Simply Filling/Core - Weekly Chat - 12/15 to 12/21View Full Version : Weekly Chat - 12/15 to 12/21 blessedwithsarah 12-15-2008, 02:43 PM New pages for a new week blessedwithsarah 12-15-2008, 02:50 PM Happy Monday everyone. Feels like I've been away from the board for a long long time! I had a very busy weekend. I hosted a Christmas party for my family yesterday - spent all Saturday getting ready. The food was great - some core/simply filling and some things not. I didn't track what I ate but I didn't eat much - spent too much time taking care of things. It was a great day - 25 people for the afternoon. Now back to program! Wednesday is our last at work session, the next one will start on January 7th. I'm going to follow the program and track on line over Christmas and try to stay the same or maybe even lose over the next few weeks. Sandra, congrats on getting through the play. Now time to relax before the holiday. Maryann, glad you are feeling better. What I've been using to alleviate my sinus' is a saline spray. I usually take sinus pills most of the winter, but so far using the spray daily I've been OK. Have you tried that? Got to get moving. BBL pattygirl63 12-15-2008, 03:14 PM :wave:Good Afternoon Everybody, Somehow I ended up with Monday being my WI online which turned out to be a blessing for me today. I was down 4.5 lbs :carrot: from my weight gain last week so while I'm not sure I wanted Monday as my WI (I thought I had made Saturday my WI day) it turned out okay. I have to say that keeping track online is very helpful to me. I track the food and the activity pts, but I'm not using the ap and not many of the wpa. I know people say you should use the wpa for when you get to mainenance, but I'm not going to use them unless I really, really need them. Maybe on special occasions like Christmas day. I think the loss is a good thing that I needed. Now just to keep the scale going down or at least stay where I am during the holidays.:D Paula - Sounds like you did good at your Christmas party and you have a plan for the rest of the year. I think that is what we have to do is have a plan, track and we will come through okay.:) Maryann - So glad you are feeling better and feel like going shopping. I probably wouldn't make cookies if it were for the DGDs wanting to bake while they are here. Coco, Rhonda, Sandra and others - Everybody have a good day. beach bum 12-15-2008, 06:06 PM Hi Ladies:) I just finished baking some Christmas Cookies, could not resist.I was Lazy and bought the sugar cookie dough, where I just have to cut and bake. My favorite part is decorating.I made stained glass wreaths from the food network and linzer torts for Leo. PAULA-I do have the saline solution, the one I have is 4 way. Thanks :thanks: going to use it tonight. TRISH-Don't think I going to give the cookies to my grandchildren they didn't come out the way I wanted them too. Have to still get some more gifts. Tejas 12-15-2008, 11:09 PM  Hi everybody...I had a long day, after a restless night and am headed for bed. Eating was sporadic and unplanned but not too bad. Needed more order but couldn't find the energy to impose it! Just four more working days until the holidays!!! I need them. Night, Rhonda ontarget 12-16-2008, 03:33 PM Hi there, Chickies. I did wi here at home yesterday and had a loss. I'm not saying how much. I'm afraid I'll jinx myself. I know that's silly of me, but I'm still not saying yet. I am changing my wi to Fri beginning this week. I'm hoping that will work better for me. Paula, sounds like you had a fun, festive day with loved ones. Makes me smile. Trish, I'm liking the keeping track online, too. I'm glad Monday wi works for you. Congratulations on your fantastic weightloss. I'm saving WPA's for emergencies, too. It just seems like I'm having too many emergencies, though. Oh, well. Maryann, I'm baking bread. We're giving bread baskets to friends and neighbors. The house smells awesome! Rhonda, four more days will go by quickly. Do you and Doyle have any trips planned for the holidays or will you stay home? We'll be staying close to home. We're not even going to another archery tournament till Jan. 3. I'm sitting here watching cardinals, bluejays, doves, woodpeckers, birds I don't recognize, and a titmouse outside our window. We have 4 feeders just outside that I can see from my recliner. I put out about a gallon or more sunflower seeds every day now. The birds are spoiled and so are we. We get to watch them. Life is good. Have a wonderful, op day, everyone. beach bum 12-16-2008, 06:14 PM Hi Ladies:) Sorry I wasn't on the computer yesterday or today, but Leo and I had 2 very busy days. Had to go to the computer store[mac/apple] for something that Leo wanted to return and while there I fell in love with a computer that has a built in camera that I can call my grandchildren and see them on the screen. Leo agreed that that would be a plus,so he bought it for us. So now we have an up to date computer,an early Christmas present for the both of us,but it taking forever having to transport all the information from the old computer to the new one. RHONDA-Hope you got the rest that your needed. I hate:devil: nights like that,I need absolute quite in the room to sleep are I get restless during the night. Sandra-Congrats:carrot: on your loss,I understand why you won't post as I would do the same thing myself.Funny that you mentioned changing your W-I day. I changed mine from Fri to Monday instead.I need accountability over the weekend. I had a very good night not eating any of the cookies I baked.I'm more or less into salty goodies than sweet ones,so maybe that's the reason I'm not attacking & eating them. Not going to buy the store bought cookie dough anymore those are the ones that I'm going to have Leo eat. They didn't bake right, just crumbled apart. Have a great evening, and I hope we'll be up,so I can post coco99 12-16-2008, 08:31 PM Hi Everyone Just getting on here for a minute. Going to go and get ready to watch A Charlie Brown Christmas. We have watched that every year together since son was little. So it is on and we are going to watch. Well I lost a pound last night. Hubby lost 3. Went and did my Christmas shopping today. Just have a couple of gift cards I need to get. Will get those either over the weekend or on Monday night on my way to WW. Is kinda bad here. Got a good bit of snow today. Now turning to rain/sleet/ice. So dont know what the morning will bring. But got candles ready. And kerosene for the heater. Well I hope everyone is on the mend that hasnt been feeling well. I am thinking of each of you. Have a wonderful night. Think I will make us some popcorn. Sounds good. Night coco pattygirl63 12-16-2008, 11:36 PM A quick one here for me too. We went grocery shopping for a few things today. but will have to go back this week end or early next week. The kids who are coming will be here Friday evening and had to get a few things for when they're here. We're doing ham for Christmas and will have to go get that Monday or Tuesday and the fresh fruits I want for my fruit salad I'll make for Christmas dinner. Sandra, Coco - :cheer2:Yeah on the weight loss. Maryann - I accidently changed my WI day to Monday, but maybe it was psychologically did it for the same reason you did so I'll be more careful on week ends. It is amazing how that helps me stay OP knowing I'm going to have a WI on Monday. Tracking also helps me when eating out. DH wanted to go out to eat today and I was extra careful because I had such a good loss I this week I don't want to gain any of it back. I got the easy cookies for the girls to bake and I can just supervise. Looked for red sprinkles for the sugar cookies but everyone must be buying them. I'll have to look when I go to the other store Monday. I got the pen like things they can be creative and draw on them if I can't get the Christmas prinkles. Rhonda - Y'all have a good evening. beach bum 12-17-2008, 10:04 AM Good Morning Ladies:) Whatever I had that made me sick is gone and I have been weighing myself every day this week to take an average weight for the week, but I found that I still on the 164 mark. Maybe is going to take a while before my body wants to lose again. COCO-I like to watch the Christmas cartoons like Charles Brown but I was glued to the biggest Loser finally last night. I was so happy that Michelle won the top prize and the B/L title I didn't like the other contestants. Congrats:carrot: on your 1 lb loss, you're doing fine, especially with this being a eating & party holiday.Hope you enjoyed you popcorn, that a Saturday night movie watching tradition at our house. TRISH-You might be right about thinking Monday is a better way to go with W-I's. I thought that myself,as the weekends are the hardest time to stay OP than the rest of the week. Will let you know if it worked for me. Having Ham is some thing different but sound delicious .We go down to my DD's on Christmas and she always makes a turkey and sometime a brisket. Have to get going and get last minute items before we leave for NY on Next Tuesday. ontarget 12-17-2008, 01:17 PM Maryann, wish I weighed 164, but I do understand your wanting to lose more. Guess we met each other changing our wi days. Coco, our weather is getting better. It's warming up and the ice is melting. Life is good. Trish, do you have a lot of people coming for Christmas? We did a little indoor training this AM. I told Curtis I bet we're among the few who can watch squirrels and birds feeding right outside our windows. Now I'm slow-cooking chicken breasts. I'll fix veggies and rice to go with them. This is my 3rd day in a row to stay in jammies. I'm spoiled. pattygirl63 12-17-2008, 03:06 PM :wave:Hi Ladies, Sandra - Tony's DD and her family will be here sometime Friday evening and will leave early Sunday morning after Christmas. We are thrilled she was able to get off to come this year. She has never been able to take a week off at Christmas, but the lady who usually takes it too Thanksgiving off this year. She has three children. The youngest was born 29 days before Tony and I married and she is very much like ours. However, we took care of all of them when we lived in FL. The oldest which is our DGS fondly remembers his deceased grandmother and we talk about her from time to time. The middle child DGD was too young when she passed away and doesn't remember her. So to them and me, I am their Nannie. Makes a very "special" relationship for all of us. Maryann - It will be interesting to see how our theory of WI day being Monday helps us. I am a true southern girl from TX. To me Christmas dinner was traditionally turkey, cornbread dressing, brisket etc. Ham was served on New Years Day with blackeyed peas and potato salad etc. Then I married this guy from IN who lived in FL and all of that changed. They have turkey and bread stuffing for Thanksgiving, ham for Christmas and used to have homemade noodles his Mother made. They do nothing special for New Years Day. So things changed a lot for me. However, when previous hubby was living, I started cooking about a week before Thanksgiving and didn't stop until New Years Day having to bake everything Bill could think of. Tony is absolute opposite. :D:dizzy::dizzy:He could care less about all that stuff. Maybe if I had met and married him when I was younger, I wouldn't have been fighting this weight problem all these years. He eats pretty much like I did when I was younger. DH wants to go to NY for Christmas someday when no one is coming here for Christmas. His DS has to put in for vacation time now for next year. He called last week and said he is putting in for Christmas vacation so that they can be here for Christmas next year. So I guess that will stay on our "someday" dream list. Not a lot going on today. Just a few things I have to get done before the kids get here. I need to get my sleeping turned around, but maybe that will easily happen when little feet start running up and down the stairs by my bedroom door. :dizzy: Coco, Rhonda and others reading this  Have a nice day! coco99 12-17-2008, 07:30 PM Hi Everyone Well not much happening here. The weather is much better today. Early this morn. Still had some ice on the porch. And said there could be some slick spots on the road. But it started warming up. And we got rain. And melted the snow and ice. So that is good. To the ladies who were talking about weighing in on Mondays. That is when I weigh in. And I love it. Because then I have to be accountable for the weekend. And cant just eat whatever I want. And when we go out to eat. I make better choices. I tried other weigh ins. But like the Monday one the best. BEACHBUM Glad you are feeling better. I am sure the scales will start moving. Keep your chin up. PATTYGIRL Bet you are getting all excited about your kids coming. I need to make a list and go to the store myself. May just do that on Monday on my way to WW. Well I am going to get off here for now. Hope everyone is doing ok. Thinking of each of you. coco ontarget 12-17-2008, 08:04 PM Trish, I have grands by marriage, too. I also have a great grandson as of this past August. They are all just like my own, too. Between Curtis and me, we have 6 granddaughters, 1 grandson, and 1 great grandson. Two of the granddaughters are from my side. The rest are from Curtis'. Enjoy your company. I am glad they're getting to come this year. Coco, I say whichever day works best is the one we should use if we have a choice. I'm glad Monday works for you. I had an "oops" today. I am already back on the wagon, though. Now that in itself is something new. Usually I wait and wait and wait before climbing back on. We were watching a show last night and one of the characters said, "Tomorrow is today." I guess we can all read whatever we want into that one. To me it means I have put off long enough and need to just do "it" now. coco99 12-17-2008, 08:10 PM Hi Just a quick stupid question. We dont have to go and buy all new WW cookbooks now do we. We can use the ones we already have. And the core recipes just count the points for them now. Or do we need to buy the new cookbook. coco blessedwithsarah 12-17-2008, 08:51 PM Hi everyone. I feel I've been eating out of control since Sunday night. I did really well during my party and my scale was actaully down on Monday am. Well, that seemed to give me the OK to eat. I've been a bit out of control and actually skipped wi today -- it was the last week and I did not want to be up. I did actually start tracking today - have not done that truthfully since last Friday. On line I did switch to simply filling tracking (the old core) rather than doing the flore I had been doing. For the next couple of weeks, I'm going to do core as best I can and try not to be eating anything non core. I hope everyone is doing well. Its funny how I don't check in for a few days and I feel lost! Coco - as far as the cookbooks - I don't think points calculations have changed. Anything that was core is now a filling food. I think WW would love to have everyone feel they needed to buy the new stuff - I wouldn't bother. Sandra, congrats on realizing your oops and getting back on track! Good for you! I wish I had that realization on Monday afternoon....oh well. Glad to hear the play went well - was this a holiday time for the group or a community theater? Would you do another? I'm jealous to your watching the birds - can you send them back up north? All I have is grey squirrels! Maryann - maybe staying the same for the next couple of weeks is a good goal? Do you have a lot of entertaining coming up? For a kickstart -- maybe find some new recipes or limit carbs? Just an idea. How is Leo doing? Hi to everyone else! got to get dd to bed. Have a good night. Vickie 12-17-2008, 09:32 PM Hi Chicks! I'm thinking about going back to WW on 12/29. Crazy huh? I'd like to beat the rush. We have an ice storm coming tomorrow early evening into Friday. They are expecting 1/2 to 3/4 inch of ice....the kind that breaks trees. Nothing we can do about it but have stuff in the house in case we get stranded. I'm just hoping the electricity stays on. I've had enough of winter already. All of you are doing so well. Hang in there! ontarget 12-17-2008, 10:02 PM Paula, sounds like you're going to be all right. Just forgive yourself and move on. The play was to be a final farewell to the old stage where I used to direct plays when I was teaching. I directed there for 3 decades. Auditions had been opened to all in the school district. I am a retired teacher from that district and was permitted to audition. No, I don't think I'll be any more plays. I don't like to be tied down to routines any more. The only reason I was in this one was for sentimental reasons. I did enjoy it, though. Vicki, we were sort of stranded at home the last 3 days. We could have gotten out but didn't. Tomorrow I'm actually going to get dressed for the first time since Sunday. Tejas 12-17-2008, 10:46 PM  all....goodnight! Rhonda Tejas 12-18-2008, 01:39 PM  I get the prize: last and first on. I hope everyone is having a good day. I am; I left work early! I'm taking my DH out to a movie and then to dinner tonight. Rhonda coco99 12-18-2008, 02:45 PM Hi Everyone Just taking a break. Been doing some cleaning. And now going to get ready and wrap some packages. So came to get the wrapping paper. And thought I would get on here. BLESSEDWITHSARAH it is so easy to fall off the wagon. And so hard to get back on. Or it is for me anyway. But sounds like you are back on the wagon. and that is wonderful. Hope you are having a great day. VICKIE hope you are doing ok. You be careful with the ice coming your way. I think maybe sometime over the weekend they are calling for a chance of ice for us. I dont like the ice. TEJAS hope you have a wonderful "date" with your hubby. That is nice to do. BEACHBUM How are you doing. Hope hubby is doing ok. ONTARGET Hope you could get out today. Well I better get off here. Need to get the wrapping done. I am thinking of each of you. coco beach bum 12-18-2008, 03:03 PM Hi Ladies:) I'm still around, just having problems with our new :comp: computer. Leo went to the store that we bought it from and hoping they will be able to fix the problems. They ask its easy to transfer fer stuff from one computer to another. Don't believe that,Once we got all the information on the new computer it would let us in for some reason.I'm posting from the old computer. I CAN'T:no: BELIEVE that I haven't tried to get into the cookie jar,or the candy dish.I guess I'm not into the sweets anymore,my interest is in snacks like potato chips, pretzels, and my favorite cheese doodles.Don't have those in the house,so I don't have to worry about them, until I get down to my DD's house where they are everywhere. YIKES!!! Hope I will have the :dust: when I'm down there. SANDRA-I was so closed to getting out of the 160's and than gained 3 lbs at TG. Now trying to get out of the 160"s is a mere dream,as I don't think I'm going to make it,leaving my environment.Hope the Monday w-i will do the trick. TRISH--Its it funny:lol3: how traditions fade after we get married. I had the same problem,my family always had turkey on all the holidays like TG Christmas & Easter, but when I go married Leo family Had the traditional turkey for TG but for Christmas:tree: they had a goose and Easter:egg: was Leg of Lamb. Didn't like th two latter's.Finally I got my way again and Turkey is severed on all the holidays.I came from New York, and I must say that Christmas was the most beautiful time of the year down there, but we moved out as we couldn't afford to live there anymore after our retirement.Lets hope our Monday W-I will work though the New Year. COCO-Thanks :thanks:for your kind words. They're talking about a 4" snow storm on the Cape Friday afternoon. The supermarkets were filled with people:gossip: preparing for our first major snow:snowglo: fall. Hope it melts by this Tues as that when we are leaving for NY. Thanks for giving the OK for a Monday W-I,if it helps you being more accountable for the weekends I think Trish & I made a wise decision. PAULA-Thats a great idea:idea: going low carb for a while could kick start my weight loss.I should have thought of that being a a low carb program before I went back to WW. I definitely don't want to be back in the 170's like I was last :tree: Christmas.Sorry Paula that your off the wagon & missed you W-I. ,but you'll get back on & just remember You and the rest of us can do this, its just a matter of saying no:no: to the foods & drinks that hinder us. VICKIE-Thats a good Idea:idea:,to get ahead of the long lines of people making their New Year Revolutions.I do the same ,but I don't attend meetings anymore.Stay warm and safe during this storm. We are on alert also for this weekend. RHONDA-Congrats:carrot: for being the last and first on the boards for your prize :present: lots of :grouphug: from all of us. Have a wonderful time at the movies. coco99 12-18-2008, 07:39 PM Hi there Just another quick check in. Son wants to get on here. But I have some clothes in the dryer. That will taken out soon so they dont wrinkle. And the dishes need done. Still have some wrapping to do. Guess I am trying to do to many things. And not getting anything done. BEACHBUM Here' some :dust:. I am sure you will do fine while you are away. I think we all need some will power in the next couple of weeks. Hope you get your computer all figured out. Guess my Mom and Dad are going to fix some salmon for Christmas dinner. They are also going to have turkey and some ham. Will say a little prayer that the weather gets better by Tuesday for your travel. Well gotta go. Thinking of each of you. Have a wonderful evening. coco blessedwithsarah 12-18-2008, 08:24 PM Maryann, glad to hear you're only going to be getting about 4 inches from the storm tomorrow. We are at the 1 foot area. School has been made a 1/2 day tomorrow - I'm glad that dd will be home prior to the snow. For work I'm leaving by noon and working from home in the afternoon. My goal is to be home before any snow. I've done well today food wise - all core with just a couple sneaks at work -- too many treats around the office. I am going to estimate 3 points for my snacking. I'm off to do laundry as well - both hampers are overflowing! Have a good night ladies! blessedwithsarah 12-18-2008, 08:27 PM Does anyone have a good sugar cookie recipe? DD and I are going to make christmas cut out cookies this weekend. No, they are not core, but for Santa. Just wondering if you had a favorite recipe to share! Have a great afternoon, going to start my dinner coco99 12-19-2008, 02:37 PM Hi Everyone Well it is pouring the rain. Water is laying everywhere. If this keeps up. Afraid it might start flooding. But guess sometime over the weekend we have a chance of snow. I am just thankful that all the rain we are having isnt snow. Cant image how much we would have. Guess son is taking us out to eat tonight. He wants to pick up a couple of gift cards. So thought while we are out. Might see if he will stop at the Cracker Barrel so I can get a gift card for my Mom and Dad. They like to eat there. BEACHBUM Glad you got your computer all set up. Have a terrific Friday, everyone. I'll be back later. blessedwithsarah 12-20-2008, 09:54 AM Happy Saturday everyone. Well, we have about a foot of snow on the ground, ,its still snowing (light flurries) and we are expecting another 8 inches tomorrow. I guess we will have a white Christmas! Thankfully, school had a 1/2 day yesterday and I left at noon and worked from home for the afternoon. So we were all safe before the storm hit. Right now dh is clearing the driveway and I need to call the gym to see if dd's class is still on at 11. Then this afternoon we are going to the Bass Pro Shops near us -- there is a winter wonderland set up and pictures with Santa! Should be fun and probably crazy busy. Oh well, maybe the snow will keep people away. It was dh's idea, so he can't complain if it is crowded. Maryann, how did you make out with the storm? Coco, where do you live? I'm wondering if your rain was part of our snow storm. Hope all is well at your house. Sandra, keep doingi what your doing. Congrats on the loss. Hi to Trish, Rhonda, Vickie, Donna and anyone else I missed! blessedwithsarah 12-20-2008, 09:56 AM Maryann, just read how 12,000 on the Cape lost power last night. Hope you are OK. pattygirl63 12-20-2008, 11:18 AM Well, I am going to try this again. I wrote a short note to everyone yesterday and lost it and then just wrote and got knocked off line. I'll just make this short and say I hope all of you getting snow and ice storms are staying warm and have power. Maryann - I hope you have power and are able to make your trip to NY Tuesday. Our DD and her family from FL got here yesterday. Enjoying the children. Had an interesting conversation with DGD soon to be 6. She was eating breakfast and said, "This bagel is making my stomach hurt". She was feeling full. I explained to her (after her brother told her it wasn't hurting her stomach) that she was satisfied and that she didn't have to finish it. She had about an inch of it left to eat. I read in Intuitive Eating that we all had the feeling of satisfaction to stop when we were children. I can remember those days. I learned to finish the food on my plate even when I didn't want it. Now we are all trying to learn to recognize the satisfied feeling so we can stop overeating. How interesting it was to me to experience kind of "show and tell" of it in my little Hannah. Y'all have a nice week end. Tejas 12-20-2008, 11:52 AM Paula, here is a sugar cookie recipe. It is from the Canadian Living Cookbook. I've never made them, but this is a great cookbook. Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies 1 cup butter 1/2 cup lightly packed brown sugar 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 egg 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon cream of tartar Icing sugar (confectioner's sugar) raspberry jam Cream butter in large bowl. Add sugars, beat until fluffy. Beat in egg, then vanilla. Sift or stir flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture and blend. Divide dough in half, wrap in waxed paper, chill for at least three hours. Working with one portion at a time, roll dough out to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out cookies. If you want jam in the middle, then cut hole in middle of half of the cookies to add the jam to later. If not, leave whole. Bake on ungreased baking sheet in 375 degree oven for about 8 minutes. Let cool on racks. If you use the jam, then spread jam on whole cookies. Put icing sugar on cookies with the holes. Put a cookie with a hole in the middle on top of the whole cookies. You're making a cookie sandwich, with the jam visible through the hole. beach bum 12-20-2008, 12:08 PM Good Morning Ladies:) We survived the storm we go about 7" & now Leo has to go out and shovel our car and pathway out.The stupid snowplow driver was told to shovel longways and push the snow to the side but he went crosswise and plowed everyone's pathway. That's funny I was able to get in to the thread yesterday.OH that was some experience to be able tell your DGD what we learning on the Core. I think Britsol county is higher in elevation -- Easton always seems to get more snow than what the forcasters think. I'm glad Im off form work next week! Tejas 12-20-2008, 11:12 PM Hi All: We're getting snow again tonight, after having had a 12-hour storm yesterday. But, it wasn't hard to get around today, just too many people out. I'm starting :exercise: again tomorrow. I've been lazy for about 6 weeks at least, but, no more. It makes a difference to the way I feel and look. I'm going to do 30 minutes of aerobics five days a week, come heck or high water. I haven't quite got it all figured out about timing, but I'm going to do it. Hope you're all snug and warm somewhere. Rhonda Tejas 12-21-2008, 11:12 AM Wow, where is everyone? We have a perfect winter day. The storm has stopped, there is a LOT of snow :shocksn: it's just below freezing, and the sun is shining in a blue sky. :stardav: Happy Hannukah to those who celebrate the holiday. Rhonda beach bum 12-21-2008, 03:32 PM Hi Ladies:) Over slept again and didn't have time to post. When I went to church this morning the snow was just starting and by the time church was very we had a rain:rain: mixture, I had to get a few more gifts:present: so I managed to get though all that mess on the road. Have to pack, but now I'm waiting for a phone :callme: call from my DD to see if my DGS is ok. She called saying that her son a fever of 101 and wasn't sure if we wanted to come down, knowing Leo immune system is still low. If its not the weather its illness. So our going down is still ????????mark. PAULA-Its turning to rain:rain: and it looks like slush. Hope it doesn't freeze:brr: tonight or it going to be dangerous walking & driving tomorrow. Have a great evening will post in the morning. pattygirl63 12-21-2008, 05:19 PM Rhonda -Oh, I am so envious :coolsnow: of your snow. I would love to have a White Christmas. Aren't you smart starting your :exercise: again. I hope to start mine the Monday after the kids leave next Sunday. Maryann - :hug:So sorry:sorry: your plans are up in the air. I do hope your DGS gets well so you can make your trip. ontarget 12-21-2008, 07:17 PM Trish, we're not having a white Christmas in Texas either. It's cold today but should be in the 70's by Christmas Day. We did have white Christmases in Montana, though. I really enjoyed them. Sort of brings out the spirit. I apologize for being MIA. I promise you I'm still op. It's just been hectic around here. Until today I hadn't used any WPA's this week, but a neighbor just brought over a homemade pecan pie (still warm). I had a slice and am about to journal the 11 pts. Tomorrow night we're having our family Christmas get together at a Salvadoran restaurant in Ft. Worth. Rhonda, the restaurant is in the old Montgomery Wards building on 7th Street. I hear the building is now a trendy shopping area. Should be fun. I'm sure I'll be out of WPA's by thetime we leave. Maryann, I hope you're safe and warm. I can't imagine being without power where you are this time of year. I hope your grandson is better and you can all get together. I know you'll all be disappointed if you can't, but you'll do what you need to do for Leo. Rhonda, :woohoo: on getting back to exercising. I know you're feeling better for doing so. I have been birdwatching most of the afternoon. Life is good. Vickie 12-21-2008, 07:47 PM Hey Chicks! It is life-threatening cold here. When I got up this morning it was -2 with a windchill of -30 degrees. Jim got the ice cleared away. It had to chop and shovel it out of the driveway. Horrible even by Chicago standards. It's supposed to be this cold again tomorrow with warmer temps on Tuesday but then more snow. Ugh. I'm tired of Winter and it just got here officially today. I've been doing well with my getting slowly back to business plan. I still plan to go back to WW on the 29th. I'd like to beat the crowd. I'm starting to bake tonight; two batches of shortbread cookies. Tomorrow and Tuesday will be non-stop baking and cooking. I pray to be too busy to sample! Tejas 12-21-2008, 11:26 PM Cold here too...12.5 F. Not as cold as Vickie is, but still miserable. We didn't take the dog out at all yesterday, and didn't take him out tonight either. His back left leg bothers him a lot, so we just let him out the backyard for the necessary reasons. I hate to see his leg bothering him, scared about where it leads eventually. Sandra, DH and I went to one of the restaurants in the old Montgomery Wards building in October..can't remember the name, but it was good. Maryann, I hope that your trip works out. Where is our Donna/Tech these days? Did anyone see her running after the wagon!!!??? Rhonda ontarget 12-22-2008, 12:26 AM We're cold but no where nearly as cold as ya'll have it. It's 25* right now. I ate 1 slice of pecan pie and journaled the pts. Also, I got online and got a copy of the menu for where we'll be eating tomorrow night. They have grilled tilapia that I'm thinking of ordering. I am hungry now but am trying to not give in. I still have 26 WPA's left this week. My last day is Thursday. I need some ;). I think we all probably need ;). pattygirl63 12-22-2008, 11:32 AM Good Morning Ladies,:coffee: Won't see this often where I'm here 1st. I am so excited this morning, because my WI day:goodscale yeah I lost 2 lbs. WW website doesn't show my 4 lb gain except on chart so it shows I've only lost 3.5 lbs where I show 6.5 on my record, but I guess that's good not that it doesn't record my gain. Maryann - I'm sorry I can't remember everyone else who made today WI day with us. But your idea of WI being Monday was good for me. We ate out at Ryan's yesterday and I ate much more than usually do, but the neat thing about tracking online it keeps up with the all the WPA & AP. I figured my pts yesterday rather hi because of Ryan dinner and when I tracked and finished the week I still had about 8.5 WPA left and hadn't used any AP. Maryann, knowing I had to weigh today did keep me from going as wild as I could have. I still ate a lot of Simply Filling foods which is probably what kept me from going too wild. So  your theory does work. Sandra - Good luck :goodvibes coming your way for you eating out today. Vickie - That is just tooooo darn cold. Hope you're staying warm. It's 25 here today and will get up to 35 later today. They say it will be cold a couple of day, but is suppose to warm up to 62 Christmas day. So no snow coming our way :(. Wish we could get some as our FL DGC have never seen it. You all have a good day. beach bum 12-22-2008, 11:34 AM Good Morning Ladies:) Can't believe that the sun is shinning:sunny: and the ice is melting off the roof tops, but the winds are still howling and are expect to die down some time this evening. Thanks:thanks: Ladies We hope that our trip is still on,our DD called right when I was posting, and said that GS still has a fever and hes coughing up flem. She told us that he doesn't know how to blow his nose and keeps it in,until he throws it up.She going to sterilize the house as much as she can,but she understands if we don't go down. She asked if we come down for New Years instead, but Leo has a doctors appointment than. SO ITS STILL UP IN THE AIR. Got on the scale today for my new Monday W-I day and I'm up 1 more pound.making it a total of 4 since Thanksgiving. Boy do I have to work on this weight next year.Looked at at my W-I journal & I noticed that I gained big pounds every year I went on those cruises.NO MORE CRUISES FOR ME. Have to go ,have to get thinks done just in case we are going down to NY tomorrow. vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
