I've had severe asthma for 7 years, now. The steriods in my meds have added quite a few pounds to me, and the asthma prevents me from doing any serious areobic activity. I'm at least 65 pounds overweight, and I want to make my body stronger and slimmer. Not only for the appearance reasons, but I'm sure that the extra 65 pounds can't be helping the asthma. How ironic, the weight that I gain partially from the meds is actually making my asthma worse.

Hi,

I was on steroids, too, for several years. Amazing, isn't it, that a tiny pill can have such a huge effect on weight. When I first started taking prednisone, I was seeing the pulmonologist once a week. One week I had a weight gain of TEN pounds!!! Now I'm not on steroids any more, and weight loss is still quite a struggle. Keep trying to reduce the calories, and walk if you can - have you tried walking videos you could do at home at your own pace? I haven't, but I'm interested. Keep up the good work!
