View Full Version : LAWL Menu Plan Drop Sequence

Since many of the centers have closed recently I figured this may be a good time to post this information up. This is the menu plan that you would follow based on different height's and weights. Age no longer matters on the newer menu plans. These are for programs WITH LA Lites, if you are not using them or any form of substitute for them then you would go to the next plan up. If your weight is within five pounds from being on the next menu plan down go ahead and start on that one. This is the drop sequence for women, male plan is a little different.

Plan One
5= 133 lbs. or less
5'1= 135 lbs. or less
5'2= 138 or less
5'3=141 or less
5'4= 144 or less
5'5= 147 or less
5'6= 150
5'7= 153
5'8= 156

Plan One:
2 Proteins
2 Veggie
2 Fruit
2 Starch
1 dairy
1 fat
2 LA Lite

Plan Two:
5= 134-173 lbs
5'1= 136-175 lbs.
5'2= 139-178 lbs
5'3 = 142-181 lbs.
5'4 = 145-184 lbs.
5'5 = 148-187 lbs.
5'6= 151-190
5'7 = 154-193
5'8 = 157-196
5'9 = 160-199

Plan Two consists of:
2.5 proteins
3 veggies
2 fruits
3 starches
2 dairy
2 fat
2 la lites

Plan Three
5'0 = 174-223
5'1 = 176-225
5'2 = 179-228
5'3 = 182-231
5'4 = 185-234
5'5= 188-237
5'6= 191-240
5'7= 194-223
5'8= 197-246
5'9= 200-249

Plan three
3 proteins
4 veggies
3 fruits
4 starches
2 dairy
2 fat
2 la lites

Plan Four
*if you are at a weight higher than the menu three guidelines then your menu will consist of:

3.5 proteins
5 veggies
4 fruit
5 starches
3 dairy
2 fat
2 la lites

You can drop to the next menu preferably within 5 lbs. To break a plateau you can do what is known as "take off 2." You follow it for two consecuitve days and for the entire two days you will ONLY eat unlimited green (cooked or raw) vegetables, 6 oz. of cooked protein and 2 la lite bars. If you have take off juice you will use 4 oz. of to juice with 4 oz. of water 4 times each day for two days. If you do not have the juice you may use 1/4 of a cantaloupe or 1/2 of an orange or grapefruit for each serving of juice. Stick to the condiments out lined in your FTL menu kit but really up your water intake. Coming off take off limit high sodium foods and red meat for the first three days. I've found that Take off 1 (just the juice, mean and green veggies works best if you have fallen off the wagon however)

Some suitable replacements are SBD high protein cereal bars, luna bars and the smaller detour low sugar bars, snicker maraton bars (ones containing 160 cals). As for your slim down shakes look for protein shakes that contain at least 20 grams of protein and less than 250 calories. A suitable replacement for Jet Starts are Monster LoBall coffee flavored energy drinks, most convenient stores carry them.

That's great Andrea, the women on my family have started to use this seeing as how they are not willing to get involved with such an unstable company with the CODs closing like crazy. I'm just curious if someone has the one info for males, as it would really help me to know when to change plans since the COD closed. Thanks.

**If you are following the plan and are breast feeding and you are the child's sole source of nourishment then you need to add 1 protein, 1 starch, 1 dairy and 1 fat to your menu plan**

I have the drop sequence for males as well. I'll scan it tomorrow and post it up because it's a lot to retype. I'll also see if I can get the new FTL menu kit to scan since there was some questions on that.

Well I would start on plan 3 I guess. The plan I bought is the color plans which would have me on red for a short while then drop to purple...I'm not sure whether to do colored or numbered plans!? I know the portion sizes are different on them....anyone else have any thoughts on which plans are easier to follow or more successful?

IMHO the numbered plans are easier to follow. As far as what works better that's up to you. The colors worked great if they were followed to a T without carbcravers and they were very challenging as far as dining out. I saw better success with clients keeping their weight off that lost it on the numbered plans though. Calorie wise it's about the same thing. I think the numbered plans make more sense from a nutritional standpoint though.

thanks! I may try that...my mother was on LA right before they closed and I have her books...the free to live book and all so might make things easier to follow having all that too. Plus the proteins sizes are cooked weight right?

AndreaMarie

Yup, protein is the cooked weight, if you weigh it raw just add one ounce. As far as the exchanges go I'm going to try to scan the FTL infor.

South Beach Diet. Here's a link, they are really good!

You can find them in any grocery store though so I wouldn't buy them off line unless you find a really good deal.

AndreaMarie
01-09-2009, 09:35 AM
The protein ounces are 4 ounces cooked for lean proteins (white meat chicken, tuna, lean fish) ; 3 oz. for lean sirloin, fatty fish

If you work out less than 5 hours per week arobically then this is the plan that you would follow.

There wasn't an actual drop sequence for that, it was done with a worksheet that you added certain amounts to the lowest weight that LA could take you until you got to your current weight and then whatever "color" you were in at that point would be your plan and it dropped based on the worksheet.

Healthy Females 18-65 years

Ideal Weight + 10 = GREEN
Ideal Weight + 25 = Gold
Ideal Weight + 60 = Purple
Ideal Weight + 80 = RED
Ideal Weight + 100 = RED 1

This is not what you want your "ideal" weight to be, this is what the charts told us. For instance 5'6 = 130, up 3 lbs. for ever inch and down 3 lbs. for every inch.

I couldnt find that type, but bought Snickers Marathon protein bars...chocolate nut i think. They have a lot of protein (15g?) but 220 calories. Are these ok?

Thanks!

I currently have the red menu plan kit- 5'4, 220 lbs, looking to lose 70-85 lbs. Compared to plan 3, the red plan has me eating .5 less protein, 1 less starch, 1 less dairy, and 1 less fat. I found that, no matter which plan, lawl has me eating more food than I typically do. That being said, I don't think I'd be able to eat the la lites or a substitute. I'd like to start doing 20-30 minutes of cardio daily. Being that I have a lot of weight to lose, I would think that I should be using the plan that has me eating the least amount. Then again, I could always save that for a plateau. So, should I try starting with the red plan or plan 3? Also, is meat the only difference in serving sizes between the two plans? I only have the red brochure thing to go by.

Greetings to all reading this thread. I have a question about the "COLORED" plan for "AndreaMarie" on anyone else who might be able to answer this question.

Basic Information About Me:
I am Female - 5'2" and 35 yrs. old I weigh about 235 pounds. I am not currently working out. Not on any medications either. Once one of my lovely forum buddies can help me confirmed which plan is best for me I WILL be using the LA Lites or Substitutes.

My Question:
I went to LAWL when they were using the color plans. I have in my possesion RED1, RED, Purple, Gold and Green Plans. (my husband and I were both on the plan). Since I have gained a considerable amount of weight since I have last visited a center I am unsure as to what plan I should be on. I am not at all familiar with the "Number Plans" I wish I was. Based on my Stats listed above does anyone know which plan would be best for me to use. According the the LAWL Counselor I seen the last time I visited a center they told me that my ideal body weight accirding to my height would be 118-129 pounds.

Thanks for everyone's help. I appreciate it :):hug:

AndreaMarie - just for clarification - does this mean that men should not go below plan 3? My DH is right on the border of 3 and 4 and so I was going to try plan 4 w/o lites for him, should this keep him losing until he reaches goal? He is 5'6 and just about 200 lbs (he won't tell me the exact number).

If he's not eating any of his veggies he needs to add in an additional serving of fruit. It seems like a lot but it's really not, especially for men.

I am starting up again. It's been years since I have done this, so I am very green. What sounds the easiest to understand is the drop sequence plan. I would be on plan 2. Is here a list somewhat the explains what a dairy is and how much is 2, what is considered a starch and how much is 3?, etc. Luna bars I understand are LA Lite substitutes, so that means I can have 2 bars a day? Thanks for your help.

Okay...so plan 2 is what I'd be on...that is more food than gold. I'm confused and not sure which way to go.

It says 2.5 proteins...and right now I'm doing 2 (according to the old gold plan) are the portion sizes the same?

Kimphin
01-19-2010, 10:00 AM
I think that the portion sizes changed so that 1 serving of protein is the same no matter what plan. I think in gold it used to be 6 ounces? Now I think it is smaller than that under numbered plans. It's in this thread somewhere.

Kimphin
01-19-2010, 10:02 AM
The protein ounces are 4 ounces cooked for lean proteins (white meat chicken, tuna, lean fish) ; 3 oz. for lean sirloin, fatty fish

If you work out less than 5 hours per week arobically then this is the plan that you would follow.

here's the protein portions.

Hi I was wondering if you could send those to me. I lost 130pds with La weight loss a few years ago and have kept it off now I'm trying to help a friend, but don't have all the information to give her. I would really appreciate it if you could send that to me.

thanks for all the information on the new plan. However, instead of purchasing all the new stuff, I have jumped in on the old color plan. I would like to know if anyone has the order of the old plan colors and at what weight did you start the different color. I started on the Red and can't remember if it is purple or blue that comes next. I did notice that the difference between the two plans is that they have added more food to the new plan. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Week one, down 6 lbs in 4 days!

Healthy Females 18-65 years

Ideal Weight + 10 = GREEN
Ideal Weight + 25 = Gold
Ideal Weight + 60 = Purple
Ideal Weight + 80 = RED
Ideal Weight + 100 = RED 1

If you don't do the LA Lites then bump up one higher plan to make up for the calories in the Lites.

I am starting over again too. I tried the numbered plans at the end just before they closed but do better on the color coded plans because it is more protein and less carbs/starches.

Thanks so much! I am actually liking this plan again! I am using the Luna bars instead of purchasing their LA Lites. I find they are very tasty and really do the job as far as taking away my cravings. Thanks again!

You are welcome. I wish I could use Lunas but I am allergic to soy. I am using whey protein drinks with about the same calories as the Lunas but a little more protein and lots less carbs.

Okay, I have a question for Andreamarie or anyone else who can help me. I teach and for lunch I have been taking a salad with tuna as a protein but as of late the tuna thing is getting really really ugh! To say the least. So I recently started taking frozen entrees for lunch. My question is this. What kind should I be eating? I try to stick to lean cuisines and healthy choices. Anyone can email me at tnsnowdogs at gmail dot com

I know how many proteins and such but I lost the book on how much of each food is a serving. When I was on LA before i lost 75 pounds. I ordered the lites and take off juice. But to order the plans it was 15.00 for my husband and 15.00 for myself plus 16.00 to send the 2 small books. Any info would be great.

Plan One
5= 133 lbs. or less
5'1= 135 lbs. or less
5'2= 138 or less
5'3=141 or less
5'4= 144 or less
5'5= 147 or less
5'6= 150
5'7= 153
5'8= 156

Plan One:
2 Proteins
2 Veggie
2 Fruit
2 Starch
1 dairy
1 fat
2 LA Lite

Plan Two:
5= 134-173 lbs
5'1= 136-175 lbs.
5'2= 139-178 lbs
5'3 = 142-181 lbs.
5'4 = 145-184 lbs.
5'5 = 148-187 lbs.
5'6= 151-190
5'7 = 154-193
5'8 = 157-196
5'9 = 160-199

Plan Two consists of:
2.5 proteins
3 veggies
2 fruits
3 starches
2 dairy
2 fat
2 la lites

Plan Three
5'0 = 174-223
5'1 = 176-225
5'2 = 179-228
5'3 = 182-231
5'4 = 185-234
5'5= 188-237
5'6= 191-240
5'7= 194-223
5'8= 197-246
5'9= 200-249

Plan three
3 proteins
4 veggies
3 fruits
4 starches
2 dairy
2 fat
2 la lites

Hi Andrea,

What plan would I be on I am 5'5 and need to drop 50 pounds I did LA 6 years ago I was gold then would I be purple now? I need to buy the book from ebay so I know how to shop and eat.

I need some quick help if anyone would be willing. I did LAWL back in 2007. At that time I was on the purple plan. It looks like they have changed things a bit (numbered plans) and need to know where I would be with no LA Lites. I am 5'8, 185. Would this mean I should do plan 3? Also can I use the measurements for food listed in the purple plan?

I am going back on the LAWL plans, I am on plan 3. I started the ties after labor day so obviously from the weekend I had a lot of water retention and was up 8 lbs I lost that by Thursday. I want to make sure that I shouldn't be doing something before really getting into the plan that will help with results.. Any advice to help get this weight off would be great:-)
Also what is the original take off plan?

Ok so I bought the plan that the la weight loss site suggested I buy. Plan #2 which is red. I received my book and my diaries. Question though my book says I need 2.5 proteins, 4 veggies, 3 fruits, 3 starches, 1 dairy, and 1 fat with 2 lites....my diary says I need 3 proteins, 2 veggies, 2 fruits, 2 starches, 1 dairy, 1 fats 2 lites. what do I do? both diary and book are red. I'm so very confused. I used to be on the purple and gold plans years ago. I'm 32, 5'3", 166 pounds, zero exercise. I read through some forums to find me an answer but none.

juliemarie
09-09-2011, 03:16 PM
Where did you buy it from? Can you call and ask why there is a discrepancy? I have no clue about #'d plans . . . .There is a red and a red plus with the colored plans but i don't know what the problem is.

Also-instead of replying to lots of threads--the only thread that active (the few of us that are here) really read is the monthly chat one. Or start a new one like you did with this same question. I just don't know that anyone will be able to answer except whomever sold you the plans . . . From your stats-I would guess your book is right and your diary is wrong. But that's just a guess . . . .

I bought them from the la weight loss web site. I just found out it is the Rapid weight loss plan I bought instead of the regular plans. Now I don't know how to get the plan I need. Their web site only has stuff for the rapid weight loss.

sorry-I did LAWL before the #'d plans and Rapid wt loss plans occurred. I would say you should be on either purple or gold colored plan (that's all i know about, sorry). The servings sizes should be the same as in the books you have. You can always modify the diary to suit your needs.

Frogme
09-09-2011, 07:24 PM
Yes, I think when I was doing it I went from purple to gold but I really cant remember...this is sad lol my memory is horrible about the portions and so forth and at one time is was second nature to me. I have a gold diary but the books are what I cant find anywhere. I was hoping someone had them and could share. I would even pay for them but I just dont know where to go for them.

The purple plan has bigger protein portions. 6 oz for beef, 8 oz for chicken, 3/4 cup cottage cheese, 3 eggs, 3/4 cup egg beaters, 3 T peanut butter. When I first started with LAWL, I was on the purple plan w/o lites.

I think the main difference between the #'d and colored plans is they kept the serving sizes all the same and just readjusted the # of servings to keep things simpler. So-there's no reason to not just stick with the purple plan. As for the Rapid Weight Loss plan-I think you could either use it to kickstart your diet or to break a plateau.

I think you're over analyzing things too much. Just start! ;)

Either plan sound doable.
2.5 proteins, 4 veggies, 3 fruits, 3 starches, 1 dairy, and 1 fat with 2 lites..
or the
3 proteins, 2 veggies, 2 fruits, 2 starches, 1 dairy, 1 fats 2 lites

Personally I'd prefer the first one with more veggie servings. The first plan is close to my old purple plan I'm following now. If you did either of these and cut out all the junk food and sweets the weight will fall off of you!

Sweetlilly- Taken from the OP's from this thread:
You should be on Plan 4 as a baseline. Plan 4 until you drop to 234lbs, then move to plan 3. but if you are BF you should add the following: 1 protein, 1 starch, 1 dairy and 1 fat to your baseline program. So Plan 4 is the following:

3.5 proteins
5 veggies
4fruit
5 starches
3 dairy
2 fats
2 lites

Plus the bf bonus exchanges for a total of:

4.5 protein
5 veggies
6 starches
4 dairy
3 fat

I did this bf with my 3 kids and the weight FELL OFF!!!

Lars-
I would be happy to look through my plans but I was on the "old" colors and then transition to the "new" colors when the centers went to Pure Weight loss in my area.

I am not sure if the portions are the same between old plans and newer numbered plans.

The OP has a great bit of info that I ended up printing out for further reference. I am sure we might find it in there.

According to my "old" red plus plus, the servings size for turkey 8oz, chicken 7oz, most fish 7oz. Tuna (canned, low sodium is 6oz) Limited proteins: 3 lg eggs, 5.5 oz beef, 2c dry cooked beans, or 3/4c eggbeater (no limit on egg substitute)
Veggies: 1/2 c cooked = 1 c raw
Starches: 3 rf triscuit crackers, 4 ff saltines, 1 sl 40 cal diet bread, 1 unsalted rice cake, 1/2 small 4" ww pita
Fruit: 1c watermelon, rasberries, cranberries, 1 sm apple, tangerine, peach, orange, lemon. 12 strawberries, 1/c unsweetened applesauce, 1 med plum, lime, clementine, kiwi.

I was on LA back in 2010 and it worked like magic and I lost over 100lbs, then I got pregnant and gained 60 back and have had a hard time losing since having my son back in 2012. I have read a lot of people have information about the different plans and I sincerely apologize for asking again; but I need the Rapid Results Plan - Purple Plan but the one that is in "meal" form; there was the starches, proteins etc but they were in meal form for you. I have the meal plan after that but not the Purple Plan does anyone know what the breakdown was for each meal?
