All of you have made our 3FC 5K's a success this year and I thank-you :thanks: Especially ISABELLA for taking over when I was out of town.

You all did wonderful things for yourselves :woohoo: You shared your "gains" of better times....more miles....animals and birds you saw along the way...and of course the great sales as you window shopped ;) as you 5K'd in the malls

Your success was an inspiration to us all.

But guess what TEAM

THAT! was so last year ;)

We have bigger fish to fry!

On January 1st we will start a :newyear: NEW YEAR and of course a new 5K :carrot:

So get out there and :faint: stink :faint: up the threads ;)

DATE OF RACE ~ Anytime you want around Jan. 1st ~ We understand you have things to do....maybe a bit too much  New Year's Eve ;) You may wish to do your 5K early! I will start a new results thread when the first gal finishes and posts here!

RULES ~ We really don't have any. You may do a 5K however you see fit. Walk it...run it....shop it...take the kids....the dog....the neighbor's kids....your honey....use your imagination...however the number 1 rule is :woohoo: have some fun :joker: get out and enjoy life for a half hour or two!

You just never know when a 5K will change your life for the better!

SIGN-UP and let me know if you want a specific number...I will do my best....first come first served! ;)

Hey EZ...I'm in! If I can pick a number and it isn't already taken....then I say...hmmmm...#8.
My favorite horse ever won the Kentucky Derby from #8. He he he...

Anyway, I'm doing a 3.3 mile run, but my 5K TT time was 41. So I figure if I could do 3.3 instead of 3.1 in 41, that would be beating my time. Prospect Park Brooklyn starting at 11:15 PM December 31st...champagne toast and fireworks when we finish. Who needs any other motivation but champagne?

I ran a race when I was a kid, 10 years old. Can't remember how long it was, probably a couple miles. But at the time (1979) we were just west of the International Dateline (i.e., Pacific Ocean, middle of nowhere). So they had a race to be the last person to win a race in the 1970s. You could start whenever you wanted, but to win you had to be the last person to cross the finish line before 12:00.

Here in Pensacola there is a prediction run every St. Patricks day, sponsored by the local Irish Pub. To win you have to predict your finish time, and the person closest to their predicted time wins. No watches allowed in the race, of course. The best part of the race is that people dress in crazy costumes, and the spectators pass out cups of booze instead of water. I've never run in the race, but this year I plan to. Anyone want to come visit FL in March?

Ok...I would run that race EVERY single weekend. I think it might be fun to watch my bowling ball butt swerving toward the finish line after a few doubles of Paddys Irish Whiskey!

Glad you asked MANDY...every so often we do a 5K....on or around a certain date. This time it is on Jan. 1st or close to it...depending on your schedule. We all do our own 5K's, either organized...treadmill...walk...run...anyway we can. Then we post our results. We encourage each other through-out the process....and....since I know you ahve done a 5K now ;) we can add you to the list if you wish.

I WILL POST NUMBERS TOMORROW TEAM!!

Crum, I'm sick. I'm kinda bummed, because I was looking forward to a nicely improved time from Thanksgiving, since my training has come along a bit since then. But I haven't run since last Wednesday. I decided this morning I would at least walk for 30 minutes during my running time, and even that was pretty much to my limits this morning. So I don't think I'll be up for a full run by Thursday, or at least not for a good race time. Maybe I'll do it a little late :( Well, I guess I'll just see how it goes :^:

I did discover this morning that it seems a lot darker and a bit scarier to be out pre-dawn when you're walking instead of running :o
