K- Okay you get off that scale.... I'm going to have a great loss this week, I can feel it in my bones, LOL....
Debilli- Thanks for the info on Trader Johns, I'm going on a little 3 day trip for my birthday in July for my birthday and we're going to Springfield and I'll look there and see if they have one... Hope you get a picture of your daughter all dressed up and show us. Sure hope she has a great time...
Trishaloo-Guess we'll be swimming with mosquitos this year. The rivers are so high. And they say its driving snakes more in land, so we'll have to watch about copperheads this year. I worry about my dogs being bitten.
Meliris-Sounds like you're doing great with the body fat. Keep up the good work...
Beth-My sweet little DIL has many pierceing and looks so good. But they would sure look yucky on me... Boy thats hard on you working nights. My hubby has an awful time. He's either working or sleeping!! That night time really messes you up. Tomorrow is his Monday...
Gracious- I'm glad your house is going as planned. Good luck this coming week-end with it.. Yep you got a great deal paying the man with Cherry Blossoms. But they do sound wonderful...
Chris- When you're kids eat donuts or ice cream you just don't and you learn that and get used to it. Because this is a WOE for life. I'm a sweet addict and I just know I can't and don't think about what my husband eats. And it gets easier. Have your legal snack and tell your self its so good and pretty soon it will be. When you see that weight dropping off you can really be proud.
Monet-Wow you are in a whirl wind. Hope everything goes fine and you have time to enjoy your self... Prayers for your sister... Know you must be beside yourself with worry...
Homeschooling Mama- The only thing I see wrong is to many starchy carbs. and not enough vegetables and water.
SheAnn-Congrads on losing the weight. You're doing really well..
CountryMom-woo hoo congrads on the weight. Are you going to bow hunt this deer season.
Have a great vacation...
Fruitloupe-Be glad when you can come back full time. Prayers for your surgery. Hurry back....
Well guess I'd better get moving. I've sat here to long and I'm hungry... Have a great day......

Just a quick question. How can your body fat percentage go down but the scale stay the same? I would assume that could be possible if one was lifting weights and gaining muscle mass while at the same time losing fat. I haven't lost any weight in over a week now, and I've been OP all of that time. I'm cutting back my caffeine and legal carbs to see if that will start me losing again. Also, i'm starting my second week of cardio workouts, and I'm wondering if the sudden increase in activity might in some way be the reason the scale isn't moving? I have been drinking plenty of water. Actually I'm drinking even more than before since I started my workouts. Anyone else see stalls in loss when starting cardio on a regualr basis? I know stalls are a natural part of weight loss for many of us, but I'm just trying to stay in the right frame of mind. :) Thanks

I hate it, but I did it.... stocked up on veggies!! I gotta get a move on!!
TRISH - AMEN on that jogging girl!! I made it about 50 feet and thought my lungs were going to explode!! I walked the rest of the way!!! It's gonna be rough on me, but I'm determined to do it!
Jack-K - I don't have a lot of piercings, just several unusual ones.LOL. I actually only wear earrings in my bottom 2 holes on each side, and in the top cartilage piercing on the left. The rest I just don't have the earrings to fill...LOL.
Tranquil - I have a tattoo between my shoulder blades. It's a Celtic Knot and I LOVE it. It didn't hurt a bit and I'm gonna get a lower back piece later this year after I lose more weight. I drew it and I've been saving it for when I finally hit 150! I actually loved the way it made my skin numb while they were shading it... I'll see if my close up pic of it will attach at the bottom of this post :)
Toni - It's always nice to find people who judge you from the inside out :) I know your DIL appreciates it more than you know. I try to keep my appearance tasteful. I have a clear retainer I put in the tongue ring when I need to, for appearance sake... but even when I don't... I wear a simple silver barbell. Everything else is covered, unless I wear a tank top to show the tattoo, and it's nice and tasteful too. I hate for people to see the tongue ring and decide I must be some sort of freak or hoodlum, when I'm really just a PTA mom who works to take care of her kids, and just likes to have a little fun and express myself with jewelry. I just figure maybe the tongue ring is a good thing, people pre-judge me and don't talk to me... and it's better than wasting my time on them and then finding out later how judgemental they are. :)
Well... I'm off for a salad with some cheese and tuna and more WATER!!! Good Beth Drink Water...LOL!!!!
Bye Ya'll ;)

Forgot to try and post the pic of my tattoo ;) It's about 3" x 3" and is right between my shoulder blades :) I found one I liked on the internet, and redrew and modified it a little to my tastes.

Hi All:
I am one of those wicked ex-smokers! And, today a co-worker had a heart attack - her third one - has she quit smoking and drinking after the first two? NOPE!!! have not heard from family at hospital yet - she is 45, thin, but smoker/drinker, and no exercise.
Daramus - If you are working out - building muscle, doing cardio and on plan - it might just take a few weeks to start working.... building a little muscle can replace a little bit of loss fat - and when you have that muscle, it is supposed to start eating up the fat .... so I have been told that within three months of working out and building up your body you can expect to start seeing a difference - which means patience..... Don't get discouraged!!! Soon you will be a lean, mean fighting machine if you keep up the good work!!!!
Beth - I love your tattoo - beautiful - I like the Chinese symbols and on a girl's weekend away in Panama City Beach, spending the weekend there with 2 other single moms....we got goofy and ended up getting the symbols on our ankles - the tattoo artist was a hulking mass of tattoos, long hair and the prettiest eyes ;) Then I have one on my behind!! Yes, and it is a daisy with a little busy bee - silly me :dizzy:
I had half a chicken salad sandwich on legal bread; small salad with Zeus Greek Dressing (0 g sugar) and grape tomatoes (4) and feta cheese sprinkled on it - yummy..... and because of the hectic day - no breakfast at all - just the sandwich/salad combo.... tonight I am making burgers with DS for dinner tonight, he leaves tomorrow evening for Gramma's in IL!

On the subject of tattoos, I got mine almost a year ago. I found two separate designs, which we merged together to form the final drawing. It's about 5" high and 7" wide, across my lower back (the final prongs at the bottom are about 1/4" from the bottom of my spine).
I also have my navel pierced. It IS a problem with jeans - with my short waist, I found that keeping my curved barbell in 99% of the time helped immensely. When I put in a ring, it's only for a day or so, when I am wearing a sundress or a swimsuit.
I got a pair of low-rise jeans, to see if that worked better, but I haven't had the courage to wear them yet (still feeling very fat & flabby (*sigh*).
I want to get a butterfly or two (or three) soon. The first will be just below my existing tattoo. I might get a small one on my ankle, and if I can find just the right design, another on my left shoulder.
My future stepson saw my tattoo (well, the top part of the cross) for the first time last weekend. He said, "I really like your tattoo." This from an 8 year old! I can only imagine he's told his mom I have one.
Have to run for now, but saw the topic and wanted to chime in! :)
Here's my tattoo:

Jenn - WOW - that is some tattoo! Very nice - When I am thin, and fit - then I will think about it - but basically I want your celtic like design without the cross where yours is - at the base of my back - right there at the small of my back (I guess that is how you would describe it...) I also like dragons - my son wants one - I told him he had to wait till he was away from home and started his career after college - just so that he gets it somewhere safe and reasonable in the event it is some high profile employment that would look down upon tattoos.... :( When he goes to work maybe it won't be looked down upon.....

Afternoon Gang
Getting ready to head home. I'm ready and tired. DD came in at 4:30 this morning. The garage door woke me up and I couldn't go back to sleep, so at 5:00 I took my walk. Now I'm sleepy. I love kids. LOL
Deb, our cruise leaves from Ft. Lauderdale. Yes it does suck to be a woman most of the time. Hope Lauren has a ball at her dance? Does she take a date? Can't wait to check out the pics.
Tranquil, Your meal looks ok to me. You are having 3 carbs a day, but that is ok unless it causes you not to lose. Some people never learn until its too late. Hope your co-worker recovers.
Toni, I know I have to stay off the scale. Deb's bad habits are converting me. LOL
Daramus, IMHO, if you have just started cardio I wouldn;t think it would be muscle yet. You could just be at a plateau. Just keep up the good work. You are doing great. If you are getting close to your gaol, you will slow down.
Beth, I liked your tattoo. It is really neat. You gotta be you.
Jenn, I want my navel pierced, when I can find it that is. LOL. Probably won't though, chicken. Might have to do the tattoo though. Your's sounds neat too.
Have a great nite all. Tomorrow is Friday, Yeah!!:)

HiedieHo All!!!
I'm sooo excited! Tomorrow is the big day! Melf will be here. I made some seafood salad to go on a bed of lettuce. Then thought some are allergic to fish so quickly made some deviled eggs. I suppose there are people allergic to the too! Have some four bean salad, some cheese wedges, Triscuits and SB Multigrain bread and SF Jello w/ lite cool whip. Hopefuly that will suffice!
Been working on PW history for this past year. There is some decrepancy with old historian. Can't tell where she began or left off, the National church calendar or our fiscal year.
Did NH thing today and did a little shopping for tomorrow, didn't have all the ingredients on hand.
BOB: I know that feeling, you want to put a skateboard under your arse to make it easier to get around. Of course, if you are smaller than me, you could use a roller skate!!!
GRACIOUS: In PA we had gypsy moths, in the catterpilar stage, so bad you could actually here them chewing as they denuded the trees. The woodlands were just stripped. People had to sweep the feces up! Then they sprayed to contain them and it killed a lot of the birdlife. We used to go through 500# or more of birdseed throughout the fall and winter. Would buy it from a Wildlife Preserve twice a season. At the end of the first half we still had almost all of our supply. When we checked reason, we thought bad seed, we found out others had the same result. Experts said the spraying killed the moth but birds ate the bugs and such that also were sprayed and it killed them Sad isn't it?
OKay! That's enough! More cheerful things!!
CHRIS: I make mac and cheese w/ WW pasta all the time. I always use extra sharp cheddar as the ww needs a little more punch, IMHO, than regular pasta. It freezes well and I have lunches or meals that I can have when I fix no-nos for my family.
Thank God for freezers. I always have a dish of something in there. No I didn't get to Peddlars Village, altho I hear it's great! Sweet things........SF Jello or pudding, Simply Fruit on a couple of Triscuits (I think the thin ones best.) fruit, I just discovered apples and PB, yum!, yogurt doctored up with fruit & sweetener.
3MILLS: When we decide to have Subway. I get the filling as a salad, forget the bread!! Estee has good Ketchup, I use it all the time.
JENN: I like the sound of your wedding plans! Sometimes sensible is better. Memories are important, but if it takes a lot of cash to make a memory,,,,,,, You'll be one, that's the thing!
THUNDER: We didn't get much rain, I rescued the pillows on the deck and it rained less time than the task. When we got out of choir practice last night, about 8 or so, it was a beautiful rain, by the time I drove 3 miles home it stopped. During the night a lot of noise but no rain. Today it spritzes now and then, but like you we need the real thing!
SOL: I thought I saw a streak, but it went by so fast I'm not sure who it was!!!!!!
DEB: Sitting on the floor three hours? Walking on your rump is supposed to be a good exercise for reducing it!! Hope you made good use of the time down there, other than the grout! WW English Muffin!?!? Where? By who? I love Thomas's muffins, but their ww not legal. I tried the sourdough kind that WinnDixie carries but they ain't so great! Hmmmmmm, I ve made homemade english muffin bread. I wonder........ I'd rather make a whole new outfit, they make repairs or alterations!
FRUIT: Don't kill yourself getting the house cleaned up before surgery, you need a little relaxation before it. I have found, in my many years of wisdom gaining experience, that the things we think MUST be done because we think they MUST, don't necessarily have to be done!!! They will always be there when we get to them! Will keep you in thoughts.
COUNTRY: You want to shoot Bambi's mother? I lived in an area where they did not have school on the first day of deer season or on doe day. People lived for it, never got really interested. I have cooked deer many times, many ways but really don't care for it. Would rather have a good steak or beef roast anytime........doesn't bother me that they kill Ferdinand for that!!! And hey, Henny Penny!!! Forget it, I want my roast chicken, let the sky fall!
HOME: Like you I needed the reminder of more fiber veggies and protein. I do like my breads, cereals etc. But everyone keeps reminding me they are no-nos after a certain point!!! Ah, the things we have to do!
QUIV: We all have some fears after 911, but we can't let it rule our lives. I'm somewhat of a fatalist. When your time comes, it comes no matter where you are. I flew to Germany after Entebbe and the Rome airport bombing. There were those that said we were crazy, but I should miss a good time because of something I have no control over.........I don't think so! N.O. is an international port city, on the news there are always "what if" stories of how it could be attacked. The other day they were talking about poisoning the water etc. I know you lived in the city the tradegy happened in, there are others that are going through the same thing. I bet there are lots of different support groups to help people face their fears. Oh dear, I'm sorry. I just have big fingers (I don't type with my mouth!!).
Yesterday when GD got home from school she was all excited. The DVD she ordered arrived, Harry Potter, she had seen the movie but I hadn't. So we sat down and wtched it. I was almost late to choirpractive! It was good.
That's it for now. Take care, Shirley

Good evening everyone. Had to go to Wal-Mart for my medicine. They always seems to screw it up every month. Like I've been taking the same stuff since 1998 and they've been mailing it to me every month!!! Stopped and had a patty melt. Guess just a salad for dinner tonight. That patty melt was awfully feeling...
Sef- Wow wish I was coming to your house tomorrow. Sounds like a great menu! Thats such a shame about the birds. Those gypsy moths are awful...
Jack-K-Oh you lucky thing to take a cruise, I've always wanted to do that... I guess I missed when you're going and where to. Tell nosey me...
Tranquil- My son is in the army and escaped me so he could get tattos. Of course my older son had to get them too. Boy that smokeing is bad stuff. I'm also an ex smoker and in 1997 smoked up to the hospital door to have a triple by-pass. Luckily I lived to walk up to the door. That was the end of my smokeing. You know its weird but if I could live and smoke I still would be. I'm still learning all the time about SB. I wish they would come out with a little better book that explains more things. I am a triscuit lover.........
Jenn in MN- I think with young people those tattos are really popular. My DIL has a tiny rose with a cross in it on her ankle. That can be your goal to get fit and trim..
Beth-Good job getting those veggies in. Good for you Beth just be who you are. And if someone doesn't like you for it pooie on them.
Daramus- I'll bet your body just has to adjust to something different. I just got off a stall and I just guess it was just because my body felt like it.. Its hard not to get discouraged but it will move....
Guess I'll go start dinner, I know my DH is hungry... Got to wrap Grandkids birthday presents and get them ready for the mail. Its supposed to be 88 here tomorrow. Woo Eeee summer has arrived in Missouri.....

Thought I'd put in my 2 cents on the scale vs. exercise issue.... Unless you've been completely sedentary, it's unlikely that cardio will add muscle. Especially if you are doing either long or intense sessions. Cardio burns sugars in the bloodstream, then starts on muscle when it runs out. That's why endurance runners look gaunt, not muscled up. Now, if you've been lifting weights, it's very possible that you are losing body fat, building muscle, and seeing no change on the scale. During my first Body for Life challenge (a bodybuilding and nutrition program with the nutrition similar to SB) I only lost 2 pounds of scale weight, but 7% body fat. That means the total fat pounds I lost was 11.5, and total muscle added was 9.5. Because muscle takes up so much less space than puffy ole fat, I looked a lot smaller, even tho I weighed only 2 pounds less. Also, I looked a LOT better, not just smaller. So add some weights! Just remember you need to lift to failure to break down muscle tissue, which then rebuilds itself bigger and stronger with the healthy food you eat!
I guess that was more than 2 cents. I'm a bit of a crusader about this....

Toni - I am glad you quit smoking :D that way you could be such a great giver of support on this group!!!! I loved my cigarettes too - but I knew I had to quit - I have asthma.... I also know how hard it is to quit - I took Wellbutrin for 3 months and that was it - I was off cigarettes! That is funny that your son joined the Army and got away from you to get tattoos! hahaha - I wonder what mine will do :)
I just got back from a 2.1 mile walk - my ds pooped out first - and he was on roller blades... my Gram was doing much better than I was - she is really getting a lot of benefit from all this walking! She said her joints are feeling much better - especially her hip. Soon she will be running circles around me.
Well time to get DS in shower and packed for his trip - and then cuddle time before bed, I am going to miss him!

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!! :p
BOB is SO MUCH BETTER today...;)
I started on a different medicine to work on the congestion. I just hope it doesn't move into my chest. FINGERS CROSSED EVERYONE :^:
MONET....Get on down to RICHE'S and get that dress.. They have the best department for us ;) OR you could play it up big and go over to PHIPPS PLAZA or LENOX SQUARE...I'm sure that Neiman Marcus or Lord and Taylor would love to have you spend you money with them! All kidding aside, when Lord and Taylor has a sale, they actually have some decent prices.
GOOD LUCK!!!
DEB...DANGIT GIRL ...I don't mean for you to pack your panties and leave tomorrow! We don't want to go to NANCY'S until they get moved and all the boxes are unpacked ;)
Be sure and take a picture or LAUREN tonight and put it on the board. Tell Michael that BIG BROTHER is coming back really soon.
AND OF COURSE...the mini series THE HAMPTONS starts on Sunday.
MOVIE UPDATE....Didn't like SPY GAME....I love Robert Redford and Brad Pitt, but just couldn't get into the movie at all...tried twice..
SEF..Enjoy your day with MELF...you're gonna have a good time and your menu sounds good enough to drive over for...what time is lunch???
BETH and JENN...great tatoos...I wouldn't mind a little DONALD DUCK somewhere...just need to get my nerve up..
I'm watching PEARL HARBOR...I bought it the other day. It's definately one of those movies to watch more than once.
SHOPPING UPDATE
MEMORIAL DAY couldn't end without me shopping...I drug my tired, sick ole arse out to TJ MAXX...bought a yoga ball, body fat analyzer (sp?) French perfume for $11 per bottle...bought 3

Well dangit! I don't have any tatoo pictures to share...do monster stretch marks count? How about the spider veins on my leg that look like a web? I could ink in a black widow on that? Geez, I feel lke a nerd or even a McNerd or Mega Nerd now! Only thing pierced are the ears....guess I'm middle-aged mom:(
Chris I haven't made WW Mac-n-cheese but it sound delicious! Those oatmeal, p-nut butter with chocolate cookies sound DANGEROUS!!!! Remember 3 grams of sugar per serving or less. I don't think they would be legal. When you see people eating donuts and ice cream in front of your face....run into the bathroom, strip your clothes off, look at your back side in your monster mirror and the cravings will instantly disappear....or go to Target (ther open til 10:00pm) and try on clothes you wished you'd fit in and look at yourself in one of those three way mirrors...that works for me....or you can try giving yourself a complete pedicure and realize you can't reach over your gut to paint your toenails....I'm such a smart a_ _! Forgive me....I'm in a silly mood!
Toni I will hunt out the oatmeal cookie recipe and try them out....I usually torcher my family with new recipes and watch there faces carefully before I'll try it!
Zippy Liverface I could swear I saw your name on the board, but it was so quick, couldn't be sure if it was REALLY you.
What is the Vincemeister doing with you. I fear you're still walking around that 10 mile loop!
HSMama Looks like you need to eat more fruit and veggies, and try to get that 8 glasses of water in....are we exercising?
Monet Di we find a dress yet?
Deb Please don't make me get out a map and add up all the little miles from here to Ferndale. It's about an inch down from Oregon, and way above San Fran. It was 106 here today, and 58 degrees there....what would you want to do if you were me? EXACTLY! Plus it would be a new place for you to visit me at!
BOB Had to open up the "french" e.mail when Dan walked into the bedroom :o ....now he'll probably question this whole trip thing to North Carolina...and who is supposed to be sitting by my side in the VAN!!!!! Don't worry, I covered for you. How's the weight thing going at work???
Okay...the Nancemeister has to go to music practice.....catch up later!

NANCY...don't worry, all we have to do is start whispering TJ's TJ's TJ's in Deb's ear and she'll get those panties packed!!! Your mission if you move is to find the nearest cheap airport...

OK! I found a dress! Well, not a dress, but a royal blue short sleeved suit. I am going to try and find either a royal blue or white hat, and a scarf to jazz it up. I got it at Dillards on sale!
(aren't you proud of me, Bob? 33% off! Not as good as the $180 silk dress for $27, but a sale is a sale!)
Then I need shoes...
Also gotta find shoes for my younger daughter..she is the maid of honor and needs to get her shoes so her dress can be hemmed. I am NOT looking forward to shopping for them with her. She is terribly picky about shoes.
So tomorrow morning I will be off to a different mall in search of the hat, scarf and shoes.

Hey everyone!
Can you believe it - 2 nights in row!! WOW! Thanks to all of you for the well wishes for my upcoming surgery! I know everything will go well….I've had so many different surgeries that I don't even get nervous anymore! The only good thing about this one is that I don't have to take a laxative or enema before!!! HAHA! We are working on the opposite end of the body this time! THANK GAWD!
COUNTRY: Glad to hear your vacation is going well. My hubby loves to hunt. He does have a bow but never hunts with it - go figure! Enjoy the rest of the vacation and keep us posted!!
SHEANN: Way to go on getting out of the 270s! I'm so proud of you. You will hit that 259 before you know it - keep up the great work!
HSMAMA: I can't believe that you have never eaten an orange before! That's un-American! Doesn't it feel good to stay on plan? I always feel much better when I make it through a day without a cheat! What a success!
MONET: Sounds like you are one busy chic! I need some help redoing my classroom- feel like taking a trip? I'm decorating my classroom this year in all purple and gold - I'm a huge LSU fan and my room should reflect my personality and favorite things! So, I'm gonna paint the wall white and they splatter purple and gold(yellow) all over the walls. It will be so cute! So, feel free to come down and help! HAHA!
CHRISB: When I get hungry at night- I go to bed!! Sorry I can't help with that question! I drink water and go to bed!! I'm looking for a ketchup too - so if you find one - let me know!!
GRACIOUS: WOW - you are very busy too!! How do you keep up?! Those cookies sound yummy - can you bake them and not have one? Or do you have at least one?
BETH: OMG - you have your nipples done too?!? WOW! I went down to the French Quarter with my friend and her daughter so that her daughter can get her belly button done. While I was there I called some of my friends and play a joke on them. I told them that I was getting my nipples pierced! It was so funny to hear the different reactions! All I can say is OUCH! Oh yeah - as far as the $$ situation goes. I've just plain ole accepted the fact that I'm never gonna have extra cash - something ALWAYS happens to screw that up!! Hey - cool tattoo! I just don't want to have anything that will permanent because I change my mind all the time. One day I may like them - the next day - can't stand them!! HAHA! So, I'll just have to stick to the fake ones if I have the urge!
MEL: Way to go on the body fat loss! WOO HOO! That's fabulous! You know - I'm terrible with bed rest! Oh well - I'll have to make it work! My hubby has been joking about how wonderful it will be with me not talking but I tell you - I'm gonna fix him. I've packed my little bell from my classroom and I'm gonna ring that sucker every 15 minutes just to aggravate the crap out of him!! HAHA! He'll be sorry he made that comment! I'm not sure about eating after the surgery - I'm gonna find that out on Monday when I go for my pre-op stuff.
DEB: Do you have a sealer over that grout? If not - after you get it cleaned - you better seal it - it will prevent it from getting so bad in the future. I tell you what - you could be that sore from grout cleaning! All of that up and down stuff - squatting on the floor sure works some muscles that you don't even know you have! I think I'm making a good choice too - you know - waiting to try again. If I don't and I miscarry again - I will always wonder if it was because of the weight. So, I'm waiting for now. Nope - we won't be able to chat on the phone but I'll be looking for you online!! LOL!
JACK-K: This is my 2nd round with the Lupron shots. Mine is for the endometriosis too. I've had 2 surgeries for it. The last time I did them, I only did 3 months of shots. I'm doing 6 months this time. I NEED to lose weight before I go back to the fertility specialist - he is obsessed with weight! So, I'm glad that I'm on them longer. I actually haven't had too many problems - I do get hot flashes and I'm moody some days - but nothing major - I like to blame the moodiness on the shot - but it's probably all me and nothing to do with the shot!! HAHA! The only thing that is bad with the shot is that it costs so much! Each shot is over $900. My portion after insurance is $151 - and those add up! So, I hope your DD has good insurance!!
JENN: That's a cool tattoo too! Like I said before - they are just so permanent! I would hate to get one and then hate it after a short period of time!!
SEF: You and MELF are meeting without me?!? I'm so sad!! Can we all get together after I'm out of my no talking period?!? PUUULLEEEEZZZZ!!! Let me know! I can come to Slidell any week day after that - we'll be out of school!!
BOB: Glad to hear you are feeling better today. Did you read my post to MONET about my classroom? I think you need to help too! After all, I know you just love purple and gold! HAHA! Actually you could visit with on of my teacher friends - he is from TENN and he is a huge TENN fan. We always laugh when either one of us wears our teams shirts!! Nothing like a little rivalry at the work place!! The thing he has going against him is that our boss is a huge LSU fan like me!! HAHA!
NANCE: I have those same body marks - we must have gone to the same tattoo parlor!! LOL! Aren't they gross? I can't stand the veins - they are so ugly!
Well, I guess I'll run for now! Don't think I'll be back until Sunday cause we are going to our camp. So, see ya then! Tomorrow is the last day of school! I'm so damn happy about that! I told all my students to stay home! Sorry moms - but I'm sick of them!!

HiedieHo All!!!
Let's see, I have a menu and I've dusted. Tomorrow morning just need to make bed, vacuum and clean me so I look good for a picture and don't want Melf to think she's met a raunchy person!
But DEB, cheesecake pose?!? You got to be kidding!! Would you do one? You certainly could! Now don't start protesting, we've all seen pictures of our Queen Deb!
Just had to settle a question about Jack Nicholson for my GD. We graduated together so she thinks I'm an expert on Nicholson. Years ago some business was offering $100 for a yearbook that had his signature in it, and had to be mint condition. Sell? I think not. Besides my cover is smoked because of the house fire we had in '58.
FRUIT: We were supposed to meet on the 18th, remember? Melf couldn't make it because of wedding, and you weren't able to answer my post. We will all get together I am sure. I would love to meet you.
I don't know why I'm here, lousy TV night and didn't feel like stitching! Besides I love to catch up with y'all.
Take care, sef

Hi Everyone,
I'm checking in on Day 2 of this WOE. I stayed OP all day. Lunch was the only time I wanted to jump ship. The kids and I were out so we stopped at Wendy's. I had their BLT salad instead of my usual. It just wasn't the same, but I ate the salad.
I didn't take a walk today. But I did take one yesterday. I know...I need to work on that. I was busy today and didn't realize the time until it was dark. I tried to talk my hubby into going with me, but his leg is bothering him.
Ok, the general agreement is that I'm eating too many carbs. Now that I know I can start making adjustments to my WOE. I also need to drink more water.
About the oranges -- I've tried very little fruits. Until this WOE I've only eaten starches. Very little meat; very, very little veggies; no fruits whatsoever. I'm changing, though. All the recipes on this website are helping. Today I tried for the first time: Pork Chops and zuchinni. Delicious.
Debbie -- I currently weigh 275 lbs. I haven't had much of a headache (just a little one) or cravings yet (knock on wood). But, I'm soo tired. I took an hour long nap yesterday and a two hour nap today. I rarely nap during the day. Is this normal for starting this WOE?
Beth and Jenn -- Really cool tatooes. I've never been brave enough, but would like a small anklet tatoo.
That's it for tonight. Talk to everyone tomorrow.

WOW! I'm here twice in one week.
Well I think I'm getting back into the swing of exercise again!:strong: Hooray! I always feel better when I'm exercising, don't know why I stop:shrug: Eating is going pretty good. I did have some ice cream last night:nono: but felt yucky afterward, so remembering that feeling will help curb the craving next time! My water drinking has increased also.
Thanks for the well wishes for my son. He's doing a lot better and went to school yesterday and played his little heart out.
DEB: Hand foot and mouth disease is very contagious and fairly common among young kids. the hands feet and mouth are covered in painful sores. In DS's case, he only had it in his mouth. He had dozens of canker-like sores all over his mouth and tongue. Didn't eat for 5 days (and this kid eats pretty much everything--even asks for seconds on broccoli and zucchini!) cause his mouth was so sore. DS was actually pretty good about it. I would have been pulling out my hair and asking for something to make me sleep until it was gone! Wouldn't wish it on anyone!
Oh JEEZE! There's the big thunder storm! I better get off the puter!
Hopefully I'll talk to you all soon!

Good morning all!! We've had much rain here yesterday evening. Don't have to worry about the garden being watered while we're gone :D
Well, we've packed & ready to load up & head out. Looking forward to meeting SEF around lunch time. She has been so gracious as to ask us over to her house for lunch. I'm so excited to finally meet her.
Then tomorrow as we pass through Jacksonville, we'll be meeting Tranquil for lunch too at one of our favorite stopping places, the Outlet Mall!!!
Monday, Slaphappy will be our guest & I have special plans to treat her to a cajun meal. SB legal of course!
That is a quick run down on the highlights of our plans, but also, my DS & BIL are coming also & we're all excited about that. My Sis came by yesterday & had a REAL smile on her face about being able to come with us. That is a true blessing for us.
Will try to check in next week, as I know where the Library is in NSB!!! Bye ya'll

Good Friday Morning:wave:
Quickie here, just to check in this morning-will play catch-up at some point later. Haven't gotten in my walk today, was raining this morning and I didn't sleep well last night either, which doesn't help motivate me to get out there-but I'm going to try.
FRIDAY FUNNY
Q. Why do sea-gulls fly over the sea?
A. Because if they flew over the bay they would be bagels!
Will be back later!:)
Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Vacation is going great. We were able to get out again yesterday to the bow shop. They gave me a new peep site. So with the new Whisker Biscuit....arrows..and peep sight..I think I have it just about sighted back in. My husband still blew me away but most of my shots were barely out of the score zone. Still being fairly new at this, it's still such a rush. As competative as I am, I can hardly wait to blow him away one day....LOL
You know what I find amazing? How our perceptions can really change how we feel about things. I weigh the same thing I've weighed for months now...yet when I'm in a great mood I feel almost good about myself...versus on a bad day when I feel like the puff girl. So today I'm praying everyone gets a true perception of your selves and sees all the progress and good changes you are making. I think we are tougher on ourselves than we are others.
Eating on vacation is going well. Yesterday I had a little treat for lunch. Fried liver and gizzards. But it all worked out because at dinner I was still full and didn't eat. But let me tell ya, I was paying for it about 11 last night. Started to get hungry.:) Had a few grape tomatoes and went to bed. I haven't been able to walk but have been working out so hopefully that will balance things out in the end.
Toni I hear ya about the snakes. They are coming out something terrible here also. But for a different reason...they are looking for water.
Beth I know what you mean about being the typical mom...LOL I don't have any wild piercings but I do have four in each ear...and a tattoo. Nobody can tell unless I tell them. It's fun to shock people sometimes. :)
Tree I hope your head is better this morning.
Tranquil Thank you. You are doing great on your walks.
Sef Oh yeah...Gonna go after Bambi's moma and daddy..LOL At least I think so. I'm worried about how I will feel after my first kill. But since it's to fill the freezer I think it will be okay. I love venision and it's very low in fat, almost none and very high in protien. Gonna go after Porky pig too.:D If I chicken out I will stick to the targets.
ChrisB Howdy! Nice to meet ya. If I get the munchies at night I eat a spoon of peanut butter or some SF ice cream. If it's past eating time I will usually just drink some water or go to bed. As for the ketchup I just eat the real stuff and make sure I eat it with protien, like meatloaf or hamburger.
Furit Your classroom is gonna be so cool next years. It's sound neat with all those colors.
Monet Your suit sounds just lovely. Hope you find just the right shoes today.
HomeschoolMomma When your body gets use to your new WOE you will get your energy back and then some. Hang in there.
Zanne Glad your son is doing better. That sounds so painful.
Sheann Super on reaching a new low!
Trish Thanks it's been a fun vacation so far. Mostly just being together and not arguing. That's the best part.
Deb Man, my legs are screaming just reading about all that grout work. I think that gets to count as extra exercise. :) Thanks for the breakfast ideas. They say those that eat breakfast keep the weight off longer. But I am just not a breakfast person. I'm trying. What kind of bow did you shot? Long bow or compound?
Well, now that I've bored ya'll to pieces...WAKE UP...LOL Have a super day!!!! And remember this is a journey and you will get there one day.
Love,
Crystle

OKAY I'm going to confess what I just couln't, wouldn't post on WIW. I was up 3.5 pounds...and the last 2 days actually 4.0 I'm hoping it's a homrone thing or something!!!
I feeeeeeeel puffy, but am not due to start my cycle for another week I think ( of course it's marked on the calendar at work!)
Sometimes, it's so discouraging....but like I admitted, I did have a '"few" bad things on the weekend that I fessed up about. Either I'm one of those people who can't cheat at all (most likely) or something else is going on. I've even walked 3 times this week. I've been eating right through the week, but know I need to work on my water intake. Just wanted to whine....because I know you all will let me!
Okay enough about that.....Dan the Man called me from the lovely freeway system in So. Cal. He's going to a military exercise....calls at 6:30am (he had to leave at o'dark thirty) and said "When are we moving to Ferndale?" I had to laugh....he was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic. WHY does this people want to work in that kind of environment, pay ridiculous amounts of money for homes, and think that it's great? That's why I need to get me to my little country town, population 1,400. The only traffic jam I want is to stop for cows who are changing pastures:moo: My brother told me about a house for sale in Newport Beach area that was built in the 40's or 50's run down, small sq. ft......sold for $449,000....am people, let me tell you if it was anywhere else in the USA it would have sold for more like $49,000....that's how insane things are in So. Cal.
Melf & Sef Hope you two have a great time today...I know you will! It's so neat to be able to get together with a fellow SB'er:D
BOB The question was......HOW'S THE WEIGHT THING GOING AT WORK??????? Wanna talk? Want me to go away? Well that won't happen...cause I'm "THE GNAT" buzz....buzzzzzzzzzz.
Don't tell me that there is a TJ's in NC?!?!?!? You know how long Deb takes to go shopping there??? We might melt inthe van by the time she get through!
CountryMom Fried gizzards and liver as treats???? I can put them into stuffing at T-day....but other than that I'm having a hard time visualizing them as taste treats!
Fruit Glad to see you post, and I'll be thinking of you in spirit when the final bell for the day rings...hopefully it's a minimum day too!
Gotta get ready for work! TGIF!!!

Good morning girls...and Daramus!
I am heading to the doctor's this afternoon MONETso I will get the results of my TSH and other bloods. The fact that I didn't get a call means they are in normal range, but I will ask the exact number and see about that subclinical hypothryoidism if it is 3.5 or over. I am still fighting with these new allergies and froggy sounding throat. The pnuemonia is gone of course but the lungs are still recovering supposedly.
It is supposed to rain tomorrow but I am hopeful that we can still get some of the work on the house done, we shall see. Tonight is my son's graduation from Kindergarten. He is singing a duet and has a few other parts to do. I am going with camera in hand, waterproof mascara on my eyes and a fistful of tissues! I will be in the front row bawling my eyes out and loving every minute of it!
Update on my youngest son's accidents that he was having. Some of you gave advice for his all of a sudden wetting and even pooping his pants after being fully potty trained for ages. I am not sure what happened but I think it was 2 successive rounds of obvious punishment that helped him along. Since that time he has been accident free. It has been over a week since he has had one and that is reason to rejoice! Now if I could only get the kid to stop picking his nose!! :o
CountryMom- I have tried pulling back my husband's bow and it takes a lot of strength. Of course it is set for him but I am afraid the thing will break and hit me in the face! I am sure with practice you will at least give him a run for his money.
Melf-Have a great trip..keep safe!
HomeschoolMama- Wow, you have been missing out on lots of yummy stuff all these years. I was tired in the beginning too. Lots of people say they feel a rush of energy but I never experienced that myself, but I think it is because I am a high energy person to begin with and wouldn't notice the difference. I did find that I sleep like a baby at night..very deep and restful.
Fruitloupe- I baked 6 dozen cookies yesterday and a pan of squares but I only ate 1 cookie..all in all I thought that was pretty good!
Monet- Way to go on finding an outfit for the wedding so quick! I am sure your accessorizing will be successful too, not sure about your daughter though...they can be difficult to shop for they tell me...but she has to get them now to be ready for the wedding so maybe you will be all done by tonight!
Nance- I am the same as you..pierced ears and stretch marks accented by a variety of veins..oh and some cellulite to boot! :^: That is enough for me..thank goodness for makeup and clothes to hide all that mess!
Well it is not showing me any other posts to reply to on the bottom of this page so I will call it quits. Have a great Friday!!

Happy Happy Friday Everyone
Late posting today. Been busy here at work, had to balance my checkbook and write some bills:o . Now to post and then start working.:( At least it's Friday and been a short week.
Decided to sleep in this morning instead of getting up at 5:15 to walk. I was so tired yesterday and still didn't get to bed when I wanted to. So when DH got up I decided t skip the walk and if I feel back to sleep. Well I layed there thinking about how much I really enjoy athe morning walks, even though I'm by myself, it's cool and tranquil. and I get to job some of it. So with all that guilt I didn't fall back to sleep, so when DH left I got up and headed out. Of course I felt better about myself for doing it. Glad I did.
Nance, for some strange reason I'm in a crazy mood today too.:dizzy:
Sef, Soounds like you have such wonderfull food planned for Melf. All legal too! Hope you all have a great visit. Don't forget pictures!
Toni, the cruise isn't until Nov 10, we are going to St. Thomas, St. Martin, San Juan and th Bahamas. I can't wait. Never been on one before. It's supposed to be 90 here all weekend. I don't care at least it's warm and not raining.
Tranquil. It's nice to have people to walk with. Makes it much more fun and sounds like Gram is really enjoying it too. Miss your son, but know he is in wonderful loving hands and having fun.
Bob, so glad you are starting to feel better. Yoga all and body fat analyzer? SOunds like you are getting into this.
Tree, hope your migraine is better. My DD gets them alot. Not fun. Heard something this molrning about Arizona. I think it was 6" of rain in 2 hours. Are you floating?
Nance, I'll pu my stretch marks up against yours.LOL You crack me up. I laughed thru yur whole post. Crazy Woman!!
Monet, I feel so much better that you have found a dress. I was packing my suitcase to bring you some. Hat and scarf sound neat to jazz it up. Bet you will look spiffy. Take pictures please.
Fruit, Had to laugh about the enema. I had to give my dd one before her surgery. I thinkit was more of a big deal then the surgery itself. She said never again. Now I threaten her with them. The Lupron shot is $900> I was afraid to ask about the cost. I will probably have to pay the 180.00. Oh well the things we have to do. It will be worth it if it helps with the endo and she can still have kids. She adores children. SHe nannies for 9 mo old twins all summer. They told us she would have hot flashes and be irritable. What's new. LOL I know you can lose this weight and then be able to get preggo. Keep up the good work. You definately have some great motivation going for you. Praying for you too. PS How about some Wildcat Blue to mix in with the purple and gold??? Now we can really have a rival with Tenn, LSU & KY colors all mixed up. LOL
Mama, WTG on trying different things. I eat things I would never believe I would eat. asparagus, zuchini, squash. I try to at least try different things. I don't like tomatoes, but I am trying them some. I'm not a bid fruit eater either, but I eat an apple everyday and strawberries. Of course I love pineapple and we can't have it. WTG on the choice at Wendy's. This does get easier with time. Hang in there you are doing great.
Zanne, Glad your son is better. Maybe we all should get that disease. That would get the scale moving in the right direction. Just kidding. I know he must have been miserable.
Melf, Sef, Tranquil and Slaphappy, You will me getting up there with Deb on the people she has met. Sounds like a great time. Hope your DS and BIL can find some peace on this vacation. Have fun. Take lots of pics.
Deb, I have only one thing to say about your "funny" Corny!!
Country, sounds like you are having a great vacation. ETG on staying op and working out. I agree with you. Our preceptions about ourselves are usually negative. Some days I do like what I have accomplisehd and feel pretty good about myself. Sometimes I even think I look good. We need to think that way more often.
Have a great day. I'll check in later.

Hi All:
Quieted down in the office for a bit - wanted to post.....
You know this will be my 100th post! WOW!!!!! :D
Kimmy - are you feeling better?
Vesna - are you busy making pottery? Did you get to meet Quiv?
Quiv - are you still going to the gym? is your friend, Fran, still buddying with you on this program?
Jack-K - You know I have that same feeling - the guilt - it is not worth it, that is why I am so gung ho on this walking - I have no guilt! Good ego booster too - and self confidence.... I am walking for a goal - to be able to post that I walked 4.5 miles like Deb does..... ;) My mom is glad that I have Gram walking too - her mom - and my Gram thinks I am joking when I say that she can walk circles around me already!!!
Nance - WAY TO GO GIRL!!!! on the lowered cholesterol!!!! You are now the epitomy of health and good cholesterol levels - yeah!!!!!!!! I dont know what mine is - will ask for it to be checked at annual on Aug 1st..... scared to know.... My parents mentioned retiring to California - and that if they do, I have to move there! HAH! Vacation, for sure - love to visit...but cannot afford to buy a house to replace the one I would have to sell here..... :( I wish they would just retire here in Florida....
Gracious - AWWWWW he is singing a duet! That is so cute!!!!! Glad to hear the potty prob is cured! I bet it will take quite a while to get over that pneumonia! And you probably need to really take care of yourself not to get too sick again.... take your vitamins! These prenatal vitamins I am taking - LOVE 'EM!!! I have been feeling much better - maybe psychological - but I am!
Country - I am jealous - you sound like you are having such a terrific time and feeling so good! I imagine you are getting plenty of fresh air and exercise just getting out and doing your practice with your bow! You beat the socks off those guys!
Deb - Loved the joke - hahaha LOL!!! So corny, hehehehe :D
Monet - Sounds like you are going to be styling at the Wedding...enjoy!!!!
Zanne - glad your son is better - and keep up the good work with your working out - probably dont want to reverse all the good work eating poorly after a good workout! That is how I feel....
HomeSchool - WOW!!! I am such a nut and obsesser of food, I cannot imagine just trying the things you mentioned for the first time as an adult! Well good for you for trying them - and you will probably find something really yummy in all your new tasting and experimenting :) Ready for sushi? hahahaha - just kidding!!!
I have to go to work now - plus lunch is here - I got a spinach, artichoke and low fat mozzarella cheese on an organic whole wheat wrap - yummy!!!

Taking some me time this morning. Folded some clothes. Ate an early lunch since I skipped dinner and breakfast. I'm stuffed like a tick. :) Had a delicious hamburger with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and jalapenos....could barely eat it all. I should have stopped at half but I was greedy.
Jack-K....oooo balancing the checkbook and bills...not a fun thing around here..LOL I've had that debate myself many times about whether to walk or not walk. It always feels better when I get out and do it. But man, if I wait to long at night my hiney gets glued to my chair. Good job getting out there and getting it done this morning.
Gracious...Your hubby's bow is probably set high like my husband's. Robert is set at like 65 pounds of pressure and mine is set at 41 pounds. When I first started it was so hard but I wanted to be legal so we set it at 41. One day I hope to pull 50, but that's not gonna be anytime soon. I still poop out at the end of a long session. I told Robert it has to count as exercise. I was sweating up a storm after shooting and retrieving the arrows for 30 minutes. LOL okay maybe not really exercise but fun.
Nancy...WTG!!!! Awesome on the cholesterol! I wouldn't worry to much about the weight yet. Last week I bounced up to 158 and was about to run for the hills and eat every thing I could find. Then about a day or two later the dam broke and all the water came off...got back down to 153. But I know it's scary when it jumps up and you don't know why. If you are eating mostly right and walking it's probably water. Has it warmed up where you live? I find getting really hot can pack on a couple of pounds sometimes. That and really salty foods.
Tranquil...Hey! (waving) We were posting at the same time so I'm gonna edit..LOL Thanks..it has been fun.
I almost forgot. We have a litter of the cutest little Aussie pups. One of them appears to be blind. Please pray the little girl can hear. I think it would be very difficult to put her down. Especially on the children.
Love,
Crystle

Good afternoon everyone, getting a late start this morning.... Happy Friday to everyone.
Fruitloupe- You're lucky I'm just the other way, colonostopy for me the end ot the month. Yuck......I'm not crazy about getting ready for that... Have a blast at camp..
Sef- Good luck on your day.... Hope you have a ball...
Homeschooling Mom- Sounds like you're getting the hang of this. I'm still working on mine. Have trouble with those vegetables. And I need to get more exercise in. Sure don't know what happened to me I used to walk everyday and now out of the habit... We can do it!!!!
Zanne- So glad your DS is better... Good for you and the exercise.... Isn't there a saying about nothing tastes as good as slim feels....
Melf- wow how great your trip sounds I hope you have such a neat time.
Tranquil-Sounds like you're busy busy. Thats allot of closings for one day.... Have a great time with Melf tomorrow...
Debilli- Howdy ho..... Your joke is cute....
Country Mom- Sounds like you're getting better and better with that bow. I think you're so right about perceptions. Oh my gosh I loved fried gizzards. But haven't had any in years.
Nancemeister- You've hit a rough patch, hopefully maybe it because of not drinking enough water. Its funny the more water I drink the more I lose. Sometimes I long for the convience of city life and then I go to a big city here which isn't a tenth as big as one in Calif. and remember how bad I hate the traffic. I remember when we moved from Calif. (Anaheim) to Missouri and it took us two hours and bumper to bumper traffic to just get pointed in the right direction. The peace that surrounds me is wonderful... Great on your cholesterol...
Gracious-Good luck at the doctor's. LOL for your son. I love it... I forget all the stuff that happened with my boys while they were growing up. And love your tails.

Thanks all for the sympathy - my migraine is still here, but I'm at work, so I'd rather talk to you all. :s:
Jack-K - no rain in my area! But I'll travel to it, if you tell me where! I'm in Casa Grande, and work in Tucson. Usually my migraines mean rain 2-3 days from now. Of course I don't know if that means it's supposed to rain in CG or Tucson! :D I hope so, this heat is a scorcher - 105 again today!
Deb - I took a look at protein sources, and figure I can incorporate some tofu, cottage cheese, and soybeans. I saw a soymilk that's unsweetened (Yay) on the prettyimpressivestuff.com site. I need to do some shopping! I need to get some more chana dal too. Doing pretty good today with the protein (it's not even lunchtime yet :) ). Does all that dairy protein bother you? I think I might need to get some Lactaid to help - just feeling a little bloated, but that could be TOM too. :p
Well, work is calling, so back to the grind. Thank you, thank you, it's Friday (I thought it was Thursday!).

Real quick...heading out for lunch in a minute...
Tranquil Where about are your parents thinking of retiring? That would be a real bummer to be so far away from each other, especially if they raised you in Florida. My in-laws live in Kansas and it's a real bummer not to see each other more often. Too bad families can't all find a place that works for everyone and just stay put!
Jack-k I didn't see you posting about any tatoos either! But I bet if the two of us got together, we could show the other chicks a good time! Are you considering going to NC in October for the SB get-together????
CountryMom HAS IT WARMED UP????? You've got to be kidding! Next to Death Valley...we are right up there. It was 106 yesterday, and cooled down to what felt like 104 at night. HELP!!! Get me out of here. Can hardly wait til August (NOT!)
It's going to be a doozie of a summer.
Okay...gotta get!

Ya'll keep your fingers crossed for my youngest son tonite, it's the last game that decides if they finish UNDEFEATED or not!!! :)
OK getting my wide behind off this chair and getting ready for work now!! Toodles!!!

Hi everyone....thanks so much for the advice on late night hunger!
My left heel has been hurting since December, I went to a podiatrist and found I had Plantar Fasciatus(sp?) so I got a cortisone shot in the heel two days ago.....:(
I took it easy yesterday and today it is much better!
I have been working out through the pain but wow its great that it is gone!

Thanks for the advise on the SF pops! I really don't like artificial

All this talk about ketchup had me curious. I found some of the estee ketchup for 50 cents in a mark down buggy a while back but hadn't brought it out. Well, :) you know I had to do a taste test and a nutritional comparision. Taste are very close in flavor. I think the Estee has a more tomato flavor but over all I prefer the Parade (genric brand). The Estee is thicker than the genric.
Here is the comparision on nutrients:
Serving size is 1 tbsp for both.
Calories: 20 Estee 15 Parade
Total fat: 0 0
Sodium 190 190
Carbs: 5g 4g
Sugars 1g 4g
sugar
alcohol 3g
protien 0 0
Vitamin A not sig. 6%
I don't eat a lot of ketchup but it was fun to compare facts. I have some of that Estee Grape Jelly in there....I'm on a mission...LOL
Nancy...sorry I didn't pay more attention to where you lived. I guess a better question would be do you ever cool down?:)
Chris B...it is getting hot. We had a real early hot blast last month but we are closer to normal now. We are hurting for rain. If rained some yesterday but not even enough to start running off into the ditches or creeks. My pond looks like it's August or September outside.
Love,

Hey Guys,
Checking out early tonite. Company has a table for dinner at the gambling boat for the fund for the Arts (fancy-smancy) and know one can go and someone from our company has to be there, so gets who got stuck going. SUcker. OF well, free dinner and drings (but I'm not drinking, not drinking). Not going to the boat.
Have a great weekend everyone!:)
Nance, WTG on the drop in cholorestol. This WOE does more good than you realize.
Graciuos, Glad you DS is over his "accidents". You never know what triggers some things. Hope the weather holds out for the barn work tomorrow.
Country, I had the same exact lunch. How funny. I love jalapenos. How sad about the puppy.
Toni, A colonostopy? Yuk. I loved your little saying. It's right too.
Tree, Glad you are feeling better.
Nance, Probably a negative on the NC trip sinc we are going on the cruise in Nov. Maybe though.
Beth Good luck on the ballgame. You still win no matter right? Glad dog is better.
ChrisB, bread doesn't have to be sf, only 3 or less grams of sugar. 100% ww. If kids won't eat the ww pasta, get 100% duram semolina. it's white and I can't tell the difference.
Have a great weekend.

HiedieHo All!!!
Here and gone!!!! All too soon!!!!! It was a delight to meet Mary, her DH, BIL, & DS. We talked incessantly. Melf took pictures with her digital camera. So DEB will get to see my mug. It was skinny Melf and fat me!! I wish the visit could have been longer, they were here about 2 1/2 hours, but they wanted to get to Marianne before dark.
FRUIT: Were your ears ringing? We were talking about you! We'd both like to get together with you. Maybe Thunder could join in too. You have your surgery and Melf has vacation, so it will be a little while.
Melf is so delightful and looks great. At first her sister seemed a little shy, but warmed up quickly. It was jusy a neat time. She showed me a baby afghan she is working her, it has the alphabet in popcorn stitch. It will be very pretty finished. I truly hope we meet again!
TRANQUILL: Sorry dear, I didn't get back to Board until after they left, so could not give your message.
I spent some time last night rereading some Bios and catching up on new ones.
JACKK: You mention meds messed up your liver. Remember I said my husband had Methotrexate as a study case. While on that he was hospitalized for four months as a was to monitor study, and they did periodic liver biopsies as they said it could affect the liver negatively and be very serious.
I also wanted to catch up on pictures so went through the album.
MONET320: We could be sisters! I think I look a lot like you or vice versa!
COUNTRY: Liver and gizzards! I never knew anyoine but me that likes gizzards!
NANCE: Great to see than lower number on cholesterol, My went down after I started this woe too.
Well, didn't sleep too great last night. Think I will put my feet up for a while.
Take care all. sef

Proud to be a Senior Citizen
I'm the life of the party - even when it lasts until 8 p.m.
I'm very good at opening childproof caps with a hammer.
I'm usually interested in going home before I get to where I am going.
I'm awake many hours before my body allows me to get up.
I'm smiling all the time because I can't hear a word you're saying.
I'm very good at telling stories.....over and over and over.
I'm aware that other people's grandchildren are not as bright as mine.
I'm not grouchy, I just don't like traffic, waiting, crowds or politicians.
I'm sure everything I can't find is in a secure place.
I'm having trouble remembering simple words like............
I'm realizing that aging is not for sissies.
I'm a walking storeroom of facts; I've just lost the key to it.

DON'T ARGUE WITH CHILDREN
A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales.
The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small.
The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale.
Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.
The little girl said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah".
The teacher asked, "What if Jonah went to ****?"
The little girl replied, "Then you ask him".

How to bathe the cat
1 - Thoroughly clean toilet.
2. Lift both lids and add shampoo.
3. Find and soothe cat as you carry him to the bathroom.
4. In one swift move, place cat in toilet, close both lids and
stand on top,* so cat cannot escape.
5. The cat will self agitate and produce ample suds. (Ignore
ruckus from inside toilet, cat is enjoy- ing this).
6. Flush toilet 3 or 4 times. This provides power rinse, which is
quite effective.
7. Have someone open outside door, stand as far from toilet as
possible and quickly lift both lids.
8. Clean cat will rocket out of the toilet and outdoors, where he
will air dry.

Hi all, I have been reading and working on this note for a few days now, so, I hope it is not all out of date. Yesterday we had a great outing to Hendersonville where we went to this fun Mexican restaurant, tried some health food stores, a needlepoint shop and then did the grocery store. I think I overdid it a bit and I am resting today. The friend that visited recently is really good at needlepoint, so, we visited some needlepoint shops while she was here. I found this little kit called Stitch and Zip which is a little cosmetic bag that has already been assembled. It was a fun project for a beginner, like me. The price was quite reasonable as well. I can see that I will do more of this type thing since you can just keep it in your purse to work on a little at a time.
I want to thank all of you for your good wishes for my speedy recovery. I’m afraid it is going to take a little time but I seem better each day. Tuesday , I took my Z pak pill but it is suppose to keep on working for five more days. Maybe once the drugs get out of my system, I will not be so tired.
CountryMom: I think I would choose just to weigh in the mornings. Who needs the night time stress.
Jack-K: I am glad I didn’t know the Z-Pak might make me hungry. Maybe the Zrytec is overriding it’s effect. A breakfast suggestion: I know this may sound strange but try just try it. I put one tablespoon of peanut butter in with my oatmeal. (After it is cooked, of course) I use salt in my oatmeal but could use a sweetener like agave or SF syrup. Let me know. Sometimes I have a boiled egg with cream cheese and either SGWW toast or even oatmeal. A little smoked pork chop and some eggs or egg beater are good, also. Tree’s protein smoothie suggestion sounds really good.
Tranquil: I love Carraba’s. I usually have the Chicken stuffed with goat cheese. I believe it is a little high in fat but so good.
Gracious: You are so right about feeling run down…..actually, I feel like the truck stopped for awhile on my chest. HA!
BOB: I just read that you have been ill with, what sounds like the same things I have had. The doctor gave me a Z Pak as well as Zrytec. It has all helped but I am still trying to recover and it has been two weeks or so now. I truly know how you feel and I am sorry you have this awful stuff.
Welcome newbies. Your interesting questions always inspire me.
Hope you all enjoy the weekend.

It's hot here too, but not as bad as you westerners have it. It just feels so sticky.
I JUST BOUGHT SIZE 4 JEANS AT THE GAP AND THEY ARE NOT EVEN A BIT TIGHT!!! WHOO HOO! Maybe next month I can start swiping dd's size 2- LOL- I think I've hit the bone size limit.
Nance- My spider veins went away :D when I got near my target weight, and started to do so much exercise. Unfortunately, the skin and stretch marks didn't, so I have what looks like a sear-sucker birthday suit. Just lovely! Oh why didn't I do this when I was 30???
Chris- I don't eat bread, but when I did, I used the 100% rye or pumpernickel that looks like brown or black styrofoam with odd German names. Also, 100% stone ground whole wheat pitas ( Acme or Fresh Fields) and Lavash stone ground ww flatbread (Fresh Fields)- kinda like a thin, big tortilla, great for wrapping up whatever. I hear sourdough breads are legal, but if I have any, I eat the whole loaf. So- no bread. It's not the healthiest of starchy carbs, anyway. Oh yeah- pepperidge farm started making a legal 100% stone ground whole wheat.
No tatoos here either, but I do have an extensive scar collection. Does that count?
Monet- so glad you got an outfit! Don't envy you shopping with dd. I love mine dearly, but she makes me crazy with pickiness when we shop. Especially since she looks fantastic in everything she puts on, so I don't get it! As far as I can tell, she tries on 8 "different" things that look the same to me, then decides the ninth, which looks the same to me, is perfect and the others weren't. Another reason I hope she elopes when the time comes!
Gotta go start the billionth dinner of chicken breasts.

Just a quick note here. I really wish I had time to address everyone individually. Thanks so much for all your comments! I did skim the posts, and tried to be caught up with what is going on.
My daughter and I went to the mall again today and found shoes at the first place we looked. I had to hunt, but eventually found my wide brimmed white hat, a scarf that is almost the same color as my suit to tie onto it, a white shell to wear so I can open the jacket if I get hot, and a pair of white gloves. I decided to be hoity toity and wear gloves! It will give my less formal suit a more formal look. Had lunch with my son, who works at the mall, and then dropped my daughter off to get her dressed hemmed for the wedding.
I made cheese straws this morning, and made arrangements for relatives coming in to the airport. I still have a ton to do, but at least I will be dressed nicely for the wedding!
Have a great weekend everyone!

HiedieHo All!!!
Just hanging out!
YELLOW: I hope you feel better, you've had a long siege. A whole store for needlework. I'd be in hog heaven!!! Haven't doe needlepoint in ages.
MEL: Bet I can match your scars any day! With six operations and numerous scars from all sorts of dumb things. Even have a scar from the German Shepherd we had. I helped the country vet neuter him in the back of the van. Until the vet could knock him out, he wasn't a happy dog. You know how men are about the family jewels and vasectomies! I'm at the age where I have a crinkly birthday suit too!! Who needs tattoos? If I had gotten a cupid when I was younger he's have a limp arrow by now!
Did I mention that Melf brought me goodies fresh from their garden? Also a Louisiana fridge magnet and a LA key ring with banjo and guitars on it and a CD of her brothers Cajun music group "Jesse Lege' & the Southern Ramblers". Just cause I gave them lunch!!!!! And enjoyed their company!!
I have arachnaphobia. I can stand bugs, snakes, toads, frogs, etc. But a spider gives the willies!!!! Of course, everytime we use the pool we have to scoop out a couple and I am getting pretty good about it. This afternoon, I went out and turned on the vacuum and was going to skim (lovebugs are dying happy in our pool). As I was skimming, I do it in the water rather than stand on the edge, I saw a huge beetle on one of those foam spahetti things. No sweat, beetles are fine. As I grabbed the foam to hold it as i knocked the beetle off, this HUGE HUGE thing comes running at me! It was like the hand running across the floor in the Addams Family. I da-n near fainted. :dizzy: I was out of there like a shot, even fat people can move fast when they are scared sh-tless!! BY then the wind had blown the foam to the end of the pool. I was soooo brave, I walked around the back of the chairs we have out there. I mean, what if that sucker decided to hop off and hit the pavement?!? That was the end of the pool for today. I was actually sick to my stomach. The thing was still there an hour or so later when DS came home. He thought it was funny, but did go out like my knight in shining armor, put the skimmer on the 10' pole and knocked it into pool and scooped him away. You couldn't have PAID me to use the 10" pole!!! I know it's stupid but just can't help it!!! I'll take a cockroach anytime!!! Oh well, that's life!!!
Take care. sef :dizzy:

Just a quick note to let everyone know I stayed OP for my 3rd day. I figure if I make myself post at the end of each day whether I've been good or not, I'll have extra incentive to avoid any and all illegal foods.
Had some trouble in the late afternoon. I got caught out with the family longer than I had anticipated. We were picking out carpet and appliances for the new house and it took forever. Anyway, I started getting hungry and light-headed. I kept telling my husband I needed to stop at a convenience store for a small bag of peanuts, but he kept pushing to get everything done first. I almost went OP on the way home, but stuck it out and made it to some peanuts. I guess I should start carring a snack with me.
Tried Almond Chicken and Garlic Brown Rice with Onions (a SB recipe) for dinner tonight. Hmmmmm...Good.
Thanks for all the encouragement.

Well = I am getting ready to take the car in, friend will pick me up, and then we will wait to hear from Melf and Wendy and I will drive down to St Augustine....
Sef - thank you - I had a feeling you might not be on and see my note - but that it ok... Sounds like you had a wonderful time! Wish I could have had all that delicious food!!! :D
Well good news on the weight - I am now 254 - I lost all the water - I was up and down all night long for potty breaks. So I have gone from 272 on 4/1 = to 254 on June 1!!!! Not quite hit my goal = but now will start a new goal....what is so fantastic is TOM is only 3 days away and I am still very light! I might even have lost more!!! Crossing fingers, toes and arms and legs!!!
I have walked a lot and last night was so funny because the dog was pooping out before Gram and I - when I clocked the walk - we had finished 2.5 miles!!! and we could have kept going! So, I am going to carry a portable collapsable water bowl with me for Fluff to drink from so she does not slow us down like last night....
Well better iron my linen shirt so it can wrinkle!

THE T-BALL CARDINALS REMAIN UNDEFEATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My son's final season game was last night, against a team we were playing for the second time due to a scheduling fluke. They spent the whole season talking about how we got all the good calls (COMPLETELY untrue, we gave them several calls and had NONE in our favor!) and that it was just a fluke that we beat them, so they were all talking big about the rematch.
We beat em 23-18. Nuff Said!
The coach had little Tshirts made for all the kids that says 2002 TBall Champions, and has all their names on it, they're adorable and he was soooooo sweet to do that! We're FIRED UP and ready to take the tournament!!!!
Oldest DS plays his first tournament game today. I'm supposed to be at work 15 minutes after it's scheduled to end (I'm working 2nd shift today to fill in for someone who is off) but the girl working 1st shift agreed to just stay until I can get there after the game :) I'm soooooo glad!! It's a double elimination tourney, so they play till they lose twice. We're hoping they play more than 2 games, but it's not likely :s:
Haven't been near a scale, but I'm mid cycle and I feel all puffy... not sure if I've hit my June 1st goal or not... but as soon as I can spare a minute and my MIL is home, I'm gonna go see :) If anything, I'm probably a pound or two over from fluid... my fingers have dents in them where my rings sit today, and usually they are flipping all around my fingers because they're too big. I guess I'm gonna go hit the H2O bottle to see if I can't help some of it get OFF ME!! :)
DEB - Yeah... what BOB said!! All those stickys are driving me :dizzy: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!
Anyway, I'm off to make something of my Saturday morning since I don't get the whole day off this week :( Laundry here I come ;)
Have a WONDERFUL Saturday Y'all!!!

Good Morning!
Haven't had my coffee yet, so watch out for those typo's! Sister and brother are coming down from Orange County. Mom and I are taking off shortly and are going to meet them up in a small town in the mountains and away from the heat! Probably have lunch, window shop at the cute stores they have, wished we had their kind of climate, then come back to the pit to melt. Dan the Man is gone this weekend which always feels weird. Stayed up til 11:30pm last night, am usually in bed at 9:00-10:00pm. I was kind of in a muddle yesterday and couldn't seem to snap out of it, but feel better today.
Still at 236...I feel so bloated, but no reason to be...going to work on getting down the water. I want back to my 232.5 I was at dang nabit! I worked hard to get there and was only inches away from getting into the 220's.....
Well, I'm going to hop in the shower and then fluff-n-fold myself.
Have a great day everyone if I don't post later!

Good afternoon everyone.... Finally getting to settle down and read the posts. My husband works all night on the week-end and when he gets home in the morning about 8 it takes him forever to wind down. He's finally tucked in all nice and quiet for his day of sleep... So that means I try to keep things pretty quiet in the house. I wish I would have gotten my treadmill time in before he went to sleep but will have to wait now till this evening. Can't believe I'm just going along OP. This is such a great feeling, when you're doing it right and can hang on to and be strong. They ought to bottle that up.... I sure hope this continues for a great while....Hope everyone is having a really nice week-end. We can hear the canoers on the river from our place. They'll be laughing and screaming as they make there way down river. And theres lots of them on the river this Sat.
Music Teach- Sounds like its time to start your summer. Glad you made through the year... I'm sure you'll get back OP after you get a bit of a rest....
Nancemeister- Which mountain town are you going to. Guess I told you we used to have a cabin at Lake Gregory. My DH spent allot of time in Big Bear.. I would love to go back and see places like that. I'm hopeing maybe this fall.. Yep fight for your rights, you deserve 232.5!!! Your body is a traitor... Its got to all fall back into place soon. Just don't get discourage gal.. You may be surprised this Wed.....
Beth- Congrads for you son.....Yep hit that water hard!!!! That bloat will come off by WIW.....
Tranquil- I'm so excited for you to see Melf and Wendy. I hope you have a great time... Wow your weight is great. You make me really feel the need to walk! You've done so well.... Keep up the good work. You're a true inspiration..
Homeschooling Mom- Congraduations on staying OP for 3 days... Way to go... Maybe just keep a little bag of peanuts in your purse or an apple when you go. I always try to remember to take a bottle of water with me... Oh where is the the Almond Chicken recipe at and the Garlic brown rice that sounds so good...
Sef- I'll bet your lunch was great and what a nice thing to get prizes to... You would hate it here in Missouri this is bug world here. My SIL won't even go outside here. Love your jokes, especially how to bathe a cat!
Bob I wondered myself, it takes me forever to find the support board...
Monet- You did great at the mall. I'll bet you're going to look wonderful, your outfit sounds beautiful. yum, I've never made cheese straws before...
Meliris- A size 4. Only in my dreams.... Oh my gosh I would run naked through our little town if I ever get to be that size. Well maybe just kidding.... You are tiny woman.... I have the scars to. From the back of my ear to my foot....
Yellowrose- Hope you get feeling stronger and stronger. Be careful about over doing it....
Jack-K- Hope you have a good week-end
Guess I'll stop now and go hunt for that Almond Chicken recipe.... By for now...

Just call me quickie this weekend!
Wanted to get on yesterday to post-wasn't able, Michael was on from the minute he got home from school til I went to bed. Was out most of the day today, came home, took a much-needed nap and right now, headed out the door to meet ELI for dinner with Minnie & Morris and their daughter and SIL-so have to run. Not sure if I will have time to post when I get home, doubt it though. Tomorrow the COFFEE MAN is off, so I'll be running around with him. If I don't post tonight, will try to do so tomorrow. If you don't see a post from me by tomorrow evening, watch out-there's going to be a MEGA POST come Monday! I can see it now, I'll be on here for hours and hours and hours....
Hope all is well with everyone-miss not being able to get on here and post, hate it more that I haven't been able to read everyone's goings on of the last couple days.
BTW, eating has been wonderful, water intake sucks, haven't been able to exercise due to the really bad weather we've been having, but hey, one out of 3 ain't so bad!;)

Chisb1022 - I posted a quick recipe for a cream cheese pudding earlier.
Use 2 cups FF milk, 8oz box FF cream cheese, whatever flavor SF FF Jello pudding you want, plus 1 oz of Torani syrup flavoring.
My latest concoction was a Caramel syrup, White Chocolate Cream Cheese. MMMMM!
It's easier if you mix the cream cheese with 1/2 cup milk 1st, add pudding mix, and then the rest of the milk.

Good news! Doing the Fitday.com, and increasing my protein, (and cutting out that blasted Lite Yoplait!) - I dropped to 127! Three whole pounds! I've been fluctuating from 129-131 for months! Yay! Now I have a little more incentive, it was dragging for a while.
Well, I better go. Have a good weekend everyone!

Yes! Today was my 4th day OP. :smug:
My lack of energy is starting to worry me, though. :( Last night I slept 11 hours and then lazed around on the couch watching TV until 5pm. My husband asked me if I was coming down with something.
I want everyone here to know that they are an inspiration to me. I was seriously tempted to cheat. I had the munchies and knew that if I started eating I wouldn't stop until I'd binged on every illegal food I could get my hands on. Then I plopped my butt in front of this computer and read through several of the weekly support boards. All of your posts gave me the umph to stay OP. Thanks, guys.
That's it for now. It's 1:30 in the morning and I'm heading for bed.

Congratulations on the size 4!! I can feel your excitement!! I am finally fitting back into my 14's. :jig:
I will be so excited if I can get back in my 10's or even my 8's.
I have a box full of each size in the basement.
I am the opposite of you, I need to be able to eat a piece of bread, I'm not bread crazy and can have one piece. I used to do the zone and on that you can't have bread, I acutally got to a size 4 for a few months. Then shortly after that I got pregnant and it all went KABLAM!! Nick is 3 now and I feel like I am ready to really make this work. I felt good on the zone, BUT I couldnt keep up with the protien every meal and the carbs are extremely limited on that woe. SB feels like a wonderful balance!

Hang in there girl! Have you checked this web site?
Well this is our first day! I am a teacher and the students brought in wonderful food this year... I gained 20 pounds in addition to what I needed to lose. So my goal for the summer is working on my weight! Looking forward to having you all as support!

Hi All:
Well just wanted to check in and tell you all that yesterday at 1:00 I met Melf and her DH and her DSis and DBIL at Wendy's in St. Augustine - I drove there with my friend, Wendy, and we all ate salads and chatted for a good hour or so.... they are very sweet and interesting people - and a joy to have met them - and hope to meet them again!!!! Melf is defeinitely a beautiful TINY person!!!! She is an inspiration - she is also a very dear and giving person :) I have not had the picture downloaded from the camera as of yet - but will today and will post it....
Welcome Gumbo - this is a great group for friendly support and great woe!
Chris and Mel - Congrats on your getting into smaller sizes!
HomeSchool - I have found the more I walk now, the more energy - along with taking vitamins - and even losing 1/2 pound just makes me so motivated. I am tired of feeling poorly and being unable to buy regular size clothes in a department store - so that motivates me as well! Find a goal, something positive - just think positive.... you can do it!!!!
Tree- Way to GO!!!!!!!!!! That is fantastic!!!!
Deb - {{Hugs}} back!!!
Sef - Melf told us about her wonderful visit at your place! Also, if the spiders are anything like they are here in Florida, I don't blame you one bit - I am a bug a phobe myself - and a bit neurotic about it - my friend's husband is my exterminator and he laughs at me because I called because I saw "a" bug.
Toni - Thank you - you are very sweet - and good for you being op and enjoying it! :D
Well I have to get going now - chores!!!!

Good late morning everyone. Here it is Sunday and I've got to start to move. I'm doing great on the eating but I need to exercise. I did a tiny bit of walking last night but I'm a real beginner on doing anything that happens to have the label "good for you" on it.. So this evening I'll walk if it kills me....... LOL... Hope everyone is having a great week-end, we're still very humid and up in the 80's. Thats fine with me the house is nice and cool and the nights are fine...
Tranquil- Your lunch sounds so fun. And what a joy to meet other members of this board. You sure said it about the walking. I felt so much better before I got out of the routine of walking..
Gumbo- Welcome!!! You'll love it here and its great for support and just good to be here.... Congradulations on starting, thats always the biggest step I think, making the decision to lose weight, get healthier, feel good !!!
Chris- Looks like you're going the right direction. This is a great WOE and you can make it your choice to stay on it...
Homeschooling Mama- Are you doing any form of exercise? I feel thats my problem with lack of enery..
Tree- Your recipe sounds great but what is Torani syrup?
Debilli- Have a great time with your week-end, it all sounds like fun...
Sef- Don't blame you on the spiders, I'm not crazy about them either. And my grandsons have an absolute fit..
Hope I caught everyone... Have a great day. See ya tomorrow....

Hi everyone,
Just a quick note to say I have been all over the place AGAIN with my eating. Is anyone a psychologist? As soon as I start doing well and noticing a difference - in comes the self-sabotage! A couple of months ago I had been pretty dedicated to the Body for Life fitness regime, then one morning in the mirror I noticed a real change - I was really starting to tone up in my legs and abs. Well - bam - that was the end of that. I think I am afraid of success. Anyway. I just went through your posts to re-motivate myself. Thank you all for posting all your successes and missteps - it helps us newbies!
I think I will try Tranquil's approach of posting at the end of each day as an extra incentive to stay On-Plan!
Hope you are all having a good weekend!

HiedieHo All!! After church I went to mall, to see what I could get. I have a couple of gift certificates that need using.
I was disappointed that size wasn't smaller than it was. then I stopped and thought.....what I bought was not muumuu style, a little more shape to them so I probably am taking a smaller size.. Muumuus are bought to hide faults. Priobably if I had the nerve to wear more stylish clothes then I would definitely taken a bigger size. Is this making sense to anyone.
Jbug: Bingo!!! You hit my nail on the head. I read your post and stopped to think. When I look back I can see over the years how I have done that very thing. I am not worth anything so why should I look good? At Christmas such a fuss was made over how I had lost 60# and they gave me gift certificates to show me they wanted me to look good. It has been a struggle ever since. Is it a facade to hide behind? If you're heavy no one expects much out you, what if you can't measure up to what they expect now. If you can lose 60, why not 120? Does anyone have a couch for the Board?
TRANQUILL: We'll start a Melf fan club!!
GUMBO: Welcome, you have come to the right place. Sort of a homecoming where the door is always open. If you fall someone will catch you!
Oh, at the mall I also got two pairs of sandals.
Take care all. sef

Hey Everyone!
I'm back from the camp. We had a nice relaxing weekend - it is always nice to get away. I didn't do too good on my eating - what a surprise! So, I'm sure that I'm up a few. But, back on track tomorrow. I guess I just know that I won't be eating much after my surgery on Tuesday so I lived it up this weekend! HAHA! No excuse - I know! Oh well! Here goes my attempt to catch up with everyone!
SEF: I figured that you two would talk about all of us getting together! My ears were kinda ringing a little!! HAHA! I do remember that we were supposed to meet on the 18th - but I hadn't checked the board in so long that I missed it!! I suck!! Oh well - we will definitely need to set another date. We live toooooo close to stay "strangers!" By the way, I had a Methotrexate shot to terminate one of my tubal pregnancies - do you think I need to have anything checked out because of that one shot? Or - does it have to be more than that? Love the cat washing funny!!! Hilarious!! I've got quite a visual of you running out of that pool! I'm not a big bug fan myself but none of them scare me out of my socks!! How wonderful of your hubby to come to you rescue!!
ZANNE: Looks like we are in the same boat as far as posting! I'll be back in full force next week! Great on the exercising - I need to start back myself!
MELF: Sounds like you are making the rounds girlfriend!! Hope you have a wonderful trip!!
NANCE: I hate those mystery pounds - probably 2 of them are from the indulgences but the other 2 - those are a mystery. Way to go on the cholesterol. I want to get mine checked. I think that I'll get it done the next time I go to my family doctor. God knows - I'll probably be there soon - I'm sure something else will go wrong with this fricken body!
JACK-K: The cruise sounds great! Can I come? We want to go on one too. But, I want to go with a bunch of friends. I like to have lots of entertainment around me when I'm gone for that long! Don't know about that Wildcat blue!! You know what - we went to the LSU/KY game this past season. Lexington is so beautiful!! We stayed at the Radisson across from Rump Arena- we had the best time and the people were SO FRIENDLY! I've been places were the other fans were such jerks - which I know - LSU has their share of!!! I've witnessed that and then apologized to the other fans for the moron fans that we have here at LSU!! HAHA! If we ever head that way again - we'll have to get together!
CHRISB: I have that same exact thing with my feet! Isn't it painful! When I was diagnosed, my doctor told me that one thing to make things better was to lose some weight. Well, to lose weight I need to exercise right - which involves using my feet - unless of course - I swim. Needless to say, I don't plan on putting on my suit and hitting the Y in front of other people with this body!! So, I suck it up, walk, endure the pain and hopefully one day things will get better. The worst time for me is during the night when I have to pee. Sometimes I want to crawl to the bathroom instead of walk because the pain is so bad! One thing that has helped me tremendously is - I don't walk around barefoot anymore. I have some of those reebok flip flop/soccer shoes whatever they are - the soccer players wear them a lot. They are a tremendous help. I keep them by my bed and whenever I get up - I put them right on. Also - when I was initially diagnosed I had some orthotics (sp?) made for my shoes. They are expensive but they help! So, keep on trucking - you will start to feel better!
MEL: A size 4?!?!? I think that might actually fit my WRIST!!! Congrats to you! I'm so jealous!! I'll never be that size - if I reach that point - you can admit me to an eating disorder clinic!! I'm too tall to be a size 4!
GUMBO: Girl - where do you teach? I'm a teacher too! The difference here is - I don't know that I would want to eat anything that came from some of our students' houses? Isn't that horrible of me to say!? God - I'm gonna go straight to **** for that! HAHA! Our students' last day was Friday and we have a records day tomorrow then I'm done! AMEN! Can't wait to enjoy the summer!
JBUG: Get right back on plan my friend. We are human and we all stumble some - especially me - but, just jump right back full force and you will be ok. I'm still successful even though I stumble frequently - so just hang in there! We are here for you! Just remember - you are human and you will make mistakes - don't beat yourself up! Go Bug, Go Bug, Go Bug! You can do it!!
Ok my friends - I'll go for now! I'll try to check back in tomorrow before my surgery on Tuesday. I do have my last day of school tomorrow - but it won't be bad cause the kids aren't there!!! WOOHOO!!! They were done on Friday!! YEAAAHHHH!!! So, I don't consider tomorrow WORK! Ok - see y'all tomorrow evening!!
Love y'all

By the way.....since I missed Friday Funnies....here's my late contribution! I hope this doesn't offend anyone but I'm sure all women of the world will enjoy - SORRY DARAMUS!
A study in Wisconsin showed that the kind of
male face a woman finds
attractive can differ - depending on where a
woman is in her menstrual cycle.
For instance: If she is ovulating, she is
attracted to men with rugged and
masculine features; and if she is menstruating,
she is more prone to be
attracted to a man with scissors shoved in his
temple and a bat jammed up his
***.
I loved that one!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!
bye again!

HiedieHo All!!
FRUIT: You cracked me up!!!! Me getting out of the pool was not a pretty sight!! I assure you! My rescuer was my DS, I have been a widow since 10/90. You couldn't be expected to know!
One shot of metho is not going to cause long term effects. My husband was getting regular doses of pills each week. At that time, almost 40yrs ago (OMG I'm old!) it was considered quite dangerous. In the hospital the pharmacist couldn't dispense it to him. It was given only to a doctor who in turn watched DH take it. Now it is a rather common drug I think. Look at the different ways it is used,,,,,,cancer chemo, arthritis, pregnacy termination, psoraisis. Amazing the diverse ways a medication can be used.
Please keep my DS in your prayers. He is having surgery to remove a fatty tumor from the back of his neck. Usually same day surgery, but it is x-rays showed it more involved than originally thought so he will be in overnight at least. It used to be considered cosmetic by the insurance companies, but now it has grown so much and bothers him when he turns his head, so it's medical necessity.
JBUG: Our new mantra........I am worth it!!!
Take care. sef
