Default Sugars!

I need help folks. I cannot stop craving sugar. I never noticed that I'm this addicted to it until I recently decided to cut back. Way back! Anyone got ideas for sweets that aren't terrible for a dieter? All advice is appreciated!

Oh girl...I'm the wrong person to respond to this. LoL!! I usually have quite a sweet tooth...I try and curb it by munching on sugar-free cookies, pudding, etc...and eating fruits.

But today, my GOSH, has been so bad! I'm PMSing like crazy and got a teeeerrible craving for apple pie. I decided to go to a local bakery and pick one up to splurge for my once-a-month visitor. I ended up getting a petit fore and a King Cake. LOL!

So all I've had to eat today is that petit fore, a slice of king cake and a glass of chocolate milk. LOL!!

Ho hum....tomorrow's another day...

I so understand how you feel! I am such a chocolate addict, I used to ruin everything by the end of the afternoon. I loved to eat it when I finished work, when I got so wired. I know decided to do this.

I buy one chocolate cereal bar (aprox. 85 calories) to eat at work and never carry any money with me anymore, for the fear of buying and eating one. So how about some chocolate cereal bars. 85 calories are not such a biggie.

Usually a piece of fruit will help with a sugar craving. Well works for me sometimes anyway! Best of luck

Quaker DeLights... they are these little mini rice cakes with Chocolate drizzled on the top of each one. They come in 90 calorie packs so they are portion controlled. But, because the main ingredient in Rice Cakes you get WAY more than you do in normal 100 calorie packs.

That, and frozen fruit. Tastes like candy. (Sort of....)

The problem I have is that if I cave a little bit and eat a couple of cookies or whatever, it makes me want more. If I am eating clean, I don't have the cravings and it doesn't even bother me to see them and be around them. I do think fresh fruit or berries are good ideas.

100 calories chocolate pudding
fat free coccoa (the best)
skinny cow ice creams - around 190 calories
pears
Granola bars with chocolate for breakfast
Smart Ones Deserts
gum

Have a treat - but keep it in moderation, and try to make it a semi-healthy one. Way easier said then done.... seeing as I had 3 cookies, cocoa, and a scoop of peanut butter yesterday. agh.

I can't keep normal sweets around me because I eat them all, I have no control!

Maybe try substituting something like a piece of cheese whenever you think you must have a sweet. A small indulgence without sugar. I never found that a little cutting back, or using diet desserts, helped with my sweet tooth. What helped was only having sugar once a week or less, and only having something really good.

I'm not sure how long you've cut back, but for most people, your system resets and stops physically craving sugar by the end of the first week. If it's more of a mental craving, then that will take longer.

I really like eating plain animal crackers and cereal (honey bunches of oats works). The sweetness of the cereal is more apparent when you eat it dry.
Anyway, good luck!

I have the same problem. I gave up sugar for a bit and it was easier to do that than to limit myself to just one or two things. I like SF FF choc pudding. It is hard and it is something I am still struggling with.

weight watchers has these ice cream bars that are only 80 calories and they are sooo good.. alos i like the pudding snack packs and sugar free jello. I also buy chocolate cereal bars..the south beach diet ones are really good and only about 120 calories... less depending on the type you buy.. (mine are protein and fiber)
