I am still fighting this sinus mess...I feel like I am in a fog.Im not taking any meds today just using a nasal spray.I hate the medicine head feeling!!
I didnt do to good over the weekend. We ate out 2 times..and I ate to many chips at the mexican place.
Today is a new day and I will pump up my water today even more. I think I am ready to have this wedding behind us!! It seems like all we do is stuff for it!
Hubby is going to the grocery store for me today! WE have only been buying a few items at a time since losing alot of food due to the long power outage. We have a list of healthy foods for him to buy. I cant wait to have the house full of good foods again!! Its really hard to make healthy choices when you dont have it at home!
Carol text messaged me just as she was ready to sail.I hope she has a wonderful stress free time!!

Morning ladies,
No day off here. No holidays until Memorial Day. I'll take a day off here and there to have long weekends as the weather improves.
I'm feeling pretty okay today considering I did so much walking yesterday. Tonight should be a 30 minute interval cardio workout. I think I'll walk the dogs for 30 minutes when I get home and then do the 30 minutes on the spinner. I can do intervals on that. Dog walking, while it is exercise, jut has to be considered part of my chores and not part of my fat-burning routine. Its the icing on the cake, so to speak. :D
I'm thinking about beating my scale with a baseball bat. Seriously. I bought a WW scale last fall and am not liking it at all. I get very wild fluctuations from day to day. (Yes, I know about the daily weigh-ins but I'm going to do it and I want a scale that is consistent.) It can fluctuate 5-7 pounds so I end up checking it more than once when I do a weigh-in because I'm never sure what the real number is. Yesterday, it was 259.0 for three times. This morning it is 266.4 for three times. WTF! Very frustrating and annoying.
Debi - Thanks for the reminder about the water. That is something I do okay with at work but not well enough at home. Especially on the weekend. Just wait until the wedding day and it will go too quickly!
Barb - Have a great, productive day. What's the boy getting for this birthday?
Heather - Work hard at the gym.
Sue - Hey, how are you doing? Hope you're doing okay.
I better get busy. to all!

Well...so much for productive. :dizzy: This morning after I dropped of the boys I went to get my car buffed - a teenager hit me last weekend and took off some paint - I'm not going to make him pay to have the entire bumper repainted - instead just to clean it up a bit. It's not perfect, but I'm not going to worry about it. If the car was newer I would have gotten it redone. Anyway, after that DH and I decided to go shopping for the boy. We detoured on the way to the casino. We ended up spending a few hours there playing slots and electronic blackjack and having lunch. We had fun, but left our money there. Then we did our shopping and now he's picking up the boys while I'll chill for a few minutes before my date with my trainer. I've got to do some stuff later. Guess I'll get to it eventually. I also have to back up all my personal files on my work laptop. Rumor is tomorrow is a BIG layoff day. I think I'm going to get through it, but you never know. :^:
Terri - For what it's worth I didn't like my WW scale either. I have a Tanita (I think that is right) that is very consistent and accurate vs. the medical scales I've checked it against). Jackson is getting a little indoor roller coaster for his Bday. No loop-d-loops or anything :) it's just a little 6 foot hilly thing with a car. The boys played with it at a friend's house and had a ball. We also got him a couple other little things. I'll share pictures. I usually go all out making the kids Bday cakes, but I've decided I'm just going to pick up a couple cupcakes for the kids to have. We are going to take them to Chuck-e-Cheese on Thursday night to celebrate. Bummer on no day off for you.
Debbie - Thank you for the 15 pound shout out. :) It's actually 13 so far....hopefully I'll see 15 very soon!
DG - Grats on your great loss last week!!! :D
I'm off again...

Every day of sabbatical is a day off, yet not off :) Actually, truth is, this week we have dean's candidates coming in every day except today, so I guess today was a day off--at least I didn't have anything on my calendar, which isn't true for the rest of the week.
Did okay today, though I was still at 1900 calories, and that hasn't been working for me yet. Did exercise 30 minutes. I have GOT to figure out how to get 2 sessions/day in.
DG: Congrats on your loss. I don't know too many 16 year olds :) But if you ever come to visit family let me know!

Morning ladies,
Dixie slept through the night and yet I was still awake at 3 am for a bit. GRRRR! Although, I do have something on my mind.
I got a call from the recruiter yesterday about the phone interview I did a couple of weeks ago. They want me to come in and meet the CFO and the SVP of HR. They are deciding if they are coming to Kansas City or if they want me to come to Atlanta. According to the recruiter, it is between an internal candidate and me. We have not talked compensation or benefits yet of course so I'm trying not to lose my head just yet. DH and I had a good conversation last night about making the sensible choice. Do I walk away from a known job that could, or could not, end this year? Do I walk into an unknown without having to do so? etc. Of course first thing I did last night was try on my one and only suit. It fits but would look a tad bit better if about 10 pounds of this midriff roll were gone. I say that because I've watching too much "What Not to Wear" and how they always button a jacket. :D
On that note, I am going to try to work in a bit of morning exercise.
Barb - Thanks for the feedback. I think I may check out a Tanita at Bed, Bath and Beyond soon.

Okay so before I forget, I am sure some of you watch Oprah. My sister wants to know if anyone has tried or is trying the ACAI and how they are doing on it? She wants to try it. She has an appt. today with her dr. and is going to ask about it. But was wondering. Anyone? ? ?
Now, Good Morning!
Wow what a weekend. We were planning on going up to see hubby as the girls had yesterday off from school. Well Saturday my sister calls and her hubby had some training up this way to do so she was coming with him if okay with me. So I met them and I took her with me to go prom dress shopping with older daughter. Oh wholy bologny, what a crazy day. Found one dress but was way-way-way out of price. So we decided to try town in the other direction on Sunday after church. So we did and found one right away! YEAH! Of course we brought it home. I had a wonderful visit with my sister and then her hubby picked her up Sunday evening. So yesterday younger daughter and I did some cleaning and sneezing and packing of some stuff and gong through some stuff! It has only begun! UGH!! I really missed seeing hubby. He could have came down, but had to work on Saturday and then had an appt. on Monday a.m. So didn't make any sense to him to be on the road for 8 hours. We will see him this weekend. Today I have a headache. I think it is continued over from last night as the older daughter was arguing about having to do "everything" and how dare I ask her to do it and why can't her sister do it. Okay, this girl was gone, Friday night, shopping all day Saturday, all day Sunday, spent Sunday night with a friend, and didn't come home until yesterday about 3 p.m. And I am the ogre who asked her to do her chores!!! How can that be? So I told her since she felt like she was the one who did everything around here, that that is how it will really be from now on!!!! Oh yea, that one went over well as you can imagine. Then she told me how I just didn't understand her and she has so much to worry about and how could I interrupt her talking to a friend on the phone to ask her to take out the trash. Her younger sister was not feeling well so I went to put her to bed. I came back and she still had not taken it out. I then took her phone away and that was the end of the world! I went to bed with a headache. I called hubby as to say goodnight and couldn't even talk to him as I was so frustrated. Today I am hoping will get better. I think after the girls go to school, I will try and lay back down. I am aching all over. I feel like TOM is coming this week. UGH. And. . . . this is the one who I took shopping for two days and bought a prom dress for and accessories!! But yet, she is the one who never gets to go anywhere or do anything. Teenager!!! I am praying for so much more patience than I have now as the other daughter is going to be 10 this summer. I know the teenage years are around the corner. And like I don't have anything to worry. HA! I am praying things calm down or they might have to get my jacket early! hehe
Well, I am hoping for a better day! Drinking water now! Penny

Don't you hate going back to work after a 3-day weekend? No more holidays for me until May 8 – Truman Day. The best part of working for the state is the obscure holidays they give us. I do have some vacation scheduled in April though.
I did dinner out for V-day on Friday. It was funny…on the way to the restaurant DH said he'd meant to have flowers and a card, but overslept and never got to it. I said, "So the card and candy in my closet…I should just keep that for myself?" We got to the restaurant and there was a 30 minute wait and he walked next door to the florist and got me flowers. Silly man. Dinner was yummy, fattening, and I paid for it the next day at WI and was up 1.2 lbs. I'm not terribly concerned. Eating pasta and cream sauce and cheese and bread and cheesecake and wine the night before WI – NOT the smartest move. We did split the appetizer, salad, entrée and dessert, and even brought some home with us, but still it was more food than I needed.
Saturday was uneventful. Just went to WW and did some shopping and such and Sunday was much the same. Church, more shopping, housework. Monday too! I don't really know where my weekend went, you know? Did some cleaning. Did some cooking. It just flew by and then today, back to work.
Penny, I sympathize. I know I have enough dealing with my nearly 14 yo son…I can't imagine a girl!
Terri, the interview is kind of exciting! As for leaving a job…I couldn't give advice, as I've never left one of my own free will. My first "real" job (not summer part-time stuff) was as a lawyer since I went right from high school to college to law school, and I was there six years, until we had a parting of the ways. Basically, I was fired, but was already looking for a different job when it happened and they gave me a couple months and severance. Then I was here. Heck, even my ill-fated interview was in the same office I work for now. I saw your exercise on the last thread! 5K! :carrot: Color me impressed!!!
Barb, :crossed: for you! Hope the layoff passes right on by you!

Morning ladies,
I am tired and I am grouchy. A horrible nights sleep and its not Saturday!
Barb - I was thinking the same thing last night about Dixie. I lay there for 45 minutes while she yipped thinking she had to fall asleep eventually, right?! She didn't and I caved. I am glad to see that you survived the layoffs but do understand what a heavy heart you must have. I still think I went through post-traumatic stress after we went through so many months of people being laid off. Its not easy on the people left behind either. to you.

Must have been the night for not eating and getting up grouchy! I actually was asleep shortly before 11, but that alarm going off at 5:10 is always rude. To top it off, I never get up before 6, and don't sleep well fighting the alarm, so it's a wasted effort. I need to get up earlier though. Either that, or start skipping my WO on mornings I wash my hair (every other day). I'm late otherwise, like today.

Well, I have gotten out of bed. Self pity and fear can be so much fun. The first few days, I didn't eat much, but for the last few days, I've been a sugar and bacon junkie. Have gained back the last 2 lbs I lost, and I haven't been going to the gym. Or posting to share with you guys.
My husband works part-time at Panera, and he has been bringing home extra paninis, bread, sausages, salads, all sorts of stuff. Cost-saving opportunity.
I sent out 3 resumes - one full-time, 2 freelance. Got 3 answers. Have had a couple of interviews. Trying really hard to ignore the outcome - won't hear anything for a week or two. Will keep sending out resumes, and hope I get more responses. It's like, if I say anything, I won't get any jobs, and I am a wreck. To be honest, I didn't expect any responses at all, because Michigan is an employment disaster, but I guess I have skills.
Tomorrow, am going to Unemployment to register - got severence from work, so wasn't eligible til this week, and I couldn't face unemplyment office and job interviews on the same day.
Will try to post more later - this was hard. But maybe I'll be back on track

Teri- how did dixie do last night?
heather_ how are you today?
lilion- hubby makes fun of me because i get up an hour and a half before my 1st kid gets here. I have to have ME time before i can deal with kids!! LOL
my ME time includes 2-3 cups of coffee and computer time. I need to add in exercise in ME time.
Youngest daughters car is dead or dying. We were advised to get rid of it NOW!! She is heading to the bank this morning to see if they will loan her money. Luckily she had gotten a loan in nov and paid it back already just trying to start building her credit. This will be a big change for her..till now all she has had to pay is her cellphone bill and insurance on her car. Life is so hard when you are in college and trying to work partime.
As for me...I think i may be back in the ZONE! EAting has been good the past few days and seems easy..hopefully it will stick this time!! As for now I plan on eating off only the day of the rehersal and wedding. I like how I am feeling !!! I tend to eat off on sat...but am setting my goal as to not cheat this weekend at all!! I use to only have a cheat meal everyone once in a blue moon. I think i know why my weight hasnt dropped like it was...i had been eating off to much!!!

Happy Birthday Barb's Baby!!! I went to a friend's neice's birthday party at Chucky Cheese this year. It was kind of surreal - Nothing like a giant rat singing songs that they have to change the words too to make them kid-appropriate! (Don't remember which one, but I know there was one that my friend and I were rolling over  because it was a very sexy song that they tried to make decent!)
dgramie, glad you are back in the food zone! :carrot:
Terri, Did Daisy survive? Mac and Suz are such barkers when they are playing they just about make me nuts, but they are little mice at night, without even the squeeks! (Some snores though! )
Nothing new to report here, other than I WANT SPRING! I bought some lettuce and herb seeds and "instant dirt" pellets yesterday to try to get some veggies started early. Not sure if my spinach, etc. from last year is still good, but I'm going to try to get some little plants started in my Jiffy tray so when it's warm enough I can get a head start! I'm just SO looking forward to fresh veggies again!!!

Morning ladies,
LOL, Dixie did survive. I've decided she is just a night owl and she's a good little watch dog. So, after she went to bed and then went I was ready to go to bed, I let her out and let her have a couple of minutes outside to run and bark. That's all she does. Then she was ready to come back inside and right back to bed. At 2:00, I heard her start yipping. So instead of fighting it, I got right up and put her out and I went back to bed and sleep. Later on, I woke up, got up and let her back inside and she went right for her bed and so did I. Not ideal sleep but at least I wasn't mad at her which makes it harder to sleep. I'm counting down the days until its not so cold outside at night.
I was so tired last night that I didn't do anything. I also think that I am getting worn down by the job situation. Anticipation and wondering if I could really make the change. So I'm trying hard to shake that today and put it out of my mind.
Sue - I'm glad you posted. I am so sorry you are going through this. :grouphug: You'll be in my prayers. Getting interviews and responses is a good thing. Try to work in some gym time. Keeping on with life can help your emotional state during such difficult times. That is something you can control when other things feel like they are spiraling. Good luck and keep your head held high!
Barb - Happy baby birthday! Today is my dad's birthday too. I'll have to call mom today to see how old dad would be. I think 83. Have fun today and enjoy the family time! Sounds like you have a night-owl-in-training on your hands!
Debi - LOL, I understand the ME time. DH doesn't understand why I get up early on the weekends instead of sleeping in. Its that time when he's asleep and I have the house to myself. Love that time. Sorry to hear about the car. Especially right when you guys are so focused on the wedding. Good job for getting back in the zone.
Lilion - I am with you. I am so ready for spring. At least today, the sun is shining. Yesterday was so darned gloomy.
Heather - Did you overcome grouchy yesterday? I did eventually however I didn't overcome tired until bedtime.
Angela - Did you get some rest? Funny that so many of us are having a rough week in that regards. Hey, you're doing very good with keeping at the exercise.
Penny - I've not heard any feedback on the Acai berry. I've seen lots of advertisements from people like Oprah and Rachel Ray. Its a wonder that some daughters live through the teen years into adulthood! Have you had a better couple of days? Hope so!
Ruth - Hey, are you okay after the storms in Georgia? Let us know!

THe wedding is 8 days away:fr: Yes all the sewing is done and i do still need to trim the threads on the table runners. I cant do that when i have the kids here.Im planning on doing that tommorow.
Daughter is freaking out...the church holds 250 and she has rsvp for 270. Not sure how we will handle that!!! Food has been ordered for 300 so we are fine there reception seating is for 300
. Im still thinking some who send in rsvps wont actually show up. I also know some who didnt rsvp who will come. Guess it will be standing room at the back for those who want to stand. good thing its will be a short and sweet service. I never dreamed almost everyone would rsvp and be planning on coming. I think only about 30 cards have not been returned. She also didnt plan on so many bringing a date. oh well...it will all work out...I HOPE!!!
Im still in the zone and its so easy..if only we could bottle the easy days for the hard ones. I am so excited and praying to finally get out of the 220s this week.
My new addiction is frozen blueberries..i cant get enough of them and eat them frozen..YUMMY!!! I am also pretty addicted to laughing cow cheese right now.

dgramie - just a thought on the seating in the church. At my wedding, there was space for 70 (a TINY chapel) and we thought we'd have more, so we hired a babysitter and had a anteroom for the kids with coloring books, a tv/vcr and some games. That way their bored little bottoms weren't taking up seats from adults and they got to play while their parents were at the service. Actually, since we were married on-campus, the anteroom was off the ballroom for the reception, in the building next to the chapel, so the kids had it for the reception too - which was wonderful and made for a more "up-scale" reception...but that's not important here. My thought is that if the church has a nursery, maybe you could get someone to man it during the service for any children who don't want to sit thru it. Kind of short notice, but it would free up seats....

Hi ladies,
Someone asked about the acai berry recently. I just read on the home page here at 3FC an article about how it is a scam company claiming that Dr Oz, Oprah and Rachel Ray are supporting the product. If you're still interested check out that article and the link to a ripoff report website.

I just reran the numbers for the wedding and that number was adding in the wedding party and preachers and everyone who will not be seated! I think we will be fine with the number of chairs extra we had planned on using.
Carol gave me a link to the webcam she would be by today.SHe looks GREAT!! I am so proud of her and the amazing job she is doing with her weight loss and keeping everyone motivated!! It was awesome to see my dear friend online!! She is tan and having a blast from what i could tell!!

Hi gang,
Had a couple of no-exercise days (but got back on the wagon today). Yesterday was my birthday and I just got a little thrown off by people wanting to celebrate.
Thanks, Terri, for the encouragement. I think maybe a couple of pounds have finally come off. I can't believe how much harder it is this time around. But I do feel better, generally, when I exercise, so that's enough reason to keep with it, I guess, and maybe when I get up to an hour a day I'll find a few more pounds coming off.
Hope everyone's having a good week.

Hi Ladies!
Thank you for all the Bday wishes for my little guy. We had a nice family birthday celebration! I'll post some pics when I have a little extra time.
It's been a tough week and I'm in a bit of an emotional funk right now. All will be good. I just didn't want it to seem like I've disappeared.
Today was my first weigh in with a gain. :( I was a tad bummed. I was up 0.8 from last Friday. Not a huge deal. I was down yesterday. The daily fluctuations are to be expected. I have been used to losing so consistently that I have to deal with the bit of slow down. My trainer thinks a lot of my recent difficulty is due to my stress levels. Food and exercise have still been spot on. Only time will tell. If I've learned one thing in this process it's that I have to have patience with it.
I'm beat and think I'll head to bed shortly. Hi and hugs to all!

Great job DG!!!
I was back down a touch today thankfully. We just went out for dinner and I could have strangled DH. He's got to start thinking one of these days. We went to Outback. I knew before we even got there that I was ordering grilled Chix with veggies. While I was getting the kids settled I heard him ask the server for something but wasn't paying attention. Next thing I know a Bloomin' onion shows up at the table. OK - we all know that is one of the worst foods in America. I just gave him a look and sat there while he ate at least 1/2 of the thing. He acted surprised that I wasn't even going to have one bite. Nope - didn't touch it. Then he had at least a loaf of bread, next was the lettuce wedge with a ton of blue cheese. I did have a few bites of this but tried to get the bites w/ the littlest amt of dressing. Next was the 20oz steak with french fries. Oh and 2 big old cokes. :frypan: He doesn't seem to care or have a clue that he ate a couple days of calories in one meal. I enjoyed every bite of my healthy dinner.
It's so frustrating and difficult to have my spouse on such different pages than I am. Argh.
I had a great morning at the gym today. My trainer wasn't able to make it but I had my chart to follow my same workout. It was a good one and I was at the gym for nearly 2 hours. Loved it!
My little one napped today, big one refused, but I told him I was watching "mommy tv" and he had to play quietly. I actually curled up on the couch and watched a couple shows. I haven't done that in forever and it was NICE! :)
I'm pretty much just rambling now. I hope everyone is having a happy and healthy Saturday.
Catch ya later!
:)

I survived dinner out at PF Changs tonight. Geesh my hubby certainly wanted to test (or sabotage) me this weekend. I did NOT give in to the temptations!!!
