My real name was taken as well as most of my pet's names except Tommy the tortoise. Since I am somewhat of a tortoise in the weight loss and recovery from compulsive overeating it seemed appropriate

Back when i started here in 2004 and mostly did the journal, I was working to reinvent myself-to make a happy positive person out of a grumpy negative person so I chose merry (A merry heart is like a good medicine - something like that the Bible says) plus it rhymes with Terry, which is what my family calls me. My given name is Theresa, which I use at work (I finally decided it's a very pretty name and I wanted to get some use out of it)
This is very interesting. Thanks MissAng

I don't get over here too much, but I will jump in anyway!
When I was "obese", I always said "I'm not fat, I'm fluffy!" (I was in denial LOL!!!!) and I still say that sometimes since I'm now labeled as "overweight"...and I was born in 79......so my name is FluffyGirl79 :)

Worthy Lady is my own epiphany or realization that came to me at the end of 2007 after failed relationships and desiring different career goals. While I have always been heavy set (that is what we say in the South) I feel that people sometimes determine value by outward appearances. I found that obese folks are discriminated against. I use this name because I am truly deserving of every good thing that life offers. I want my physical appearance to match my spirit. That is how God wants us all to live!

Last year, my youngest sister started a weight loss strategy that not only included all the siblings, but cousins. I chose chunkymonkey (not only for the ice cream - I felt it described me well-lol)...after a few weeks, we stopped. When I got serious on my life change - I kept the name

Casandra...it's the name my daddy gave me...well, he named me Casandra Jo...but apparently, Casandra was the Greek "Unheeded Prophetess". It fits me pretty well, considering I've predicted a few life changing events for myself and others XD
Some of my other SN's are a bit more interesting. I'm also known as Sailoraquafina...my love for Sailor Moon and filtered water and soft drinks turned into my developing a "sailor Pepsi Gang" with a friend in Middle School...
Cassassin, I have a hearty love of ninjas and pirates alike, but this nickname was given to me by a friend in Canada..he's pretty crazy.
Seraphina: Seraphim and Cherubim...the heirarchy of angels. This was given to me by my "school sweetheart". I've kept it because he was killed when I was just starting my teenage years...It's all I had left from him.
Cassehkinkies and/or Cassehkins: Well...heh. My SO calls me Casseh, and uh...yah, one's cute, one's...yanno XD :p
Hey Ange, I wish mine was more inventive and spectacular, but alas, J is the last letter of my last name. I love reading how you all came by your handles. And my hat is off to momof4boys......what the heck were you thinking?!?!? Didn't you realize that they would grow up to become eating machines?!?!? LOL!! I would have loved to have four boys, but man, one was enough. He is now 35 and he had the best imagination, was never still, and shot up his senior year and well over six foot. He was only 4'9" his freshman year and didn't even weigh 100 lbs. He liked to ate us out of house and home, well him and his friends, when he growing so fast!!

My name is Margaret. Some people call me Maggie. I just shortened it a bit. If magi is already taken I add the number 2000 to it for no other reason than it's a round number and easy to remember.

I am a Bluegrass and Celtic mandolin player. Flatiron is a company that made mandolins until Gibson bought them out. I used to own several of them and so I like the name and just use it as a handle. :dizzy:

Mine is fairly easy too--was nicknamed turkey as a baby when my first word was tookie (aka cookie). Most family still call turk, my first daughter is a spittin image of me and so the name carried on to her. My next daughter started to look like her mom and big sis but has since changed to look like her tall skinny daddy :) so since I have 2 girls and 2 of the 3 are called turk or turkey I used the name 3turkeys.
RN BSN 2009
01-05-2009, 11:28 PM
RN = registered nurse
BSN = bachelors of science in nursing (degree)
(I made the distinction because not all RNs have BSNs but all BSNs are RNs, if that makes any sense!)
