Wow! I can't believe it's February already! We had a little reprieve with the snow on Sunday and hit a high of 41...felt like a heat wave with the sun shining!

I had a pretty busy weekend--Friday night DH and I went out to dinner after I got done at WW and he with his union meeting. Saturday we did grocery shopping then we had the rugby banquet in the evening. Sunday I worked at WW then went to the mall to check out the sales--got a great leather jacket for $49 (originally225).

I got the information for my sonogram of my thyroid--go for that this Friday at 11:30. I really hope they figure out what's going on. I have a busy week ahead of me--tomorrow is our Wellness Fair, Wednesday I have a funeral in the afternoon; Thursday so far is quiet and then on Friday I have the scan, doctor's appointment and then we have employee recognition (I get my 25 year award). Phew! I'm tired just thinking about the week!

How about that game last night?! I really had hoped the Cardinals could pull it off...it was a good game though.

Pam: Glad you liked the recipe--it's so easy and it makes a lot. I bet you could use it for a sandwich spread too.

Melissa, Agree--February already?? You really have a busy week. I'm busy, too, with The Sound of Music rehearsals. We open on Saturday. Yes, the game was good, especially the 4th quarter.

Good going on the leather jacket--a deal. I do hope they find out what's going on with your thyroid.

Good job you busy ladies. No game for me yesterday. I went skiing Sat. night and had a long training run on sunday. All was pretty good for the week. Ate all my points except about 20 Ap's. Pretty good for me.

Still sick here, ladies :( I ended up having a chest x-ray done on Friday, but I won't find out the results until tomorrow probably. The chest congestion and coughing are still pretty horrible. My sore throat went away Friday, but then everything moved to my head and its all in my sinuses now too :( The coughing fits have been keeping me up at night, and so I haven't been getting much sleep either. I am back at work today, but I don't know if I will stay the full day or not.

Melissa - Wow you have a busy week! Congrats on the 25 years.

Lisa - How long do you normally rehearse for before a performance? A few weeks?

run4change - Welcome to the group! No game for me either. I am not a football fan. I was still sick in bed, so I watched the House marathon.

Lori, It sounds like you have what I had last month--yuck. And when you're expecting, what can the doctors give you? The cough I had was so deep and hard that I pulled some muscles in my chest. It was horrible. Take care of yourself.

For a musical, we rehearse 6-8 weeks, but because of Christmas, we had to go longer. We did not rehearse Christmas week.

Just got the chest x-ray results back - no bronchitis or pneumonia (yay!) so that means no antibiotics which means I will have to suffer through this until it goes away on its own.

Lisa - Right now, all I can take is Robitussin DM (for the cough and chest congestion) and Sudafed (for the sinuses). Neither is really helping very much I think.

Lori: What you have sounds a lot like what I had...the coughing is the worst. My sinuses have been acting up a little with the temp fluctuations. Have you ever heard of a Neti Pot? They work great for clearing out the sinuses and it's a natural way to do it. They're finding that it works way better than antibiotics, etc. Check it out.

Lisa: How was the spa party on Friday evening? Did you like it?

Lori, Sure glad it's not pneumonia. I've heard of the Neti pot, but never tried one.

Melissa, The spa party was a lot of fun. I really liked the hand treatment and the foot cream.

I have the Neil Med, its like the Neti Pot except you have to squeeze the bottle to get the stuff in your sinuses, so it is supposed to clean it out a little better. I'm feeling better today. Hopefully I'll be back to normal in a couple of days.

I went to an asthma clinic today and they ended up putting me on a daily inhaler for my asthma. I'm hoping that after I deliver my breathing will go back to what it was before and I can be taken off the daily inhaler.

Good morning!

Lori: I certainly hope you start to feel better soon! I still have my cough and it's aggravating. I have a follow up doctor appointment on Friday afternoon. I'm tired of this cough!

Lisa: The foot cream is great for me with the cold temps my heels are so dry and crack, ugh!

It's been a crazy week here--we had 2 deaths in DH's family and one of those was his nephew (35) and it was not expected. We have the funeral today and I'm not looking forward to it--it's never easy in the first place and then when they're young it's even worse!

Yesterday we had our employee wellness fair and I'm part of the committee so the morning I was helping out. I'm really looking forward to my trip next week and relaxing a little and enjoying the sunshine! It's cold here this morning (18) and the temp is supposed to drop this afternoon. We're on the roller coaster with the weather again--by the weekend we're going to see the 40's again!

Lori, Hope you're doing better. I would suppose that the baby is causing your breathing problems. Won't be long till you have a bundle of joy.

Melissa, How terrible for you and DH--two funerals? 35 is so young. It must have been a shock.

I forget--where are you going for a vacation? We have cold weather here too. It will be 29 on Thursday morning. Not looking forward to that.

Lisa: This afternoon was rough but my sister-in-law's DH said it best, "My son is now at peace". He had an addiction and now he's able to be at peace and they don't have to worry. It was really tragic and it was definitely unexpected--he died of an overdose at home. DH and I are heading to San Diego in one week! I can't wait!!

I was able to make it to my WW meeting today at noon and was down another pound--honestly I was surprised because my rings felt tight and I really thought I was going to be up. I haven't been good at all with keeping track and I've eaten all the wrong things--this is how I know that something is wrong with my thyroid or something else! The weight has been dropping off without effort and it's a little scary to be honest. I'm not complaining because I'm back in my comfort zone and in the 130's again which I never thought I'd see again.

It's cold here tonight--7 degrees now and it's supposed to drop down to 0 and then over the weekend we're going to be in the 40's. It's crazy!

Melissa, Addiction is so sad. A young life was wasted. A former coworker died a couple weeks ago (only 55); she was an alcoholic. She was a smart lady, too. Just awful.

Argh--your weather is horrible--you will really enjoy San Diego. Make sure you go walk around La Jolla.

Congrats on the loss, but I can see that you would be concerned.

It's 32 degrees here today with a strong wind--very, very cold for Florida.

The Sound of Music opens on Saturday. We have rehearsal tonight and tomorrow night. I hope it goes well. Some of cast members are sick with that awful cold going around.

My eating has been so-so. I tried on a pair of jeans that used to fit just right and they're reeeeaaaaly snug--I need to get OP again.

I am feeling better, but still not great. I've been really busy at work.

Melissa I am so sorry for your loss :(

I can really emphasize with you Lisa because some of my maternity stuff is starting to feel tight. and I've already gone up from mediums to larges. Yuck :(

Lori, At least you have an excuse...LOL

What's everyone doing this weekend? Sound of Music opens tomorrow. I have dress rehearsal tonight. I can't believe it's already here. Here's a link to our local paper's report and that's a photo of me. [/url]="http://www.floridatoday.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/200902060108/LIFE/902060309"]

Hi! Our computers at work are down due to a virus that they haven't been able to get fixed. It some sort of "downloader" and from what I'm hearing it's really wreaking havoc on our IT department. Three of our 4 computers had a pop up when we came in on Wednesday. They're working on getting the problem resolved this weekend and I was told they had to check over 800 computers on campus. They were asking if people would come in over the weekend to help.

I had a busy weekend--WW on Friday night, the sportsman's raffle that I help with on Saturday evening, WW this morning. My DS and his wife are coming over for dinner later--I made a turkey breast and I also was inspired to make a fresh apple pie.

I saw the doctor again on Friday (still have that cough) and I'm on yet another pill and some cough medicine that will hopefully take care of it. I'm also having some sinus issues because the temps are fluctuating (52 yesterday, 32 today). I did get the sonogram done and she (Dr.) said she should have the results on Monday. She is also having me go for more blood work to see where my thyroid levels are and she's doing an antibody test too. She said a virus could have caused my thyroid to go crazy so we'll see what the tests reveal. At the moment I'm "hyper" insteadof "hypo".

A short week this week--Thursday we leave for California!

Lori: I hope you're feeling better.
