South Beach Diet - Moving into Spring Monday

View Full Version : Moving into Spring Monday

03-02-2009, 07:01 AM
:snow4: :shocksn: Good morning on this very snowy Monday morning!

We had several inches overnight and a lot more is due today. Schools are closed and I'm anticipating a day at home, too. I've had my shower, but I'm going to stay in my jammies as long as I can. :) I hope this is the last of the snow for this year, but as long as I don't have to be out driving in it I can enjoy it.

03-02-2009, 07:52 AM
Good morning Cottage. Definite snow day here too, though lots of our schools were already closed for the day. It is pretty, that big lazy snow fall that just keeps piling up. I'm with you on hoping this is the last of it though. We've had enough already.

I'm taking the day off instead of working at home. The days away from the computer have been good for me and one more can only help. Besides I have plenty of leftover weekend chores ;)

03-02-2009, 08:10 AM
Good morning on this snowy day. It is weird to look at and see a wall of white out my window, This stuff is coming down in sheets. No school here either. . .although I may take the boys out to play for a while.

I had an off weekend, a lot of stuff going on, very stressful but I plan on jumping back on the bandwagon this morning. (Today would have been my last day on P1 but I am going to do it for a few days more).

I hope everyone has a wonderful day and I will try to pop in later.

03-02-2009, 08:16 AM
Just checked back in my garden logs, Chickies, and this month should be the last of the snow. Isn't that encouraging? My friend Claire saw a robin yesterday - his red breast was purple from the cold though.

I'm off to the quilting group meeting this morning. They take their lunches and meet for the whole day but I never stay more than the morning. I guess they think I'm anti-social but I just cannot handle the constant gossip - especially when I don't know the people who are the subject! I use the dogs as an excuse to leave before noon.

My freezer stash is running low - poor planning as this is a busy week. I hope to throw some pea soup into the crockpot before I take off this morning so won't linger.

Stay safe and warm.

03-02-2009, 08:25 AM
Snow is nice when you're on the inside looking out. ;)

Cyndi, go ahead and take a day off! You've earned it!

mythreesons, enjoy your Snow Day, too!

Ruth, enjoy your Quilting Bee this morning. I was just contemplating what would be a good comfort food for supper tonight, and you've given me my answer. Pea soup sounds perfect for a day like today. :)

03-02-2009, 08:26 AM
Good morning, I hope I'm not butting in. I spent the weekend on my snowmobile and at our ice shack. Beautiful sunshine!

No snow coming down here, just clear, blue skies. Can you believe clocks go back this weekend?? Where has the time gone?

Enjoy the week!

03-02-2009, 08:31 AM
Hi, Steen. Of course you are not butting in! The Daily is for anyone who wants to pop in. It sounds like you have a good weekend. If we are going to have this darned cold, let's have sunshine too. Where are you in Northern Ontario?

03-02-2009, 08:46 AM
Hi Ruth, I am 25 minutes north-west of Parry Sound. It's cold outside, but nice and sunny!

03-02-2009, 09:11 AM
How did Cottage get snow, and I didn't? Not that I'm disappointed, I'm ready for spring!! I enjoy my running, but the treadmill....YUCK! I'm looking forward to warm weather so I can go even after the kids go to bed.

The sellers of our house REALLY want to move the date up (the sheriff's sale was supposed to be the 12th, she must have deadlines for other debts or something), so we may move it til next Monday or Wednesday. WOW!! I can't believe it!! (oh, and the new house has a rec room, so the treadmill isn't 10 feet from the kids' rooms!!) I haven't even begun to pack, but it's only a mile away...I'll probably throw stuff in a box, take it over, and do it again.

Today is work and errands....and maybe a run (inside, darned it!). And I need to be better about my snacking at night!!

Take care, chicks!

03-02-2009, 09:23 AM
How did Cottage get snow, and I didn't?

Darlin', I'll gladly send it to you! :D

03-02-2009, 09:27 AM
If we are making up a care package I'd be happy to contribute ;)

little chick
03-02-2009, 09:49 AM
Good Morning Chicks, we are having freezing rain, I will glady send that along with the snow.... There is no school here either but it is March break for the kiddos anyway. Well hope you all have a great day. A quickie for me as the break is a busy time for me. I will try to pop back in later for personals. Have a great one.

03-02-2009, 09:51 AM
Good morning, everyone. I have my laptop at home still, so I'm just laying in bed as I type. It's really a nice way to start the morning, but I have to get out of bed for coffee.

Cottage: I'm glad you have a snow day in the works. 3 day weekends every once in a while are nice, even if you don't leave the house. Enjoy your unexpected day off!

Cyndi: I was glad to read that you and Julie had a nice anniversary weekend! Enjoy your computer-free day. I can't wait to hear about everything you get accomplished today!

mythreesons: Enjoy your snow day with the boys! I'm proud of you for making the commitment to stick to P1 for a few more days. You'll do great!

Ruth: Enjoy your morning of quilting and meaningless gossip! My freezer is running low as well...anything you could pass on would be great! ;) Have a wonderful day!

Steen: Hello and welcome to the chat! Snowmobiling sounds a little too cold for me! I'll take my mild West Texas weather any day!

Twynn: How exciting that you may get to move into the new house sooner! I hope everything goes well with all of that!

ETA: Hi, LC! I hope you have a nice, not-too-busy day!

Me: I'm still being lazy. No coffee yet. I'm off today for Texas' Independence Day, but DH has to work. It works out great, though, because I'll be able to do the cleaning, bills and menu planning while he's gone. I really prefer cleaning with an empty house and today is the perfect opportunity.

Well, now I'm finally off to get that coffee. Geez, it appears to me that I may be becoming dependent on it.

03-02-2009, 10:07 AM
Cottage, that sounds so homey! We have some flurries here, but it's almost too cold to snow, I think! :brr: My car thermometer said 16*, but with the wind blowing so fiercely, I think it's much, much colder. Hope you can wear your cozies (my friend Claire taught me that word!) all day!

Ruth, DH and I went through our freezer and wrote down all the stuff in there--we have two pages worth! We planned the meals for the week to use up a lot of it. I'm not in love with the planned meals, but I did love cutting our grocery bill in half for the week! :faint: :yay: Hope the pea soup is delish! I don't think you're anti-social (FAR from it, chica! ), and I think it's a wonderful thing when just being at home is preferable to anything else. Means you've made home a lovely place.

:welcome3:, Steen! Of course you're not butting in! Nor is anyone else who wants to join in--all are welcome (hear that, lurkers? ;) ) here. Sounds like you had a really active weekend! Isn't it odd that you Canucks aren't getting snow but we're getting it in Jersey? :dizzy: I just heard about the clocks...that's such good news!!!!

Kim Star, don't get any funny ideas about plugging in the coffee pot next to the bed. I'm having horrible images of you hurting your foot a la Michael on the Office. :fr:

 to everyone else...Happy belated anniversary to you and DP, Cyndi! Hope it was a wonderful one! Congrats on getting into the house sooner, Twynn! Must be SO exciting!

Nothing exciting to share, gym, then home. I made a dent in some of the cleaning this weekend, which makes me happy. I'll probably do some more tonight...a little vacuuming would be great. Then off to bed! I just have to remember to drop by the dry-cleaners after work to get our comforter. We've been sleeping under a pile of odd-shaped blankets for a week and it's getting a little old. ;)

Have a great day!

03-02-2009, 10:13 AM
Tons of snow here, too. It's beautiful.

Good day to clean my house with music playing loudly. Husband is away on business so I have the place to myself for an entire week!

I may head out to the gym later if it's open.

03-02-2009, 10:27 AM
Good snowy morning chicks. We got a few inches, and it's still coming down, but Baltimore and Washington got hit much harder than us for a change. Kids are home and DH attempted the drive but the highway wasn't clear yet and the folks on the ship said it was much worse down there (Baltimore), so he's back home for the day too. Everyone gets a snow day but me. :( When you telecommute, snow is not an acceptable excuse!
I'd hoped to have the house to myself and set up on my new living room easy chair to work with the laptop. Well, there's always tomorrow. by the way they forgot to give us the back legs to the couch, so it's kind of slanty right now, I sure hope they can find them at the warehouse!
I've got a crockpot of Cyndi's refried beans and I'm using Mayocoba beans for the first time. I love my beans and it's exciting to find a new (to me) kind to try. Other than that I have no idea what's for dinner, so I'd better get on that.

03-02-2009, 11:03 AM
good monday morning chickies.... had a good weekend here... woke up this morning to a 3 lb weight loss for the week! so that made my day...

schmoodle-diva-cottage-littel chick-steen-cyndi-my3sons..... snow?? wow sorry bout that lol... i love that everyone makes fun of canada, saying we get too much snow... well all i see is grass at the moment lol just messing with ya'll...

twynne-- moving is fun! you get to get rid of alot of junk. lol... we bought the house across the street from the townhouses where i lived for 23 yrs, and moved in last may 24th... moving across the street was a site i tell ya... we had the kids all lined up carrying stuff... all the neighbourbours were watchin.. we had a yard sale 2 weeks b4 so it got rid of alot, i think i made a few hundred bucks lol

ruth--im a crafty gal.. always wanted to try quilting. maybe someday i'll do it.. once the kids are a little more grown up lol

well today is "dedication to laundry day" i havent been doing it alot lately. its samantha's chore to do one laod a day... and for the past week ive been letting her do just that... but being 17 she had "forgotten" a few days... cuz i have about 7loads down there ugh.. so the next 2 ... maybe 3 days is dedicated to gettin it under control.. wish me luck lol

Good morning chicks, seems like I haven't been here in forever! We have been so busy painting our LR and shopping for a new sofa and recliner and just life in general that it seems many things have slipped lately!

Add to that DS is home for spring break and things are just a little crazy right now!

We did take small break and stopped at the Casino on our way back from picking DS up. Actually walked out $600 ahead, not bad for a last minute decision to go!

Hope everyone is doing well, stay safe if you are getting that snow!

03-02-2009, 11:15 AM
Hiya Chix :broc:

Ooo it's a busy board today...well seein all you chix are off with the snow. As I'm only on my afternoon tea break I'm limited to personals but all you chix in the snow be careful and stay warm! My mom always made bean soup with the left over ham bone from Christmas. She would freeze it special for snow days and would whip it out for bean soup. I miss those days...sigh

Ah's buzzin here and I better get off my duff before the customers start climbing over the counter....take care! TTFN, dollies! ;) xo

03-02-2009, 11:28 AM
Cottage and Cyndi- I hope you enjoy the your beautiful snowy day! I wish, just like once a year I could experience the stuff! since moving just an hour west of where we used to live we see probably 10x less snow! and I can't believe I am saying this but... I miss it!!! lol

M3S- good for you for jumping right back on the wagon! Stay warm today!

Ruth- enjoy your quilting meeting! I am sure you made a lot of people happy by checking out your logs!!!

Steen- nice to meet ya! I agree, the time couldn't possibly go by faster these days!!!

Twynn- I am looking forward to being able to exercise outside as well, but I guess I'll just have to drag my butt to the gym today...

Kim- do you need a personal servant? lol... maybe you could just plug the coffee pot next to your bed! lmao...but then you'd still have to get up to go to the bathroom... hmmmm, maybe just the laptop in bed will do ;) lol

Laurie- hope you have a good day! and don't forget that comforter!

Diva- you look familiar, I am sure I have seen you on here before so... welcome back?! Enjoy the alone time!

Schmoodle- I have never heard of those beans- let us know how they turn out!

Stacy- I always seem to let my laundry get backed up!!! Good luck on catching it up!

Pacer- been a while! Glad ot hear all is good!

elusive:wave: dont work too hard today!

Me- Well, not a whole lot going on today here... we were supposed to have our tile delivered today but looks like it will be at least another week before we can get it... which is fine since we won't be able to lay it until later in the month with our chicago/milwaukee trip coming up I don't really want to leave the house a mess all that time! BTW, I am hoping to see some snow while we are up there!!!Im not telling dh that though :P So the agenda today is a couple loads of laundry, gym, lowes for a grow light and possibly foyer light, make some black bean and tomato salad, ummmm... I think thats about it! I can't believe my lists of to-do are so short lately! I guess I shouldn't complain!!!:carrot: Have a great day everyone!

03-02-2009, 11:37 AM
DH is sorry he stayed home I think LOL. I showed him where I noticed when I was cleaning yesterday that the sink bowl in the bathroom is cracked, so we'll need a new sink. Then I suggested that while the sink is out, we replace the floor which is gross. And I need to paint, so this is a good time - ya know, when the sink is out of the way. Plus there is a baseboard radiator in there that is rusting, so we may as well replace that while we're at it, right? Just trying to be efficient...

03-02-2009, 11:44 AM
LOL... schmoodle- you sound like me! one thing always runs into the next- it just makes sense, right?!?!?!

03-02-2009, 12:25 PM
We love our new dog with one exception. He is definitely not housebroken! I had quite a mess to clean up this morning but at least the house is tiled. I'm planning to get him a crate today so he can stay in that overnight until he is trained and other than that I guess he'll have to be in the backyard if we aren't home.

We weren't told to keep him quiet but he naturally seems to be a calm dog. I have read up on heartworm treatment now and I'm going to make sure we don't give him too much exercise until our vet says it is okay.

03-02-2009, 12:28 PM
Snow day for me too. It's so windy outside that it's hard to tell how much. There is a clear space right by my car :carrot: and a high drift in the middle of the driveway. :( Why can't the wind just blow the entire drive clear??? :p

Not thrilled that the plow guy who does the farm across the street pushed their snow directly across the street blocking half of my driveway with a huge mound. What an idiot...he also blocked the cluster of mailboxes for the five houses which means definitely no mail for me today. :tantrum:

Well, thanks for letting me vent. :D I'm now trying to convince myself what wonderful exercise getting rid of the snow from a 50' driveway (and that mound) will be. NOT! LOL Have a great day everyone and stay safe to those who venture out on snowy roads.

p.s. Those of you who have sun & warmth, please send some our way!

03-02-2009, 01:09 PM
Hi there! I'm back!! My life is back on track, finally! DH is keeping his job!! :cp: I am still not working, but enjoying my time as SAHM for now. My fog has lifted and I have returned to a happy place. I have been spending a lot of time working out. I even started running outside on the days it isn't terribly cold. My eating hasn't been exactly OP, but with the working out, I managed to hold firm on the weight and lose a few inches. I'll take that! Time to jump back in feet first. I am Day 1 Phase 1 today.

We finally got a new computer, so my shiny new laptop will help me return to 3FC more easily. I realized how much I need this site to stay on track!

Geez, it appears to me that I may be becoming dependent on it (coffee).
Kim - I gave up coffee for Lent. My first few days I had the WORST headache! I was hooked! The withdrawl was horrible!! I have switched to tea, which is nice, but doesn't satisfy the coffee cravings.

Glad to be back in action! I have missed you all!

03-02-2009, 01:12 PM
jen - good to see you back and to hear that dh is keeping his job! wtg on the inches and pounds!!

03-02-2009, 01:53 PM
this is a general letter cuz i cant remember who said what lol... we crate trained Maggie... at first i was not for it, but now, its a blessing. she knows thats where shes to go... we say 'go to bed Maggie" and she goes! lol.. its comical. we have problems with the snow plow guys... you work hard to shovel your drive and they come along and block ya in... not nice lol.
well ive just started the 3rd load of laundry... about 5 more to go... with john and i and 5 kids living in the house, we can make a load or 2 easily in one day. i should know better. our brand new washer went on the frits back in nov.... had to go to the laundry mat after about 7 without it... i NEVER wanna do that again! what a pain in the rump!!.well... savvy's up from her nap... had an extra long first one today which means no more sleepin till bedtime... thankfully shes an excellent sleeper and goes to bed like a little princess. lol..have a good day on the beach gals...

Hope I am not butting in either since I still am not officially on the SBD again yet but I am getting there lol.

Finally snow here too and my sons school was closed. We were out in the back playing with the dogs and having snowball fights.. it was a blast. Then we went out front and I left the car out of the garage so we could have some fun with it and we sure did. I wish we got more snow, its so beautiful until it gets all yucky and nasty lol. So now we are back inside nice and warm and had grilled cheese and am just missing the tomato soup. Now is a good time for me to dust off the SBD book and figure out my plan. So nice to have my son home on such a beautiful day so I am of course making excuses. My nutrition appointment was cancelled bc of the snow and today is when I was supposed to tell her if I am picking nutriststem or SBD to go back on. I am about 95% sure I am going to go back on SBD. Anyhow have a great day everyone!

03-02-2009, 02:07 PM
jen - good to see you back and to hear that dh is keeping his job! wtg on the inches and pounds!!
Thanks Zeff! What a huge weight that was lifted off our shoulders! The unknown was a scary place to be! Glad that is behind us.

My kids are off school today. I let them watch Jurasic Park yesterday, as I type, DS is acting like a T-Rex (If you have ever seen the movie, you would be shocked with his impression. He stomps and grunts like the T-Rex from the movie!) while chasing his sister around the house. She of course is shrieking and screaming as if there is a REAL dino chasing her!! ha ha
They have ideas of watching part 2 today. That should allow me to watch the Brothers & Sisters I taped last night. I can't wait!!

03-02-2009, 02:12 PM
What is it with boys and acting like dinosaurs? DS likes to do the same. He stalks me, though ;) Why are the kids off school? DH hates when Jurassic Park is on TV because I always tease him about looking like Jeff Goldblum.

I posted a youtube link of the new baby in yesterday's chat - it should be towards the end. He's gotten so big!

I'm just getting some housework done until DS1 wakes up from his nap. He has been wanting to go to Barnes and Noble to play with the trains for awhile now, so today we're going to take him. I also think I want to stop by the library on the way home.

We cut our cable this morning. The entire family watches far too much television and it's time to get back to the roots and enjoy time as a family doing other things rather than just sitting in front of the tv. It's an experiment...we'll see.

03-02-2009, 02:15 PM
Jenski- glad to hear all is well with you!

Just got back from the gym and I am very proud of myself for actually staying and working out over an hour! only 5 minutes over but hey, usually I will only stay for 30 minutes- I get so bored! It helped that I went at a time when some good hgtv shows were on! I love all the house hunting shows and I always have to see which one they picked so it made me stay on the treadmill! LOL... well, off to go update my MEC(March Exercise Challenge) stats and shower and get some grub!

ETA- Zeff, I wish we would cut out cable!!! As long as I could still get internet but without having a home phone there really is no other option... if I am home alone I never turn the thing on... but DH, well, thats a different story and I don't think he would like to part with it! I would be just fine with only a radio and internet- but I can't live without the net- lmao, its like a cell phone... Lost without it!

03-02-2009, 02:16 PM
Rikki - I love that show. I'll have to see if I can stream it on the HGTV website.

03-02-2009, 02:23 PM
I feel like I am following you around the boards zeff! lol... I guess I do watch a few shows on occasion- my newest fave is ace of cakes! I love it! goef is my favorite, he is hilarious without showing any enthusiasm! But, I just DVR it and watch it occasionally... so much easier when you don't have to watch the commercials and it only takes like 15 minutes a show~

03-02-2009, 02:33 PM
Good afternoon,

wow busy boards today, don't have to time to do personals.

We have no snow but it is cold, but should be warming up some this week.

Today am at work and we are busy busy busy. That is all on schedule

Have a great evening everyone

03-02-2009, 02:53 PM
Rikki - I used to watch Ace of Cakes all the time! They do some crazy cakes! I watch too much tv myself. But with Tivo, it is so easy. I just tape things and watch them when I have the time. It comes in handy on the nights DH plays poker with the guys. After the kids go to bed I can catch up on all the shows I missed! Of course, reading a book or cross stitching, etc would probably be a better way to spend my time. Oh well, I still seem to get those things in somehow! I have to be mindful when the kids are home. I can easily forget the TV is on, and the kids will jsut keep watching and watching. When I turn it off they do a great job of finding something else to do. Like the dino-chase game!
Zeff, I am off in search of that YouTube video!!
Found the video! WOW... what a cutie pie! Was the video dark, or does he really have that much dark hair?!?
I can't beleive how quickly time is flying by. I have had HORRIBLE baby fever these last few weeks. DH says it is really bad right now! But DS will be 7 and I didn't want that much of an age gap.... so I'll cash in on baby fever when my SIL gives birth in July!

03-02-2009, 02:57 PM
HGTV is my favourite channel... i watch it everyday... chloe(5) LOVES LOVES LOVES Ty Pennington!! she says she wants to meet him so she can give him a kiss... she flips if she misses his show lol... yeah shes 5! i might have my hands full here lol... i think our shows are different here in Canada. i dont know the one youre talking about. holmes on homes in fantastic, the fix is hilarious, property virgins is another good one. well ta ta for now... gotta go chase savvy lol

03-02-2009, 03:06 PM
Jen - It's good to see you again! Glad to hear DH is keeping his job. That must help with the stress.

03-02-2009, 03:22 PM
Jen - he just has that much hair :) If he is anything like his brother, it will all fall out soon, but then he will regrow thick thick thick hair! We just shaved DS1's head for the summer. He loves it!

We're keeping our net you, I don't think that we could live without the net ;) We have a home phone (it's cheaper than increasing our cell phone plan) so our cable company allows us to keep our net access through them as long as we keep the phone.

DH requested that we at least get basic cable in the fall so he can watch football. Maybe a DTV converter is in order?

03-02-2009, 03:35 PM
Zeff - our kids were being bad Saturday night, so I told them no tv on Sunday. They normally watch way too much tv, but they do do a fair amount of physical activity too.

They were the best behaved they have ever been! Much more cooperative, nicer to each other, much less screaming. Now, how do we incorporate this into everyday life? DH wants history channel, and I want my house hunters!! But let's ditch Noggin!!

03-02-2009, 03:44 PM
I agree... keep HGTV and ditch Noggin! Where I am at, we have 3 Noggin stations!!

03-02-2009, 04:04 PM
What's Noggin?

I used to like HGTV but then it turned into a house hunter show. Used to love Paul James, the gardener guy, the British chick who painted, the kitchen and bath shows. You could actually learn something. Gardener's Diary and Gardener's Journal, too. Wow... haven't thought about these shows in years.

Food TV is going down the same road... less learning opportunity and more contest-like programming. Still love Alton Brown, though.

03-02-2009, 05:19 PM
Noggin is a channel with preschool programming. I actually appreciate channels like Noggin and Sprout that don't have commercials aimed towards my kids. Whenever DS wants to watch Spongebob on Nickelodeon, I always have to contend with the "I WANT THAT!!!".

That being said, DH and DS played some video game golf together this morning while I did some laundry and dishes. They had a lot of fun and it was interactive. The tv hasn't been on since and it's been so much...well, I can't say it's been quieter because I haven't figured out how to mute DS, but the background noise has been substantially reduced.

well...until DH just turned the stereo on.

have I mentioned that I would like to have a guest house so that I could live in it?

Off to Barnes and Noble and a few other errands.

03-02-2009, 06:32 PM
have I mentioned that I would like to have a guest house so that I could live in it?

03-02-2009, 06:35 PM
Does anyone watch Brothers & Sisters.... and if so, did you catch it last night?!? WOW! LOVE that show! It was a good one last night too, just got done watching it off Tivo.
The kids and I made Puppy Chow (Muddy Buddies to some) today. Did I mention how I was phase 1/day 1 today? Why did I do that to myself?? I tasted it... needed to make sure it was OK for the kiddies ;). Hopefully no harm done. Stayed on track with clean eating the rest of the day.
Tonight will be the real test. When the kids are in bed and the munchies really hit.

03-02-2009, 07:21 PM
:dizzy: What is Tivo? I keep hearing about that. I thought it was a DVD player or something.

Can you tell I know nothing about television? :dizzy:

03-02-2009, 07:40 PM
you basically put your tv programs in a box! lol... like recording them so you can fast forward, rewind and pause your programs... but you don't have to have all the tapes, the boxes have loads of memory...

03-02-2009, 08:18 PM
Jen - had to make sure it wasn't poisonous, eh? I frequently do that, and if there is any left over the next day -- I have to taste it again to make sure that it hasn't gone bad overnight.

ya know...cuz I don't want to be responsible for the deaths of my children, and all.

not one bit.

or something.

anyway. I'm starting a blog - cooking (I know, I know, there are tons). I think I'm going to focus on baking and my focus within baking will probably be cookies. I'm going to use my friends as test subjects because the two human garbage disposals that I live with will put down whatever comes out of the oven, regardless of taste.

Does anybody think that I have a shot at a successful blog? I need something to occupy my days and mind other than small children. They are fun and all, but sheesh.

Hi Friends!

I missed you guys! :D We had such a good time in Louisiana. I started with a strong will, but gave in to the smell of seafood gumbo quickly. I ate all the good stuff, way too much of the good stuff. I'll get on the scale in the morning and see the damage. I'm not going to feel guilty. I'm just going to jump back on the bandwagon in the morning.

We missed a good snow storm here in Alabama -- 2-3 inches! Our deck is still covered. Auston got to play a little. He was so excited!

Y'all were chatty while I was gone. Gotta go read! :)

anyway. I'm starting a blog - cooking (I know, I know, there are tons). I think I'm going to focus on baking and my focus within baking will probably be cookies. I think you would be great at it!!! You have a way with words... and you always have great cooking/baking ideas.
Sign me up, I'd love to read your blog.

DS wants to repaint his room. He never did get to pick the theme. I painted it all cute with a baseball theme before he was 2. He'll be 7 in May. He has decided on Disney Cars. The ideas are flying thru my head! I LOVE decorating and painting. Good timing kid, I have some time on my hands! :D

Jen - I'll let you know when I launch. Right now, I'm trying to find designers for my layouts and stuff...trying to cash in a few favors :)

DS' room is also Cars, although less Disney more "race car". I made him a valance out of the "race car" flag material and he has red curtains under that. A race car bed and a nightstand that I painted the base red and the top in the same checked pattern as his valance. He also has some car paraphernalia on the walls - license plates and such.

eta: when the frick did Ezekiel bread start costing over $8 a loaf?

I'm excited about your blogging future, Zeffryn. I'm addicted to my blog, and while it's not a successful one, it is fulfilling and a great outlet. I know many woman bloggers who are having great success and are loving what they do. I think the best ones, as far as success goes, have a blogger that is passionate about what they blog about and don't jump around from subject to subject too much. It certainly sounds like you're on the right track, so I say go for it! Let us know when it's up and running! I promise I'll be a regular reader!
