Good Morning Ladies:)

Got on the scale this morning and its wasn't good went up+2. I just can't figure on what point range that my bod whats to be.

I tried to up my points to 32[1600]and it didn't work ,so I went to a one of the WW boards that I go to in the morning & asked how many calories in a point???To my surprise its from 30-90 cal per point.Depending on the fiber & fat. I was using 50 per point, now I totally confused.

I have to ask a QUESTION for you, as I don't remember,we on the core plan don't have to count points its just the momentum plan,is that correct.

PAULA & SLOAN-Thanks for starting us up.Sloane,I have no idea how to get it off, you'll probably have to asked the moderators to do that.

Have a nice morning, will be back later

Sloan, weird about the pages. I know I double checked before I started it that there wasn't one. Oh well~~

Maryann - on core, you don't track points, just eat core foods until satisfied. If you eat something not core (now filling food), you count points from the 35 weekly. This is now called the simply filling technique. If that was working before, maybe try it again. I've been counting points and eating core for a while (even before the introduction of momentum). I'm still keeping processed food to a minimum. Do you eat a lot of prepared foods?

I'm home and pooped. I kept the granddaughters today. We shopped, lunched, then went to the movies. I totaled my pts and got 26, so I'm a happy chickie. Today is the kind of day I usually go "off the wagon". We had lunch at Cracker Barrel. The girls liked it and I was able to stay on course. Life is good. I took a Fiber One bar to the movies so I just had 1 pt there.

Paula and Sloan, thank you for the new pages.

Maryann, I have an old points calculator I use. I don't count calories. I just figure pts.

Tejas

30 to 90 calories per point?? Hmmm Well, why not just count calories to know for sure. Or, at least for a while. Most foods have the calories listed so you could get an idea I suppose of how the food's calories matches to WW points.

Oh well, it's beyond me tonight

I was totally off today but it was intentional. I went out for falafel and even had a beer with it. I haven't had Middle-Eastern food for a year, and I love it.

Hope you're all having a good night.

Good Morning Ladies:)

We're having a snow storm right now and we;re suppose to get 6-8 inches for the storm ends Wed. Morning.

I got a cute e-mail this morning about the subject. Let see if I could print it. Sorry, I can't but the saying was ARE YOU SICK OF WINTER??? than you scroll down to see a snowman on a bench with a noose around this neck.:lol3:

I'm so disappointed in my gaining,I have no idea way??????as I'm watching my sodium and I didn't go over my point range[32pts1600c]......Gained all back what I lost in January........

The only thing different that I did this week was to workout out on my treadmill and exercising bike every day for 30-45 minutes.

Do you know that in the UK the point is = to 70 cals??? and Ours here in the states is between 30-90 cals ,why can't WW all around the world have the same point value.

PAULA-Maybe I should go back to the core, but than I would have to eat at a lower calorie range and that's where the problem started, its too low for me. I guess I will choose a lower calorie 1500 [30P USA]or[22P UK]. Oh!! I don't eat process foods[froz entrees]any more.

SANDRA-I have a old tracker, that counted more than 4 fibers that they use now, will that help?? The old calculator that I have uses exchanges, before WW turned to points.

RHONDA-That's a good idea, never thought of comparing the mfg food nutritional label to WW companion.

Thanks Ladies for all your help I will continue with counting calories and see how far low on the calorie scale will I have to go until I reach the correct amount.

Have a great Morning

good afternoon ladies.

Maryann, 32 pts sounds like a lot. I was eating between 20-22 and losing. My pts are suppose to be 19, with 35 wpa's, so I would allow myself 19 plus up to 5 per day, so 24 max. I also earn 2 pts each day with exercise but never use them. Good luck. I also was tracking my calories and would aim for 1200-1400 per day.

Vicky, way to go. Congrats on your loss.

Rhonda, never had falafel. What is it?

Sandra, I usually grab a Kashi bar, when I know no healthy choices available.

Hi Paula and sloanie.

I am doing a modified SBD and Core. Both are healthy lifestyles. We had a delicious dinner at Outback. I had a small piece of cake for my husband's birthday. No weight gain.

Need to grocery shop. Have a good day.

Hey chickies!

I can't believe how long it's been since I posted. I am still making calls about getting the internet at home. Maybe one day it will happen! It is so much easier to keep up with y'all after school. My days get so busy that I don't even have time to catch up on what is happening "on the board". I have finally lost the extra pounds I gained over the Christmas holiday. I only have 5 to go, but I feel like I have been saying that for months. Oh well, I am feeling so much better by eating filling foods that it should not matter how long it takes.

I have a new addition at my house, an 8 week old maltipoo puppy. Her name is Pippi, and she is black with white feet. She weighs a whopping 1.7 pounds and is already following commands. I've been thinking about getting a small dog for several months, so I finally decided to take the plunge. Of course, it's like having a new baby, but I'm really enjoying her.

Paula-great minds think alike, don't they?

Sandra-your day with the girls sounds great. Congrats for staying in control!

Rhonda-I, too, have never had falafel. Tell us about it!

Maryann-sorry about your gain! Maybe when the weather is better you can get more active outside, and that will help.

Vickie-a loss is a loss! :carrot:

Pam-my weakness is birthday cake with that yummy frosting made with fat! It's even better with ice cream. Happy birthday to your hubby.

Got work to do. Grades, grades, grades :dizzy:

Hi Everyone
Just a quick check in.
See how everyone is doing.
I tried to get on yesterday. But for some reason my internet wasnt working.

BEACHBUM I am sorry for your gain. But maybe your body is adjusting to the exercise. And next week the weight will come off. We had some snow this morn. But the sun is trying to shine. The roads got kinda bad this morn. But are cleared up now. But guess we are to get some more snow tonight into the morn. I always heard 50 cal= a point. Have a great day. I am thinking of you.

VICKIE Congrats on the loss. Every little bit adds up. Keep up the good work.

PAM920, SLOANIE, ONTARGET, TEJAS, BLESSEDWITHSARAH Hi Hope you are all doing good.

I had loss last night. I lost 2 lbs. We have a girl in our class she got her 50 lb star last night. But before she joined WW. She was/is doing Curves. She lost 41. So she has a total of 91 lbs off. I cant imagine her heavy.
Well I am going to get off here. Need to do a couple loads of laundry.
So will be back later.

I'm op and feeling great. We're deep into indoor archery season so the excitement is building. In the past I've used that excitement as an excuse to eat. So far so good this time.

Maryann, my points calculator was made prior to the 4 pt fiber count, too, and that's what I'm using.

Vickie, what would you say to me if I posted I'd lost .4 pound? I want to wish you congratulations. I know you were wanting a bigger loss, but .4 isn't bad.

Rhonda, I'm glad you enjoyed your outing. A day off plan every now and then shouldn't hurt.

Pam, you are very focused. I am impressed.

Sloan, okay, now you and Pam have me hungry for birthday cake. I'm a sucker for that icing, too.

Coco, congratulations to you on losing 2 more lbs. That's very inspiring about your WW colleague's being down 91 lbs.

Falafel is ground chickpeas with seasonings. The mush is made into balls which are fried crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. It is served with tahini and vegetables either on a salad plate or in a pita. It is the sandwich of the middle east...spiced with cumin, parsley, garlic and lemon....it just transports me back to Israel when I eat it.

Google it and you'll find lots of recipes...not core really, but it is chickpea so not absolutely awful....and tahini is sesame...so, see, it's healthy!

Hi everyone. Its snowing once again. UGH! With the warm weather we were having, I was starting to see dirt. But, once again, its covered with snow. The good news weather wise, its going to be 40-50 this weekend. I hope most of the snow goes. Its getting tiring. I did manage to walk our dog this afternoon before it got too bad. Foodwise, I'm doing well. WI is tomorrow. I will be down, the question is how much. Up until this morning, my scale was moving steadily down. This morning it was up a bit. I've been drinking tons and tons of water. Not much else I can do.

Coco, congrats on the loss! Thats great.

Sloan, glad to see you posting again. Congrats on getting within 5 pds of your goal. Great job!

Maryann, I would use 50 as a goal. But 32 points does seem really high. I'm 5-10 and work a sedentary job. I get 23 points a day, If I spread the 35 across each day its 28 total. Have you tried the Wendie plan? Also, try to focus on high fiber foods. The more fiber and the lower the fat, the fewer points. Also, how is your water intake? Are you drinking 6-8 glasses a day? Just some thoughts to help you get back on track.

Sandra, congrats on your scores! WOO HOO.. DD was asking today when she could use her archery set. Unfortunatly, not for some time to come.

Vickie - congrats on your loss. A loss is a loss! How are you handleing the jenny food? I hope its palitable.

Pam - glad you had a nice dinner. Outback is yummy and easy to stay on program. We've gone there a couple times, but both times in Maine. I'm not sure where there is one close to us, I'll have to look into it.

Well, its bath night. Also, dd and I got her bday party invitations ready to be mailed. Just need to get stamps tomorrow. Her party is at a gym in town -- 20 5-6 year olds are invited. At least its not in my house!

Have a good night.

BLESSEDWITHSARAH Know what you mean about the snow. But alot of places around here. Still have alot of ice in the parking areas and driveways. We had some snow this morn. And it just made it a little worse then the sun came out. Did melt some. But not enough. I think the way the talk we are to get some snow tonight. Just hope it isnt too bad in the morn. Hubby has a DR's appt.

Good Morning Ladies:)

Another day at home, the plows didn't come last night and our driveway & street to our complex in unplowed. Not worried as we have enough food in our pantry and our fireplace insert is keeping us warm.

PAM-To me 32 pts =1600 wasn't bad,but now I down to 30=1500. The reason I say it isn't ,its because when I was going to the WW meetings, my leader told me to stay on the points that I had on the quiz,20pts. I gained and stalled for the 13 weeks on the Flex Plan, than I switched to the Core[13weeks] and did lot better losing 3 lbs the first week and than a .5 & .8,but than the losing stopped and the gaining started again. After going to the meetings for 6 months I should have lost a lot. Now I'm trying a new method by going up higher on the point system. My friends on the SB board are losing nicely, but that diet doesn't work for me.I guess everyone is different, but I know I can't go lower than 1400 c.

VICKIE-Congrats on your weight loss. How you doing with Jeanny Craig plan?????Do you like it,asking as I might follow the same suit if the calorie counting doesn't work.

SLOAN-Oh How cute a new little puppy, best of luck with your new addition.Congrats on losing those holiday pounds and having 5 more to go should be trilling. Can't want until I get to my goal also but that's a long way I haven't hit my first 10%. Gee!! I love the weather to change and get warmer so I can walk along the beach again.

COCO-Thanks for your kinds words on my gain.It could be water in the joints with all the exercising I'm doing.Thought that spring was here when I first saw the grass, but I was wrong winter returned with the new white stuff. That's what I thought about the points =50 but I got a good resource from another lady that works for WW saying 30-90 cal=1pt.[considering fiber & fat].and in UK its 70 c per pt. IF I'M WRONG MAYBE ANYONE GOING TO A MEETING CAN ASKED THERE LEADERS,if its true or not.

SANDRA-Maybe I should use my old tracker that I got in 2000 to track instead of using my point calculator that I purchased last year.

RHONDA-Thanks for sharing the Falafel recipe. Sounds yummy, but I would have to change the beans as I'm allergic to chick & northern beans. I break out into a rash.

PAULA-Thanks for I'm eating around 25-30 fibers a day[now I see that a person my age should have 21-38 per day]according to my Metamucil calculator, and I'm drinking 96 oz of water a day and I'm 5 feet tall, and I'm moderate a the exercising dept.Like I told Pam I have to find the right amounts of pts or calorie,to low I gain and too many I gain have to find a in between.

Have a great morning, have to start my chores

Maryann, one thought on points that you should be aware of if you do continue with the 32 points. (The Math major in me is coming out!) If the item is high fibre it could be up to 100 calories! I ordered some vitatops from the Vitalicious.com site last night. The muffin tops are all 100 caloires, low fat and 5+ grams of fiber. They come out at 1 point each. So, if you average out low and high fiber items you could be at about 60 calories for each point. That would be at 1920 calories per day. At the high end 3200 calories, now end if you go with 50 is 1600. That may explain your gain. If you goal is to be at 1600 calories per day, at 32 points and high fiber food you could easily have doubled that. If you average 60 calories per point, then 1600 calories per day would be 26 points == an no additional 35 wpas. Hope this helps!!

OK, was just playing with the point calculator on ww online. 20 calories, 2 g fat and 0 fiber is 1 point, so is 100 calories, 0 fat and 5 fiber.

Paula, the end of this month the Texas Archery in the Schools Program is having the state championship for kids from 5th grade and up. There are over 400 expected to participate. A good friend of ours is the head of the program and has asked us to come watch. We're going to on our way to a national championship. Those kids are always inspiring. It's wonderful seeing them in their school colors shooting for trophies. They seem to all have a great time.

It's 50ish here today. We've had a lot of bird activity, so I've already put out a gallon of seeds. I'll prob put out more later. Right now I'm watching meadowlarks and a woodpecker--and I just finished a WW TV dinner for lunch. Life is good.

Maryann, I say use what works best for you. I lost before when I used my old points calculator. That's why I'm still using it. I don't add extra fiber to foods so I don't think it hurts to count whatever fiber grams are already in them. I heard some folks were adding fiber to about everything so they could eat more and that was why WW capped @ 4 grams.

Coco, would you tell me what your first name is? I am curious. If you'd rather not say here in public, would you PM me?

:woohoo: Paula. Congratulations on losing.

Thanks Ladies for you help,

PAULA- I going to keep that in mind,I had those muffin tops last week.I still don't understand how the fiber in foods brings the calories up, when add more fiber brings the points down??? The reason I look for high fiber foods to keep my colon healthy,as my mom & dad both had colon cancer.

SANDRA-Going to start using the 60 cal per point system and that would bring my pts to 25 -1500 cal per day.and use my old tracker calculated more than 4 fibers.

Thanks again for you help.

Mary Ann, I hope you won't think I'm a "know-it-all", because I'm not. It seems like you are changing what you are trying to follow every week. Why don't you pick a program or a point level and just stick with it for about a month. I certainly have been forced to learn about patience. When I was on Core and following it faithfully, I used to have a couple of small loses in a row or even a small gain and then I'd have a big loss. But, it involved sticking with it for 3 or 4 weeks. That's how my older, nearly menopausal body seems to operate. Try to give yourself a chance to be successful. If I were you and I wanted to stay on WW, I'd figure out what they think my point level should be and then I'd weigh and measure simply filling/Core foods for about a month and see what happens. That just my humble opinion, from a girl who can eventually lose it but who can't keep it off!

Sandra, you really do make life sound good! I'm glad you're enjoying the granddaughters and your new home. And, you are really enjoying your archery which I'm sure is helping to keep you out of eating trouble. Thanks for reminding me to celebrate my losses.....no matter how small.

Rhonda, you go girl! I'm glad you had your favorite food. I'm already missing burgers and pizza. I'm eating the JC equivalents and it's helping some.

Hi Paula! You are doing awesome since you've been back on plan. 2.8 is nearly beyond my wildest dreams. Great for you! :cp::hat::dance::cb:We haven't seen dirt here in a long time. We're hoping to see some this weekend though. I'm happy you're doing well. Smart decision to not have that many kids in your house for DD's birthday! I hope it's a great day for her. I loved your information on the fiber issue. It must be that WW figures if you eat high fiber, you'll eat less because you'll be full so the higher calories will average out? I'm not a math major but I LOVE figuring that kind of stuff out.

Pam, good for you! Gotta find out what works for you. I used to get 30 points on WW without my WPA's. It depends on how much weight you have to lose.

Sloan, it's always great to hear from you! Congratulations on your new puppy. Mine is going to be 7 in April but I still think of her as my puppy.

Coco, Congratulations on your outstanding loss of 2 pounds! :bravo: You've really been doing great lately. I'm very proud of you.

Time for me to go eat my yogurt and grape nuts! I tell you....on JC I'm eating almost every 2-3 hours. I'm still trying all their food and have found a couple of items that are great, some good and some I'd never eat again. But....you find that with every program. I'm confident that I'll find enough things to keep me going for a while.

Talk to you all later!

Good Morning Ladies:)

Oh!! do I feel 100% better now that the migraine is gone.I had them several times during menopause, but since than I haven't experienced thaving the.
I giuess it was a fluke of some kind.

I'm really ecstatic about my weight loss of 3 lbs. I owe it to the extra exercising that I doing every day either on the treadmill or stationary bike, that brought the figures on the scale down. I think I going to stay on the the 25-27 point range, which is the 1500-1620 on the 60 cals a point theory.

COCO-Thanks I would appreciate if I could know from a leader about the point value than from a web site.Sorry about you head aches do you get migraines also??? They are so painful and annoying. Thanks for the congrats, hopefully I will be on a roll and lose this poundage shortly .My headache is better,Don't have to wear my sun glasses in the house anymore.

VICKIE-We 're in the single digits also. Can wait until it warms up a little as we have been house bound since Tuesday.Happy to hear the JC is working for you, with the few changes and that's a plus to have a counselor to report to.Exercising helps also, 4 days a week is excellent.

Mary Ann, I hope you won't think I'm a "know-it-all", because I'm not. It seems like you are changing what you are trying to follow every week. Why don't you pick a program or a point level and just stick with it for about a month.Oh No!! I don;'t think that at all,I love coming to this tread with you wonderful caring ladies. You correct, and I'm going to start to follow with one plan and see what happens. Thanks for pointing that out to me.I didn't even realize I was doing that.

Thanks for the congrats on my loss and your well wishes.

PAM-Thanks for you congrats,it was a surprise to me to see the loss that even If was feeling well I had to report my loss. Good for you that your stayed the same & didn't see a gain. Hope you DH gets good results on the stress test.

SLOANE-Thanks for congrats also, and I agree with Vickie & you I should have seen what I was doing with multiple plans,I guess I was just so frustrated with all the gaining,I didn't see it at the time. Seems like you're extremely happy with the puppy, and I know she'll give the love back.

Good Morning Chicks!

Rhonda, you make me laugh! Sometimes you just have to splurge. My problem always is that I don't stop. I hope you had fun and I'm really glad that you let yourself enjoy it. I think that's important!

I'm worried about Angela too. She hasn't been here in forever.....and I saved the link from her ice cream shop and it's closed. Argghhhh.....this economy is killing everyone.

I'm off to my day. Have a great one!

Good morning. I can't believe I didn't get here yesterday. Guess I had a senior moment or something. We are seeing dirt here and are feeling it, too. it's windy today (40 mph gusts) and I feel dirty just from walking outside a few minutes. Oh, well, days like today make us appreciate the calmer days more.

I lost this week. Life is good.

Vickie, I am so happy for you. Sounds like JC may be just what you were looking for. The adjustments you made should really help. You're wise not to overdo it with the exercise. My motto is "Just keep moving." And that's what I try to do.

Rhonda, you're a hoot. I'm not worried about you. You'll do all right now that the celebrations are behind you. (Or should I say "on your behind"?) Sorry, I couldn't help but tease you, Cuz. Seriously, you'll be all right. I am always proud of the way you can get back op quickly. I seem to get stalled somewhere and keep digging my hole deeper.

Coco, I hope your dh's eyes don't get worse. Bless his heart. Seems he has one problem after another, doesn't it? I hope he's not depressed and is in good spirits.

Pam, we're coming to KY next month to Louisville for the NFAA National Indoor Archery Championship. Beautiful area!

Maryann, congratulations on losing those 3 lbs. I'll bet you're smiling ear to ear.

Hi everyone. Where in the world did the week go? I can't believe its Friday already. Thankfully its going to warm up this weekend!! WOOHOO. I hope that the snow melts enough to start seeing some ground. Its been too too long to have snow cover. This has not been anything near a normal winter for us.

Foodwise, I'm doing really well and feeling good. I think my additional exercises are helping how I'm feeling. I'm not as achy in the am - sometimes I feel well beyond my 43 years.

Vickie -- I am glad you doing well on Jenny. You seem very motivated!

Hi Ladies:)

I went to one of my other WW boards and I found a woman posting this about water.

Ok, I went to my meeting last night and as you all probably know they've changed the water requirements to liquid requirements. So now all liquids count (except alcohol). The meeting last night was about how water doesn't make you feel full and how water is not a magic pill that will make you lose weight.

Now I know water is not a magic pill - no magic allowed just less calories in than out. But I'm not convinced yet that water doesn't make me feel full and I'm not convinced that drinking 6 cups of coffee/tea will have the same effect as 6 cups of water.

Its something to think about. How many ounces of water do you drink. I'm up to 80 oz Leo thinks I drinking too much and suggest to go down to the 64 oz per day. What are your thoughts.????Do you think hes right????

Thanks ladies for the congrats I was beaming and I couldn't believe the scale. Hope it stays that way for Monday's official W-I.

Vickie
02-06-2009, 02:52 PM
Mary Ann, I drink 64 ounces a day but I do NOT like water and that was a big accomplishment for me. If I could drink more, I would. When you eat high fiber you NEED water to avoid constipation and to flush out the fat and fiber. I wouldn't cut back if I were you. I also drink 24 ounces of decaf black coffee, 12 ounces of decaf diet pepsi, and 12 ounces of decaf tea. That's a total of 112 ounces a day. If I drink less good things do NOT happen, if you know what I mean!

Thanks, Paula! I am motivated. Now it just needs to keep up. I'm enjoying being lazy about cooking. All I have to cook every couple of days is my homemade applesauce because I'm an applesauce snob and fresh steamed veggies every night. If we ate canned or frozen veggies it would be even easier. We're trying to cut back on the sodium. Hi I'm Vickie....I'm a salt addict!

Sandra, I watched HGTV while on the treadmill but I listened and sang to my Wicked Soundtrack at the top of my lungs. The dog left and Jim was shopping so it was ok. Suffice it to say that I do NOT have a good voice.

Time for lunch. I just did 21 minutes for .58 miles. Small but better than nothing. Gotta keep the ankles and knees out of pain.

Maryann, if you drink more water than your body needs, it will simply pass through you. I've never heard that drinking water slows weight loss in any way. Just don't drink a ton before you wi! I have a glass at my desk that is probably 32 ounces. IN the office I fill this 5-6 times a day. So, 160-192 ounces in the office. Then at home I drink 2-3 large glasses between dinner and watching TV.

Dear Lord, Paula! That's the advantage of being young. If I drank that much water, I'd just have to STAY in the bathroom!

Evening Everyone
Just thought I would get back on here for a few. Before I wont be able too.

BEACHBUM On most days I probably drink between 64oz to 80 oz of water. A cup of tea and 2 cups of decaf coffee and a glass of Crystal Light. But I dont always get in all the water. Especially if we are running around. I do carry water with me all the time. Hope your weigh in on Monday is great.

VICKIE Glad you are warming up. It was nice here too. The wind was still cold. But the sun was so warm. I know I have to watch how late at night I drink. Or else I am up a good bit of the night. And then I dont feel like I got any rest. Congrats for the 21 minutes on the treadmill. That is great.

BLESSEDWITHSARAH Maybe I need to get to exercising. I know when I get up in the morning. I am achy. And by the time I go to bed I am. Old age is catching up with me. Have a great weekend.

ONTARGET Yes I will miss getting on here. So hopefully they will only need tomorrow to do their upgrade. Or whatever they are doing. Then will probably have bugs to work out. So will talk to you later.

HI to everyone else.
Well I am going to get off here for now.

Live in the bathroom?! I think I do already. One of these days I'm going to do an input/output study on myself just out of curiousity.

Congrats to this week's losers. I can't claim that, but I did get right back in control today. I'm going to a conference in Florida next week and will have to face those food challenges.

Our dog Jake is in the vet clinic. He is anemic. We'll know the results of about $1000. worth of tests tomorrow. But, I fear that the medication he needs for the arthritis is hurting his insides. We see no sign of internal bleeding, but it must be there. I am extremely attached to Jake, and big, tough DH is just about in tears. Oh my. :(

Good Morning Ladies:)

I'm coming down with something I think of doctoring myself up I have to go to my doctor on Monday and fine out why I can't sleep, feeling nauseous, and other symptoms that I had this week. I had a symptoms book and would you know I can't find it anywhere. So doctor here I come.

VICKIE-I'm going to stick to a total of liquids of 80 per day that includes 2 [16oz] mugs decaf teas,16oz flavored water for dinner & supper 32 plain water in between the two meals & 16 oz after exercising at night,= to 80 oz per day.

Sorry about your headaches, has the doctor ever told you why you have a smokey smell when you have the headaches????

PAULA-That's a quote from a woman on another board that said they discussed the topic at her WW meeting, that water wasn't magic bullet.Don't go to the meeting anymore so I really don't know. I'm going to keep to the 80oz-1/2 my weight theory, and leave it at that.

COCO-Thats what I thought 64 -80 oz is enough along with other liquids during the day. I just brought the subject up to see what you guys were doing with water intake.

RHONDA-WOW! Sorry that your dog is hurting, hope the meds will give him relieve from the pain. Sending you :dust: for you Fla conference next week.

Hi ladies. Too much to catch up on. You girls were chatty yesterday.

Went shopping and ended up with a couple pj sets and a pr. of jeans. I'm short and it's hard to find the short sizes. Had a great time. Ate too much and not such good choices, but back on plan today.

Rhonda, hope Jake will be fine.

Oh my, I'm trying to remember what I read. I think you all were discussing water. I don't drink enough. I go in spurts. I guess you check your urine color. Pale is best. The darker, the more water you need.

Suppose to get close to 70 here today. What a nice change from the cold we've all had recently.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Hi All:

The news from the vet is bad. Jake has a large and diffuse cancer in his chest. It's not really treatable so we are managing symptoms with meds. The vet says that he has only a few weeks.

I will go to Florida and hopefully I can get back home earlier that we originally planned. DH will stay here with Jake.

We're sad, of course. But, we'll focus on the good. I discovered Jake over ten years ago when someone was taking him to the pound. I brought him home and my dog Anna mothered him. She died last year and this past year has been good for Jake. He has also been a good pal for DH as I went off to work.

We're really sad that Jake won't get his chance to chase amardillos when we move back to Texas!

Rhonda, I'm so sorry to hear the news on Jake. Our Josh is our first baby - we got him 11 years ago when he was just a puppy. My heart is breaking for you.

It was warmer here - not quite Pam's 70! We were in the 40's all day and tomorrow should be close to 50. The snow is still holding on, but the piles are getting lower. I am starting to see this odd green stuff in a few areas - oh wait, now I remember, its grass!

We just got back from dinner - went to a bbq place. I had plan on getting a nice steak and they have a grilled ceaser salad. Well, no. Ended up going with a brisket rubin on texas toast. Needless to say, it was in no way near on plan. But it was sooooo good. I feel way too stuffed. I'm not even going to attempt to log it in on line. Tomorrow is a new day.

Not much going on here. Church in the am and then I'm going to make a veggie soup for the week. Maybe I'll get in my 3 mile walk if the roads continue to thaw. Its been about a month since I've done that walk. When's spring???

Well, got to get dd out of the tub. Have a great night everyone.

Good Morning Chicks! My scale seems to be moving in the right direction and so I hope that my official weigh in tomorrow will be better than it has been for the last two weeks. I will have exercised for 5 days, even though it was very slow and easy. I believe it will help.

I didn't enjoy my entree so well last night but it wasn't awful. It's promising to be warmish and sunny today so I'm happy for that. I slept 10 hours last night and feel as if the headache might finally be gone for this time.

Hi everyone. Its close to 50 today. Went out for a 45 minute walk and then played with dd in the back yard. We still have about a foot of snow on the ground, but its getting lower. It was great to be out and not freezing. I'm back on track today -- I must say, as yummy as that sandwich was last night, I'm not used to the amount of fat that was in it. The texas toast was nicly buttered and toasted, and then there were the onion strings and french fries. My tummy was not so hot this morning.

I did make a nice pot of veggie soup (0 points per serving). Its my clean out the fridge soup. Came out yummy, so I had that for lunch today and will have it for lunch all week.

Vickie -- good luck tomorrow. Let us know how you make out.

Not much to add today.

I did get out for a walk with Jake this afternoon. I should go out again on my own so I can go at a faster pace than his arthritis allows him. Although this morning when he chased a squirrel in the backyard, you wouldn't know he had a care in the world :)

Hi Everyone
Well today I had a salad. And I know it probably wasnt Core.
It was a cranberry walnut salad. Does anyone know if you could make this core. It had lettuce, cabbage, walnuts, cranberries (dried), feta cheese, mandarin oranges. And then some kind of raspberry dressing.
It was really good. Hubby had one too. And he liked it also. Came with our meal. I was thinking cranberry walnut salad. Jello with cranberries and walnuts. Got a surprise when they brought it to us.
Or let me know where to look for a recipe.
Oh I got a new cookbook today. It is called Fix It and Forget It Light crock pot cookbook. Seems to have alot of good sound recipes in it. Now I will have to go through and see how many are core though.

Coco, I have the Fix it and Forget it cookbook. I've had it for a few years, there are some really good recipes. I had to lighten them up on my own, I may need to look for the light one. One of my weaknesses is buying cookbooks. I love them, love to read them and get ideas.

Sandra, what do you mean rest the chicken before dredging? Courious minds..... I have been pounding my chicken breasts before cooking. I find I can feed the 3 of us on 2 breasts if I cut them in 1/2 then pound then flat.

Rhonda, glad Jake is doing well today. When do you head to FLA? Maybe he'll surprise everyone and be around for a while. Your love will make the difference.

Had a great dinner tonight, went to our regular sunday night place. They had a baked Baraumundi salad. Never had Baramundi before, the waitress said it was an Australian white fish. It was baked and served on a field green salad. The fish then had a mango salsa on top and the salad was topped with a balsamic vinegar reduction. It was very, very good. Point wise (adding in my wine and the 2 motzerlla sticks I had) was 11 points, I still have about 4 left to go. Much better meal choice tonight.

Well, going to watch tv and relax. Have a good night.

No, Sandy, this was not a movie and dinner night...just dinner. My friend made "50's food" she called it. Not one Core dish there! I ate anyway, and had a good time.

DH took Jake out tonight and says they had fun. Jake has been off his food so I cooked bacon and put it in his dry food, pouring grease over the top...he loved it of course.

I leave for Florida on Tuesday morning...going to an academic administrators conference in Orlando...I've never been there, but think I'll pass on Disney!

Good Morning Chicks! I've got a busy day today but wanted to stop in an say hello. My mammogram is this morning, followed by my weigh in, and a stock up trip at Super Walmart. Sheesh, I'm tired already. I exercised 5 times this week so it's pretty good although only 20-22 minutes each at about 1.8 mph. I'll increase as I can.

Sandra, you're cute! Did the resting keep your "batter" on the chicken? I miss cornmeal chicken. Maybe someday I can learn to eat it in moderation again. The entree I didn't care for was penne pasta. I liked it all except for the soy crumbles. A few of the entrees have the soy crumbles and I'm not liking them so much. I'm also not a big oregano girl so that's a factor for me too. I'll eat it again if I get bored enough.

Paula, your meal sounds wonderful. I'd never heard of that fish either. I'm just learning about seafood and don't have a large assortment of those I'm wiling to eat without tasting first.

Coco, I'm a cookbook addict too...probably because I'm a food addict. I just went through and got rid of some recently because I was running out of room. My speciality is healthy and WW cookbooks.

Rhonda, Hmmmm......50's food means the food of my youth. Yum. Sweet of you to cook for Jake. I'd do the same thing if it were me. I'd rather got to the movie parks than Disney...but I think I don't want to go because I'm too fat.
