Hey everyone , I hope you're having a good day today! Well anyway I wanted to start a new kind of thread that would bring us all together. My brother and my mom do this on the 300+ club and I figured, why not us try it? The whole concept is to make a goal of how many minutes exercising you want to do this month and eventually we all tally up into a group total for the year.

For example my goal for January is 750 minutes of exercise. So everytime I workout or whatever I choose to do I will post it and add it to my personal goal and a group total! Since this is my first time doing this lets make a goal for 100,000 minutes by the end of the year!

This is an actual post and an example of what we can all do every month, week, day, or whenever you want!
I had done 487 minutes so far this month, so my personal tally was 487/750

Today I did 45 minutes of Yoga so I would post this:
Group Total: 487+45=532

So I kick off our group total with 532 minutes.

And we keep adding on until we acheive our goal. So Alternachicks are we up to it? :carrot:

Whew that was hard! Just did 15 minutes of nonstop weights and boy that was a workout.:dizzy:

Talk about an awesome workout! I spent 45 minutes doing cardio and 25 minutes samba dancing, oo lala! :D Personal Total: 618/750 ( uh-oh I think I'm going to have to up my minutes for this month. :p)
Group Total: 548+70=618

I walked for about 30 minutes today. I went at least a mile or more. I don't really know what I'd want for a goal...

This is a good idea. I need to do something like this!! I have no regime set up or anything yet :( Want to come up with my own workouts to some of my music. Have a few 4-5 minute work outs back to back per song :)

migotokokoro-Great job! thats some much needed minutes to our group! :running: Walking is one of the best exercises you can do, plus its simple! I really didn't know what I wanted for a goal at first either. Just pick a number (probably in the hundreds region) and work toward that. You don't have to start out drasticlly big, work with what youcan do. All this is really about us getting up and doing something to change ourselves for the better.

So migo with your 30min

Thanks Wabe!:smug: I have found that in my own exercise routine music keeps you upbeat and going! I love listening to Elvis when doing cardio, it really gets me pumped up. Now you might not listen to the king, :p but whatever works for you! Just let me know how you're doing! Keep up the good work!:bravo:

Whew! I just did 15 miles of bike time in 60 minutes! :ebike: The only part I really hate about biking indoors is that your butt gets really numb after like a half-an-hour. :mad: That always blows, but its great exercise! Had to add 600 minutes to my monthly goal, otherwise I would have finished today. Thats a major no no :nono:

Personal Goal- 677/1350 (That looked better in my head :p)

Group total 648+60=708

I walked about 20-25 minutes, part of it was up-hill. I also did a full run to the bus stop today which was about a block long. I caught the bus! :P lol Just though I'd throw that in there. It's only afternoon so more might be added. I even ate perfect yesterday and so far today. No sweets or anything. I've eaten a small meal every three hours. Hopefully I can successfully keep this up.

Well migo I'm glad you caught the bus! :D For next time I just want to let you know you can post your minutes added to the groups. I only want the group to always have an accurate total due to my sometimes weird math, forgetfulness, and days like these :fr:. haha

Group Total: 708+25=733

For your extra effort I added 25! Nothing wrong with a little running, see you caught the bus! :carrot:

Is it alright if I call you migo or would you prefer another name?

It's fine if you call me Migo. Sadly I didn't work out more today. It's only 6:30pm here though... I will probably take 10 minutes to do at least 50 situps. I used to to 100 really quickly, but I'm bigger than I was last time I lost weight. I could do 100, it'll just take me longer. I am so tired from waking up at 6am this morning. I just want to pass out because I went to sleep at about midnight... -_-;; I ate good at least, ALL DAY!!! ^_^ lol

6 in the am? Ouch! Well its okay that you didn't workout later, at least you did workout. wow 100 situps, I'm so jealous. :s:

Eating good is also a good way to sustain weight, plus it makes you feel better! :carrot:

More bike time! :ebike: Except today I helped myself by taking a book along instead of fixing my eyes on the tv. I never knew you could read and bike, (indoors I mean)

:faint: wow that is enough exercise for today. I'm gonna sleep well tonight. 15minutes walking, 15min weights, 35 samba dancing, and 56 min cardio! One after the other, I think I'm going to devour dinner.

OK, i am going to join this. i really need some exercise accountability and goals. i went strong with 1 hour workout 6 days a week for about 3 weeks and quit for 2 weeks straight. i am back on the wagon, as of 2 hours ago. my monthly (this month) goal is 600 minutes.
so far this month i have done 240 minutes.
(3 one hour cardio (intense DDR)
60 minutes of weights and crunches (on exercise ball))

Personal Goal: 240/600
Group: 1228

I just walked for 32 minutes! I walked just over a mile too. I have walked 55 minutes and adding the 32 minutes is 87 minutes.

55 + 32 = 87 minutes!!

This is day four of no candy, no chocolate, or anything bad. ^_^

Oh! I also lost 4lbs since yesterday! ^_^ I might actually get under 200lbs. It'll be the first time in a few months.

Thank you ladies! Excellent work in keeping fit, if I could reach through the screen and hug you because I'm so proud I would! But the law of physics keeps my bum in this seat. :hug:

With migos minutes our total is now-

Group Total-1228+87=1315!

Wonderful we acheived our goal and then some! I'll post my minutes later and set a new goal for next sunday night!

Sweetness! This is just fantabulous ladies! Did another 45 minutes biking and migo and I's minutes should boost us up some more!

Personal Total-932+45=977! So close to a thousand.

Group Total- 1315+30+45=1390!!!! :woohoo:!!!!!!

Gotta do more exercise for today and hopefully I'll set another goal for next Sunday night!

67 minutes of cardio! Ugh!! wow I'm sweaty, I think I'm going to open my mouth and just suck in dinner! Maybe I'll enjoy dinner. haha

I think I should join this as I really need to do more of the fat burning activity!I am trying to walk to work at least 4 times a week which is 4.8 miles each time and also get on my bike!No excuses!I will check in here, everytime I do something noteworthy!

Well, after I'm done doing a project I am going to walk home. That is almost two miles. After I get home I'm going to go walking with my gf's aunt and her gf for another mile! ^_^ I'll get back online after and record my minutes. I might even do some crunches. :P

It feels like I did a billion crunches after my bike ride! :faint: I uped the level and my abs flexed, A LOT. I think cardio will be a relief today (thats scary.)

Finished cardio and samba dancing! I'm off to do weights sometime today. Its too cold here! This is ridiculous!

Did bike and samba time! I have to adjust the group total. Migo I need you to keep your personal minutes and when you add minutes to the group separate so we can distinguish what goes where. I wouldn't mind but I get confused sometimes.

I can finally post here after seeing the physiotherapist. I have some stretching exercises to do and I am allowed to use a bike. So 15 minutes of stationery biking today. . . got to start small so I don't hurt my leg again. :)

Just wanted to post a quick note and let everyone know where I've been. I have been excercising, just haven't had time to post my minutes. I'm leaving this morning and won't be home till Saturday afternoon. I'm going to a band clinic, I play trumpet. I WILL be excercising when I'm on the road, no excuses for not finding time. I'll hopefully be able to jump on tonight and post my minutes. Continue your wonderful hard work!! I'm so proud of this thread and the lovely people who are working it. I know we'll make the 3000 by Sunday night.

^as usual, i did not want to get started on the cardio after a couple of days off. i tried to make up a billion excuses, but read some thread and was motivated to get going. at one point i dissociated from myself and didnt realize where the time had gone while i was DDRing. (like ending up in the work parking lot and no knowing how you got there).
but i got the ball rolling and i am anxious to workout through out the weekend now.

I actually love escaping to the gym and am making myself a priority to do so. If I can get out of the lab early enough today I'm going to do my 60 min. on the treadmill. I need to find a plan for lifting though.

Alterna-K8 is sooo good at "not having time" to exercise! OF COURSE I HAVE TIME! This week I've been really good. My worst day was 20 minutes of exercise bike but at least I squeezed in SOMETHING.

My goal is to do 2 half hour sessions a day -- walk/running in the a.m. and swimming, yoga, or stretching vids in the p.m. So I'm 4 out of 5 with that this week, on a roll! Nice to be on a roll that didn't come from La Brea bakery, HA!

Congrats everyone for kicking butt in the gym! Tuesday is my freakishly busy day, and I cooooould be working out now, but I like to reserve Tuesday night for my vice of watching The Biggest Loser. Could be a worse vice, I suppose. But I will be sure to check in tomorrow after a nice long workout!
