This weekend was not fun, I just felt very uncomfortable. Lots of stretching going on and lots of gas pains (and burping to go along with it). I need to take some new belly pics and post them :)

We haven't started on the nursery yet. The oil company is coming on Thursday to install the ductwork into the room so there will be a heating/AC vent. A couple of our friends are going to come I think on the 31st/1st to help us put up drywall and then DH and I will install the floating hardwood floor ourselves. Still lots of work to do in there!

My mom got the hall for the baby shower. It will be March 1st. The theme of the shower is going to be safari animals too. My mom sent me a picture of their attempt at a centerpiece for a table - a small diaper cake. It was cute! Apparently they have like 7 more of them to make! :o

I went out yesterday and tried to finish registering. Its so overwhelming! I think I need to go back to Babies R Us one more time. I'm getting sick of that store hahaha

Also, my last remission test in December came back negative! So happy about that, I can't even describe it. At this point if I relapse, the doctors wouldn't even consider putting me on the medication until after delivery anyway. I'm glad that the baby is "out of the woods" when it comes to that.

Mod - sorry to hear that you're uncomfortable...I wish I could say it got better from here ;)

Our new son, Connor, is 2 weeks today. It's hard to believe, actually. I rather miss being pregnant.

Nursing is going really well - he has adapted to his two hour schedule (during the day) like a champ and as a result has been sleeping for around 4 hours at a time during the night. Hey, I'll take it :)

He is also a really easy baby - He is easy to read as far as what he needs, so there haven't been any long crying sessions.

Hope all the other preggos are doing well!

zeffryn - I was wondering if you had him!! How has it been with the landlord, did he get everything fixed before Connor arrived? Love your new avi ;)

Hi ladies,

I hope that everyone is doing well. I am finally on my last box in my ticker - it seems like it took forever to get here. I went for me weekly dr appt today and am now dialited to a 3 and 80%. She said she can feel the babies head and my bag is bulgy on the underside so it could be any day. I will be so glad when it is over with. I am measuring 41 weeks and have been about 3 weeks ahead since about 30 weeks. I am hoping this baby is not too big. My other kids were little - my son weighed 5lbs 12oz and my daughter 5lbs 8oz. I am just hoping this one fits. My midwife said I have a roomy pelvis in the back, but it funnels in the front.

zeffryn - congrats on the new baby! Your avitar is so cute - what a proud big brother he is. I know I will miss being pregnant once baby is here too, even though that is hard to imagine now.

modkitten - I am so glad your test came out negative - what a blessing and relief I bet. I totally understand the uncomfortableness. but hang in there and think of that sweet baby that you will have in your arms soon enough. Wow...7 more diaper cakes. I had my shower this weekend and my best friend and sister made one for us. It was so cute, but they said it was a pain in the keaster. ;)

I had better get off here and finish up for the night, but I will let you know once baby is here...hopefully not too long!

TTFN!

i'm so excited to be joining this part of the forum! i just found out on saturday that i am pregnant :) i will be 5 weeks on wednesday. i made my first appointment today, it's feb. 6, but i asked to have my blood work done before then due to my m/c in july. i went today and had my blood drawn and will go again on wednesday so my hcg levels can be checked. i am feeling really good!!

zeffryn: congrats on the little one! your picture is very sweet!

lovinlifex2: i dream of having babies that are little, even 7 or 8lbs! my dd was 10lbs 5oz!! i love being pregnant, but i can not wait to be where you are! so close to holding your baby in your arms!! hope you have a easy, peaceful labor and delivery!

modkitten: baby showers are so fun! i remember how overwhelming it was to register! i didn't have a clue what i was going to need, or truely use!

Congrats zeffryn!! Me and my fiance had agreed on Connor as a middle name if the baby was to be a boy. I found out on the 7th the baby is a girl just like I had dreamed. :) Lily will be her first name. All is well with baby.. so far she is 1lb and 12oz. Go to the doctor on the 13th. That's about it so far. I live in Alaska and our -30s to -40s below seem to be finally fading. It's -14 at the moment and should be a warmer tomorrow. So excited!

Pixiefalls - Yay for the name Lily! That's my DD's name and I get tons of compliments on it. Your Alaska weather is making me feel way better about our Alberta weather. We spent most of December in a deep freeze her but it's still been warmer than what you had.

jmb1981 - Congrats on the pregnancy! How very exciting!

As for me, I'm feeling pretty good. The second trimester is being kind to me and now that I've finally shaken off the head cold that I got a couple of weeks ago I'm feeling almost back to my normal self. I'm still sleeping more than normal (12 hours last night!) but I'm not tired like I was and my food aversions and nausea are pretty much gone.

I made it to the gym today and it went really well. I hadn't been in four weeks so I was worried about how different I would feel at 16 weeks as opposed to 12 weeks, but other than just doing things slower it was pretty much the same. I had to wear different clothing since my running stuff just isn't comfortable anymore, but I'm very proud that I got in 2.5K of running and another 5.5K on the elliptical.

Hey everyone...
I am a new prego. I am 6w1d and found out the day before New Year's Eve. I had some tests done at my regular dr. while waiting to get in to see the OB and everything came back all good. I was concerned about my hcg, b/c I had a m/c in 2001 and the hcg was not at the right level. This time it was right in the range it should be. When I see the OB on the 26th, I am going to ask for another test, to compare. My BP was 138/80 while at the dr ofc, but when I got home, my mom checked it and it was back to it's norm of 100/60. It must've been the dr ofc jitters. Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi. Good luck to everyone...I'll be around.

I just noticed this part of 3fatchicks forum. I am 13 weeks pregnant today. I am by the charts morbidly obese. I want this pregnancy to go as well as possible and to be as healthy as possible. First pregnancy weigh in was 241 and i am only 242 after 13 weeks :carrot: and and fluctuating down every once in awhile. This looks like a nice group of ladies. Anyone have healthy cravings?:^:

I actually have craved fruit this entire pregnancy! During the spring / summer, I had a nectarine or peach with my oatmeal every morning and now, its a Gala apple every morning. I find I eat a lot of oranges as well but mostly in the evenings. They're good for those times when I want something sweet or a little bit tangy. I also have eaten a lot of dairy and found that the Cottage Doubles (cottage cheese with fruit topping) make really good snacks.
Of course, these days, there's not much room left for my stomach since I'm 19 days away from my due date. The whole idea of small, frequent snacks is the only way I can stand to eat!

Tommorrow is my last ultrasound, just to check babys weight and measurement and then its off to my c-section on the 29th. I can`t wait and time is definately dragging.

Wow there has been a lot of chatter on here :) I've been doing OK. I've been sleeping a little better lately. Work has been stressful, I actually have more to complain about with work than I do with the pregnancy right now lol. I can't believe I am almost in my third trimester. Boy, time has flown by!

Here are some belly pics for you that I took last night :)

jmb - Congratulations to you!
pixie - I don't know how you survive in that cold (let alone how much it must cost for you to heat your home)!
Misty - Welcome to our forum lady! ;)
Cherry - Congrats to you and welcome to our group!
beauty - I have been eating lots of oranges too. If I am craving something sweet I will eat an orange and that will usually satisfy the craving.
Jayme - Do you mind me asking why you have a c-section planned? I am just curious.

modkitten: i had a c-section with my first born (10years ago!!) because of failing to progress after 3 attempted inductions at 41 weeks. They determined that my pelvis wasnt big enough for the babies head to drop down,, so any further pregnancies would have to be sections as well.

P.s thats a great prego belly,,, wish mine looked like that:)

Aww thanks ladies! I really think my belly is so round because of all the fat on top of it  I've been getting really unhappy with my weight gain lately. I told myself I was going to gain the recommended amount and :blah::blah::blah: but of course that hasn't happened. I'm already up about 30 pounds. I'm hoping not to gain more than 10 more.

Jayme - Wow that must have been scary and frustrating to go through with your first! I have a friend who has had three c-sections (her first was not planned) and keeps telling me how great they are.

Hello Ladies! I just found out that I am pregnant and wanted to join in on the discussion! I am a little concerned about my health and weight during the pregnancy, but I am just trying to keep everything I eat very healthy! I am also trying to stay active and walk on the treadmill atleast 5 days a week. I don't go to the doctor until next week, maybe she will give me some sort of meal plan to follow.

i had a c-section with my daughter and am hoping to be able to have a vaginal birth this time around. i had a bad experience with the c-section and don't feel it was completely necessary. i am okay with another c-section if i am not able to delivery vaginally this time around. it's more important for me that my baby is here term and healthy! i just know with having my daughter at home and trying to care for a newborn i would prefer to have a quicker recovery!

Hi girls! I hope it's ok for me to jump in! I see that I have tracked down Kim & Blueye again :)

I found out on 12/29 that I'm pregnant. My edd is 8/24/09 - but I don't think I'm that far along do to a long cycle. I think it's about a week off. I go in on the 26th for an ultra sound to confirm the due date, check the heartbeat etc. I'm considered at risk, due to a LEEP procueure I had done in September.

Other than that I'm SO HAPPY to be here!!!

I just can't quit you girls. I love hearing the pregnancy stories. I miss being pregnant just a little bit.

An update on our little one - he's wonderful and easy. Has slept well right out of the gate, but these past few nights has been sleeping for 4-5 hours at a time during the night, nursing and then falling right back to sleep. He's done well at putting himself to sleep when we put him back into his bassinet after being fed. He is usually pretty drowsy and just slips off to sleep within a few minutes. It's great not to have to rock him to sleep time after time and I know that I will really love not having to do it when he is older. I can't tell you how nice it is that DS1 knows how to fall asleep on his own.

Ah well...off to feed the little one and then I might try to squeeze in a nap.

Hey everyone...
I go for my first OB appt in 15 mins! I am excited and nervous! With the 8 week marker today came even more breast tenderness (can they get anymore sore?????), I can barely walk without pain b/c of the movement! Also came the worst nausea I have ever had. I have had a few small bouts, but nothing like what I had today. Also, came this nice little headache that I have now. Whew...what a day it's been! My bf is meeting me at the appt, we are both super excited! In the past I have been told that I may have a heart-shaped uterus, so I am wondering if the dr will want to do an ultrasound to confirm that. I hope so, I would love to see the heartbeat! I am also exhausted from waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to fall back asleep! That has been the worst!

Do any of you have a male OBGYN? I asked for a female and over the weekend, when I got my papers to fill out for today's appt, I noticed that they made my appt with a male dr. I don't know how comfortable my bf and I are with that. I just feel like having a female dr, preferably if they had a child themselves, will help b/c they will know what I am talking. How can he possibly understand how I am feeling or what I am going through? Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated!

Hey Eny..congrats on the pregnancy! I know how bad you were wanting to get prego! Hey to everyone else! I hope everyone is doing well! j

Jyme31...you will definitely be in my thoughts and prayers all week. good luck and please keep us updated on how you and the baby are!

I better start shutting down and heading out! I will give y'all an update later tonight or tomorrow! Have a great rest of the day everyone!

Misty I had my u/s on Monday - and it went GREAT! Found out that I'm 8 weeks too. You and I have the same due date.

As for OBs - I have the GREATEST man in the world for an OBGYN. i wouldn't trade him in a million years! And he DOES get all the emaotional stuff.. he's had 7 kids of his own... and while he might not have expierenced them first hand - he had to live through the rath of pregnant women that blamed him solely for what was happening (he's been married 2ce).

As for your choice in OB - generally if your Dr. is in a partnership you're required to meet with every doctor in the practice and don't get to pick. They do this so that you've at least shook hands with the person that will potentially be delivering your little one. There really isn't a way around this w/out switching OBs. And to tell you the truth... I have found between me and my girlfriends who have pretty much gone to every OB and mid-wife in Michigan - the men are more sensitive then the women... ESPECIALLY the women that have had kids.. they have this "I did it - buck up and stop B!t<hing" attitude that I find completely disheartening. And when you're in labor, you really don't care who's doing the catching as long as someone's down there to make sure the baby doesn't hit floor.

Let us know how everything went. :)

Hey everyone...
The u/s went great. The nurse practioner that was originally doing it was having a hard time getting around my pubic bone to the side of the uterus that the baby was attached to. She fished around for about 10 minutes and then said she thought there was no heartbeat to find. She went and got the dr and he found it within a minute! I guess my uterus tilted a little early and it took a master to get around everything, but he did it. I actually found him to be extremely nice and now I kinda of regret having changed to a female before meeting him. I liked him so much that I may call and change my appt. He said everything looked good, we even got a little picture, which was awesome! He had a hard time getting a perfectly clear shot, so I measured at 7w4d, which is 3 days behind when I thought, but he said that may be due to the unclear image. I am scheduling my 20 week u/s today, it's going to be the day before my birthday! What a gift it will be to find out the gender around my 30th birthday!
Other than that, all is well. Yesterday and today the nausea have calmed down, maybe Monday was a freak thing. I have no idea. My breasts are still SUPER tender, I can't wait for that to go away!!

Eny--that's awesome that we have the same due date! How have you been feeling? Have you had morning sickness or any of the other "fun" symptoms! My bf says I am like a bloodhound b/c I can smell things at least 10 to 15 feet further away than he can. LOL!

I hope that everyone is doing well!! Take care!

So I had my 27 week appointment today. Officially in the 7th month and third trimester! I found out my remission test from last week came back negative (:woohoo:) and also that the OB is thinking of delivering me between 38 and 40 weeks as long as the baby looks OK so that I can get back on my meds sooner. She said she won't let me go past 40 weeks. I can't believe I only have 11-13 weeks left!

I'm feeling a little better from the other day, but still not great. Just have to keep getting lots of rest and drinking all my liquids. I did have a chest x-ray today which I didn't feel 100% great about because of the exposure to the baby, but if I have bronchitis or pneumonia, I need to get it taken care of.

Jayme! I want to see that beautiful baby girl of yours!

Connor is doing exceptional. He's 10 lbs. already and plumping up nicely. He is definitely going through a growth spurt at the moment and is feeding all the time.

This two children thing takes a bit of getting used to. For about the first two weeks, I cleaned the house like I normally do....slowly things started dropping off and now we're using paper plates and doing dishes as we need them. I hate it but it is a necessity right now until I get used to all of this!

thanks for the well wishes!!

My baby girl was born on Jan 29th @ 11:39am,,, by scheduled csection. She weighed 7lbs 4.5oz and is sooo precious,, We are in love:) xoxoxoox

We spent three nights in the hospital..and came home on Sunday..Its already been a week that we`ve been home and altough we are exhausted,, we love every second spent with our little girl.

Her name is Noelle Alexsis:)

Zeffryn,, I hear you about the house work etc...our house is falling apart lol and keeping it clean is so much less of a priority. We are too tired to clean it. My 10yr old son is doing well with having a little sister after all these years...we expect that he may get some jealousy issues soon but we are ready for it...so far , he is great with her. Luckily he has been the only one sleeping all night long, so he is atleast well rested and not cranky from lack of sleep.
