I, too, have noticed more people using actual photos as avatars and I think it is great! I thought about deleting mine a couple weeks ago because "what if someone I knew recognized me."... but then I realized that was ridiculous. I am proud of myself so why shouldn't people know who I am.

I like the pictures too. I should try to figure out how to do it and change my cat avatar. I honestly am very inept when it comes to this type of thing....
