Default mens' forum?

hello

i thought it might be a good idea to have a mens forum somewhere here for guys to talk about their own issues, plans etc.
it might be scary to venture into a calorie-counting coven with no easily visible male presence.

sorry if it's been suggested before, couldn't find anything on it in forum search.

Start a thread in the weight loss support forum
www.3fatchicks.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=13

It would be great for the guys and women would pop in too! Give us another perspective as well. And help us who have men in our lives with weight/health issues.

I am a guy...and I am around here, most everywhere... actually I prefer to be here with ladies no offense to men... I just find women to be much more insightful in personal perspective issues and getting input from them works better for me than asking most men...

Be glad to talk to any folks who are trying to lose weight or start a healthy lifestyle...

This is a great idea. As a woman I often wonder how men deal with weight loss with so little public encouragement. It's often referenced as a way to get healthy, but otherwise men are completely ignored in the weight loss industry.

Example: Anyone seen the commercial for 100 Calorie Packs of Oreo Cakesters? It shows a delivery truck driving through town and every single woman in town starts screaming and running after it until there's a stampede and they attack and overturn the truck and pass out the loot.

Not a single man in the commercial, which portrays all women (not one of whom was visibly overweight) as sugar-starved and calorie-counting.

Ugh.

Question And the driver ... ?

What was the gender of the driver of the Oreo Cakesters truck that had every woman in town screaming after it?

Inquiring minds want to know.

That must be a very popular man

I agree that the diet commercials are sexist.

RYAN ~ you guys should start a THREAD in the WEIGHT SUPPORT FORUM, so you can support each other on a regular basis; keep an eye out to see if SHCIREF starts one in there for you guys or not. Starting a thread is as easy as posting; just click on thread on the upper left side and post ...

Hang in there: sadly, regaining weight is fairly common (and I know that from experience). It takes diligence to continue to eat and live in a healthier manner long term. That's one reason I came here. Check out the maintenance forum and read some of their stories for inspiration and tips.

I'm 99% positive that it was a very scared looking man (once he figured out what was going on behind his truck).

Make that 100%. The media wouldn't portray something as non-stereotypical as a woman driving a delivery truck.
