Lots of positive ideas (and tips and knowledge) to help us through the journey. So much wisdom here...and yes it's the positive "yes I can" attitudes that help uplift us and keep us strong.
Negative self-talk is probably what caused my weight gain...now positive self-talk will help me get it off and keep it off for life. But positive self-talk is one of my most difficult challenges, and I love having a place where I can get a shot in the arm when I need it.
We are running a life marathon...and we are all going to finish this race! When I was last hiking daily, and would have days where I was feeling too weak or tired to want to go the distance, I would tell myself "just keep putting one foot in front of the other and you will eventually get there". I normally focus on the goal (the turning point), but on those days, I focus on "just the next step" and no matter how weary I was, I always got to my goal.
Now I'm learning how to do the same thing here. Some days I'm strong enough to look at the end goal with excitement and hope. Other days I can only handle "one foot in front of the other"...but that is so much easier to achieve, and I can do it. And tomorrow will be just another foot forward...and pretty soon my energy will be back and I'll be exicted looking at the end goal again.
Thanks to all of you for helping me.
And a special thanks to the women who started this wonderful forum!
