GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!
Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, I think it says a lot:
Extraordinary achievements come from the consistent application of very ordinary and available qualities. Success is within the reach of anyone who can find sufficient desire to succeed. The fundamental tools of success and achievement are not locked away in secret, or hidden in some unattainable place. Those tools are readily available to all who wish to use them.
What does it take to be disciplined and focused, persistent and committed to making whatever effort may be required? It takes nothing more than a strong, compelling and meaningful reason. When the reason is there, when the desire is strong, the qualities necessary for achievement will be ready for work. You are just as capable and deserving of success as anyone who has ever lived.
So make use of the powerful tools which you've been given. Tap into the ordinary qualities of discipline, of commitment, of sincerity, humility, integrity and effort. They are yours to use, yours with which to build, to achieve, to excel, and to fulfill the special purpose with which you've been blessed.

Clean slate, new week.... Gonna start over. Last week wasn't BAD, mind you, just kind of fell apart at the end.
My daughter's bridal shower was yesterday. Since it was Cinco de Mayo, the theme was Mexican. There were taquitos, which are just flautas, and hot wings, as well as tortilla chips and salsa and cheese dip, and cake. I concentrated on the strawberries, but succumbed to a small piece of cake, and a few taquitas. Had a few wings too. Then when I got home, since the day was blown already, I decided to indulge in Moose Trax ice cream. I don't think I will step on the metal monster until Wednesday! (I am just saying that...I KNOW I will, probably the next time I walk in the bathroom!)
Saturday, I did a wedding cake and groom's cake. The groom's cake was a 3-d pig dressed like a policeman with a donut in his hand. The groom loved it, so I was happy. That is, until I tried to download the digital pictures off my camera onto the computer. For some reason, they are mad at each other, and won't connect properly. My son, the computer help desk guy, is supposed to come over and look at it today. It will cost me though...he wants to borrow the camera! :) If I ever get the camera working properly, I will post the picture of the groom's cake.
I got up at 5 this morning....an hour early...since my arthritis in my knees was bothering me so much I could not sleep. That happens when I get cold at night. I had all my morning chores done before the time I usually get up. After I get everyone out the door, I am going back to bed!
Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning to all...like Monet said, it is a new week! I had blown dinner on Friday night at our friends house and the scale showed 3 lbs up on Saturday morning...bummer! Saturday night dinner at some other friends was SB friendly. We had salad, BBQ'd steaks, fried mushrooms and onions, broccoli, carrots and cake & ice cream for dessert which I passed on. All in all, a delicious and legal dinner. I am down 2 of the pounds today and hopefully the next one will follow suit tomorrow. I know I didn't drink my water like I should over the weekend, so that is also a factor.
Sheann- I am so sorry to hear about the events Jason has been going through since your last report. The stress level in your home must indeed be high. Taking care of little kids on top of it all doesn't help either and I also wonder if anyone could help out on that front. Don't you worry about having negative posts, we want to know so we can pray for your family..that is not negative, it is sharing with friends who care. Lots of us are sending prayers up and will keep doing so.
BOB- I can't remember if I already posted my congratulations to you or not so I will say it again...Congratulations on being an Auntie to a brand new bouncing baby boy!
I am starving this morning and want to inhale some serious food...weird. I was even tempted to have an Atkins week...I guess it is because of still having that extra weight from my Friday Night Faux Pas. See Debelli..I guess that is when I think about Atkins again. I won't though because I already had a 1/2 starchy carb at breakfast and that right there killed the chance for Atkins today!
Okay..I will stop babbling. :o

Well heres ole zippy bananabuns checking in. I'm up at the crack of dawn. We had rain all night.. I woke up every hour I think. AND on top of every thing else had my first night sweats!! Yuck. I really don't want to repeat that..... DH and I took a couple of steaks and some stuff to a campground yesterday and barbequed. It was so fun. We set up our relaxing lounge chairs and he cooked. I had the best baked sweet potato I think I've ever had. I'd sliced fresh mushrooms in foil and they turned out good to. We love to do that. And are so lucky we live in an area where theres beautiful campgrounds all around us and its free. I was able to take a good walk around the grounds on a path that went all around the campground so got my walk in to. I bid and won a pedometer off e-bay yesterday. I'll be glad to get that and see how much I'm walking when I'm out. Well today is a new week. Ready to start...
Monet-The shower sounded wonderful. And oh how I love mexican food... The cake for the groom sounded wonderful. I would love to see it. My niece is Chief of Police in the next town. Sorry about your knees. Probably doing to much huh!!!
Debili-Love your message... You your self are great motivation.
Guess I'm really early. Have to go out of town this morning so wanted to get on and not get behind. Have a wonderful day everyone... Till later........ Zippy banana buns signing off.

Oh my--well the recovery has begun! Derby Day was a rousing success--the mint juleps were mighty tasty this year and I had the number 1 and 2 horses in the race! I had a house full and the party went from about 4 in the afternoon until a little before midnight. In addition to the mint juleps, someone brought jello shooters, and then there were the harbor lights in the evening. I tell you it was nothing but sugar and alcohol all day long! I bought a horse piniata (SP?) that we nicknamed "Paco" (OK it was really a donkey, but it was the closest thing they had to a horse) and who became the star of the party. I wore my rose tiara as my hat--pictures may be posted on the internet this week--if they are I'll provide you the link, providing they aren't too embarrassing! Poor Belle hid under the bed all day. She isn't used to so many people in the house.
Given all the cleaning and everything I do to get ready--it made for quite a long day. And of course most of yesterday was spent cleaning again--but very slowly this time! I didn't feel too bad, just tired. I slept until noon, watched the race and then scrubbed the house down. It looks pretty good now. I'm not getting on the scale again until at least wednesday--maybe not until next Wednesday! I've gotten most of the bad food out of the house now--except for the cheesecake--which I am going to take to some friends this afternoon! I will go grocery shopping this afternoon to restock the house with good food and be back on track! Knowing that Saturday was a free day--I was bad but I don't have the feeling of failure today because I planned for it and have also planned for getting back on track.
BOB--cogratulations on the sweet little nephew! Jay is very luck in that his auntie Narda is going to spoil him rotten! So have you gotten him the little orange and white football yet???????
Sheann--My goodness, it soulds like you still have your hands full--worrying about and trying to help your son in addition to trying to keep everyone happy. My hear goes out to you. I'm still praying they find out what is wrong so that they can figure out how to STOP the siezures!
Monet--You've been busy this morning! I finally had my knee surgery last summer because it got to where I couldn't sleep because of the pain in my knees. You have my heartfelt sympathy on that one!
Toni--nightsweats bad--steaks good! It sounds like you had a good time at the campground!
Deb--good motivational post--as usual!
Jack-K--it sounds like you had a good time--I'm going to get there one of these days--but I'd have to miss my party to come and I'd hate to do that!
Ok got to go to work now. Have a great week everyone!

Aaahhhh......a new week. Mondays always come so fast. This weekend was really beautiful weather wise! I went to Kings Island w/ my neighbor on Saturday and then went out to dinner and a movie w/ my DH. We ate Italian..it was GREAT!!! No popcorn at the movies either! We saw the Panic Room......which was pretty good. We had a nice time w/o the kids....
So at Jungle Jims, I bought what I think everyone is talking about as far as pretzles. They are organic oat bran...right? Is there another type? I also got the SF pb filled ones. I should have looked for sweet pot. chips...but forgot.
Is there anyohter pre-made snack stuff that I can have...not like nuts, but like chips and stuff like that.
I did.....get this.....5.2 miles on my bike last night! That is really good for me! I was about to die doing 3...last night I was going for 3.5........one thing led to another and I pulled out 5.2!
So I have a new rutine.....bike and sit-ups on Sun., Tues., and Thrs. Arms and 2 other leg machines on Mon., Wed., and Fri. Leaving Saturday off. To those who workout, how does this sound?
Gracious.....
Don't worry about those 3 pounds..or now 1. When they come on that easy, they come off just as easy! It is hard when there is so many tempting foods to eat! WIW will be kind if you get back on the right path;)
Toni...thank you. I am glad to have made it to my goal. My first goal was 130...but changed my goal when I was losing pretty easy. So I set myself up for 125. I just need to stay here! BTW....I have no job....that may be Beth you are thinking of. I know it is hard to keep track!!!;)
Nance....
Yes....Deb is picking on me! I am almost 5'7" and am weighing about 122-123. I am so flabby though. So 125 or so on me is good, where as someone who is more muscular, they would be too small. After 5 kids, I am flabby. I have not exercised in YEARS!!! Even if I am running after 5, it is not muscle producing.
Sheann...
My prayers are with you and your whole family! I just can't believe that they do not know what is wrong! I am so very sad for you and I really do pray that the doctors and all of our technology will be able to help you. I can only imagine what it must be like for you right now. How is your relationship w/ his wife? It is times like this that it can bring out the worst in us. Good job on keeping your weight down....not that that is nearly as important.
Lowco....
I am w/ everyone else here......$33!!! My goodness! I guess that is the price of living in paradise....right:cool:
Yellow...thank you as well on congratsing me....Like I have said, if I can just stay here!
Auntie BOB!!!
Congrats on your new nephew!!!! I bet you will eat him up. I just love how newborns smell and fell! Never miss an oppertunity to spoil him. Little "jay" is very lucky! I hope mom is doing well. Can't wait to see the not so wee one!:)
Jack-k...
It is over...and you came out ahead! Good for you. I know what the weather was like here...hope it was good there!
Monet....
What a great idea for a bridal shower! When is the big day? I bet you are excited....but are you sad at all? How old is your daughter?
To everyone else....HI!!!!

Good Monday Morning Everyone:wave:
Woke up tired along with my feet hurting. They started to hurt yesterday, after I walked, sorta feels like an achey feeling, like when you use to have growing pains. Between the two, I didn't go walk today, though I was dressed and ready to go. For me not going out on Monday to exercise is a big deal for me, so you know I'm feeling funky!
Like GRACIOUS, I woke up ravenous as well-and not walking doesn't help this either. But now, I'm feeling a bit barfy, so I'm hoping this will pass and I'll be able to hold out eating anything until lunch. I'm not hungry at all, just something compeling me to eat. TOM isn't due for another week. Will have to look at past entries in my daily diary on WC to see if this is how I've felt before. Scale is also up a pound from yesterday - seems I just can't win today!
ROSE, I highly doubt CABOT has discontinued their 50% cheese and I hope they aren't going to stop making their 75%! They have been voted the #1 Cheese in the US once again-so I'm sure there's some mistake there. You can always call their 800 number and ask:)
MONET, sounds like you had a good time at the shower-hope your DD got a lot of the things she was hoping for. Can't wait til you post those pics of the cake you made.
GRACIOUS, like you, I am starving today. Had a lapse last night and wanted to eat and eat and eat-stayed legal, but too much legal stuff. Hope whatever "this" is it will wear off, and quick at that!
TONI, thanks for that little boost today, though today, I don't think I feel motivating enough for anything:rolleyes:
FILLISE, sounds like you had a wonderful time at your party!!! I hope you took some pictures YOU COULD POST!!!!!;)
KIMMY, I'd never pick on you!!!;) Just can't imagine someone of your height weighing what I weigh-and if you want to talk about flab, I'm the expert!!!! I bet no one else could honestly say when they stamp their foot their thighs keep wiggling 6 times after they've stopped! I'd love to go to JJ! At long as those pretzels are the SNYDER BRAND, you've got the right ones!!! Is that store big???
Okay, I'm going back to bed-hoping this funk will just leave the body while I lounge in bed. I know, this wasn't an exciting post from me-hope to be more energetic later:)
Will check back later.
Have a great week!

Happy Monday, everyone. *groan*
Things are off to an OK start for me. It’s that TOM, so my weight’s unchanged. *ugh* BUT I did manage to get my fiancé eating Whole Oat cereal (like cheerios but Whole Foods brand, and made from whole oats). I am taking things one step at a time with him. LOL!
I have planned for today breakfast of sourdough bread (2 small slices towards the end of the loaf). Snack will be an apple. Lunch is a peanut butter sandwich on WW bread. Afternoon snack will probably be a little bit of cheese. Dinner will be chicken cooked in Healthy Choice Cream of Mushroom soup, over Wheat Semolina pasta-thingys for DF, and plain for me, along with some steamed veggies. I’m still struggling with eating enough, and trying to balance carbs – I’ve spent so long eliminating them that it feels weird to work them back in!
Now I have to start working exercise into my weeks, too. That’s the biggest factor for me, but the hardest to make myself act upon. Any suggestions???
Thanks!

Hi everybody. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers for my mom. Keep 'em comin'. She meets with the oncologist today, so I'm anxious to hear how that goes. They're going to start her on liquids today to see if her stomach is working yet. Mine has been working overtime. I've given in big time to stress eating. Right now, I'm not going to worry too much about it, but I don't want things to get out of hand. I'm up a couple of pounds this morning, but TOM is here too. We'll see what things look like on WIW.
I'll try to check in again later.

Happy Monday Everyone!
Glad to be back in routine. Already pounding the water down:dizzy: . Trying to flush any "impurities" out of my system before WIW. It is raining here and more expected for the next 4 days. YUK. Oh well, we had great weather for the weekend and now I am sunburned from working out in the yard yesterday.
Monet, That cake sounds adorable. Hope you can get the computer to accept the pictures. Would love to see it. Wish you lived closer, I would hire you to do my DD's cake.
Gracious, Don't beat yourself up too much, that extra pound will come off soon. It's a new week, time to get back into routine which really helps alot.
Toni, sounds like your day at the campground was very nice. You are lucky to have one so close, especially with hiking trails. YHou get 2 for 1.
Fillise, Sounds like your part was great. Did you “pick” those horses or draw them out of a hat. If you picked them you must know a lot about horses. Good for you getting back on track today. By the way, what’s in those Harbor Lights?
Kimmy, Way to ride that bike. I’m impressed. Your weekend sounds fun. Glad you had a good time with DH. Your routine sounds fine, but after 6 weeks, you need to change it. Your muscles get used to what you are doing. Yes, the weather Sat & Sun was beautiful. Friday was a little cool until late afternoon. Now we have 4 days of rain coming our way. Unfortunately, you will probably get it soon.
Deb, Sorry your are having such a yucky morning. Nothing worse than achy feet. I have RA in mine and I wonder if my feet will ever feel right again. I see all kinds of cute shoes and it kills me to think I will never get to wear them. Hang in there, maybe it’s just a funky Monday. Loved your MM post. Funny thing, on the way to church yesterday I saw a sign on another church that said “Ordinary can become extraordinary with just a little “extra”. Great minds…. Hope your day improves.
Jenn, IMHO, just looking over your menu for today, you are eating 4 carbs (2 at breakfast and 2 at lunch) and if you eat pasta for dinner, that would be 5. You only get 3. Try to get some veggies in with your sandwich. Others may have different opinions.
Music, Still sending prayers for your mom. Hang in there.
Sheann, Hope you find something out about your DS soon. Prayers for him too.
Hope everyone has a great day.:)

Good Monday Morning everyone! I hope everyone is well. I am still getting in my exercise, I can't believe I have already been doing it almost 2 weeks! I have a confession to make. My scale went up a LOT from the last time I had weighed :(254.5 :::sigh:::: I really have got to get back in the swing of things! I was hoping that the exercise would boost me to eat a little better and I dont *think* I am doing that bad but I still don't lose. I am beyond frustrated. Maybe I need to post a sample menu from to see where I am going wrong. I do have a hard time getting in enough calories WITHOUT adding in so much fat and carbs :( Here is an example of what I eat on any given day. 2 cups of coffee with splenda and half & half. Eggbeaters with 2 % cheese ( about 1/'4 cup.1 slice sourdough bread and polaners fruit spread ( no butter ) . Morning snack : 5 triscuits ,1 can of sardines drained. Apple and orange or grapefruit. LUNCH:Huge salad with cucumbers, radishes, avocado, onion, cauliflower and broccoli. Some type of low sugar dressing about 1 tbs. Leftover protein ( either chicken or fish ). Afternoon snack : Only if I feel hungry. I cup FF yogurt plain with stevia and frozen blueberries. Dinner: Lean cut of meat,2 servings of vegetables. No carbs at dinner. I do not drink diet coke, mostly just water. Some days I drink green tea but I don't put anything in it. Am I eating enough??? I feel like I eat all day long! But I know calorie wise it may not be enough for my weight. I would love to hear everyone's ideas on this, thanks! Liz

Hi All: I have read to catch up, but cannot take the time to respond....but well wishes and good thoughts to Sheann and Music!!!
I am up a pound too - after a weekend spent in the blistering sun and heat this weekend. It was really difficult to stay outside walking in the heat, but I persevered and kept up - both Saturday and Sunday - we walked the parks - went to both Epcot and MGM.... French dinner for birthday was too wonderful for words - exquisite!!!!! Have a bit of a bug, so not very hungry yesterday or today... a lot of casualties at work out with stomach virus...
Just finished a small plain lunch of stone ground wheat bread, sliced turkey and mustard....with a pickle.... and don't know yet if it liked me....

Howdy all! Thought I would pop in before I work out. I love having the accountabilty from this support group. Makes me get my hinny in gear.:) Trying really hard to get back to working out four times a week and walking about 5 or 6. So far so good.
Deb ---I sure hope you start feeling better soon. I think sometimes when we get the munchies when we are sick it's because our bodies are needing something. As soon as you feel better I bet the muchies leave.
Gracious --Steak and shrooms...YUMMY! My mouth is watering just reading your post. I think as a special treat when I reach my next mini goal I'm gonna have a nice juicy rib eye.
Toni --What kind of pedometer did you get? I never thought to check on ebay. Might have to do that later. Any excuse to look around ebay at bit. :)
Fillise --Sounds like your party was a blast.
Kimmy --Hey you! *smile*:) At 5' 7" even flabby that's on the low end of the weight charts. You may find as you get more and more tone that you can even gain a little. With all the work you are doing you will start toning up in no time. You should be proud of all your hard work.
Jeena --It is so cool that your fiance' is eating this way with you. It's so much easier when you dont' have to do it alone. My family doesn't eat this way but they are slowly coming around. I made a mock stroganoff with WW pasta the other night....they loved it.
Music --Still praying for your family. (((hugzz)))
Jack-K --could you send some of that rain this way? We had a little sprinkle the other day but it wasn't enough to dampen the dust.
Tranquil ---WTG walking in this heat. Keep up the good work.
Well guess I need to get my lazy hinny in gear. :) See ya'll this evening. Have a super afternoon.

Hi Gang,
Seems like s slow day. Just making a quick post before I head home. May not be able to get back on. Raining like cats and dogs here. Probably won't get my walk in. Bummer.:(
Country, I guess you were not in the area where they had al lthe bad tornadoes? Just caught it briefly on the radio this a.m., I think they said Happy Texas? Is there such a place? Glad you weren't in it.
Tranquil, soiunds like you had a wonderful birthday. Hope that bug doesn't get you too hard.
Lizery, You are about where I started. I weight 257 when I started SB. I don't know what got a hold of me this time, (other than my health was starting to be affected and my DH was concerned or embarrassed) but I started and have not looked back since. I guess I finally made a choice on what I wanted. To eat or lose weight. Now that I am 64 pounds lighter I really like myself more and like what I am doing for myself. I can actually say I enjoy exercising and don't mind eating this way at all. Believe me it does get easier. So think about what you really want and then DO IT! We are here to help you anytime you need help. You can do it.
Deb, I haven't voted on the poll. This is a toughy. I need to check more than one answer. Originally, I would say the numbe ron the scale I had chosen. BUt now that I know I will get there, if I am between sizes, I may go on to the smaller one. Or If people tell me I am looking bad before then, I may have to reconsider. I really don't think I will ever be satisfied w/what I see in the mirror. So I really don't know how to vote.
Nance, WTG on staying OP while your company is here. Hang in there. It's worth it.
Have agreat nite

Just a quick post. I've been lurking but haven't had the time or energy to post to everyone. We're still having problems with Jordan and school. I'm really trying not to give in to stress eating but it's really hard. Then when I look at what Music Teach and others are going through with serious illnesses with their families, I feel even guiltier. I'm trying to put everything into perspective. Just wanted to let you guys know I'm still out here. Have a good one. Tomorrow's got to be better.

Well... my stepdad is continuing to improve, thank you for all the thoughts and prayers. We are hoping he comes home within 3 weeks!
The dog is resisting the confinement order..LOL... he doesn't like being crated for his entire day, and I don't blame him. But he doesn't understand BE CALM, and I don't want to lose him from the heartworms after treating him for it!
My eating leaves much to be desired. I've been eating too many legal carbs and fats, and nearly NO veggies!! SHAME ON ME!!! I have managed to up my water intake some... I was doing so well at first, then slacked off to almost NO water at all anymore. I need to get back up there! I'm going to stop taking anything but water with me to work... maybe that will help.
It's so hard for me because working 3rd shift is NOT a busy shift. Once I get all the jail paperwork done, I get MAYBE 25-30 calls a night. I can go up to 2 hours with NO contact with any human..LOL. It gets boring and I usually deal with that by snacking. I bring books, but those usually make me sleepy after a while, so I just munch on some legal pretzels, or biscotti, or whatever. I need to stop bringing those things with me, but with both of us changing jobs, we haven't caught up enough to go grocery shopping yet, and it's what I have here. I need to get to the groc. store and get some veggies/salad to take with me! Even if I let myself dip veggies in ranch dressing... it would be better than so many carbs all the time. I've resorted to sandwiches/cereal/snacks as a way of life, and I need to get OUT of that rut!!!
Does anyone have any suggestions for things that would be INEXPENSIVE for me to fix and carry to work? I need things that I could eat bits at a time, as I never know when a unit will call on the radio, or the jail will call down... and warm things would get cold quickly while waiting for me to get back to it. Plus, I really prefer things that I could 'graze' on all night, to keep me awake!
Any suggestions are welcome. I did open a bag of pretzels and COUNT them out into SNACK SIZE ziploc baggies. I will only take ONE baggie with me to work, that will stop me from eating the WHOLE bag like I did a few days ago!:o
Thanks in advance for any suggestions :) I have to go get a nap cause Midnight is approaching quickly! I wonder why it seems that when I get home at 9am, bo to bed and sleep till about 2... then from 2-Midnight seems to go faster than the Midnite-8am shift? LOL!!
See Y'all Later:wave:

Jack-k: I started SB! in September 2001 LOL. It is so sad! I *know* it works I just seem to have not hit it right yet. I amvery motivated and very seldom cheat on illegal foods, but I do eat too many carbs sometimes. Every once in a while I get a sweet craving that I can't get past and I give in. I don't know. I got down to 243,but now it is back up? Could muscle and retaining water make an 11 lb difference? I am sticking with it though. I have never felt better in my life!

Hello all you Busters of Sugar!!!!
Hope life is treating you so great. I have been so busy and have had no time to read or write on this board. Please forgive me. But I just have so much yard work to get done while the temps are not miserable. Each night I am out in that yard cleaning or cutting and pulling. Quite the workout. I promised DEB I'd get on from time to time and check in. So here goes.
Report about me: my eating has been pretty good. I need to do Fitday more religiously, but I am pretty pleased with the food intake. The exercise for me has been awesom. (Why can't I ever get both things going at one time???) I have been getting up at 5:20 or 5:30 and go immediately to the basement and get on that blasted treadmill. I have been doing at least 30 minutes with about 7 minutes of run/walking. I am sweaty when finished so that's my test of whether or not I've worked hard enough. I call it the "trickle factor" and wait until the sweat starts trickling, then I know I've had a good workout. I read something good in Shape magazine. It said that people over 40 should hold their stretches longer than people under 40. It said we "oldsters" should hold our stretches for 60 seconds. It has something to do with our elasticity. So I'm working my way up to a minute. Right now I'm at 45 seconds which is way more than I've every held before. Feels great!!!
Just a few quick greetings and I'm off to finish supper.
DEB---Thanks for the email. And thanks for that great motivation this morning. That was such a perfect thing to read on a Monday. I have to keep my REASON planted firmly in the forefront of my brain.
BOB---Did I read right??? A baby boy???? Please send Kathy my best wishes and congrats and hugs. How was your trip? Did you get any Skyline while in town? Can't wait to see you on one of your future visits. How did Mr. Skeeter do on his "vacation"?
KIMMYTHEKID---I read that you got to JJ's. Great!!!! How did you like it? Ain't it grand??? I'm sure they've added more since I've been there. Sorry I've been so uncommunicative and awol. I would still like to get together whenever you have some free time.
The work on our deck is scheduled to start the 20th, so I have plants to move before that time. I should have done that this weekend, because we are going to have a WEEK of rain. I may have to dodge the raindrops and move them tomorrow.
Take care you all. I miss reading all the exciting things happening. Know that you all are in my thoughts.

LIZERY---That picture of the cat was hilarious!!! Is that your cat or did you find that pic somewhere? I have to bring up the board at work tomorrow and show my boss because she's a catlover and will have a hoot over that face.
Thanks for the laugh!

Good evening all, my DH had a business meeting tonight so I'm all alone. Good time to post..... Beth-Hooray for your SD!!! I'm so happy gal.... Poor doggie I don't blame him either. How scarey! It sure helps me to not have soda's or anything else around to drink. It seems the more water I drink the better I lose....
Trishloo-Miss you posting. But sometimes life just takes many twists and turns. Its just good you pop in and let everyone know you're still kicking. Sorry you're still having problems with Jordan and school.
CountryMom-Thats awful about the tornados. We're having trouble with them here to. This seems to be the worst year in awhile. Shoot I forgot the name of it... Theres lots of them on there. And even ones you wear on your wrist. They even had one with an alarm on it in case someone tries to get ya while you're walking. LOL Fat chance!!! for me....
Jack-K- We had our storm earlier this afternoon about 1 or so. Had to get off my computer because of the lightening. It blew out my sisters phone a few days ago...
Nancemeister-Hope you're enjoying your company and its great you're staying OP.... congrads thats a hard one
Tranquil-I'll bet you lose that pound fast with all that walking etc. you did. Maybe its just water from being in the heat and sun...
lizery-I'm just now going to try stevia. I got the liquid and will try it in the morning on my oatmeal. Do you cook with it? Can you tell me anything about it? Your menu sounds allot like mine.
Music Teach-I hope the news is good at the oncologist today... I don't blame you for eating different when you're under so much stress.
Jenn in MN-Its strange how this program is catching on the eating. My DH is now asking for a smaller potato and eating oatmeal in the morning with me. Maybe just a little walking now...
Debilli- Your motivational was great.... Hope you have a better evening and things are right as rain tomorrow...
Kimmythekid-Sounds like you had a great week-end. Good for you no popcorn... I'd love to find some of those pretzels and try the sweet potato chips. Wow that was great on your bike.... 5.2 miles.
Fillise-I thought of you when someone was talking about the derby yesterday. I can't wait to see the pictures. It all sounds like something out of the movies.... I've never even tasted a mint julip. I'll bet your Rose tiara made a wonderful hat....
Guess I'll go now and fill the big ole water jug.. Have a great evening everyone.....

Hey Hey Hey!
What's up everyone? Not much to report today - just that there is only 18 MORE DAYS with the students at school! God - May 31st can't come fast enough! This class has been my absolute worst and I can't wait to say good-bye to those little boogers on May 31st!
Eating has been fabulous! This is Teacher Appreciation week and we had doughnuts in the lounge - passed on them! And we had M&Ms in our box - gave them away! So, I was proud of myself cause I love both of those!
Other than that - not much else happening. Went to the ENT today and talked about my surgery for June 4th. I'm having the polyp and nodule removed from my vocal cord and we decided today to have turbinate surgery at the same time. That means...I'm having the turbinates in my nasal passages reduced in size so that I can breathe better. I have very narrow nasal passages and when I had a nose reconstruction done when I was in high school it made the passages even smaller - thus - harder to breathe. So, since I've met my out of pocket expenses for the year (which is $2000) with my health insurance and my vocal cord surgery was going to be covered 100% I'm going to go ahead and have my nose done too at the same time - since it is covered 100%! Then - maybe I can actually breathe through my nose!! So, we'll see how it all goes! It will be so nice not to breathe out of my mouth all day long!
Well, other than that - all is well - I go to the urologist Thursday morning for my cystoscope - wish me luck!
Talk to you all later!

I moved my cable and software to my husband's computer, and it works fine. (scratching head) Not sure why my computer and the camera are not speaking...will try and figure it out later. In the meantime, here is a picture of the groom's cake.

COUNTRY: Glad you were not hit by those tornadoes! We had one here about five years ago, and it took months to recover! Hope you had a good workout!
TRANQUIL: Glad your birthday was good! Walking in those Disney parks in the heat can be exhausting! I hope you drank plenty of water! Don't worry about that pound, it will be gone before you know it!
BETH: I hope you can get used to the long boring
time with no calls! I would try carrying veggies.
Make a bunch of cut celery, carrots, broccoli, cauli-
flower, and take a small container of the dip. You can
graze on veggies all night and not do too much
damage! I get those huge bags of baby carrots,
and they are ready to eat right out of the bag!
Maybe make some beef jerky for protein? If you
want a recipe, let me know! So glad to hear your
SD is getting better!
Lizery: If you are eating right, and what you
posted sounds reasonable, and not losing, you really
should get your thyroid checked. Inexplicable
weight gain can be from an underactive thyroid.
I have this problem. It makes losing weight more
difficult, but if you know about it, and get
some replacement hormones, it will help!
FRUIT: My husband has had that turbinate surgery done
twice. The second time was last October, and
boy was it an improvement over the first one
about 10 years ago! Hope it helps you breathe
better! Great idea to get it all over with at
once!
lizery

Thanks Monet. I have had my thyroid checked and it is within normal range. I don't think I have any other symptoms either.
That cat picture was just one I found on the internet and I found it totally hilarious!!!!!!! LOL.
My clothes are falling off of me! I don't know I guess I am just weird ~: )

05-06-2002, 09:25 PM
Yes I use the stevia for cooking mostly. Taste very weird in coffee , I do NOT suggest that! LOL. But in anything that calls for sugar like sweet potato casserole or cranberry sauce or yogurt,it really taste wonderful and sweet!

lizery- thank you... I wonder how it will taste in oatmeal...LOL. and my sister was going to use it in her coffee. Think I'll wait and let her try it first..
Monet- i love the cake its adorable. What a great job you did.... I've got to remember that....
Fruit-Good luck at the urologist. Sounds like you're going to have allot of body work... Ouch.... You sure did great with the eating...

Evening All:wave:
Well, I didn't do a darn picking thing today. After my post I made a few follow up phone calls for parents who will be proctoring exams at the school and then hit the bed and slept for a few hours. Even after nap, I still felt and feel drained and barfy-I feel like I could climb right back into bed for the night right now! Hate days like this!
JENN, just SD bread for breakfast?:nono: You should try to have some type of protein with that to help sustain you through the day, something like eggs or cottage cheese possibly. Make sure you watch those strachy carbs, bread for breakfast, for lunch and the pasta for dinner-just watch portions;) As for exercise-it was a very big and hard step for me to do, but I have to say, once you start and keep doing it daily it just becomes habit and I feel icky when I don't go out (like today). I can tell you, just walking at a good clip, makes you get a natural high, releasing those feel-good endorphins. It also helps curb my appetite, among other good factors, like IT HELPS THE SCALE GO DOWN!!!!:D
MUSIC, please let us know what the Dr. says about your DM.
JACKK-loved the saying you saw on the church-and it's so true! I'm hoping this funky feeling leaves this old and tired body during the night and I wake up feeling energized, refreshed and 10 years younger - okay, I know I'm pushing the envelope!!!!
LIZERY, I highly doubt you are eating enough. If you'd only give yourself the opportunity and do a real food journal for at least one day, it would give you your answer without any doubt. I'll help you figure it out if you need, but that's up to you to let me know.
TRANQUIL, I hear you all had to deal with a heatwave in Orlando over the weekend-can't imagine how you could stand the heat up there!
MONET, loved the cake!!!! What a great job you did!!!
BOB, baby is absolutely ADORABLE!!!
Okay gals, it's almost 11pm here. I started this post long ago, way before I had a major lapse in poor food judgement this evening. Trust me, you DON'T want to know what took place in this house, it wasn't a pretty sight:eek: I am NOT stepping on that scale tomorrow, no way, no how-not Wed. either. I know I'm not going to see a low and I sure don't want to see what it really says. I vow, come Wednesday to be back on track, actually tomorrow, but ELI is off and I'm not going to get in my walk once again tomorrow morning since we have to leave the house early to run some errands before his 10am eye Dr. appt. and then up to Broward for lunch, so I'm sticking to Wed. to be back OP 100% and THEN I'll worry about the scale - oh where or where did my better judgement go, oh where oh where could it be??????:?:
Will have to catch up with the rest of the posts tomorrow night before chat.
Nite!!

Had a great weekend..did a lot of walking, sitting on the deck, etc. Hope all of you had a good one too! Went to get my body fat tested again (this time looking for a number slightly higher than 17% since that is no way my body fat!! ) Turns out I'm in between 27 and 24% body fat. Not as bad as I suspected. I did the calculations and I was about 29% when I started and I only need to lose 6 more pounds to be at my ideal weight: 146. I guessed 145, not a bad guess huh?
check out this link..It gave me a reading of 25% which seems to be fairly accurate--between the range given to me at the gym. http://www.healthcentral.com/cooltools/ct_fitness/healthyweight1.cfm#about
Deb, let me know what you think.
Monet- What a great idea for a bridal shower! I sure am jealous.. And that groomscake, what a hoot! Hope your knees feel better. Take it easy.
Gracious--I think you'll make up for that pound by wednesday.. just drink a lot of water and move around as much as you can :) As for carbs, as Deb said..limit them to the morning and it's supposed to help!
Toni- Wow...sounds like you had a great time. Sometimes I really miss the country. Especially when I get off the subway every morning and have to cross times square. The cement, the soot and the noise drive me nuts! Be glad you have such a nice retreat.
Fillise- Impressed with your ability to pah-tay! I've decided that it would be a good idea for us to meet at some point... ;) Don't worry about that scale..I think all of us have wanted to skip a week before. I have TOM coming for a visit and I don't think WIW will be kind to me either. hang in there!
Kimmy- You guys really keep yourselves busy, theme parks, aquariums. I wish my parents were that exciting when I was growing up :) How was the evening with the hubby..pleasant or tolerable? I hope not the latter. Congrats with the biking. It's all about building up endurance. Your routine looks good..but what do i know? ;)
Deb- Don't you just hate aching feet? Especially growing pains..ugh! Glad I don't have to deal with that anymore. Hope you feel better. In the meantime, this is a good time to work your arms and do some leg lifts :)
Jenn-I'd start off just moving more in general--parking the car far away from the store you're going to, using the stairs, etc. Then I'd incorporate walking and some light weight lifting. If you join a gym, you will get a consultation with a personal trainer. If not, walking and videos will do the trick!!
Music teach- Still thinking of you. With your stomach in knots, refined sugars and enriched products won't help at all.. I hope you are able to get a healthy meal in once and a while. I wish I was there to cook you one :<:
Jack-K --Hitting the water too. It's so hard to keep up on the weekends.
Tranquil- How is Epcot these days? I heard they took out all the old rides. Too bad, they were my favorite since there were never any lines. Plus they were super campy! Miss it. Ate in France as well. My brother took me one year..was so yummy!!
Beth-- I give you a lot of credit. I am a sleep hound so I could never do what you do. As far as snacking..I'd bring things like celery and cut up apples. I guess you could use a bit of SF peanut butter with that to fill you up? Drinking water really helps. Squeeze in a little lemon juice and you'll be so busy running to the bathroom all night that you won't have time to eat
Quilter- Impressed with your ability to get out of bed so early! Keep up the treadmill and the trickle effect ;) I go by the same thing!
That's it for me today. Quite busy this week since I'm looking for a new job. Preparing for my journey down south. Hope I can lose a few more before then. I have one and a half weeks. I think I'll go down quite a bit after TOM. That's when I lost most the weight last month.

Evening Folks!
Just said goodbye to the last of the company and feel pooped!
It was great to see everyone, especially my uncle..we were looking at our family heritage book and old photos. Always kind of seems like such a let down when so many people are down, and then all the sudden their all gone!
LizeryTalk to Debs about having her help figure out what the right caloric intake would be for you. Are you exercising at all?
Trish Hang in there!!! I always seem to have other situations present themselves to me when I think I'm personally going through tough times....just makes you remember to be thankful for what you do have, and for what IS going right in your life.
Beth How about celery sticks with peanut butter, or sliced apples with p-nut butter, or chicken salad and triscuits, Yogurt, cottage cheese....I'll think of some more things after I get some sleep!
Quilter Hey stranger! Glad to see you post. Sounds like you've got alot going on around the casa. You must be watching too much Home and Garden Network television and getting inspired! How are you doing with staying OP?
Fruit Good for you for getting rid of those treats (or evils should I say!) Saying no seems to be getting easier and easier for me. You sound like surgery central. When are you planning all of this?
Monet The cake is AWESOME!!!! You really have a talent! They must have loved it! Cracked up with the donut on the hand!
Neat to do something you love so much!
Frog WHERE ARE YOU???I've got the phone in my hand and am starting to dial 9-1-1!!!
Well...the Nancemesiter needs to get into bed. Been having trouble sleeping the last few nights. Too much going on upstairs...I need a calgon bath!

P r o m I s e Y o u r s e l f
To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble. -------------- from John Steen

UGH!!!!!
Well, if you can see from the time of this posting, I CAN'T FALL ASLEEP!!!! I've been lying in bed since I posted last, unable to fall asleep, which really doesn't surprise me one bit now that I think about it.
All the crap I ate is doing such a number on me at this time. We won't even go into the calories or fat grams from all I ate, but the dark chocolate covered coffee beans I ate masses of, I think the caffeine has hit home big time!! I am having not only unbearable thirst, but even night sweats. AND, if ELI was awake, I think he'd throw me out of the house because the noxious gasses that are emanating out of my rear end as well are putrid!:^: I can't believe I did this to myself, but boy-oh-boy, I'm paying for it dearly now!!! How could I do this to myself!:?: I didn't even enjoy what I scarfed down, not one bit-it was like another person ate this and I'm feeling the effects.
I know I've said it before, and hopefully THIS time I will listen to myself, I can't have this stuff around the house. I just seem not to have self control at all times and if I don't have this control, I can't have it in the house-it's like a piece of cheese dangling in front of a mouse. I don't like the way it makes me feel, in many ways. I wonder why this is happening to me now, as of late when almost 2 years I didn't have a care in the world and didn't have this problem. Any thoughts?
So, what do I do-sit in front of this computer all night long, lie in bed listening to ELI snore as I snicker quietly knowing the horrific smells he's inhaling while he's asleep? Guess I'll try to go back to bed, but the way I'm feeling, I should be outside jogging!!!!
Will let you know the outcome tomorrow-if I fail to appear sometime during tomorrow, you'll know that I fell asleep somewhere along the way, but I doubt that will happen.
Nite, I hope:^:

DOUBLE UGH!
Well, I sure didn't get a wink of sleep all night long and I'm starting to really feel the effects of it now as I get ready to take Michael to school! I hope this experience stays in the forefront of my mind because it surely gave me a good wake-up call!
I'm not sure how I'm going to survive the day today-I truly would love to come home and try to go to sleep, but I can't and this is going to suck, big time today! Think of me and think of "NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD" because that's probably what I'm going to be looking and feeling like today!!!
Will check in later!

BOB---Jay is beautiful. He looks so cute and I'm thrilled to see he had the good sense to open his eyes and say "howdy do" on his first snapshot. FANTASTIC!!! I'll bet they can't pry him out of your "auntie grip". And then there's the "great auntie grip" from your mom. Hope you two are doing an adequate job of spoiling him!!! No doubt about that. Enjoy those Kroger runs. They can be quite satisfying!!!
DEB---I'll be sending you good thoughts today. Because, girlfriend, it's going to be a long one. Your hiney will be dragging. Seriously, I hope you feel better real soon.
We awoke at 4:30 to a terrible thunderstorm. So I barely got back to sleep before that 5:20 alarm went off. Ugh! But managed to haul "it" out of bed and do 33 minutes on the TM. Those first 6 or 7 minutes are the toughest. I'm reading a really good book right now called Big Stone Gap and that's keeping me interested and on the TM.
Take care everybody.

Good Morning!
Hope you all have a great day! I was up early this morning so I figured that I'd check in!
DEB: Girl - I hope you feel better soon. As for the eating - hmmmmmm - You are the expert on this WOE so I don't know that I can give you any advice! Just be strong! When you feel that you are at the top of your "cushion" step down a notch! You have the ability to control what you put in there - just look at yourself - YOU are our idol - YOU are the queen on this board - YOU can control what YOU eat - YOU are living proof that this works! We are all gonna go off plan from time to time - that doesn't mean that we are going to Sugar Buster ****! But - just push that day behind you and start over the next day! YOU can do it DEB!!!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!!
BOB - I'm gonna check out that baby - I'm sure he is precious!
NANCE: Cystoscope is this Thursday - the other stuff is June 4th! UGH!
OK - have a great day - see y'all tonight!!

Ugh, Deb, I'm having these visions of you with dark circles under your eyes, hair all frazzled, staring blankly at the computer. Come on--it's time for us both to get back to acting like we have better sense.
You and me--totally OP--why not? We'll help each other get back into the groove.
BOB--the baby is a cutie! I'm not surprised he has the whole uniform--so have you signed his letter of intent for UT class of 2024 yet?
Liz--hang in there! Listen to your body and not the scale. If YOU feel good and your clothes are loose on you, then you are doing yourself some good! Have faith in what you KNOW to be true--not what the scale tells you!
OK--got meetings all day today.must get stuff ready for them.
Election day is 4 weeks from today. I may get a little crazy between now and then. Please bear with me!

Well....had a cleaning bee at the church last night and worked my fingers to the bone...but we had fun too!
I found some WW pitas in the store last night, they had them in a totally different section from the white ones, I will never understand who sets this stuff up. Anyway, I remembered Debelli saying they were a staple in her house so I bought a pack. Made with WW flour, yeast and salt with no sugar, no fat it said...I am not a pita eater usually so I don't know if they are all like that but it sounded good to me!
After I got home from the cleaning bee (yes I know I should not have been eating that late but I was starving) I made myself a little mini dish of dip with Low Fat cream cheese, a spoon of No Fat sour cream mixed in, Pace salsa and some shredded cheddar. I cut the pita into triangles and toasted it in the oven so they were like chips....MMMMM yummy snack I must say. True the carbs were at night and the whole thing eaten too late at night..but it was a yummy snack and still legal.
Toni- I don't know if I mentioned this before but Sugar Twin makes a brown sugar substitute that tastes great on cereal and oatmeal so you might want to try that too.
I can't post anymore, gotta get some other things done and off the computer. The kids I babysit are leaving at noon today because the baby needs her shots. So I have a short work day in that sense, but have to get some serious housecleaning done. I think I will have to make something tasty for dinner since I have a *free* afternoon and no excuses not too!

Happy Tuesday Girls (& Daramus)
You all were quite busy last nite. Still raining here. Did manage to let up enough last nite that I got my 3 miles walk in after dinner. Tummy is hurting today, TOM appeared. Hope it doesn't affect the scale tomorrow. Probably won't get back on until late if at all. Big insurance co. meeting here today.
Trish, Keep on lurking. It's better to lurk than not be here at all. Hang in there things will get better.
Beth, So glad to hear your SD is getting better. I know you are relieved. As far as snacks go, fruit is usually good, peanuts, veggies, triscuits and salsa, cheese. I know it is tough with your schedule, but your best ali would be to plan ahead. Good luck.
Lizery, I don't know much about muscle weight & water retention, but 11 lbs seems like to much to be that. I try to eat 2 carbs a day. Sometimes (like today) I will eat 3. The onyl sweet thing I have is SF ice cream and I really have to watch that, can't eat it every day. Are you doing any kind of cardio exercise? Good luck. I hope the scale starts moving in the right direction for you.
Quilter, Glad you dropped in. Sounds like you have been very busy in the yard. Bet it is looking great. Your exercise routine sounds great. Your right, get up and get it over with. Keep up the good work.
Toni, Hey. Hope you are having a great day. Hope the storms are over there.
Fruit, I have the utmost respect for teachers. How do you all do it??? May 31st will be here before you know it. Good luck with your surgeries. That sounds like a lot. You will surely have black eyes for awhile. Good luck with your test Thursday. Keep us posted. WTG on passing on the sweets.
Monet, that cake is adorable. I bet the groom loved it.
Bob, Jay is adorable. Glad he wasn't wearing orange for his picture. Maybe "wildcat BLue" would suit him better. LOL. Congrats to all. What are you finding at Kroger's that is so great? I shop there everyday.
Quiv, 6 more pounds to goal! You go girlfriend. I'll have to check out that link for the body fat. Though I'm not sure I want to know.
Nance, Get a glass of wine, turn on some soft music, get in the bubbles and chill. We really need the "old" nance back to keep us laughing.
Deb, Do you think that when you ate those brownies in NC that started your downfall? You are really scaring me. If you can't get back on the wagon all the way after a little cheat, I'm afraid if I fall off the wagon will roll over me and kill me. I think that's one reason I don't really cheat. You are our role model. Straighten yourself out qucik. We need you to lead us!!! We love ya!
Fillise, Did I miss something, are your running for office?
Gracious, Thanks for the snack idea. That sounds good. I just bought some pitas myself. If you are still in the cleaning mode, come on down, my house needs it.
Have a great day all!:)

Hello!
My, my is this board filling up quickly. One would think enough was said about it already, but….oh, well.
I cajoled my friend Tanja into going to the YMCA with me. She has a 6 year old, and the Y has day care provided, so Mama Tanja could go and have some time for herself! We did free weights, some machines, and then took off in the Spinning room direction. It was the same instructor as on Friday, but she wasn’t playing her James Bond music. Last night, it was Enigma and Transcendental stuff. I had a bit of a problem with that, since Bond music makes it much easier for me to pedal.
After spinning, we all went swimming for a bout 30 minutes, fooling around in the pool and such. Today we are supposed to go to the real swimming class, but I am afraid I will drown!
:strong:
I felt terribly nauseated for about 1 or 2 hours after the exercise yesterday. Is that normal? Sick as a dog, I was. Almost had to throw up. I noticed this happens after I do vigorous cardio exercises. I hope it doesn’t mean anything bad about my heart.
UPDATE ON KILN – Today is the day. The electricians are at my house, pounding away and setting up my electric.
This is my updated WEB site. PLEASE – SUGGESTIONS! I want to make interesting functional pottery, so – fire away.
http://mejachv.tripod.com/Pottery
I also posted the pictures of my Bird Bath. Birds actually use it!
CHOCOLATE – Lady Godiva has WONDERFUL!!!!! 72% dark chocolate. I mean, YUM!!! Really much better than anything I have tasted lately. They only have it available in small bite sizes, so I wasn’t going to buy a whole bag, because we all know what would happen to it!
MONET – The Cake looks …… appealing! Love the doughnut! I had a problem with the camera and computer also. I finally gave up and returned the camera to school, where it took them about 30s to download all my pictures! J
FRUIT – I hope your breathing gets better. What a drag not to be able to breath! When I get a cold, it seems to me like I’ll never be breathing properly again. Too bad that it costs so much to be healthy. Good luck!
LIZERY – I agree that Stevia is yucky in coffee. Bob says she uses the liquid kind, and is quite good. I don’t use any sweetener in my coffee at home anymore. I sent both kinds of Stevia to my mom though, so I have to ask her how she liked them.
DEBBIE – You should pack everything and send it to me. I will make sure, you NEVER SEE IT AGAIN!!!!! Ah ha ha ha ha! :D BTW – Finished 7 butter bells. Now, how do you keep the butter from melting into the water? I think I’ll just make some regular butter dishes now – with nice covers and perhaps a little animal on top. What do you say?
GRACIOUS – that pita with cream cheese dip sounded yummy! I would probably eat more of that stuff, but am afraid of fat. I will have to try it now, though!!
QUIVONDRA – I checked that link about the perfect body weight, and it says that my perfect weight is 152, which at this point, is minus 2 pounds. Right. My thighs are HUGE! Good for you, though. I hope you are satisfied with the way you look.
BOB - Congratulations! You have to post pictures of Jay in the new outfit!!
See yall later

morning everyone. Rained last night and I slept like a log. So ought to be rareing to go to do lots of work today... Like big time housework that I've been putting off...
Jack-K- I love your tips and need to save them... Thanks for posting them.
Gracious-Yum the pita dip sounds good. I'll have to try and bake the pita bread for chips...Thanks for the tip on the brown sugar sub.
Fillise-Are you running for an office. Sorry if I missed this somewhere?
Fruitloupe-Looks like you're ready for the day....
The Quilter-Wow you had the storms to. I must have slept right through ours. I was pooped when I went to bed last night... I agree those first few min. on the treadmill are awful. And I always think I just can't do this and then say yes I can!!!!! I wish I could read on mine but I can't have to listen to music.
Debelli-Sorry you had such a bad night. I know you're having such a rough time now and I wish you well.
Sef- Love you saying.....
nance- Hope you get to rest good now....
Quivondra-My gosh you are doing great... I would have to hang on your coattails to take the subway but it would be such an adventure. I would be such a hick in the city.
lizery- Good morning. Doesn't look like much food there....
Rosalie-Howdy there..
Bob-Can't wait to go look at the pictures.
Better get busy.... Have a great day.....

Good Morning! I had the best dream last night that I was on a boat, my OWN boat, and was flying over the water...I even had a Captain driving the boat, and it was a beautiful day out...it seemed to last forever. I hope it was an omen from God that from here on out my life is going to be smooth sailing!
I feel like today is going to be a great day! Ever wake up and feel like it's going to be a bad day?? I hate that.....I like waking up feeling like good vibes are all about! and why shouldn't they be.....cause guess what I get to do Saturday?????? Scrapbook with my scrapbookin' fool friends from 10-4....lunch included.
What the Nancemeister has realized is that she hasn't taken very many RECENT photos....I'm sure you can all identify with staying AWAY from the camera as much as possible! I was tellling Dan the Man that I wanted to get a GOOD camera, cause I've been using Moms for about 2 years nice (nice loan time eh?)...that I wanted to get something more sophisticated....and Dan says to me "We'll I've got a Pentex 35mm. up in the closest".....I was just dumb founded...been married 1 1/2 years and had NO IDEA it was sitting up there. Doesn't that just blow you away when you find something out that you should have been hip to all along....especially when it comes to your better half?
FruitYou better let me know what TIME Thursday, so I can convert it to Pacific Standard Time, and can focus on sending you the good vibes EXACTLY when you need them!!!! We'll worry about the June stuff later....sounds like a big plus after you get it all done! My brother had sleep apnea and had to have a total of three surguries to help his breathing...nose, palatte, and tongue, but boy has it made a difference. Couldn't hurt if he LOST 200lbs, but that's another story! I'm hoping to be an EXAMPLE for him! ;)
Gracious Your snack sounds yummy! Check out Deb's recipe for Olive Gardens Spinach and Artichoke dip in the 1st quarter recipe boards...yummy when you eat it hot with triscuts!
I will have to find that SF Brown Sugar...love oatmeal with it!
Jack-k....the kids bathtub was WAY too dirty to take a bath in, and the idea of having to CLEAN it, just to take a bubble bath ruined the thought! I had a great nights sleep though and feel like a new woman! So what's the deal....did you go to a "Bounce" web-site....or is there a whole bunch of stuff listed inside the box with the tips that I never paid attention to? I am HORRIBLE about posting tips, recipes, etc. on the days when we are supposed to....I'm just a moooooocher.....and get everyon else's good advice, but I am going to add somethings to the recipe board on the weekend. Pretty difficult going through my recipe box and finding "legal" recipes if you know what I mean. I have a second recipe box that I think I'm going to move my "legal" recipes into to make things easier! I also have a SB Binder that I keep all my sacred stuff in, including recipes from the board! :D
Dan wants to know when I'm getting ready for work....heck it's 7:30am, I'm in my nightgown, haven't showered, and am supposed to be there at 8:00am....what's wrong with this picture??? I have my PRIORITIES and you folks come 1st! Hugs and kisses to all.....check in later!

So I guess my question still is, how do I add MORE calories without adding carbs and fat? This has been my biggest hangup this whole time. When I do the fitday journal I am hardly ever up to my goal calories but when I do the fat is so high. Maybe someone who is similar in size as me, who IS getting enough calories can post their food journal so I can see where I can round mine out......

Man I was on roll this morning...got up early...weighed in great and then went to take the fat test. MEAN old test...LOL It told me I need to lose 25 pounds of fat. And put my weight at 125..not that I mind 125 but that is really small on me. Could I do it..who knows.:) Gonna stick with the 135 goal for now. Been having a great week working out and walking. Eating better than I have in a long time.
Nance...enjoy that good mood you are in. You sure lifted my spirits this morning.
Ves...how neat to be getting a kiln in your house. You do nice work.
Beth...I think cauliflower is one of the best munchies to have around. You can eat a ton of it..it satisfies the crunch factor and it holds well out of the fridge. I also like radishes because of the flavor.
Furit...teachers are such a blessing. Praying your surgeries go well. I must have missed it somewhere, what grade do you teach?
Deb...I am so sorry to hear that you are still feeling poorly. Hope you can find time to cat nap today between appointments and stuff.
I know I'm leaving out half you guys this morning...(((hugzzz))) I am reading the post and enjoying them very much.
Love,

Well, I guess I will come out of lurkdom mode. I am really having a hard time sticking to this WOE. I am just so hungry all the time. I haven't lost anymore- in fact the scale says I gained:( I really want to lose, but I guess I have lost the motivation. Today I had 1 1/2 eggs for breakfast with 2 slices of sf bacon. I am trying to increase my protein. I am hungry right now- I figure I will make a big salad with Just 2 Good Peppercorn dressing(0 sugars). But I know I will be hungry about an hour later. Yesterday I did good UNTIL I ate half a bag of popcorn before bed! Now I am retaining fluid from all the salt. I took out chicken breasts for supper tonight. I don't have any broth- does anyone have any ideas? The simpler the better. Have to go- Boogie is throwing a hellacious tantrum:devil:

Tom just arrived. Feeling tired and achy. Still planning on hitting the gym..if only for 30 minutes. There must be something in the air..we're all tired!! Sunny days make it a bit easier, but I'd still love to crawl into bed right now.
Deb- Sorry you're feeling so crappy. Hope you can catch up on sleep :)
Couldnt sleep last night either and I'm paying for it today.
Jack-k - I know it can be frightening, but it's the best way to see how much you need to lose to be healthy. I'm not saying the link I posted is the best way to go about it..the best is obviously having a professional do it, but now I know that my optimum weight is 146...not some crazy low number. I was so afraid that some chart would tell me I needed to be 120 pounds. I know that's just not possible for me. It also helped that I did the test after I'd already lost some weight. I've already gone down a good 4% since I started :)
Vesna- Well at 146 I still won't be happy with my thighs either. To be at 20% or 18%, I'd have to be at 140 or so. So you could probably lose 5-6 pounds more fat and then gain a few pounds of muscle. But you should probably talk to a trainer for a better idea of what you can lose.
Toni- Half the people on the subway ARE hicks..in new york on vacation!!
I'm sure you'd do fine. Movies totally glamourize and glorify new york. It's really not like that at all. People on the subway are just tired and reading..not running away from a colombian drug lord  And I quote from Sex and the City. "City girls are just country girls with cuter outfits". (although I think "cuter" should be changed to "more expensive" or "slutty")
CountryMom-I think 135 is a good goal weight... Another chart told me I had to be 130lbs. None of these are to be trusted. See how you look at 135. My guess is that you'd look great.
That's it for now. Going back to work

REEEEAAAAALLLLL Quick...just finished lunch...thank goodness for triscuit and left over turkey salad! I'm stranded without my car, and fortunately had food here at work!
CountryMom Did you take Quiv's test on that web site? I just did it and it said I should weigh 151...I'm 5'8"...I guess that would be o.k. Deb looked on a different web site and figured 146 for me....those #'s sound so far away though right now!
Quiv What is your height? I went to the web site....I know my body fat % because I have a Tanita body fat scale at home, but am curious as to why the site doesn't ask for height?
Gotta get back to work! Cioa!

Well, I am NOT ready for WIW - I know I am swollen, ankles are puffy, and I feel miserable.... so I won't be surprised by what the scale says, but I know it is water so I won't take it to heart....I have BEEN SO GOOD!!! :)
Work is crazy, life is hectic at the moment, and I am ready for home! I hope that I get the time to post to all.... but I don't have that time right now.... :(
Tonight I have to go to the grocery and get some food in the house - my son is all upset because the milk went bad and he does not feel well - he is home sick today....

Just a quicky as well.....I had a post and lost it earlier!!!
I went to that site as well and it said I was 23.5%...not bad...but it said I should weigh 121........now mind you I am 5'7"....I know that is just a couple of pounds away from where I am but come on! Does anybody know of any other sites that do the same thing? Would be interesting to compare.
Deb....My thoughts are w/ you. Maybe it is PMS that is getting the best of you. Keep focused and stay positive. We love you man!!!!
Is tonight CHAT NIGHT????? I hope I remember and can get in!

Hey Gang,
Just wanted to share something with you all. Just got out of my ins. meeting. THe company took us to a pretty elite place for lunch. It amazes me how this WOE changes you mind set. I actually ordered a broiled grouper, it came with layonaise (sp) potatoes, but I substitued mixed veggies which ended up being peppers, onions, zuchinni and mushrooms, sauteed in some type of oil. Never in a million years would I have ever ordered that. It was simply wonderful. I ate every bite. I surprised myself. THe whole time I am eating I'm thinking who would ever believe I am eating this and liking it. So all you people who are struggeling with this, hang in there this does get easier and is a WOE for the rest of your life.
No time to post to all, Love ya

I have much experience with the 'chicken breast disguise' method. Hard to find something new and different when you eat it as often as we do.
BOB posted a recipe on the boards... I think in January or February on the Recipe board for a Creamy Chicken Pockets... it is SO SIMPLE... and OMG even my PICKY KIDS ate it!!!!! It's fantastic! I might be making them again tomorrow. Check that board out and see what else there is.
My favorite way is to get a jar of Classico spaghetti sauce (no added sugar in the Tomato Basil flavor) and put the chicken breasts in a deep skillet and brown the outsides a little, then pour some sauce on them with a little garlic powder and let them simmer until they're done, then sprinkle some cheese on top... YUM!
Hope that helps. I don't seem to be losing anymore either... my system is so screwed up from this job and eating at wacko hours all through the week.
Keep your head up!! WE CAN DO IT!! E Mail me if you want a PEP TALK email... LOL!!
Well... I've been up for 24 hours, I'm off tonite so I don't want to sleep until everyone else does... I've munched on raw veggies all day trying to keep myself from eating too much starchy legal carbs.
See y'all later.... ballgame time x 2 !!!

Yes, Nance I took the test that Quiv sent in. I'm 5' 7". I was excited about all my new muscle lately till the test..LOL But at least it's a place to start. I'd been curious about my BF...I can only imagine what it was before. I think it would be neat to find another test and kinda compare.
As I was working out earlier I couldn't help but think of what a good tip to share today would be. I think the best tip I can think of is...don't compare yourself to someone else. And validate yourself. Really focus on what you are doing right and not what you are doing wrong. Once sneak or one slip doesn't undo the other 167 plus hours of the week you are doing good.
So hang in there ladies....and reward yourself for what you do do...LOL that sounds funny. :) Seriously...a bubble bath..new shirt..that special legal treat. (((hugzz)))

Hi everyone! Like Debelli, I had an evening of “Ack, can’t believe I ate that!”, complete with stomach ache, noxious fumes, and sleepless night. I didn’t even want to look at the scale this morning. I need to plan for emergency food on those days that Dan and I wind up not being able to grab dinner at home. We ended up eating out again (not in my budget, not good for me!).
Tomorrow’s menu: 1 slice WW lite toast with peanut butter for breakfast. Apple and frozen grapes for snacks morning and afternoon. Lunch is leftover chicken/mushroom stuff, with a steamed artichoke (1 tsp mayo with the heart).
My problem tomorrow is dinner. Every Wednesday is pizza night (the joys of having an 8 year old stepson!). We always have pepperoni from Costco. What is my best bet? Do I eat the cheese and pepperoni and make sure I have a veggie and salad? It’s a tradition, so I can’t not eat it. *sigh*
On the bright side, we did manage to pick out our wedding rings! Finally! It’s been like pulling teeth getting Dan to decide. I know we aren’t getting married till January, but it’s one less decision we have to make. Besides, it turns out he has champagne taste on our beer budget, so I’ll need the 10 months to save for the rings! Here are links to what we’ve picked out (we aren’t buying them from here, but something similar from a local, reputable jeweler):
Mine: http://www.bluenile.com/product_details.asp?oid=325&pid=AB03300104
His: http://www.bluenile.com/product_details.asp?oid=1114&pid=AB27300205
Last question is on home exercise equipment. What do you have (if anything) at home? Treadmill? Elliptical? Would you recommend it? I am considering giving up my gym membership and either 1. Joining Curves for Women, or 2. Buying a treadmill or elliptical (my best options, I think). Opinions and suggestions are very welcome!
Jack-K – I know I need to cut the carbs. I don’t eat the pasta with the chicken/mushroom soup, just the chicken with veggies. I stopped at 1 slice of bread for lunch, after reading your response :) so I guess I didn’t do too badly.
CountryMom4Him – It’s nice when Dan is staying with me, which is every other week. He works one week on and then has one off, and he stays with me on his week on. When he’s over, he pretty much eats what I put in front of him. Of course, on his weeks off when he’s over at his moms with his son, I am at the mercy of whatever is put on the table. That’s going to be a tough thing for me to deal with! Any suggestions I can pass along to them for kid-friendly quick meals?
Toni48 – Whoohoo! Glad to hear your DH is coming around! I’m trying to badger Dan into walking with me in the evenings. We’ll see how that goes!
Debelli – I know, I know, just carbs for breakfast. *sigh* I really do best with protein, but didn’t have anything else on hand that morning. I’m going to hard boil some eggs and peel and baggie them for breakfast and snacks this week.
Quivondra – I park in the “back forty” here at work. I haven’t checked the distance, but it’s pretty darn far. I also take the stairs, because the elevator’s too inconvenient and I work on the second floor. I belong to a gym, but haven’t gone since last July. For all the money I’ve continued to pay, I could have bought a really good treadmill!
That’s it for now. Dan and his son (John) are coming over to pick me up from work in a few minutes. John has swim lessons every Tuesday, so this will give me the chance to look into a membership at the community center.
Hope everyone has a wonderful evening!
Hugs,
Jenn

From all the different sites I've checked out, and after having had a gym do my body fat test.. I've come to this conclusion..
at 152 (current) --Lookin' Good
At 148 -- Lookin' better
At 145 -- Hot Damn!
At 142 -- I wish I had her metabolism
So pick a range and stick with it :)
BTW, I'm 5'6 with a medium frame..

Evening All:wave:
Well, I'm plump tuckered out. I feel like a walking dead woman! I was hoping this morning there was some possible way of getting in some sleep, but nope, I couldn't. I had to take my car in for the brakes to be checked and to have an oil change that was over 2,000 miles overdue:eek: Eli had a eye dr. appt and then we went to lunch-honestly don't remember much about it, ELI said I didn't eat all that much, just didn't have the strength. So pooped I can't wait to hop in bed with high hopes I will sleep straight through the night-not even going to the weigh training class, I don't have any power to lift a flea!
I forgot to mention with feeling the way I was last night, I was also dying of thirst! I had to get up for water, something I never ever have to do. Today, I drank 3 liters, it was like my throat was dry constantly. Feeling better now, but feel like I'm walking with a fish tank in my tummy.
Eating was good-actually, I only had my salad from OLE OLE and an Asian Pear-not hungry, does that surprise anyone??? Not after last night!!
Don't like that it's been 2 days I've not exercised-not good:nono: Hoping tomorrow I'll get back into the groove-another reason I need some beauty rest!
Gals, thanks for all the good wishes, I'm going to be just fine, just a lapse of judgement that I won't let happen again, or anytime too often at least. I don't like feeling as I did and I'll try to keep this in the forefront of my mind. After 2 years of being so SB LEGAL, I guess I'm entitled to a screw up once in a while- hey, at least I didn't have any bday cake at my nieces party on Sunday!
Well, my eyes are stinging so I'm heading off into the sunset. I don't know if I will be up for CHAT TONIGHT AT 9:15PM EST, but if I am, I'll surely get on the computer if it's free.
Please remember, TOMORROW IS WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY!!! I wish you all wonderful luck with the metal monster - do I dare step into the pit???????:?:

JENN: I have a Hebb Trim Up treadmill. It is the kind that folds up when not in use. It still takes up a good bit of room, but at least it hugs the wall! I love it! It was not the cheapest one available, nor the most expensive, but I found good reviews on it on an exercise web site. I like having it since I am not the type that likes to go and walk around the neighborhood. With the treadmill, I have no excuses. If it is raining, I walk. If it is hot, I walk. I can use it at night when it is dark...etc. My husband hates it...he would rather go run in the office park near here. He likes to be out in the heat too. That is him... I find being able to do my walking in the privacy of my own bedroom very conducive to keeping at it. I am glad I invested in it.

Haven't even really lurked in several weeks. Have been back and forth to the beach twice and am trying to recover from that. Was to start week 1, challenge 2 of BFL this week but have not felt good. Dh came home from work today with the "Big D" so perhaps we have a little bug here.
Have continued to try to prep my living room for paint. Was on that @)#(*)@$* ladder this evening scraping the ceiling and spreading sheet rock mud until I ran out. Hope to have some color on those walls by bedtime Sun. My first Southern Living at Home party is here on the 19th and I have work to do! I also have to co-host Keeno on the 20th at a friend's house so I will lose time to that as well.
So now maybe y'all see why my time here has been nil of late. And speaking of late, I'm going to bed!
Hope all are well. Will check back again later in the week.
Take care,

Tranquil How old is your son? I have a son who is 14 and a daughter who is 12.
Kimmy At my old Dr.'s office....his rule of thumb for weight was 100 lbs. for 5'0" and add 5lbs. for each inch over. SO
5'1=105
5'2=110
5'3=115
5'4=120
5'5=125
5'6=130
5'7=135
5'8=140.......etc. but Deb doesn't agree with his method!
Jack-k Good for you on your fish lunch. I have had similar experiences and I always feel so good that I tried something different....and liked it!
Beth-How often are you weighing? I noticed at the bottom of your signature your last weigh in was 4/17. Sorry your schedule is so crazy at work! Is there light at the end of the tunnel for a more normal shift in the future?
CountryMomI want you to know that I took the PAINS of downloading Yahoo IM, just so I could say "Hi" to you and you weren't even around!!!! Am I chopped liver or what? Don't tell me you do like Debbie does...and look like you're online, but really aren't!:p
QuivThat cottage cheese and egg combo sounds interesting...I'll have to try that out!
SOLSHINE WHERE ARE YOU?????? Are you still walking that 10 miles?
Well, I'm going to sign off.....see you dudettes soon!

Okay, here is the deal. I already told you about being 3 lbs up from that dinner on Friday. Then it seemed I was 2 lbs down. I don't understand all the ups and downs of it, but this morning I am weighing in at 166. I was tempted not to post but I thought I would be such a suck not to, just because I was up. The facts are the facts and as ugly as they are..they are! I was down to 163.5 there last week some time and I know I will get back there again in a few days, but the waiting is a drag! Such is life. Sometimes I am fine with the wait, then other times..after 66 lbs of losing...I just want to get there NOW! I am sure you all know what I mean..but wait we must!
Salsa/SGWW Pita Chips Thing
Quite a few people commented about my little snack idea so I thought I might give a few more details so you can replicate it more accurately. I just eyeballed it but I will put down what I think it was approximately.
I used a small glass dessert dish to make and eat it out of.
Place 1 oz Low Fat Cream Cheese in dish and nuke for 10 seconds.
Stir now soft cream cheese and add 1 Tbsp No Fat Sour Cream, stir until mixed.
Cover with a layer of Pace Salsa- I am guessing about 3 Tbsp.
Grate 1/2 oz LF Cheddar or LF Monteray Jack and sprinkle on top.
For the Pita: I cut it into triangles then made it crisp in the oven while I was putting the dip together. They were ready at the same time!
I tried that BF% site and was sad to see that it gave me a higher reading than others I have used. I have tried 3 now with my present stats and got 24%, 28% and 29.5%. I know the 24% is definitely too low but was hoping that the 28% was more accurate than the 29.5%!! I think that the Jiggle Factor is the most accurate for me and will go with that until I can get it professionally done, which won't be anytime too soon since I don't belong to a gym.
Okay, I gotta boot it because hubby is coming back and I only had a quick time to hop on here before his return!! Have a great WIW..even if you are like me and in denial!

HAPPY, HAPPY WIW!
Hope you all are having a good WIW. I was happy to see the scale at 244.5 this morning. I think last WIW I was at 250.5 - which was up 1.5 from the week before but things are all looking good now. I was gonna be really pissed if I didn't have something good happen this week being that I've been passing on all of those yummy goodies in the teacher's lounge this week! So, all I can say is - it was worth it - cause I had a really good WIW.
Hope all of you have a good day too!

Happy WIW Everyone.
Well for some unknown reason, the scale ws down 2 pounds. I think I go on and off at least 10-15 times. Guess I'll take it. Felt icky this a.m. and TOM is in force, drug my butt out of bed at 5:30 to work out. Forced myself to eat bf.
Enjoyed chat last nite. Not many participants. 4 of us. Then just Daramus and me chatted for a long time.
Off to Dr with DD to see if she needs surgery for her endomitriosis (sp). Need to find something to relieve her pain.
Vesnoid, How nice to have a friend go to the Y with you. Makes it so much easier and fun to. I make have to look into spinning. sounds like fun. Glad you are getting your kiln hooked up. Your stuff is really nice.
Nance, glad to see you are back to your old self. You made me laugh, as always. I would have to be 130 according to your chart. That would be great, but that's pushing things.
Country, When you get to 135 see how you feel and look and then decide if 125 is good for you. You might just be happy at 135.
Heartmom, Are you snacking on fruits, etc? If you are hungry 1 hour after you eat, you must not be eating enough. Talk to Deb. She can help you. Drink tons of water, that will help fill you up.
Beth, I'm so proud of yu. With your crazy schedule you are still hanging in there. Keep eating those veggies you can do it girl.
Country, liked your tip. I think rewarding yourself is a good idea. When I first started for every 10 ppounds I would buy something new. Started with pj's, purse, top. Now I need new clothes all the time but it is a good idea.
Jenn, How exciting getting your rings. I will have to look at them. I don't have any equipment at home (used to had bike, rowing machine, etc, but they were just dust collectors). Now I walk outside every day and I have a set of adjustable weights that I use for upper body. Eventually I may join a gym, but this works for now. On the pizza thing, just eat the toppings, no crust, along with a salad. Or do they have wings there? How about making your own? If you don't want to fool with making dough, use pita pockets, fill with sauce, pepperonies, mushrooms, etc. They are really good. Bake until heated, stuff with some cheese. YUM Plan ahead. There is always an alternative.
Frog, Glad you checked in, been wondering about you. Your house is going to look so nice when you get done. BTY I have been meaning to ask you if you have any pictures or directions for decorating a chair with netting or fabric. My DD saw one at the SL booth at the wedding expo and the chair was draped with material and had a metal flower pot hanging on the back. If you have some sort or directions or picture could you e-mail or fax it to me? My sister is going to try to make the chair covers for the wedding party. Thanks
Fruite, Is that 6#'s? Way to Go. It is worth it. Keep on truckin.
Have a good day all. Hope the scale is good to you.;)

Howdy!
I am still at 154 or so. I don't care. Well, I do, but... I am hoping that after TOM, my weight will go down. I think I may be drinking too much cafeeine.
I did 45 min weight lifting last nite, than 15 minutes of swimming (1000 meters). I am now concentrating on this jiggly fat poctets lining my legst. Argh! Disguisting. I can't believe I let myself go this far before intervening. I always had nice legs - just haven't paid attention to them the last 5 years or so.
JACKIE - Spinning can be quite exhausting. I definitely recommend wearing a heart rate monitor. I need to take it easier as well, or find a way not to get sick afterwards.
Heartmom – Have you tried lowering your fat intake? Eggs are very fatty, and so is bacon. If I have an egg in the morning, I am usually fighting the fat all day long. You may want to consider a substitute, such as Better’n Eggs. I prefer this brand to the Egg beaters. Also, Popocorn is a NO-NO!:nono: If you must snack, snack on Triscuits, or even nuts. You can grill chicken breast, you can bake it in the oven with some sweet potatoes and onions. Stay away from corn, potatoes, bread, and anything that is highly refined. Chick peas are a good grain – no gluten, lots of phosphorus, potassium. They are also very filling. If you like Indian spices, you may want to look into their cuisine. Quite yummy and satisfying. Also - Try this refreshing salad: grind 1/2 cucumbers, add 1/2 cup yogurt, then tomatoes. If you like garlic, you can add it too. You can eat this with your chicken breast, and whole wheat pita. It is also very good added to any meal whatsoever. Very refreshing.
JENN – You rings looks gorgeous! As far as exercise equipment goes – I am not disciplined enough to do it at home. Before you quit the Gym, perhaps you should see if you would stick to exercise tapes, or something similar? Better that than spend the money on equipment that you won’t use. There are some on this board, though, who have the personal dedication to do it. Not me though, I need a major butt kicking.
Bye for now

First of all.......
Congrats to the losers! Fruit, WTG on the major drop and the strong will power. That is really awesome! Jack-k....good going!
Gracious....
I know what you mean. Hang in there! You are doing fine. Our bodies go up and down a few pounds so naturally.....I know it really stincks. Stick to the plan and you will be back down in no time. Here is a question for you....how have your bowels been? A no brainer, but if they have not moved, that would explain the gain. That is a icky subject, but very valid when there has been a gain for no reason.
Chat was nice....like Jack-k said, just a few of us. I had to check out or I know I would not have exercised....and the Osbournes were coming on!!!
I did 4 miles on my bike and 110 sit-ups.:) I was quite pleased. I could have gone a little farther, but my show was coming on and I have a small t.v. in my room where my bike is, so I stopped at 4 miles.
Scales are the same as last week.......123. I actually have seen a brief 121, and quite a few 122.....but more 123 than anything.
I had asked this yesterday.....does anyone kknow of anyother sites that calculate body fat? Thanks!
Daramus

Hi everyone,
Chat was nice last night. :) Well, Im down a pound this week to 187. My short-term goal is my 40 pound mark: 184
nance - Yes, I'm Greek-Orthodox, so that's why I have a delayed easter. :) It was fun growing up as a kid and having 2 easters (complete with baskets on both!) My parents didnt want me to miss out on the easter parties, etc., at school so they celebrated "amercian" easter with me, too.
fruitloupe - your friends band is very good! I wish them luck and success.
vesnoid - I mentioned on the last thread that your pottery is nice. Your new page is great as well. Keep it up!
Congrats to all the losers this WIW, and if you dodn't lose this week, your week WILL come! Just stick with it! :)
Bye for now

Well girls and guys.... It has been week since I have posted. I hope everyone is doing GREAT!! :)
Things here are little weird here. My daughter and hubby are having some problems. Keep them in your prayers. My parents who I lover very dearly are going to be moving in with us while their home is being built. But the good news is that I didn't gain any pounds this week. I am still at 157. That is a blessing since we celebrated Ed's b-day and my son and daughter in law were home this past weekend.
I have got to get to work. I will try to get in a post later today to everyone.
But if not, Congrats to all the loosers and hang in there if you didn't.
Until then...

Good Wednesday Morning Everyone:wave:
Yes, tis I, feeling MUCH better all the way around!:spin: Last night was a blur and I honestly don't even remember climbing into bed without racking my brains about it. I slept like a dead woman and honestly, I could of easily slept more this morning and sure as heck would of liked doing just that, but I had to do the carpool thing this morning, so up I got.
Got home and decided to try and push myself to go exercise, even though I still felt a bit drained I got myself out there and managed to do my 4.5 miles in 46:29 in the already 80 degree heat out there - very happy I went:)
Well, it's WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY!!!! I hope you all fair well on the scales today. I took the plunge and got on the metal monster and really can't complain (not that it would help any if I did) - 123 today, so still within my cushion. TOM is about 4 days away, so I'm sure I'll be seeing a climb sometime in the next few days.
As for my lapse in judgement the other day - I contribute it to a foreign force that took over my mind and mouth that I have since banished from my existence. Honestly, I really don't know what happened there and I'll blame it on hormones cause I have no other explanation. It's like that one little taste of something sweet and all **** brakes loose! I find that when I make something SB LEGAL as far as treats go, esp. if it's the first time and it's come out good, I have no self control. It's like my brain and taste buds go into a frenzy and I just can't stop. I know it's best for me if I just don't have any of this stuff around, just not make it, BUT, I'd really like to learn how I can have more self control when it comes to this. I have the control over the SB LEGAL CHOCOLATE, I have control over not buying junkie candy bars at the grocery store like I use to, I have control of not wanting any cake/desserts at parties - so why not with this???? Any thoughts, ideas???
QUESTION: Okay, when counting starchy carbs, one slice of bread, which is usually a 1oz slice, is considered a starchy carb. Breads can vary quite a bit in calories, but usually around 60-120 calories a slice. For those of you who eat the NATURES OWN SGSF BREAD which has only 50 calories a slice-do you count each slice as 1 starchy carb, or do you take 2 slices and count that as 1 starchy carb??
Glad to hear there was a few of you at chat last night. Sorry I missed going, but I was sleeping like a baby!
I am going to give it my best shot to play catch up on some of the posts - if I don't reply to you directly, please forgive me, let's just blame it on my funkiness:rolleyes: I'll do better from now on - I HOPE;)
FRUIT, kudos on the scale this week-you're doing great. Don't let a day go by that if you have no loss, or a gain, propel you to eat any of that nasty food they put in the teacher's lounge. I know you are much stronger than that!!!
TONI, let us know what the Dr. says today!!!!
GRACIOUS, girl, you know how our bodies fluctuate - don't give that little gain a second thought as long as you following OP as you know you should, it will come back down. Good idea for the pita-now you know why pita is a staple in our home!! It's wonderful for so many things! Remember, I have a recipe on the board for FATTOUSH-never throw out stale pita!!!
NANCE, nope, don't agree with that method at all-if that was the case, I'd have another 13lbs to lose - no way - then I'd REALLY be hearing from ELI that I'm skin and bones!!!! No chart that I see even has those low weights on them, maybe if I were an anorexic model that number would be good!
BOB, looking forward to hearing all the details when you get back home and settled back in to the ol routine.
FROG, was ready to call out the possee on you-glad to see your post, even if it's a shorty. Was hoping you were okay, you had me a bit worried.
QUIV, I went to the site you posted. It was interesting as when I was in Orlando for the SB GET TOGETHER in Jan. I had my BF tested on a Tanita scale and the girl told me it was 14.5%-which I KNEW just HAD to be wrong! This site says I need to weigh 135! Then I took measurements and it says it's 22% BF & Results of Your Healthy Weight Calculations Based on the computed pounds of lean and the standards from the chart, you should weigh 123 pounds. This means you should lose 0 pounds of fat - that was nice to see!!!!
JENN, I'm not one for exercise equipment. I use to have a treadmill that I ended up giving to my Father to use-hated it, became more of a clothes rack than an exercise machine. Only wish I had one when there's really bad weather out there and I can't get in my walk/jog. For me, getting outside, away from the house, the kids, the TV and all distractions is what I love about being out there. At home, there's too many things to distract me and stop me from doing what I need to get done - just my opinion. Whatever works for you, go for it-something is always better than nothing;) Love the rings!!! As for PIZZA NITE, if both Dan and SS know you are following this WOE I'm sure they wouldn't be upset if you were to take some WW pita and make your own mini-pizza and sit and enjoy that with them-a girl has to do what a girl has to do. It's not the pizza, it's the company-remember that.
JACKK-CONGRATS on this weeks loss! Good going on your choices at lunch-I too have eaten things that I never thought I would before and have really grown to love them-like salmon, I now find myself eating it at least once a week where before for me to eat fish-ick! And yes, I do believe those brownies were the begin of a demise of sorts, and I knew when I bought the box I was going to have trouble-the question is why did I buy it in the first place!
LIZ, as mentioned, cottage cheese, eggs, tuna, fruit-there's a ton of things you can add to bring those numbers up without adding fats. The web has a million good ideas on it if you go scouting. Why not send me your fitday journal for one of your recent days?
KIMMY, there's a ton of sites for checking weights and BF numbers-just look on GOOGLE and you can spend forever on there looking through them, and driving yourself batty!!!
DARAMUS, CONGRATS on this weeks loss-you're doing really well!
RED1, I hope everything turns out well for DD and her hubby. I think you did great this week for not gaining, considering the stress you're probably going through of thinking about the kids and having your parents moving in with you - keep strong, things will all work out for the best, I'm sure.
Well, I'm gonna have to fly the coop for now. Will check in later this afternoon. Anyone else watching AMAZING RACE tonight - love that show, can't wait to see who'll be gone tonight-hope it's WIL and his EX! Can't stand him, she's okay, but not him.
Please remember, TOMORROW IS RECIPE DAY so if you have any good SB LEGAL RECIPES you'd like to share with the board, please, try to post them tomorrow.

THE NANCEMESIETER HAS LOST 2 POUNDS!!!!!! OMG!!! THE SCALE ACTUALLY MOVED!!! I was totally not expecting it....been weighing practically everyday, like I said I wasn't going to do.....and then this morning, right on WIW, it happened! COOL!
Jack-k Mind you that's not "my" chart....but my old Doctor who I used to work for. He was a Sports Medicine Doc and obsessed with health and is lean and mean....According to his theory I should weigh 140, but according to Deb's info...I should weigh 146, she said that was "middle of the range" and I don't know how much "range" there was!
Jen from Min-Forgot to commment last night....but the rings are neat! You got me into trouble, because I was surfing the Blue Nile pages ALL OVER looking at all the neat stuff they have!
Daramus Since you got to celebrate with two Easter baskets, did that mean you got to go to the dentist twice as often? Just kidding! One of my good friends is Greek Ortho...and I love all the traditions, especially when there is a celebration, everything is so elaborate! Way to go on your loss! What town are you near in Az?
KimmyGood for you on all your exercising....it will pay off. I could have killed myself for missing chat...I was here...the kids weren't....Dan the Man was busy working on a project.....Could just shoot myself! Oh well, next week! Hey, have you met Quilter? She lives in the same city!
VesnoidWay to go on all the exercise...it will pay off. I'm with you on the caffeine...I've been drinking it in the morning and sometimes in the afternoon....and do I dare mention the word STARBUCKS! That occured this weekend! HELP!
Toni You're just going through, what I went through last week, but next week you'll loose, you'll see! I just kept reminding myself how much better I feel eating this way, no more heartburn from bad food, more energy, normal dookies:o...etc. It's all worth it...we all can't be like Fruit and have the pounds just melt off!
Fruit HOLY SMOKES!!!!!! Since you lost the most the rest of us all conferenced and decided you need to post your food journal for the week and show us how it's really done! WAY TO GO!!!!
Solshine If I don't see a post today, I'm calling Deb for a 9-1-1 ALERT...WHERE ARE YOU???? This is not like the Sol we know and love who can't stay away from us?!?!?!?!
Gracious Thanks for putting the particulars down on the snack, because I have a tendency to over-do-it! Can't wait to try it!
Deb Hope you are out of your funk and get back into the swing of things. Miss you and the monster posts!!!
BOB Get any mail yet????? (Regular US mail?)

Morning all!
I'm not going anywhere near the scale today. TOM is here and I'm bloated like a puffer-fish (OK and a mint julep or two--or three). I'll wait until the TOM water passes and then I;ll get on the scale for a true assessment og any damage done last weekend.
For those if you who asked--I'm NOT running for political office. I am, however, a political consultant--so I have clients that are running for political office--levels from statewide to local. And they all panic at about the same time. My life will be very interesting between now and June 4th--the Alabama primary date. I may not be on the board as regularly as usual because my phone often starts ringing about 7:30 in the morning and then there is no letup. All this is in addition to my work at the church (which is part time, my real job--or at least the major part of my income--is the consulting practice).
ANyhoo--got to go as I have a eeting in 45 minutes and must shower!
Have a good day everyone!

Morning, everyone. NOT off to a good start today. Forgot my lunch at home, the kitchen at work’s closed so I can’t get to my peanut butter OR crystal lite, and I only have two slices of SD bread and an apple at my desk.
To top it all off, my Future Mother In Law is driving me nuts! Dan and I received an invitation to his cousin’s baby shower. We can’t make it, as Dan has a concert that day (he plays in a brass and wind ensemble). I jokingly said something about “Since she’s sent us an invite, we’ll have to send a gift. Let’s add her to our invite list, honey, so she can reciprocate and get us one.”
So FMIL says, “Well she’s never had a baby before.”
I replied, “Dan and I haven’t married each other before.”
She says, “But you’ve both been married before.”
I was SO furious. I couldn’t even think of a reply (NOT like me!). How dare she say we don’t deserve wedding gifts because it’s the second wedding for both of us??? Neither one of us is even in possession of things from our first weddings (we both married for the first time in 1994 – over 8 years ago, for crying out loud!). We are trying to start OUR life together!
She is SO narrow-minded and judgmental. I am so upset and angry I am ready to call the whole wedding off, and elope to Nevada. What is her problem? Why can’t she be happy for us? We’re not asking her for money, we’re not asking for help, but I feel we DO deserve to have a registry if we choose. Should I print off all this info on second wedding etiquette and leave it for her? LOL. Grr.
Thanks for letting me vent!
Monet 320 – thanks for the info on the treadmill! It’s great to get a recommendation. All those things look and sound alike when reading descriptions. :)
Jack-K – wow, great pita/pizza suggestion! I will try that next week, for sure. I thought buffalo wings were bad because of the sugars in the sauce?
Vesnoid – I have tapes collecting dust (Tae-Bo and Pilates), so that apparently doesn’t work for me either. I need an exercise buddy. Not having to go alone is a major incentive for me. However, I only moved here a year ago, and don’t have anyone to exercise with. Short of taking out an ad, I don’t know what to do!
Happy Middle of the week!

Howdy Y'all :) Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday morning... I am... probably because I still don't own a scale..
Which brings me to my first reply:
NANCE - I don't own a scale, so I don't get to weigh very often. Budgets are tight here and the $$ for a scale can buy FOOD..LOL :) I weighed in on 4/17 because I went to my mother in laws house and weighed in there... haven't been there since though because I started work and I never go anywhere anymore. LOL!!
DEB - I count one slice as one serving of the NOSGSFWW bread. Wow that's a lot of letters. If I eat a sandwich, I count it as 2 servings. Most times I use one piece of bread, load my goodies on top and eat it with a fork. Like today my lunch I have planned is to make some tuna salad, make a piece of toast, then melt cheese on top of it and put the tuna on top... and a salad. So I like the half sandwich thing. Makes me feel like I got bread, without taking up all 3 of my servings. And I have a question... does toasting the bread affect the GI?
OK... I can't afford a gym (nor is it possible with my schedule at the moment) But I need to find some good exercises for toning my HIPS and INNER THIGHS... OMG right up next to my 'female' area my thighs have this little area of FLAB that looks like I'm hiding a grapefruit in each of them. That's the part that rubs together when I walk, and it's awful...I get little ingrown hair bumps that hurt like @#$ (I know.. way too much information, but geez I tell y'all everything else) any suggestions? Also I'd like to tone my upper arms...
I need suggestions that don't require me to BUY anything, cause I can't.
Thanks ladies... hope everyone's WIW is great... TOM is due in about 4-5 days here, so I know I'm bloated... so I'm glad I have no scale..LOL!!! I'm off to drink some WATER!!! Today I'm promising myself at LEAST 1/2 gal of water!!! Maybe MORE!
See Ya!!!

Jenn - I understand your frustration. Your FMIL just has issues, and that's just it. To be happy with Dan, you don't need her approval, neither you need her to give you her blessing and good wishes. It would be nice, but don't set your heart to it. As long as Dan is supportive, and doesn't go over to her side when she is being mean, you shouldn't stress over that woman. She is NOT YOUR MOTHER, or a person you are emotionally involved with. Feel sorry for her, ignore her comments, whatever. BUt don't let her mean spirit dictate your relationship. Unfortunately, you can't possibly win, because obviously she doesn't have any tact, nor does she wish to please YOU. Like I said, ISSUES.
Be happy with your darling, spend time with your POSITIVE friends, and feel sorry for a woman, who can't open her heart to welcome her son's happiness.
And YES - YOU DO DESERVE A REGISTRY!!!!!
And as far as new babies go - do we not go to EVERY baby shower, even if it's the THIRD, or FOURTH???? What a lousy argument!
Exercise - Join a club, report on here, and you'll get plenty of encouragement. It's also easier, if you join an exercise group, because than it's the pressure - you have to be there!!
[[HUGS]]
BETH - AAAW GIRL! I know about those grapes. This is what I used to do before I had money for the weights:
JUMP ROPE - find a rope in your house, tie it at the ends and jump away! (aerobical exercise)
LIFT WOOD - I used to get wood chunks, and lift those. Whatever, right?
BODY FLEX - Great for inner and outer thighs. It's a video, and I may be able to make you a copy, if you want to try it out.
Good Luck!
Bye for now

Going to the gym to weigh myself tonight. Couldn't make it last night since I was so tired. Didn't feel well at all...This round of TOM really kicked my butt. Snot fair!!!
Jenn- OMG!! We are so in the same boat right now. my FMIL is also driving me crazy. Long story short, my BF's younger brother (only 21) impregnated his very manipulative, deceitful gf by mistake. We all saw this coming since she proposed and he said no. She would do anything to keep him. Anyway, now my FMIL is asking my BF and I to like her because she has matured over the last few months and is getting good grades at school. WHAT?!?! I have a long history with her, and not a good one..plus I haven't even seen her for 2 years. You can't force people to like eachother. Weird. I've been nothing but honest for the entire time I've known my FMIL, this girl has done nothing but lied. She gets pregnant and gets good grades in college and now she's a wunderkind who can do no wrong? I'm sorry but morals and trust are not grown overnight. So Jenn, I hear you :)
Beth- Do some squats for your lower body. 1. Legs shoulder width apart. Do as though you're sitting down. Butt going bach and your knees not going past your toes. Do 3 sets of 10-15. 2. Now point your toes outward and do the same thing, this time focusing on squeezing your inner thighs as you come up. 3 sets of 10-15.
If this gets easy..after doing your set, stay down and bounce for a while. That'll get you burning :)
WTG Nance! 2lbs...keep it up :)
Deb- 22% is perfect! All you need to do is maintain..lucky duck!\
fruit- congrats on the loss..you're really moving now!!
Toni- good luck with the doctor. hope you get some good news/feedback.
Jack- I think we're on the same cycle..should we opt-in for WIF?
Vesna- Spinning should make your legs rock hard...do you have cellulite or are your legs just flabby? My inner thighs are just flab and then my saddlebags are cellulite ..not fun :(
Kimmy- keep up the exercising! You're doing great!
Daramus- Congrats on the loss. You're really getting there!
Red1- I can imagine that is stressful..will definitely keep your family on my mind. Good news that you are maintaining..knowing how to do that is sometimes as important as knowing how to lose :)

Jenn, Vesna makes a great point. I try to just bite my tongue and ignore her strange and inappropriate comments. It's best to just accept the fact that she is different and feel sorry that she is being blindsided by HERSELF! hahaha.

Happy WIW to all you losers! I am down to 242 - for a grand total of 33 lbs! I have lost 2" in my chest, 6" in my waist, and 4" in my hips, and am down to a size 20 finally!!! :D I am in the best mood ever because of this!
Here is an email I got the other day - I know it isn't Monday, but I'm going to post it so I don't forget about it.
SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE AREN'T AFRAID OF FAILURE
by Jeffrey J. Mayer
Successful people know that nothing ever goes exactly as planned. And no matter how hard you work, sooner or later you must face the reality that you failed. You tried to do something and weren't successful. You didn't get the result you wanted.
You didn't get the job you hoped for. You didn't get the raise you deserved. You didn't close the big order. Your largest account just walked out the door. You struck out with the bases loaded.
You missed the winning shot at the buzzer. There was a fly in the ointment. There was a glitch somewhere. You failed. SO WHAT!
You don't close every sale. You don't win every game. You aren't going to hit a home run every time you're up to bat. You don't always get what you want. Failure is OK. It's part of life. It should be expected.
The bigger question is: What do you do next? What do you do after you've failed?
As Frank Sinatra sang:
"You pick yourself up and get back in the race. That's life..."
You don't feel sorry for yourself. You don't mope around. You pick yourself up and do it again and again and again until you get it right!
Failure is as much a part of life as success. Losing is as much a part of life as winning. The most important thing to think about is how can you ensure that you won't fail in the same way a second time.
REMEMBER: You just can't fail the last time you try.
Life is a series of trial-and-error experiences. We are taught something by a teacher, and then we try to do it ourselves. The first time we do it we probably don't get the results we want. So we try again, and again, and again. With practice we get better.
Then we push ourselves as we try to do something that's a little bit more difficult. As we succeed, our expectations increase, and so does the satisfaction that comes from the feeling of a job well done.
So we set our sights a bit higher-to improve our results as compared to what we've done before and in relation to the results of those with whom we are competing-and we try again. We continue to push ourselves to new heights.
When we succeed, we once again raise the bar. And when we don't, we go back to work to improve our skills and talents, and try again.
That is why I feel that the subjects of success and failure are so intertwined: because it is through failure that we grow and develop as individuals. We learn through our failures. Failures show us our flaws, our imperfections, the areas in which we need improvement.
In order to achieve your goals, to fulfill your desires, to make your dreams come true, you're going to have to work. It is hard work that makes you better at what you do, and failing from time to time is just a part of life.
REMEMBER: If you're not experiencing failure, you're not working hard enough.
Overcome The Fear Of Failure
Failure is trying to do something and not getting the desired results. Fear of failure is something else. Fear of failure causes paralysis.
It's unfortunate, but many people go through life with a fear of failure. They're so afraid that they're going to make a mistake, that they won't do something right, that it won't be perfect, that they don't try to do anything at all.
So what happens? They become paralyzed and don't do anything. And with this paralysis they lose the ability to have a rewarding, meaningful, and enjoyable life.
It's just physically impossible for someone who has a fear of failure to achieve anything, because that person has never tried. She never gave herself the opportunity to succeed.
It is in doing, trying, and experiencing things you never did before that you grow and develop. Through practice you get better and better at the things you do.
If you want to learn how to overcome the fear of failure, overcome the procrastination habit, and become more successful by writing and reviewing your goals, you should read my new eBook "Setting and Achieving Your Goals." Here's the link to order & download your copy http://www.1shoppingcart.com/app/adtrack.asp?AdID=8022
Learn From Your Failures
When you experience failure, take some time to reflect upon what happened. Pull out a pad of paper and start writing down the answers to these questions:
* Why did this happen?
* What could I have done differently?
* How can I do it better next time?
* What changes should I make in my strategies?
* What can I do to improve my planning and preparation?
Study these answers. Analyze them. Then go out and do it better the next time.
One day when I was playing tennis my instructor and I had a conversation about strategies. He said that if you're losing, change your game. And if that doesn't work, change your game again. You may still lose, but lose as many different ways as you can.
Overcome The Six Symptoms Of Fear
Fear is being afraid. It is being anxious. It is feeling that you are in
danger. In life, fear can be real and it can be imagined.
But fear is actually nothing more than a state of mind that is subject to your control and direction. You can run away, or you can face the thing that is causing you to feel fearful. It is in facing the thing that is causing you to feel afraid that you grow as a person.
These are the Six Symptoms of Fear:
1. INDIFFERENCE: You write things off because you feel they aren't important. They're beneath you. You don't want to be bothered with them.
2. INDECISION: You can't make up your mind. You don't know if you should or shouldn't do something. Or you can't decide if you should do A instead of B. So you do nothing!
3. DOUBT: You're not certain as to what you should do. You can't make up your mind. You're apprehensive.
4. WORRY: You feel anxious. You're uneasy. You're not sure you made the right decision. You don't feel confident.
5. OVERCAUTIOUSNESS: You're excessively or overly cautious. You check everything over and over and over again. You want to make sure everything's right.
6. PROCRASTINATION: You put things off till later. You defer action. You wait so long to do something that the window of opportunity has opened and closed.
Don't allow these six symptoms of fear to keep you from achieving your goals.
There ya go! Hello to all of you out there - I'm sorry I haven't posted much lately. I am going to try to get better about it - and since the gym is closed for remodeling next week, it looks like I will have plenty of time on my hands  Keep up the good work ladies, (and Daramus!), and welcome to the newbies - this site ROCKS!!!

WIW :(
Not a great WIW, but it could sure be worse. I’m up a couple of pounds from last week. My eating has been awful so I’m glad it’s only a couple. Plus TOM is here with a vengeance.
My mom is doing better. Probably going home today. She’s able to eat real food now :) so she’s happy. No news from the oncologist yet. They say they want her completely recovered from the surgery before any treatments anyway.
We had a very scary thing happen at school yesterday. The ceiling over the walkway where we unload buses collapsed about 8:30. Had it happened 30 minutes earlier, many would have been injured. We were very thankful. I was out of my room for the rest of the day while they boarded up my windows and put up a temporary wall outside my room in case it collapsed any further. We all thought something had exploded.
JENN: So sorry FMIL is being so difficult. Just bite your tongue. (That would be hard for me.)
QUIV: I have found the links you’ve sent along very interesting. Don’t especially like I’ve found about my fitness level, etc. but interesting anyway. Don’t you just wish you could ignore the rest of the family’s problems? Dennis has a brother that has not learned after 5 wives what to look for when it comes to looking for a mate. They girl he’s married to now is not even allowed in my MIL’s house.
NANCE: WTG on those 2 #’s! :) I definitely do NOT like your dr’s weight chart. That would put me at 120. I weighed that when I first got married and was always sick. Looking back at pictures, I think I was too thin. I’ll be happy with 140, if I ever get back on track.
JACK-K: You too! Congrats. Hope the dr. can do something for your DD.
TONI: How’d your dr’s visit go? Was he pleased?
FRUIT: WOW! WTG in a big way! How many days do y’all have left? We get out May 31 and I am sooooo ready. They kids are wild already and then when the ceiling collapsed yesterday, they went even crazier. We do get a day off Friday that was scheduled in for a make up day in case of bad weather.
AUNTIE BOB: Jay is sooo cute. Congratulations again.
DEBBIE: Hope you’re feeling fine now. I missed out on what made you feel so yukky. With all that’s been going on, I haven’t even lurked much.
I know I’ve missed many of you, but like I said, I haven’t had a chance to catch up on everyone’s posts. Maybe things will get back to normal now.

I will post my fit day journal tomorrow evening. I have a lot going on today! And for some reason this humidity is making me sleepy :o
I am taking the kids to the beach this afternoon so that will count as my exercise for the day
I have been so good about working out I can't even believe it. I know if I can keep up this pace the pounds will start to really come off.
We had the PTA Teachers luncheon today and I got to take the class of Kindergarteners for an hour :dizzy: Holy moly! You have to have the patience of a saint to be a teacher these days! I *KNOW* I could never do it!
Well I am off! I am so happy to actually be keeping up with ya'll! LOL.

Howdy, all. I've been so busy this week, so this is the first I've had a chance to post. Haven't weighed today, so don't have anything to tell. I usually weigh on Mondays to start the week. That helps keep me sane on the weekends. Have been walking, though, about 3 miles every day. I played golf today on a par 3 course, so the mileage was about 2 miles. I have a golf lesson this afternoon, so don't think I'll walk before then. Don't want to be too pooped for my lesson.
Am going to a conference this weekend, leaving tomorrow. Wish me luck with the food. It normally is pretty bad by SB standards. I'm taking lettuce, dressing, cereal, skim milk and fruit.
To Jenn and any others that are having problems with people that are not always easy to get along with, a general rule of thumb to follow is: Give Grace. That is, don't be touchy, don't read into anything, and just write off things the person says as that they are just having a bad day. Sadly, our country is becoming the "land of the offended" and that may be part of the root for the stress level we have today in the good ole US of A. None of us is perfect, and each of us has probably said something that has annoyed someone at one time or another. We all need people to give grace to us now and then. Life is too short to get into a snit about the little petty stuff. So, as they say, don't sweat the small stuff, and try to look at most everything as small stuff. For a marriage to be its best, it is a good idea to have a good relationship with your in-laws, so try to make friends with her. After all, she is your beloved's mother, and I'm sure he must love her. If you can love her too, then that will be even better for your upcoming marriage. But--we are all your friends and supporters on this board, too, so we are glad you could vent here. We'll listen and will identify, because we all have been tested by things like that. Here's some {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}
It's still hot here in central FL, and we are having a drought. No rain in several weeks, and our lawn is suffering. All the lakes are down so people with water front property no longer have that. It is now, bottom of the lake front property!!
Have a good rest of the week and eat healthy!

I stepped on the scale today after being 100% op yesterday, and it was up ANOTHER 2 pounds(makes 4 since last week). But now I know why- TOM decided to show up. So I am hoping most of this is just water weight. Maybe next WIW will be better for me.

I'm blessed to have a mother in law who adores me, and I her. She has often told DH that if we ever split up, she'll take ME in a heartbeat..LOLOL!!!! I don't get on very well with his dad and that side of the family, they are the more stuffy type who never liked the idea of me being older than DH and having a child before we met. I was 20 when we met, DH was 17 and I had a 2 year old child... we dated a year, moved in together after DH turned 18... got married on the 2 year anniversary of the day we met... and here we are 6 years later... 8 wonderful years and these people are still holding a grudge because I have a son already. So you can't win them all... I heard someone the other day use a quote I loved... Pick the battles you CAN win and make a DIFFERENCE!!!

Afternoon!
Beth You were making me laugh about the grapefruit balls between the legs....I know them well. Wore a dress to work yesterday (which I never do) and had the pleasuer of my grapefruits rubbing together making enough friction to start a fire!
I can't stand it when I see woman who have about a two in gap between their thighs....just not fair!
Jenn from Min Hey, I'm on my second marriage...and I did the whole thing ALL OVER AGAIN, showers, registry..the whole nine yards. Wedding #1 was in 1985...so what things that were still surviving were old, or worn out. Go for it! I don't know of ANYONE who would want to go to a wedding empty handed!
AdronsGirl HOLY SMOKES WOMAN!!!!!!! Way to go! I know what moving down those clothes sizes can mean....trust me I'm jumping up and down for you!
I know I'm missing a diddi to lots of others...but I gotta get back to work! Cioa!

Hi Everyone
Well, there were no surprises this week for WIW. I am up 1.5 pounds from last week, but down one from yesterday. I've been trying to restrict starchy carbs to breakfast time which I did o.k. for a while but a couple of days this week I have really gone overboard during the evening/night. A couple of nights ago I couldn't sleep. I went to bed at 11.30p.m. and was up again at 12.30. So I had the munchies, more from boredom than hunger. Didn't feel like reading or watching the t.v. so I ate instead. That night I had a 1/4 cup of peanuts, 1 cup of almond granola, some dry and some with milk, two digestive cookies with a cup of ovaltine. I went back to bed about 1.30 a.m. after this feast. Not surpisingly I was up a bit the next morning. I'm thinking of giving up trying to lose anymore and concentrating on eating healthy and trying to maintain. I've not lost anything since last September, just up a pound or two and down a pound or two. I'm just driving myself nuts wondering why I am just not able to lose anymore. I've tried eating less and tried eating more but nothing works. Maybe I haven't tried long enough cutting down the starchy carbs as I know this has worked in the past but if I end up munching again in the evening after a few days what's the point. I know I have to stick to this woe. I have no intention of going back to my old eating habits as I don't intend gaining back what I have lost but it is frustrating when you come so far then are at a standstill for so long. Enough ranting.
I got down to some gardening this morning. I planted 4 rose bushes. I didn't think I would be able to do all that digging but I made it. It doesn't sound like much but it is much more than I am used to. Probably will be full of aches and pains tomorrow. I just hope I have enough energy to go to badminton this evening.. I played a lot on Monday and ended up with sore feet and aching legs. I went swimming yesterday morning. I find if I am feeling achy and sore a relaxing swim always makes me feel better.
Fruitloupe - Glad to see you had a good WIW. It sure paid off resisting those goodies in the teachers' lounge.
Gracious - The ups and downs on the scale are normal but it is too bad when the ups happen on WIW. But I'm sure you will be down again in a day or two. You've really done well to have lost 66 pounds already.
Toni48 - Hope your visit to the doctor goes well.
Jack-K - WTG on the two pounds down.
Nance - According to your doctor's chart I should be 135 pounds. I never even weighed that when I was skinny, 35 years ago. Congrats on the two pounds lost.
Deb - Glad to hear you are feeling better to-day. Sorry I can't be of any help to you with resisting the legal treats as I have the same problem. That is why I very seldom make any. I just know darn well I will be eating most of what I make. The last time I made cookies though I did put a batch in the freezer as soon as they cooled down, which helped. But it also meant there were not many left out for my ds to eat, and he's the one I make them for. :(.
Beth - Toasting bread is supposed to lower the g.i. although I don't know how much difference it makes.
Howdy to everyone I missed. Gotta go and have dinner as I have to go out in about an hour to badminton. Having homemade chili with basmati rice.
Bye for now.
Marie.

Evening All:wave:
Just have a few minutes to pop in and say "howdy." Lauren's been on the computer since she got home, Michael got on right after her-it's been occupied all the time since, just got a few minutes while Michael is eating dinner, then he needs it back, so not sure if I'll be back to post later tonight or not, depends on how he does-he has a lot of testing coming up that he needs to study and get info on from the computer.
I forgot to mention on Sunday when we went to my sister's house, I made oclor-chocolate][BAKED BEANS[/color] from scratch using the BBQ SAUCE RECIPE I posted back in January - honestly, didn't think anyone would like them, but there wasn't anything left and even my BIL loved them, not an easy guy to please - even Michael gave them 2 thumbs up!!!:D
I honestly didn't do much today-just took it easy and trying to analyze what's been happening with me lately. Don't think it's a good thing to dwell on it too much, but I would like to figure out what makes me tick sometimes:rolleyes:
NANCE, CONGRATS GIRLFRIEND! I knew you'd pull a weight loss off this week-WTG! More to come, I'm sure! {{{HUGS}}}
Okay, gotta run, heeee's back!!!!
If not back on tonight, tomorrow!!!

NANCE: Send those vibes about 9:30 - OK?!?
DARAMUS: So, you checked out the website? Did you listen to the "clips" of their songs? If so - which of the 3 was your favorite?
MUSIC: The last day for the kids is the 31st - we have to go back for a records day on June 3rd! I CAN'T WAIT! UGH! Then - my surgery is scheduled for the 4th and I won't be able to talk for 2 weeks - can you believe that?!?!
OK - see y'all tomorrow!

Where is everyone??????
Got Dan the Man out in the kitchen making SB WW pasta with Emeril Lagase sauce and some steamed Zucchini! Yum!
I went out for Italian with the girls at work...it's our Wednesday Tradition. I order mushroom soup, and had Eggplant Parmesean with NO NOODLES! Everyone looked at me sideways, but I didn't care! I didn't eat any of the piled high garlic bread, and watched everyone else stuff pizza down the hatch. Of course the torcher continues at work with a rep bringing in a dozen donuts....I went to go yell at him, but he had already taken off. Another rep came in, who is a kindered spirit, and brought Nancy a veggie tray with ranch dip!
Fruit Is that 9:30 my time or your time I need to be holding you hand across the miles? What's your weather like out there this time of year?
Marie Let me tell you....when I did SB the FIRST time....I only had carbs in the morning....always had salad with protein for lunch....and had protien and veggies for dinner, and fruit as snacks....and I lost 12 pounds that one month of behaving. It's real easy to over eat the carbs. I made myself think...I'm mean THINK about what was going in my mouth. Maybe you should journal, then you can see where your weaknesses are....You can do it, don't give up....we all get frustrated from time to time, but we also all know what we could be doing better ie. ALL THE WATER, EXERCISING 4-5 times a week, etc. {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}

There are a lot of things I can't believe today....like that its morning. Some nitwit called last night at 12:15, woke me up, and one of my absent minded family members had made off with the cordless phone. Took me forever to find it. Once I got in bed, I watched the numbers changing on the digital clock from 12:30 until sometime after 4. I finally dosed off, just to have to get up at 6. I can't even go back to bed today...gotta take my daughter to the dentist at 9. I am ravenous...so much so I am nauseated, but I have to wait an hour after taking my thyroid meds to eat. I have another 15 minutes, then I plan to devour the kitchen!
Here is my contribution to Friday Funnies:
I left Montreal heading toward Quebec city, when I decided
to stop at a comfort station. The first stall was
occupied, so I went into the second one. I was no sooner seated
than I heard a voice from the next stall: "Hi, how are you doing?"
Well, I am not the type to chat with strangers in
highway comfort stations, and I really don't know quite what
possessed me, but anyway, I answered, a little
embarrassed: "Not bad." And the stranger said: "And, what are you up to?" Talk about your dumb questions! I was really beginning
to think this was too weird! So I said: "Well, just like you I'm driving east."
Then, I heard the stranger, all upset, say, "Look,
I'll call you back, there's some idiot in the next stall
answering all the questions I am asking you."

NANCE: That's 9:30 my time - so what's that your time? 7:30? Thanks for the good vibes!!
Ok - not much to report! I'm down again today to 243.5 but that could be due to the fact that I had to "clean my system" before this test - if you get my drift!!
Talk to you all later!

Okay!!! I am trying again. I never learn and lost another post.
Monet had me really confused there when I was reading the posts. I was sure it was Thursday because I had hubby take the garbage out this morning! Sorry to hear you had such a bad night Monet, hopefully you will be able to make it through the day and get to bed early tonight. I was the opposite of you last night. I went to bed at 8 pm and ended up falling into a deep sleep by 8:15! Hubby got home from a meeting at 8:45pm and couldn’t believe I was already asleep. I obviously needed it…the older I get, the more I love sleep! Oh..I loved your Friday Funny.
I hopped on the scale this morning and am glad to report it is down another pound. I am at 165 now and only 1.5 lbs away from my all time low. I will get to it over the weekend, at least I am determined to. Hubby leaves for a trip tomorrow morning and doesn’t return til Wednesday at midnight. That gives me all those days of making smaller dinners for me and the kids. I only hope I don’t get bored and eat from boredom!
Debelli- I was traumatized this morning when I was reading the pita package as I was waiting for my pita to be toasted. It is a 250 gram package and each serving is 25 grams and referred to as one pita pocket. Being the mathematical genius that I am, :dizzy: this took me a moment to realize that they considered only half a pita as one serving! I have been eating one pita as a serving. I would never have considered a mere half as one serving. Since I usually only eat 1 starchy carb a day and sometimes 2, I guess it has not been a problem for me. Do you eat a whole pita as a serving or only half of one?
Fruit- Hope everything goes well for you and do let us know the results. Not being able to talk for 2 weeks?? :( You couldn’t give me a worse punishment than that! I chatter constantly, even when I am alone I talk out loud and babble merrily away to myself. I hope it is easier on you than it would be on me!
Rosalie- Thank you for the encouragement. I want to encourage you too though. We all have those times when we get so hungry or bored or whatever and devour things we know we shouldn’t. The hard thing is not beating yourself up over it and bringing yourself down even more til you want to give up. I am glad to hear you want to keep pressing on. Just a little hop and you are back on the wagon. Look forward to your goal and know you will get there eventually…yet I sympathize because eventually seems like such a long time. The way I see it when the scale is not moving down is at least it is not moving up. I know if I go off plan then I will not only lose but will definitely gain. I would rather maintain than gain. I am rooting for you, Rosalie!
heartmom- Hang in there heartmom. TOM always messes things up for us! That water weight will go after TOM does. Just keep chugging in the water til he goes! And after he goes, for that matter.
Gatorgal & Jenn- I agree with gator’s sentiments exactly. When I think of all the times that I needed the grace and understanding of others, how can I but return that grace and understanding to people who mistreat me with their words or actions. A soft answer turns away wrath. That is so true..of course it is, it is biblical! When someone is speaking to you harshly and your response is not in anger but with grace, I often find that it changes their disposition completely. They recognize that they are speaking in an ungracious manner and become more polite. Even if they don’t, you have done the right and more honourable thing instead of paying insult for insult.
musicteach- Good to hear your mom is feeling better and is able to get food into her now. I am sure this will be a special Mother’s Day for you and your Mom, being thankful that she is with you and treasuring that.
Nance- Congrats on your 2 lbs!! I am happy that you see your scale moving now and in the right direction! Makes it all worthwhile for sure!
Adronsgirl- You rock girl!! Keep up the great work because it is paying off. Thanks for the update on your progress.
That is it for me, I have to get moving and make it look like I was busy this morning!

Mornin Everyone :)
One more day until I get my first PAYCHECK!!!!!!!!! Of course the only thing I'm gonna do with it is buy a new garage door since mine broke and I can't use the garage..LOL.. but hey, it's a start!!
Nance - LOL... I actually have a magnet on the fridge that says "I had to give up jogging, my thighs kept rubbing together and my underpants caught fire" LOLOL... My mom gave it to me for Christmas one year because we'd been talking about the same thing!
I found a pretty good exercise for my upper arms... I sit on the side of the tub, and put my hands down at my sides on the side of it... then I scoot out off the edge and lower and raise myself 10 times, and I do 3 sets of that. I read it somewhere using a chair, but HELLO, I'd knock it over and break something, probably a bone AND the chair... I decided the tub wouldn't fall over ;)
I did better with my eating yesterday, but still not nearly enough calories! UGH!!! I'm getting pretty disgusted with myself for not being able to get the calories in there. Yesterday I was so mad I thought... I bet a @#$@#$ Big Mac would give me some calories!! But I didn't eat one.. I ate some grapes instead..LOL!Hey I have a question... we're allowed sourdough right? Well Burger King now has a burger on sourdough here, but I'm wondering if all sourdough breads are created equal? LOL! I was thinking it might not be bad if I took off the top bun and ate the rest with a fork... I dunno. We don't eat fast food often, but I was looking for suggestions for the days we DO eat on the run.
Dropped my oldest off at the school at 5:45am. He has a field trip today, they're going to the state capital for the day. He won't be home until 8:30 tonight... I hope DH remembers to go get him since I'll be at work! LOL!!
Well... I'm off to finish this glass of water. I decided I was gonna make myself drink at least 8oz of water before I eat. Every time I think I'm hungry... I have to drink at least 8oz before I can get in the fridge..LOL!
Have a great day everyone!!! See Ya Later

OOOO EEEE am I behind or what. Hey don't forget me you all!!! I think we're going to have to build an ark here in Missouri. The rivers and theres two are out of there banks. So are all of the creeks. We live 300 feet from the river we are now about 20 feet from it. We sit kind of on a hill and I don't guess its ever got up here. Knock on wood. Anyway go for a mammogram this morning. So after the cardio app. yesterday and now this, I'll be checked out everywhere.
Nancemeister-I would have never thought of mushroom soup. and what a good idea to order the Eggplant with out the noodles. What a nice rep to bring the veggie tray. I have the most trouble with eating out. Not knowing what to order. I think I'm going to have to do it your way for a month or at least awhile. How you started out. Thats a good idea. I need to get something going here. Scared me a bit when I didn't lose this week.
Fruitloupe- I wish you luck on your tests.
Rosalie-You're really determined to stay on the board and keep going on and not giving up. Thats such a good sign to what a strong person you are and just need to get your head set straight. It really is incourageing to read your post. I know you don't think so probably but it is. And oh my gosh it would kill me to plant four roses. Even if they are my favorite flower...
Beth- I know how precious a DIL can be and one of mine (I have two) is just like my own child. My oldest boy married a woman that is nine years older than he is and he has a lovely wife whos wonderful for him and I'm pleased to have her in the family. She makes my son happy and thats all that should matter. Its ashame your FIL side of the family is missing out and just hurting there son.
Heartmom- You ought to have a nice loss next week. I'm going to work extra hard for me for me this week to make sure that happens because my scale didn't budge!! That drives me crazy...
GatorGal-Good luck at the conference this week-end. Sounds like you're prepareing well. Hope you can hold your own there.... I love your advice about giving Grace. I think you are totaly right. Sending you some rain from Missouri...
lizery-Yea for you and your working out. Thats a big job taking the kids to the beach. I sure have fond memories of that when I was growing up in Calif. And every once in awhile I sure miss the beach. When we go to visit family there I always make a trip to the beach...
Music Teach- At least now the weigh in is over and you can have a good new fresh start... I'm so glad about your Mom doing better. Wow thats something about the ceiling collapseing. Do they have any idea why? My cardio. didn't seem that impressed with my weight loss just said keep the good work up. A year ago he would have done a little dance but now he's to busy!!! What ashame when doctor's quit having time to be terrific doctor's and are just too busy...
Adron's girl- Congradulations on your loss. You're doing soooo good. I like your write up on fear....
Guess for right now better head to the showers and get to my yuck mammogram.... Will be back later....

Happy Thursday All,
I too wish it were Friday, but oh well. Still feelikng yucky. Don't know why. TOM is here but that usually doesn't bother me. I have totally exhausted. Don't know why. Went to bed at 10:00 and slept until 6:00 My whole body feels limp. I have no energy.
I really can't type today either as you can tell from all the misspelled words and typos. LOL
My DD will have to have surgery to see if she actually does have endometriosis next Wednesday. She has to have an ultrasound Friday too. They think she make have a cyst. I guess on her ovary. Anyone familiar with this?
Fruit, hope your testing goes ok today. Thinking of you at 9:30. No talking for 2 weeks, Impossible!!
Nance, How nice of the rep to bring you veggies. That's not like aman. LOL Nice job eating out with the girls. Congrats on the 2 pounds.
Monet, loved your joke. Too cute!
Deb, How did you make the baked beans. With summer coming I would love to make them. I always took beans to cookouts.
Jenn, Buffalo wings, not breaded, usually have a hot sauce which doesn't contain sugar or very little. I live on them.
Adrons Girl, Congrats on the new size of clothes. Isn't it great. I'm just about ready for the next size (14). Can't wait. Never thought I would see that again. Keep on going, I know you can do it.
Music, Glad no one was injured at your school. How scary. Hope they get that fixed soon.
Lizery, Not only does exercise make those pounds come, it makes you feel good too. Pretty soon you even start to like it. LOL
Gator, I like your thoughts on giving grace. Sometimes it just not worth the hassle of arguing with people.
Heartomom, Hang in there, that 2 pounds will be gone soon. probably TOM
Beth, I am fortuante like to have ahd a MIL that adores me. I just wish I would have been more appreciative of her. I miss her alot.
Fell behind on posting. Sorry to anyone I missed. All those you lost yesterday, Congrats. To those you didn't, Hang in there, your week will come soon.
Have a great day all! :D

Hope this finds everyone doing great. Today is my friday. I am so glad. :) Kinda in a funk mood. I am sure it is because of all that is going on and I am not one to talk about it much I just sit back and am quite and grumpy. Not a good thing to do I know. It will pass.
Monet 320 - Like I said it is my Friday. So thanks for the funny.
Nance - Congrats on your loss. Still trying to figure out when we can meet. With all that is going on here I am not sure. I have been giving it some thought about coming your way. My sis has a time share in la quinta that I can use. Perhaps I can get away with my hubby sometime during the summer. I'll let you know.
Heartmom - Don't give up hang in there. I didn't loose for several weeks and thought I'd go crazy. Stay on plan and you'll see the pounds disappear.
Gator - I liked what you said about Grace. Did a study at church last year on the subject. It was very good. Grace is what we all need to remember to have. We are having a draught here in California. The weather isn't to hot yet but the summer heat is just around the corner.
Deb - Hope you feel better soon. Are you still walking as much. I haven't been on the board to see, but I have noticed the past few post you haven't mentioned it. Don't dwell on it to long, get to the dr. and let him tell you.
Music Teach - Glad no one was hurt.
Adronsgirl - conrgrats on your loss!! :)
Got to run. Hopefully today will be better and I will be able to post later on. We have search and rescue training tonight so I can't promise. Everyone have a GREAT day !!!! :) :)

Just a quick post this morning. I am so excited..finally lost a little...:) 150. I think the extra workouts have helped a lot to get things moving again. I've also been really strict about what I'm putting in my mouth. I think that is harder than the extra workouts. When you spend your life using food as a celebration it's kinda wild to eat for health more than the joy of eating.
The good thing is I'm learning to finally love the textures and different flavors of the WW products instead of whining over the things I miss. Yep, took over a year, but I can finally say I enjoy using brown rice in some of my old recipes. Another trick I've found is that if I increase the spices and flavors the WW dishes tend to blend better and the WW doesn't stand out so much from the rest of the dish.
Well the kids are doing school and I have a million..okay not a million but close..emails to catch up on. Have a super fantastic day...and know that you CAN DO THIS! And you are truly worth the effort. ((hugzz))

Hello!
I am finally down to 153 this morning. I think I'll contribute that to some serious exercise, and a good cleansing session...khm, khm.
My friend and I went to the Weight Lifting class last night, and I am such a woooooos! Oh, boy, oh boy. Of course we are going back for more. My whole body is still burning from all the stretching and butt squeezing.
GOOD NEWS - My kiln, my sweet baby is finally ready to go! I did a long happy dance around it when it was finally in place yesterday. Oh, boy. If you haven't ever tried moving a $1300 fragile object, you won't know the sweating that was going on! I was a nervous wreck, but now, everything is good in the Vesnaland.
DARAMUS - Looks like you are doing very well OP, and you've also come out of the "lurk'o'matic". Good for you. Thanks for looking at my site. I know it needs a lot of improvement, but I put it togher in a rush, so you get what you put into! I am glad you like my pottery. I really enjoy doing it, and put a lot of effort in each piece.
CountryMOM - Congrats on your loss! Every little bit counts. You'll be on your goal in no time!
JACKIE - I hope your daughter doesn't have anything to worry about. What kind of cyst are they talking about? I have polycistic ovaries, but that is fixable by hormones. Anyway, good luck!
TONI - we are parched in Florida! How about sending some of that water here? I know how the Missourah gets. I hope you won't have to see if your furniture floats or not!
BETH - Debbie says to eat a spoon of peanut butter if you are down with calories, especially if you don't really feel like eating anything. Munch on nuts... of course, that is sort of fatty, but you make the call (peanut butter - now you have the excuse to eliminate it from your fridge!)
GRACIOUS - Keep it up! All time low, wow, magical! You'll get there.

OK - it's 8:30 and I'm getting ready to head to the doctors office! UGH! I'm starving, I'm thirsty and I need to stay away from the kitchen cause I had to fast! What is that?!?! So, I figured I'd check y'all out again!
JACK-K: I've had 2 surgeries for endometriosis - just had my 2nd on Feb. 14th. I've also had cysts before but not the kind that need to be removed. They just rupture on their own and they aren't the kind that are dangerous. They hurt like **** but they aren't harmful! The endo surgery is not bad at all. You are sore for about 5 days and then you can head back to work. Keep us posted!
OK - I'm off again!

Good Thursday Morning Everyone:wave:
Have been trying to play catchup here for the last hour. Hate when I get behind and takes me forever to get back to "normal."
Woke up not feeling rested but pushed myself out the door to go walk/jog today. Was only in front of the next house when I started toying with the idea of running back into the house and back in bed, but nixed the idea and figured I'd just do my best and possibly just walk 3.5 miles, which would be better than nothing. I ended up doing the full 4.5 miles and though I walked more than usual, I still was able to do it in 48:12-so I was pleased:)
Have some informative things I want to get posted, just need the time to get them typed up-some interesting information to pass along.
Next month will be 1 year since I met my goal weight-can't believe it-time just seems to fly quickly these days. Anyhow, I think not only do I want to find a new type of goal, but I need a new goal, something that will motivate me a bit, or something that will challenge me. I'm thinking more and more about the scale and may just try to put it away for at least one week-though I am very open to hearing some ideas if anyone out there has any!!!
Have a few things to get done today, nothing exciting, just some errands to run and a book to find for Michael for AP EURO, which he has some major testing in.
FILLISE, I'm sure even if there's any damage, you'll be right back to normal come next WIW - so don't fret:) Hope things don't get too darn hectic for you!!
JENN, don't let your FMIL make life hard for you. When I was engaged my FMIL made things a bit hard at times to the point I almost wanted to call it off. It was hard for her since she had raised her 2 sons all by herself since my EX'S father had passed away when he was only 9yrs old and they were her entire life. He would come over all the time, she'd do things for him all the time, etc. etc., and when I came along, those times seemed to diminish because he was spending more time with me, less with her-she didn't like it. I decided not to give in because I wasn't marrying her, but her son, and I wasn't going to let her get the best of me. You will learn there are times you GRIN AND BEAR IT as well as the times you have to EAT CROW, TURN THE OTHER CHEEK and JUST DON'T SAY A WORD-not that we like doing these things, but sometimes you have to not only keep your own sanity, but not to let others get to you as they do try. You'll learn in time, I'm sure, what and how to act around her. Don't let things like this bother you, it's just not worth it.
BETH, don't know if you've ever read what I do with my bread, but here you go...I take a really sharp serated bread knife and slice mine in half so I have 2 pieces and that's how I make my sandwiches when I have one-works great, as long as my slicing technique is good that day-sometimes it may be thinner than others, but I've pretty much mastered it now that that doesn't happen all too often. I don't believe toasting the bread does effect the GI, but it does effect the taste a bit-when you toast the bread I think I read somewhere it supposedly releases more of the starches and makes the bread taste a bit sweeter. Sourdough, yes, we are allowed it, BUT, no, all breads are NOT created equal and you have to realize what else they put in those breads, esp. ones from BK which probably have a crap load of junk in them.
JACKK, the beans, I used canned pinto beans, 2 of them, and just doubled my sauce recipe then threw it all together and baked it in the oven for about 2 hours on 300 and that was it. I really was surprised everyone liked them, I didn't think they would. Oh, I did use less agave in it, didn't double the amount of that, only as if it were a single, didn't want it to be too sweet, so that's something you can adjust to your own taste buds.
RED1, this weeks walking has been sparse, but I did get in 9 miles these past 2 days and will get in my walking tomorrow and Sunday - very unusual for me to do so little, but the beginning of the week just wasn't my usual chipper self;)
VES, sorry we got cut off the other day-must of been going through a bad zone at the time. CONGRATS on being down to 153-you're doing great!!! Wasn't able to get a response from my Aunt - she actually should be in town right now, haven't had time to p/u the phone to even call and see if she made it in yet. Glad to hear the kiln is up and running-you're on fire girlfriend!!!
QUIV, not sure just how accureate that 22% could be. I swear, if I could just find a surgeon to remove all the hanging fat and flab on me, then MAYBE I could believe it-pinch an inch, I can grab a handful in many places on my body. No way could anyone do one of those calliper fat tests on me and it be accurate:eek:
ADRON, CONGRATS, you are doing awesome!! You SHOULD feel wonderful, you're doing wonderful. Thanks for posting those motivational thoughts, as you know, I liked them:)
MUSIC, glad to hear your DM is doing better and ready to get back home. Wow, that is a scary thing that happened at the school-glad no one was injured. What made me feel yucky-yucky food! BUT, that's behind me now, at least I hope so.
GATOR, I think all of our yards have become crunchy brown-at least mine has, no sprinklers. It doesn't seem like it's going to be any better any time soon-and hot, this summer is going to be one of the worst on record, I believe.
HEART, I can easily gain 5-6lbs during TOM, so don't fret, it's not FAT weight! You'd have to eat a heck of a lot to gain 4lbs of fat in such a short amount of time and I highly doubt you've been doing that.
ROSALIE, we could have commiserated together the other night, sounds like we both didn't get much/any sleep and ate totally off plan. It may be good not for you to focus on the scale and just continue to eat OP as best as possible-maybe step on the metal monster once a month? Have you been journaling at all? If you are/were, that could possibly tell you if you are eating the right amounts. I guess we are like two peas in a pod with making goodies and not being able to resist. I thought about putting notes on the cupboard doors and fridge just to remind me NOT to even think about trying to find anything to eat-but with having the kids hide the stuff, there's not much around to indulge in unless I bake and I find I can easily let that feeling pass quickly.
FRUIT, how'd things go at the Dr. today??? Hey, whatever works to make that scale go down-clean it out baby!!!;)
MONET, thought we were the only house that had problems with cordless phones! We have 3 in our home and can never find one of them that's on the cradle or in the room it belongs-drives me bonkers. Hey, I thought it was Friday today as well when I went to take Michael to school-wondered why no one had put out their garbage today-then realized it was Thursday-brainless today, I guess.
GRACIOUS, CONGRATS, you are doing so well-I'm thrilled to hear you're down and almost at a new all time low!! As for the pita, I buy the smaller 6" ones (12 to a pkg). Depending on what I'm eating it with decides on how much I do eat. I like the thin side, so if it's hummus, I pull that side off and eat it, same with pita pizzas, will only do half. BUT, if I make a falafel, then I eat a whole one. 25grams is not even a full ounce, how big are your pitas?? Like you said though, it doesn't seem to have bothered you, so if you are enjoying them, enjoy!!!
COUNTRY, that's wonderful news-a wonderful milestone! One more pound and you'll be BELOW 150 another great milestone!! I can honestly say, I can't see myself ever eating any of those refined breads, white pastas, white rice, etc etc ever again, not only because I plan to follow this WOE, but I don't think they even would taste good since I've come so accostomed to their full flavor whole grain counterparts.
Well gals, I have to fly, it's getting late, but I promise to get back on here later with some new recipes posted. I have my weight training class tonight and then I'm going to be glued to SURVIVOR at 8pm - anyone have any ideas who they are bringing on the show tonight that has everyone crying????
Have a wonderful day!!

Well, I know I missed chat and WIW!! But I had a good reason...I came down with the worst stomach virus in years...it was after over 12 hours of feeling ill either hospital or using Fenergan suppos. - I chose Fenergan - which helped - and I have been asleep since - finally broke fever early morning....
Still home as I feel extremely weak - I have only had a slice of ww toast and a cup of plain oatmeal in the past 48 hours! Sooooo
WIW - 255!!!!! I have lost 2.5 pounds.... The pounds are coming off slower, but as long as there is some loss and no gain, I am fine with that.....
Hoping to catch up on the posts later....ta ta, Sabrina

Here's another chapter for all y'all...study hard...there will be a test!
SOUTHERNERS
Only a true Southerner knows the difference between a hissie fit and a
conniption and that you don't "have" them, but "pitch" them.
Nobody but a true Southerner knows how many fish, collard greens, turnip
greens, peas, beans, etc. make up a mess.
A true Southerner can show or point out to you the general direction of
"yonder."
A true Southerner knows exactly how long "directly" is - as in "Going to
town, be back directly."
Even true Southern babies know that "Gimme some sugar" is not a request
for the white, granular sweet substance that sits in a pretty little bowl
in the middle of the table.
All true Southerners know exactly when "by and by" is. They might not use
the term, but they know the concept well.
True Southerners know instinctively that the best gesture of solace for a
neighbor who's got trouble is a plate of hot fried chicken and a big bowl
of cold potato salad. (If the trouble is a real crisis, they also know to
add a large banana puddin').
True Southerners grow up knowing the difference between "right near"
and "a right far piece." They know that "just down the road" can be 1 mile
or 20.
True Southerners both know and understand the differences between a
redneck, a good ol' boy, and po' white trash.
No true Southerner would ever assume that the car with the flashing turn
signal is actually going to make a turn.
True Southerners know that "fixin" can be used both as a noun, verb and
adverb.
A true Southerner knows how to understand Southern: a booger can be a
resident of the nose, a descriptive ("That ol' booger!") or something that
jumps out at you in the dark and scares you to death.
True Southerners make friends standing in lines. We don't do "queues,"
we do "lines." And when we're in line, we talk to everybody.
Put 100 Southerners in a room and half of them will discover they're
related, if only by marriage.
True Southerners refer to one person as "ya'll." Two or more is referred to as "all yall."
True Southerners know grits come from corn and how to eat them.
Every true Southerner knows tomatoes with eggs, bacon, grits and coffee
are perfectly wonderful; that redeye gravy is also a breakfast food; that
fried green tomatoes are not breakfast food.
When you ask someone how they're doing and they reply, " Fair to middlin.", you know you're in the presence of a genuine Southerner.
Southerners say "sweet tea" and "sweet milk." Sweet tea indicates the need
for sugar and lots of it - we do not like our tea unsweetened, "sweet
milk" means you don't want buttermilk.
And a true Southerner knows you don't scream obscenities at little old
ladies who drive 30 on the freeway - you say, "Bless her heart" and go your way

Hey!
I'm back from the doctor. Things went well. There was nothing wrong in the bladder/kidney area - he said they all look real good. He said there could be hundreds of reasons that I have blood in my urine and he wants me to come in once a week for a urine test just to make sure it isn't getting worse. But - for now - not to pursue it any further.
So - still - why the pain??! Oh well, I guess we'll have to wait and see!
Thanks for all of the well wishes!!

Good afternoon, everyone!
Thank you all for the words of support and encouragement. I can’t tell you how much it means to me! We had a minor crisis last night – with the downpour of rain that came thru, Dan’s room got flooded 5” deep in water! His mom came running into the living room (he lives at her place when his son is with him, can’t remember if I mentioned that), and we all headed down to mop, bail, and try to dry everything out. The floors are hardwood, so we spent a lot of time making sure everything was as dry as we could get it. Afterward, his mom thanked me for helping. I will keep your advice in mind and just let it go when she gets to me. Maybe she’ll come around as we get closer to the Hawaii trip. Dan and I are going to make it the best we can for US, and hope that those that can join us will come along.
On subject of eating out, how does Subway rate in the SB! World? We eat there about once a week, so any suggestions/recommendations would be extremely helpful…
One other quick thing… I’m having trouble finding SF yogurt. Any brand names that I can look for in grocery stores? We have Cub, Rainbow, and Byerlys (more a high-class store, like Nob Hill in California). I couldn’t find any SF yogurt in Whole Foods, unless I was looking in the wrong place?!
Thanks again for all the advice and such. You guys are great! Gotta run, my sweetie’s picking me up for lunch. Think I’ll go have hot wings, celery, and a salad. :)
Hugs,
Jenn

I had to laugh when I read your post (since I am a Southern Girl) Saturday at my oldest son's ballgame, one of the other kids on his team had his grandfather there... and DH looked over and said.. HEY, I'm related to him!! We knew DH was related to people with the same last name as those people, but never figured they were family. Well the funny part is both kids are named Corey. They're the only 2 Coreys on the team..LOL. Now they just call each other 'cuz'
Thanks for the giggle even if it's not Friday... Today is actually my MONDAY so I needed the laugh more anyhow :)

I have a little confession to make. V did something bad and naughty today.
We had a little get together with kids today, everyone was supposed to bring something. OF course, that did not happen! Only 4 people brought something, so we had deviled eggs, cake, checks mix, and potato chips. I anticipated that, so I came armed with
SGWW bread, provolone cheese (2.99lb) and ham. I was doing pretty good with the cheese and ham, but then I tried a bit of the cake and was lost. I had 3 pieces, 1" each. This was the first serious sugar in a LONG, LONG, TIME, so I don't have to tell you how I feel. My skin is crawling, I have strange feeling in my throat, and it's just ....eeeeck!
The cake was very good, though. Oh, well. I'll be exercising my hiney off today (again).
I hope I didn't mess up my weight....
TRANQUIL - Sorry to hear about your stomach flu. Those things are just terrible. Hope it gets better!

Anyone good with words? I have to include a gift note for my DF's cousin's baby shower gift. We can't attend, but we're sending a gift. Yay Amazon.com baby registry! =)
Any suggestions would be great - I don't know her that well (only met her once at a Christmas party), and Dan's hopeless about writing things like this.
Thanks!!!

At Foodmax(I live in MS) you can find SB yogurt. At Super Walmart, it's the Blue Bunny brand. It says no sugar added. The sugars it contain are natural occuring from the lactose. The other stores where I live, don't carry any at all.

Going to the dentist in a moment so I can't talk long. But I'm now at 151lbs! Last week I was around 154-153 so that's my biggest loss so far! I'm really excited to see what happens after TOM has left the buildling. Coming into the home stretch...going to FL next friday. Only have a week to really lose some weight. Going to exercise a lot and really stay strict this weekend. Wish me luck.
Oh, and congrats to all you losers on WIW!

I have been baking my daughter's wedding cake all day. I have one more batch to do tonight, and I will be done. Then, if it is as hot and sticky tomorrow as it has been today, the air conditioner is coming on!
JENN: Why not say something like, "Best wishes to you and your new baby. We are sorry we could not make it, but hope the shower was fun." Do you need to say more? I think the KISS principle is good when you don't know the person! :)
VES: Hooray about your kiln! You are inspiring me to get mine hooked up finally! I just sold my smaller one to an aspiring potter who is dating a friend's son. After the wedding, I am going to definitely do it! Maybe if I can get throwing again, I can sell enough and not have to get a real job!
FRUIT: Glad everything looks good for you. I hope they can find the cause of your pain, etc.
QUIV: Congrats on that pound gone! Looks like you are going to make that goal! You go! Hope your trip to Florida goes well!
BOB: Guess I have lived in the south long enough to become a true southerner! Too bad my mother in law doesn't believe that! She still thinks I am a D(#* Yankee, cause I came and stayed!

hello girls and Daramus,
yes, i had fallen off the proverbial wagon and have had a very hard time getting back on. there has been a lot of stress at home and at work and i have identified that i am a stress eater (who would have ever known, lol!) i tend to eat the healthiest when i am happy(duh) so i need to strive to be happy. the work situation will probably get worse before it gets better but as long as i plan for the stress (with healthy eats for me when i get upset) i know i will be fine. we have a spewerlike personality who is making some of our worktime very difficult. I AM A SURVIVOR AND I WILL BE FINE.
will post more later this week, just wanted to check in and say heh!
bye for now,

Evening everyone!
I have just a couple of minutes so I thought you would like to know what the Doctor said about Jason. He said that he didn't have a chance to go over the MRIs and CT scans with his Neuroimaging specialist but he thinks that Jason's problem is Anxiety. I have heard of anxiety causing: headaches, dizzyness, nausea, irritable bowel, etc. but never seizures, unequal pupils, left side weakness and not being able to talk after a seizure for a few days and then stuttering. Anyway, he sees him again next month. I know that he does in fact have stress in his life and I know that stress can do many things to your body. I just don't know what to think of what the doctor said. If any of you in the medical profession have any ideas?
Well, hope everyone has a great evening. I'm sorry that I have not responded to everyone. I will try to do so tomorrow.

Hi Everyone
Nance - You did well resisting those noodles with the eggplant. It just shows what a little will power can do. Good that the rep brought you in a veggie tray so it at least there were some goodies you could eat while the others were munching on their donuts. I did manage to lose in the past by restricting starchy carbs to the morning and having protein and veggies for the other meals, plus fruit and nuts for snacking. I guess I am not really giving it long enough to work this time. I have been journalling using Fitday for the last couple of weeks again. I checked back on my intake a few days ago, thinking I had been restricting the carbs for a week or more with no result only to realise I had only been doing it for two or three days. I suppose I am getting a little impatient in my old age.. I am exercising several times a week, depending on the work schedule. It's mainly badminton these days, although I have started swimming again recently and sometimes I get on the stationary bike (usually when I have a good book to read, otherwise I find it a bit boring). Next week I am hoping to start playing tennis. Haven't played for years, so we will just have to see how it goes. Maybe one game will be enough  I know I don't always drink enough water. When I am home I drink more than when I am at work. I find that most days I can do fine during the daytime but come late in the evening, particularly if I am not tired enough to go to bed and sleep, then I want to snack. Most of it is legal stuff, but still it can be too much of it. I think I will just stop thinking about losing for now (at least for a week or two) and as I said before concentrate on healthy eating by staying on plan and aiming to maintain for now (that's all I have done for the last 6-8 months anyway).
Monet - Hope you got the day straightened out. :D. That's a bummer when someone wakes you up like that. So hard to get back to sleep again.
Gracious - Thanks for the words of encouragement. I am thankful that I am able to maintain (except when I go on holiday  ). I know if I went off plan that I would gain so I just have to stay on that wagon, even if I slip now and again.
Gator - That was a great post about grace. You echoed my sentiments but you certainly said it better than I could have done.
Toni48 - Hope the flooding in your area has subsided. How was the booby smashing this morning. Not too bad I hope.
CountryMom - Glad to see you are on a downward trend again. It took me a while to get used to brown rice. The only one I like tho is the brown basmati. I love the ww pasta. Now I think it tastes better than the white.
Vesnoid - Glad to hear you have the kiln up and ready to go. Good going on the weight loss. You don't say how much you are down but every little bit counts. WTG on the weight lifting.
Deb - It's hard to believe that it is almost a year since you reached your goal weight. I think it is not a bad idea to try putting the scale away for a week. What happened to the new year's resolution  I will continue to eat op as much as possible but there is no way that I could stay off of the scale for a month. Can you imagine what could happen in a month? Even if I am not concentrating on losing I will still have to hop on the scale at least twice a week to make sure I don't gain. I have been using Fitday the last couple of weeks. Calorie wise I don't usually do too bad but most of the time when I concentrate on reducing the starchy carbs and eating more protein and veggies the fat content is usually too high. The only way I get the fat down to acceptable percentages is when I up the carbs, particularly the low gi carbs like beans and lentils which I eat frequently.
Fruitloup - Glad things went well at the doctors.
Tranquil - Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. Certainly not a nice way to lose weight. Hope you are better soon.
Sheann - I find it hard to believe that all Jason's symptoms could be from stress, although as you say stress can cause a lot of problems. I would want to know what the neuroimaging specialist had to say.
Jenn in MN - I don't go to Subway but we have another place up here which is similar and I usaully just order a salad. I think you will find that most items available on a bun are available as salads.
BKM - Sorry to hear of all the stresses you have going on. Hope things settle down for you soon and you can get back on that wagon.
Hi to everyone I missed. Have to get off to bed and try and get some beauty sleep.
Marie.

I was supposed to go to the doctor today for a re-check, but I hate to go and see no improvements on the scale. I am going to wait until Monday. I don't want anything to depress me for the weekend.
Finished the cakes last night, and they are all wrapped and in the freezer. We had some big storms here last night, and the rain has cooled things off a bit, so I guess I will wait on the air conditioner. I have to bake a couple hundred little tart shells, so I better get going on them!
ROSALIE: I want to know what four roses you planted! Also, if you are stuck, and don't know why, have you had your thyroid checked? Thyroid problems are very common as we age, and it could be the reason you are not losing.
SHEANN: I find it hard to believe all of Jason's symptoms are from stress! I hope the specialist can figure out something that makes more sense. Maybe that doctor just doesn't know, and has to come up with some reason rather than admit his ignorance. I am not in the medical field tho, so perhaps I am wrong. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Keep us posted!
BKM: Good to see you! I was wondering where you were! I am sorry you are having to deal with stress at work. I hope it gets resolved soon. I have never met an emotion I could not eat for...be it stress, happiness, grief, worry... Good idea to have legal nibblies to handle it! I like cut up veggies to crunch on. The effort of chewing helps tame the emotion for me.
I sure hope everyone has a great day!

Well this has probably got to be the worst day. My SIL wrote my DD an email to let her know that he doesn't have any feelings for her anymore.(He is in the navy and is stationed about 200 miles from here) An EMAIL!!!! Can you beleive it. Mind you my DH and I are very upset. My DH wants to go tear his head off, but I told him what good would that do. We need to be here to support our DD and Grandaughter. I need some of that grace that I think gator was talking about earlier this week. Keep us in your prayers. We will get through this I know but there are going to be some bad days to come. Thanks for letting me vent. Even though I am not on the board that much, I feel like you are friends that I can share with.
Goin to Dad and Moms to help move some of their stuff here. They will be here by the end of the month. Did I mention that they will be staying with us for the next 4 to 5 months. This is going to be different. I haven't lived with my parents for 28 years.
Sheann - I too can't believe that stress can cause the problems Jason is having. I hope that the Dr. can come up with something more concrete after he reads the MRI and CAT scan.
BKM - I can relate to the stress eating. Yesterday I ate more than I should and I just couldn't stop. I haven't ever done that. Hang in there.
Jenn - What part of California did you live in that you were around a Nob Hill? I used to live in Hollister CA and they have nob hills up there.
Fruitloupe - Glad tohear everythng went good at the DR. It would still be nice to know why you are hurting though.
Deb - I agree with BOB. Get to the Dr. If there isn't something that you know would be causing you to feel the way you are then you ought to go see what it is.
Quivondra - Way to go on your loss. Looks like you'll make your mini goal.
Well ladies and gent I have too get going. Got to get the cleaning chores done before I get my hair done. Looks like it will be a nice day out side. For those of you who are having all the rain you could send some of it to the west coast. We need water bad!!

Good morning all- Got cold here last night. Weird weird weather.. Our t.v. dish finally settled down last night and let us watch Survivor and CSI. I have a whole day where I don't have to go out.. So maybe I'll get some of this cleaning done and walk on my treadmill.
Frog- Howdy......
Monet-Wow you are really baking up a storm.... Glad its going to be cooler for you. I can't believe how wonderful it would be to have your Mother bake your wedding cake. There would be so much love in that. Your daughter is super lucky...
Rosealie- I think I'm with you, the older I get the less I want to wait for weight to come off... I think I need to start jouraling.
Sheann-How can the doctor say that if he didn't go over the MRI's etc. with the specialist? I know from my own experiance it can be so flusterateing dealing with some doctor's... I hope you get answers soon.
BigKnightsMomma-So glad you came on. Wondered where you had went to. Just keep coming on and posting. Maybe we can be a sounding board till you get things going again...
Quivondra-You're doing so good. Keep up the great work. Yee haa...
Jack-K-I've got a paddle boat here come on over and we'll ride it out on that and exercise to boot..

Happy Friday Gang,
Yes, Thank goodness is really is Friday. Now if it were only 5:00.
I know, wishing my life away.
SPent the nite cutting grass. Missed survivor. Cutting grass twice a week is too much. All this stupid rain. And more is coming for Sat, Sun & Mon. Going to plant flowers tomorrow and getting my new washer. Hope my DH doesn't think the washer is my mother's day gift. :(
Quiv, You are doing great, You will definately meet your mini goal. Keep up the good work.
Monet, I forgot when you said the wedding was? You are quite the baker. 200 tarts, whew! My DD's is one year from tomorrow. This time next year I will be crazy.
BKM, Glad you popped in. We have been missing you. Hope things get settled with work. We're holding a spot for you on this wagon.
Sheann, Is the Dr going to get back with you when he does have time to go over his MRI & CT scan? I would think it would have to be some big time stress to cause seizures. I hope you don't have to wait another month to get the results. Did he give him any medicine to take to control them in the meantime? Thoughts & prayers flowing your way.
Rosalie, Are you close to goal? That could be the reason you aren't losing. You need to find some way to "jump-start" your body. Maybe someone with some fitness experience could help you.
Frog, Hi! Hurry and get that house finished. We miss you.
Red1, How heartbreaking for your DD. An e-mail? That's the coward's way out. My family moved back into my dad's house while our house was being built. Never again. Next time I'll get an apartment. I beleive that old saying, You can never go home again"!
Toni, It was cold here last nite to. Went out for my walk at 5:30 am and had to take a jacket. It's going to be nice today, but more rain, Sat, Sun & Mon. Yuk! I missed survivor last nite? Who go voted off?

Thank you all for your kiln encouragement. Today is the day when I get to fire my sweet baby for the first time.
I think that after that, I will pick out a name. MONET will understand, I'm sure. When so much of your happiness depends on those brick walls, you want to be on good terms.
EXERCISE - Went to the Rhythmic Dancing last night. IT was a lot of fun, but I felt rhythmically ******ed. Jump and kick and step and turn and which leg now? ANd oh, and o.k. and DAMN I lost it! OF course I am going back next week. It was still fun (and I was SORE! afterwards)
MONET - I'd love to see some of your work. Do you have any pictures?
RED - I am very sorry to hear about your DD. At least she has very supportive parents near by.
FROG - We still know you ! (and you are...? :^: )

Good Morning! I just have to share that the last two days I FEEL slimmer. I guess I can physical "see" a difference...the love handles have gone from mid-car size, to a compact....should be exciting to keep on going!
Sheann Yes...I have heard of anxiety causing all sorts of weird stuff, but this is the first time I've heard of a seizure...I will ask my boss-man at work....he is a brilliant Doctor who really knows just about everything! I sure hope that he put him on some MEDICATION! You have to understand that anxiety is a form of depression, and is a chemical imbalance in the brain, so he really should be on something! Did he discuss any medications with you? How old is Jason?
Rosalie That journalling is good stuff....you sound like me, in my mind I think I've done great...then when I look at my journal, I find "Geez, I didn't eat as many veggies as I thought" etc. Water is so important...this weekend when I have more time, I'm going to post something that was on the board a while ago, to help get everyone motivated to drink more of the good stuff! Snacking in the evning is trouble. I always remember what the book says about no eating after 8:00pm and try to stick with it...and I especially try not to have CARBS AT NIGHT!!! Trouble with a capital "T". Glad to here about all the exercising you've got going on, especially the swimming!
BKM You're talking to the Queen of stress eating...until Deb told me "Nance, you know what???????" and I said "What?" and she said "There is ALWAYS going to be something stressful in your life", and it really hit me, like hearing something for the first time....and she is right. It's an EXCUSE, an excuse I used to use OVER and OVER and OVER, and you have to break the cycle. You have to start taking care of you! Comfort foods feel good while going down, but how do you feel afterwards when you think about what you just inhaled? Horrible, right? The overwhelming guilt about feeling like someone who's out of control, and can't stick to being OP, and then you mentally start beating yourself up? It feels so much better to do the right thing....Just take it one day at a time, one meal at a time!{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}
Red1Sorry to hear about your daughter....that's horrible. She must really be hurting right now. How long have they been married. I know when my family found out that hubby #1 was cheating on me, my brothers were ready to break someone's knee caps, but it's only cause they are angry at their loved one being hurt. Anger doesn't change anything. I'll say some prayers for the broken hearted!
Toni Where about's in Orange County? I was born at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach! How did you end up in Missouri?
Well. time to get ready for work...sorry I didn't address everyone, I will later when there is more time. Have a great day!
gracious

Well hubby is gone now and won't be back til midnight on Wednesday. This will be the longest time we have been apart since we were married 13 years ago. I know for the wives of the military guys it is nothing, but it is a long time for me. I am looking on the bright side of it though, less cooking and less laundry!
Here is my Friday Funny:
One Sunday morning, the priest noticed that little
Anthony was staring up at the large plaque in the
foyer of the church. The plaque was covered with
names, and small American flags were mounted on either
side of it. The ten year old boy had been staring at
the plaque for some time, so the priest walked up,
stood beside the boy, and said quietly, "Good morning
Anthony."
"Good morning father," replied the young man,
still focused on the plaque, "Father Murphy, what is
this?" Anthony asked. "Well, son it's a memorial to
all the young men and women who died in the service."
Soberly they stood together, staring at the large
plaque. Little Anthony's voice was barely audible when he
asked, "Which service, the 9:00 or the 10:30?"

Good Friday Morning Everyone!
Wasn't able to get near the computer last night, both kids had to use it for school which, as you know, always takes presidence over my using the computer.
Woke up this morning, got dressed and took Michael to school, but I lack the energy and motivation to push myself out to walk today. I feel sooo tired, so drained and I don't know why-possibly the fact that TOM is due in the next day or two? I climbed back in bed all of a sudden, was cold, like it was winter, had goosebumps and everything! I found myself under the covers with my head UNDER my pillow, something I only do when I'm not feeling up to par - then I guess I must of passed out until my Dad called and woke me up around 9:45am-feeling tired now, and wondering what the heck just happened! :?:
I did feel great yesterday though, eating was right on track. Here's what I had yesterday:
8.3 Asian pear
3oz chicken breast
1oz onion/celery-chopped
.4oz lf mayo
1 sl SF bread
2 sf jello cups
4oz Whole Foods NS Spgti Sauce
.7oz Romano cheese
approx. 6-8oz zucchini (forgot to weigh)
8.8 oz Asian pear
1 c extra cal. milk
1 tsp carob powder
1 Aunt Gussies flat crackers
2.8oz cooked salmon
.1oz pinenuts
3oz chick peas
4oz lf cottage cheese
Not much in the way of veggies, but that's normal for me.
Speaking of veggies, I've mentioned this in the past, but will repeat it because I finally did it! When BOB & I first met GATOR, our first SB GET TOGETHER GATOR made some zucchini spgti, cutting it in such a way on her mandoline that it looked like spgti. I did it last night and blanched it quickly, threw on some sauce and cheese - it was wonderful! You'd not of known it wasn't spgti - actually thinking about doing that again today, it was sooo good.
If you happen to live near an BIG LOTS, I was there yesterday and they had the DROSTE 72% COCOA CHOCOLATE BARS for .99 cents a piece. I got a few, don't need them really, and had no good reason to buy what I did other than the price, which I believe is a good price - just wanted to pass that along. Went to the .99 cent store and found some dried fruits that have no sugars in them, thought they'd be food to add to some muffins if I should decide to make them, or have the kids snack on them-either one.
Considering it's Friday and FRIDAY FUNNIES are in order, and considering that there were a FEW PEOPLE on the board who thought it was yesterday, I thought this was a good FF to post (excuse the unintentional bad word):
A business man got on an elevator in a tall building. When he
entered the elevator, there was a blonde already inside and she greeted him by saying, "T-G-I-F"
He smiled at her and replied, "S-H-I-T."
She looked at him, puzzled, and said, "T-G-I-F" again.
He acknowledged her remark again by answering, "S-H-I-T."
The blonde was trying to be friendly, so she smiled her biggest
smile and said as sweetly as possibly, "T-G-I-F" another time.
The man smiled back to her and once again answers "S-H-I-T."
The blonde finally decided to explain things, and this time she
said, "T-G-I-F. It means "Thank Goodness It's Friday". Get it, duuhhh?"
The man answered, "S-H-I-T -- "Sorry, Honey, It's Thursday". Duuhh!!
Guess I better try to catch up on the posts before the day is shot...
COUNTRY, tomato and onion sandwich??? Raw??? Sorry, but can't you think of something better to think of dying for when it comes to food-that sure doesn't sound too delicious to me!!!!!;)
TRANQUIL, sorry to hear you've been feeling icky - hope you are doing better today. Well, at least after feeling so crapy you had a great loss on the scale, doesn't matter if it's fat or dookie, a loss is a loss!;) CONGRATS!!!
FRUIT, good to hear the Dr. visit went well, though there has to be a reason for the pain - maybe you should consider a second opinion??
BOB, aren't you sick of traveling? Geez, you'll find any reason to come down here-I don't come to the Dr. you threaten to come here - let's see if you are a woman of your word!!! I do have to go to the GYNO, I'm due-Dr. probably, dentist DEFINITELY! I broke a tooth in NC and haven't gone yet - I don't have the $$$ that I know won't be covered by insurance, so I wait... Hope you survive the weekend!
JENN, hope you got all that mess taken care of, how in the heck did it flood like that? Again, don't worry about Dan's mom, you be yourself and let her know that you aren't going to conform your ways just to please her-if you did, it wouldn't be you. Will Dan's son be living with you when you get married? Subway, I'd stay clear of it, they're breads aren't whole grain and without junk, I've asked. Yogurt, my suggestion is look for a good plain yogurt and add your own pureed fruit or extract along with a little sweetner - delicious! I like CASCADIAN or HORIZON,(WF has both down here) but there are some others out there. Just look to make sure there's not a ton of unnecessary crap in it before you buy it.
VES, I'm sure your one slip up won't be doing anything to you as long as you get right back on the wagon-you'll be just fine, don't fret over it. Wish I lived closer, I'd be going to those classes with you for sure!
JACKK, whatever you come up with, PLEASE make sure it's an easy idea!!!:) WOW, you jogged a little-good for you!!! I'm not only proud of you for that attempt, for pushing yourself out there when you didn't feel like it-wish I could say the same for myself today:(
QUIV, CONGRATS on the loss - you're whitteling away to nothing. You'll have to surely post a updated picture of yourself when you return from hot humid, I mean sunny Florida of you in your bikini;)
MONET, girl, I don't know how you can do it without the a/c-it has to be hot in your home, isn't it? Heck, it's bad enough for me to sleep with the a/c on, a fan, and still find myself with night sweats-couldn't imagine doing it without a/c. I'd be miserable!!!! And to think you are baking with no a/c either!!!!
BIGK, sorry to hear about your lapse, I can commeserate with you, had that happen to me last week. I'm sure you'll get back on track, you've been doing so well, you don't want to let that go to waste, not now. You know not only am I here for you, we all are !!!!
SHEANN, I just can't imagine that anxiety could do this to a person-it doesn't make sense to me as a lay person, but then, what the heck do I know. I hope you find some answers and quickly at that-please keep us informed.
ROSALIE, I know I made that NY RESOLUTION and it's one of those that I just couldn't keep, I don't even think I tried! Well, maybe after this coming weeks WIW I'll try, for a week, at least. Maybe I can find a happy medium, don't weigh if I'm totally 100% OP and do weigh more often if not-hmmm, somehow that just doesn't sound right. Any other ideas?? You mentioned doing the fitday for a couple weeks, what's been the average of your caloric intake? Why don't you send me your journal so I can take a gander and throw you my 2 cents.
RED1, sorry to hear what's transpired, what a way to do it, in an e-mail. I truly believe everything is destined and there's a reason for everything and I'm sure your DD will be just fine and have a wonderful life with someone who will love and appreciate her. She already has two wonderful parents who do, that's evident. Our thoughts and wishes are with you and DD & DGD, it will all work out, don't you worry.
TONI, did you have a dry eye during the Survivor challenge-I didn't!
NANCE, I love hearing that spark in your posts!!! I'm sure you're not only feeling lighter, you are looking lighter too!!!! {{HUGS}}
GRACIOUS, loved that FF!! Thanks!!! Enjoy this little break away from hubby, do something nice for yourself, go out, have fun with friends-planning on doing the same when ELI is gone in July!!!
Well, I've caught up, for now. I have a few things to get done today, considering it's already 10:30am and I haven't done anything but SLEEP!!
I'll check in later - computer will be all mine tonight!!!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Hey, Everyone, I am new to the diet and this board. I must first say that this is the easiest diet I have ever been on, the only thing that gets me down is the sweets. I have about 30 lbs. to lose and I just started last week and have already lost 7 lbs. Is this normal to lose this fast? I need some advice on the food items though because I have been reading alot of conflicting things. Can I or can I not eat pumperknickel and rye bread? That's what I have been eating about once a day and I am losing like crazy but another board said don't eat those because they don't have enough fiber. Also can anyone give me a salad dressing that I can have besides Italian flavored.
Thanks
Fillise

hey everyone! This will be quick as I have tons of work to do today. I just wanted to say hello and the let everyone know I'm thinking about you! It will probably be this way until the primary on June 4th.
Eating is going ok, TOM has been hanging on--ick. Also it has gotten hot here so that makes me retain some water for a while--must make sure to drink enough. Though I tend to lose more steadily in the summer than in the wineter--yeah!
Saw someone on the Today show yesterday talking about eating 40/30/30 and how that is the best way to lose weight. Reinforement is always good!
Have a good day everyone

Hey All:wave:
Thought I'd take a break. Still feeling drained, but getting some things done. Finally delivered my threat to Michael and cleaning out his drawers - my gawd that child just stuffs crap in them! I know he's going to be pist off at me, but who cares, it has to get done and he's not going to do it, besides, I found a check from back in January for $25 from my Aunt to him and then found $35 in an old birthday card from gawd knows when!!!! Oops, reminds me I have to run to the bank today as well! Anyhow, I took shoe boxes and just threw junk in there that I'll let him go through later - hopefully that will happen!
WELCOME TO THE BOARD!!!:D Glad you've decided to hop on and join us, new members are ALWAYS welcome!! Congratulations on not only choosing a very healthy WOE, but for doing so well so far. Yes, you can easily lose quite a bit the first week, which happens on most diets, as much of it could be water weight, but that being said, what's going to follow is losing fat, easily and effectively. This is a VERY easy WOE to follow and one you can live following the rest of your life-there's no reason to do otherwise. To answer your bread question, yes, you can eat not only rye and pumpernickle, but sourdough as well - BUT, it's how the bread is made that's important. There are tons of rye/pump/sd breads out there filled with refined products and no or little more nutritional value than there are in white breads - you have to be a savvy consumer and read those labels. If they are made with enriched flours they aren't going to be good for you, but if you find a HFS (health food store) or a bakery that bakes REAL bread, they probably would be just fine. Many pump breads are made with enriched white flours and just have colorings put into them to appear dark - same problem with bagels they sell. Pump bagels are made with one or more of the following for their coloring - chocolate, coffee, molasses. As long as it's whole grain and falls under the 3 grams of sugar rule, it will be okay. If you have a German Bakery wherever you live, that would be a good place to probably get some-or like I said, a HFS, I get RUDY'S SD BREAD there, but don't eat it too often due to it not having any fiber to speak of, and that the carbs are so darned high in it. Personally, I do try to go for breads that have more fiber in them-it always helps - I also like WW pita bread. There's a lot of salad dressings out there without sugars-like Marie's. Or, you can make your own. Also, just make sure you are eating enough-this is a very common problem, so just watch your intake. Lets us know whereabout you live-that may help help finding you some information of items in your area. Don't be afraid to ask questions-we are all more than happy to help throw out our 2 cents!!! Again, WELCOME!!!:D
FILLILSE, less than a month away til things settle down for you - I'm sure you'll be looking very forward to a good break after this is all over!
Okay, back to the grindstone!!

Hi everyone!
Well I've been having big problems with my ISP not working as it should. My connection has been anything but reliable lately. :( The last couple days my stomach has really been acting up, but I think it is finally starting to get back to normal. Yesterday I watched Ocean's Eleven, and today I just saw Hearts in Atlantis. Of course, I liked both of them :) I'm not too hard to please when it comes to movies. I RARELY watch tv anymore - the only exception would be Law and Order and the History Channel (my fav!!). Anyway, I have been OP and I'm down another pound so far. I'm still having trouble with getting a workout routine going. Starting is so hard for me!! Just cant get motivated to stick with it for some reason. This may sound dumb, but I can't even visualize the day of reaching my goal. I have trouble picturing a day when I can say to myself, "you are fine now and dont need to lose any more." I was thinking abut this yesterday for a while. Practically all of my life I have needed to lose some weight. I can't imagine a time when I'm not heavy! I can't relate cause I've never been at that point (since I was very small) When I finally hit my goal weight will I be happy, or will I think I still need to lose more? I dunno... Im approaching 40 pounds gone but sometimes I think, man, you still have so much to do! Ugh.... I think too much lol! Anyway.... I'd better get going. Take care everyone!
Tranquil

Hello Sbers! I have been out of work for 3 days with the nastiest bug, but on the mend! I actually have kept food in system today, and am capable of sitting here and reading posts for longer than 5 minutes time! YEAH!!! Morphing back into my old human self… well not quite since of course, GOOD TIMING _ NOT!!!! - TOM showed up with a vengeance today! Thanks for the well wishes too.
Monet – Sorry I never had the chance to say something about the Masterpiece Pig Cake – loved it – showed it to Gram and friend and they went nuts over your talent!!! :)
Deb – Hope you go see the doctor just to make sure you are okay!!
Nance – Sorry I have taken so long to answer your question about my son, he is 11 yrs old, and his birthday is in November, a turkey baby, or Bird Boy ;) By the way – Congrats on that great loss!!!!
Fruit – what a fantastic WIW you had!!! Congrats!!!!!!!! :D
Toni – Hope the doctor gave you the thumbs up and a high five for the weight loss! :)
Jack-K – Great news of the 2 lbs!!! WTG!!! I hope the doctor is able to find a solution to your daughter’s discomfort! I have had a history of very small cysts on my right ovary, and they have cleared up on their own…sonogram showed it when I was complaining one visit…but the follow ups show they are always gone…just painful for a week, then I am fine…
Vesna – Sounds like you are having a ball with the gym! That is the best! Good going on your weigh in! :)
Kimmy – WOW 110 SIT UPS!!! That is great!!! Love those shows, the Osbournes – I need to see reruns to catch up on the very first episodes I missed…. Was glad that they voted General off, I cried when they all got to see their loved ones, now I am wondering who is next…..
Daramus – Congrats on your loss!
Red1 – Hope home is settling for you!
Fillise – what a great and interesting career!!! Hope you see a good loss when TOM is gone!
Jenn – Hope things get better between you and FMIL …
Beth – I have that flab thing going on too ….and I know all about those ingrown hair pains too! It was better for a little while when I was walking and toning up my legs – but now I am starting back at beginner’s level since I jumped off that wagon last winter :(
Adrons – WTG on the loss!!!!
Music – Hope you are feeling better and that next WIW is good to you!
Gator – My poor, poor yard and flowers – they all look so pitiful with this no rain and heat too….I just wish it would end soon before we are waking up to those awful smoky days of the past few years! Seems like soon we will be living in the desert and not the tropics!
HeartMom – Next week will be better!!!!
Gracious – WTG on your so close to your all time low!!!
Quiv – that is so wonderful about your loss!!! Keep up the good work!!!
BKM – Find that wagon and hop back on!!!
Sheann – Keep on moving along with more doctors – and better answers!!! {{Hugs}}
Ddrummer – Welcome!!!
Well, I am now pooped out :s: - hahaha - and must head back to bed... I am bored to tears - I have the most gorgeous manicure - so I guess I can start on a pedicure now! Cannot think of anything else to do being stuck in the house with no strength! Stir Crazy!!!!

Howdy Folks!
Sheann I spoke to my Doctor and he said that anxiety can't cause the seizures...there's an underlying reason WHY the seizures are occuring, and they can't always find out what it's stemming from, but all the other symptoms are anxiety related.
Gracious Since your Mr. is gone, this is the time to get yourself to Victoria's Secret and plan a romantic night for hius return. I never fair well when my Mr. is gone either....I get completely love sick, so you're not alone!
Deb What kind of cooties do you got going on???? You sound like you are trying to come down with something. I know ALL ABOUT Droste from Trader Joe's. When I'm having a major chocolate craving I eat one pastille and I'm set.
Drummer Welcome! I usually make my own balsamic vinegar and olive oil dressing with some dried sage and everyone loves it.
Daramus I can understand where you are coming from with the visualization, but remember it's not your destiny, it's the journey. It takes a while to loose the weight, so sometimes it's hard to imagine what you'll look like, but think about the here and now and doing the best job you can each day staying on plan, and start exercising...it will come off faster!
Tranquil Glad to hear you are feeling better! My B-day is in November on the 27th...what day was your son born? Sometimes, rarely, my B-day falls on Thaksgiving, and I don't like it, because everyone one wants pumpkin pie, not chocolate cake!
WELL, TIME TO GET BACK TO WORK!!! ugh!!! 2 1/2 MORE HOURS!

Hi Gang,
Posting my notes before I head for home. Man has this been a long day.
Note on my DD, she had the ultrasound today and they didn't find a cyst. I don't know if that is good or bad news. So I guess we will find out Wed about the endometrosis.
Vesnoid, Your exercises sound like fun. You really have a lot of variety. that is good. Keep up the good work.
Kimmy, Thanks
Nance, what a good feeling!. You are going to be that Goddess! There's not any better motivation. Keep on going down.
Graious, I'm with you on buggy being gone. I hate it. Mine goes to Canada for 10 days in Oct every year duck hunting. I'm miserable the whole time. I don't know how soemof these girls do it either. It is especially ahrder now that the kids are grown and doing their own thing. I get lonely.
Deb, I think you should seriously consider going to the Dr. You ain't right!. You could be anemic. Do you take vitamins?
Drummergirl, Welcome. This is a great board for support. Look forward to getting to know you. You can have ranch, blue cheese or any dressing with 3 or less grams of sugar. I eat blue cheese all the time. I know it is full of fat, but it works for me. I lost 8 pounds my first week. That's what kept me going. I lose on an average of 2 per week, but I had 110 to lose. That makes a difference. As far as the bread goes, stone ground whole wheat is best. I eat pumpernickel if I have to eat out. Can't have the word enriched in it.
Fillise, Hi. Come back when you not so busy. Stay OP
Daramus, Congrats on the pound loss. Your'e not alone. I don't think anyone will ever think they are thin enough. Once you have been heavy it is hard to see yourself thin. You have done great with losing 30 pounds. How much more do you want to lose? I think you are to be commended for hanging in there with a bunch of cackling women LOL. You will get there one day soon and you will look great.
Tranquil, glad to hear you are finally feeling better. I swear it is strange that several people on the board can be sick with the same thing at the same time. I know we can't be passing it on. LOL. My DD went for the ultrasound today and did not find a cyst. I don't know if that is good news or not. So I guess she could have the endometrosis. We will find out Wed. Get better.
Have a great weekend everyone and in case I don't get back on during the weekend, Happy Mother's Day to all mothers, mothers to be, and want to be mothers and anyone else, because you have probably "mothered" someone at some time. Have a nice day for "you".:)

Good afternoon or evening everyone. Almost my fruit time. LOL so I'll post a bit before then...
Jack-K-I hope it goes well Wed. Could the cyst have disolved itself?
Hope you have a great Mother's Day too... You sure did good to walk this morning. And it will sure help... They voted the general off or Rob.
Nancemeister-Well your week is just about up. Hope you have a great week-end...I got a kick out of your love handles. It feels so good to see a difference. I've been measureing myself once a month now and love it.. I was raised in Anaheim. My Dad was on recrudeing duty for the Navy there and then worked at Disneyland for years. My Mother was from here and her family was still here so she retired in Missouri and I followed. She actually ended up going back out to Calif. right before she passed away so I was back out there with her and met my second husband. We came back here on vacation and he fell in love with the Ozarks. So here I am...
Kimmy-Thanks for the web site I'm on my way as soon as I finish here...
Tranquil-Sorry you've had a bug and I hope you get over it durning the week-end and feel better on Monday...
Daramus-Sorry you haven't been doing well with the stomach.... But congradulations on another pound down!!! I have trouble to getting an exercise routine down. I do walk on my treadmill but really have to make myself do that. Hopeing maybe next week I'll start on one. Its to overwhellming for me to look at how much I have to lose so I have to just set little goals for myself and know I'm going to get there one day... You've lost an awful lot if you don't think so just pick up four big sacks of potatoes next time you're in the market....
Debilli-Ut oh cleaning out the drawers can sure get you into trouble. And to find loot to boot!!! What kind of sourdough bread is legal? I'd love to have some for a change. Hope you're feeling better soon...No I bawled through half of survivor. I thought it was so good....
Fillise-Sounds like you're busy busy....
DDrummergirl-WELCOME!!! This is a great board. And they can sure give you lots of tips. You're doing great.....
Well guess I'll go now. Hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day week-end...

Hey All:wave:
House is messy, but quiet. You'd think that with me not working and the kids in school all day my house would be immaculate - uh huh, nope:nono: I'd like it to be, but I just don't have the desire to find places to put all my crap - that is, unless I'm having a party and that's not going to happen for a long time, or, if someone on the board comes to visit - any plans gals???
Made my zucchini spgti again tonight for dinner-delicious!!!
DARAMUS, CONGRATS, another pound down, that's great news! Do you have ANY ideas on what type of exercise you'd like to do? Maybe if you can find different avenues and see if a place will allow you to pay for one class, just to see if you like it, that may be a good thing to try. For instance, there's a place near me that has spinning classes, that's all they do and you can go for just one class, if you like it, then you can join up for more classes, if not, you only paid $10 to know you don't like it. As for your thoughts of getting down to a safe weight, I know how you feel and it's all in the mind. Here I am, at the right weight for my height and frame, but I hate the body I'm dragging around. Be thankful you are young and doing this, not like I am, with saggy skin all over-being young does have it's advantages and I'm sure as you get closer to goal you'll be looking great and loving the way you look.
TRANQUIL, glad to hear you're moving yourself into normal range again! I'm sure feeling like you did was not the highlight of your week. Just make sure you keep up your strength and eat, don't need a replapse from being undernourished, you know;)
KIMMY, thank goodness I don't have neighbors like that!!!!
NANCE, I'm hoping no cooties for me, just maybe TOM wrecking havoc on my system. The DROSTE I got are the bars, not the pastilles, but I have a slew of those in my stash as well;) What's you plans for this weekend, my dear??
JACKK, like you said, that seems to be good news about DD, but then again, what else may they find? Seems that your DD isn't finding the problems, SHEANN'S son, can't find out what's going on there and same with FRUIT and her problems -oy vey! I hope everyone gets the right answers quick-it would drive me nuts - hmmm, maybe that's why I don't go to the Dr!! Vitamins, well, I do have them, but no, I don't take them:shrug:
TONI, oh, I'm sure when Michael gets home he'll be pist and happy at the same time. I also found a couple gift cards in the mess! I put stuff in shoe boxes and will line them up on the floor and let him go through them as he can find time. I'm not tackling his clothing drawers YET, but may have to do it some time soon-it's gotten away from him and I don't see where he's going to be able to do it any time soon. Too bad if he doesn't like it!!!
Okay, back to my dinner, just wanted to take a break and catch up on the board.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and for those of you who celebrate MOTHER'S DAY I hope you enjoy the day with your kids and/or along with you Mom's!!:D Me, I'll be happy if my kids remember!!!

Where can I find agave? I went to the grocery store and super Walmart, and couldn't find any. I wanted to make the lemon cheesecake cups. So I bought the fructose sweetner instead. I don't know how much to use, though? The recipe calls for 1/2 cup of agave.:?:

I've tried every where to. The internet, the health food stores etc. Would love to have some. The health food store has tried to order it every week but no luck. Doesn't any place have any left... :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

HEART, SUPER WALMAR??? Nope, they wouldn't have it. If any of the HFS in your area want to try and get it tell them to look for the SWEET CACTUS FARMS brand. Sorry, can't help you out with the difference of agave.:(
TONI, I could always order you a case and ship it, but the shipping is the killer on one case of it-two cases would be better, as far as shipping goes, but otherwise, I'd try to order it and get it from a larger city nearby if possible.
You can order some agave from SWEET CACTUS FARMS directly, though I haven't a clue what the cost is going to be. You can reach them at 310-838-9431. Let me know if anyone gives them a try and what they find out. There are a few other sites on the web you can order, but I'd try them first, go to the source.
GOOD LUCK!:D

I had a wonderful night. I went out with a friend and we hit the movies to see Spiderman. I thought it was awesome. I was sad that they didn't use the old theme song from the television cartoon that we used to watch when we were kids. Hubby will see it with one of his friends when he is in Ontario so it was good that I could go tonight. I was dreaming about popcorn but instead I ate a small snack sized bag of cashews and had a diet coke.
I got some neat die cut scrapbook shapes, papers and coloured pencils to use tomorrow with my daughter. We have a scrapbooking session scheduled for just us girls in the afternoon and we are looking forward to it.
We have a community ladies meeting tomorrow from 11 am to 1pm that the other church in our town hosts. I like going to things where I am not the one who planned it for a change! It is an annual thing and was fun last year so I am sure it will be great this year too. Lunch will be high carb no doubt, but I will do my best.
Oooo..I also got invited out with my 3 kids to a Sunday Buffet after church for Mother's Day. I thought that was so sweet because we are missing my hubby and at least it will seem more like Mother's Day to be out together with the kids. My Mom lives in Ontario so I obviously can't take her out! I am keeping busy with hubby gone, that is for sure.
KIMMY- I am looking forward to reading that website. I took a quick glance to see what it was about and knowing it is about rednecks, I know I will get a lot of laughs from it!
DARAMUS- You have done awesome. Keep up the good work. We have recently been talking about how our heads are messed up even when we lose the weight. Sometimes I think that is a bigger challenge than actually losing the weight!
JACK-K- You mean your hubby comes up here and kills all our poor Canadian ducks every fall? ;) Where does he visit when in Canada?
NANCE- Good idea...I have a few *cute* outfits tucked away just waiting for those last 10 lbs to be lost. But let's face it....my hubby would take me in flannel and still think I am sexy! :o He is wonderful that way. :D
DRUMMERGIRL- Welcome to the board. This is a great place!
Okay...I have my 6 year old son and 8 year old daughter in my bed so it should be all warmed up for me now. The wee 3 year old is snug in his own lil bed for the night but I know I will see him around 6 am tomorrow...better get some shuteye because I know hubby won't be getting up to feed them!

Good Evening!
Finally....home from work...kids taken care of, dinner made....and now it's MY TIME!!! Rented a vidoe tonight and plan on kick'in back!
Jack-k How long have you lived in Kentucky? I bet it's beautiful there! I take it you must live in the city? I picture it as rolling green hills with horses grazing with a light mist in the air.
Toni My husband is from Kansas...Kansas City, his parents live in Merriam. He always tells me about this town called McClouth where one of his aunts live, and I've got to see this place when I get back there! Says there are still wooden sidewalks and an old fashioned ice cream palour, etc. I keep telling him that I want to move to the country, have chickens, and bake apple pies and grow a garden. Every time we see a show on a different state I say "How about.....?" and I get to hear the pluses and minuses in his mind.
Deb Weekend plans are SCRAPBOOKING over at my girlfriends house from 10-4 tomorrow, and Suday taking Mom on a picnic someplace cool...a 1 1/2 hour drive to a place called Forest Falls.
Heartmom I get my agave nectar from the Health Food Store....I can ship a bottle ot two if you need some...just let me know!
Gracious I'm a Scrap-a-holic! Have fun...it's a great thing to do with family! Even my son has done it with me, but he'd probably never tell any of his friends!
o.k....my bed is begging me to lay on it! Will catch up in the morning! Nighty-nite!

DRUMMERGIRL- Welcome to the board. This is a great place!
DEB: Your zucchini spaghetti sounds delicious. I will definitely have to try this one.
JACK-K: Hope all goes well on Wed.
DARAMUS: Congrats on the pound loss.
TRANQUIL: Glad to hear you are finally feeling better. I feel like I'm coming down with something now too.
It sounds like many of you had great losses on WIW. I did not weigh. I totally forgot so I'll wait until next WIW.
Nance: Thank you for talking to your Doctor. I finally got Jason to talk to me and he admitted that he was under a lot of stress. I talked him into councelling and his Doctor is going to get to the bottom of the MRIs to ease Jasons mind. He seems to be doing better the last couple of days. Still has seizure meds and sometimes seizures. May have to change his medication. They are not sure yet.
Thank you everyone for your prayers for Jason. You are all truely friends.
Everyone have a great weekend and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all of you Mothers.

Hi Everyone
I was going to say Good Evening then realised it is after midnight already. I was feeling very tired after work to-day so decided to have a snooze after supper. I only slept for about an hour but it will probably be a another hour or two before I can get back to sleep again. This is the first time I am able to get on the computer this evening as my son has been upgrading and re-installing everything for me. It's good to have a resident computer expert. :). I made some hummus last night but used chana dal instead of chick peas and it was very yummy. I took some to work to-day and a couple of the gals were raving over it. I'd had the recipe for quite a while but this was the first time I had made it.
Two of my grandkids are playing soccer to-morrow so I will probably go out and watch a couple of the games as long as it doesn't rain. Sunday I will be going to my son and dil's place for dinner.
Heartmom - I used fructose in baking before I got the agave. It is sweeter than sugar - you would need about 2/3 cup fructose for 1 cup of sugar called for in the recipe. I would think the same ratio would work if you are substituting it for the agave. I would suggest trying 1/3 cup for the lemon cheesecake cups.
Deb - You sound like me with the vitamin pills. I have some in my cupboard, including calcium pills and most of the time I forget or can't be bothered to take them. I went to take a calcium pill yesterday and noticed they were out of date and I still have 3/4 of a bottle left. I have to echo what others have said - when are you going to see a doctor to find out why you are feeling so tired and drained? You could be anaemic. It sounds like you at least need to go and get your blood checked. My calorie intake is usually in the 1600-1800 range. I will e-mail you with the link to my Fitday journal so you can have a look at it and tell me what you think. I haven't had a chance to fill in any for to-day yet - may skip to-day as I had home made pizza tonite and haven't got the patience to figure out the calories. That FF was very appropriate for this week :)
Ddrummergirl - Welcome to the board. I see you have made a good start, losing 7 pounds in one week. It is not unusual to lose fast in the beginning - some of that will be water loss. A good loss would be about 1 1/2 to 2 pounds a week once you are settled into the woe.
Gracious - That was a cute Friday Funny.
Nance - It's very hard not to snack sometimes at night, particularly if I am working late. But I do TRY to avoid carbs at night. Lately I have been snacking more on peanuts. Glad to hear your love handles are getting more compact
Monet -That's a heck of a lot of baking you are doing. I hope you have some help with the dishes. For me that is always the worst part, not that I would ever be making a couple hundred of anything. That was a great cake you made for the groom. I planted three types of roses. Two are shrub roses called Bonica. These were recommended to me by Zanne, who lives near me and has had good results with this kind. Another one is called Charisma and is a floribunda. The last one is a patio rose called House Beautiful. I don't know how successful I will be with these. They are all supposed to be hardy and disease resistant. Last year some plants I had in the same flower bed didn't do too well but I have added some new soil and also put some triple mix and bone meal in the hole according to directions so just have to wait and see. I may put some more down in the front garden as well but I am waiting to get my front porch fixed so don't want to do anything there until that is finished . Also I have quite a few tulips which are still flowering. When they are gone I will have to think about what else to put there. The last time I was at the doctor's was last September when I had blood work done but I never had a thyroid test. The next time I go I will try to remember to ask him to check it if I am still not losing.
Well, I am off to settle into bed with a book and hope it makes me sleepy.
Have a good weekend everyone.
Marie.

Kimmy- I would definitely NOT let my son see Spiderman. He is 6 years old and would love to see it too. The thing is, it is fine for adults but I think there is way too much violence in it for a child the ages of our children. The Goblin a.k.a the bad guy of the movie, is very evil looking, sounding and acting. They also take the name of the Lord in vain a number of times which of course I despise and throw in some profanity, although not as much as one would suspect they would.
Mind you, having said all of that, I did like it! Of course that is just my personal opinion since you asked for it. ;)

Good Morning!
How's everyone? I just skimmed the posts - thanks for all of the well wishes! I've been feeling better the last couple of days so hopefully whatever the pain was - is leaving!
We went to our daqueri bar hang out last night - don't worry - I was good! The most exciting part was everyone mentioning how good I was looking! A friend walked in and he was like "Missy, are you losing weight?" Talk about fired up!:D
Today we are heading to Bourbon Street in New Orleans! WOO HOO! That is always fun! I'm sure I will partake in some alcoholic beverages but I will not have White Russians! Probably Jack Daniels and diet 7-up - which I don't really like - I like the real stuff! Oh well, we'll see what happens! I'm sure it won't take much to get me tipsy - I haven't had drinks in so long! After playing in the Quarter today, we are heading out to watch my friends - they are playing at a bar in the city. So, I'm sure the entire day will be a blast!
JENN in MN: I know that the SB QUEEN DEB said that the bread is not good at Subway but I eat there a lot too. I figure - it's got to be better than a whopper and fries! Since we are on the go a lot I do have Subway as a meal quite often.
VES: I've got a visual of you in that dance class! HILARIOUS! After a couple of tries I'm sure you will look like an expert!
DEB: You have got to get to that doctor. I'm with BOB on that one - get there or I'm coming over too to kick your butt!!!
OK - I'll report in tomorrow! I'll try not to be too bad today!
Love y'all!

Good morning! This is gonna be short because I can hardly type with these new nails...LOL My girlfriend and I were playing last night and they are a tad too long still. :) I am a tad excited...I am offically under 150...my May goal.
Rosalie--Hope you are enjoying those grand kids this morning. It's so hot here I avoid the outside like the plague..But soccer games sounds fun. I can hear you rooting them on from here. :)
Fruit....have fun in New Orleans. I would love to visit there some day.
Sheann..I'm glad the doctor is still looking at the test and trying to find answers. Praying the stress and stuff ease up so Jason can get stronger with hopefully less attacks. I would think the seisures alone would cause great anxiety.
Deb....hope you are having a better day than you have been having. Full of energy and good health.
Nance...You are doing so good. You jumped back on the wagon and are a true inspirtation not to give up.
Trish...hey sweet lady..how are you doing? Hope things are working out with your son's math.
Gracious...thanks on the info about spiderman. I watch very few moves but the kids want to see them all.
Ves....so are you loving your new kiln? All your different exercise stuff sounds so fun. And varied...that must help a lot with not getting to routine or boring.
Hey I'm doing pretty good with this typing thing...LOL I use to type around 60 wpm..I might be hitting 10 this morning...okay 20..LOL
Congratuations to this weeks losers..and those who are keeping on keeping on. And hugs to those who are struggling.

Good Morning...
Thanks for all your kind thoughts and prayers. I will need them. We are going to Palmdal today to move some brick that my grandfather made to use in our backyard. We didn't want to have someone haul it away and it not be kept in the family. It will be a long day and I won't be on the board tomorrow either.
We went to a dance recital last night for one of the local dance studios. It was so cute watching the little ones do their tap and ballet. Our friends daughter (4) was in it as well as the studio owner/director is a close friend of mine. I can't wait until my DGD is old enough to start dancing.
I want to wish all the mother HAPPY MOTHER DAY!!!
Got to go get ready.

Well HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all of you Mom's! and those without kids, Happy Weekend!!!! I am starting to feel human enough that I am going to the HFS and use my birthday gift certificate to get some yummies and look for that Agave.
I also have to find some new shoes for DS - he is now in a men's size 6 and I am having a hard time finding any stores with that stocked. Oh well, perseverence will pay out sooner or later!
Have a good weekend all, Sabrina - and be good!

hi guys
this week was great,
i had a great sb monday, tuesday-fiday i did the stillman diet(lean protein only), and today and sunday i will be sbing.
the stillman diet is basically lean meat, cottage cheese, farmers cheese(FAT FREE) etc...NO VEGGIES lots of water.I tried it once before i got down to 164, i gained the weight back, because i did not WATCH MY SELF. I USUALLY lose 1 pound a day, so i am giving this 2 months to get down the last 20 pounds.
i've lost 6 pounds.....i am happy. half of that is tom(which i am still suffering), the other half is cheats.
i plan to do stillman and excercise during the week and sb on weekends.......i am really going to give it a last try........my FIRST goal is 155pounds, SECOND IS 150, AND THEN ANYTHING BELOW 150......OH WELL!!
HOPE TO SEE 164 AGAIN
today i am adding sf icecream, and loosing the cottage cheese for next weeks stillman days, i read the ingredients and it says less than 2% modified starch, and that is a nononon on that diet. the lean meat only diet, is hard for 2-3 days after that it's smooth sailing. i bought a sf,1 g fat soy protein shake wich i will use next week. so i should be 16o-something by next saturday!CAN'T WAIT!

Good Morning! Hope everyone is happy that the weekend is hear. I know I am! Had some fun happen at 2:30am. in front of our house with I assume a drunk driver who hit the curb and a cop who pulled her over...the dogs wouldn't stop barking, and my whole family was AWAKE spying out the window to see what the deal was! Other than that..I'm off to a good start, I have my Starbucks to wake me up! AND......the Nancemeister is DOWN ANOTHER POUND!!!!!! YIPEE!!! I am so EXCITED when I see the scale move and I'm supposed to have TOM today and I still am LOOSING!!!!! It's interesting that I had a weight gain when ovulating though (REAL SORRY DARAMUS IF YOU ARE READING THIS:o )...gotta talk shop with the girls though and compare notes! Anyone else observe this?
Sheann Just remember that sometimes a explanation (ie. and MRI or CAT Scan/blood work) doesn't always provide a "reason" why the seizures are occuring, it's one of those frustrating things in medicine. I'm so glad your son opened up to you and revealed his feelings...that's half the battle. I'm sure things will gradually improve from here on out!{{{{HUGS}}}}}}
Rosalie I hope you are going to post the hummus recipe. The one I have always seems to taste to lemony...Deb knows how to make it good though! What are you doing for Mother's Day?
Fruit Take me with you!!! I wanna go! Better a whiskey than one of those fritters! Have a great time! Write us back with ALL the details...and of course BRING THE CAMERA to share with your cyber friends!
CountryMom Congrats on making your May goal! Way to go girl! I was laughing about the nails...only cause I've tried them myself, and just can't function. Doing dishes and gardening, just doesn't work out for me, but I love the way they look!
Red1 Don't forget your sunscreen while working on the brick project! Sounds like a lot of work, but will be rewarding. Preserving family goods is always worth the effort!
Tranquil My son is wearing size 12 mens!!!, and he's only in 8th grade! HELP!!!! Glad you are getting back to feeling better. When you have enough energy to go shopping, we know you are recovered from your cooties!
Dan the Man is bugging me to get off line...we are talking the dogs over to the "dog park"...talk about entertainment! After that going over to a friends to do scrapbooking! Will check in later. Hope everyone has a great day! Love to all!

HiedieHo All!!!!
I have been soooo busy and when not busy tired! So I rest, trying to pace myself. This past week has been meetings, minutes and report writng, shopping, nursing home, I haven't been going to the gym but have been swimming and exercises in the pool each day. It is so relaxing.
So I have been lurking but haven't had time to post. I want to get cleaning here, but GD was still asleep and didn't want to run vacuum outside her door! (We share the upstairs).
Because it's Mother's Day tomorrow and because a few of us are of a certain age, I thought I would post this joke. Hope it works!
I've seen two shows lately that went on and on about how mid-life is a great time for women. Just last week Oprah had a whole show on how great menopause will be....
Puhleeeeeeeze!
I've had a few thoughts of my own and would like to share them with you. Whether you are pushing 40, 50, 60 (or maybe even just pushing your luck) you'll probably relate.
Mid-life is when the growth of hair on our legs slows down. This gives us plenty of time to care for our newly acquired mustache.
In mid-life women no longer have upper arms, we have wingspans. We are no longer women in sleeveless shirts,
we are flying squirrels in drag.
Mid-life is when you can stand naked in front of a mirror and you can see your rear without turning around.
Mid-life is when you go for a mammogram and you realize that this is the only time someone will ask you to appear topless.
Mid-life is when you want to grab every firm young lovely in a tube top and scream, "Listen honey, even the Roman empire fell
and those will too."
Mid-life brings wisdom to know that life throws us curves and
we're sitting on our biggest ones.
Mid-life is when you look at your-know-it-all, beeper-wearing teenager and think: "For this I have stretch marks?"
In mid-life your memory starts to go. In fact the only thing we can retain is water.
Mid-life means that your Body By Jake now includes Legs By Rand McNally -- more red and blue lines than an accurately scaled map of Wisconsin.
Mid-life means that you become more reflective... You start pondering the "big" questions. What is life? Why am I here?
How much Healthy Choice ice cream can I eat before it's no longer a healthy choice?
But mid-life also brings with it an appreciation for what is important.
We realize that breasts sag, hips expand and chins double, but our loved ones make the journey worthwhile. Would any of you trade the knowledge that you have now for the body you had way back when?
Maybe our bodies simply have to expand to hold all the wisdom and love we've acquired.
That's my philosophy and I'm sticking to it!**
REMEMBER: "Stressed" spelled backward is "desserts.
"Send this to four women* and you will lose two pounds. Send this to all the women you know (or ever knew), and you will lose 10 pounds. If you delete this message, you will gain 10 pounds immediately.(That's why I had to pass this on-I didn't want to risk it! :)
The text worked but not the pics. Too bad they are cute.
Maybe next week will be more normal. I have kept OP.
Take care, sef

Whatever bug is going around, I think I caught it. I feel wretched. I am hungry, but nauseaous! I was supposed to go to the grocery store, since there is nothing to eat in the house, but I honestly don't feel up to it. Everyone is whining... I guess I will try a short nap then see if I can at least get some bread.
NANCE & TRANQUIL: Don't worry about the big feet! My son went from a men's size 8 to a 14 in less than two months when he was in seventh grade. I thought we were going to be driving downtown to the special shoe store the pro basketball players buy their shoes at, but thankfully, his feet stopped growing at about a 15 soon after. The doctor told me the feet are the first to grow, and the first to stop growing, I guess to keep them balanced for the increase in height! (My son is now 6'4" )
ROSALIE: Bonica is a great rose! I have heard of Charisma too. I love the easy care, disease resistant ones! My best is New Dawn, which is an old garden rose climber. It is poised to eat my yard tho! It really has gotten huge and has about 1000 buds and blooms on it. The spring flush is the prettiest on it, and in full swing right now. I need to spray all the others...I have about 70.
I really wanted to post to everyone individually, but I have to go lay down for a while.
Hope everyone has a great weekend, and to the mothers, happy Mother's Day!

Hello!
Wanted to say hello to everyone and congrats to all the losers!
I had my first hummingbirds today! Belle is gonna love watching them though the windows! I need to go to Columbus to Petsmart to try to find her a perch. I had to put her boxes away for the party last weekend and promised her I'd buy her another place to watch the birds and squirrels. Right now she is having a blast playing with the plastic ring off a milk jug! The other morning I woke up and found that she brought the feather duster to bed with us.
Food is going ok--I've eaten out more than I would like this week--but that's gonna happen more and more the next three weeks. I find the real key is to have a good breakfast and then I'm not so tempted to blow it at lunch and dinner.
I hope all the moms have a great Mother's day tomorrow!

Hi Everyone
Nance - I just posted the Chana Hummus recipe. It really is not much different to Debs recipe except you have to cook the chana dal. Seasonings are always a personal choice. I'll be going to my son's tomorrow for Mother's Day dinner.
I was out watching one of my gs's soccer games this morning then we came back here for lunch. My daughter has just left to take him to another game and I will be heading out soon to do some grocery shopping. His older brother has a game again at 4 p.m. I might get out to see that one. They are all coming back here for dinner. It'll be an easy one as I have a couple of dishes of homemade ww lasagna in the freezer. Just have to remember to take it out before I leave. Have to pick up some fruit and salad stuff.
Fillise - Sounds like Belle is a fun kitty to have around. Thank heavens it was only a dust mop she brought to bed. It could have been worse!
Monet - Sorry to hear you are not so well this morning. Hope you'll be feeling better soon. It's strange how we can be so nauseous and hungry too. Happens to me occasionally.
Sef - Glad to hear you are able to fit swimming into your busy schedule. I find it the best exercise if I am tired and achy.
Gotta run.
Bye for now.
Marie.

AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!!! :p
Not a good day at BOB'S house. Last night the air conditioner motor went out! House was still cool so sleep was not a problem. Called this morning for them to come out and service. $$$$$$$$$$$$$ Had to buy a new system!!! To the tune of $5000  They were able to get this one running and hopefully will last until Wednesday when they come to put in the new one.
THEN my VCR died...had to go buy a new one of those!
Four days of cleaning I had planned...I'm down to one...:(
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend...
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO YOU ALL!!!!!

Debilli- Thank you for the agave number. I left a name to be called back... I'm so anxious to try some....Now if you'll tell me about the the deal with the sour bread, I'll quit asking for a while but no promises...
Bob- My gosh have you had a day of it.... OOOO eeeee... Nice Mothers Day week-end for you. Its the first one I've heard of where the Mother gets a new air cond. unit. But I live in Missouri so it would be a really big deal to me.....
Heartmom- We'll get it yet..... I called the farm... LOL.. I'm bound and determined. I eat no sugar or artifical sweetner so I'm kind of desparate to have something. I tried Stevia and I just don't like it.
Rosalie-I'll have to go look in recipes. I'm kind of ashamed I love to cook and can find nothing to post there. I go grocery shopping Monday so can get a few things I want to try. Wow lasagna sounds great. I saw some spinach lasagna noodles at the health food store and might try some of those.
Fillise-I love hummingbirds to and need to get my stands up for my feeders. Your kitty sounds adorable. I love the feather duster!!
Monet-I'm sorry you're under the weather.. Hope you feel better soon. Go and take care of yourself!!!
Sef- Its good you're exerciseing in the pool, thats got to help with stress too. Loved the joke.. Yikes it needs passed on....
CountryMom-Thanks for the web site I'll try it... I love to get fingernails put on but just right now I don't have them. Yea for you and your May goal....
Nancemeister-Oh my gosh your family sounds like mine. We peek out the window to see whats going on. Yea for another pound. You're sure doing the good thing!!!
Lowco-Congrads on your weight loss. I hope doing both diets work for you. But they what you lose on you have to stay on to maintain your weight. I know thats what messes me up.
Tranquil-Glad you're starting to feel better. Hope you get some yummies at the HFS
Fruitloupe-Sounds like you're having a great week-end. I would love to go to New Orleans again. I haven't been in a couple of years...
Red1-Hope you have a great day with that brick laying and don't get to tired...
Everyone have a great Mothers Day......

Kinda bummed. Went to the ladies luncheon and ate the lunch they served which included a small serving of potato salad. I also had about 3 tbsps worth of regular cheesecake. Oh..they had little bottles of m&m's on the tables marked *Stress Pills*...I was bent out of shape over something while there and ate a bottle of *stress pills*. Now I am on a bummer. Not from eating that stuff because it wasn't the worst I could have done...but for the reason that stressed me out in the first place. I even called hubby in Ontario to bawl my eyes out over it....at least it felt a little better after that!
I read about BOB and her air conditioning going out. Here I am with the wind howling and my hair practically blowing as I sit before the computer. Some might recall that we heat by wood. Well....hubby is the fire maker in this family and I watch, if you know what I mean. I thought I might get away without having to make a fire while he was gone but it turned chilly again. So I get a bright idea and headed out to the store this afternoon and buy myself a couple of those *fire logs*. You know, those synthetic things you sit in the fireplace and just light the package then POOF! It worked! I am a genius. I have just piled in more logs and it is toasty now.
Monet- Sorry to hear you are feeling yucky. Sending prayers up for you!
Cockatoo- Okay for some reason my brain has failed me and I forget who is getting the cockatoo...have you gotten it yet? Have you had the visiting priviledges yet? Keep me informed!
Well...I am going to put my jammies on and watch something..alone :(
Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies out there. I am heading out to a buffet tomorrow. A lady from church invited me and the kidlettes so we are not alone. That is so nice but now I have to decide to be good or not while there!:?:

Happy Mother's Day everyone. My DH is making me breakfast as I type... Its kind of a mixed blessing for me today. My kids are all off in different states so I miss them terribly. But am thankful they're all well and happy. I opened beautiful cards and packages from them this morning. And now my breakfast cooked...
Gracious-I'm so sorry you had such a bad day. But you know it could have been far worse. I would have eaten the rest of the cheesecake and lots of the potato salad. We heat allot by wood to and I love those fire logs.... sounds really nice and cozy. Just three more days till hubby is home again...

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!
COUNTRY: If you went to the StPats site for agave, you might have missed the agave because of its location. At the site got to the INDEX on left side, scroll down to MEAD/CIDER, click, this brings up another box, scroll down to PRICKLY PEAR/BLUE AGAVE, click, this brings you to product page. just scroll down until you come to Agave, light. They also have amber, which is the dark. I think the dark has a slightly different flavor and like it in things like the Fresh Apple Cake. I just ordered 6# of the light, have some dark on hand.
Hope this helps. sef

A while back someone was talking about a hummingbird garden. Can you tell me what kind of flowers you plant in it. I gave DIL a feeder for Xmas, but we have seen no takers. There are some flowers in yard but apparently not the right kind.
I think I mentioned that a couple of years ago they gave me a bird bath and a feeder for Mother's Day. Well, one of the sagos died, so this year they moved the feeder to that corner and have planted flowers around it. It looks so nice. I thought that was thoughtful of them because they know how much I enjoy their gift. I was in pool watching them plant last night, so nice to watch other people work. I told them every good job needs a sidewalk superintendent!!!!
Take care all, enjoy the day!! Shirley

Good Morning...just getting ready to head out the door for church shortly, and thought I'd pop in and say "Hi" and wish all you mommies a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!
One of my brothers came down this weekend and we had a BBQ last night....ate a regular bun and 1/2 c of potato salad. Felt like i cheated BIG time....but while everyone else ate peach coobler with french vanilla ice cream, I had my SF Breyers and was happy.
Scrapin' never occured yesterday...called my friend to confirm and there was no answer. Went to the library, checked out a gob of books and was content reading all afternoon.
Today we're going for a picnic out of town, should be a nice day, and I'm always happy to go for a drive, especially to get out of the desert! Should be a nice time.
Dan the Man was such a sweetie and made me breakfast in bed, with a beautiful card and a rose on the tray. I don't know how I lucked out!
Hope everyone has a great day! Check in later!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL OF YOU WITH KIDLETS :D
I've had a busy day getting the junk room cleaned out. I've already got the curb full, and DEBBIE you would have a field day rooting around out there! If it ain't being used...it's outta here!
Aircondition people need to be able to move around in there to get up in the attic.
Got to finish up with my house cleaning before Wednesday. The Inspector General will be here on Thursday afternoon, then all the wedding stuff begins...
I fixed a yummy looking squash caserole and just took it out of the oven...I'll let you know.

I ate it all!!!!The Mother'sd Day Brunch thing. But it was yummy...I would do it all over again too.
I planted some seeds this afternoon outside and replanted a couple of Tiny Tim Tomato plants. I also re-planted a tiny cedar globe shrub that I got at the Mother's Day Lunch today. I set them outside on my back step and the wretched chickens ate 85% of the leaves off the tomato plants! I was not a happy camper....made me consider making home-made chicken soup, if you know what I mean!
Toni- Thanks....it is a drag when people get you down. It is especially hard for me now because I moved away from where I lived my whole life to a totally different province on the other side of the country and so I don't have my friends and family to lean on...and of course hubby is gone at the time of the crisis!
Mother's Day must be lonely when all your kids are scattered across the country. They remembered you with gifts and cards so that must have been precious for you.
Do you heat using a wood stove or a fireplace? It says on those logs not to add anything else to the fire but I threw in a couple of logs along with it since the one firelog would never do much to heat our whole house.

First, I hope everyone has enjoyed their Mother's Day. Now it is confession time. You guys wouldn't believe what I have eaten today. And the amounts of it. Burger King, cookies, cheesecake, cookies, cheesecake, cheesecake... Is there a pattern here:o I feel like I have been shot at and missed, but sh*t at and hit. Oh my stomach...:moo: Now I am going to have to be totally OP just so there might be a chance I can get some of this off by WIW.

Just hop back on the wagon with me tomorrow, heartmom.
Funny thing is, so many people say they feel terrible when they overdose on carbs and eat off plan...I don't feel that at all! I feel the guilt sure, but not the physically ill effects so many talk about. Perhaps that is to my detriment.
Oh well...tomorrow is another day, a new week, we shall begin the quest again!! And quite frankly...I suspect the wagon hopping will not just include you and me! :smug:

Evening Everyone!!!
I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend!!!!:D I wasn't able to get on the 'puter until now-was gone all day long and had a busy day yesterday.
Today my MOM, SISTER, LAUREN & I went shmizing (running) around up in Broward. Went to the indoor flea market where we walked around a bit and hit the produce area to get some goodies. It was so funny when we went to put our purchases in the car, with all the bags were were in the back of the van trying to figure out who's stuff would go where, what needed to get into the cooler, etc. etc. that a woman came up to us and told us how cute we sounded! We stopped at different stores thereafter, looking for food bargains along the way (people always wonder how I can live on less than $1500 a month-this is how, I'm a true shopper!!!). We went to lunch at OLE OLE (did you even think there would be anywhere else on our list???) and then hit a few more stores before heading home where I first dropped MOM off, then my SISTER and then picked up Michael at a friends house.
I have to confess, I ate a lot of crap today and I gave myself a license to do so with the understanding that tomorrow will be back OP 100%. I can honestly tell you, it felt different allowing myself to do so than when I go into a feeding frenzy. I didn't really eat much off plan, except for a piece of low fat cornbread I've been dying to try from WHOLE FOODS, which I have to say was phenominally delicious, but I ate a LOT of chocolate today-and some cookies - too much-but I'm okay with that as I know tomorrow, like I said, is back to the grindstone. From skimming through the posts today - it sure doesn't seem like I am alone with going off plan today - and I hope, come tomorrow, I won't be alone with jumping right back on the proverbial wagon!!!!;)
This past week, my exercise was the worst ever. Between not feeling well for a few days and then today and one other day not having the morning to go out, it was really dismal. Come tomorrow, that too will b back to normal, or at least I hope. ELI is closing the store tonight, so I will be hitting the bed early so I can get enough sleep and hopefully won't have the dragging feeling I've been having recently.
To top it off, TOM is due any minute, today is day 28 and counting, so not only did I scarf down a load of crap food, I'm bloated as heck. Having second thoughts of getting on the scale this week!!!
I have a ton of stuff to put away, phone calls to parents to remind them they are proctoring exams tomorrow, and just don't have the time to respond to all the posts individually. Actually, I think most of the posts this weekend were general, so if you will all forgive me, I think I will start anew tomorrow.
TONI, for SD, it's legal as long as it doesn't have a bunch of crap in it and falls under the 3gram of sugar rule. I personally try to eat more whole grain breads that pack in more fiber, SD usually doesn't have much, if any, and is higher in carbs-remember, the higher the fiber something has in it, it lowers the carb count.
Once again, I wish all of you who celebrate today in any way had a wonderful day - actually, I wish and hope EVERYONE had a wonderful day:D
I'll be on tomorrow morning to start the new weekly board. Of course, it's MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY tomorrow, so if you have any words of wisdom, quotes, etc., please try to post them tomorrow-I think we are going to need them, big time!!!
Toodles

Confession time. Over ate way to many macadamem nuts. Hadn't eaten since breakfast so I kind of pigged out on them. Should have known better than to have them in the house. Well its over and the day is almost gone to. So tomorrow is a fresh day.... Hope all of you have had a Great Mothers Day..
Debelli- Sounds like you had a wonderful time with your family. And I think its wonderful to be able to choose to take a day off and not be so strick with your self about eating. That makes life much more enjoyable, and heck gal you earned it. One more question isn't sour dough made with refined flour? Just plain ole white flour?
Bob- Sounds like you're having a great lazy afternoon in the recliner... I took me a nap too....
Heartmom and Gracious- Monday is a whole new day.... Give us a break this is Mothers Day!!!
Nancemeister- sounds like you got a real keeper in Dan the man. Hope you have a great day out of the desert today...
Okay all till tomorrow, have a good night
