Hi lovelies!

I really, really want my washing machine NOW. Washing is already starting to pile up and I cannot wait till Friday when I can start clearing it. Come on Friday!

It was a good day today. Awesome workout and work wasn't too bad. I had one client go NATO at me, but that's life really. The weigh in is looking promisng for tomorrow - I seem to be down another 2 lbs, making it a 7 lb loss for the month. By my standards that's fantastic!

I was thinking about what I've accomplished in January. Yeah, there's the 7 lb loss, but I've got myself back into an exercise routine and it's a habit. I can't say I enjoy exercise, but I am getting a sense of accomplishment out of it. My eating is around 90% on target - yes, there are times when I could have made better choices, but that's life. So, it's been a fantastic start to the year. Long may it continue!

Beverley, hope you had fun with your friends!

MJ, you're having a bit of a tough run at the moment. Hope you're feeling better soon!

Jen, hope you didn't have to do too much work. There's nothing worse than having to go in on your day off.

Lottie, go you for paying off the bill! I love that feeling!

Shout outs to everyone else!

The menu today was:

B - English muffin with vegemite

S - boiled egg

S - blueberries

L - lamb salad filled roll

S - laughing cow wedge

D - leftovers - lamb, baked potato, carrots, broccoli, peas.

Have an awesome day, everyone!

Good morning ladies :)

I made it through yesterday with one substitution. I didn't have the ricotta creme at the end of the day, instead I had pepperjack cheese and pepperoni as a second afternoon snack - it took me longer at work than I expected and by the time I got home and started making supper my tummy was growling and it was going to be about an hour and a half til supper was ready. Overall I felt good about the day. I did about 45 mins total of exercise instead of the 30 I'd planned and it felt great!

Today's plan:
Bfast: 1/2 wrap: low carb/high fiber wrap with thin and trim turkey, pepperjack cheese, feta cheese, spinach, mustard
Snack: peach Fage yogurt
Lunch: leftover chicken divan
Snack: apple and 1/8 cup sunflower seeds
Supper: low carb meatloaf made with TVP, ground turkey and lean ground pork, fresh brussel sprouts
Snack: chocolate ricotta creme with unsweetened whipped cream

60+ oz water
After work I will put together the meatloaf and while that's in the oven I will do a minimum of 15 minutes walking on the treadmill and 5-10 minutes of upper body work with the stretchy band.

I wish you all a happy, healthy Monday :)

02-02-2009, 08:50 AM
Good morning Friends,

After a less than stellar week of eating, the scales were not smiling this morning. I've decided to focus on the calories and exercise this week and relax a little on what I'm eating. Once I get the calorie count in-line and the exercise re-started, I'll focus on packing in the most nutritious food possible.

I have two more reports due by tomorrow, then things at work should be back to a normal 40 hour work week. I won't have a convenient excuse to not exercise anymore. ;)

Have a great on-plan day.

02-02-2009, 09:01 AM
As I just posted on my facebook, I am feeling surprisingly upbeat for a Monday. Here's hoping that means this will be a great week. The weather looks nice this morning, but it's due to start raining later and then the cold air comes back and looks like more snow. The kids are hoping and so am I, but not for the same thing!

Greetings jeniansmom! That looks like a SB menu plan to me.
Hey Rhonda, hope things ease up after your reports are done. Sometimes we just have to focus on one thing at a time.
Sounds like you had a great January nicolen, good for you! 7 lbs in a month is excellent. But the exercise is even more impressive to me!

Here's my day:
B: oatmeal breakfast bars, coffee with milk
S: turkey bacon, cheese stick, raw cauliflower
L: chicken divan
S: skim latte, bean brownie
D: tofu stir fry, salad
S: peanut butter cup dessert

Hope your week and month is off to a great start!

02-02-2009, 10:29 AM
Hi chicks - ready to start a good week. We had so much fun with friends last night watching the Super Bowl. One friend brought the 3D glasses - what a hoot. ;)

For today:

track food
lots of water
stretches and strengthening
put fork down between bites

breakfast - cheese toast, 1/2 banana
lunch - turkey and cheese sandwich, carrots
snack -apple
dinner -white chili, crackers
snack - peanut butter toast, hot sf cocoa

Nicolen - down 7 pounds for the month is awesome!!! :carrot::carrot: Yes, it would be hard living without a washing machine.
Schmoodle - glad you are starting the month upbeat. :D Sign of good things!
Rhonda - keep pushing forward. :) You've had alot to do for work. I know you can put it all together.
jeniasmom - glad to hear you had such a good day :). 45 minutes of exercise is impressive!! :D

Have a great day, folks.

Hi, ladies! I eat according to plan, this week it has 4 protein days, and 3 protein + vegetables. Breakfast - 0.1% fat yoghurt + oat bran; black coffee (no sugar, 0.1% milk)
Midmorning snack - egg white omelette, paneer (from skimmed milk) filling, tea
Lunch - egg white omellette, chicken filling (plain boiled chicken meat with spices), "mayo sub" sauce (skimmed yoghurt, spices, a touch of sugar and oil-free mustard, fennel, parsley)
Snack - another omelette with paneer
Snack 2 - home-made chicken broth with spices
Dinner - omelette with fish filling and the fake mayo sauce
2 litres of water (part of it in tea); 1 jelly-yoghurt or mousse (sugar-free)
12 000 steps walking
1 hour or so on the figure trimmer twist disc (I do it while I am watching a film on the laptop)

On the protein-and-vegetable days I add green salads, sea wrack, home-made sushi (without the rice)
Er... that is the plan in a perfect world... Hope I can stick to it lol

Good luck with our weight-loss!

02-02-2009, 11:25 AM
Hi everyone! I don't have time for personals right now (hopefully I'll get back later to do them!) I had to take Ellie-Mae to the vet this morning to get her teeth cleaned and maybe one pulled. Poor little thing! She is going to feel icky when I pick her up later, but will be glad to be home! I am home w/ Casey (who is VERY sad), so I need to go snuggle up w/ her.

My knee feels better! Phew, so glad I can finally say that!!!! I did not do well w/ food this weekend. I know it was related to my knee pain and frustration about not feeling well. So, new month, new week--fresh start (again). I know I can do this. I WILL do this!!!

Have a great day!

02-02-2009, 01:22 PM
Guess what I am doing right now? I just finished BREAKFAST!

B No sugar PB sammich, banana and tes
L ham and chese and fiber crackers
D turkey meatball and veggie soup with sandwich

work calls...........

02-02-2009, 01:46 PM
nicolen, good job with the exercise!

here's todays menu:

b: fiber one muffin (no cholesterol), 2 strips bacon
l: chicken nuggets and eggroll
s: 1/4 cup cottage cheese, 1 serv triscuits and 5 cherry flavored prunes
s: banana, 5 cherry flavored prunes
d: oatmeal pancake, 2 slices of bacon and multi grain english muffin

I noticed that on the weekends I"m really REALLY good with not really eating a lot of processed foods. But mon-thurs I tend to eat at least one "quick" meal because of school. I think when we have more groceries I will start making premade 'real' food so I can eat quick before class.

Maybe just make a little extra of dinner the night before and box it up. hmmm. this sounds like a good idea.

02-02-2009, 02:58 PM
We've been without electricity since Tuesday of last week. So this is what Ive had, and I am darn proud of myself for not letting this make me go off plan! Woo hoo!

Ive been eating:
warmed up caned beans & tomatoes (kind of yuck)
boiled eggs, mostly the whites
peanut butter & crackers
a baked potato and salad at Wendys one night

The power still isnt on, so wish me luck ladies for keeping on plan during our rough time. We are blessed in so many ways even though we sit in the dark at night and have to heat with kerosene. I am thankful to the Lord for all of our blessings and that I have been able to stay on plan.

02-02-2009, 03:40 PM
Mug that is AMAZING that you are doing so well under such difficult circumstances and keeping your outlook positive! Way to go girl, nothing can stop you! I sure hope you have power back soon.

02-02-2009, 04:02 PM
Nicole: Sounds like you have made a lot of progress during January --- good for you! I bet you continue with that strong trend in February. You know, we could all chip in and get you a nice washboard for your laundry. I bet washing clothes like that would burn some calories (and give you “washboard abs,” too!)

Jen: You did great with your plan yesterday! Great way to step into the new week. Your meatloaf recipe looks interesting, but what is TVP? And I am impressed with how you plan exactly when and how to work that exercise in --- you’re in for a good week!

Rhonda: I hear ya! I feel like every time I get a handle on one part of this whole weight loss deal, some other part heads for the hills. It’s like herding cats. But you have been keeping on track overall and your numbers show it. Sling those reports out to the boss, flex your ever-tightening muscles with some exercise and those fat pounds will soon be looking for a new home.

Schmoodle: Hey, hey! You look all bright and shiny this morning. So what were you up to all weekend that put such a wicked grin on your face, hmmmm? LOL By the way, this newbie salutes your 70 pounds long gone --- HIGH FIVE! Have a good Monday, yourself!

Beverly: So were the 3D commercials worth all the hype? Sounds like you and the crew had a good time with the game --- and that is really what it’s all about. Here’s to a new month and a new week filled with good choices and hot men … uh… where the heck did that come from?

Fractal: Yours looks like an interesting plan. With all that protein, you are today’s designated tough gal --- so when one of us is having trouble evicting some free-loading pound of fat, we holler for you and you muscle that fat right on out the door. (How do you feel about black leather, shades and combat boots?)

MJ5: Hey, I am so glad to hear that your knee is doing better --- it is hard to do anything when you hurt like that. But you are just in time to jump into fabulous February with both feet (and 2 cooperating knees!) So come on and join the conga line --- da da da da da KICK --- and let’s see how many pounds we can evict this month.

RedFlame: Breakfast? Good for you! Let us know if it makes a difference in your overall eating or if it changes your mornings in a positive way or if it turns out you really didn’t need breakfast. Hope you have a good week!

Lottie: Ah, that is a very clever idea. You are definitely out-thinking those scheming pounds of fat --- smart lady! Funny, though --- I have no trouble eating well during the week but the weekends are a real challenge (because everyone’s schedule gets tossed to the winds). Let us know how the new lunch idea works out.

MugCanDoIt: OK, the rest of us can stop kvetching about how hard this all is! WOW! Super amazingly excellent for staying on plan under BATTLE conditions, for crying out loud! Good for you, lady! Stay safe and warm! WOW!

B: 2 whole wheat toast with laughing cow, 2 V8
S: missed it!
L: salad with lots of veggies, olive oil and balsamic vinegar
S: apple
D: pork chops, baked rosemary carrots and potatos, salad

I am getting a late start today --- I do so hate Mondays -- but I hope everyone is having a great day!

02-02-2009, 04:21 PM

LOLLOLOLOL... Actually, I am quite enjoying it - does that make me a closet masochist? :carrot:

The egg white omlette is my latest discovery, and considering I have been on this plan for over a year, the fun is not so much in eating the stuff as in experimenting - I must confess it sounds weird at times. But what the heck... I just try to do what I must, and pray I will get where I want to be... eventually...

02-02-2009, 04:47 PM
Mugcandoit------FANTASTIC attitude! I have never been more than 5 days without electricity........we had a great time reading books outloud, and playing card games. You ARE blessed, and even more so that you can identify that.

Does this seem like a fantastic start to a new month, anyone? It seems like it to me. Only one half day so far, but I am OP, I do so desperatly need to start my day off with something other than coffee or tea--yet I always go back to my old habits, and then the weight loss stops. I am proud of myself for packing up meal supplies for the week at work (instant organic oatmeal, almonds, banana, no sugar PB, bread, lean ham, cheese) I feel like I can conquor the world......or at least my tiny little corner.

Has anyone had the Arizon teas? YOu know they are bottled even in gallon sized. I found the tea bags for green tea with honey and ginsing...........they are delightful! there really is a little honey taste! I have had 3 cups already today. The box was 2.99 for 20 bags, think I might get another. They also had one with pomegranate, and another berry one too, but I do like my green teas.

Hmmm as I type my rings flip around on my fingers.........thats a good thing

want to respond to everyones posts, but have not the time right now---down my front desk person and as it is it has taken me 40 minutes to post this much! OI!

Hey everyone!

How are we all today? For me, I'm OK. My workout was, well, I thought it was average, but maybe that's because I'm comparing it to the last couple of workouts which went really well.

Things are pretty much cruising for me. I'm trying not to get complacent here and am tracking like a mad thing, but at the moment it seems so easy. That feeling won't last forever, so I've got to make sure I stay focussed.

Jen, go you with the exercise! That's awesome!

Rhonda, we all have bad weeks, it's those that realise when they've slipped that are the stars for not giving up!

Schmoodle, you're having a rough time with the weather! Hopefully it'll improve soon for you!

Beverley, I'm pleased you had a great nightw with your friends. Excuse my ignorance, but what's white chili? Is it chili made with white meat?

Fractal, welcome aboard. You live in one of my favourite cities in the world - I adored Cardiff when I visited the UK about 6 years ago and could very easily go back!

MJ, how fantastic that your knees feeling better! Of course you can do this!

Redflame, new month, new start! I like that a lot!

Lottie, I know what you mean about going for the easy option during the week. I've had to be organised - I cook a double portion on Sunday night and have the leftovers on Monday since it's usually a rough day at work. If I didn't, it would either be a takeaway or similar for dinner...

Mug, no power for a week! You poor thing - I hope it comes back soon!

Numina, I think I'll pass on the washboard, but thanks for the offer! ;)

The menu today was:

B - English muffin, vegemite

S - blueberries

S - muesli bar

L - lamb salad roll, laughing cow wedge

D - To be decided...

Have an awesome day, guys!

02-03-2009, 08:50 AM
Good morning ladies :)

Yesterday was another good day except I didn't get in enough water. I was busy at work and kept forgetting to drink and then I fell asleep on the couch so I didn't manage to get the rest of it in before bed. Exercise was good though - my biceps hurt from Sunday so I skipped the upper body work but did an extra 10 minutes on the treadmill. I forgot how good it feels to work out!

Today's plan:

Bfast: other half of yesterday's wrap
Snack: apple and rf cheese stick
Lunch: leftover chicken divan
Snack: peach Fage yogurt and 1/4 cup of mixed nuts
Supper: leftover meatloaf and green beans
Snack: chocolate ricotta creme with unsweetened whipped cream

I have to work late tonight, but I will do 15 minutes of Wii Fit when I get home.

I WILL drink 60+ oz of water today!

Nicole - awesome month! Exercise is my hardest thing so I am way impressed with you for making it a habit.

Rhonda - I hope the reports go well, look likes a good plan for getting back on track.

Schmoodle - here's hoping your week is a great one :) I borrow a lot from SB - my type 2 diabetes demands a fairly low carb diet to keep my blood sugar in line. I scour the SB forum for recipes all the time. I also borrow from the Insulin Resistance Diet by linking whatever carbs I eat with protein.

Beverlyjoy - glad you had so much fun watching the game! It's fun to do things like that with friends,

mj5 - here's to a better week and month! So glad the knee is feeling better.

lottie - it's just me and my husband eating what I make most nights, our son is a super picky eater and pretty much has totally different meals from us - a habit I'm chipping away at. But I eat lots of leftovers for lunches - quicker than making something each day and since I plan healthy suppers, I know I'm having a healthy lunch :)

mugcandoit - yikes! I hope your power is back soon. You've been doing an amazing job in tough circumstances.

Numina - thank you :) Exercise is my hardest thing so if I don't put it into my plan it's easy to make excuses to not do it. TVP is textured vegetable protein. I get it at Whole Foods. I use it in place of bread/bread crumbs in the meatloaf. I tried a recipe that used ground walnuts once but I got a migraine from it and after doing research I found out that nuts in large quantity are a common migraine trigger especially when doing low carb.

For the TVP meatloaf I can't remember if I found the original recipe here or on another website, but I just make a basic meatloaf and use the TVP instead of bread. I put a little tomato sauce in the mix too to moisten it along with eggs, spices, pre-cooked onion, bell pepper, carrots. Then when the meatloaf is almost done I pour more tomato sauce over the top for a glaze. DH really likes it. I make it with ground turkey b/c it's healthier than ground beef but I still use the ground pork for the flavor.

Redflame - so cool about the rings, sounds like the start to a great month for you!

Happy Healthy Tuesday to one and all,
Off to work for me

02-03-2009, 09:21 AM

Hi everyone! Yesterday when I was at home I realized that I have been kind of half-hearted w/ a lot of things lately--work: I've been working hard, but going in so many directions I don't feel like I have been giving anything really focused attention; my appearance: I sort-of do my hair and make-up, but not as much as I was; workouts: well, we all know what has been going on there ;) I think it all goes hand in hand....(well, maybe not the work part, but the rest)....so starting today, I took the time to REALLY do my hair and make up, dressed a little nicer, etc. I will do a good workout tonight at the gym as well. I know it will all make a difference!

Rhonda--Sounds like a good plan!

nicolen--Great month!!!!

Schmoodle--Yea for an OP day!!!!

Beverlyjoy--Me too! Here's to a good week!

lottie--great idea w/ trying to make more 'real' food. That happens to me sometimes, too, life just gets in the way sometimes!

mug--It sounds like you have been doing awesome!! I hope your power gets back on soon!

Numina--I'm in!!!

jeniansmom--It does feel good to work out, doesn' it? Are you drinking your water today???

Have a great OP day everyone!

my puppy picture........that is unless I continue to have computer problems!

02-03-2009, 04:42 PM
Hey Chickies!

Waterton--I just got three of the BL videos, and I have even taken the cellophane off of them......but I have not started. As soon as the kids figure out where they put that remote I will though!

Lottie-"Im Melting......." I take it your are shedding inches, and not a witch from Wizard of Oz!

Knobhdy--grilled tofu? I have not tried that, sounds interesting, I wonder if I am that daring.

MJ--I know what you mean about half hearted attempts at everything ----and it always seems like we put our appearance last, I feel so much better with hair and makeup done properly, but the makeup is often left to be done while driving......I dont take the time for myself

Schmoodle--everytime I read your name I think Poodle Smooches!

Jeniansmom--Do you like the wii fit? I have considered it, but that is as far as I got

Bev--sounds like your plan is set up for success

Mug--I sure hope your power is on soon, but great job at making what you have work on your plan

Lottie--eating out can be disasterous for me! But I am very lucky with a son who tries to get dinner ready every week night when I am working

Fractal--I read the word "perfect" in your post, No one is perfect, success does not require perfect, it requires that we try!

Nicolen- White bean chili is wonderful, white navy beans, chicken breast, broth, mild green chilis and onions, some finishes with monterey jack cheese and sour cream, but some recipes dont. Recipezaar has some great recipes for white chili

Rhonda--focus one thing at a time, you have proven that you can get right back on track!

Hope I did not miss anyone!

Breakfast Yes that is two days in a row! Peanut butter toast and a banana 460 cals
Lunch roast chicken 2 ounces, fiber crackers, colby jack cheese, 290 cals
Snack almonds
Dinner, soup and salad and cottage cheese 550 cals

Roughly 1400 cals planned

02-03-2009, 04:51 PM

Lottie-"Im Melting......." I take it your are shedding inches, and not a witch from Wizard of Oz!

hehe, I wish inches, not yet, not for awhile, even though my pants fit better and my waist looks MUCH smaller. it's confusing. anyhow, I have lost 2 lbs so far this week! :D

02-03-2009, 04:54 PM
Redflame--What a cutie!!!! Breakfast two days in a row, great job! Makeup while driving, now that's a scary thought!

I am seriously thinking about a haircut...a big change, but I don't know if I am brave enough....we'll see. I don't even have an appt yet, so who knows how many times I will change my mind before I actually make the appt!!! LOL! Have you seen the cover of Glamour--Eva Longoria. My hair is curly and could actually do what hers is doing on the cover....not sure I want it that short, though....

02-03-2009, 07:40 PM
Hi, ladies! Well done on the plans!
Thanks for the welcome, Nicolen, MJ5
I stuck to the routine, added some more fish and made some yoghurt with gelatine for dessert for tomorrow.
Redflame - yeah... not trying to be perfect, just hoping not to stray dangerously often (mostly by skipping exercise).
Didn't weigh myself today (I usually used to do this every day but lately have reduced it to every second or third day - I have mechanical scales which, on top of being much less sensitive, don't show pounds but kilogrammes so have to wait longer to see my weight change; oh well, can live with that as long as it goes down lol).

02-04-2009, 02:09 AM
Hey everyone,

OK, things came crashing down with a vengeance today! In our team meeting I got the prize for the best performer of the month last month :carrot: which was chocolate. And I ate it for afternoon tea instead of my blueberries. Then after work I had to go to the mall to buy birthday cards for the team birthdays for the year - actually, since when did I become the social committee for the team? Hmm, might have to do something about that. Anyway, I ended up getting dinner there. Walked past the sushi and subway and straight to the Chinese. I didn't even make a good choice there - lemon chicken and fried rice. Go me. OK, that's done and I can't do anything about it now. Tomorrow is another day, right?

Funny story - we got an email today about the gym next door to work. This is the gym that's supposed to be going in ever since we moved into the buildings 3 years ago. They're opening and are marketing themselves towards a, shall we say more exclusive market. Their advertising states that they're only 7 minutes drive from Cashmere (very expensive suburb) and Fendalton (most expensive real estate in town). Their prices are twice what I'm paying at my gym - and that's the discounted rate. Given that the gym is located deep in an industrial estate with very limited parking and the economic situation at the moment, I'm not expecting it to last too long...

Jen, fair enough for missing the upper body workout. Better to take it gently rather than do yourself an injury.

Schmoodle, how are you doing?

MJ, good for you! How was the workout?

Beverley, hope things calm down for you soon!

Knobhdy, welcome aboard! I'm looking forward to getting to know you!

Lottie, go you with the Wicked Witch impersonations! I mean that in the nicest possible way you realise! ;)

Waterton, welcome to you as well!

Redflame, your new baby is such a cutie! I want one! Thanks for the info about the chili - here chili tends to be based around minced beef and sometimes a couple of cans of red kidney beans are thrown in to the mix. I might have to have a look on Recipezaar for some recipes at some stage...

Fractal, my scale weighs in kilos, pounds and stone. I post my weight in pounds here because that's what most people around here use and understand and my personal record as kilos.

OK, so the really bad menu for the day was:

B - English muffin, vegemite

S - muesli bar

L - chicken teriyaki, rice, vege stirfry

S - chocolate bar.

D - lemon chicken, fried rice.

Must do better.

Have fun everyone!

Happy Hump Day :)

Well it's almost hump day for me as I'm working Saturday morning too this week. Yesterday was day 3 back on track and it was a good day. I followed my plan including water.

Today's plan:

Bfast: 1/2 wrap
Snack: Fage yogurt, cheese stick
Lunch: the last of the leftover chicken divan
Snack: apple and sunflower seeds
Supper: a yummy low carb chili (the original recipe is veggie but I add ground turkey and a some linguica - yummy!)
Snack: chocolate ricotta creme with unsweetened whipped cream

60+oz of water
I will have the house to myself for awhile this evening so I will do one of my 1/2 hour Leslie Sansone tapes.

Nicole: you're right, today is a new day, don't beat yourself up about the past.

fractal - great job staying on your plan :)

lottie - 2lbs so far - whoohoo!

Redflame - yay for you and breakfast! I do like the Wii Fit. I don't think I would like it as my only choice of exercise, but it's fun and my son enjoys the balance games - downhill skiing, skii jumping, etc. Those games were fun at a Wii party too. I really like the step aerobics and the boxing and the hulahoop though I have to limit how much hulahoop I do as I end up in pain! I haven't done much with the strength training or the yoga. Your puppy is adorable!

Waterton - good for you for changing your eating habits :)

knobhdy - great job planning and packing!

Beverlyjoy - what's pma?

mj5 - it's easy to get complacent about a lot of things isn't it? It's great to take stock and recommit from time to time. Good for you! And I did get all my water in yesterday - thanks for asking :)

Schmoodle - yay for being on plan Tuesday!

Happy Healthy Wednesday everyone! :)

Hi friends - boy, it seems like I haven't had time for touching base in a day or two. I am moving forward with hope. Here's my plan.

Yes, the 3D glasses worked for the commercial after half time of the super bowl. It seemed like a few things were actually in front of the tv screen in mid air.

I will put my fork down between bite
I will drink lots of water
I will do my stretches and strengthening
I will try to feel hunger and fullness
I will do my meditations
I will try to love myself even though I hate my relationship with food at this time
I will try to stay positive

breakfast - peanut butter toast, boca bacon, applesauce
lunch - soup, cheese toast, celery
snack - apple
dinner - lentil and sausage soup, green beans
snack - cinn. toast.

jeniasmom - wonderful to have 3 days on plan. Go girl! PMA is positive mental attitude.

nicolen - ya know...sometimes we eat extra or make a choice that's not the one we think we should have. You've been doing great. HOP back into your plan and routine. YOu'll be OK.

Welcome fractal! I am glad you've stayed with your routine. Carry on.

MJ - did you get a short hair cut?? So happy your knee is feeling better.

Lottie - down two pounds Yippeeee! Good for you.

Redflame - good plan. Carry on! Your puppy is SO cute.

Welcome waterton girl - glad you posted. Good plan!

Mug - did you get your power yet??? Hope so.

knobhdy - good for you, packing your lunch. That will really help. Welcome!
Glad you posted.

Schmoodle - hi - dig deep and try to carry on.

Have a great day friends.

Here's my recipe for White Chicken Chili. It's so delish and easy.

White Chicken Chili
Makes 4-6 servings

1-3 tablespoons olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1-2 cloves garlic, chopped ( or 1 tsp. Garlic powder)
1 can (4-ounces) chopped green chilies, drained
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 cans (16 ounces) Great Northern Beans
1 can (14.5 ounces) chicken broth - low salt
1 1/2 cups finely chopped cooked chicken breast
Shredded Monterey Jack cheese (optional) -lowfat
Sour cream (optional) lowfat or fat free
Salsa (optional)

In large skillet, cook onion in oil for 4 minutes or until transparent. Add chopped garlic or garlic powder in the last 2 minutes. Add chilies, flour and cumin; cook and stir for 2 minutes. Add beans and chicken broth; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer for 10 minutes or until thickened. Add chicken; cook until hot. Garnish with cheese, sour cream and salsa, if desired.

I always double this recipe!! Folks love it.

PS - My SIL makes this recipe with ground turkey instead of cooked chicken.

Good morning chicks, I'm gnawing away at my cold pork chop breakfast. It's one of my favorite ways to start the day - times have sure changed, used to be Pop Tarts! The kids are on 2-hr delay (AGAIN) this morning so I cooked them eggs, bacon, and toast, but I just didn't feel like eggs for myself.

I've got Good Morning America on, and they just had a very depressing report about lifestyle factors and aging. They were comparing twins with different lifestyles - stay away from the sun, don't smoke, yada-yada, but the twins were different weights and the fatter ones were always judged to look younger. Well, that's something I've discovered for myself. My friends used to complain that they were getting wrinkes and I wasn't. Once I started losing weight, I discovered I was getting them all along, they were just well hidden.

I was on-plan yesterday, hooray! Here's today:
B: Pork chop, stir fry veggies, coffee with milk
S: chocolate cheesecake smoothie
L: chicken divan
S: skim latte, bean brownie
D: Beef Stew (no potatoes, lots of veggies), roasted cauli, sauteed cabbage
S: NSA pudding cup

I think I'll add that white chili to my menu next week. I haven't made that in a long time and it sure sounds good.

mj, I know what you mean, I am in the mood for new hair too. I always said once I lost the weight I'd cut my hair short again. I had it short a long time ago and loved it, but I thought I'd look like a pinhead when I was so big. Hmmm, maybe for summer....
Have a great day BeverlyJoy! Thanks for the recipe.
nicolen, don't beat yourself up, and don't weigh. You'll be up from all the salt anyway. Just drink lots of water and get right back on track lady!
fractal, my scale is not digital and only shows lbs., I like it that way. It's too easy to obsess on every ounce!
redflame, cute puppy!
knobhdy, Have a great hump day!
watertowngirl, one step at a time! Good job on the food.
lottie, great job on the 2 lbs. already!
jenian'smom, Glad you are having a good week so far!
numina, thanks! As a matter of fact I did have a wickedly fun weekend. I'm sure that explains my positive outlook this week. Mom kept the kids at her house Friday night, wink, wink.
Hope I got everybody in there! This thread is hopping lately!
Wonder where Lyn's been?

Hello everyone --- sorry I missed posting yesterday.

MJ5: It’s hard to give 100% all the time, so everybody has times when they sort of “float.” It’s good you noticed and are gearing back up, though. I bet you will kick some serious FatNasty behind for the rest of the week.

Knobhdy: Two lunch days in a row! Good for you --- I have a lot of trouble with planning so admire you folks that have a handle on it. Keep up the good work!

Lottie: 2 pounds evicted already this week? WA-HOOOOO! Whatever you are doing, child, keep doing it! Good for you!

Waterton: Looks like you are doing really well with planning your eating. Good for you on getting all that water down --- I have a lot of trouble with that. How does it feel to be taking control?

RedFlame: Breakfast two days in a row? You are doing great! Can you feel a difference during your morning – more energy or better concentration?

Fractal: You are doing great with the food! By the way, I like your name! My kid is a real math person and the idea of fractals really enchanted him. His particular favorites are the Mandelbrots. Are you math people too?

NicoleN: Ok, so naughty Nicole came out for a while and made some bad choices. It’s going to happen. The cool thing is you are already all over it and aren’t letting one day of bad choices derail you from all the good you have been doing. You are still on track! And you will do just find today! And congrats on the award, even if it was chocolate.

Jen: Wow, you are doing really well! I hear you about that water thing --- I try to drink 2 liters too and it is pretty tough. But you are doing the exercising and making good food choices --- the water will fall in place too.

BeverlyJoy: I love reading about your last daily snack: cocoa and cinnamon toast. Yum! (At least sometimes you have the cocoa.) Sounds so warm and cozy! And thanks for the recipe! Glad you enjoyed the Superbowl – or at least the commercials.

Schmoodle: Wrinkles, huh? Sigh. Oh well --- better to have wrinkles and good health than smooth skin and heart attacks, etc. Besides, maybe we will be the exceptions! LOL Hey! Did you know that there is soluble fiber in your latte? Cool, huh?

I am having a little trouble with this thread because I seldom know in the morning what I am having that night for dinner. Most of what I used to cook was pretty high calorie and high fat, so I am slowly learning new recipes --- mostly from the Internet. Anyway, today:

B: cheerios, V8
S: grapefruit
L: salad, WW toast with Laughing Cow
S: apple
D: unknown :D

Everybody have a great OP day --- lots of good choices for a healthier us!

02-04-2009, 12:12 PM
Morning all!

Well yesterday I did pretty well. Stuck to my plan right up until I got home from work. I was still hungry so I snarfed down some cucumber and celery with some ranch dip (it's full fat, but I cut it by 1/2 with fat free sour cream) and a few slices of cheese. The snack was pretty healthy....problem is I had it like an hour before I went to bed :S

Onward and upward!

Redflame - Let me know what you think of the dvd's, which ones did you get?
nicolen, jeniansmom, beverlyjoy, schmoodle, and numina - thanks for the warm welcome! And to numina - it definately feels good to take some control lol.

Plan for today:
breakie - 1/2c egg beaters and 1 piece toast with becel
snack - 1/2 apple-pear
lunch - 100g salad greens with flax italian dressing and 1 piece toast with becel
snack - 200g celery and cucumber with 1/2 fat ranch dip
dinner - 100g chicken with 200 g veggies (brussel sprouts, peas)
snack - 100 calorie pack of peakfreans shortbread cookies

1 litre fresh water, 1 litre of water in the form of soda water and tea

I hope everyone has a terrific day!!

02-04-2009, 12:28 PM
Hi everyone! Super busy today, as usual! I started my day by going to the jail to screen some people for our residential program at work.....

Now I MUST finish Annual Reports/Summaries today. ICK! I have a late meeting today--this should be the last one for this committee! YEA!

I AM going to the gym. Dh is taking care of dinner (yippee!).

When I get home we are making a grocery list. I finally went through some of my Rachel Ray magazines and picked out a few new recipes to try...we'll see how they come out this weekend!

Have a great OP day everyone!

02-04-2009, 03:20 PM
waterongirl, do you know of a fat free sour cream that doesnt' look gross and lumpy when you mix it up? and kind of watery...(no it hadn't gone bad!) *LOL*

thanks everyone on the congrats! Hope you are all doing well.

schmoodle good job on the no pop tarts. :D

breakfast: 2 eggs, 2slices bacon, multi grain english muffin
l: whole wheat pita "pizza"
s: apple, no cholesterol fiber one muffin, prunes
d: 8oz turkey breast, 2 serv peas and 1 cup brown rice

02-04-2009, 05:41 PM
Hey Lottie :)

I really like lucerne for fat free sour cream :)

02-04-2009, 07:17 PM
Daisy is my choice for FF sour cream!

ahhhh crappage.....I had something else to add, and I lost it...........

OH! MJ I just hate it when my day starts off at the jail!

me thinks me is pretty funny~

02-05-2009, 03:04 AM
Hi Guys,

Much, much better day today and my washing machine arrives tomorrow morning! Yay! Now I just need to do some housework between now and then so they can, you know, actually get it into the laundry. At least the hosuework will be done for the weekend.

Long weekend this weekend due to Waitangi Day tomorrow. The gym doesn't open until the afternoon so the timing works well - I can hang about here waiting for the washing machine to be delivered and still get my workout in. Win win!

I met with my trainer after work instead of Friday morning due to the public holiday and boy, did she work me hard. She did make a comment about how I'm very right side dominant - no lie there. I'm quite literally the most right handed person you'll ever meet. My left side is a bit weaker than the right side of my body, so we're going to do some work on strengthening it. Could be ... interesting.

Jen, go you with the exercise and the water. Awesome!

Beverley, I'm still loving the affirmations. Keep it up! And thanks for the recipe - I'm definitely trying that some time soon!

Schmoodle, I read somewhere in many of the weight loss books/sites/anything else you can think of that I've read that you should eat similar food for breakfast as you eat for the rest of the day. Obviously it works for you, so why not!

Numina, I'm actually enjoying cooking more now than I was. I'm having so much fun trying new foods and finding new ways to cook old favourites that it's just become fun rather than the old story of what can I prepare in as short a time as possible...

Waterton, don't worry about the snack. You could have made a far worse choice than you did...

MJ, yay for no more late meetings!

Lottie, you're doing so very well.

Redflame, I hate it when that happens. And if you're like me you'll remember what you were going to say at some stupid time in the wee small hours...

So the menu today was:

B - toast, vegemite, cheese

S - celery sticks, laughing cow wedge

L - ham and salad roll

S - muesli bar.

D - stir fry - chicken, broccoli, stir fry mix, rice.

Much much better.

Have fun everyone!

02-05-2009, 08:24 AM
Yesterday was great until it wasn't. I was wicked tired when I got home and didn't feel like doing anything - didn't exercise or make supper and took DH up on his offer to bring home fast food.

Things went well at the Dr's office. My A1C wasn't stellar b/c I took so much "time off" over the holidays, but overall she as pleased. It was much better than it was the last time I saw her 2 years ago. She was thrilled with my weight loss. All my other numbers are perfect - cholesterol, blood pressure, etc. We talked about the dizzy spells I get when I go from squatting/bending over to standing. Since I'm getting enough water she suggested ingesting a bit more salt as I eat a very low sodium diet.

I'll be 37 this year, so I haven't quite hit the 40 milestone, but my mother passed away of ovarian cancer at age 55. So to be on the safe side she is going to have me have a baseline mammogram early. I go tomorrow to have the girls flattened. I hope that doesn't make them sag anymore than they already do ;)

I napped on the couch and then stayed up too late with DH last night, so I'm wicked tired still - our sleep patterns have been all out of whack since he's been out of work. So I think I'm going to cut myself some slack again today. I feel like I'm fighting a cold and I just want to rest a lot. So the plan for today:

Bfast: other 1/2 of yesterday's wrap
Snack: Mixed nuts and yogurt
Second snack (I'm leaving work at 1 so I won't eat lunch til I get home): If I'm hungry before I leave work I'll have an apple and a cheesestick.
We're having a one year anniversary celebration for one of the girls at work so I will eat 1 of the "two bite" scones I bought for the celebration.
When I get home I will make some fried eggs with Ezekial toast
Snack: cauliflower and hummus
Supper: chili that didn't get made yesterday that DH will make today
Snack: chocolate ricotta creme with unsweetened whipped cream

I will drink my water.
I will decide how I'm feeling this afternoon about exercise. I will try to do at least do 15 minutes of Wii Fit and do something more strenuous if I feel up to it.

Will catch up on personals this afternoon or tomorrow.
Happy Healthy Thursday to one and all.

02-05-2009, 09:02 AM
Hi Friends. I've come back out of hiding to face this weight loss thing again. Three steps forward and two steps back. At least I'm making progress!:dizzy:

I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel on my job. Looks like I can now start working normal hours and not the 60+ hour weeks. No more convenient excuses to avoid the treadmill!

Today's plan: I'm tracking on TDP again. Today's limit is 1800 calories. I can eat anything I want, but it must stay within 1800 calories. I also have a date with the treadmill. One hour of sweat equity.

Nicolen, sweat is sweat. We don't need no stinkin' fancy dancy gym! ;)
Schmoodle - I'm not looking foward to losing my natural wrinkle filler.

Have a great on-plan day, everyone.

02-05-2009, 09:09 AM
Hey chicks! On-plan again yesterday, go me. I've dropped a couple of those pesky pounds I regained over Christmas, but not enough to move my ticker yet (yes, it is lying a little, but it breaks my heart to move it up). Can't wait to get back to losing virgin weight again.

Now I am getting excited because we have a lapse between our contract expiration and renewal so it is illegal for me to work on any of my projects, probably for all of next week. I've got some training and busy work that I can stretch out over a couple of days, but then I think I'll take a few days off. I've been making a list of stuff I'd like to get done, and it's already a mile long, but I included some fun stuff too. I'm going to try to set up a couple of lunches with friends, and some clothes shopping, maybe see a movie in the afternoon just because I can. If that contract gets awarded really fast then I am going to be totally depressed! It's government though, so it shouldn't happen that way. My company is not happy to have us all on overhead for a week it but I sure am, and I am a team player, using my leave so they don't have to pay me.

Here's today:
B: beef stew, coffee with milk
S: cheese stick
L: stir fried veggies, hard boiled egg
S: latte, bean brownie
D: chili over sauteed cabbage
S: NSA pudding cup

jeniansmom, glad you had a good check-up! DH is type II diabetes and he eats what I eat. South Beach has been the best thing that every happened to his blood sugar levels. He just had a physical earlier this week for work, so it wasn't his regular doctor, and they were very surprised to hear he had diabetes, there was no trace of sugar in his urine and his blood sugar levels were great.
nicolen, what is Waitangi Day? I love my dinner-breakfasts. I rarely eat breakfast food anymore, sometimes an omelet or a whole grain waffle, that's about it.
lottie, I don't use the fat free, I don't like it, so I just get reduced fat.
mj, that must have been interesting at the jail! Have fun trying your recipes out!
numina, where is the fiber coming from in my latte?
Waterton girl, if it makes you feel any better, ranch dressings are made with soy or canola oil (healthy monounsaturated fats) and are low sugar, so that is not a bad choice at all. We need some fat to keep us satisfied. I have a snack before bed almost every night, I really don't think it matters so much when you eat, it all comes down to calories in and calories out for the day.

ETA: Hi Rhonda! We missed you!

02-05-2009, 09:46 AM
Nicole: How often do you work with the trainer? Do they advise you on cardio as well as weights? I hope the new washer works out well (if only they would add a video machine to the front of them to make laundry interesting, eh?) Send me some of those “likes cooking” vibes, ok? :D

Jen: Way cool on those medical numbers! WOOT! I don’t know what A1C is though. I am not overly fond of mammograms, but they sure beat the alternative. And with over 50 pounds of weight Adios’ed, I can understand why your doctor was happy about that! Great check up!

Rhonda: I have an hour of treadmill in my future today, too. I will send you lots of strong sweaty thoughts if you do the same back --- LOL. I know you are going to have an OP day today because you sound pretty darn determined about it. Those silly Fat Pounds won’t know what hit them!

Schmoodle: “Losing virgin weight…” Thanks for starting my day out with THAT image! ROTFL The fiber is actually in the coffee --- you can read a blurb about it here: http://archive.supermarketguru.com/page.cfm/32835. I hope you get your mini-vacation!

I had a very sluggish day yesterday and we all were in bed by 8:30. I think maybe we aren't really over this flu thing yet. Also, I had regular cereal for breakfast and I starved the whole day. Not an experiment to repeat!

B: oatmeal, V8
S: grapefruit
L: Salad, toast with laughing cow
S: apple
D: tomato soup with ham/cheese grilled sandwiches, I just won't eat a sandwich

So, are we ready for Thursday? Everybody got their water bottle? OK! Let's conga line out of here and into a very OP day!

:carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot:

02-05-2009, 11:01 AM
Good Morning! I am SO ready for the weekend! No big plans, other than doing some cooking. I have my recipes and grocery list ready to go!

Redflame--The REALLY funny part is my co-worker and I couldn't figure out how to work the doors at the jail...we were almost stuck there! LOL!

nicolen--Yea for the long weekend AND the new washing machine!!! Keep up the great work.

jeniansmom--Great news at the drs appt yesterday! Ok, so exercise and dinner weren't so great, but today is a new day, right?! I stayed up too late last night too w/ dh. I had my baseline mammo last year since I don't know my bio-mom's hx. It wasn't as bad as I thought...good thing to get out of the way!

Rhonda--Yea she's back! And yea for time to workout! Of course, having the time, means we have to do it! ;)

Schmoodle--Good for you!!! I think it's great that you can take some time for yourself for a change!!! Actually it was pretty interesting at the jail--and kind of sad how many inmates I saw that I knew...

Numina--Yep, I have my water bottle!

Yesterday was an 'ok' day food wise. I know I could have done a LOT better.

Have a great OP day everyone!

02-05-2009, 12:06 PM
I have no idea what I'm eating today!!!

I'm going grocery shopping wiht a diet buddy soon. We're going to eat lunch out, but since I have my daily plate app for my phone I feel confident I'll make a good choice. :)

Also, who else thinks grocery shopping when you are eating healthy is like buying new toys!?!?

02-05-2009, 01:06 PM
Good morning all!!

Yesterday went pretty well for me, stuck to my plan. I know that I'm doing well right now, it'll become challenging later when I start craving stuff lol!

Todays plan is:
Breakie: 1 piece of toast with PB and a banana
Snack: 1 Apple
Lunch: Tuna Salad and Peas on Toast
Snack: 100 calorie pack of cheese nips and yogurt
Dinner: Low sodium roast veggie and chicken soup
Snack: Celery with sour cream dip

Lottie: I love to go grocery shopping!

02-06-2009, 02:22 AM
Hi everyone!

I love public holidays. My washing machine arrived around 11 this morning and is fantastic. I've still got several loads of washing left, but yay, I can wash again! And the housework is all done! I'm going to have a cruisy weekend, I think!

Another hot one here. I made it to the gym but didn't stay very long - it was just too stuffy in there so I just did 25 minutes and called it a day. Tomorrow's going to be lovely, but Sunday they're picking will get to around 35. I've got the fans on in every room - they're needed.

Tomorrow, I'm going to the gym early and meeting some friends for brunch. I am going to be good - they do a fantastic fresh fruit salad, and with all the wonderful fruit about at the moment, it sounds like a good choice.

Jen, hope you're feeling better soon and that this cold doesn't eventuate!

Rhonda, nothing wrong with 3 steps forward, 2 back. It's still progress!

Schmoodle, Waitangi Day is our national day, I guess would be the best description. The Treaty of Waitangi was signed between the Crown and the Tangata Whenua (Maori) in 1840. It's a little bit controversial because it wasn't translated correctly into Maori and also because not all Maori tribes signed it. It's quite a political hot potato - there's an article on Wikipedia if you want an overview. You enjoy your few days break!

Numina, sending you the good cooking vibes! I work out with the trainer for 30 minutes a week. I go to the gym 5 days a week for an hour at a time. We've mainly done weights when we're together and I'll do weights on another day during the week.

MJ, quiet weekends are sometimes fantastic, aren't they?

Lottie, agree with you about grocery shopping! It's fun!

Waterton, you're doing fantastic! Keep it up!

Todays menu was:

B - English muffin with vegemite

S - apple

L - chicken salad roll

S - greengage plum

D - chicken, rice, steamed asparagus, broccoli, peas.

I started typing this and then Mum rang, so apologies for any typos. I'm typing one handed while talking.

Have fun, everyone!

02-06-2009, 08:52 AM
Hi chicks - yesterday was horrible :dizzy: - but, after posting my utter frustrations - I actually feel a bit better. I am so glad that everyday is a new beginning.

I am going to have lunch today with a long time friend that I only see a couple times a year.:D I am so excited to see her and catch up. I told her to pick a place with close parking (although I do have a handicapped placard). I can't wait to see her.

stretches and strengthening
lots of water
NO getting in the car to find frustration 'food'
put my fork down between each bite

breakfast - peanut butter toast, boca bacon, 1/2 banana
lunch - meeting a good friend. - something sensible
snack - applesauce and cheese
dinner. - chicken veggie soup, garlic toast
snack - honey toast, apple

Nicolen - hope you enjoyed your holiday. :) I looked it up on google. I understand how some of your native people think it's contraversial. I have Native American friends that don't celebrate Thanksgiving as a happy holiday for themselves. They see it as a day that symbolizes their way of life changed forever. Hooray for the new washing machine. :D:D

Jen - It's wonderful about your good lab numbers. :carrot::carrot:It's nice when doctors appreciate your efforts.

MJ - I am looking forward to the weekend too. :) Hang in there, friend. Did you get your reports done?

Rhonda - I am so glad you'll have more time for working out.:D

Numina - I hope you are all feeling better today. It's hard when you are feeling sick.

Schmoodle - enjoy this break time!! :D Yay on losing two pounds!:carrot::carrot:

waterton - so glad you're doing well. YAY.:)

lottie - although it's expensive these day - yes grocery shopping is fun.:)

Hi redflame - have a great day.:)
I hope I didn't forget anyone.

Make it the best day you can.

02-06-2009, 09:29 AM
Everybody wearing their red today? I had to borrow a sweatshirt from DH because I don't wear red. Today will be busy. My govt customers know they probably won't be able to call or email me next week (it's actually illegal if we're not under contract), so I expect lots of tying up loose ends today. I need to take the cat to the vet this afternoon, and DD has Girl Scout Thinking Day this evening, then pizza at my mom's.

Glad you are feeling better today BeverlyJoy! You CAN do this!
nicolen, mmmm fruit, I can't wait until we get some good stuff around here. I just realized the other day how little fruit I've been eating lately. Frozen and dried, that's about it. Can't wait for the strawberries!
Sounds like a lovely weekend mj... What recipes are you trying? If they turn out well, be sure to share!
numina, fiber in my coffee, who knew?
Hope you have a fun outing lottie.
Great plan Waterton Girl. One day at a time, right?
Rhonda, glad things will be easing up for you soon.
Happy Friday chicks!

ETA: oops forgot my plan!
B: oatmeal with blueberries, hard boiled egg, coffee with milk
S: chili with avocado
L: tofu stir fry
S: latte, cheese stick
D: African lentil peanut stew, spinach
S: NSA pudding cup

02-06-2009, 09:30 AM
MJ5: I am with you there --- bring on the weekend! Sometimes the best days are so good simply because they just happen. Have fun!

Lottie: I do try a lot more stuff, both products and recipes, when I am trying to eat healthier. Still, I don’t think I have as much fun shopping as you do --- are you by any chance shopping with your SO? (wink wink)

WatertonGirl: You are really doing well! And the theory is that at some point, this eating healthy becomes a habit, so hopefully that will help with the cravings. It’s possible! LOL

Nicolen: Anything that makes doing laundry more a pleasure than a chore is all right in my book. And since you have the housework all whipped for the weekend, you will have to come up with some more “interesting” weekend plans ---- enjoy!

BeverlyJoy: Hey – getting together with a friend is a great way to close down the week! You can gossip and get caught up with each other’s lives and team-evaluate all the cute young male waiters! Hope you have a great day!

Schmoodle: And why would we all be wearing red today? Are they running the bulls and we are supposed to be the moving targets? LOL Sounds like you have a busy day on tap -- have fun anyway!

I may run away from home for a while today, since our good weather is about to go back into winter. I will take food with me if I do!

B: oatmeal, V8,
S: grapefruit
L: salad, toast w/laughing cow
S: apple
D: chicken, brown rice, asparagus with honey/balsamic, salad

Yay! It's Friday! Hope everyone has a solid, OP day today ----

02-06-2009, 10:15 AM
numina, where are you located? Maybe I should have written Are all you American chicks wearing your red today? Today is the American Heart Association's Wear Red Day, to raise consciousness of the fight against heart disease in women. Here's a link if anyone's interested: http://www.goredforwomen.org/national_wear_red_day.aspx

Morning All!!

So I had my first little victory yesterday. A co-worker celebrated his 10 year anniversary with our company and cake was passed around. I passed on it and munched on celery sticks and dip instead! Yay me!!

Schmoodle: We are celebrating Thinking Day up here too! I'm forgoing the tea though...too much temptation this early in my journey lol

Plan for today:
Breakie: 1/2 c egg beaters, 1 piece of white toast with becel
Snack: apple
Lunch: 100g Salad with Italian dressing
Snack: 1/2 an Apple-Pear
Dinner: 120g Tuna Steak, 100g Zucchini
Snack: 100 calorie pack of shortbread cookies :D

Plus of course 2 litres of water - 1/2 of it fresh!

Have a fantastic day everyone!!

Numina, no it was a diet buddy actually! :D

So thanks to everyone who wished me happy shopping. I bought tons of whole foods. I don't think I bought anything processed cept for some lean pockets that are for my bf. (He takes them to work, doesnt' have much time to eat there.)

Also I had 150$ to spend and only spent 90!!!! I was shocked. Most of hte stuff I got was on sale, but still, "health food" is expensive but apparently "whole foods" are less so!

Hey chickies;

Friday is here, just about over for some of you already I imagine. I am so mentally tired I am certainly welcoming the weekend.

New washers, lack of contracts, fun shopping trips, days off, shorter hours, staying on plans, looking for healthy recipes........really sounds like everyone is doing well!

Girls, be kind to yourselves this weekend, allow yourselves to rest, be good to your body and your mind. Leave calories for the end of the day, so you dont have to beat yourself up for night snacking..........but best of all, love yourself!

Hi everyone! I have actually started to post here several times today and this is the first time I have actually made it!!!

Beverlyjoy--I am so glad you are feeling a bit better--every little bit helps! I hope you had a great time w/ your friend today! I haven't heard that the reports were rejected, so I consider that done!

Schmoodle--Yep, wearing red here! I will definitely share, if they turn out good! They are from Rachel Ray magazines--one is a beef stir fry, one is a mushroom pizza, and one is chicken and biscuits.

WatertonGirl--Great job!!!

lottie--Great job shopping!

Redflame--I'm w/ you...ready for the weekend! In fact, I am going to take care of some extra errands tonight, so I don't have to do them tomorrow!

Have a great OP evening everyone! Nothing exciting planned for tonight, just relax w/ dh and the dogs! Sounds good to me, though!

Hi everybody!

It's been a good day. I had a good workout at the gym and a good catch up with my friends for bruch. And I ordered the fruit salad and a waffle for my meal. It was a really nice time. The restaurant's very popular during the weekend, so towards the end of the meal, it felt a little like they were rushing us out as fast as they could.

Tomorrow is going to be a stinker here. They're now predicting 36, but have said they won't be surprised if it tops 40. So it's going to be a very quiet day for me staying out of the heat!

Beverly, hope you had a good catch up with your friend!

Schmoodle, sounds like you had a busy day there!

Numina, if you're planning on running away, I hear the Caribbean's nice at this time of year! ;)

Waterton, go you with passing up the cake! I'm not sure I could do that...

Lottie, awesome stuff with the savings there! That's some impressive shopping!

Redflame, you enjoy your weekend too!

MJ, sounds like a fantastic way to spend an evening!

The menu today was:

B - toast with vegemite and cheese

L - fresh fruit salad, waffle

S - carrot sticks and hummus

D - schnitzel, kumara (sweet potato) fries, salald, mushrooms.

Enjoy your day, guys!

Good Morning! I should be cleaning, but I HAD to pop in here first!!!

nicolen--Glad you had fun at brunch. Hope you survived the heat. Sounds like a day to sit in front of a fan w/ a book!

Last night was nice and relaxing, for a change! Today, nothing big planned...I need to get some cleaning and laundry done--the usual stuff. Also want to get veggies cut up for the week and ready to roast, that kind of stuff. I am making a new stir fry tonight...hope it's good.

I need to make sure I get all of my water in today--I do ok during the week, but struggle on the weekends for some reason....

Have a great OP day everyone!

Hi chicks, I did not do so well today, I am ashamed to say I ate some peanut M&Ms this afternoon. DD and I were running around and we had lunch at Quizno's but I only had a side salad and diet pepsi, and the rest of the turkey from inside her sub that she didn't finish. So feeling very virtuous, for some reason I decided I DESERVED that candy. This is such a pattern for me. I can face the big challenges, no problem - go to the buffet and stay on plan, go on vacation for a week and lose 2 lbs, it's AFTER I am successful, that sneaky little voice tells me I deserve a reward for being so strong. And my brain just turns off. I'd like to squish that little voice. Maybe I will try to focus on that image next time. Well, it's not the end of the world, the rest of the day has been on plan, and at least peanut M&Ms are relatively low glycemic for candy.

So today was busy but fun. We were up early so DD could volunteer to help at the Lion's Club breakfast. Then we went clothes shopping and then grocery shopping together. We hit a great sale and got some cute stuff. We fooled around with the Wii Fit for a while, and it told me I am a fatty McFatfat, and my Wii age is 58. Stupid Wii. Dinner is in the oven, and I think DD and I will go to see Coraline tonight and make a real girl's day of it, since DS and DH both have plans.

Here's my food:
B: scrambled eggs, French toast, turkey sausage, coffee with milk
L: side salad with turkey and ranch dressing, diet pepsi
S: peanut M&Ms
S2: skim mozzarella cheese stick, roasted cauliflower
D: chili with avocado,
S: faux chocolate blizzard, maybe a little popcorn with the movie

Tomorrow will be better.
Love the avatar Lottie! I always wonder when people say eating healthy is so expensive. How expensive are oatmeal and beans?
mj, sounds like a nice, low-key weekend. How was the stir fry? I have the same issue with water. It's part of my weekday routine, but since I am out of my routine, I sometimes just don't get around to filling that bottle on the weekend. I am also usually home working during the week, so it doesn't matter if I pee every five minutes. But if I am running on the weekend, that can be a real pain.
Stay cool nicolen! That is one of DH's hugest pet peeves, being rushed in a restaurant. He will always speak to the manager about this and the tip suffers greatly.
redflame, I hope you are finding your weekend rejuvenating.
Great job resisting the cake Waterton Girl! Hope you enjoyed thinking day!
