I saw that in the 300+ group they are doing a biggest loser challenge for Jan. 4th to March 29th and I thought it would be fun to do something like that if anyone is up for it! We could either do that same time frame or something different and post our weights once a week.

Starting weight as of this morning was 320.4
My goal is 35 lbs lost to put me at 285

January 4th- 316.4 (-4lbs)
January 11th- 313.8 (-2.6lbs) TOTAL: -6.6
January 18th- 311.8 (-2lbs) TOTAL: -8.6
January 25th- 308.4 (-3.4lbs) TOTAL: -12
February 1st- 305.8 (-2.6lbs) TOTAL: -14.6 (was down to 304.2 but holding water? dunno)

Yay more people!! Feel free to post your weigh in dates when you want!

I think the new season starts Jan. 6th but I am not totally sure on that. I can't wait for the new season, I get so motivated from that show. I watched most of the last season but stopped watching after all the drama with Heba and esp. Vicki so then I didn't watch until the finale. Hopefully the next season will be drama free.

Ok here are my weigh in dates, it so happens that my weigh day falls on Tuesday because I started the "metamorphisis" sp? on Tuesday 12-9-08. :D
I'm going for 26 pounds, that's 2 pounds a week. ;) Thanks for the info on biggest loser too! I missed the Vickie drama, but I did catch the finale, they looked so different!

Me too! In fact I just told my mom that I am doing the challenge and she is going to help me babysit more in the evening so that I can work out! I just found out that the park nearby my house, less than a mile away, has a lovely walking path that one time around is one and 1/4th miles. I plan on starting tomorrow as I love walking and it seems to relax me. My husband has put a lot of music into my mp3 player and I just bought new tennis shoes so I am ready! I hope to work up to five miles by at least February 2009. Once I can use my signature I will be posting my weight loss, miles, etc. This is gonna be fun! :carrot: :hug:

I'm in! My weigh-in days are Thursdays, so those'll be my dates. My goal is to lose 26lbs and be at 170lbs! Good luck to everyone!!

** EDIT: I've decided to change my goal and try to be at 163 by March 26th! Whoo, I'm feeling motivated and optimistic today! 163 puts me at the top of my healthy BMI range. I realize this is very ambitious and if I don't make it, I won't be disappointed, but it gives me something to strive for!!

Hey Everybody, so here's the bad news: GAINED 5 LBS

Had my little (putting it mildly) temper tamtrum - had a huge breakfast, workout and I am officially back on track...it's amazing the clarity "sweating" brings...

I vow to everyday enter all I consume on Fitday, eat my dinner by 7. I will only weigh myself twice a week (at least till the end on Jan - than only on Sundays).

I will post my measurements at the end of January...I was out of obese and into overweight - still feeling the sting of that reality...

First time in a very very very long time. I used to tell him to leave the lights off or would run when he went to turn the lights on to cover myself. He would even tell me before he would turn the lights on because he knew I liked a prewarning so that I could cover up. Sad isn't it and he's my husband. I have come a long way. Last night I stood butt naked letting it all show and didn't care! Woo hoo! :lol:

Whoo hoo! I'm not sure if last week's weight or today's weight is the starting weight.....but either way, I own this baby!!! (yeah, I am talking a little smack!)

I let my weight get a little out of conrtol. I was 237 the day after Christmas! Yikes!! My dream is to be back to my ticker weight in three weeks and down to 214 by V-Day! We will see. I will check back in with ya'll later. I'm in a hurry right now..

I am new to the whole site...but I would love to have something put me into gear. I have been working out for the past four months, and am doing great in that aspect...however, I see how many so called calories I have burnt, and I guess I think I can go hog wild...(which I know better) I did join a competition at the gym and lost 11 pounds, but since that was over went back to the old eating habits. I will weigh in on Tuesdays! Thanks!

My Sweetie took me to Chili's for dinner and as much as I wanted the chicken quesadillas, I had the guiltless grilled chicken platter. I was full when I left and proud that I didn't go off plan.

I have been doing well but Sunday I was pmsing. (I hate TTOM!) and I had some chips but I did count them but I had to give up one starch and one fat which was cool. I always crave salt and sugar during that time anyway but I am glad I stayed on track! Today I am doing very well. Did two evening work outs yesterday and one this morning and am walking 5miles later tonight! :carrot:

Ya know, I'm not doing so great! On Sunday when I weighed in I was at 264 and today I'm at 266 and honestly...(really) I didn't cheat! I don't get it!! The only difference was adding exercise (which shouldn't make me gain weight as I can't build muscle in a few days) and I started taking a fibre pill. I will hang in there until next weigh in and if I don't start loosing more than I'll have to re-evaluate what I'm doing and make some changes if necessary.

I thought about my "time" but to be honest (and slightly ashamed) I don't mark when it's coming...it's just an (un)happy surprise so I am not sure, it doesn't FEEL like it's been a month already but time has a way of flying.

No, I don't drink as much water as I should...so that's a great point. I really TRY but often don't make the time to flush myself properly so that could be a huge factor.

AND totally laughing over here 'cause the BM thing crossed my mind since it's probably PART of my problem. But I can't admit that 'cause it would finally prove that yes indeed I AM full of s%*t!!! :D

Thanks for the suggestions...let's hope it works itself out in the end. Hee hee!!! Here's hopin' for a better Sunday!! :carrot:

I ran down by the beach last night. I was supposed to meetup with some other people but due to horrible traffic, I was really late. I wound up running by myself for several blocks, thinking I would run into them but then I realized I was running up the wrong street and got freaked out. SO- I cut across to the right street and ran all the way back to the cars only to discover that they still weren't back yet. I waited for them so they would know I came! Well, I thought I had run so far but it turns out that I ran just over 2 miles total. :( I am in training right now and I really needed to do at least 3.

I am doing very well! I have been working out twice a day all week and I plan on doing it again today! I love that my hourglass figure is coming back!! Boy that has been gone for a loooooong time. :D Even last night after I ate a meal of brown rice and veggies and felt like I was going to burst, I held up my gown and my figure was still there. That has not happened since before I had my second child more than 7 years ago! It has also made me realize that I was doing so bad before. I was heavy for so many years and I spent so much money eating all kinds of the wrong things. Fried this, smothered that and I blew through so much money and I let myself go so bad and when I was thinking about it I was near tears. Even if I hadn't found this forum, I know I can never ever go back to that life every again. Those years were the most miserable of my entire life and I thank God that I woke up and got my s*** together and started getting healthy and doing the right things for my health and well being.

I am going to stay on track today though! I am going to take my girls on a walk in a bit and that is always a good work out. Pushing a double stroller with a 2 and 4 year old is hard! ^yeah I find some days it is easy for me to stay on plan with eating and some days exercise but most days I struggle with one or the other.

Well I ended up taking an hour long walk today plus did a ton of deep cleaning and I am still going to try and do at least some of my work out video so today has been pretty good for exercise!

I keep editing my original post for my weigh ins but I just wanted to say "wahooooo!!!" 'cause I'm down 3lbs this week!!

Yesterday I was down 4 but than I had Chinese food for dinner AND I had too many snacks last night...shame, shame, shame :o .

BUT I'm okay with that 'cause I enjoyed it and I didn't eat nearly as much as I would have before I started this journey. I had a small plate and made myself a big salad to go with it. Four months ago I would have piled my plate and likely had seconds. :dizzy: . So I'm celebrating this small victory, that I allowed myself a treat (and avoided a huge binge) and acknowledge the consequence SO I'll pick myself back up and move on.

Had a lot of problems this week with keeping my eating under control due to stress...my weight had even gone back up to 248 earlier this week after an unfortunate day of weakness. :?:

But I'm back on track now and next week should be a lot better! :carrot:

I edited my post but I am down 2.6 lbs this week DESPITE the fact that today or tomorrow I'll be getting my period and am holding some water weight ;) Be prepared for my loss NEXT week my friends!

My starting loss seems huge but it's because I have hidden food allergies. Not life-threatening but when I eat them, they make me retain a lot of water. So when I stop eating them, the water weight melts off. It'll slow down after a couple of weeks. It is a good motivator to see that number there, though!

I just weighed in and I have lost 2 more lbs this week so I am down to 200! I am very excited! I am not sure how I did it since I didn't do too well with eating this week but I exercised a lot and drank a ton of water so I guess that helped!

I keep editing my original post for my weigh ins but I just wanted to say "wahooooo!!!" 'cause I'm down 3lbs this week!!

Yesterday I was down 4 but than I had Chinese food for dinner AND I had too many snacks last night...shame, shame, shame :o .

BUT I'm okay with that 'cause I enjoyed it and I didn't eat nearly as much as I would have before I started this journey. I had a small plate and made myself a big salad to go with it. Four months ago I would have piled my plate and likely had seconds. :dizzy: . So I'm celebrating this small victory, that I allowed myself a treat (and avoided a huge binge) and acknowledge the consequence SO I'll pick myself back up and move on.

Aunt Flo had me sidelined today. I worked out, finished at 12 and went back to bed until 4:48! The cramps were out of control and I was near tears. I hate her but you know how that is. She will be gone in a few days and watch out for my next weigh in because I know I have lost weight before she came. I have on a pair of pants from last week that were loose and today I had to put a pin in them to keep them up! Now I want Sunday to be here because I know I am going to do really well. I always weigh in heavy when she is here, usually up to 5 pounds but I am happy that I have a weight loss. Still doing very good with my diet. The day before she came I had bad cravings but I found a big ice cold glass of water helps a lot. So does fruit when I want sweets but I am happy with any kind of loss with Flo visiting so I am happy. :carrot:

Hello Everyone...I had a horrible week this week, nothing seemed to go right, so I was not able to get to the gym as much as I should, and the stress was over the top so I didn't even think about what I was putting in my mouth. :( Both of my kids were in the hospital :( Thankfully they are both on the mend and my coming week appears to be normal! Anyone have any great tricks they have for giving up sweets????

Sorry to hear about your bad week! Glad your kiddos are on the mend.

As for giving up sweets I just don't - I work them into my plan along with oranges, apples, and bananas which aren't "sweets" but help give me healthy sweet like substances.

I eat Skinny Cow Mint Ice Cream Sandwiches (140 calories -I think- and it's a HUGE Ice Cream Sandwich) and a square or two of Lindt 70% dark chocolate with chili oil for 50 calories a square. I also use whipped cream on fruit for a wonderful 100ish calorie snack. I don't want to give up sweets for life so I had to find a place to work them in.

If you want to cut down, try really savoring that sweet treat when you get it - I eat my chocolate very slowly. And if you like mint ice cream those skinny cow sandwiches are a life saver.

I just wanted to throw out a "Congrats!" to everyone who went down this week! YAY!! My TOM starts later this week, so I'm not sure if I'll see a loss or not on Thursday, but I'm so glad that everyone else is doing so well!

I've decided to do a little TOM Challenge for myself. We have a fully stocked cookie jar downstairs and usually I can just bypass it and move on, but the week before TOM, it just calls to me and I usually end up caving and eating cookies all the time. I'm challenging myself to stay completely on plan during this TOM. That means no extra snacking or sneaking cookies! If I can work it into my points for the day, then I'll have it, but otherwise, no! Argh, it's gonna be hard, but I'll come here for support!

And I am so gonna make a Biggest Loser ticker. Great idea girls!

They do it by percentage. You should def watch the show! its great! Its on Tuesdays but I don't remember what time! Its a good time to start watching because a new season just started last week!

I spent almost all day yesterday playing on the Wii Fit. I love doing the hula hoops!! The only thing is, is that my sides are KILLING me today!! Seriously, Im in a lot of pain lol..i know its a good thing, but geesh, didnt realize childhood games were such a workout!!

Does anyone else have Wii Fit? And if so, do you use it for exercise and whats your favorite game?

I love my Wii fit!! I use it for exercise every morning but I am starting to feel like I need to up my workout. I do the 10 min hula hoops (advanced or expert I can't remember) and ya, um...that's a long time to hula!! LOL!! I feel your pain! I do the boxing but try to keep with the intermediate cause the footwork on the advanced totally messes me up!! LOL! I do the step aerobics (intermediate I think) and I run on the spot for the island distance run but not the island lap (I've done it twice but it's really hard! LOL). I've tried really hard to get into the yoga and strength training but all the talking in between and the pauses with rating drive me crazy...I just want to move from one pose to the other so I guess I'm too impatient.

This group is wonderful because they are so supportive! When they all helped Dan up the hill I was teary BUT when he didn't see great results on the scale despite his hard work...I did cry...along with almost everyone there. And when the brown dad went to bat for why Dan needs to stay and what will happen to him if he went home...I really love them...it will be a great season!!

Getting close to weigh in day, I'm a little nervous, to be honest. I had such a great loss last week (9 lbs, which I know, most was water) I feel like I'm guaranteed to have no loss, or even a slight gain, since I went off plan one day this week. Anyone else feeling dreadfor that second week wackiness?

I'm off to the City today, my son is getting his surgery on Tuesday, we had to put it off because of the -50C weather and my van popped a steering fluid hose when it was that cold the day before we were supposed to leave. So now I leave today. Wish us luck and I'm more determined than ever to stay on plan.

I had a great week, which I'm surprised about because I ate kinda crappy because I was PMSing BIG time! So I indulged, and yesterday I finally got my period so the craving disappeared. The best news of all is, I hopped on the scale today and I'm down to 217!! Thats a loss of 4lbs. I must've been retaining water this week and dropped it the minute I got my period! Woohoo, I'll take it!

I knew I would have a loss since Aunt Flo is gone. I hope to be in my 260's before February 14th! My girlfriend told me I should do pictures because I am doing well at losing weight so I am! I was down to 257 (which would have been a big celebratory WOOHOO 'cause that would be 50lbs for me) BUT my TOM is coming and I haven't had a BM in a few days (it's TMI I know...sorry) so I see the scale go up. I hate that. I agree with Rodeogirl Lalique, you'll see a loss next week!!

For me this is a huge lesson in why I should only look at the scale once a week. It can be a bit obsessive for me and instead of celebrating that I've lost 2lbs I'm bummed because it should have been 4. The scale can be pure evil.

Good job everyone!!

For those of you that are gaining or keeping at the same weight don't be hard on yourself. For one thing I know that whenever I am nearing that time of the month I gain a lot of water weight and even if that isn't your case the important thing is that you are checking in and staying accountable and that is very important for staying on track! I am proud of everyone here for commiting and trying so hard. We can all do this!!! If anyone ever wants to pm me to chat I would love to, I think coming on here and talking to people helps so much with motivation!

You are all doing so awesome, keep up the good work!!!! :)

Hope everyone is still doing good. TOM has arrived, so I hope I can lose the water weight before weigh-in on Thursday. Right now I am showing a gain grrrrr! And I have stayed op for the most part only had one maybe 2 days that I went over my points in the last 2 weeks.

This is prob. a dumb question but what is TOM? I have heard people on here talk about it and I never know what it is lol.

I just got back from a walk with my girls. It felt good. Oddly enough I haven't been very hungry today. It is my 3rd day of no smoking and I thought it would be tough with eating but today I haven't felt great and just haven't been hungry. I have been drinking lots of water and tea though. I am still hoping for a loss this week, that would be a major feat with quitting smoking in the same week. I can hope anyway!! :)

I am craving all kinds of food the past two days. I'm going to ride it out for now but I may bump my calories up by 100/day if this lasts after TOM hits the road.

Its going to be a long 'on the road' day for me today. DS has to go to the Dr., then will have to go to the hospital for blood work. I do much better when I am home all day. I will need lots of willpower.

rodeogirl~ I’m lucky, when TOM hits I feel so crappy that I don’t like to eat and tend to drink TONS of water.

I made some weight watchers chicken tortilla soup last night and it is amazing! I’m sharing it with my colleagues at school today as we are starting a new thing where a few people make different healthy soups every Wednesday and share (today is the first one, so I signed up to get it out of the way).

Yesterday I ended up walking 6 miles! I did 2 miles at home [gotta love OnDemand] and walked the track with a friend I havent seen since grade school. We ended up walking 4 miles! Needless to say, my legs are sore...but in a good way!!

Then came home and watched BL and was very disappointed :(

I didn't see last nights episode, I am going to watch it today!

Well I am still doing well with not smoking but am still not feeling great. I am sure by the end of the week I will feel better. I know it is harder for me because DH is continuing to smoke a lot. Anyway I am going to do my exercise soon. I haven't weighed myself yet this week. I am really trying to stick to weighing once a week so I don't get obsessed with it but sometimes I like to weigh myself mid week just to check in and see how I am doing. For awhile I was losing 2 lbs a week and I hope to get back to that. I know that will mean really sticking to my food plan though and exercising every day!

Yay! I hit a 10lb weight loss (total) today! I'm excited because I didn't think this week would amount to much because of my nephew being over (and him having a sweet tooth and wanting beignets and smores) and a 1lb gain on Sunday. I started calorie counting on Monday and I guess thats what made the difference! YAY!

I weighed in a day earlier because I have school tomorrow from 8am-8pm and I know I will be sllleeeeppppy!

Kim- thank you for posting that. I have never heard about that, it sounds horrible. :( I try to do small things to conserve and recycle. Ever since living in Germany I have used cloth bags for shopping instead of plastic and I always recycle pop cans, bottles etc. It really is sad what is happening in our world.

Watched the Biggest Looser last night for the first time. I've caught the end of a few episoped last season but never realy watched. I will be watching all season this year. Super motivational. This morning was my wigh in.I am down 4lbs. I cried on the scale I was so happy to see that 4lbs go.

Great job Cece!

Really bad weigh in last night. I gained back 3.2 of the 4.8 lbs. I lost last week. I'm starting to get used to being and feeling sick so there really is no excuse for me not to be moving more. I just need to plan in more rest time for after activities, but there is no excuse for me to be inactive and eating cruddy food. There is no way that gaining my weight back could help me get better, losing weight might though. I really need a kick in the butt and some support, but I feel like everyone at home is more concerned about how sick I am then how I am doing with my weight loss. I wish they could see that gaining weight just makes me depressed and I'm sure does not help my illness.
