GM everyone. I haven't made it to the kitchen to put the coffee on yet! See how devoted I am? ;). But once I do you all are invited to share a cup with me!

It was nice yesterday at work, Ann called in sick! (the overbearing b oss). Amazing what a body can accomplish without someone interrupting and ordering every five minutes!

OOPS, just remembered I have to look for my bank debit card. I gassed up last week and put it in my coat pocket, and I wore a different coat yesterday, so I was driving on fumes and hungry! I didn't get out to shop over the weekend... shame on me.

Have a great day all!

Good Morning!!!
I have to go to a technology workshop today and don't have to be there till 8:30, so didn't have to hit the gym at 5 this morning (I'm usually at school at 7!) So...wanted to buzz in and tell everyone hey!!

It's been nuts here. My mom and sister came to visit for 10 days and ended up having to stay for 3 weeks because my mom ended up in the hospital. She is much better now and they got back to NC on Sunday.

I had a few "no-no's" during the holidays, but luckily didn't gain any weight from them since I only missed the gym on Christmas and New Years. Back on track again till next Thanksgiving!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Good morning, Cat and Lori. Nice to "see" you, Cat. Lori, be sure you get gas today - for the car, that is!

Had a long chat with my sister yesterday. She is going to Armenia with CESO (http://www.ceso-saco.com/english/about/index.php) to teach some women how to quilt! It's a three week assignment and she was trying to persuade me to come along. (I think she's scared!) The wee village she's going to has no hotels or restaurants so she'll really be roughing it. This will be a life experience that she can enjoy by herself!

Another relatively quiet day coming up around here. The Doggage will be glad. The only thing I have to do is do a dog yard patrol to see if I can find some of the toys that Jazz has snuck out there. We expect snow later so...

Hope your day is pleasant and not too cold. We are heading into major freeze tonight!

Good morning Loriann, Cat, and everyone to come!

This morning is better than yesterday already. :) I was a little under the weather and was tired and grumpy all day, so I kept myself scarce for everyone's sake. ;)

I have a hairdresser's appointment first thing today, then will probably head right over to Cindy's. Maggie was home with a bad cold yesterday, and we'll probably keep her home again today, so I'll be needed ASAP.

On the bright side, our days are 17 minutes longer now!

Good Morning!

Did you all see the full moon last night? It's beautiful! We have a cold snap heading our way, too. The weatherman said that Friday's low is going to be 13*! I should have been a bear... :)

DH and I went to the 'frip' store last night. (DS couldn't say 'Thrift' when he was little and the name stuck.) I found 4 pairs of jeans and a pair of cowboy boots for him for less than $15. WooHoo!!! He is hard on the knees of his jeans.

Speaking of jeans, I had to wear a belt with my jeans yesterday to hold them up. It's working! Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning gals :coffee2: Today we are going in a little later so bf can stay for two meetings. She's doing better and should be back to driving herself next week. I don't mind - it's kind of fun having company on the drive home :)

Lori - Wow, I can't imagine typing before coffee! I have a coffee maker with a timer so the sound of done coffee is my alarm in the morning. yes, I love my coffee, why do you ask :) Glad you had a peaceful day yesterday.

Cat - Always lovely to see your name pop up. You are my roll model for maintenance - just getting healthier and stronger all the time.

Ruth - Wow, that will be quite an adventure for your sister. We are getting the freeze tonight too, though it will undoubtedly be tropic compared to your temps! Is it just me or does it already seem like winter has lasted forever?!

Cottage - Thanks for the daylight update! I've been noticing it in the afternoons and really appreciate every minute. Hope everyone around you is healthier today.

Chelby - The full moon over new snow was really spectacular. Made me want to get out for a moonlight snow shoe, though I didn't. Maybe next month. I love the frip stores and never would have made it through 10 months of weight loss without them. I was able to get a couple of pairs of pants in every size all the way down, though I was careful never to spend more than $2-3 a pair because I didn't plan to stop. I did buy two full wardrobes in sizes I thought I'd stay but just re-donated all that stuff. A least it didn't cost me a fortune.

Nothing exciting on tap for today. Meeting in the morning which should be interesting because we will hear some of the speculation about upcoming state budget cuts. It wouldn't be surprising if half our staff ended up jobless by summer the way things are going. Of course private donations and foundation money is also down so we are feeling it across the board. Only time will tell.

Okay, gotta get moving now. Have a good day all!

Good morning ladies! Happy Tuesday!

Lori - Glad to hear that you were so productive yesterday. Maybe bosslady will see all that you got done in her absence and cut you some slack and trust you a little more...one can only hope!

Cat - Good to see you stopping by. Glad to hear all is well. Keep it up so we can continue to look to you for inspiration. Take any good pictures lately???

Ruth - Wow!!! A trip to Armenia sounds exciting for your sister. Quite the adventure!

Cottage - Hope your appointment with your hairdresser goes well. We'd love to see pictures!!!

Chelby - Great job at the frip store last night. Sounds like you really know how to work it! And excellent work having to wear a belt with your jeans. You're doing great!!!

Cyndi - Glad to hear that your friend is doing better. I hope the news at the meeting this morning isn't too bad. Good luck!!!

ME - Not much going on around here today. I will share that yesterday before lunch I was told that we were going out for co-worker's bday. At first I froze....did I want to risk it? But then I told myself that there were plenty of beachy options and I would simply have to make good decision. And I stuck to it!!!! Got the salad bar & soup. And did REALLY WELL!!! I really felt good about my choices!
Looking forward to Biggest Looser tonight....should be interesting.
Have a lovely Tuesday, ladies!!! BLESSINGS!

Morning Ladies. The weather folks were wrong AGAIN. Said we would have snow lastnight, nothing. Said this morning we missed out and now just had the cold coming in, guess what? It's snowing! :dizzy:

I have seriously got to get my butt in gear! I feel just miserable about these few pounds I have put on and the choices I have made. I did so well for so long, why, why, why did I let this happen? UGH! The first step is admitting you have a problem right??

OK enough whining, I have a ton of work to do. Have a great day chicks!

hey girls. quick check-in for me.

glad everyone seems to be doing well - feel better soon, sick chicks!

last night our neighbor who lives below us came up to tell us that ds was too loud when he runs around and that his son couldn't sleep. i could have seen the rationale if it was late at night but it was 6:30 - he said their 1 y/o woke up @ 5 to be to daycare so he went to bed between 5:30 and 6...i think it is a little unrealistic to expect a family to stop moving after that time. he can hear all of us, not just ds1. ds is almost always in bed by 7:30 or 8, and we're going to try and keep him playing upstairs. advice on what to do? i feel bad about disturbing their son, but i also think that bedtime is extremely early and we all essentially have to live together....also, we can hear their activities clear as day and on the weekends their son doesn't sleep during the day and has woken ds1 up as well.

oy.

Tell your neighbor to buy a $10 box fan from Walmart for his son's room. Expecting quiet by 6 p.m. is unreasonable.

Zeff - That hour is unreasonable.

Me - I just got back from my physical. Everything looks good. My blood pressure was 100/60 so she was thrilled. Cholesterol was borderline but if I stay onplan that will improve again. She was happy with everything. She did start me on the series of Hepatitis A/B shots. She felt that it would be smart since I go camping where we only have latrines.

Morning Chickies, hope you are all doing well. I'm still in a funk. Not eating horribly at all (save maybe too many nuts) but trying to keep afloat and just eat, you know? Getting showered and going food shopping today. First time out of the house in some time.

Anyway, just wanted to check in. Thanks for all the warm thoughts!

01-13-2009, 12:42 PM
thanks for the affirmation, girls....although, KO...having DS1 sit in a corner quietly for a few hours sounds more than wonderful ;)

I'll be as considerate as I can, but our family eats dinner around that time and I will not force DS1 to eat in his bedroom. We've decided that it would probably benefit all of us to have a little "family play time" in Calvin's room/play room before bed and it would benefit our neighbors as well.

Fortunately, they are quite nice and the husband was very gracious in the way he asked us to keep it down. I don't have any problems obliging him as much as I can.

Jen, glad you are still hanging in there.

Morning ladies! Quickie for me again, I will try to get back for personals later... but CHelby= congrats on the belt! lol love that feeling~!

On the agenda for me today is going to the gym, about to head out the door now ;), more laundry, and going through my closets and drawers to decide whats worth keeping and what isn't... or at least what fits and what doesn't - what can be put away for now, till I get rid of this stupid weight I gained! arg~!... and then DM&D are coming over for dinner I plan to make chili... normally I have to leave out the onions, peppers, and celery because dh doesn't like them... tonight he is outnumbered! lol... NO no, I am not quite that mean... I will make him a lil separately! I just don't normally take the time to make a different batch just for me but since we are having company I may as well! Were supposed to be in a cold snap here as well! I can hardly believe that its going to get into the single digits here this week- guess it had to happen sometime! NOW, where is all that snow they keep promising me?!!!!

ARG I just went through the Kitchen and they had grilled chicken sandwiches with roasted red peppers and Mozz
I had one, but it's no excuse to roll off the towel for the rest of the day I googled some grilled chicken sandwiches and I think I'm hitting around 450
I know we don't have to count but I've been not counting my way into the wrong direction

Sorry for no personals today... I'm sick!

Woke up the morning feeling nauseas and had diaherra, gagged down a HB egg white. I've got the baby home with me today and DH won't come home or get DS1 from school. See if he gets any sympathy next time he's sick.

I'm on day 7 of phase 1 and I don't want to undo all the hardwork I did! So I am trying to eat on plan foods but I really would like some saltines.

I'm back on the beach starting today.:carrot:

I did want to start on Jan. 1 but have been fighting the worst cold I have every had. Seems to be finally leaving so I can go and get stocked up on everything I need at the grocery store.

Good Afternoon Chicks. I am trying to get here as much as possible but we the wee ones home all day it is hard.... Plus I have dh home with me as well he has been off work since the middle of Dec. He is depressed and has started on medication but having him home all day really upsets my routine. Not sure when he is going to return to work, he goes back to the Dr on monday morning so we will no more then. I have been exercising on a regular basis the last week so I am really proud of myself, eating is so so but I am sure it will get better. Well I have to dash the after school kids have come in and I am sure you can all here the grumblings for snack. Have a great day chicks.

Zeff, they all need a spanking once in a while to keep them in line! Men are strong but they sure can be stupid! This is a very experienced woman speaking.

Just brought in two small dogs crusted all over with snowballs! The both went into a laundry tub of warmish water before they knew what hit them. The temp is at freezing and it's snowing. The wind is picking up and we're headed for a deep freeze tonight in the minus 20's F. Before that happens I'll shovel the wet snow away from the doors or we'll be blocked in tomorrow morning! Gee it's fun living in the country! :(

Hello ladies,
I haven't been on 3FC except to look at recipes for many months, although I frequently lurk on a few of the forums.
DH and I are just living the beachy life, loosely at times, but always beach inspired. Mostly I've just maintained for the past 6 months. DH gained a bit, but has already dropped about 10 pounds since the new year.
I'm ready to drop another chunk of excess weight and am supporting DH in his efforts at ph 1. I stick with ph 2 and avoid ph 1 like the plague.
I continue to find great inspiration and support here at 3fc.
Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences, recipes, daily struggles, achievements and advice.

I am keeping up with my pre-SB weekly goal of posting on the daily thread. I am making a 2nd goal of daily posting to my fitday for accountability. It was hard to put in what I actually had today, which is GREAT because I want to be proud of my daily food entries.

I am super busy today. My hubby is at work for a 36hr thing, it's hard to explain but he's in the Army and they come first. It's much harder finding time to do anything when I am home alone for so long but I need to post to keep my sanity. Made 2 stupid food choices today but not so bad considering I haven't shopped for SB friendly foods yet.

oops, this was supposed to be just a quick hi and the baby is crying.

Quick hi from me too. Finally talked to my boss today. I still have a job... just no work to do. And No Work = No Paycheck. :( He said he would understand if I needed to keep my options open... said put some feelers out there. I said I would work with him, cut my hours, etc for a short time just to keep the opportunity to stay on board with him. Don't want this door to completely close just yet. He said he might have some work here and there, but cannot guarentee me 20 hours a week right now. He said he'll keep me updated. So, guess that was good and bad news. We'll see how this plays out.
In the meantime, I have been getting small signs here and there... trying to remain positive. For example, I had to get a Rx filled, got a $10 gift card back out of it and used it to buy some make-up I needed.... total came to $10 even. How often does that happen? Went to the grocery store for eggs... someone left a coupon for .99 on top... so got my eggs for a buck. Found out I have over $600 coming to me from an account we opened that I can use to pay off my student loan, had horrible customer service from DirectTV and got the new receiver for free (saved $130) and finally had to go to the foot doctor today, expected to have to pay $40 for the co-pay and they didn't charge me because it was considered a follow-up, even though they took impressions of my feet too to order new inserts, which the insurance company is paying 100% on! Not a bad few days, huh? :D

I'll try to check back later!!

Tried to post earlier but lost it somehow.
Its going to be very cold here tonight so I took in all my herbs that are between some glass doors. I have a rosemary that is now about 5 years old.
Had a dental appt today and he did the work without freezing though the pain wasn't there it gave me a migrane so its been a quiet afternoon.
Enjoy your evening

Jen, I'm glad that these days are looking up for you. It's funny how things just seem to fall in place sometimes. DH and I know about those phenomenons all too well. When he was in grad school and money was really tight, it seemed like things that we needed would just show up...

Also, I guess that keeping your job regardless of how many hours you may get is better than losing it. It is at least a bit of a back up plan in case you can't find anything that suits you better and who knows? Maybe in a month or two, something will open up and you'll have assignments again.

My best to you and your family. I know these times can be tough

Jen- I am glad someone uses the coupons people lay on stuff. I leave behind a lot of coupons while I am at the store and I hope people pick them up. You are blessed! My hubs is the same way, things just work for him and he doesn't stress about things like I tend to do.

ellie - when I joined my hubs was stationed at NS Mayport (Jacksonville) and now he is at Eglin AFB (Ft Walton Beach).

Chelby - I didn't get the "Passie Hand" until you explained it, LOL. Don't know if it's the blonde, sugar brain, or the 4 kids. Prob all 3!

On a normal day if these little things were happening to me, I probably wouldn't have thought twice about them. But so many have happened, and all in a row, in a time I guess I needed to see them. Just thankful I am recognizing them for the belssings they are. I have DH believing in them too now! He didn't buy it after the .99 egg coupon.... took the extra $600 and the credit from DirectTV to make him a believer!! He feels the "headlight warning" he got today from another driver was his blessing from avoiding a ticket. I'm not sure that one counts! :D
At this point, I would rather keep this job and have no work than lose it. Only because finding something with these exact circumstances would be impossible. Hoping if I ride out the storm, it will pay off in the future. Until then, enjoying being a SAHM and enjoying more free time! My day routine is the same, busy with kids and kid activities. But at night, when I used to work, I am enjoying spending time with DH and finding things to keep me busy. Last night I made DD a ton of new hairbows!! Times might be tough, but her hair will look great!
