eww... chips... lol. I can't say anything, I had a few with my lunch today at subway then I gave the rest to a friend of mine to finish off so I wouldn't be tempted by those little devils.
OMG! Did you guys know that it is actually more expensive now just to get a six inch sub at Subway? I had just finished working out before lunch, and had to get to campus, and was like, an oven roasted chicken breast on wheat sounds YUM. so i get there, and order it with no cheese, and a ton of veggies. (no mayo either!) and go to pay the lady, and i just wanted the sub, since I had water to drink already. In the end I had to get the chips and another bottle of water... even the healthy stuff there, the yogurt and apple slices were either expired or looked rotten. it was sad. needless to say, im making my lunches from now on.
that's nuts that the subs are cheaper with chips/drink than they are without. thankfully there's no lack of people in my office who will take a bag of chips off my hands.
My DH brought home a bag last week because I mentioned them the day before (he's not a sabatour, super supportive) and so I measured one bowl and dumped the bag into the garbage immediately so I wouldn't eat the rest.
Futuresurfer I totally feel you on that....I used to think that if I kicked a** in the gym I was entitled to a treat. But that is not the case, if I kick a** that WAS my treat and I didn't burn 400 cals to put back on half. So now instead of being "entitled" to the ice cream, chips or cookies I have them everyone once in a while when I want them but not everytime I work out. Good Job on not eating the chips!!!
Thanks ladies... chips are a DAILY battle for me. They are always in my house because my roommate buys them. Actually *I* end up buying them *FOR HER* because I eat them so often!!! They are multigrain tostitos. Always multigrain tostitos. They are sooooooo good.
I resisted the call last night! And I will tonight too!
I hear you guys! Last weekend, I'm ashamed to say, I went to the gym and used that as an excuse to pig out. I was under peer pressure influence and usually when my friends and I have pizza night I plan my calories in advance for the day so I can have 2 slices and be comfortable, and I always ask my friends not to offer me more than 2. But I waited too long before eating, I was tired from working out, and I gave in and had... gulp... four. Usually I'm pretty good about stopping, but... something about the hour spent at the gym that day and the time of night...
Whatever it's in the past! And next time we have movie night I'm going to remind myself just how bad I felt when I overate. And I will stop when I'm satisfied! Not just eat because it tastes so good and it feels like a reward.
I want chips every now and then, especially since my mom is a chip addict and keeps our house constantly stocked with Lays and Ruffles (dip too, ugh). But I try to remind myself that for the calories, they always make me feel more hungry and if I'm going to budget for a treat, I want something that will leave me a little more satisfied.
I also had to learn to pack lunch. I work nights in a hospital and the cafeteria is well stocked with fried delights, but not much else. Believe me at 2:00 am nothing sounds better than burgers and fries, but I have felt sooooo much better eating my smartones or leancuisine and fruit then that junk. Plus not to mention a ton cheaper. Also when you check out in the cafe there is a shelf stocked with bags and bags of candy, nuts, chocolate dipped everything and while you are standing in line waiting to check out they seduce you into buying them.
