I never get to start a thread, so it was weird to come to work this morning and find myself all alone! I know, it's Monday, but at least we can complain together...

I had a nice, relaxing weekend. I met my sister and niece downtown to go shopping on Saturday. Then Sunday, I took an hour long run along the lake (the weather was beautiful - sunny and cool) and then came home and cleaned and watched basketball. I know it doesn't sound too exciting to some people, but since I usually go out a lot, it felt sooooo good to be alone and not drink at all! :)

How is everyone??? Please come out and talk to me!

Good morning!

Jen ~ Your weekend sounds relaxing. I know what you mean about having nice, calm weekends. It doesn't happen much. Thanks for posting the journal thread. It really helps me stay accountable when we post what we eat.

Good mornning to all the lurkers out there!!

I am sick today. My throat feels like it is closing on me, and my chest feels like it weighs 200 lbs. I got this yesterday morning, don't know what it is, but if it isn't better by the end of the day, I better get to the doctor. I hate being sick, especially when DH is working so much, can't lay down and relax with two kids at home!

Oh well, life goes on. Work is really slowing down. It is exam week for the students here, and usually by Wed., the campus is completely dead. It is nice though, for it to be quiet for a while. I get my vacation renewed July 1st (5 weeks) so I will be usually quite a bit this summer with building our house, and just some nice long weekend getaways.

I have WI on Wed. morning. I did pretty well this weekend. On Sat though I had a cheeseburger for lunch and pizza for supper, but on Sunday (when I really started to feel crummy) I only hate a little chicken stir fry and that is all I had all day. So, I think I more than evened out.

I have 4 lbs left to get to my goal, so I hope I have another loss this week. I did go shopping on Sunday morning in Madison (I had to pick my mom up from the airport), so I went to Famous Footwear. My DH has been wearing the same tennis shoes for 7 years, and I am tired of looking at them, so I bought him a new pair of adidas, they are cool. And, I bought the kids sandels for summer, and myself a new pair of Sketcher tennis shoes. Lots of money dropped there!!! :D

Well, better look like I am busy, I will check in later!

Hey Jen,

I'm around today, just busier at work than usual! I had a pretty good weekend too - stayed in Friday night and did exiciting things like filing away paperwork and organizing my drawers. I know what you mean though, sometimes nights like that can be good. I'm kind of dreading this week because it's just going to be so busy. I just have a lot of stupid errands to run - like bringing my car to the shop, pedicure. shoe repair, etc. I am going to Tampa Friday morning for my sister's graduation, so it's a short week for me on top of it. I have a feeling if I get to the gym twice I'll be lucky. I am considering brining workout clothes with me so I can maybe hit the hotel gym. How likely is that? We'll see. I'm going to be at the mercy of restaurants for all my meals, so I know my eating won't be great either.

Well, that's enough complaining for now  I'll be back at lunch.

Hey everyone-I am around too! I think it is a bank holiday in the UK and Canada-maybe that's why the board is so quiet.
Over the weekend I renewed my commitment to WW and have been OP for two days now.
I am also looking into doing a sprint triathlon-which is like a baby triathlon-training with a coworker of mine-now I just need to buy a bike!!!
otherwise, things are slow this AM at work but look to be much busier as the day goes on. DH and I spent the weekend tearing down wallpaper and painting the new house-we felt very domestic! It's hard to pick paint colors though-it never looks the same on the walls as it does on the sample thing! We went through two colors in the lliving room and I'm still not completely satisfied, but I ahve to live with it for now! Oh well.....
Now I have to look into getting the hardwood floors redone!:(
Lots of money-no one ever tells you when you buy a house that you should have an extra ten grand lying around for immediate home improvements!!!!
Bye for now!Lori

Well I think I've caught-up with the last several days worth of posts. Too much to respond to everything individually, but it seems as though everyone is doing well.

Wasn't around the end of last week because I had the opportunity to do my old job for a couple of days. I worked something like 30 hours in 2 days. Boy did I have fun!

Had a date Saturday night with this guy that I met a little over a week ago. Seems nice enough and interesting to talk to but absolutely no sparks. About half way through the evening, I was trying to figure out how to give him the "let's be friends" speech.

Need to get back to work as I have to leave early for a dental appt. I like my dentist but his hygenist was schooled in the art of dental torture.

Well, I was very good all weekend, even worked out, with the exception of my sister's birthday dessert - chocolate fondue.

I ate a ton of chocolate and strawberries, bannanas, pears, kiwi...YUM. I got the recipe from the "cooking couples temptation" book that b/f got me for V-day - basically, its about aphrodesiacs and gives history of certain food and sex/sexuality. It was delicious!! Everyone loved it. I ruined the rice, but oh well. Otherwise dinner was a success.

Its snowing and miserable here - over 2 feet of snow and it isnt' stopping yet!! I can't believe its May 6th!!

Yesterday b/f told me that he thinks I am getting toned (been working out) and how good I look...its so nice to hear, esp since my family hasnt' been hugely supportive. But I don't worry too much, since I don't live at home and I limit the visits.

Jess - glad you had a great weekend! How old is your neice? Mine is 3. SHe is great but lately been very bratty. She told me I am fat on the weekend before last. She called me "pudgy" and very rudely pinched the fat on my arm. I was right pissed off and I told her that it was unfortunate for her since she is an exact replica of me.....SIGH kids....

tonya - sorry to hear you are sickly! 4 lbs to goal!! Woo hoo - I have like 40....I am so happy for you!!

Lexy - have fun in Tampa - is that far for you? Do you like to swim? Maybe check out the hotel pool - I love to swim....

Lori - no holiday here - its not til the 20th (victoria day) of May....think eveyrone in Alberta is snowed in!!! YOu sound very empowered now!! good for you!!

Winter - oooo, the "lets be friends". Yikes. I don't envy you. How did that go?? Did he call again?

Well, I better get some work done - I wanna leave early since its storming something fierce out. Home...that is where I wanna be!!!

Have a good one girls!!

Wow - slow board today - no holiday in Canada (unfortunately) - although weirdest of weather here today - it actually snowed - in Vancouver - in may! And very cold - weird cause we were wearing shorts and sunblock last week. oh well.

Belle - my neice one told me I had a big butt (I'm sure she picked that up from her mother) - Iwent on about how that wasn't nice and how everybody is a different shape - she hasn't insulted me since

anyway - have a great night all

Well, I just dropped $109 at WalMart Supercenter! It's expensive eating healthy. I bought a lot of fruit and veggies!
I stayed OP until Saturday and Sunday. Sat night we went to a Cinco de Mayo party (basically an excuse for them to throw a party) with some of DH's coworkers....all who are about 6 years younger than us and their idea of a good time is to see how smashed they can get before they throw up. Go figure. Then on Sunday, we had a corvette club function at a seafood bar. I had fresh fried catfish, fried shrimp, fried clams and then I dashed for the potty when I got home! :o So hopefully the points I blew yesterday won't show up at WI tomorrow night.
I hope everyone is doing well.
How is everyone's swimsuit challenge going? I've been taking the stairs more often. Mostly down but if I'm only going 4 flights then I'll take them up. :)
Well, I heard DH cussing at the tile he's putting down in the kitchen so I'd better get going.
I miss everyone!!!!!!!!!!!
