As suggested, (a good suggestion by the way!), I have started a Diet to Go thread so that all the information and questions can be in one place.
I started Diet to go in Jan. and as of today I have lost 7.4 lbs for the month! I'm super excited and really love the food I have been eating.
Hopefully this thread will take off and others will try Diet to Go!

yes, i'm excited too! Thanks! I should get my shipment today, so looking forward to seeing the numbers drop this week too. I did a few substitutions, so we'll see how they do with those. My Chalean Extreme should also be here soon, so I can start working out better.

Yay! Great idea on the thread...as the numbers on the scale go down, my motivation picks up. I can definitely see this plan as LONG-term as I enjoy the food very much. Diets just don't work when you can't see yourself doing this "forever." Still deciding on my favorite meal, tough pick. http://www.imageuploader1.info/image/BF/s.gif

So glad you started this thread! :)
I am loving the program. I do get a little hungry in between meals every now and then, so I have glass of milk in between and at night I have a cup of cocoa or a ChocoPerfection Low Carb chocolate bar. I am trying not to get into fruit because I know those kinds of carbs send my blood sugar crazy and it leads to more hunger. Sometimes I will have a string cheese, but not often. Doing very well and love love love the food! I just had the short ribs and that was to die for! OMG that was good! I can't believe the food they give us! I recently had the Andouille sausage and it was outrageously delicious! Huge sausage link that was truly decadent (and the artichoke hearts and the veggies were to die for that came with the Pork Chop I had last night)! The short ribs were incredible and the meat just fell apart! I love the sausage links they give you with the Western Omelet and the omelet itself is to die for (the links are huge)!
Can't wait until next week when we get Prime Rib. I am ordering an extra as a sub for the Turkey Meatloaf that is the only one I can't eat so far. This food is seriously incredible. The sauces they use really do make you feel that you are eating gourmet. I'm down 6 1/2 pounds in about 9 days. So far so good. The only thing that was odd this week is that two of the breakfasts were starting to defrost pretty good when I got the box (and it is freezing here and snowing). Some idiot put one block of dry ice in the far corner firmly under only two meals! Summer is going to be tricky if this can happen with one day shipping and dry ice. I was surprised to see anything even remotely start to defrost in this weather (I wonder how the people fare who live further out and shipping takes 3 days or so)! They said that they can put extra ice in the summer for us (good thing)! That was obviously a packaging error because you could tell by the way it was placed that it's not like it moved around or anything.
Anyway this has been basically a great experience so far! So jazzed to here these results from you guys! That's awesome! :carrot:

Hi Billie Joe....... well the tool tracer... is sort of reward for posting on this website ...... you have to be on the site for 30 days and post I forget how many times.. but go to the top of the thread way up at the top where you see the first time Diet to go Buddies... right below is a faint blue line that is tool bar.. on the left side is the initial CP.. clik on that and then clik on edit your signature.. The instructions are listed right there and follow them exactly and it works great.
If you get stuck just ask again and one of us will help.
Have fun making your tracker........

I agree with Princess, I had the sausage today for lunch and it was awesome and it was huge! I also love the short ribs. I've eaten short ribs my entire life, my mom makes a killer batch, so I wasn't sure how they would be but oh my, I substituted 2 of my meals so I could have extra short rib meals!
I actually was surprised when I had the turkey meatloaf, I really thought I wouldn't like it, but it was really good. I'm thinking of finding a recipe to make my own. Anyway, I start Chalean Extreme on Sunday, so we'll see what a combo of diet and exercise will do to the scale numbers.

I am so elated right now! I have lost 8 pounds so far in less than two weeks! The most amazing thing of all is that it wasn't painful or hard. The food makes me think I am doing take out! I was just looking at the other menu's they offer and was struck by how delicious the low fat and vegetarian plans look! I was curious about the vegetarian and can't believe how delicious and unusual and cool all the food looks! The Egg Quesadilla, Mushroom Ravioli and Noodle Kugel sounds incredible and each and every meal looks like some very high quality gourmet offering. I am thinking I will never get tired of this because not only can I go to the low fat plan which has food to die for but I can do the vegetarian which would be a really nice change of pace. All the food is so high quality and so delicious that I know every plan will be incredible. They give you five weeks of new and delicious food so I can change every 5 weeks to a different version and never get sick of anything and still lose weight!
I am sooooooooooo glad I found this place!!!! Cheeseheader, girl you will always hold a special place in my heart for coming here and telling us about this! I have no clue how I passed right over this place when I was doing all the research but for some reason I totally spaced and never checked it out.
So glad I did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :carrot:
P.S. By the way I have had a few nights where I ate a few of those rich milk chocolate Dove Chocolate Squares and they did nothing to derail me at all.

Welcome to high quality meal delivery :D. You know you've struck gold, when you look at fast food and pizza delivery, and go "nah, I've got alot better stuff in the freezer", or when you go out to eat, and realize that it isn't any better (alot of times not as good) as what you've got at home.

I love love love this diet! I was looking at the low fat plan and I see they have a 1600 calorie and a 1200 calorie plan. I wonder if some of the people who had trouble losing didn't get the 1600 by accident. I say this only because I can totally see that happening. I am going to talk to Diet To Go next week because I am going to switch after my fifth week on the Low Carb and go to the Low Fat menu for 5 weeks and then switch back.
The food looks so delicious on the low fat so I am excited to get all these new mouth watering selections! No other place has this where you can get all these new foods like this and never really get tired of the food! I used to get so darn mad when I was doing Jenny Craig because any time I asked about them ever getting anything new other than a soup or a bar, they would tell me to spice it up. Add more spices to the same tired food. I was insulted by that actually. I mean come on! I paid for Success Plus or whatever it's called, but I just could not face it again. It's one thing to get them through the door but you have to have viable plan to keep them coming back and that's where they are a disaster area. No matter how much will power you have, eating the same old food again and again and again will make anyone crazy.
I have three plans to choose from here and all will help me lose weight! I am going to do at least a couple of weeks of the vegetarian plan also because the food looks killer there too! Lots of choices! That's a major thing for a consumer like me. I NEED variety.
I've done Nutrisystems, JC, Pure Foods and a local plan that is no longer in existence and this one beats them all for me hands down. Very pleased!! :)
My husband is seriously thinking of joining now because he smells all the food and can't believe it's diet food (and sees me shrinking)! The Prime Rib and all the omelets are to die for! I am still getting my chocolate too (can't be without that)! :carrot:
If I find I am not losing much on the low fat, I will just go back to the low carb.

It really is pretty great food. I actually look forward to eating it! I haven't looked at the low fat yet, but I might have to look into that one as well. It's nice to have variety. A friend of mine is on nutrisystem and when I asked how does she fit everything in her freezer or fridge, she told me everything goes in the pantry!!! She has to add water or something to the food, she called it astronaut food. I don't think I could eat something that I had to add water to make it look like food! I told her about Diet to Go and she was surprised by a lot of the food we are eating.
PrincessDietMuch
02-02-2009, 08:36 PM
I could not handle the food from Nutrisystems. I tried but it was awful for me. I also had all kinds of gastrointestinal stuff that made me JUST SAY NO LOL! I think it's all the preservatives used to keep all that food shelf stable (that's what we call it here too..Nasa food). My brother did the diet and was OK with it, but I just could not deal with it. I loved some of Jenny Craig's food but again they don't have many meals to offer and after a while, you can't even look at your favorites anymore (plus they got rid of half of what was really the good stuff for some reason-they need to fire their marketing team).
It will take me a while to get sick of this place. I looked at the vegetarian menu and even that looks yummy! I thought I would also try that for a month too once I am done doing the low fat and then start all over again with the low carb. Actually I have always wanted to eat cleaner and know what it's like to do vegetarian food and this one actually makes it look like fun because the foods all look incredible! I love that they have three plans with 5 weeks of different menu's. I have absolutely no interest in even trying Bistro so I will stick it out here and see how it goes.
I am trying to have a cup of hot cocoa in place of the chocolate bar and that seems to be keeping me satisfied at night. Nothing like watching the snow outside and sipping a cup of steaming hot chocolate! Mmmmmm! :)

As a footnote the only complaint I have is that there's too much chicken. It's good chicken but it's a bit much. There are days where it seems that lunch and dinner and everything is chicken. I wish there was more beef, maybe even a nice slice of thick ham for dinner, maybe some lamb or something other than mostly chicken (they do have fish but there should be more fish dishes). There are days where it's kind of boring facing another chicken dish but once I eat, it's OK and tasty. I think I'll be doing more subs next time for beef so I can mix it up more.

That's what I do especially the weeks where they have prime rib or short ribs. The hamburger is pretty good too. One of my meals this week is the hamburger with swiss cheese, I wish I had substituted that a few times. Even though there is a lot of chicken, I'm glad it's at least cooked well and isn't tough!

02-03-2009, 08:36 PM
Okay, so I finally had a meal I didn't really care for, The crab stuffed flounder. The stuffing stuff was fine, but my fish wasn't cooked very well, so it really wasn't edible.
Anyway, better luck tomorrow! I'm having the hamburger with swiss, so that should be good.

Yeah I wasn't jumping down over that one either although it was decent enough. Week 3 was not my favorite. Now I see why it seemed like there was so much chicken lately. Week three was almost all chicken! Next time around, I will be making at least 4 or 5 substitutions! This week looks yummy (I subbed out for an extra Prime Rib)!
One funny thing I have noticed is that the food really smells up your house! It's good food, but it's very odorous! I have super long naturally curly hair and it soaks it up like a sponge. I love my hair smelling really fresh so now I actually put my hair up in a towel specifically for this purpose and use it until I am done eating certain (not all) meals. My husband cracks up at me, but even he can smell it all over the house and in my hair (kinda gross). I was thinking maybe it's the black trays they come in that make it stink more or something. I have a super sensitive nose so I open up all the windows and wrap a towel around my hair if it gets intense.
I'm what you call LOW MAINTENANCE! lol! :D

I know I'm back seat driving (again:D) but if there's a week you don't care for, since they charge for each sub, if you have freezer room, you may just want to buy 2 weeks of a week that you really do like. Since it's frozen, it won't go bad.
PrincessDietMuch
02-03-2009, 10:59 PM
Hey no problem KLC, drive away! You're only trying to help. Problem is that they do not want you to do this, They make a big deal about how the food is not meant to last in your freezer longer than a week to 10 days. It's fresh food then flash frozen for shipment. Plus to be honest. I am not a fan of that much chicken anyway so it's easier for someone like me to just spend the extra $2-3.00 to have all the subs I want. Thanks for the suggestion though. :)

Oh wow it is the black trays! When I take the food out and put it on a plate to microwave (not easy to do when it's frozen) the smell is nowhere near as bad! My husband thinks it's the plastic they use that is kind of burning with the food a bit. Never seen that with any other food I cook in the microwave so they would do well to look into that at some point (getting a better grade of dish to use for microwave cooking). They did JUST change their site yesterday so it is literally brand new and looks amazing! BIG improvement! I call in any changes and stuff anyway because I don't trust it any other way (and they answer pretty quickly).
Had the Short Ribs and OMG that's so darn good I want to eat it all week long!
Welcome TripMom! I hope you enjoy the food as much as I do because it really is something! Love love love this stuff! Are you doing the Low Carb or the Low Fat?
I ordered some delicious Low Carb cocoa from Netrition today. Tons of good reviews (I had been looking for one that did not use Aspartame or Asculframe or stuff like that which gives me a headache and has a funny aftertaste). Can't wait till that comes. Also trying some of those highly rated Ross Low Carb Chocolate bars. They sound so yummy and won't spike my blood sugar. I love the ChocoPerfection but it's $32.00 for only 12 bars! It's crazy! They are amazing, but the price is ludicrous!

Hi Chicks!
I had my first DTG meal tonight
Fettucini in White Sauce, Broccoli Florets, Whole Grain Roll with Red Pepper Spread
only I didn't eat the roll and spread, I wanted popcorn, so I had that instead. The fettucini was a bit bland, but otherwise I enjoyed the dinner.
I didn't heat it in the plastic container, I put it on a plate first...I worry about nuking plastic.

Starting my first full day.
I didn't think I would like breakfast:
1. I don't like sweet things in the morning
2. I didn't think pancakes would re-heat very well in the microwave
I was wrong. The apple pancakes weren't overly sweet. I dipped them in a bit of the syrup instead of pouring it over the top, and they were just right. They nuked just fine, turning out surprisingly fluffy. The veggie sausages were a nice contrast with just a bit of a spicey bite.
Lunch might be a challenge for me, I have a meeting where lunch is provided, and I have no idea what they are serving. I'm thinking about taking a small portion, and just playing around with it, then eating my DTG meal after.
Keep your fingers crossed for me!!

Lunch today was Mexican Pizza with Salsa, Pomodoro Rice, and V8 Juice. The pizza was awesome. You can see my comments above about the other two meals. OMG that Prime Rib is to die for (just had this for dinner)! It's not what a lot of places try and pass off as Prime Rib either. It's real Prime Rib with those delicious little bits of burnt fat or whatever they get around them when they are roasting...mmmmm Can't believe they give this to you....unreal.
Barb, sounds like you might be someone who may want to consider the one Cheesheader and I are doing (the Low Carb version) if you don't like a lot of sweet stuff for breakfast. I'm losing fast on the Low Carb and the food is to die for. Breakfasts are delicious omelets with sausages and decadent spinach with these delicious sauces. You get Prime Rib, Short Ribs, Pork Chops and lost of incredible Salmon fillets and stuff like that. I do plan on trying the low fat though because I want to mix it up and not allow my body to get used to something to avoid those plateau's. I've heard that the low fat is actually quite delicious, but I do believe the Low Carb is more decadent. After this coming week when I hit week 5, I think I will be switching for a few weeks to the low fat plan and then the vegetarian because that looks yummy too and then back to the Low Carb for more serious burning.
I'm on my fourth week now and I've lost 9 pounds! :carrot:
Welcome Mila! That vegetarian plan looks yummy! I was actually telling a friend about that today because she's a vegetarian and it's so hard to find prepackaged foods with any real variety when you are. OK guys, gotta fess up. A friend of mine was trying this out, and curiosity got the best of me. I ordered a week of the low carb plan. It just came in yesterday, so I'm starting it tomorrow. It will be interesting to see how it goes after being on meal delivery for almost a year, and the moderately low carb Bistro plan for 5 months (i.e. no upfront water weight, portion adjustment, etc).
Princess, thanks for the advice about the trays. I nuke, instead of boil, my Bistro food, so I'm used to the thaw, plate, nuke process, so that won't be an issue.
BTW, I did like DTG customer service.
Anyhow, just wanted to let you kids know that I was going to be hanging around this week. I REALLY like the Bistro food, so this is going to be a good litmus test. Thanks for letting me join your family for awhile.

Oh wow KLC! This is so cool! I'll be very interested in knowing your opinions on this food. Welcome to the dark side! lol!
By the way I am one of those that ignores that whole put some food in the fridge and some in the freezer thing. I just store it all in the freezer and merely transfer the food to a plate when ready to nuke (or nuke directly in tray than transfer to a plate). It does make the food sometimes a bit watery when it comes straight from the freezer because it was fresh food that was flash frozen, however once it's been transferred to a plate, that goes away and the food is delicious.
So glad you will be with us this week! :carrot:
I love DTG's customer service. They are actually very nice. I never go the salespeople because in all honesty, they are just too strange for me, but the CR people rock! :)

Well, breakfast this morning was kind of a bummer. Granola, yogurt and apple juice. I guess I got spoiled with the pancakes yesterday.
The yogurt didn't look right (ok..let's be honest here, I HATE yogurt, so I will find any excuse not to eat it) so I tossed it out and poured a little milk on my granola instead. The yogurt container said it was 130 calories, so I have about 100 to spare. I have some 100 Calorie packs in the house, so I'll have one of those for a mid morning treat. I hope lunch is better!

Uh oh....strike 2. Lunch was Spinach Tomato Melt and Peach Crisp. When I opened the package, Melt was an apt description. It was mush. I gave it the benefit of the doubt, carefully transferred it to a baking sheet, and popped it in the oven. No good, still mush. The dogs thought it was fabulous though.
Fortunately, I had last night's dinner still in the fridge. I had eaten plain salad at my lunch meeting yesterday, then ate my lunch when I got home at 5:00, so I wasn't hungry for dinner ( I snacked on air popped popcorn instead).
sooo....anywho, for lunch today, I ended up eating Soy Parmesan-[Soy Patty, Pasta, Tomato Sauce & Cheeses], and Italian Veggie Blend. It was very good!! I had read several complaints about the soy products, but I thought it was just fine, then of course, I'm used to soy, having been vegetarian for 17 years. It was very yummy and cheesey, and I felt satisfied after eating it. I'm saving my peach crisp for a snack later today.

First day report-
Had the egg with creamed spinach for breakfast. Absolutely loved it. Hoping that all the breakfasts are this good.
Ate breakfast late, and got tied up on a remodeling project, so no lunch
Was starving for dinner (duh) and had the half chicken. The chicken was good (pulled the skin off), but I LOVED the cauliflower puree. Wish they had included a gallon of that stuff. Looking at the food, I am surprised at the relatively small veggie portions. I'm gonna get some extra low carb types at the grocery store tomorrow.

I was surprised at the low veggie amounts too, especially after having done WW for so many years (lost 60 lbs, kept it off for 5 years, then gained every ounce back). I was thinking about adding veggies too, but I decided to see how I do without for now...my stomach has to re-learn that feeling of fullness, and maybe filling it up all the time to keep it happy is what failed me.

Kathy, get used to those because they are seriously delicious. The breakfasts on the low carb plan are to die for. Scrumptious omelets and the sausages are absolutely incredible (my favorite is the Western Omelet). I'm not a huge fan of quiche but if you like quiche those are pretty good. I get the Pork Chop breakfast tomorrow and that's yummy!
Barb, I'm actually relieved to hear that you are on the vegetarian plan after hearing your feedback because otherwise I was thinking what the heck! Did everyone lie to me because I have had several women out here tell me that the food on the low fat was absolutely delicious (I'm going to shift to that version soon for a bit). That if anything it was almost to good and they didn't lose like they should have been losing (a few said due to too much good food...too much bread and stuff like that). I was told the food though is truly delicious. I didn't know what to think until you clarified that you are doing the vegetarian plan which we've had almost no feedback on at all until this thread was born. Of course the Low Carb I am on has got to be the best tasting diet food I have ever had in my life and I've had 4 meal delivery plans to compare them to so far. The Prime Rib, Salmon Fillets, Catfish Fillets, Pork Chops, Short Ribs and Chicken is truly delicious! I love all the vegetables because normally you have to force feed me those. They use all these delicious sauces and the spinach they seem to give you with a lot of the Low Carb meals, is to die for!
I NEVER ate this many vegetables ever. I am eating vegetables with each and every meal and this is totally new for me. I miss pasta and rice, but I understand what they are doing. The vegetables is where we get all our carbs for the day and as it is, we are eating 60 carbs per day and that's a lot of Carbs for an Atkins based plan. If you actually click on the menu nutrition information, we are getting more carbs then Atkins would ever prescribe and even more than they confess to on their main site. If they loaded us up with even more vegetables, we would be incredibly out of balance with the carbs. I was actually thinking of eating less of the veggies to go into more of a ketosis with my body to burn more. Also I have to be honest, it's almost too much for me. Every single meal (including breakfast) comes with veggies and for me, it's a bit much at times though they make it yummy for you.
I ordered some low carb cocoa that uses erythritol so that it doesn't have an after taste or give me headache. Can't wait to get my hands on those because they use the same ingredients as those delicious ChocoPerfection bars that are outrageously priced! Anyway have a great evening everyone! :)

A couple of things though...first they shorted me one of the dessert/snacks, which they are crediting my credit card $3, so that gave me a bad first impression. Then tonight when I had the chicken, spinach lasagna for dinner, my last bite had a small piece of chicken bone in it! It was about the size of a pea. Yuck!
We'll see what surprises tomorrows food has for me! :)

Contemplating Breakfast
I am just not a muffin person. This morning's strawberry muffin with vanilla cream cheese was good...but I would have preferred an omelet with veggies or something. I won't be getting a delivery next week because I'm on a business trip, so I am looking at the week after. It looks like I will like at least 4 of the 7 breakfasts, so I'm ok with that. The next week though, it looks like only 2 of the 7 will be a hot breakfast. Hey...looks like I just hit that nail on the head...that's what I'm missing...I like a hot breakfast.
So what I'm thinking is maybe I should switch to the lunch and dinner only plan, and use up all of those little black containers by making up my own breakfasts. Unfortunately, everything you read about freezing cooked eggs says "don't do it, yuck.". But Diet to Go does it...hmm....maybe it's their flash freezing thing. Still though...even if I didn't freeze them. Let's say I get myself enough Egg Beaters to last a week, a couple of boxes of veggie sausage links, some asparagus spears, some peppers and onions...I could whip up some quick hot breakfasts and stop driving you all crazy with my whining about muffins.
For that matter, Egg Beaters can even be bought frozen, so why can't I freeze my own. I could use the two compartment containers, pour the egg beaters into the smaller side (carefully measured, of course), cook up some onions, peppers, whatever and toss it in the larger side with two veggie sausage links then freeze it up. All I would have to do in the morning then is pop the portions out onto a plate (segregating the sausage with the veggies so the eggs don't run over onto them) and nuke the whole thing.
Hot breakfast, portion controlled, easy to prepare. Whadda ya think??

I was smiling when I read this. After 2 mornings of DTG low carb breakfasts, I'm spoiled. I've discovered that I love not only the protein part of it, but also the veggies with it. I'm going to do a week of the low-fat to try it out. I just called DTG to find out if I could sub low-carb breakfasts onto the low-fat plan. Answer is no. Asked if I could buy the low-carb breakfasts only (the reverse of the lunch/dinner only plan). The answer was no. Bummer. Personally, I don't see low-carb and low-fat as an either/or thing. The key to me is to control calorie levels, and eating balanced healthy food. It doesn't matter that a breakfast is low carb/higher fat, as long as the overall calories are balanced. And a higher protein meal sticks with me longer.JMO. :soap:
To the whaddya think question, I think it's a great idea. Bistro is a high protein, lower carb type program, but they lean toward bread type breakfasts, so several people on Bistro have changed to the L,D plan and are doing their own breakfasts. Renita is probably the reigning queen :queen: of this and has done several posts on it. Search the bistro board for her posts (username crenita) and you'll get some good input.

My order was for the lunch and dinner only plan. I don't really like a big breakfast. Usually I have a Slim Fast breakfast bar which contains 150 calories. Do you think that would slow down my weight loss? Or, would I be better off to have a boiled egg and a slice of (40 cal) toast?

Remember the soggy Spinach Tomato Melt? Here is DTG's reply:
With regard to the soggy Spinach Tomato Melt, this can occur sometimes with the mail order meals, due to the freezing and thawing process. What I would recommend on this meal in the future is to put it into your freezer immediately upon receiving it and keep it there until you are ready to heat it up. When you heat it up I would recommend doing it in the oven and follow those heating instructions on our website until it is golden brown. We will go ahead and give you in store credit for the amount of the meals which is $5.76 as well as a $5 inconvenience credit for the situation. The total amount of the in store credit will be $10.76.
well, you can't ask for better customer service than that! They also offered me an option of replacing the yogurts with fruit at no extra charge. Woo Hoo!

The Lunch Report:
I was STARVING for lunch today.
Patty Melt-[Soy Patty, Tomato Sauce &
Mozzarella on a Multi-Grain Roll], Texas Caviar, Everything Flat Bread, Citrus Fruit Cup
When I took it out of the fridge, I thought, "hmm....this isn't going to fill me up, nor is it going to heat up well."
Once again, I was wrong. I took the sandwich apart, warmed the roll in the oven and nuked the patty. When I put it back together, the sandwich was HUGE! It must have been really compressed in the plastic wrap. The Texas Caviar was absolutely yummy. It had a lovely hot pepper bite and was just the right compliment to the Patty Melt. I didn't eat the Flat Bread yet, I'm too full.
Did ya hear that??? I'M TOO FULL!!!!!!!!! I'm never full. I used to eat until everyone else was done, and still feel hungry, and then, start planning when I was going to eat next. Even when I lost all the weight before, I never got over feeling constantly hungry. I would eat huge salads and 0 point veggies and soups....I lost the weight, but I was constantly starving.
Maybe it's because the DTG meals are so yummy...I dunno, but so far, I'm very happy!

You can ask their dietician that question. The answer will depend on which plan you're on. If you're on the low-fat or veggie plan, then I'd think a breakfast bar would be fine, if it keeps you going til lunch. It's about half the calories of the delivered breakfasts, so be careful that you don't drop your cals down to the point that your body goes into the 'I'm starving' mode. I haven't looked at the nutritionals on it, but I bet it's got higher carbs (and probably less protein) than they'd like to see on the low carb plan. But I'm sure they're dietician can give you the scoop.
Good luck!

I just realized that when I began this diet, they were serving week 2 so I've never had week 1's menu yet. I was going to switch to the low fat after next week is through for a change of pace, however now I will wait and finish with week 1 so that I have had all 5 weeks of the low carb (plus week one looks yummy with new foods not found in the other weeks). Can't wait to try the Eggs Benedict and Steak and Eggs! This plan is working for me faster than any of the low fat plans I have ever been on. I never lost this fast on Jenny Craig. I am beginning to believe all the hype on Atkins. I stayed away from that one because I was worried about all the fatty foods, however they use a lot of fish, chicken ad beef so you get a nice variety without too much accent on one thing. The one thing I have absolutely noted that I have never felt before is that for once my blood sugar is stable. I am not shaky or starving on the low carb like I have been with every other diet I have ever tried. I also like the fact that the carbs we eat are all veggies so it's actually very healthy in a way too. Normally I start to stray after a few weeks on the same food but I don't see this happening here with 5 weeks of all new low fat foods I can switch to and then switch back again.
Also now that I understand how substitutions work, I can eat more of the foods I like (actually they have not charged me anything different)! I gave them 4 substitutions this week and it was still $166.00 for the week! They also did not charge me last week for the substitution I made.

Hey girl! Thanks for that. I am looking forward to week 1 (lots of cool looking food that I have not seen in the other weeks)! The steak and eggs sounds delicious! I love love love the Low Carb breakfasts! I have to fight my husband off because he sees them and wants them and they are mine! lol! I love the omelets and sausage links the most! Al the omelets are sooo good! I really think the low carb is the most decadent and yet I am losing like crazy on this one! It's amazing to think we can lose on Prime Rib, Pork Chops, Rich cheese filled omelets and sausage! I love the spinach they use in many of the dishes. I wish more of the dinners had those incredible veggies from the Veal Parmesan with those large flat crisp green beans and artichoke hearts mmmmm.
Today is my treat day so I am heading out for a Starbucks Caramel Frappe! I did have a small handful of Skittles yesterday, but not enough to derail me or anything. I'm afraid I may not lose as much when I switch to the low fat but I think what I will do is split up some things because they give you extras on that one like pudding and angel food cake etc. I will let some of that be my snacks in between and then of course go back to the low carb again. This is honestly the best plan I have ever tried...very impressed! :carrot:

bgpa, glad you're loving the food and the plan. One reason that your not feeling hungry as much, may be because you're probably eating a higher level of protein than you were when you were doing WW. I've found that keeps me more 'level' with my hunger and energy.
Hey girl! Thanks for that. I am looking forward to week 1 (lots of cool looking food that I have not seen in the other weeks)! The steak and eggs sounds delicious!
Princess, my original plan was to do low carb week 4, skip week 5, and do week 1 because I agree, the menu looks great for week 1. But I decided to go with the low-cal week 1 plan. I'll be looking forward to hearing your take on the week 1 low-carb.
Congratulations on your weight lose. You must be very proud of yourself!
Thanks hacamila. I'm VERY happy with it. Wish I could take credit for putting in a bunch of hard work, but with an excellent meal delivery plan (I now put DTG into that category) it's just crazy easy. I haven't set any speed records, but I also don't feel that I'm depriving myself of doodly-squat. I've gotten so hooked on the taste and convenience, that I'm going to stay on meal delivery even after I hit goal. That's one reason that I'm trying to keep my finger on the pulse of all the national delivery meal plans...this is not a temporary thing for me.
Well, so far so good. To put everything in perspective, I was stooooopid over the holidays and put on 9lbs between Thanksgiving and New Years :fr: Got back on plan the beginning of Jan and lost 10lbs in 3 weeks (alot of it was water weight from junk I'd eaten during the previous 6 weeks). For the week and a half before starting my week of DTG, I'd been at a standstill. I'm very happy to say I dropped a pound this morning. :woohoo: It will be interesting to see what the rest of the week brings. Yeah, you know I'm weighing myself every day...not only am I a meal delivery junkie, I'm a scale junkie.

Geezy-peezy, that veggie quiche was good. Nutrition wise, it's one of the most over the top breakfasts (cal, carb, fat, salt), but man alive it was tasty. Was also pleased with how it cooked up in the nuker. The sausage patty was so-so, but wasn't bad if you chopped it up and mixed it in with the greens.

I should be getting my first order with DTG tomorrow and looking forward to it! I'm doing the low fat first.
Thanks!

The beef is wonderful! The Short Ribs and Prime Rib are truly yummy however you are doing the low fat version so I have yet to try any of that (I will be when I am done with my 5 weeks on the low carb just to shake things up a bit). I have had a few of them women out here tell me that the food on the low fat version is absolutely delectable, so I am sure that includes the beef. They cook it all in the same kitchens so it probably is. I did get one prime rib that was a little disappointing. I realized that it must have been an end piece or something because it was all fat though this has only happened once. The food on this program is truly impressive. That and the price.
I love love love that Andouille Sausage! I wish I had ordered 3 of those this week!

Hi guys,
Just wanted to let you know how much I've enjoyed your company this past week. I've decided that I'm going to mosey back over to the Bistro plan. I miss their food. Let me remind everyone, that this is personal preference. You've got to pick a plan that works for you, and that you enjoy. A perfect example is that I preferred the food on eDiets over the PFFS food when I did the two of them (a couple months each), even tho the PFFS is more expensive, and more 'gourmet'. Also remember that my DTG view was after a single week sample of the low carb plan. You guys who've been on multiple weeks (and other DTG plans) have a much broader view of the food. Here's my take:
Breakfasts - OMG I'm gonna miss them. I love frittatas, quiche, etc, so I was in hog heaven. Also, as weird as it was to think of having a serving of veggies at breakfast, I found that I loved it.
Veggies - I love veggies, but I've never considered myself a 'greens' person. But I REALLY enjoyed them. And all of the veggies that I had were excellent. I tip my hat to DTG on this.
Meats - Here's where I had a gotcha. Maybe I just hit a bad week (and remember I was on the low carb plan). I've never liked fat on meat or skin on chicken. The prime rib and pork chop dinner may have had 3 square inches of meat left after I cut the fat off. I haven't tackled the short ribs yet. I had to strip the chicken before eating it. What did pleasantly surprise me was the white fish parmesan. To me, that thing was really good. A hint that I've figured out over the last year when nuking fish...cook it a whole lot longer than you think you need to. It may dry it out on the edges, but the rest of it will be flakey. If you don't it will be mushy (ewww)
I'm glad that I took DTG for a spin around the dance floor. Although my heart (OK, tongue and stomach ;)) is with Bistro, I know that some of you have tried Bistro and prefer DTG. Aren't we lucky to have this selection :hungry: :chef:
The best of luck to all of you. I'll keep checking in on you guys to hear all of the wonderful success stories!!!

PS. Kathy a couple of questions if you don't mind. At the end of next week I will be done with my five weeks of Diet To Go Low Carb and was about to do 5 weeks of the Diet To Go Low Fat. I may consider trying Bistro for one week to see what I think like you did here with us because this would be a good time when my 5 weeks of the low carb ends.
If you do not want a "my night" which I definitely do not (at some point in the future sure, but I need and want complete structure right now and do not want to pay for an extra meal once a week when I would be paying over $800.00 a month for this plan). Will they send you that extra meal or do they stand by their "my night thing" and force you to buy an extra meal. That bothered me a lot actually because on one part of their site they talk about 3 full meals a day 7 days a week and ONLY when you look at the menu do they lower the boom and let you know that you have a "my night." In other words translation in English..I will need to buy 4 extra meals a month when I would be paying a fortune for this plan. Do you know if they are sticklers on this? If they are not, I really might try a week. I think it would be better if they sent you the meals like all diet plans do when you are paying for weekly delivery and let YOU be the one to truly decide if you want a night off that week rather than force your hand (for some of us who need structure, that can absolutely derail things for us and I need structure and don't want any hassles). When they say it's your night enjoy, what they are saying to me is hey we want to cut costs and came up with this idea and it's not cool with me (I also saw a couple people blogging about this and it was not cool with them either and one really let Bistro have it for this and I felt what she said...really did). I didn't much like that either at all. Let this be my choice and my night because it is after all my money. I feel strongly about this...very. Just want to know if they are sticklers on it.
The only other thing I wonder about is where does the food ship out from (what state) and on what day each week (I am assuming it is Monday)? Do you happen to know per chance? Do they use Fed Ex or UPS? I would really appreciate your input if you get a moment (or Cheeseheader if you get this I know you did this one for a week or so too so any input would be awesome). I may try a week before heading off into Diet To Go's Low Fat.
Right now I am blessed because they ship my food out of Virginia and I get it in one business day and even then I have had a meal or two starting to defrost and it's winter here, so I do worry about transit times and origin. Usually anything from VA, NY, Ohio or Maryland will get to me quickly but I have no idea where Bistro is centered.
Anyway thanks in advance. :)

If you are small boned, your healthy weight will probably be toward the lower end of the range. If you have a large frame, it might be toward the higher end. Note: A healthy weight for those who are very muscular (such as competitive athletes or body-builders) may be above the indicated range.Visit for more diet-for-lowering-cholesterol.blogspot.com

Quick update...I am probably going to call them tomorrow if I get some time at work. I like the fact that the calories are so low and I would do the one without snacks (can't have all that soy anyway) so I would be looking at $20.00 more a week than what I pay now with the Low Carb plan. I'm going to see if I can't get a rep there to just note my account or something to make sure I get my full meals without a "my night" so we will see how it goes. I think it's worth at least a try because without snacks it's at least more in the range I am accustomed to and some of the food does look good. We'll see how it goes. I do like that it's much stricter in calories because I think I could lose faster. I wish there were more omelets and stuff because I do prefer food like that over artificially filled donuts, but we'll see how it goes.
If it does not work out for me, I will simply stick to my original plan of doing the low fat here. :)

Princess.......
The Best decision you make is still the one that makes you happy and satisfied, whichever plan you use.....and just using a meal delivery plan is a Great decision and being HAPPY with it.
. I know I am NOT an objective user of Bistro.. so that being said.. in my opinion the pure volume of food on the Bistro plan is significantly larger than DTG the volume of protein is WAY higher even thought they don't call it a high protein diet. The calories are a lot lower because they don't use all the full fats, and oils that a true Atkins type plan recommends. Their food is more along the lines of the South Beach Diet plan...high protein, low fat , low carb. They have a few pasta meals but its made with a high protein, low carb pasta.
Now if you decide to try Bistro.. you may want to get the Biggest Loser Meal Delivery plan( that is what you type in to see that plan on line))))).. That one has 7 dinners on it and is about $10 a week cheaper.. the food is exactly the same food just not the complete variety that the Bistro plan has but is just the same quality and volume.. Also Ask the rep about current DISCOUNTS.. i.e free shipping .......There are coupon's online but if you want to talk with them tell them you saw the coupons but want to order directly..
The real difference that I can tell you is the quality of the products is significantly better , in my opinion, than anything I have received from any meal delivery company.
The other night I had a pork loin dinner.. the size of the meal was at least 1/4 of a pork loin. Tender and with the most amazing sauce. Large portion of grilled corn and 2nd portion of green beans. The blackened Tilapia I had yesterday was so large it extended over both sides of my plate !
They don't use much cheese but when they do it is low fat cheese not cheese food i.e. velvetta type.
I have been getting their meals through the HOTTEST summer months here in Florida and I have never had , not one, meal that arrived not solidly FROZEN...and I do mean solid. Because they are really vacuum sealed they last in the freezer without any damage at all. DTG doesn't vacuum seal( sucked out all air from the package)) rather vacuum close their items.
I am with you on the sweet breakfasts, so I just use the sweet breakfast items as snacks for that day and replace it with something I like; eggbeateres or oatmeal..something like that.
Again I am saying I am NOT an objective user.. but one that has gone through 4 different meal delivery companies.. and I am still a happy camper w Bistro after 6 months and Many lost pounds later.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

Princess,
What Renita said.:D. From what you said, I'm assuming that they'll ship to you from their Indiana warehouse. I'm in north Alabama, and even during the dog days of August, the dry ice was never gone, and everything frozen rock solid. Again, I'm not trying to talk anyone into going to the other dark side . But if you have more than 20lbs to lose (so you'll be on it awhile), you may want to do a week from time to time here and there, just to check out the different plans, and then come back to your favorite. For some folks, frozen just doesn't get it, so they prefer the fresh plans such as eDiets, PFFS and Seattle Sutton. I'd definitely try a week of Seattle Sutton if I were in a local area, but alas, shipping to Alabama makes it pricey.

You guys are wonderful! Thank you a million times over for the information. That was very nice of you to take the time to get back to me on the Bistro.
Renita, I could hug you for mentioning the Biggest Loser plan because I had totally forgotten about that one being Bistro's baby. You're right. That plan would be perfect for me because the food is the same, I don't get a "my night" which was a major turn off for me and it's cheaper! The only thing I wish is that they gave you that extra weeks worth of different food that you would get on Bistro but that's cool. Not a major deal breaker or anything. I love that the food is low fat and yet it's also low carb too. I'm not a fan of tons of chicken, but if the sauces are truly delectable, that will help to make it good for me. I actually like chicken a lot, but there was a week at Diet To Go that was so much chicken (week 3), that it did a number on me and suddenly I didn't want to even look at the stuff anymore!
I made all these substitutions, but then it hit me yesterday that what I chose is tastier because it was more sausage and beef however it would also be more fattening so I was not doing myself any favors. I began to look at the calorie levels at Diet To Go and even though I adore the food, that bothers me a little. It's a lot of calories and fat. I'm so torn here. I was ready to go into the Low fat Diet To Go because all those sandwiches and stuff look so yummy (would love the kugle), but it really does look like a great deal of bread. I definitely want to at least try Bistro's Biggest Loser Plan because it looks like you can really lose big on this one and it's more affordable than the straight Bistro.
At first glance with Bistro, I was turned off by the price (over $200.00 a week), the "my night" and the sugary breakfasts however if I do the 7 day plan without snacks on Bistro's Biggest Loser (I buy my own snacks now as is and prefer it that way), I would only be paying $8.00 more a week than I am paying now for the more expensive Low Carb plan from Diet To Go which is $166.90 a week including shipping (The Biggest Loser 7 days without snacks is $174.90). That's more realistic and doable at that price and I like that I would be eating gourmet food that is not so fatty and caloric. I like your idea of making some egg beaters and a turkey sausage or something for breakfast and having the doughnut or pastry for a snack since I won't be getting the snacks. I figure if I am not getting the snacks at Bistro, that would leave me with a few hundred calories to play with and still be in good range each day. This allows me to safely have my Lactaid fat Free chocolate milk each morning (like I said before some of us never grow up) and even a ChocoPerfection bar if I want that day. I actually have a major sweet tooth (food was never my problem...chocolate was and is), but the doughnuts every day for breakfast were not a highlight for me since I prefer hearty eggs and bacon kind of stuff in the morning and leave the sweet stuff for snacks.
We were swamped today at work so I never even got a moment to call Bistro. I have until noon tomorrow to call Diet To Go and cancel my upcoming order (darn and this was the week with steak and eggs), but that's only if Bistro can ship to me on Monday (the web site is a little confusing because in one spot it makes it look like you must let them know by Wednesday if you are ordering for the first time or stopping an order to get a shipment sent that following Monday and yet on the Biggest Loser site, it says as long as you order by Sunday online, you can get your shipment sent out that Monday. If it's too late for me to get a Bistro shipment sent out Monday, no problem, I will keep the week I have coming from Diet To Go and then order Bistro for the following week. You're right I owe it to myself to try the plan. I am actually someone seeking to find a plan I can stay on for a while because it's not just about weight loss. It's also a major convenience factor for me. I hate having to figure it all out and go to the store and stare at the aisles going now what! Once I lose what I need to lose I may just go back and forth between the plans so that I get fresh and new food each time and avoid the whole shopping nightmare altogether. As long as I can afford it, I'm game!
I was a little scared off by the last 30 pages or so of the Bistro thread because I saw a lot of problems in there with people getting unappealing food or food that was shipped in bad packaging, so hopefully changes were made and translated to the Biggest Loser side too.
I'll let you know what happens. Thank you both so much!! :)

PS: By the way thank you for telling me about their Indiana warehouse Kathy. I live in PA so that is probably where they will ship out of. It's not that wonderful one day shipping lane I was hoping for, but it indicates that it's a two day shipping lane. I used to do Jenny Craig and of course they only ship overnight delivery using dry ice and Fed Ex. Well there were weeks there that I got my food and literally all the dry ice was gone so that freaked me out and that was overnight delivery! What has always made me nuts is that UPS and Fed Ex should have air conditioned trucks for so many reasons that it's almost asinine that they don't. That stuff can sit all day long in a truck that is literally 120 degrees or more inside (not to mention the poor driver who is melting). If it can get to you guys totally frozen on really hot days, two days in transit, than hopefully I will be fine.

Hi all,
I just wanted to say that next week will be my last week on Diet to Go. I only allocated so much for food delivery and now it's time to start cooking on my own. I really love the food and hope that in a few months I might be able to order a few more weeks. It really helped me to jump start my weight loss and give me motivation.
I'll still post and good luck to everyone!

Aww I'm going to miss you girl, but glad that you will be at least checking in. I canceled my Diet To Go for next week and just signed up Bistro's Biggest Loser. I was actually close to signing up with regular Bistro because of the variety until the girl told me that if I did not want a "my night" they would have to charge me an additional $13.00 per week for that meal ($12.95 to be exact). I was horrified! I think even she was horrified having to tell me that. I told her that nowhere on Bistro's site do they mention that there will be a missing meal until you have a look at the menu which is deceptive (and I told her so). Sounded to me like she's heard this same compliant before, but she had to tell me that they would need to charge me an additional $52.00 a month! That was what turned me off to regular Bistro to begin with because if I am spending over $800.00 a month, I don't expect to pay more to buy extra food each week! That just burns me up. It really does because I honestly find that outrageous. I had a feeling that the "my night" was more of a money based ploy than anything and I was right. Hey I call em like I see em you know. If it was truly being done in the spirit of giving me a chance to have a night off to pick my own foods, they would have said hey no problem. If you don't want a "my night" and that's what is stopping you from joining us, I will note your account and you will get what we advertise in our cart that you are supposed to get (3 full meals per day 7 days per week is what is shown in the cart and everywhere else on the site). I think that's greedy and misleading as hell but I'm glad they have the other program or I would have told them forget it (thanks for telling me about that Renita). Sorry for the rant but seriously, that burns me.
But....
I have signed up so hopefully this will be a positive thing for me. I do believe that I have been eating too many calories and too much fat on this plan so I know I will be eating healthier. I was going to do the snacks because they really did look good until the rep told me that not only are the chips and stuff all soy, but so are the shakes. I was disappointed because the cheesecakes and stuff looked so yummy! I figured it might be OK to have a few soy products here and there, but not that much soy if it's the shakes too and it is. My thyroid would go crazy.
I start next week so I am excited to see what all the fuss is about! I agree. I think its good to try a variety of plans to see which one is the right fit for you. This one has intrigued me for a while and I like that the calorie level is so low. I'm excited! :)

I did try Bistro for a week. I actually did the regular week. I liked some of the meals but the snacks I though were more filler, chips and shakes and I usually don't eat that stuff and preferred better snacks.
It was nice to have a ready made meal but Taking the time to boil water and boil the meal, I could have made something. I think you can microwave, but the way they package makes it a little hard to do. But some of the meals were pretty good. I liked pork one and the steak with peppercorns was good. And the one I liked best was the chicken marsala.

Hey you just brought up a good point. I could never get into that whole boiling thing at all. I agree that would drive me nuts. I want to nuke these so I am assuming that you put the pouch on a microwave plate and pierce it, but how long do you usually nuke them for? I think Kathy said she nukes hers if I am not mistaken. I want to be able to microwave them. I guess you just have to be careful when you cut the end of the pouch open with all the steam, but yeah boiling would be a pain.

I nuke EVERYTHING.. but I do take the food out of the foodsaver bags before heating..... When you get the food ask for some directions from us ' oldies' and we will be glad to help.
I tried the boil in the bag but it took too long and I couldn't get the temperature right... so Microwave works great. And no problem at all.
Enjoy your week. It is always fun to try some new things whether you stay with it or not it is good to get a feel of what is out there so you can make good choices. And do some switch up weeks along the way.

Today was my first day onthe vegetarian lunch and dinner plan. My lunch was not very filling. I had Ciabatta Bake, Quinoa Salad, and an apple. Hopefully dinner will be more satisfying. My question is, are any "free foods" allowed on the plan or should I eat ONLY what is in my meal plan?
Thanks,

Hi all,
I really love the food and hope that in a few months I might be able to order a few more weeks.
What's so great about these frozen plans (vs fresh), is that you can get a week and keep it in the freezer as 'fill in' food to use when you haven't had a chance to shop or prep something. Not as cheap as lean cuisine, but so much tastier.
edit: stepped on the scale and 2 more lbs gone!
:bravo: You're doing great! I'll look forward to dropping by and hearing great success stories from you!
Princess, like Renita, I take everything out of the bags and plate it before I nuke it (just like you do DTG food).
Mila, ask the dietician...I'm sure she/he can help you out. That's the nice part about being on a plan that has one!!! Enjoy your new food. If you haven't done meal delivery before, be advised...it will spoil you :D

Well I will say this. I have lost 10 pounds now total and I've been on Diet To Go's Low Carb Plan for 3 1/2 weeks (my fourth week will be ending on Tuesday as that was my start day and when I was due to go into my fifth week). Not bad. The food has been delicious. I am a picky eater and there were only a few things that did not appeal to me. My favorites were the Prime Rib. Short Ribs, Salmon Fillet's, Catfish Fillets, Omelets, Andouile Sausage and Hamburgers which were all absolutely wonderful (their hamburger is about the best I've had....very good with seared edges and everything). The veggies for the most part were wonderful except I was never thrilled with the cauliflower. All in all very impressive.
The low fat plan looks even yummier and I have heard from quite a few people now that the food on that plan is truly delicious. But they all had the same thing to say...they lost slowly because of all the bread (if I had a year to lose the weight, I would do this without blinking because the food looks like the kind you could just live on forever diet or no diet). That is what sent me looking again if only for a short while, to make sure I have tried them all and make a better assessment of what will be best for me. So far this is my favorite, but I want to step it up now and I think Bistro's Biggest Loser might do that for me.
Since I am such a chocoholic, I will allow myself chocolate everyday because I need to come up with 300 calories as is since I won't be doing their snacks so that will be nice to have my cake and eat it to so to speak. I love chocolate and I found that Ross Chocolates actually makes a better milk chocolate bar that is sugar free and tastes amazing (better than that super expensive ChocoPerfection! The malitol they use for some reason does not affect me like some of the other malitol's I've encountered. Yummy and won't spike your sugar much.
Very excited waiting for my first Bistro order! I think I will lose more on this one.
When you guys say that you take it out of the bag to cook, isn't that tough to do when the sauce is all stuck to the bag? Do these come in trays and then sealed with a bag or do you literally somehow push out the frozen mass from the bag and do it that way? Is there a reason that it should not be cooked in the bag? Also on average what would you recommend for nuking these meals? I would greatly appreciate your input and of course I will eventually make my way over to the Bistro side here shortly when I get my stuff. You guys have been a tremendous help out here. Thank you!! :)

Are you planning on doing a low carb plan ? if so let me know there is a great website that has amazing recipes to make.. They even have pictures of the wonderful meals as they prepare them.
Princess.. I am going to post the answer to this question re food on the bistro board so as not to take space on this board.

hey there! Can you tell me which meal plan within Diettogo that you've had success with? I just ordered my first week of meals on the "traditional low fat" plan but do not see the short ribs and meatloaf you raved about. Are you doing the low carb option? I'm just wondering if I should switch...
Thanks for your help!

Welcome RTL. :)
Actually that is why I tried to mention that I am doing the Low Carb in most of my posts so that if someone wants to know what plan we're talking about, they would know. You must have missed that unfortunately. It is the low carb that Cheeseheader and I have been doing. I lost 10 pounds on that plan in a month. The food has been wonderful. In fact it shocked me how delicious it was considering that it's a diet meal plan. There were very few foods that I disliked. It's more expensive than the Low Fat plan, but still cheaper than most of the other diet delivery meal plans which are closer to $200.00 a week and more.
I may come back here and do the low fat plan that you chose however after I have given Bistro a shot because I've heard from quite a few people now who have done the low fat plan, that it's just as delicious if not more delicious than the low carb (though it will not have stuff like Prime Rib and short ribs on it). Had the short ribs last night and it was delicious!
You will lose more weight faster on the low carb probably however the calories are higher than the low fat plan and so are the fat grams (big time). I was concerned about all the fat I was eating even though I was losing. What I love about Diet To Go is the amazing variety! You get 5 weeks of different menu's that give you new foods to try each time and than you can simply skip on over to the other plans they have and get five weeks on those so that you never get bored of food and you keep your system guessing which is good for weight loss.
I will be doing Bistro next week to try the plan however I chose the cheaper plan because already this is putting a cramp on my lifestyle because of the cost however The Biggest Loser Bistro plan only gives you 4 weeks of menu's and that's it...no other plan to skip to for new food. I figured i would give it a shot and see how I do for a week or two.
I think you made an excellent choice for now because the food is supposed ot be tasty and yummy on the low fat but of course only you can decide how you feel. Good luck to you! :)

thanks PrincessDietMuch! I am excited about trying Diet to Go and am glad to hear that you have had such success with it. I actually switched my plan this morning to the low carb one - I decided to try that one out this week instead. Did you ever try the low fat one? I'm uneasy about only having "three meals per day" since I'm quite a snacker so I figured the higher protein meals may fill me up better.
I'll be interested to hear what you think about Bistro in comparison to Diet to Go.

I have never tried the Low fat plan yet, but I will (I've heard great things about it). I was actually about to switch to the low fat plan before I decided to give Bistro a try which I will be doing this week (I will let you know how it goes). The low carb plan was delicious and very filling however I did have snacks. I have insulin resistance so I can't go like that for hours with nothing between meals. Most of us do snack on this plan. I usually have a sugar free chocolate bar every now and then (I now prefer the Ross Milk Chocolate bars because they really are delicious and offer very low carbs and are much cheaper than ChocoPerfection). I will also have a cup of milk and a string cheese if need be. If I am really hungry, I will make a bag of Pop Secret's 94% Fat Free popcorn which is delicious and very low calorie, though it is carb fest. You should do what is right for you because everyone is different. If you feel hungry, simply have a sensible snack (aim for high protein and low carbs). Let us know how you make out on the plan! :)

Something that has really worked well for some of us as snacks is the high protein hot chocolates (hi protein, low cal, low carb so they work with any plan). The reason I mention this is that DietDirect.com has the Wonderslim versions on sale right now. I stay stocked up on them, and keep them at work and at home.

I am shaking right now I am so livid! I can only speak from my own experience, but the the way that Bistro's customer service just dealt with me was incredible. My best friend and my husband overheard the entire thing as they sat in the kitchen while I was on the phone with these people and they were stunned (not as stunned as me)!
I was all set with Bistro and excited about my order. I canceled my Diet To Go and everything. I was merely calling Bistro to get my tracking number so that I could be on the lookout for my food for the day it would arrive (when I signed up, I was told that they ship out on Mondays and can sometimes ship out on a Tuesday but almost always Monday). I will tell you that I was not impressed the day I signed up to begin with because as slowly as I spelled my name and everything for the person, they got a few things wrong as I saw in my confirmation (I had to call to correct them because after all we are dealing with credit cards and names and addresses are important). Today when I simply called to get the tracking number, the girl got back on the line and said that she was sorry but my shipment did not go today, but that it would ship at some point this week! I said sometime this week! Sorry but that is most definitely not acceptable at all. She said that it could come on a different day each week and they have no way to control that!
I told her that I was not told of this or I would have never signed up! She said "maam we just can't guarantee when your order will be shipped ever because we do not know what Fed Ex will do." I said Fed Ex is not even in the picture yet because in order for them to do anything, they need to get the food from you and you can't even tell me when you are going to do that! She said there is no way for them to tell when an order will ever ship and that sometimes it can go as late as Wednesday! I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said that she was the closest thing to one since their supervisor was gone until Thursday. I said "so you have only one manager or supervisor" and she said yes I'm afraid so. I said "so there's nobody else in your company that handles problems like this and she said that there wasn't! I was literally horrified...seriously! This is Bistro!!!!! OMG!!!!
Sorry for the screaming, but what the heck! I got another person on the phone who was not a supervisor because there is only one and she was not available, but she told me the same thing. In fact she said that they can never tell me when I can expect an order but that it does ship every week anytime between Monday and Wednesday usually (not what I signed on for and not what I was led to believe). Their loosy goosy attitude was unreal, not to mention the fact that not once did they try to save me. Not once did they try to make things right or use even an ounce of customer service to try to save a new client. Not once and that has never happened to me before with any company. They just sat there basically and kept repeating the same phrases like robots and offered nothing to me a new customer by way of assistance. All she could tell me is that they are overwhelmed with orders and try to get to them out as best as they can, but they could never tell me when I could expect a shipment each week ever and sorry that is not something I can deal with or should have to deal with. This plan is rather expensive and I truly expected that they would handle themselves better but you could tell that they could give a you know what if you walk out that door or not which astounded me and my friend and husband who listening as this thing went on.
I was frantic because now I canceled a program that has been wonderful for me that has excellent customer service and for what I thought! Seriously I have every reason to be upset. I don't care how glorious they have been with anyone else because that was not what happened to me! Not by a long shot. The attitude was unreal. It's as if they were helpless mice who had this script in their hands and they could do nothing for me or even try to do anything for me! She said I would probably get it Thursday or Friday and I told them to forget it. To please cancel and refund me my money. She said they would do that today (didn't even try to save me or keep me or anything). My husband still cannot believe this. I can't believe how horrible the service was! My God! All I know is no way would I want to deal with these people another day! No thank you! I was so upset because I thought now I am out of food and was so sorry I canceled with Diet To Go.
Well I called Diet To Go even though it was after hours and left a frantic message. Do you know a rep called me back after hours just now and apologized for what I went through and said that they would send out my order no problem tomorrow even though the dead line was Friday and I stopped service! She was so sweet and helpful and said they would take care of me. I wanted to cry I was so thankful because not having a week of my meal plan would be a bad situation for me. I am beyond disappointed and sound stressed because it was very stressful actually.
I won't be straying again that's for sure. God bless those people that love Bistro and think they are wonderful, but I can't live vicariously through you. I have to speak from my open experience and if you are a thinking person, you have to agree this was pretty awful just now and it was. I am writing a letter to Bistro to speak about my experience not that I think they will care very much. Ugh......
Please know that I am not angry at those that suggested Bistro. It's not your fault of course, but what happened to me and the cavalier attitude with Bistro was inexcusable. What a terrible experience start to finish.

Princess, so sorry to hear about your experience today. You're right about DTG having great customer service. I'm glad they were there for you. I haven't had any of the issues you had today with Bistro, but I'm pretty much on auto-pilot. My food has come every week on either Wednesday or Thursday, never a glitch. If I'd had any idea that you'd run into problems, I'd have given you a head's up. The good news is, you've got DTG to 'come home to'. As we've all said, it's great that there are multiple meal delivery programs out there, so we can settle in with the ones we love. I know you'll do great with DTG, and I'm looking forward to hearing about the low fat plan!

Actually Diet To Go called and left a very apologetic message for me this morning telling me that as much as they want to ship my order out, they got in today only to learn they are out of food now. They do not have either the low fat program or the low carb to ship so I am out of my food this week. Not only that but Bistro's promise to send me a confirming e-mail that my card was being refunded and that my orders have been stopped has never arrived either last night as promised or today (in fact I emailed them and not even an email back today). I am basically screwed here. I am not in a good space understandably. Furious, disappointed, stunned and just plain angry now that I will now have no diet food this week and this could absolutely derail me for a whole week. I was doing so well. I am glad you never treated this way, however I'm sure you understand that this is little comfort for me who had just the opposite. Trying to figure out what to do to get through now for the week. Already did our weekly grocery shopping this weekend and no real time to do anymore. Oh well. It is what it is. Thank you for the messages of encouragement. :(

Well things have only become more ridiculous and insane as we go along. I have no idea why I have been chosen for this great honor, but I finally hear back from Bistro who tells me that they will pull my order today and refund my card (I was told this was being done yesterday). Meanwhile I also receive an e-mail from Fed Ex now telling me that I am due to receive a shipment from Bistro tomorrow and that my package was sent yesterday before my conversations with Bistro themselves who assured me that nothing had shipped or was even due to ship that day. I have no idea how anyone at Bistro could pull an order when it has already gone out and is en route to me. Talk about the front not knowing what the back is doing (I had to tell THEM that my order had been shipped)! This is the worst service I have ever encountered in my life. They don't even know what is going on at their own company and can't tell you either. I asked and asked yesterday and they acted as if their hands were tied and could not even look into things! It was utterly bizarre!
I have emailed asking them what I should do when this shipment arrives tomorrow and nobody will get back and tell what should be done! I don't know what to do! I can't believe all the unnecessary confusion! Meanwhile Fed Ex will be delivering this tomorrow and no word on what I should do!
I was a customer service manager for years and if this was me I would have called today and apologized profusely for all the confusion. I would have introduced myself and told the customer that I would be making sure that things were handled properly from here on out and that I was so sorry that all of this happened. That customers are important to us and we want our customers happy. I would have called me back at this point and said you know keep it. After all we have put you through, keep the food and enjoy it. Let us know how you feel about it and please give us another chance as we would love to see you as a repeat customer. Not only has nothing like that happened but this company has not once even apologized for a thing. Not one apology from any of them. Now I can't even get them to call or write to let me know what I should do with this shipment. Because I am human and not a robot, I am obviously very unhappy with all of this. Very stressful. It's a shame that they will now be getting back a weeks worth of defrosted food because at this rate, there will be no other way to go. If I unloaded it and placed it in my freezer, with my luck Fed Ex would be knocking on my door for the package so either way I am screwed as nobody will get back to me and advise so I will to leave it out and Fed Ex will need to pick it up and everyone loses. How ridiculous!
Editing as they JUST now finally get back to me to tell me that they intercepted the package and it is being shipped back. This whole thing has been unreal...just unreal. The classy thing would have been to say keep the darn thing at this point knowing that their misinformation has led to me being completely out of food this week and it was already on it's way! Talk about a lose lose situation for everyone. Ugh...never ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God how tacky and disappointing.
Ready to hit the Godiva counter at this point, BUT...I wont.

On a positive note (trying to find some sunshine in all this darkness the past two days), I had the Parmesan Chicken Wings from Diet To Go and seriously, that was delicious! I usually don't use dipping sauces because it's not my thing and the are usually icky to me. I tried a tiny bit of the rich, decadent white Parmesan sauce they had in that cup and OMG that was good! I'm so torn because I love some of these low carb foods so much but after a while you get tired of the same routine, so I am going to do the low fat next week. This week will be lots of prayer that I can somehow get by without totally derailing now that I will be off the program until they can get me set up again.
I did have a look at that Seattle Sutton place and wow! Now that really does look interesting and people have lost some serious weight there. The food looks incredible! For my area for UPS delivery, it costs about $200.00 a week and if you commit to longer, you can save a little more. Googled here but didn't see much on this unless it's super old or in another place here maybe. That may be one I might try actually at some point. The distributor that is closest to me is in Illinois so that's a two day shipping lane (they showed that it would ship out of there per my zip code). It appears to be all fresh food like Pure Foods only a much more exotic selection. Interesting.

Had a tough weekend. DH was home for four days and we tend to play too much when he is home with food. I would start the day out well, but then ended up eating junk at the end of the evening. I've been doing okay for the last 3 days, but still taking a few too many bites of the kids food here and there. I got on the exercise bike yesterday and am planning on doing it again today. We'll see what happens. I'm not getting on the scale until Friday. You know this whole weight loss deal can be a bid depressing at times! :)

I think the reason that Diet-To-Go is working so well for me is that I have made a dedicated decision to eat ONLY what they send me, plus 1 snack. Any time I even THINK about eating something else, I remind myself that it won't work unless I commit to it. Then, I start thinking about the money that I'm spending on it, and that firms up my decision.
I'm finding myself satisfied with smaller portions now too. Somebody mentioned that it might be that DTG is higher in protein than I am used to but I disagree. I'm on the vegetarian plan, and there is no more protein in it than I was eating previously. I think it's because this is REAL food, compared to the "diet" foods I have been eating for so many years. I also think my body is relearning how to feel full. I've lost this weight before...and kept it off for 5 years, but I always ate HUGE portions of low calorie foods. I thought I always needed to be munching on something, and I always felt hungry. Now, I seem to be satisfied with these small portions of REAL food. I'm pleased as punch with the program. The weight is coming off and I feel like I am in control of my eating again.

Barb, I have been on the vegetarian plan for one week now. I think the food is delicious but I could sure use an afternoon snack. What do you eat for your snack? Mid-afternoon I begin to feel a little shaky so I eat a handful of grapes. I hope this does not interfere with my weight loss. How long have you been on the plan and how much weight have you lost? This week I lost two lbs.

If breakfast or lunch has an "extra" like a piece of fruit or a roll or juice, I save it and use that as a snack. I add my extra snack in the evening, which is my "munchie" time. I have air popped popcorn or a diet ice cream bar. I delay dinner as long as possible so I'm less tempted to eat at night.
As to how long I have been on the plan, I was on for a week, then I was on the road for a week, so not on the plan (my job requires travel) then back on this week. I'll be "on" for the next 3-4 weeks, becaue I'm having surgery on Wednesday, and won't be allowed to drive for almost a month. I'm not sure how this is going to effect my weight loss efforts, as I won't be able to be active, but it will be easier eating my DTG meals at home, rather than eating out while on the road. I won't be able to go shopping, so, as long as I can convince my family how important this is to me, there won't be any tempting foods in the house for me to get into trouble with.
Keep in touch and let me know how you are doing!!

Hi everyone!
I just had my first DTG meal. Italian chicken w/coucous. Was really good.
I'm trying DTG as an effort to get my eating under control.

Oh! I forgot to mention diet hot cocoa. If I'm feeling munchie, I sip a cup of diet hot cocoa (25 calories) and that seems to settle me down until my next meal.

Does DTG food contain any artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols? I don't do well with things like Splenda and maltitol....gives me GI problems. Thanks.

Wow it's great to be back! I just got my new low fat food from Diet To Go and as usual, everything was in order (I also like how they did away with that huge clunky movers box and just shipped it in the Styrofoam cooler). They are really trying to go as green as possible and actually, not only does this streamline things with less to throw away, it alerts the shipper that they are dealing with perishable food. They rarely read the boxes, but it's kinda hard to miss a cold Styrofoam cooler!
I've been doing the low carb for weeks so this will be a much needed change for me. I just had an absolutely scrumptious lunch! Deliciously decadent grilled ham and cheese on french toast bread. Fabulous artichoke and mushroom salad with a homemade dish of peach yogurt that was truly yummy! Already I am impressed and the calories are much lower than the low carb plan, so hopefully I will stay on a roll here. The food looks incredible and I'm saving over $120.00 a month by going to the low fat, so this will be easier on my pocketbook too. Majorly thrilled to have found DTG!! :carrot:

Talk about ironic. I was literally just coming here to talk about the snapper and corn polenta! I could not believe how delicious that was! Just had that for dinner and it was incredible! I have a feeling this is going to be even more delicious for me than even the low carb was. LOVING this food! I have to admit I was missing carbs badly. I also felt off balance not having any fruits or grains and stuff like that, but that had to be the best snapper I have ever had (and this is diet food)!

Hi I posted this question before but didn't get any reply, so I'm trying again. Does DTG food contain any artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols?
Also, I see that the value plan only includes entrees, not side dishes or fruit. I'm a bit uneasy about eating fruit I haven't picked out myself. I am very picky when it comes to my fruit - don't like squished strawberries or fruit with blemishes etc. What kind of fruit do they send you and is it really in good condition?
Thanks in advance

Mustang -
Check out their web site: diet to go . com(take out the spaces). I believe they do not add preservatives, but the site has that info.
The only fresh fruit I had (and I've only been on the program for 4 days) was an apple. It was perfect.
Before I deceided to try this I spent about 2 hours on their site, looking at menus, nutritional values, etc. I also googled diet to go and there is quite a bit of info out there. Check it out.
Next week, I'll be getting lunch & dinner only, and will create my own breakfast. Cereal, yogurt, fruit, protein drink - are some of my favs.

I was just going to add the same thing. The site itself has a lot of information or you can simply call and ask (they are very helpful there). One of the things that attracted me to Diet To Go is that they do not use any of those artificial sweeteners because that stuff gives me horrible headaches (they also use very little soy if any which I appreciate-it's mainly on the veggie diet only). I don't want artificially filled donuts, pastries and stuff like that because it's not really healthy at all. Actually it's very common to have a very explosive reaction to Malitol and Sorbitol (in fact they are famous for this). They do not use either however interestingly enough, I now buy these low carb chocolate bars that contain a better form of Malitol and I do not explode like I usually do (Ross Chocolate bars which are delicious). I only eat one bar at a time of course and so far so good (knock on wood)!
As for the fruit, I am stunned by how perfect it is because Pure Foods fruit disappointed me when I was on that one. Beautiful firm crisp apples that are truly yummy with Diet To Go! In fact I am really liking the low fat program because they include snacks within the meals. You will often get little accompanying things like Pineapple slices, chocolate pudding, homemade yogurt with slivers of fruit, breadsticks, Terra chips and stuff like that).
Very pleased with both the low carb and now the low fat plan! I'll never run out of food options because when I am done with my 5 weeks of the low fat meals, I will switch back to the low carb. This company definitely gives you more variety and choices than any other plan I have seen and their customer service can't be beat. Really is wonderful. Also now that I am doing the low fat plan, I am close to spending what I used to spend regularly each week! I pretty much spent about $125.00 a week before doing meal delivery so this is awesome! Had the Smoked Chicken and Swiss sandwich today and it was quite good. God I missed those carbs!!!

Thanks so much for the replies. I have looked around a lot on the DTG website, but didn't see anything about if they use artificial sweetener. I'm happy to hear that they don't, and I definitely think I'm going to give DTG a try! Thanks again. :)

I haven't seen any of that junk in their food, but then again I was on the low carb plan for weeks and that has no sugar of any kind for the most part. The only thing that could possibly contain anything artificial as far as sweeteners goes would maybe be the puddings or the yogurts (in fact yes on that because they do include a couple of containers of Yoplait Light) but those are very few and far between (and of course you do not need to eat those yogurts).
You will be hard pressed to find a diet program that does not include some degree of artificial sweeteners because they all pretty much do, however this one uses less than any other I have ever seen (and again just the yogurts and stuff like that). Bistro uses them in their morning pastries and donuts. Jenny Craig uses them in all her desserts (which are yummy by the way, but gave me a headache nonetheless). There is no such thing as perfection in any plan really because all have their high and low points, but I really believe this one is the best for many reasons (and again very little soy and stuff like that which I can't handle). So far I have not found anything negative about the Diet To Go plan, but you can rest assured that if I do, I won't have any problems dishing about it because a cult member I'm not. I don't own stock or anything in these companies and am certainly not afraid to speak my mind. I do wish they would use better heating trays, however that has not been a big issue for me.
I would call and ask if you have any further concerns because again, they are quite friendly and helpful (they will know more about all the particulars than we will). Good luck to you. :)

Thank you Princess. You are right, it seems just about all the diets include artificial sweeteners. Since you say this one has very little, I will give it a try. I would love to do a more organic whole food type of diet, but right now my life is very stressful and I have so much on my plate so to speak that I just don't have the time for meal planning etc. So I'm going to use DTG to tide me over, jump start my weight loss, and get me motivated again. I've been on Nutrisystem in the past and the food was pretty awful. I lost weight because I was starving most of the time from not eating the food they would send because it was so gross. That was a few years ago.
Within the past year I have lost 40 pounds on my own and also tried a bit of Weight Watchers, but WW requires a lot of planning if you want to succeed, although I do like their approach.
Anyways, I've recently gained back about 10 of the 40 pounds and I want to stop that in its tracks. So I'm going to order my first shipment of DTG today. Thanks again for the help, I'm sure you'll be seeing me around here more often now.

Hey Mustang,
I feel your pain, I really do. I had always been thin and began to put on weight when my thyroid went completely berserk (my TSH level was 180 which is insane). I was a size 4 most of my life so when I ballooned up to a 16, it was tough to face. I've tried quite a few diets and none have ever really worked for me. I finally realized that I am like so many others out there who do so much better if the food is already prepared and ready to eat. I am looking at this type of plan for life actually. As long as I can afford it, I would actually prefer to have my meals shipped to me being already nutritionally sound and planned out. It just works better for someone like me. So even when I lose the weight, I would still like to have meal delivery. It's convenient, the food is tasty and I get a constant variety. With so many meal delivery plans springing up now, you can never really get totally bored with the selection. If you get tired of one companies food, just switch to another's and back again, which is what I plan on doing.
I am learning some valuable things from meal delivery that are inherent from just doing the plan week after week. I am learning what a correct portion size really is and what types of foods are better for me etc.
I also tried Nutrisystems and wanted to love it so badly because it would actually be cheaper than what I spend normally, but I honestly could not handle the food. I really tried but ended up giving most of it away to people who wanted to know what a Nutrisystem meal was like. I did like Jenny Craig however I never really lost like I wanted to on that plan (about ten pounds, but the food became real old real fast). I also did not like how I had to add so many things because it is already a relatively expensive plan. Even though I am a Success Plus member, I took real issue with the fact that you could wait a darn year there and all they would come up with is maybe a new cheesecake or a new soup and that's not going to cut it (it's one thing to get them in the door, but you need to find ways to keep them and if you never change your food, you will lose them or not keep them as long as you could). Many of us complained and were told to just spice it up. Put different spices on their already tired food (not the answer). I just could not face that same tired food again and again with no real influx of new stuff ever coming in. For the most part though, It's a good program
I had an absolutely horrid experience with Bistro's customer service, so I never did get to try their program (and was really put off by them telling me that I would need to buy an additional meal each week which is ludicrous to me if I am paying for a meal delivery service).
I tried Pure Foods Fresh Start and that is a pretty decent program. The food is fresh and tasty and the customer service excellent. The chicken on that program is the best I have ever tasted in my life, but many of the foods began to bore me and all seemed to taste a like to me. I was not as impressed as I wanted to be on that one, though again a pretty decent one.
If it were not for Cheeseheader (another poster here) I would never have even known about Diet To Go because I somehow managed to miss that one in my research. The customer service is the best I could ever hope for (they really are wonderful actually). I was stunned by how delicious the food is on the Low Carb plan. The Prime Rib, Short Ribs, all the omelets.....delectable and I was not that hungry because it was mainly protein. I am insulin resistant so I did very well on the low carb plan. I am now on the Low Fat plan and the food is also delicious (though I am more hungry on this one because carbs tend to make me more hungry). I am going to see how well I do on this one for a week or two and if I am not losing like I was on the low carb, I will just switch back early to the low carb.
I have never tried any of their snacks because I like to choose my own. I like to have a cup of hot cocoa or a low carb chooalate bar everyday. I also like to have an apple. pear or some string cheese so I just provide my own. Keep in mind that snacks from a diet company will almost always have artificial sweeteners in them (you might need to ask). Snacks usually do contain a lot of those kinds of things.
Good luck and glad to have you around. :)

Wow totally amazed at how delicious a bagel can be after it's been frozen fresh and shipped out. I honestly had my doubts about the bread on this. Thinking it would not taste very good after being microwaved, but actually the bagel was scrumptious! I kept it wrapped in the plastic over wrap and microwaved it on 1 1/2 minutes on defrost (30% power). Then I simply toasted it and it was perfect! Also the amount of low fat cream cheese they give you is actually the perfect amount (more than I expected really). You get a nice thick layer of cream cheese on each half. Yummy!
I thought the meatloaf sandwich was gross. That was the first meal I have ever had with them that I thought was just gag material. It was this odd sort of pureed beef and onion mix that tasted like nothing. Also not thrilled with the salad that came with that so next time I will substitute this if I know it's coming up. I'm also going to start taking my Carb Intercept again so that I can cut some of these carbs in half that I am getting on this plan. I forgot all about my Carb Intercept and that stuff really helps to deflect some of the carbs. Back to drugstore.Com to order more.

Checking in to report I lost 8.8 lbs on my first week! Yippee.
Tonight was Orange Roughy, with Israel coucous. It was wonderful.
I changed my order for next week. Not getting breakfast, I can do that on my own.
I agree, the meatloaf sandwich wasn't all that great, but I ate it anyway. I'm finding the lunches are pretty basic, but I really like not having to think about what to make for lunch the night before.
Here's to a good week!

Oh wow Brenda that's awesome!!! You must be so excited. That's a great start! You know as much as I am loving this change of pace with the Low fat version, I'm a a little shaky and hungry again (wasn't that way at all on the low carb version of Diet To Go). I already have a weeks worth of low fat food coming on Tuesday, but I may switch over to the low carb after I finish out next week. Even though some of these foods are delicious on the low fat, I am finding more that I don't like on this version than I did with the low carb. Also you lose more on the low carb faster (even the rep admitted this at Diet To Go). I think I will do a little switching back and forth to keep things interesting, but sticking more with the low carb for me.
I wasn't hungry or shaky at all on the low carb plan because of all the protein, but on this one with all the bread and fruit and stuff, I am not doing as well. I'm insulin resistant so I guess it was better for me to stay on the low carb. Oh well. the food is for the most part pretty yummy on this plan however not impressed with some of the lunches (did not like the Salmon Burger or the Meatloaf burger at all). Having those tiny muffins (and they are super tiny) does nothing to keep me full all morning whereas the omelets on the low carb plan kept me going.
On a personal note (lol), I went to the bathroom better on the low carb plan and maybe that was because they loaded you up with veggies with each and every meal including breakfast.
I will be curious also to see how much extra weight I lose by doing the low carb plan again, but this time with Natrol's Carb Intercept (did not do those with the plan before and they help to absorb carbs so you really put things into overdrive). I will miss some of this food though. Some of it is truly yummy and it does get boring eating the same things. I'll just make more substitutions because they do give you a lot of chicken. I miss that Andoiulle Sausage the most (God that was decadent)!

Which plan will a person lose faster on? I am on the vegetarian plan and a bit disappointed because I have only lost 5 lbs in two weeks. Is this normal?
PrincessDietMuch
03-01-2009, 03:16 AM
Oh wow 5 pounds in two weeks is actually pretty good. That's a very healthy weight loss! As you know, vegetarian and low carb plans are night and day so I don't know how you would even be able to do a low carb plan. Most vegetarians I know would freak with the low carb plan. You will lose more on a low carb plan because of the dynamic that is set up in your body (it begins a chain reaction) but it's all meat! I loved it because I got a yummy omelet nearly every day and the veggies are delicious. The sauces are wonderfully gourmet. You get things like Short Ribs (my favorite), Prime Rib, Cheese stuffed baked Chicken, Andouille Sausage which is my to die for favorite meal) stuff like that (the hamburger is the most delicious I have ever tasted and I am funny about my burgers). It's not a matter of whether or not you will lose weight although I realize that everyone is different, but can you handle all that meat because you are now on a vegetarian plan?!!
You might want to call and talk to one of the customer service reps. They are all very nice. The two I have spoken with admit that people seem to lose more on the low carb plan, but not everyone can handle the restrictions of the diet such as no muffins, pastas or bread etc. It's definitely a decadent plan where you get some very decadent food, but sometimes it is tough with no muffins or pasta (of course you can take a day off here and there if you want and just get a pasta meal or have a muffin). You do get plenty of veggies though.

Thanks Princess.
I like the varity of the low cal plan, but would like it better with whole grains instead of white bread. I've been adding a string cheese to te breakfast, so I'll have some protein.
Article all over the news this past week...eat fewer cals and you'll lose weight. Go figure! As far as which plan to choose, I'd say go with what you like and look at how you'll be able to incorporate those foods into your life. Remember, we need to eat healthy for the rest of our lives. Not just diet to get the weight off fast. Stats say 1-2 lbs per week is a good loss.
Have a great week.

03-01-2009, 06:51 PM
Well we've all known for years that eating lower calories will make you lose weight. If you eat 3500 calories less than you normally do per week, that generally equals 1 pound of weight loss per week (old news). I do like the variety on the Low Fat plan except that I am getting those terrible shaky days where I am hungry and craving even more carbs than I am eating (that did not happen on the Low Carb plan for me).
We are all engineered differently of course. What works for some will not work for others and vice versa (though I can't see someone who is a vegetarian doing the all meat Low Carb plan...lol). Unless of course they are doing the vegetarian plan just because it sounded interesting, but they still like meat.
I don't like the higher calories of the low carb plan at all. That puts me off but I admit I lost more weight due to the chemical reaction it gave me. I have already thought ahead. I think doing a low fat plan for life after I've shed the weight is in order for me as a lifetime maintenance thing (with an emphasis more on protein). I'm already learning portion control by merely receiving these meals each week. The carbs are making my sugar spike and I am needing even more food and so this chain reaction is not working out as well for me. I agree whatever works, that's the best plan for you. :)

Darn what to do what to do. I just looked at what week 4 is comprised of with the low fat plan and it looks delicious! All foods I want to try (argh). I may decide to go another week after next week and then switch over to the Low Carb again (if I do that I will load up on my Carb cutting supplements). This is a tough one because week 4 is not that hot with the low carb plan, but has all the good foods for the low fat plan. God I wish I could afford that Chefs Diet delivery that all the stars do. The food looks so amazing and so fabulously decadent yet low calorie. (could not believe how many celebs do that plan but when you go there, there's tons that get this meal delivery plan). I may call tomorrow just for the heck of it to see what's what. It looks like the cheapest forms is $32.00 a day which is about $30.00 more a week than Bistro. God that's outrageous but I swear the food looks like pure heaven! The food is mouth watering and yet totally pure and healthy. I have a feeling there's a catch and it's more for shipping or something. I'll soon find out.

That's why I was thinking what the heck! lol! No way is a vegetarian going to want to do a Low Carb plan because it's a lot of meat, eggs and stuff like that.
Wow that's not like them to send the wrong food. Make sure you call them and let them know what they have done and insist they make it right. The problem is that once they are done cooking and packaging everything up over the weekend, they can no longer ship food out past Monday. I learned the hard way when I stopped my service with them to try Bistro (Dear Lord what a nightmare that was) and the girl at Diet To Go wanted to help me so badly, but couldn't in the end. She really wanted to ship out food to me on that Tuesday, but there was literally no food left! You need to call them right away when this happens (I know they do not deliver on a weekend so you must have gotten this last week I am guessing)? Didn't you call them? They should actually give you a substantial discount or a free week if they sent the low fat plan to a vegetarian. Also if they did this, they may have you signed up incorrectly and might be doing it again this week so you need to call right away! That's not right. Let us know how you make out. :)

The Lunch Report
My lunch today was DECADANT. I'm off schedule, because I had surgery last Wednesday, so I'm eating whatever lunch or dinner sounds good at the moment. What sounded good today was this...
“The Jamie”-[Tomato, Swiss, Pesto, & Blue Cheese on French Toast],Black Bean Soup, Apple Juice
...and boy, was I right! This sandwich was delicious. I took it directly from the freezer to the oven, (transferring it to a baking dish, of course) and let it bake for about 40 minutes at 300. I put the soup in a glass bowl along side it, and it warmed up beautifully.
It's so nice to feel so satisfied, and still be losing weight!

Hello ListMates,
Just wanted to update you on receiving the wrong meal plan last week. I ordered vegetarian, DTG mistakingly sent the traditional plan. See that's what I'm talking about. That's customer service. It's how you should be treated when there is a problem. What I experienced with another company was nothing short of horrific on every level and it derailed me,. It sent me on a course that screwed me up royally for a couple of weeks actually. I wrote that company a strong letter that should have elicited a response from a dead person and nothing (and I sent copies to the attention of the owner and the general manager). Not one response which is what I got when the problem was ongoing actually. Nobody seemed to even care. It still has me seeing red because it was completely outrageous and I definitely did not deserve that kind of treatment.
Diet To Go has been amazing and I'm not surprised they offered you a full week of free food. They are first class with their customer service and that customer service seems to translate to everyone! It's not a hit or miss with them. They are always wonderful to their customers. I was stunned at how hard they tried to help me when the other company left me out to dry. They tried so hard to get food out to me even though it was way past their deadline. It was impressive...very and I will not forget that. Glad to hear that they took care of you. :)

Now that worries me and has always been a concern for me. When I first came out here I was very concerned about these meal plans shipping food ground (I had been a longtime JC member and was used to them shipping overnight only on dry ice and of course common sense tells me this should be shipped fastest way possible). I've been lucky since my food comes out of Virginia and is only a one day transit time for me here in PA. I know that Diet To go has other locations across the country, but I'm not sure if they only ship out of Virginia or from a closer center to you etc. I am very honest therefore I won't tell you that this wouldn't concern me. There are people out here who get deliveries from this and other meal delivery services where it takes days to arrive that swear everything is all right so maybe it will be (4 days would make me nervous though). Not sure about that at all. It may be fine now but summer time would scare me. When you get it, obviously inspect it to make sure it is still frozen. You may get a few meals that are starting to defrost so I would eat those first and put them in the fridge.
If you get things defrosted on a larger scale, definitely call Diet To Go and let them know. The girl was telling me that they can throw in extra ice if they get problem areas due to transit time. What state are you in and have you checked the tracking number to see what date it shipped and from where?

Ok, so I'm supposed to get my first shipment tomorrow, Thursday. From what I understand they ship stuff out on Monday. So...I was just wondering... is the food really okay to be traveling for 4 days? Won't it thaw out? :?:
I have gotten 4 shipments so far. Mine arrives on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. The food is frozen SOLID when it arrives. There is also very large chunk of dry ice left in the box. The food is frozen SO solid, that it takes 2-3 days for it to thaw out enough to eat. Any salads or fruit cups that come, I put right into the fridge, because it takes so long for them to thaw.
I think if people were having problems with food arriving thawed, DTG wouldn't be getting such great reviews. I searched for some time before making a decision on which plan to go with, and I couldn't find anything negative about DTG, except for someone who complained that they thought it would be too monotonous. I disagree, the way I ate before repeated meals a lot more often then 5 week cycles that DTG has.
I have been completely satisfied with the program, and highly recommend it!

Princess, I am in south Florida. I have been checking the tracking and it is coming from VA, just as you say. With Nutrisystem it was never a concern how long delivery took, but this just seems weird that they wouldn't ship it faster since everything is frozen :(
On top of that, UPS usually makes deliveries in my area very late, between 6 and 8 p.m. most of the time.....so it may be out there all day tomorrow. I'm hoping for a miracle that UPS comes early tomorrow. DTG really should improve on their shipping for the safety of their customers.

I have to agree with you Mustang. It would absolutely bother me living in Florida and having this take 4 days to arrive. In fact there are meal plans that I chose not to do because their shipping centers would be too far away. You have every right to worry but you may be just fine (not sure how that would work in the summer though). I have always thought it was positively bizarre how UPS and Fed Ex store our packages and deliver them on trucks with no air conditioning. If anything, it's a miracle that half of what we get comes intact with those conditions.
I have had shipments come from JC where it was shipped overnight in the summer and all the dry ice was melted! Freaked me out and that happened a few times actually. I will be crossing my fingers for you (the least they could do when someone is as far out as you, is ship it UPS Orange three day)! Let us know how you make out. :)
P.S. Just so you know, it's not just Diet To Go that does this. They all seem to do this now which freaked me out when I went looking around. A couple of them gave me 3 and 4 day transit times and I said no thank you and never bothered (I thought that was just crazy). Of course you can pay more to have it shipped faster, but that is something they should split with you knowing your situation and wanting your business at the same time.

Hmm, I didn't know you could pay extra for expedited shipping. If I really like the food and decide to stick with DTG maybe I will have to just pay the extra. I will let you know how the shipment looks when it arrives.

My food just arrived and it seems to be fine! Of course the dry ice was gone but everything was still very cold and still hard, so I guess still frozen. The bag with the bagel and muffins was a bit thawed, but still very cold to the touch.
Is there anywhere online where I can see the ingredients of the muffins? I see the black trays have ingredient labels on them, but the bag with the bagel and muffins has nothing. :)

Forgot to ask....do I store all the meals in the fridge or the freezer? Online the instructions say to keep meals "refrigerated" but on the packages it says "keep frozen". Which is it?
bgpa
03-05-2009, 06:05 PM
Anything that's a "salad" or other item that is to be eaten cold, I put in the fridge. If it's something that has to be re-heated, I usually just leave them in the freezer. Anything that's a "burger" on a roll, I take out a day ahead, and reheat both in the oven because I like a nice toasty roll.
Sometimes I take other items out of the freezer ahead of time, just to save cooking time. Things like chili or ravioli work out fine no matter what I do to them.
"Melts" on the other hand, I ALWAYS take straight from the freezer to the oven. If you let them thaw first they go mushy.

FWIW, dry ice temp is -78.5 degrees C, so it frozen much colder than your freezer gets it. That gives it some leeway after the dry ice is gone.

I just found on the DTG website the instructions for how to store the food. It says to store the first 3 days of food in the fridge and the last 4 days of food in the freezer. Then, on day 3, you take out the remaining 4 days that are in the freezer and transfer them to the fridge.
Just wanted to throw that out there in case anyone else needed to know. The website, IMO, could be a little better organized. The information seems a bit scattered and difficult to find.
Anyway, I'm having my first DTG meal tonight, the Orange Roughy, and I can't wait to get started on the plan!!

For me personally, I never put any of it in the fridge. I store it in the freezer and simply microwave each thing when it's due to be eaten. I told the rep that and she said that this was not a problem. That the only downside is that some of the food may seem runnier that way. I solved that problem by scooping it out of the tray when it's done and putting it on a plate. It looks nicer and I leave the runny stuff (condensation) behind in the tray. This worked better for me with the low carb plan because it's all meat and veggies. Bread is a bit trickier. I have learned to put the bread in a paper towel instead of wrap. Zap it just enough to make it soft and pliable. Then I take out the middles of the sandwiches if it's that type of sandwich, and heat it longer on the plate.
The low fat plan has so many little containers and things so you need to sort of do it in stages, but eventually you get the hang of it. I'm a but of a germphone so I didn't like the idea of letting the food sit in my fridge for a few days even though I am sure it's fine (just me). Also I did not want to be locked in to having to eat that particular food if I didn't feel like it on any particular day. The freezer just works better for me. :)

I actually really enjoyed the Orange Roughy a lot, but I agree the Couscous was not a fave rave for me.
I am thrilled that Die To Go has begun using full coolers to ship the food. I am noticing that the food is frozen solid when it gets here and we no longer have those huge clunky boxes to break down anymore and toss. Plus it gives more of a heads up to UPS that they are handling perishable items. You can't miss the fact that it's a cooler!
I can barely contain myself waiting for my low carb food to arrive next week. I swear this low fat thing has just thrown me for a loop. I've cheated more then I normally do and with all carbs. I am craving them like crazy and my blood sugar is so off. Thank God Diet To Go has three plans to choose from. I will miss a few of the foods from the low fat plan but will be gad to be back to the Atkins approach again!

Ok....so I feel like I'm the only one complaining here :( Last night I had the orange roughy, which was okay. Well, the cous cous was not okay, but anyway.... This morning I had the bagel. I was starving all the way until lunch, when I had the turkey sandwich with tomato and mushroom salad. To me the sandwich and salad were both pretty gross, but I was so starving I ate them anyways. Ok, then I was starving until dinner, when I had the tamale pie. I took one bite of it and threw it out. It was SO spicy!! Even besides the spice, I didn't like the flavor at all.
I'm getting discouraged, maybe this isn't for me :?:

Mustang don't feel badly about complaining or sharing your honest thoughts with us. We're not a cult here. It really is OK to say bad things and good things about the diet plans we are on. There is no politically correct here (or at least there shouldn't be). I don't think we have any plants here or people who secretly work for the company etc.
I have to agree that I am not impressed with the low fat plan at all and I am a huge Diet To Go fan. I think their strength really is their low carb plan, but that's just my opinion for what it's worth. The Prime Rib, The delicious, fall apart Short Ribs, the many luscious omelets you get every morning with those massive sausage links, the Andouille Sausage that I could have every day of the week it's so delicious, the yummy Baked Salmon dishes and the hamburger (OMG those are so delicious with the charred edges and everything)! In fact even their sauteed veggies in those wonderful sauces were the best I have ever tried in my life (the spinach was incredible)!
Those were the things that really made Diet To Go stand out for me and those are all on the low carb plan I began with. In fact it was because of Cheeseheader (another poster out here) that I wanted to try that one. When she told us about the delicious short ribs and how she had a nice juicy pork chop her first night for dinner, I was suddenly VERY Interested in Diet To Go! I was in love with the food and even my husband was fighting me for some of it because he could not believe how great the food looked and smelled (and he was right). I'm not getting any of that excitement with the low fat plan.
For the first time in my life, I was not hungry on the low carb plan at all. I could go for hours and that generally happens with diabetics, pre-diabetics or insulin resistant people and I am insulin resistant. We do so much better on a high protein very low carb plan. I have a feeling you would maybe feel like I do that the low carb and the low fat being night and day as far as quality and everything, but you are a vegetarian so this would obviously not be an option for you. I say give it a full week because there will be days where the foods are not your favorites and other days where the food rocks, but I have to agree that the low fat has not impressed me much. But hey different strokes and all that. Just don't ever feel funny about sharing out here because this is after all the very purpose of this forum. hang in there sweetie! :)

Don't get discouraged at this early stage. Play around with the different plans and see if you can find something you like.
I feel the same way as you do about the low fat diet plan. It is carbohydrate heavy, and although sometimes my husband and I switch meals (I am on the low carb plan), I tend to get really hungry after eating his breakfasts. On the low carb plan, I never got hungry between meals when doing dtg for the entire day.
The low carb plan is quite restrictive but you will see results and since the meals are (basically) nothing but protein and vegetables, you will feel satisfied and healthy. Compare breakfast options in the low carb plan: omelets, vegetables, sausage links, etc. The low fat plan is usually some type of waffle, muffin, yougurt, etc.
I am switching to the vegetarian plan (dinners only) for a week or two to see how I like it. The menu looks interesting. There does seem to be enough protein in that plan, but it does contain carbohydrates in the form of beans, etc.
And remember that you can select your favorite meals in your plan and double up to avoid eating meals you do not like. There is a fifty cent charge to do this.
Good luck.

I wouldn't mind trying the low carb plan...but now I'm stuck with this week of food plus they are shipping out another week of low fat food on Monday. I don't know what I'll do after that. Another gripe I have is I don't see an ingredient list for the muffins. I need to know if they have sugar alcohols in them because if I eat that and then go out....well, that will be a disaster. I'm scared to eat them because I don't know what's in them. ::sigh::

Mustang - I don't think the customer staff is there on the weekend. Send them a message, so they'll have it 1st thing on monday.
I noticed you're not eating some items. Be sure you're getting enough calories for the day. Eat something healthy for the items in place of what you're not eating. Under the menus on the web site, (or somewhere) you'll find the calorie amount for each meal. Just my 2 cents.
My first week, I was starving the 1st three days. A couple of the meals, I could have done without, but I ate them anyway. Found the meatloaf sandwich gross. Last nights dinner was white fish and it was really good. Not fishy at all. Shared the steamed baby carrots with the dog. Will be going out to dinner tonight and will have a tostada.
When I finish the 5 weeks of low cal, I might change to the vegg plan. Not sure yet. I'm enjoying the variety of DTG. At least I'm not eating a plain grilled piece of chicken every night.

Hi Ladies!
I'm new here, but not new to DTG, been on and off of the plan since '05. This is the first time I am trying the LoCarb though, I had previously been on the Low Fat and Vegetarian, with no results :(. I have also tried a few other delivery plans, but the food and pricing on DTG is far better!
I think I have a severe intolerance to Carbs, either know I have been tested for all kinds of illnesses and only diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis (which kicks my butt regularly energy and weight-loss wise).
Anyway! Here is a question for those of you on LoCarb:
Do you add snacks in between the meals, and what do you snack on?
I only ask because I do jog 4 miles 4-5 days a week and I'm wondering if I will feel tired or "off" due to lack of carbs (I had tried Atkins a long time ago and felt so bizarre on the plan)
Any help would be appreciated! :D
PrincessDietMuch
03-07-2009, 08:21 PM
Hey Star welcome!
You sound an awful lot like me. I am also Hypothyroid with Hashimoto's. I also have low cortisol and very low acth levels. I am severely insulin resistant as well. My doctor says I am lucky that I am only complaining of about 50 pounds or so because most women with my readings would have much more weight to lose. I never do GREAT on low fat plans. I have lost weight with Jenny Craig but it was never much and I always wondered why (I think JC is a decent program but the food is not as wonderful as Diet To Go's Low Carb). I kept wondering why I could never really drop the way I should. I tried a few other low fat plans and still not much weight loss.
I hit pay dirt when I discovered Diet To Go's Low Carb plan. I was shocked actually. Not only was I not hungry for the first time ever in my life, but I felt none of that awful shakiness or spiking that I got with the low fat plans. I also began to drop weight very fast! I was able to go to the bathroom like you are supposed to every day without using anything and that was a first (my doc explained that carbs can cause a lot of constipation and I can attest to that)! My GERD was reduced a lot! I mean a lot! If you do the research online, you will find that low carb plans are the best way to go for people with severe GERD and heartburn (I have actually been miserable since doing this low fat plan as my GERD is out of control again so I am back to popping the Prilosec and Zantac again).
I could go for hours and be OK without any snacks, but because I am insulin resistant, I would eat a string cheese or have a cup of hot cocoa if I wanted in between (yes the cocoa is carbs, but not much in the whole scheme of things and a cup of delicious cocoa can last and last and I use Lactaid fat Free Milk to give it a boost). If I did have a bad day where I was extra hungry and didn't feel like the string cheese, I would scramble up some eggs or have a few Jimmy Dean Turkey Sausage Patties which are yummy. I keep those in the house because they are low crab and taste every bit as good as regular sausage and cook right up in the microwave (though I like to sizzle them in a pan after I zap them).
Even though they say snacks are not to be eaten, most of us find our own comfort zone because we are not one size fits all. Also diabetics and people like me cannot go hours without something or our blood sugar will plummet. I get that a lot less on low carbs (in fact I didn't feel like I even needed to snack on the low carb plan), but like I said, the string cheese, the turkey sausage, a low carb chocolate bar and stuff like that has gotten me through in between. Hope that helps. :)
Oh and Mustang, simply call them on Monday and remind them that you are the girl who got sent the wrong food. Explain to them that you want to continue on the plan, but you can already tell you are not going to like the low fat plan because the food has been awful for you. Let them know that you had heard that the low carb might be the one you would be most happy with and that you dread the idea of going another week on the low fat now that you have tried it. That it's just not for you. Simply tell them that you want them to send the low carb plan instead and that they were going to send you a free week due to their error, so can they send you that one. That if there is any chance at all to switch now, you really want to do so before it is shipped out. You may get lucky and then again you may not if everything is already packaged up and ready to ship. Worst case scenario is that you get a week of free low fat food next week and actually next week looks good on that plan (food looks good).
Keep in mind that the low carb plan is more expensive because you are getting a much more decadent selection (prime rib, short ribs, yummy omelets and quiche...stuff like that). If you are not offended by meat or a strict vegetarian which I am guessing at this point you are not, you may fall in love with the low carb like some of us have. You will have to try it and see. Good luck and keep the faith! :)

Wow, thanks Princess! Your post is very inspiring to me. This is my 2nd day on the LoCarb and I do feel satisfied for about 4 hours or so, but then I get REAL munchy right before the next meal, and being a snacker at heart I did buy a thingie of fresh mozzerella balls, sugar free yogurt and sugar free fudge bars. Its the mozzerella balls that are saving me. But the food is fab! Its much better than I thought it would be, even the veggies, and I avoid all non-salad veggie servings, normally.
I know what you mean about the "backed up" thing. At one point in my life, I had a stressful job and had the opposite issue with IBS, but the past 2 years its just the opposite, its almost a joke. SO, I am looking forward to regulating a bit!
The only thing I see they shipped this week, that I remember eating and disliking, is the cioppini seafood medly. Is it just as awful as I remember? It totally reminded me of like, the giant octupus in Popeye the movie. Almost frightening. I won't eat anything that may suction itself to the inside of my mouth.
PrincessDietMuch
03-08-2009, 12:01 AM
That's too funny. Yeah I am not a major fan of the Cioppino, but actually it's not too bad (it's not a fave rave for me either though). I just substitute what I don't like. Next week I made 5 substitutions and they never charge me which is great. I am getting an extra prime rib and an extra short rib with some yummy omelets instead of the quiches. I love how the low carb is basically a chemical reaction so you can eat some higher calorie foods and still lose as if you were eating low calorie low fat stuff. In fact it seems to make the fat burn off faster.
I love making those Jimmy Dean Turkey Sausage Patties because they are so delicious and even better than the regular kind (and I am a major sausage lover)! You can have 2 nice big patties for only 120 calories or so and only 1 carb in the whole serving! Sometimes if I get extra hungry, I will scramble up some eggs with two patties and that's still under 250 calories and no carbs. I mainly snack on string cheese and chocolate milk or hot cocoa. I do love those Ross Sugar Free Milk Chocolate bars as they are low carb and yummy. The ChocoPerfection Low Carb bars are very nice, but insanely priced! I can't wait until week after next because we get that Andouille Sausage and I swear that is the most decadent and delicious sausage I have ever tasted in my life (I'm doubling up on that one for sure). Huge spicy, delicious link that is to die for (love the veggies with that too). I hear you on the veggies. I can't get over the sauces they use and everything taste to fresh and yummy! My favorite is the finely chopped and sauteed spinach (not a huge Cauliflower fan though). I NEVER ate veggies. In fact I always felt like an alien because I naturally do not like them but with this plan (the low carb), I was eating tons and it's all tasty and good for me!
I can't wait to get back to the low carb plan because I admit I have been so derailed here. For me one carb leads to another and soon I am doing what I did yesterday (bought a bag of those Gardetto Special Request All Rye Crisps)! Arggh. Apparently I have no darn control here with carbs so back to the drawing board it seems. I am going to be taking Natrol's Carb Intercept as well to make up for the Cocoa and stuff like that.
It's tougher for people like us with thyroid issues but we can do it! :carrot:

I'm new to DTG and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and taste of the food. I'm getting the low-carb, lunch and dinner only 5 days per week plan. I'm not on low-carb per se, but find that low carb for lunch and dinner stick with me longer.
I dislike fish, but decided to try the crab stuffed flounder and will not be getting anymore fish meals! I do, however, like shrimp -- is the Pascale Creole Shrimp Stew good?
I tried eDiets meal delivery and was disappointed. The food was just too carb heavy and didn't satisfy me.

I'm not impressed with Cioppino stews so I always substitute on those, but their salmon dishes are delicious! You will be really missing out if you say no to those! The Catfish is also quite good, however the salmon is one of my favorite things from Diet To Go! It's good stuff! :D
I have to agree about the quality. The Low Carb food is some of the highest quality food I have ever had in the diet world period. I am genuinely surprised by the low fat plan though because I had heard the food was good, but I'm not feeling it here. The low fat plan and the low carb plan are night and day to me (and I'm not talking the principles behind them either).
I've had horrible digestive stuff since I began the low fat plan. At first I thought it was just a bad day or two, but it's nearly everyday for me! Never had any of this on the low carb plan at all. All the sandwiches are a strange sort of spread that you heat up and the meatloaf was like a gross pate or something. All the fruit cups are like mush and the accompanying salads are awful to me. Oh how I wanted to sing the praises of the low fat plan because it saves me almost $120.00 a month, but I can't in all good consciousness do that because that's definitely not been MY experience. I was so happy about the savings too darn't!

I just don't care for fish -- especially salmon -- even tuna! So it's best if I substitute another meal.
I was thinking about changing to the low-fat plan, but I'm glad I came here before changing! Like I said, I'm not low-carbing, but the low-carb meals are still reasonable in calories. And I know they'll keep me satisfied longer than a carb rich meal. That's one of the reasons why I couldn't stick with eDiets -- I was starving right after eating.
Have you thought about trying just the lunch and dinner option, Princess? That's what I'm doing. I've never had a problem with breakfast (usually a cappucino shake) and I can fend for myself two days per week on the 5-day plan. Makes it a lil more affordable.

No way would I consider giving up my Diet To Go Omelets! That's actually one of the reasons I love the Low Carb Plan. All the delicious Omelets with those sausage links are my favorite thing! Love love love their breakfasts! I can't get by on a shake or a muffin in the morning at all. I need breakfasts to be hearty to keep me going and the low carb breakfasts are to die for! I'm actually perfectly fine doing the full low carb plan and will be REALLY happy to be back this week with all my regular food (also I don't mind paying a little more for total structure which is what I need right now)! I was on the low carb plan for 4 weeks and lost 10 pounds. I'll be glad to be back to it again because all of this low fat stuff is definitely not my cup of tea. Carb rich meals leave me shaky and hungry. I'll also be doing the Natrol Carb Intercept to cut down some of the carbs we are given because they are actually a bit high.
Can't wait till my stuff arrives tomorrow! :carrot:

OMG I could cry I am so happy. I can't believe how emotional this has been, but I was literally so happy I almost cried just now unloading my food. Everything looks so delectable. Real food again!!! All the omelets look amazing with those huge sausage links. The Cajun Salmon (which I doubled up on) is huge! The fillets look incredible and I know from past experience they taste delicious (but OMG they are huge)! The prime Rib is so yummy looking and they are large pieces this time. I had the Short Ribs in Mushroom sauce with the Asparagus after unloading everything because I was starving and it was sooooo good (that stuff just falls apart its so tender)! I feel terrible saying this, but it's the honest truth. I have 9 meals from the fat free selection that I just couldn't even face and my husband won't even eat them (he tried two and threw them out so I can't even pawn them off on him.). It kills me all that food going to waste, but honest to God it was awful for me. I tried. I really tried.
Anyway just so darn glad to get some food in here I can eat and enjoy again! yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :carrot:

It's too bad that the Low Fat Plan didn't work out for you. I've been very happy with the Vegetarian plan. We are all different though, and what one person hates, the next person may love. I hope that other people aren't afraid to try some of the different plans, and find the one that works for them. The more support we have here, the better!!

I've removed a few posts here that were unnecessary. If anyone questions this, please PM me directly :)
I think everyone agrees that Diet to Go is a great service. One reason they offer so many plans (low fat, low carb, vegetarian, etc) is because we all have different tastes and personal needs. Good luck to you all, you're doing great!

Is anyone getting the "special value plan"?
I never drink the juices they send, and I can easily buy the apples and oranges on my own. The only problem though, is that I currently make my own breakfasts. The muffins and bagel just weren't doing it for me, so I made up a bunch of my own with egg beaters with peppers, onions, mushrooms and veggie sausage and another one with 2 flax seed pancakes and veggie sausage. This has been working well for me, so I hate to mess it up...but I also hate to pay the shipping for all of that juice and fruit. Oh...I guess it wouldn't save me anything on the shipping, because breakfasts probably weigh more than the fruit and juice did! There is only $1 difference between the lunch and dinner only plan that I am on now, and the special value, entrees only plan.

Hey all!
I've been lurking for too long and decided to finally sign up and say hello. This board has been a huge help. I just signed up with DTG and I'm on my first week. I love the plan so far!
Princess, I really hope you will continue to post because I think you would be sorely missed out here. Your posts are what drew me to this thread. I really enjoyed your insight and your honesty. Please continue to drop by and share. I could use your help as I go along. :)

Hi Lisa!
Glad you came out of lurkdom! Which plan are you doing? For lunch today I had the Kelly sandwich and what I thought was a chocolate cupcake, but turned out to be a brownie! The sandwich was just "ok"...but the brownie rocked! I felt guilty eating it, but they must know what they're doing, I've lost 9 lbs. so far.

Wow! 16 lbs!! Congratulations!
My loss has been slower, I'm just shy of 10 lbs, but I can't exercise right now because I had a hysterectomy 2 weeks ago. My dr. says 2 more weeks and I can start taking walks.
DTG has been a lifesaver though during my recovery. In fact, one of the reasons I decided to start the program was so that I wouldn't have to worry about having someone fix meals for me. DH or DD just pop my meals on a plate and nuke away!
Congrats again on your success!

Thanks Barb.
I like the convenience also. I don't have to think about what I'm going to have for dinner. I've been off work with a nasty sore throat/flu/cold thing, and I had a friend go pick up my food yesterday.
Have a wonderful week.

Hey there, haven't posted in awhile but I might be coming back to Diet to Go. I did better when I did it and really feel like I need to have that structure. Life has been really stressful because my husband lost his job last week and I have been eating like crazy. So I talk to him tonight and since we have to modify the budget anyway, we are going to include some diet to go orders. I think it will be almost a relief not to have to think about making food.
Anyway, I think I'm going to do the low carb again, I really enjoyed that and I really didn't see much on the low fat that I liked.
So, I'll post soon when I get my order. I'm going to call Monday and order and hopefully I can get a shipment soon. Later!

Tonights dinner was chili. There was quite a bit of shreeded cheese to add, it almost looked like too much. So I cut the roll in half, placed cheese on each half, nuked...it was great. I had put about 1/3 of the cheese in the chili while it heated. Yummy.
Will pick up week 5, 3 days, tomorrow.

I had macaroni and cheese with broccoli and carrot coins. It was good, nothing spectacular though.
I have a backlog of meals in the freezer right now due to the time I wasn't allowed to eat for my pre-op testing, and then when I was in the hospital. My plan though is to wait for Week 3 to roll around again, and not get that week delivered since it's my least favorite.

Unfortunately yes. She was made to feel like she might be scaring people away because she was telling us honestly how much she disliked the low fat version. I felt terrible for her because she was so refreshingly honest and real. I am fully capable of making up my own mind and an opinion is most certainly not going to scare me away from trying whatever I want to try (I don't want the truth sugar coated for me)! I was very sorry to see her go. I liked that she didn't do all that robotic cheering. It's what drew me in. I can see I am not alone. :(
Kind of hoping she will do an about face and come back. She was so vibrant and funny. I miss her presence out here.

I have read several posts of people who do like it, just like I read posts of people who don't like the low carb.

well....I'm waiting to hear back from DTG. Today's delivery was my first bad experience. 3 of the packages weren't shrink wrapped, and looked as though they had been thawed and re-frozen. They arrived frozen solid, but they were mushed all over the packaging, including underneath the black tray. There was another meal, Chugwater Chili that came with a biscuit. The biscuit was completely flattened on top of the chili container, and broken down the side of it.
This is SO completely opposite of what I've received before. Everything always looked well packaged and appetizing in the past. I sent them an e-mail, and am anxious to hear what they have to say about it.

Barb - I'm sure the customer service dept will respond asap. I don't get food delivered, as I pick up, so I can't address the problem.
On the DTG forum site, there are a couple of bloggers. I remember reading on one of them a couple of weeks ago, his arrived damaged also. Apparently, the packaging is different than before. He even had a picture. You might want to check it out. Sorry, don't remember which of the men blogged about it.
Remember that shippers (regardless of what they ship) don't have any control what happens in transport. Once I got a patio umbrella, and the box had gotten jammed, or something, during transit as there was a hole in the box. As a result of that, some grease got on the material. I had ordered it from a big network retailer and they responded they would send a new one. I told them it was no big deal, I could live with it. They credited my acct $5.
Ok, I have idea what that had to do with your delivery! I've still been under the weather, and it sure is nice not having to think about what to cook. My dog loves licking the dishes. She's so upset when I don't let her lick one that I think might be too spicy.

I don't think this had anything to do with the shipping...the package arrived frozen solid, with dry ice still on top of it, and the bad ones were mixed in with the good ones.
I'm sure that DTG will take care of it. I had one meal before that didn't re-heat well. I sent them an e-mail asking about it, and they gave me a refund for double the cost of the meal!
I'm just surprised at the sudden change in quality. Everything arrived so nice before, but this shipment looked like last months leftovers that sat upsidedown on the counter for a week before they tossed them in! Maybe they hired someone new who didn't understand the quality expectations.

Well so far I've been extremely impressed with the packaging and shipping from Diet To Go. They've been great! Hopefully this won't deter anyone from trying them because so far, they've been wonderful for me (knock on wood)! Perfect packaging and everything perfectly frozen with nothing torn apart. I just love the Pork Chop breakfast, I always have to have a few of those and the Short Ribs, so good!!

Today's lunch was: Black Bean & Feta Cheese Wrap, Wild Rice Salad,Orange Juice...only I didn't drink the juice, I'll eat a piece of fruit later.
The Black bean wrap was yummy, and I think I may halve already talked about the wild rice salad...this is the second time I've had it. When I first looked at it, I didn't think I would like it, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's grainy and chewy and yummy. The orange in it is just the right touch.
I got an e-mail confirmation that DTG had received my message about my shipment, but no response from them yet about the packaging problem. This also isn't like them, any other time that I've had to contact them, the response has been almost immediate. If I don't hear from them tomorrow, I'll give them a call and see what's up. I'm still confident that it was just a fluke, and they'll make it right.

Diet To Go Saves the Day
DTG issued me a credit for the 4 meals that I complained about...but I found out that I was wrong about one of them! The biscut that I complained was smooshed flat is actually supposed to be flat! I guess it's more like a cracker, than a raised biscuit.
They didn't explain why my food was smeared all over the 3 packages, but since they are giving me a credit, I won't worry about it. Into the trash they go!
My compliments again on their customer service, and here's hoping that the packaging goes back to the same quality that it had been before.
My Eggplant Parmesean is in the oven right now, and smells wonderful. Ring the dinner bell!

Yes, it is pretty darn good. I'm actually having a meal I haven't had yet, the chicken parm. It looks great and I can't wait to try it. There's also the chimmuri (sp)? salmon that I also get to try this week so looking forward to that.
One of the things I like about the low carb that I realized today is the variety of protein choices. There's chicken, beef, pork, fish, hamburger and even a veal dish or two. They even have a turkey meatloaf. I tried a different meal delivery when I was scoping things out and trying to decide and I think I had may only a few meals that weren't chicken and the rest was chicken! I like chicken, but not that much!
Also, since my husband doesn't like red meat, I can have those options for myself, while still cooking stuff for him and the kids.

I'm enjoying DTG very much. I've not lost as much as some of the others, but I'm still on bedrest from a hysterectomy 3 weeks ago. I think once I can start moving, I'll be able to lose a little faster.
I'm on the vegetarian plan, and I like the wide variety of meals they send me. I hate when I go out somewhere, and ask about vegetarian options, and they say, "oh, we have salad." Vegetarians to not live by salad alone!
This was my lunch today:
Moroccan Lentil Salad,
Whole Wheat Pita Bread,
Yogurt Mint Sauce, Apple
The salad was actually a hot lentil dish, I don't know why they called it a salad, it was more of a pilaf. Just the right touch of spices. I toasted the two pitas and dunked them in the Yogurt sauce. I'm saving my apple for a snack later.
I find that I'm not hungry on this plan. With other programs and "diets" I have done, I'm always thinking about my next meal. Maybe it's because the food is so satisfying, or maybe it's simply because I don't HAVE to think about my next meal, so I don't think about food.
Either way, it's working. I feel good, I'm losing weight, and I'm enjoying the meals. :df:

Next week I'll start with my 2nd rotation of the low fat plan. I did change two of the meals in one of the weeks that I just didn't care for. The weight just seems to be melting off!
I was just thinking, over the last 4.5 weeks I have had a different meal for lunches and dinners. I love not having to think about what to eat, when to eat, and making my lunch for the next day. After I'm done with this rotation, I'm going to try the veggie plan.
Barb - Thanks for the bananas & carrots. I've been sick with a bug for over a week now, and it's really been nice not to "have" to cook.

You weren't kidding about the food! You and princess were right. The low carb plan is unreal! The steak is thicker than some of the steaks I have gotten at the market! I have had frozen steak dinners before, but nothing like this (these are more like take out steaks). The Chipotle Flat Iron Steak was delicious (loved the Steak and Eggs too). Really liked the Pork Loin and the Roasted Half Chicken. I can't believe this is diet food because it's better than most of my take out! I honestly think I can do this for a long time because this is so unusual. You get a real steady variety of different fish fillet's, pork, steak, and chicken so you don't get bored. My other diets overdosed me on chicken, but this is a real treat with all the omelets and sausage and so much variety.
The Salmon is incredible and so are the cat fish fillets. I'm very impressed. Down another 5 pounds too! :carrot:

Hello all. I just ordered DTG based on all your recommendations! :) I start tomorrow. I want to lose about 30 pounds (I am 159; I would like to get down to at least 130). I have been trying to diet - oh for the last ten years. I just want to lose the weight and have done with it (not stop and start dieting a million times). My biggest problems is the fixing the food part. If it's fixed for me, I will eat it. So this way there is no excuses, no feeling like I don't want to cook.
I am 32. I would like a buddy. Is anyone else starting tomorrow, or just started? I guess you are all kind of buddies in this thread though. =)

Did well this past week, and lost my small gain from the week before. Since Feb 22nd, I've lost a total of 21.8 lbs! :carrot: My pants are getting really baggy! In fact I've set aside a few pairs to take to the thrift shop. They just are tooooo big.
Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Hi Brenda!
Sorry, my job involvles occasional travel, and this month is a doozy. I haven't stepped on the scale since I got home, I'm afraid to....and I leave tomorrow for another 4 days, then again next Monday for another week.
You, on the other hand, are making AMAZING progress!! Congratulations and keep up the good work!!

Wow this thread used to be hopping. Cheeseheader if you are still out there (I think you and I are the only ones on the low carb plan now), holla girl! I am pretty impressed with this food. My roomate is thinking of signing up now because the food is driving her crazy (she has no weight to lose either)! She just loves the food and wants the convenience (yeah I gave her a few bites here and there).
The salmon is so decadent and mouth watering that I want it every day! They've got a darn good supplier whoever it is. It's kind of cool to open up your freezer and have so much variety to choose from (not used to that). I can either have pork loin, baked salmon, short ribs, prime rib, roasted chicken or any number of yummy omelets and all kinds of different fish (love the Cod, Tilapia and Catfish too)! This diet has everything! It's incredible!
Lost 12 pounds so far and feeling no pain. If this is dieting, I can do this forever (well until the money runs out that is). :carrot:

Yeah, I'm still here but I am having to stop delivery for now. Mostly because we are now in a financial crunch with my husband being laid off. But I'm still doing the Low Carb thing and I'm doing South Beach to keep up with the low carb idea.
Glad to see the weight loss , keep it up!!!

Hey guys, hope some of you are hanging around. I've got a question for you. I tried DTG lo-carb, and loved parts of it, but preferred another plan (I'm not a lo-carb kinda gal). However, my across the street neighbor (and excellent friend) has a bunch of weight to lose, and loves doing Atkins, but can't stick with it for all the obvious reasons that those of us addicted to meal delivery understand. As a thank you for being such a good friend (and babysitting my great danes from time to time), I'm going to order a week of the DTG lo-carb for her. If I order this week, I'll get week 5 for her next week. Please let me know if that's a good week (what I need to sub for her) or if I need to wait a week to order to get week 1. Thanks guys. BTW, been keeping an eye on y'all and you're doing great!!

That's a hard one to answer because it's all very subjective and personal. I can tell you that all the weeks seem pretty consistently wonderful so far. Just go to Diettogo's site and click on the mail order, low carb menu and it gives you a choice of the weeks and their menu's. You can easily make substitutions in the managing your account section (or by phone of course).
Week 5 is a wonderful week! That's a really nice thing you are doing for your friend. I have yet to find another mail order, low carb plan out there (They may have higher protein plans, but not like this one).
For me personally, I would double up on the salmon and get rid of the Creole Stew, but that's me. Good luck. :)

I just found this site and wanted to join in and introduce myself. I have been through 1 full week plus part of the second week of the low-fat plan. I am lucky, because I live in Northern Virginia (not sure I've ever uttered that phrase before) where the kitchen is. I can pick up my food fresh from one of many gyms and/or fitness equimpment stores that they partner with here.
I considered the low-carb plan because I've only had dieting success in the past with diets (fad, delivery, or homemade) that focus on normalizing the glycemic response. However, I was a little put-off by the amount of sodium in meals. The low-fat is a little lower, but still exceeds the RDA on some days--though not in the drastic way that the low carb one does. Nevertheless, I am intrigued by some of the meal reviews, and am considering alternating between the 2 (or 3) meal plans, like some others have done.
My experience with the food has met or exceeded my expectations. It's ranged from good-enough to fabulous. I am so grateful to have found this, because despite quite a bit of nutrition knowledge and interest, I tend to binge eat without structure and in stressful times (especially during the winter.) I lost 30 pounds on Nurtrisystem and kept it off for over a year, but I got burned out on the crappy to mediocre packaged food day after day, with little variety and had a bit of a personal tragedy around the same time. I stopped using the program around Nov and turned around in April to realize I had put it all back on plus about 3 pounds.
I am surprised that in the first week of DTG I lost 6.5 lbs! Like I said, the low-fat 50% carb thing recommended by many nutritionists has never been successful for me in the past. I have been terribly hungry and lightheaded a few times between meals, but I made it through. The only thing I wish I could change is the dietary fiber content. A week's worth of meals only has about 60% of the RDA on average. More fiber would control the sugar spikes (fiber and polyunsaturated fats are really the key to regulating glycemic response not protein). On some days I have a snack and always try to chose something with higher fiber content. I also only have one (sometimes none) of the two glasses of milk they recommend, but take a calcium supplement. Has anybody noticed a difference in results of they use the milk or not? (This is proably not part of low-carb, eh?)
It's really great to find a board with other people using the same program. I used to read the NS boards for a while, but rarely posted and pretty quickly stopped because there was too much snarkiness toward other members and the "cult" thing princess was talking about. I read all the posts in this thread. It seems like a nice space.

I hear ya on the cost. It's expensive doing these meal delivery plans. I am giving up a lot to be able to afford this every week so I feel your pain. Glad you're still around. :)
Welcome Clovah! I agree the cultish stuff puts me off as well. I love cosmetics and when I go to cosmetic sites where people give reviews, I want real reviews that include the good, the bad and the ugly. I don't want someone softening the blows for me when I am trying to decide on what foundation or skincare product to try (I can get that crap from the girls at the counters)! I think the people leaving all the reviews are fully aware that we will make up our own minds, but it's refreshing when people just put it out there and are not afraid of how politically correct it sounds. It's a shame we lost princess. I miss her daily check ins. She added a lot to this thread.
As for milk, I add a glass or two and I'm on the low carb because I just need it. It hasn't stood in the way for me at all (I'm still losing). Good luck to you on the program! ;)

Hi everyone! Another beautiful day here in CA.
Had a Dr appt on monday and my weight was something I haven't seen in ages, with my clothes on! It felt great. Then the leftover Easter candy started showing up at work. Overall this past week I was up .8. Darn it.
Picked up the weekend food, so I'm all set to stay at home and not be tempted with anything. And that is my plan for the next two days.
Have a great weekend.

It's beautiful here too. I came home in the middle of the my Saturday errands to make sure I ate lunch at home and not out. Trying to decide whether to get my toes done or wander around in the sunshine. It's a rough life. Down antoher .5 today. Total of 7 in 10 days.

Greetings! :D
I've been lurking for a few days and decided to join up and say hello. Although I not on DTG yet, I will be starting the low-carb program in a few weeks. Finances are a bit tough atm (just starting a new job after a few months of unemployment) but I should be back on track early-mid May. I am really excited and cannot wait to join all of you!

Hi Group,
I'm still on the vegetarian plan and have been very happy with it. So far I have lost 15 lbs - only 10 more to go. Just in time for swimsuit weather. :)

I love the low carb plan, but the calorie and fat content bother me a bit. I think I am going to do the lunch and dinner program only. Most of the breakfasts are 500 calories and although I will miss them, they rack up a lot of calories. I also worry about not getting any live food in me (fresh salad greens and fresh fruit). I think I will be better balanced this way too. I am going to plan to have one of the Jimmy Dean DLite sandwiches (those are screamingly good and half the calories of what I me eating now) in the mornings and alternate between egg beaters and turkey sausage. This will afford me a small salad as well without going over calorie intake. I feel that will balance me out much better and give me a bit of everything with an emphasis on low carb. I love all the food and don't want to give it up, but I feel like it's just too much the way I am doing it now. I want to be heart smart and still have some of this delicious food. It will also save me a bit of money so we'll see how it goes.

I finally got the bday food and Easter candy out of my system. Glad to report I'm down 27 lbs.:carrot: There has been talk at work, people are noticing.
Lisa, I've been doing the low cal plan for 10 weeks now. I did change to lunch & dinner for 6 days about the 2nd week in. I wanted one day that I could have lunch out and a dinner on my own. The breakfasts I was paying for didn't seem worthwhile. I've been eating breakfast on my own (not DTG), and usually have cereal/bananna/milk or cereal & yogurt during the week. I'll throw a string cheese in my lunch kit, just in case I need a morning snack. It's worked well for me.
Next week I've changed my order to the Veg plan. I wanted to change things a bit and try the veg plan. I'm hoping I'll do as well. I'll be going on a business trip the 2nd week in May and will revisit what I'm going to do after that. I have spent almost double what I normally would have. But I feel so much better. Will stay on DTG as long as possible.
Hope everyone has a great week.

I think I've figured out what I am going to do. My roomate accidentally ordered a week of the low fat so we traded up a few meals with each other. I have to say I was not real excited with the low fat food, however I feel like I am getting too many calories with the low carb. I'm going to try doing thieir 5 day lunch and dinner plan that way I will get 10 meals a week. I will do that three weeks out of the month so that I get one solid meal per day from them for dinner. It will save me money and give me the flexability I need. I just love their food and find it so delicious and filling. This way I get a solid meal of salmon or prime rib or whatever it is that evening and will make a healthy salad each day for lunch with a light breakfast. By buying it that way. I get 30 meals a month and save a ton of money. It was getting so expensive for me. If they sold meals as delicious at the market, I wouldn't bother with DTG but nothing compares. Anyway hope everyone is doing well. :)

That sounds like a good plan. You might want to try the new Healthy Choice meals that have come out, the natural ones. I have had a few of those and they have been pretty good. They taste like there's fresh ingredients and not like a microwave meal like some of the other ones do.
Good luck!

Hi, I've been trying to decide on the best program to lose 50 lbs before I turn 50 7/2010. Diet to go sounds good to me, but I did have alot of success with JC but I was much younger (19 yrs ago). I also really like the idea of the support from this forum. I haven't placed my order yet. Do any of you have advice of Diets to go vs Jenny Craig? I feel like I practically starve myself some days and the scale doesn't budge. I started doing the WiiFit 2 weeks ago and love it. I'm done with my size 16's getting tight. I want to get back into a comfortable size 12. I threw out my ancient 10's last year:(

Hi everyone! In to report I'm down another 2.4 for a grand total of 29.4 lbs:carrot:
I did switch to the veggie plan, but the first week has me wanting to go back to the low cal. I'm only getting a partial week, next week, so will change back if needed when I get back from a conference.
I love the flexibility of DTG. Have a fun week.

Hello everyone,I need some advice about a few issues has anyone experienced any health concerns with the low-carb plan regarding elevated cholesterol levels or any other side effects ,low-fat versus low- carb which one is better for long term weight loss, what other food items are added to plans example fruit, vegs, dairy etc thinking about the low-carb plan lunch and dinner seven days a week and adding a small amount of high fiber carbs to meals.

Hey got my first delivery today!!! Two of the trays didn't have any label...Will figure that out later.
I got 5 yogurt cups sent. My Week 2 menu lists only two days on yogurt for breakfast. The rest are for the second week?

I got my first delivery today also! I am sooo excited to start, the food looks good! I didn't have any problem fitting it in my fridge/freezer, it was surprising.

Great news Jane...Surprisingly, I could fit all my stuff in as well. Food tastes great. The Mushroom Ravioli was a bit slogged and watery but I figured out that I need to keep stuff out of the refrigerator a while before heating it so that water can be drained out. It tasted good but didn't care much for the Brussel Sprouts which was totally bland.
I still didn't get the whole Yogurt thing. The veggie menu for this week shows 2 days when they list organic yogurt for breakfast. But I got five of them. Do I use these for snack whenever I like?
Initially I assumed these extra ones were for the next week, but doesn't seem so. I only have one entry for yogurt in the next week's menu. I know it's not a big deal and it's easy to gulp it down (he he) but just want to do this right...
