Good Morning everyone! It's Monday, hope you all enjoyed your weekend. I did nothing but walk the dogs and do laundry! Shame on me... Oh, and I brushed up on the "carbohydrate addicts diet".... and I've decided to go back to that plan, which can be done with the rules of SB, outside of having as many carbs in the diet. I haven't been feeling well enough to walk or exercise, and yesterday's walk really upset the abdomen pains, so I need to do something to boost the weight loss, not merely maintain.
The dogs, after not being walked for a few weeks, slept the night through! we walked about 4 pm, and was home about 5, and they slept! I'm hoping it's warm enough tonight, and that I won't be so tired after work and shopping to walk them, we'll see.
In the meantime, it's 6:30, best be moving along! Still have to pack lunch, eat breakfast and do the make up.
Enjoy your day!

Good morning!
For a lot of you, this is a day off to stay home, but I'll be going in early since the girls have the day off and will be home. :) I'm going to let Audrey decide what we're going to do since she usually has a long day of school. She'll like that. We have piano lessons on the schedule for later this afternoon, but that depends on whether it snows or not. I want to stop by the library to pick up the book they've been holding for me, too.
What's everyone doing today?

Day off, Cottage? Of course, it's MLK Day. I should remember. I put his "I had a dream" speech into the Church bulletin this weekend. It's too bad the Inauguration isn't today - it would seem appropriate.
Lori, your talk of walkies makes me feel so guilty. Jazz hasn't a clue what a leash is for but Disney sure needs work. She is going to be tested for Thera-Paws on Feb. 22 and, if I were the evaluator, I'd flunk her for pulling on the lead! She's fine on the Halti or with a chain collar but cannot be tested wearing them. I may dig out my Yak-Traks and brave the icey road with her later today.
Several things on the list today, including quilt delivery and pick-up, plus a meeting about next year's Country Christmas - can you believe it? I'm hoping we can resolve some of the issues from the Pageant part of the even. The music director was the biggest problem - she felt her one hour cantata should be the only music and real people wanted to be able to sing carols and listen to and watch the Christmas story. Imagine that! I suspect she's get her knickers in a knot and stomp out of the meeting. Stay tuned for updates.
Time to tackle the day. Have a good one. :cofdate:

Good morning chicks!
Lori - good for you for the walk! I've seen other runners out, but just can't brave it in 5 degree temps. Of course, yesterday we thought pulling the kids up the huge hill many times to go sledding qualified as exercise :D. Sure kicked my heart rate up!
Cottage - enjoy the day with the girls!
Ruth - We had a choir director like that before...but we were only a choir of 8(and that was on the best days, more often 4-6!!). She REALLY wanted to do a dessicant at our wedding, but we didn't have the guts to tell her she can't see on key. In retrospect, it was kinda funny!
Me - DD goes to daycare, DS goes with mommy to work today. I haven't decided if I'll try to get my hair cut with him there or not. Maybe I'll try bribery?
We had some BEAUTIFUL snow yesterday! Those big, puffy flakes slowly falling. Pretty funny, DH and I were completely enchanted...kids could've cared less. Now I know how my mom felt!
Have a great day, ladies!

Good morning everyone,
Just checking in and passing through. Have the day off and need to clean up from our football game yesterday!! :cp::cheer::cp: The kids have off today and already wanting to get on the computer. They don't believe in sleeping in. :dunno: I think I will stay close to home today even though others have other plans for me...
Everyone have a great day and a safe one.

Good Morning!
When my best friend's son was about 6, he had this day off school. I asked him, "Brooks, why are you out of school?" He said, "Martha Stewart Day." I love it! Happy Martha Stewart Day! :)
My son has his 5-year-check-up today. He actually loves seeing his doctor. So far, he hasn't remembered that he got shots last year. He's getting one today. I'll give him a dose of tylenol before we go. I hate him getting shots as much as he does. Last year, I had to wrap my arms and my leg around him to keep him still. This year, he's much stronger than he was last year. Hooray for Jazzercise!
Once a month, I play Bunko with a group of friends. Tonight is the night! My strategy is to eat dinner before I go. I have to stay out of the chips and M&Ms!
Have a great day!

Good morning ladies....hoping for a quiet day but one never knows for sure in my house. my teens have eye doc appointments this afternoon and getting themto an appointment is always a challenge. Need to do some laundry, pay some bills and probably do work for work if I don't procrastinate too much!!! Yesterday I did a DVD that I bought for core work outs...it is by a man named Gilad. He has many shows on the fitness channel and has been around a while...and not to hard on the eye....anyway...it kicked my butt and made me realize how much core work I need to do, but it was great!
Ruth I love hearing about your days (all you ladies too).I have this image in my head of a throw back to the past of simple quiet rural life and I find reading your posts to be very soothing...like a cup of cocoa...so thank you for adding those moments to my day. Actually I wish you would write more... Thanks to all you ladies I do enjoy being a part of your lives. Have a great day and I will check up on you all tonight - Suzyq

Happy MLK Day chicks. I am one of the ones with the day off, hooray! I will do some work to get ahead for the week though. The kids have off school until Thursday, so that will put a crimp in my work the next couple of days.
Today, DD2 has her orthodontic workup. We'll see what he wants to do with her mouth. I have put it off as long as I could, because she has the same mouth as DD1, who had to go through the palate expander, pulling teeth to make room, braces, retainers... It was awful. She also has dance class tonight.
Her basketball game went well last night. I was glad because they lost pretty badly last week. Her team is small (mostly shorties), but fast and furious. Those little girls play hard! They were pretty evenly matched last night and the game was tied up most of the time, they snuck out a victory at the last few seconds. Very exciting. new stuff for me because I've never paid much attention to basketball. She seems to be really enjoying it, but she is a new player and has a lot to learn.
Hi Gonna, glad to see you around - how is everything going?
Hmmm, think I will get a second cuppa before I attempt personals. BBL

I've got the day off today too. With EDS we got Good Friday off but we have now changed to HP holidays so we get today off which is good since Brian doesn't have school.
We've got to run out and get him a new compass as he left his water bottle with the compass attached to it in a leaders car yesterday and she gave it to him at the scout dinner and he left it under the table. We were almost home when he remembered and I wasn't driving 30 minutes just to get it. He needs it today as he's meeting that leader for an orienteering course today. If he completes that then he will have his Scoutmaster conference and Board of Review tonight and he will get his First Class rank. Yeah!! I am so proud of him.
We're also supposed to meet up with Don today to go mattress shopping. I realized my mattress has a hole in it and needs to be replaced and he has a pickup truck so that will make it easy. Time to go compass shopping. By for now.

Good morning all!!! Happy MLK Day!!!
Lori - Good job getting a walk in, but I'm sorry that you ended up in pain. I hope you're able to figure out how to manage this pain.
Cottage - Enjoy your day way from the girls. I hope you're able to make the best of it!
Ruth - Sounds like your music lady needs to relax and realize what the season is really about. Good luck, I hope her knickers don't get too out of shape!
Twynnb - If you get your hair done, you know we'd love to see it!!!!
me4life - I hope Max feels better soon, for his well being and yours!
phxsunflower - Congrats to you and your Cardinals!!!!
Chelby - Too funny!!! Hope all goes well at the Dr.'s today! And re: Bunko, I suggest having gum to chew on. If you've got gum in your mouth, you'll be less likely to snack!
sstambler - Welcome to the chat, I'm not sure we've met. Good luck on your journey!
Gonnabe - Hope all is well. I'm still praying for family!
Schmoodle - Hey there Schmoodle!!! Enjoy your day off!!!!
Barb - Sounds like you're going to be out and about today!! Hope all goes well and you get everything you need!
me - I'm home from work today, which is a blessing, seeing how busy I was over the weekend. It'll give me a day to catch back up. I am going to take advantage of the day off, however, and go see "The Reader". It looks really good, and I want to get in as many movies as I can before the Oscars. This weekend Rich and I went and saw Gran Torino (FANTASTIC!!)!!! I've also got to go grocery shopping and have some things to drop off at the Salvation Army. And I'm hoping to get some laundry done tonight.
Hope you all have a good Monday! If you can, get out and do something for your community today! BLESSINGS!!!

Good morning, everyone!
Just sitting here at work, wondering if I have enough to do to fill the day. Only one customer in so far and no phone calls.
Barb: Enjoy your day out shopping with the guys. Congrats to Brian on his accomplishments!
Schmoodle: Congrats to DD and her basketball team. Those games that are won in the last few seconds are always exciting, but I really hate the suspense sometimes. I hope you're able to get a reasonable amount of work done this week!
Gonna: Good morning! Hope you have a great day!
Sstambler: Great job getting a workout with Gilad in! I love watching his shows on FitTv, but I've never tried one. They look pretty tough! I hope you have a good day!
Chelby: I hope your little man's doctor appt. goes well today! Have fun playing Bunko! You've got a great strategy in place and I'm sure you'll do well tonight avoiding temptation.
Phx: Enjoy your close-to-home day! Congrats to the Cardinals!! I hope you have a great day.
Me4life: Glad Max is doing better and I'm also glad that it frees up the treadmill room for you!
Twynn: I hope you're having a nice day at work! Sounds like the snow was wonderful, even if the kiddos failed to notice!
Ruth: Can't wait to hear what progresses at the Country Christmas meeting. I'm sure it's going to be interesting regardless, but hearing it from you is usually hilarious. You have a gift for making me laugh out loud at my desk! Have a nice day!
Cottage: Have a nice day with the girls!
Lori: I'm sorry the walking is causing you pain. It's not too bad and you're able to continue some kind of physical activity.
Me: Not much going on today. DH is at home, hopefully folding laundry. Yeah right. He's on his recliner watching Sports Center. I'm getting caught up with what needs to get done by Thurs. when the fam arrives. Can you believe that I still haven't wrapped their Christmas gifts?! I'll get it done.
Well...off to see what the news in cyberspace. Have a great MLK Jr. Day!

Good Morning chickies!
Laurie- Its nice to to be awaken in the night by animals, luckily mine don't bother me, but the cats on the other hand. I have one that I just this morning trapped in the master bath because she won't quit pouncing on us(only when she is hungry in the mornings, the rest of the time she always tiptoes around us not to step on our limbs- so I know she is doing it intentionally!!!)and smacking us in the face!
Watch my cat here!!! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0ffwDYo00Q)
Cottage- sounds like you have a lovely day planned! Enjoy!
Ruth- Its amazing how early we have to plan for these things isn't it! Good luck on getting the Music controller(haha) to agree- and gl on getting Jazz trained!
Twynn- Don't you just love the snow?! We get a couple dustings maybe 3 times a year so I love it!lol, I woke up to big flakes this morning and they are almost gone now... oh well! it is pretty while it lasts!
Me4- do it to it sister! I need to head back into the gym today myself! I have been doing the jillian micheals videos though, but they are only 20 minutes! Time to put some real time with the treadmill!
Oh, Phx- :( I was so sad about that game... but at least one of us is happy from it...
Chelby- Have fun tonight playing Bunco! I keep thinking I need to organize this kind of thing with my friends but never seem to get it accomplished- I will put that on my to do list!
Suzyq- Good job on the core work! Wishing you a laid back day :)
Gonna-GL on p 1.5!!!
Schmoodle- I would much rather watch high school or below games, for some reason just not into college or pro basketball... GL at the orthodontist with dd2~
Barb- sounds like your son is doing great!!! GL on the matress hunt---Hey, is there ever a day matresses aren't on sale?!?!
Heather- Enjoy your catch up day... I love that you are helping out with your community! If I finally get through some clothing today I will be dropping some stuff off there as well!!! Thanks for the motivation to do so!!!
Kim  enjoy your day!
Me- Well, not too much going on right now other than coffee, but after that is done laundry must begin and so does the housework~! Groceries, and more!
One other thing I reallly want to accomplish is measuring the kitchen for a backsplash to see if I have enough of a tile to go ahead and do it! I am getting super pumped about a SUPER LOW BUDGET redo! lol... when we get back from vegas I think we will start painting the cabinets and get some new hardware... tile floor should be delivered in the next month and I would like to get a new stove and dishwasher and microwave if I can talk DH into it-right now they are all in working order so I don't know if he will go for all three at once!!! OH, and a new pendant light for above the sink-which I may go shop for today! hehe, okay, getting carried away and rambling on! Enjoy your day ladies!!!:carrot:

Morning girls! I finally have a bit of time -- I'm going to try and get personals done...if I don't get to you, please don't be offended...I love you all.
Lori - good luck on the CA diet. Girl, at least you got the laundry done and the dogs walked..that is more than I do some weekends!
Cottage - have a great day! What book are you picking up? I need to make a trip to the library, I'm about done with the books that I got for Christmas.
Ruth - What on earth are Yak-Traks? Have a good time at the meeting...I'll be waiting for details. The drama cracks me up!
Twynn - I feel much better knowing I'm not the only one who bribes their kids to be good when I'm getting a haircut! DS knows that when we go to the salon, we go to the bakery after to pick out a cookie!
Me4 - good to hear that the P2 transition has been going well! Good luck!!
phxsunflower - do kids ever believe in sleeping in? Have a great day!
Chelby - I do not envy you or DS in the least...I hope they don't hurt too much, for his sake -- and yours!
Sstambler - Enjoy your day!
Gonna -
Schmoo - why the long break for the kids? I remember going through all of that orthodontic work...I hated it at the time, but couldn't be happier that I did!
Barb - enjoy your day!
Kim - if your DH is at home folding laundry, send him my way or teach me how you got him to do it! :)
Rikki - I love remodeling rooms...especially kitchens. I get way too carried away though and end up spending too much!! Enjoy it!

Whew! I guess I should probably tackle personals earlier in the morning!!

In case anyone wants to know, Auston did NOT want shots! He screamed, hollered, cried and kicked! More mad than hurt. Luckily, he won't have another shot till he's 12. If I have to hold him down then, I'm just going to punch him in the nose. :) For heaven's sake!
Zeff, since I've been doing SBD, I feel like the potty is my best friend, too. We have a conference every night about 2 a.m. Don't like it!

Hi all! Hope you are all warm this morning. We're prepping for a few days (including today) indoors -- with the inauguration tomorrow everything is packed here in DC!!!!
I logged my food into SparkPeople today for the first time since December 15th (when I started SB) and I only ate 700 calories today, WITH dinner!!! I am sooo full and I ate a lot too! I think it calls for a peanut butter cup for dessert ;)
I want snow here girls, send some our way!! :)

I think I'm going to love my new mattress although I'll tell you more tomorrow after I've slept on it. It's a LOT thicker. Hope I don't fall off getting out of bed. ;) Those new mattresses are heavy. I think I need to get deeper fitted sheets now.
Brian got his First Class rank tonight. I was so proud. I asked if he wanted to call his Dad and tell him but he said he'd tell him next time he saw him. Not sure when that will be.
He's got a dental cleaning tomorrow so I'll be working from home and have to get him out of school 15 minutes early.

My old one actually had a hole in it and I think it was more than 10 years old. And I think it will make me feel better to get rid of the mattress that I shared with Robert. Don actually gave me his new mattress that turned out to be too soft for his back and I bought him a new one that was firmer. It just made for a lot of moving around of mattresses today. I need to find out if Brian and I can lift my old one. It needs to go out to the street for bulk trash pickup the end of this week. If we can't, Don said he'd come back and help me move it. I'm really enjoying our friendship. He's going to help me remodel much of the house starting with my bathroom. I've had a list of things to have done since Robert and I bought the house and now they will get done (Don owns a remodeling/construction company).
