<sipping water>

Now for catch up and I have to make this quick because I have to iron a pair of pants this morning...and make lunch...

Donna! OHMIGOSH! CONGRATS ON THAT 7 LBS. GONE FOREVER! THAT is wonderful! Bless you dear for helping to clean your sister's house! Wanna come and clean mine?

Pat...(((HUG)))...sweetie, you're going to find another place to live that will take your dogs...keep looking. Hang in there. You sound so tired.

Christine, don't worry we'll be here waiting for you when you return from your camping trips on the weekends--but think of all the fresh air! And you'll be away from home from chores and think of the relaxation! We'll be here--the doors will be wide open when you return!

Same for you Emmy--we'll be here for you too.

Sharon, did you have a HAPPY BIRTHDAY?

color=deeppink]Joyce[/color], oh good--you went back out shopping. Hmmm...KMart, huh? $6 for tee shirts? Perhaps I should go there this week.

Judy, start with baby steps--try getting all that water down. And journal everything that goes into your mouth--even if you go over points--it will make you more aware of what you're doing. So glad your family is together in one spot for a change. (((HUG)))

Okay...I'll be back later to tell y'all about yesterday--Mom really got a good computer!

And yes, I was OP yesterday--banked 5 points!

Good Morning PINKIES !

Here we go again. Why do I feel like I'm on a Merry Go Round in life....After a while I feel like I'm see (doing) the same things over and over again. Oh well.

Gail - So you got your Mother's computer set up ok. Did you decide NOT to check in here from her computer? LOL I know you'll all be waiting on me after each weekend, I just feel bad that I won't be here during the weekend. I love the camping though, we had a great time this weekend. Haven't had one weekend yet that we've been there and not had to come home early or in between for something yet but soon I hope.

Judy - I see Gail is encouraging you to journal so you know where you are. I have to admit that I've been "air" counting. I can do ok like that but I really need to write down. How about if I get my paper and pen out today too?

To all the PINKIES , I'll be back later, I need to see what's left on my desk since I was off Friday afternoon.

Good Morning everyone

I had an OP day yesterday - and an OP weekend. Had fun shopping and buying smaller size stuff.

Another fire. This one is real close to where we used to live. Very close. There are about 1700 homes in the area. The fire has burned about 400 acres so far. My dh and I were always worried about fire when we lived up there. I loved it up there but I hated the commute, 45 min if the road conditions were dry.

Gail - Did you have fun setting up that computer? They make is fairly easy anymore. And the t-shirts I bought were the nicer styles that I can wear to work. :D

Christine - merry-go-round - very good description. That's how I felt when I got up this morning. Back to the old grind. I guess tho I am thankful I have a job I can live with. DIL wants to get a new job but there are so many people for so few jobs right now.

emmy - Did you have a good camping trip?

Pat - Good morning -

Well, I guess I'd better get to work

Good Morning!

Joyce, WOW 55#'s. That is so great. You are just doing wonderfully.

Donna, Congratulations on such a terrific loss.

Christine, I am always feeling like I am on a Merry Go Round. You have been doing well. I do find I need to paper journal. I get into trouble if I don't.

Gail, my birthday was very nice. The day was gorgeous. I am not at work today and Bill and I were just sitting outside having a hot drink and reading. It is not quite 7:30 and it is comfortable out there. Also peaceful (except for the rooster next door :) ).

Pat, hand in there. I haven't read yesterday's thread, but it sounds like you had some disapointment in the apt. search. I am glad you are not just dumping your pets like some would.

Judy, Gail is giving you good advice. Be kind to yourself and start slowly.

Hi Emmy, don't work to hard. I think you asked sometime ago what I do. I do payroll for a school district. There are two of us and we pay up to 1000 employees. Gets a bit hairy at times. Right now we are working retros for almost everyone.

Joyce, my son and dil are here this weekend. I told him you said there was another fire and he was wondering where it is. Is it anywhere near them?

I need to fix breakfast. I will check in later. I think we are going out to lunch and then we are taking our grandaughter and her friend to dance class.

Bye!!

Sharon - There was one fire near Monument but I think that was before the weekend. This new one is southwest of Evergreen. They are predicting that the conditions will worsen today as it warms up and the winds pick up. And a belated very Happy Birthday!!! And you get to stay home today - Enjoy it!!! You needed a day away from work.

Joyce, Mike says thanks for the information. They mentioned that conditions were bad in Colorado. No rain, too mild of a winter. California has seen it's share of bad fire seasons. I wish you all luck and stay safe.

<throwing myself into the nearest chair> Someone...quick...pour me a fat-free cappucino! Its not even noon yet and I'm worn out...

My weekend was very nice--spent time with my girls and granddaughter, saw my parents, hooked Mom's computer up and got her on-line (sorry I didn't check in--too much commotion), went out to dinner and had the best grilled salmon I've ever tasted! And stayed OP all the way! A very good weekend! But I'm tired.

Christine, we must be at the same fair! Stop the merry-go-round--I wanna get off!

Pat, you hang in there--things are going to come together for you--I just know it. :)

Joyce, I felt like there wasn't much to do really--you are right--it is soooo simple with the computers now days. The worst part was everyone looking over my shoulder--that bugs the heck outta me! <chuckle> I had to banis the men from the room at one point! I did! SMALLER SIZE?! Well THAT is something to celebrate! <high-five!> :D Fires?! Oh goodness...

Sharon!, you're at HOME today?! Good for you! :D

Hey Emmy! Come back when you can!

Gotta gooooo....

Well my merry go round hasn't stopped but I figured I'd at least get off the horse and sit on the stationary bench for a second.

Pat - Oh yea go ahead and rub it in...you've got Friday off. BRAT! LOL

Emmy - See you when you get back this evening. We'll keep some bottled water chilled for you.

Joyce - I know how you feel too. Glad I have the job, just wish I had a different one. :dizzy: You are such an inspiration to me....you've done great. When do you WI again?

Sharon - Oh gosh I can't believe I forgot...I left here on Friday thinking ok...."Now Sunday is Sharon's b-day, gotto send her an e-card". I'm so sorry. Please forgive me. Hope you had a great Birthday and I can see you had your son and DIL visiting so I'm sure you did. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY SHARON!

Gail - It sounds like you had a great time too with the kids and at your moms. I bet the men sulked when you sent them out of the room. LOL I hate that too. Only Dan will wait till I'm at the other end of the house, ask me a computer question and expect me to know exactly what he's saying. <shaking my head>

Judy - I know you're still busy. But we're thinking about you.

Donna -

Ok, how are we doing on the Month of May OP challenge. I did great on Saturday, really I did. I was so pleased with myself. Then Sunday happened. Not that I went over by much. I figured I went over by a few chips and a spoonful of dip. <sigh> But you know what I did do right.....I decided that I ate really light breakfast and no lunch but that I would be able to eat what they were serving. Well they had hamburgers and the box was sitting on the counter...so I flilpped it over and looked at the nutritional information....300 cal. and 23 grams of fat.... I figured that was like 9 points per hamburger. NO Way. I had a hot dog for 5 points and the bun was 2 and still come under what the hamburger would have costed me. Then... remember that saying about how on special occasions to not worry about those things that are readily available anytime.....well this item is NOT readily available to me...an ice cream cake. Ok so it's readily available but it's nothing that I'd buy. I did NOT have any. I was already stressed over the chips and dip I ate and decided that I didn't need to sabotage myself any furthers.

So ladies. I'm down one day on the challenge but I'm still doing things right! BTW, I'm OP today and plan on staying that way.

Christine, taking everything into consideration, I think you had a great weekend foodwise. And you turned down cake too? Look how far you've come! :D Start guzzlin' the water--I swear the water is magical. ;) You had a food victory!

Let me tell y'all about MY trip down to Va. Beach...Wayne HAD to stop at Hardee's for one of the egg sausage biscuits! Do y'all know how many points those are? A half a day's worth of points! Thank heaven I had eaten my breakfast before leaving home. Anyway...THAT was my victory! I didn't have a single bite of his. :D

I will post later, got too much going on... drinking water, drinking water... HELP....

Gail - Thanks. It's really all in how you look at things. While I've chosen NOT to validate my going over in points, I've also realized that I need to see the good choices I made yesterday too. I'm on my 3rd bottle of water for the day. I'll have that done and I have one more for the ride home. That'll be 83.6 oz. once I get that all done.

Pat - What is it about today, I'm up to my ears in work over here too. No time to play much.

Ok, back to the grindstone.

I have been too busy to eat, so I should be OP. I don't have to work, so will be going home to veggie out, no computer till later.

Hi!

We just dropped our son and dil at the local airport. We had lunch at Red Lobster and then sent them on their way. It was a great visit. They are good kids.

By the way, I had salmon and salad and mashed potatoes for lunch. Probably should have skipped the potatoes but it was good. I can't say I have been on program but I knew I would be on it again real soon.

Gail, great attitude! I am going to be drinking water like crazy the rest of the week.

This afternoon we are taking our grandaughter and her friend to dance class. There folks will be home from their short cruise this evening and then everything back to normal. Our son and dil want us to go on an Alaskan Cruise in October. We will see. They seem pretty determined. Would be a heck of a way to celebrate our 36th anniversary.

GailR

Christine and Pat, I have been swamped with work today also. I just got my vacation time approved for this summer! :D I cannot wait for June to begin!

Sharon, sounds like you had an OP lunch! YOU HAVE GOT TO GO ON THAT ALASKAN CRUISE IN OCTOBER! I have heard wonderful things about those Alaskan cruises. You'll get to see polar bears! :D Think of those Coca-Cola bears! :D Drink that water! I really think its a magic potion! Oh yeah...gotta go on that cruise!

Sharon
05-06-2002, 04:45 PM
I asked Bill what the reasons would be for not going. Money (that's what credit cards are for), PJ (big problem but my dil assures me he is really JUST a dog), and our WEIGHT. We keep moaning about life passing us by and not doing anything fun. WELL!!!! We will see if they get this party together. All family will be invited to go. Could be one heck of a party. :dizzy:

Sharon - I ditto that - go on that cruise. That is one of my retirement ambitions - to go on a cruise. Dh saw an ad for a cruise in Hawaii. I couldn't believe it when he said we should do that!! You gotta go. You probably even get discounts thru your dil.

Sounds like everyone is busy. Me too. And bored too. Trying to learn how to to use MS Powerpoint. Yuck - it really does not do what I want.

Christine - My ww leader has been stressing not to dwell on negatives. Just to keep reminding ourselves of what we are doing right. She even has us writing in our weigh in book what was one right thing we did for the week.

gotta go...............

Question - Does anyone know how many peanut M&M's for 1 point? I had a few today and I counted it as 1. One of admin people has a couple of bowls of candy on her desk. They don't usually call to me - but I felt like having a little chocolate today.

I have to figure out what I want for dinner. I got too busy at work to think about it. Usually I think about it during the day and write something down.

Hope you all have had a good day

Hi everyone!

Well, I was supposed to go to school today...it was so nice, my neice and I skipped and headed up to Salem, MA for the day. Did a lot of walking (Hey, TWO days in a row!), and even had a reading done. (I'm supposed to be in a real good period - :D . But, it was such a nice day, and the kids were in school...... I'll make up the work on Wednesday.

Joyce - I learned how to do powerpoint last year...I could make the slides, but I couldn't save them on my discs. (My instructor said the presentations were too big.) I use it for other classes but since they get to be too big, I had to print them out and use them as handouts. What kind of problems are you having? Maybe I can help...

Gail - Welcome home! Isn't it nice that just because you spend a bit of time on the computer, the family thinks you're the expert? I've set up two systems and instructed two others how to use various programs and what their computer can do...I don't really know that much about them... My neice likes to stop at McD's, D.Donuts, B.King, in the morning before school...somedays it's harder than others. This morning I DID say 'No thank you' to having anything at D.Donuts.

:smug:

Have a good evening everyone!

Donna

Well I'm agreeing with Joyce. Sharon, you have to go on that cruise! You only live once! Go for it! And take LOTS of pictures! :D Tell Bill that Gail wants a photograph (not a postcard) of a polar bear! ;) :D

Donna, well let me tell you something...<making myself comfortable>...you would have looooved being with me this evening when my mother calls me on her phone and I have to walk her through step by step to reply to an email message to...me. Thankfully she's on AOL too...so I logged on and I got to where she's at and walked her through. I would say, "Mom....look to the right...do you see a square with a piece of paper and pencil on it? Click it." She would say back, "I don't see it, I don't that!" I replied, "Yes, you do...look to the right to the top of the box." Then I would hear..."oooooh THERE it is!" :D Gotta love her! Bless her heart! .....its tough saying no to something good at the fast food places--being able to SAY NO is a victory. I have visions every now and then of actually tackling Wayne for one of those Hardee's sausage and egg biscuits!

Later...

Joyce - M & M (peanut), 1 fun size pack 2 pts. I hope this can help you.

Gail - I guess you had a busy day too, it most be because it's Monday. Was told today, that they are taking me out Thursday for Secertary's Week, my choice...mmmm... have no idea where I want to go...

Christine-Forgot to say before, I am glad the t-shirts fit, you will be getting more. I have way too much clothes... :o

Donna-Glad you enjoyed you day and it was beautiful here in PA too.

Sharon-Go for the cruise, that is my dream to go on one, I guess I better find one that would like to do that too.. one day...

Judy-HOpe all is going well with your dd and you. DD are trying aren't they... :s:

I said "NO" to pizza... I haven't had pizza in months, Grumpy ordered pizza to be delivered, since he didn't feel good and didn't go to work today... he has been doing this alot... not sure why...I had Veggie Soup, which I made and it was good... didn't have all the spices, but it was tastey to me... mmmm.. yes I can do this

Emmy-Water is in the fridge chilling for you...

Sharon
05-06-2002, 09:47 PM
Gail, thank you but I don't think I want to get that close to a polar bear, unless it is behind bars. :dizzy:

I probably won't be around much tomorrow if at all. I have an all day meeting at the county offices building in a different town. It starts at 9:30. I can just hardly wait. :( At least I won't be eating a lot.

I hope all of you have a great day tomorrow.

I did it! I finally caught up in my typing class. I was behind four lessons - I just finished them. Now I need to memorize my scene for acting and figure out how to get in touch with my partner to let him know I was thinking of how to block the scene.(It's out final - we have to perform a scene from a play, "The Dining Room".)

flicka - I did enjoy my day, but I forgot to mention what happened...we got lost on the way there. Passed the exit early and almost drove into Boston. (We were thinking of goin' there instead). Turned around passed the Stoneham Zoo (We almost went there instead) and got on the right exit...weren't sure of which exit to take...found the right one but missed a turn here or there...spent an hour in Salem. Then the drive home...took the wrong turn (again)..ended up going towards Rockport and NH/Maine. turned around (Keep in mind we have to be home in time to get her kids from daycare and mine off the bus.) headed towards home...there was a minor accident and road work slowing up traffic...herds of semi-trucks were roaming the highways. :dizzy:

We made it home just in time...

G'nite
