Didn't see a thread of this week so I posted on the old thread, just brought to over now..

Running late just wanted to let you know I lost .5, so that 2 lbs in 2 weeks.I take that a 1 lb a week that will be 4 lbs per month.

Thanks:thanks: RHONDA-for starting us up this week.Oatmeal with apples sound like a yummy breakfast. I had a pizza bagel instead.

Good morning ladies.

My WI is tonight. I hate weighing that late in the day. I have been tracking, so hopefully I will see a loss.

I had steel cuts oats. I make a batch of it and have it almost everyday.

Hope you all have a great week.

It must be an oatmeal day! I had my uncooked oatmeal with blue berries. You mix equal amounts of raw oats with ff plain yogurt and add flavorings you like (I did splenda, vanilla and some blueberries). Let it sit overnight. It has a raw taste that I love - nothing like raw dough!

The sun is actually out today, another storm is coming tomorrow night into Wed am. I'm back in the office. DD is better and we sent her to school today. She didn't have a fever yesterday or this morning. I'm hoping its gone for good.

Not much else going on here - busy working. BBL

Good morning. I had Kashi waffles/sf syrup. This will be the last time I have that if you know what I mean.

We also just finished lunch. I had roasted chicken breast, lo mashed potatoes, be peas, beets and a Fiber One bar. I'm figuring 8 pts for the whole thing.
Looks like we'll be heading to :swim: in about an hour. Life is good.

Hey, Sandra...how'd y'all do at the tourney?

I'm playing hookey from work for the last two hours of the day. DH and I are going to go see Gran Torino.

I haven't told you yet but I'm going to Washington D.C. for the inauguration. I don't have my ball gown, but I will. Just joking about the ball gown  I have a niece who lives in Maryland and we've got tickets to watch the events from the Newseum...check it out on Google or whatever you use.

Hi Ladies:)

Sorry that I had to rush off the thread this morning.

PAM-Hope you have a great w-i tonight.

PAULA-We're happy to see that the sun is out, hopefully it will melt the snow. Glad to hear the fever is gone.

SANDRA-Never had Kashi brand waffles, but I saw the boxes in the frozen food section. I like the Vita brand waffles with fiber.I"m using 26 pts for my meals today.

RHONDA-Have a great time in Washington DC.

Have a great evening and I see you in the morning.

Rhonda, how exciting. Wish I could be there.

Maryann, a pound a week is a great loss. Congrats to you.

Sandra, hope you enjoyed your swim.

Hi Vickie.

Well, I had a 1.6 loss this week. I am so close to goal. I'm tired of paying dues. I always did Core, and rejoined last Monday. I think I may use more of my WPA's and see if that will help. I do 2 AP each day and never use them. I've only been going 1 or 2 pts over my daily allowance. Maybe shake things up.

Hope everyone has a great evening. I signed up for the webcast Oprah is hosting this week. Tonight is Bob Greene, I think, and tomorrow is Dr. Oz.

Hey ladies! So after the holidays and trying the Momentum plan I have gained and then managed to drop back to where I was around Thanksgiving. After looking back and seeing how I was on Momentum, I realized that I need something like the Core back. I was more strict with myself when I was on Core, but still allowed myself a treat once a day to make sure I didn't deprive myself. Being on Momentum I found that I rely more on lean cuisine or other unhealthy alternatives at least once a day for a meal, while the other two I'm decent. I've overindulged on treats I bought from the meeting (mini bars) or at the supermarket (ww 1 point fudge bars) and am stuck. I find now another problem I have is that I'm a picky eater. I could honestly have chicken, brown rice, oatmeal or oatbran, apple sauce, ff/sf chocolate pudding, spinach, carrots, corn, fruit smoothies, and pasta everyday and not get sick of it. I'm kind of afraid to eat beef bc I think it's too high in points and I don't want to waste them. Ugh sorry for ranting ladies, I'm just so frustrated right now, and you all were such a big help to me when I was first starting. Any and all input would be appreciated

Just look at your success, Sammi. You're doing fine so don't get down on yourself at all. You're learning what you like and don't like, what you'll do and not do. It's all part of the process. You'll be better off for it all in the long run.

Be proud...just don't overindulge for any long length of time, and no one has to eat beef anyway!

Good Morning Chicks! I have some news that I hope will not banish me from our little group forever. Most of you know that I've been struggling for a long, long, time. I finally managed to gain back all 45 pounds that I'd lost. During the holidays, Jim and I had a long conversation about our health and our desire to live many more years together. Core/WW was no longer working for us because I was not willing to weigh and measure and control my portion sizes for myself. Lately, I wasn't willing to cook, which we all know is pretty much the kiss of death for Core.

Jim was not willing to go on any plan with me that would require him to weigh in. He was willing to try Nutrisystem. While I'm not thrilled with the idea of packaged food, I decided that I would go on Nutrisystem with him. We signed up for the 5 month plan through QVC on January 2. We just started the program this morning. I can tell that I was eating too much food. My plan is to stay on this for 5 months, lose lots of weight and relearn what a true portion is. Nutrisystem is not intended as a really long term plan. They intend for you to learn and move on. I'm not trying to convince anyone, just explaining. My true intention is to lose the weight and then go back on Core/Simply Filling and start to cook again.

So....I'd REALLY love to stay here with all of you. I know I can provide and will receive the very best support and love here. I promise not to mention Nutrisystem again after this post and to continue to be truly supportive of Core/Simply Filling. I've been reading/lurking on the Nutrisystem portion of the 3FC site (and have posted a bit) and I've been on the Nutrisystem website. NOTHING compares to our board here.

I'm ready to actively participate again if you all will have me. No hard feelings whatever you all decide. I wish you the very best.

blessedwithsarah
01-13-2009, 12:30 PM
Vickie - please stay! I'm glad you and Jim found a program that you can committ to for the short term. Personally I love the support we get from each other - the fact we are or are not following core really doesn't matter to me. I'd be courious to hear how you progress on Nutrisystem. I did Jenny Craig years and years ago. I did manage to reach goal, but as you said, I never learned to change my eating habits and gained it all plus back.

Sammi - it sounds like you have a good plan. Get back to cooking real food not eating quick frozen meals. I've been counting points for a while now and I have been eating some things I never did before. But I keep it very limited and 90% of what I eat is core/filling foods. Good luck

Well, having a nice day today. DD is back to school - day #2. I do think she is over what she had. Thank goodness. DH is working upstairs in her new bedroom, my cleaning lady is finishing up. I've already taken a walk and done grocery shopping. Not too bad for 11:30! As soon as my cleaning lady leaves, I'm heating up a big bowl of my homemade veggie soup. YUM, BBL

01-13-2009, 12:35 PM
Well, Vickie, I'm new to the board myself. I thought of Nurtrisystem a while back. I've been doing Core and SBD. Both are similar. Right now I'm tracking and counting points. I was eating too many snacks. I have the portions down okay, but at night, I get bored, etc. and food fills the void. My snacks were healthy, but a calorie is a calorie. I wish you the best with Nurtrisystem.

Please stay. Support is great, no matter what plan you are doing.

I've been playing games on here all morning. I want to get my hair cut today, so I need to get moving.

Hi Sammi and welcome back. The foods you mentioned are my favs too. I love Core/Simply Filling. Momentum/counting pts is not for me, but I'm doing it for a couple weeks, to get control of my snacks. I was stalled for over 5 months, but I started tracking last week and the scale has finally moved again. Nothing is right or wrong. It's whatever works for you.

Hope everyone is having a splendid day.

Hi chickies! I'm trying to get caught up on everyone since the Christmas break, but I'm sooooooo busy. I have been exercising and half-heartedly doing core. I may have lost one of the pounds that I gained over the holiday, but I'm not trying very hard. I am planning to get to a meeting to pick up the new material. Hopefully that will get me motivated.

Vickie, stay here with us!

I hope all of you are doing well and have not frozen, yet. Nashville is cold, but I can't imagine the weather that you all "northerners" are getting. Stay warm!

Hi:

Vickie, now why on earth would anyone ask you to leave the board? Pox on such thinking, if anyone is thinking it!

Stay here and participate, we need you.

Just a thought about food: I love oatmeal but I think that when I get hungry around noon the hunger is more intense if I've had oatmeal, as opposed to eggs, for breakfast. That's OK, I'll eat my oatmeal and have lunch really ready. But, I've really noticed that the last two days. Must be a carb and protein thing.

BBL,
Rhonda

Rhonda, why not have your oatmeal and then a boiled egg as a mid morning snack? Or have some yogurt? Add in a protein mid morning may help. Just a thought..

PAM-Congrats on your 1.6 also, you're so close to goal I wish I were with you. Thanks for I hope that I will be able to continue this tend making the scale go downward.

SAMMI-Some how I not a fan of the Momentum either. I like the old core better. Like you said its stricter and I think I need a program like that. I found that the new plan you have to track with points & I don't like tracking either. Just stay on the core if that what worked for you.

VICKIE-Of course you can stay with us,I hope that your new plan will work for you.I heard so many things about Nutra system, pros & cons but mostly pros.I like the portion control of the plan.

PAULA-Glad to hear that your DD is back to school and feeling better.Hope we don't get the :brr:bitter cold :brr:weather that they are predicting for Thursday. We're having veggie barley soup tonight.

SLOANE-I'm sure you must have lost something, sorry that your not really into the core. Hope you getting back to the meeting will help motivate you back to OP,and just in case here are some :dust: vibes going your way.

RHONDA-That's odd,you won't thing that would happen as oatmeal has fiber in it & it should keep you from hunger pains. But if you find that eggs curb the hunger by all means go back to a filling breakfast.

Have a nice evening se you in the morning.

Just a quick "HI"
Have to go and finish dinner. Being very bad tonight. Having pizza. Homemade. And not core. But will use my weekly points for this.
I didnt go and read the post real good. But see you were posting what you had for breakfast.
Well today I made Fiber One pancakes. And two small pieces of canadian bacon. You know that didnt stay with me. I was surprised. Guess I will go back to my Shredded Wheat.
I did see where some had a loss. CONGRATS. That is wonderful.
I had a loss this week also. Lost 2 lbs.
It is snowing here right now. And we are suppose to be getting some colder weather in. I hear the wind picking up. So must be bringing in the colder weather.
Well I will get off here for now.

I managed to stay OP yesterday and have been OP today, so far. I think I need some new recipes, and I know I need to keep the freezer stocked with core lunches. One thing that I have not been keeping up with is wpa's. I know that slows the weight loss down when I don't keep up with them.

Hi everyone. Well, we hada 26 people show up for our first at work meeting. Its great to have such a big group! I only gained 1 pound from the last time I officially weighed in - back on December 10th. So, I'm happy with that. I've set my tracker to be looking at just this session. I'm very excited to be on program and back to meetings. I feel just like you Sandra! I hope this excitement allows us both to be successful.

I had oatmeal for breakfast and a boiled egg a few hours later...it worked. I was not ravenously hungry.

Well, hold on folks...it was -2F here this morning without the windchill. DH drove me to the subway so I wouldn't freeze. I've come home early to work from here and he picked me up again. Wow! It's almost 30 below windchill here. I'm starting day 3. It's been HARD. I'm trying to figure out how all this goes. All I can say is WW is MUCH better if you can force yourself to cook and measure portions. I'm not sure how long I can stick to it, but I'm giving it the old college try.

Good Morning Chicks! Sorry to have been MIA. I got a phone call on Wednesday morning asking if Jim and I could watch our Great Niece and Nephew while their Mom and Dad took the 2 year old (my Godchild) to have a cast put on her arm. It was COLD and snowing so we weren't going anywhere. So we got that accomplished and all seems to be well. She actually seems like it hurts less with the cast on. Thursday was quiet. It was a non-Nutrisystem day for us. QVC only had the 5 day program but we bought it anyway. We decided we would have two days off but we'd not do weekends; we thought we'd split it up. So we are off on Thursdays and Mondays. We still plan to go to our favorite Core Italian restaurant on Thursdays and have Chipotle bowls for dinner on Monday. We have system LIKE foods for breakfast and lunch. Jim has exercised and/or snowblowed every day since we started. He's sure to lose over 10 pounds this week. I've done no exercise. I can't explain why but I will get on. I'd like to lose this weight as soon as possible.

Today we have to start washing all our light fixture glasses. Unfortunately, we have 8 rooms of the darned things. Why can't they make them so you don't have to take the bulbs out too?

I'm off to catch up with the rest of you.

We are at 9 below right now with a windchill of 24 below. We ran our errands yesterdays to that we could stay in today. Just quick runs out with the dog. All our schools are closed for the second day in a row. Yikes!

Thank you ALL so much for allowing me to stay here. It means a lot to me.

Sloan, it's hard to stay motivated. That's been one of my biggest problems too. Maybe we can motivate each other. Thanks for the veggie tip! Too bad I like mine with fat on them. I have noticed that there's lots of extra "gravy" with most of the meals so I can float some of the extra veggies in that~

Rhonda, I like Paula's idea about the protein. My oatmeal or shredded wheat never keep me full for long.

Maryann, it's such a delicate balance. Portion control is key but so is eating enough to keep yourself from going into starvation mode. I like that it's all laid out for me in a balanced way. I'm hungry though, so I know I was eating too much before.

Coco, you've been doing so awesome lately! It must help to have your DH working at it with you. I know it helps me to have Jim eating healthy too.

Paula, that's a great group size. When are your weigh ins? You sound SO enthused. I'm just determined. I hope that works.

Sandra, are you going to meetings? I miss mine. I made a great friend at the meetings and we've exchanged numbers and are keeping in contact. I hope that will help along with my contact with all of you. Nutrisystem and Jenny Craig are very similar. I chose NS because it is low glycemic too. How are you? You sound kind of down in the dumps? How did your weigh in go today?

Ok....time for me to go eat! Yay!

I maintained this week. Life is good. Today's eating has been all right. I have used some WPA's, though.

Rhonda, I hope Jake is all right. It was cold here last night (teens); but today it's back in the 40's. You know how Texas winters are. It'll be 60's tomorrow.

Vickie, I'm very excited about what you and Jim are doing. I love reading about it. Thank you for asking about me. I'm all right. My shooting's been sort of off lately and that always puts me down in the dumps. This morning's training went well. I'm looking to have good scores tomorrow.

I hear you on needing to eat enough to not go into starvation mode. WW wants me to eat 22 pts a day. That's too low for me. I have decided to eat 26. I can't figure out how to change my daily pts allowance online so I'll just use WAP's and AP's.

Maryann, thank you for suggesting I up my pts.

Vickie, I can't tell you how happy I am to see you posting. I have missed you soooooo much. :welcome: back.

Thanks, Sandra for the welcome home. Did you weigh in today? Tuesdays are going to be my weigh in day.

Good evening all. We are in a deep freeze here. It was -5 this morning. My daughter water pipes froze. I hope they don't bust. It's 5 degrees now, so I'm sure we are going below 0 again. This is so uncommon where we live. I guess the whole country is getting hit hard.

I only get 19 pts per day. That is nothing, once I use 6 pts for my milk and another 2 pts for my healthy oil. That leaves me 11 pts for food. I do earn 2 pts for activity, but the online tools use your WPA's first. I'ved used 2 of the 35 since Monday. I'm not sure if I should use the wpa's or not. What do you all do and what success have you had? I really miss my nuts and peanut butter, that I had on SBD. I guess I could use some of those extra points for that.

Have a good evening.

Pam, that's not many points. What amazes me is how WW says, "It's a lifestyle." I don't think it's a lifestyle if you're eating that few points. (It's not my lifestyle anyway.)

Good moring everyone. I got a new laptop at work yesterday. The same model, just brand new! I'm excited that they were able to carry all my stuff over - especially my wireless information for home. I really have no idea where the encryption password is or how to reset it (I set it all up 3 years ago and haven't touched it). So I checked it this morning and it works! woo hoo. As far as cold -- its about 4F here this morning. Our pantry is not heated (as planned) and is currently 38f (yes, it is inside the house!). Needless to say, that door is closed tight.

Food wise, I'm doing well. My wi day is back to Wednesdays and I'm really working toward a loss - especially since this is week #1 and it will be my first 100% on plan week (at least thats my goal). Since before Christmas, I've tried to stick to plan and write down everything, but I may have been doing it 70%. Which was fine to basically maintain, but now its time to get serious about dropping this extra weight and get back to goal.

Vickie - I would also suggest you add in a lot of fresh veggies and salads to bulk up the packaged meals. Try to give it a couple of weeks at least - you may get into a good groove, especially if the scale starts to move. The fact you have 2 non packaged food days will give you a chance to do healthy cooking. Does the plan allow you to eat anything outside of their foods? If I remember way back to when I did Jenny Craig, it did allow veggies. Don't give up......

Sandra, good luck with your training today. You'll be back on target in no time. Geesh - 60. Thats balmy! I'm heading down!

Rhonda, look up the chocolate cake recipe here. Its made of oatmeal and corn meal and I think its a good chocolate treat. If your craving isn't going away - maybe get a small package (single serving) of what you want adn count the points. I know if I get a craving for something specific; I just need to get the real thing and count the points. Maybe wait until after you wi?

Pam -19 points is not much at all. You could grow a few inched :)

Well, I should see if dd is coming downstairs anytime soon. She is in my room watching tv. She has gymnastics this morning - my neighbor is picking her up. The only other thing going on today is she has a bday party at 5:30. Me, I have laundry! Oh well. I'll stop back later.

Good Morning Ladies:)

Its still bitter:brr: cold this morning our weather radio is reading 1% outside hasn't moved up in the last hour.Wow!! we're all going to have some cold winter upon us.

Still eating around [26] 1300 to [28]1400 calories per day,I haven't gone on the scale to check what the outcome is,but Monday is only a few days way.The only thing I can tell you I'm not craving for snacks unless it planned.

VICKIE-Sorry:sorry: about your DGC breaking her arm, hope she heals soon. Thanks for explaining the portion control side of it,oh I definitely believe not to go into a starvation mode, that they reason I up my points ,don't feel hungry anymore to go into that mindless eating.

SANDRA-Good for you maintaining,[losing 1 lb]:carrot:body always needs a time to rest.I hope upping the points will help you, like it did me.I remember taking the quiz at the first meeting and came up with 20pts[1000] I told my leader it was to low for me, she just didn't listen:listen: and I wound up gaining so now I'm taking matters in my own hands and now I'm losing again.Sorry:sorry: I can't help you with the site as I'm not a member anymore.

PAM-YIKES!! :yikes: pipes do burst if the temps are that low,but I suggest that you keep your faucets dripping a little to keep the water flowing though the pipes. Thanks what our pumper told us,especially in this kind of weather. As for the WPA's I don't use them anymore I counting pts & calories..

RHONDA-Maybe :yes:you need some extra protein or good fat to keep you from craving carbs.Just a thought.

PAULA-How exciting:dancer: to get a new lap top. Best of luck:luck2you: with it. Happy:) to hear your your committed to 100% On Program.I'm twixing it as I'm using my own method of eating healthy, going up to a higher point range and for me it working so far. Crossing :crossed: my fingers for Mondays W-I.

Have to start my chore, will be back later

Morning ladies.

Still cold here but suppose to get up to 40 today. It's 19 right now.

I haven't counted calories, just points. I'm probably in starvation mode, with only 19 pts, but that is WW says I should eat. I am eating filling foods, so maybe it's more calories. I should count and see, but I hate doing that. I hate tracking too, but I'm doing that for a couple weeks and then changing to Simply Filling technique. The scale was nice to me today. I had too much sodium on Wednesday, and it took 3 days to get it all out of my system. Been drinking lots of water and that seems to get the scale moving too.

Maryann, Monday evening is my WI day too. Hope the extra points work for you. I want to try eating all my WPA one week to see if that will make a difference.

Paula, enjoy your new laptop. I got one for Christmas and love it.

Sandra, I agree about 19 pts not being a lifestyle.

Rhonda, have you tried the black bean brownies? They are pretty good.

Need to go grocery shopping today.

Hope everyone stays warm. I am sick of this cold and can't wait for Spring to get here. I

Hi Everyone
Just a quick check in.
It is cold in the room where the computer is. So wont be here long.
Having some cold weather. But not as cold as some. We had -7 here this morning. But it has warmed up to 20. Saw some snow flurries a few minutes ago. So hope we dont get a bunch of snow now.
Had to take our one doggie to the Vet's yesterday. Not sure what is going on with her. They put her on predisone. And a antibotic for 21 days. She seems to have hurt her back leg or something. Cause sometimes when you go to pick her up she will whine. And she isnt wanting to get on the couch by herself. Which is unusal. Because she likes to lay with you.
Well I am going to get off here for now.
My hands are getting cold. And getting close to time for the doggie to have her meds.
I hope everyone is doing ok with the cold weather.
Thinking of each of you.
Stay warm. And be careful going out. Bundle up good. And watch for ice.

Well Chicks, I only made it 5 days. I could deal with everything but the system foods. I'm so sad. I don't know what I'm going to do. Jim wants to stay on Nutrisystem for 5 months so I'm kind of at a loss. I'm regrouping.

Good Morning Ladies:)

Another bad snow day,so I'm not heading out for church again. The weather man last night said we were going to have rain and the downpours would wash the snow away. Can't believe or want this winter anymore.

Another disappointing moment happened when looking over my nutritional reports on Fit day.Its showing that I'm having too much sodium than recommend by the RDA. Do any of you know what the green & red numbers next to the nutrient columns are ????

Other than that I happy to living in a warm home with my Leo and having my health is very important right now. I blessed with both.

PAM-Thanks I hope so to,but Not expecting much on the scale tomorrow, now that I saw my sodium chart. Its so frustrating as I don't use salt at all in cooking or on the table. Where is this sodium coming from, its in our foods. Have to drink lots of WATER today to flush the whole weeks sodium out of my system.

COCO=Sorry to hear about your doggy.Hope that the predisone and antibiotics works on her. Looks like its going to be a heat wave at a whole 33 * Looks like the snow is melting now that the rain is hitting it. Should be nice on Monday.

VICKIE-So sorry you feeling so badly.Sending you [[[[[[:goodvibes: and :dust: vibes]]]]]] your way.

Going to get dressed

Vickie, this play may be perfect for Jim but not for you. You'll find what works best for you. Curtis and I aren't able to do exactly the same even when we think we are. I was in the same boat as you just a short time ago. I couldn't figure out what plan I wanted to follow. I even bought different fat burners and other weightloss aids. I wound up back here on WW. The key for me was adding exercise. I don't really like doing it, but it helps so much that I try to force myself. I can't always make myself do it but I am doing it more than I had been. (Am I talking in circles here?)

Anyway, I am behind you 100%. I understand 100%. And I wish you success 100%.

That being said, I'm struggling this weekend. So far I've used several WAP's and would have used more if I'd had anything to spend them on. I need to get off here and get on the :ebike: That should help.

Our grands are off from school tomorrow. I would have liked to keep them but we have a super big outdoor project that's beginning tomorrow. We have a friend coming with a trencher so we can run some water to the pond, I have a truckload of topsoil, landscape mix, and potting soil that I'll be unloading and placing in the new beds. Also, it's looking like I'll have to go get another truckload. The girls like their sitter cuz there are other girls their age there. I think it will be good for them to have a day to play.

Rhonda, how about those low point brownies made with All Bran cereal? They're really really good and you have to watch your portions carefully because of the bran. I made a sf/ff chocolate pie today. I counted 6 pts for a slice that had Cool Whip on it.

Wish I could pipe some warmer air to all of you in the freezer. We're having glorious weather here. My daffodils are popping above ground and the fruit trees are starting to bud out. We will prob have some more cold weather but most likely not much. But who knows? This is Texas and the weather can be weird.

Maryann and Pam, I'm going to use my AP's as I earn them each day and not save them for later in the week. That'll give me 4 more points per day.

Paula, I like your attitude. 100% is the way to go. Good success for wi this Wednesday. I'm so glad you have meetings at work again.

Hi Everyone
Well it did warm up today. But we got some snow. And the roads got bad. We were out on them. On the interstate in fact. Son was driving. He had to put his truck in four wheel drive for a little ways. I didnt like that. We saw one wreck. Looked like the truck had rolled over. And we saw a couple of places where cars had been in the median. But we got home safely.
VICKIE I am thinking of you. I know you will get back on track.
BEACHBUM Doggy is doing better. She was able to come up the stairs today. And get on the couch by herself. So that is good. It is so hard to watch the sodium intake. Everything has so much salt in it.
Well I am going to get off here.
Hope everyone is doing ok.
Thinking of each of you.

Coco, I'm glad you made it home all right.

I did 40 min :ebike: instead of 60, but that's all right.
