Guess I don't have to go to the gym today :D
I didn't get a chance to measure because I couldn't find a ruler but the news says we have about 8 inches. Thank god I stayed home today. Not even one plow down my street.

Ours is coming down as I write. I sure hope we don't get as much as the mid-West but it IS good exercise.

I've been staring out at the snow in my driveway...wishing someone would shovel it. :)

Great Job!!! You are way more ambitious than I am. We take total advantage of a snowblower!! I think we are up to about 10 inches as we speak.

Awesome work! I'm not a huge fan of shoveling snow, but I think deep deep down, I'm alright with it, cause it's a good workout.
BTW: Where do you get one of those things that tracks the calories? That's awesome!

Yeah, what kind of POLAR is that? I thought those were only heart monitors?

That is a LOT of calories burned, daniela. Congrats! Also, I'm totally jealous of your HRM. Which Polar is it?

I added more pics to my 1st post to show the other screen post workout.
It's a Polar FT40, my early Christmas present to myself :) I just got it about a week ago and I've been testing it out whenever I get a chance. I thought it would be interesting to wear while shoveling snow. My max HR was 159, when I run my max is 179, no wonder so many people have heart attacks, keel over, and die when they're shoveling snow.
It's been super cool to use at the gym because I never knew how much I was burning in classes and doing weights. Plus I didn't trust the results on the machines they over estimate calories burned big time.
I found out I burn 650 cal in 1 hr of spin class but I only burn 279 cal in 1 hr of Body Pump class.
Description from website: BODYPUMP... Read More™ is the original barbell class that strengthens your entire body. This 60-minute workout challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls. Great music, awesome instructors and your choice of weight inspire you to get the results you came for – and fast!

Wow! I had no idea that shoveling snow was that potent. The other day we got a dump of snow (very unusual for us) and I shoveled our driveway, then I looked over at the neighbor who is crippled with arthritis and did her driveway. Just as I was finishing I see the old woman across the street looking out at me. Crap! I did hers too because she is so frail and the ambulance shows up once or twice a month to take her husband to the hospital. I was tired when I was done but it felt good to do something nice for people who needed help. I am so happy to hear the bonus is so many calories burned! Sweet! :)

Who needs the gym when you have snow to shovel by the bucket load ;) On a serious note well done for all that exercise and calories burnt.
I am so glad that I live in the UK where snow fall is rare and snow fall about that depth is as rarer than chickens lips
