Question Where & how to start

I went to my dr last week she recomended that i get this book "Body for life for women" I know i need to start weight training to tone up & to build muscle, so i went and bought some hand weight's (10pd's) to start,i also bought resistance rope thingy. Is there a book that show's me what & how to do & what kind of exersice's to do, I have some flab i really need to get toned up, most of which is my tummy (it's flabby not tummy fat) and i have bat wing's for upper arm's,

I do cardio everyday treadmill (run)5 mi's & if the weather is nice enough i'll do a 10 mile run/walk, I can't believe i can even do this because of my back, it's bad.

I would be really greatful with any suggestion's that you may have.

Sorry abt any typo's i misplaced my reading glasses again

Did you buy the book? It has some stuff in it.

Here is a sticky about a resistance band workout:

Also this website is very useful for talking about weights and starting with weights for women.
