Good morning everyone. It was a busy weekend here and I'm getting into the Christmas spirit! I took dd to see the Boston Ballet's Nutcracker this weekend. It was fabulous! I haven't gone in about 15 years, it was majical to me and dd was amazed. I spluged and got 7th row, aisle seats. So we could see everything on stage. I think she may now like ballet better than tap :)

Then yesterday there was a local holiday festival with a parade. The best part was the end of the parade was the reindog contest. There were over 70 dogs in their holiday best. Its a riot to watch. I also managed to get my gift list in order and have a few things to pick before next weekend when I see my family. I feel organized and ready for my family party.

Food wise, I'm doing well tracking. I'm still doing Flore, which I guess is now momentum. I'm going to continue to track my daily points at least though the end of the year.

Hope everyone else is doing well. Got to get moving. BBL

Good Morning Ladies:)

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I did busy writing Christmas:tree: cards and did a little shopping yesterday. This morning we had a reading of 19% temp outside and I decided not to go out when its that low.

PATTY-Thanks,I know I can make it and bring the scale downward again, but my biggest fault is SODIUM I have to watch it with a CAPITOL W thats my plan during the holidays and more .I tend to eat whats on the core list and only 1/2 of my WPA's.So its the sodium thats the culprit.

RHONDA-I'm so sorry to hear :listen: that you have to be bed ridden. Is it the flu that causing this.????Hope you're feeling better by time this post is written,if not :getwell: wishes are on there way.Don't want to be sick over the holidays.

SLOANE-Hope you have a wonderful family vacation ,sound like fun living is such as large cabin. The port issue is resolved and thanks :thanks:for your continuous prayers. Don't really remember:chin: the song but I know the Lord will help us though,we just have to have faith.

SANDRA-Thanks:thanks: for the kind words Going to try to maintain over the holidays:tree: not like I did last year where I gained 11 lbs.

PAULA-Thanks:thanks: for starting is up on this new week, going to refresh my plan to get the scale moving downward again. Oh the Nutcracker I love:love: that play.Happy to see that you & your DD saw it together.I think I'm getting the Christmas spirit also, writing Christmas cards, but once I put the decoration up & think I'll be in full :flow1: bloom.

Have no idea:idea: what this new momentum plan is all about. I read from the public part of the WW site articles & than went to the momentum /simple foods message board, but still don't understand that it all about. I'm just going to continue with the core and use my WPA's.until I receive more info on the plan.

Maryann, my take on the new plan is that is "flore" -- count points but eat core foods (now labled filling foods). There is a "simply filling" option where you don't need to track or measure filling foods and you have 35wpas still -- so basically core.

The only significant change I see is that activity points can be carried to other days rather than just being able to use them the day earned and that all fluids count toward your water intake.

So, no real changes for us following core. HTH

Oh, this has just got to be the 'flu. This is day 5 of feelig badly and my temperature is back up. It's not high but I'm full of acetometaphin also.

Oh well, it's not really serious, just a nuisance. Thank goodness work is slow this time of year and I'm not teaching this term.

Back to the recliner or bed...

Hey chickies!
We had a great weekend with family. We did eat a lot of junk, but I did not gain! I'm sure the exercise has a great deal to do with that. Also, my perception of overeating has probably changed. When I was snaking on the "junk" we had, I must have been eating less that I thought because it started to make my tummy :(. We spent time visiting and even had a family "talent" show. I laughed so hard my cheeks hurt!

Rhonda-you must be right about the flu. Having fever for five days is definitely not just a cold. Don't forget to drink plenty of fluids while you are resting. I hope you feel better soon.

Paula-your holiday festivities sound awesome! I know you and dd are building some awesome memories!

Sandra-when is your opening night? I can't wait to hear about it!

Maryann-how are you and Leo doing? I haven't put up my Christmas tree, and I'm waiting for that burst of Christmas spirit to hit me, too!

Coco-I'm glad you are safe!

:mrsclaus: (hugs and kisses) to the rest of you chicks!!

Sloan, congratulations on maintaining. Opening night is this Thursday. I'm soooo ready. I will miss everyone when rehearsals are over, but it's hard for me to be on a schedule. Being retired is spoiling.

Rhonda, I hope you're feeling better. Stay inside and let Doyle pamper you.

Maryann, I think maintaining over the holidays is just as good as losing. You can do it.

I'm floreing now. Or momentuming. Or whatever it's called. Just had grapes for a snack. Life is good.

Hi Ladies,,

Rhonda - So sorry you have the flu. Hope you get to feeling better soon. No fun being sick during the holidays.

Mary Ann - I need to do Christmas cards too. The mood hasn't hit me yet. Need to get them done and mailed this week. I know about the salt, I've had to cut back on it myself. So glad the port situation is taken care of for Leo.

Paula - The Nutcracker is one of my favorite Christmas stories. Never seen the play, but the DGD and I will be watching the movie when they are here.

Sloan - So glad you had such a good time with your family.

Sandra - I would love to do Flore/Momentum, I did it when I first started WW years. I guess I did something wrong on it when I tried it last week. However, I'm thinking with the parties etc, I may need to try it again once I get this one week of Slim Filling/Core done. May do it until the end of the year and see how I do.

DH and I did our Christmas shopping today and have that all wrapped and under the tree. I've got to bake for a Christmas party for Sunday night. Sunday is my WI day and I lost .5 lbs this week and I too would love to at least maintain and not gain anything during this Holiday.

Good Morning Ladies:)

Have a lot of thinks to do,have to bring my Christmas :tree: Cards to the post office .Especially the foreign ones as I don't know the correct postage for over seas air mail. Than I have to start getting small gifts for under the tree,as I'm giving m children money this year, with all the talk that some stores are closing, because of the economy, I afraid :fr: to give store gift cards out.

PAULA-Along with the plan I have to watch my snacking at night,I'm snacking on carrots & snow pea,but after a while the veggies seem to get boring and the salty stuff takes over. My second plan is to keep my hands busy, with my knitting. Nothing excepting, just scarf length that I want to sew up the sides and make into a drawstring purse.Made one during the summer and my granddaughter loved it so I make another one for her. So all the fuss over nothing its still basically core and with the 35 WPA's I CAN DO THAT

RHONDA-Please take care of yourself, drink lots of liquids and try to get temperature down.Sending you some :getwell: wishes.

SLOAN-Oh you lucky:lucky: girl, when ever I eat junk I gain, but I can gain on reg foods also,Have to watch :cool:my portions.Leo is fine, and now I'm sure we will are going down to spend Christmas with the family & the grandchildren. Thanks for asking,Going to attempt to decorated this weekend.

SANDRA-Like I told Paula I have 2 plans, and I would love:love: to maintain during the holidays. Hope it will be possible, but it will be if I don't bring my negativity into this plan.[[[[MUST THINK POSITIVE]]]].I guess I'm doing the flore or momentum also,as I eating core foods and putting points to them.My range is 20-to 26 pts[1000-1200] this week, but I hanging around the lower area of the range.

PATTY-Yes:yes: the sodium always has been my problem. My doctor told me that being on a very low carb diet before I started to go to WW.He told me that the body tends to crave salt more so than sweets when on a very low carb diet. Maybe thats the reason I'm still having problems in this department.

Have to get ready and get to the PO before it gets to crowded.

Hi All:

I think I'm over the worst and am feeling better, with no fever yet today. I'm staying home though. It's good not to be really needed at work sometimes!

I read a piece in the paper yesterday about someone who had worked for decades and was never late and never took a sick day. All I could think is that he did not have kids to take care of, must have been a total control freak, and must have spread his germs around the workplace instead of staying home like he should have

I lost the two pounds I gained and was surprised not to have lost more. I'm still behind my goal, but progress is being made.

Have a great OP day!

Rhonda

Trish, congratulations on losing that half pound--and for being finished Christmas shopping/gift wrapping.

Maryann, you're right about being positive. I'm working on being more so, too. I am aiming at 23 pts a day this week. I did well yesterday. I have 4 pts left for today so I will prob have to use some WPA's. Oh, well, life goes on.

Rhonda, maybe you could send me some flu germs to help me lose weight? Just kidding. I am glad you're over the worst and are on the mend. Congratulations on losing those 2 pounds.

Tonight is our first dress rehearsal. Tomorrow is our 2nd and last. Live performances begin Thursday. Am I ready or what?

Not much going on here today. Got up early so I can go to bed early tonight as I have to be at dentist office at 7am tomorrow. I hate going to the dentist, but trying to get myself mentally ready. I'm experimenting on my own trying to figure out how I did Flore before. So I can start pretty much do Momentum the last half of the month. Not eating much different than I do on Core, but I would rather do it more like Flore/Momentum. I think it will work out great once I get the hang of it. One of the things I like about the online WW is the activity points tracker. We walked around Costco for over 2 hours and then probably walked around Walmart for about an hour. The activity tracker says 2 hours liesurely walking is worth 6 points. I also like the new thing of saving Activity Points. Never used those before and don't plan to now. However, if I can learn how to do Flore/Momentum and use Daily pts each day and then save both the 35 WPA and save the AP for times when you eat out. I was wondering if that is mostly what those of you do who do Flore? Just curious.

Rhonda - Glad you are on the mend and feeling better. I agree about staying home and not taking germs to others at work, but not many people think that way any more. I remember one time the doctor telling my deceased grandparents that they were staying sick because the two of them kept passing it back and forth. He said they needed to get well at the same time. :bravo: for the 2 lbs loss, but being sick is a tough way to do it.

Sandra - I guess I wasn't here when everyone learned of your opening night. So not sure what you are doing. But sounds like it is something you enjoy doing. Hope everything goes well. Have fun.

Maryann - I still have to get my Christmas Cards done. Maybe I'll do them tomorrow when I get back from the dentist. DH wants to go to Costco in Charlotte to get something he saw there for DGD birthday. He wanted to get it for her for Christmas, but we had picked out something else for her and we try to keep it even. Then on the way home he remembered that her birthday is 3 days after Christmas and we are doing a little family party for her before she goes home. So I need to have the cards ready to mail when we go. Plus when we took our trip, we took everyone's gifts so we wouldn't have to mail them and ended forgetting my daughter's families things so I've got to get them boxed up to mail as well. I can't believe that we have one more week end before the kids that are coming get here. Boy how the time flies. It will be January before we know it.

Have a good evening.

Hey everyone. I can't believe the week is almost over. I'm still trying to figure out the new program. We have the formal rollout on Friday (my weigh in day), but since I do all my tracking online...I've been forced to figure it out.

Today is Tuesday and I've already gone through my 35 points for the week (actually 38), and it's only Tuesday. I still have Wed & Thursday to get through. I'm still eating as I always do, and using the "simply filling" program, but things are turning into points on etools and I can't figure it out. I'll have to wait until Friday.

Ok, I have to run. It's late & I'm beat. I went to Zumba today and have the gym "scheduled in" for Wed & Thurs. We'll see. Thank goodness I have you ladies!

PS - I ordered the WW book noted in the opening threads. I'll let you know how it is when I get it. I LOVE to cook! I'm craving tomato soup...

Hi Everyone
Well got the new program last night. Not too sure about it. Guess it is really our "flore". The one thing I am kinda disagreeing on. Is that all liquids count as our water. Because if you drink extra juice or milk ect. You will have to count points. I think the liquid thing should have stayed the same. But that is just my thoughts.
Oh and did they make the quick trak smaller so we wouldnt eat as much. And all that fine print.
I wish the program books were smaller too. So they would fit in the bag I had bought for my WW. Now I will have to buy another. Oh well.
I did lose 2 lbs this week. So am happy with that.
Well I gotta go.
Need to catch up with everyone.
What does anyone else think of the new program. Just curious.
Thinking of everyone.

Good Morning Ladies:)

Stuck in the house today waiting for the repairmen to fix the dishwasher.YIKES:yikes: what a waste of time. Theres so many errands that have to be done, and now I have to wait.

I guess while waiting I can go though my Christmas:tree: decorations and see which ones I'll put up this year.

RHONDA-Congrats on your:carrot: 2 lb weight loss.:carrot: I have 1 more pound to lose to bring my tricker up to date.Happy to hear the fever broke, and that you feeling a lot better. I 'm very careful where I go,and don't want to be the carrier of any germ that Leo can catch with is immune system down so low.So as soon as I feel that I'm coming down with something I make sure I don't go out to my choir practice or Sunday service to give my friends a cold. People sometimes are very inconsiderate,WHEN YOU SICK DON'T GIVE IT TO SOME ELSE.

SANDRA-I wasn't:no: that way for all long time always thinking negative and it started to effect everything in life espeically in weight loss. Now that I'm thinking positive[one day at a time] I much happier:) as a person. This week I doing the Wendi [HSD,LD,MD,LD & HD] with core foods & pts,but so far it isn't :no:working like I planned so this Sat I going back to set points.

PATTY-Mailed all my cards now it going to get little gifts for under the tree :tree: Good Luck:luck2you: at the dentist. I late going there but I will make appointment for a cleaning in January. The New plan has a lot of different things attached to it. Like the A/P now you can use them all week long. I never used mine, remembering my leader thought just using the WPA's was enough points for me. May be now that I doing it on my own I should start using them as I exercise 6 days a week doing 30-45 mins.

CUBA-Thats a lot of points to go though when you new week started on Sat. thats only 4 days. Try to space time by having no more than 4 a day than by the end of the week you have 7 left to play with.

COCO-The new program:books2: is almost the same as the core with a difference in some rules we have followed. I agree:yes: with you about the allowing any liquids to count as water. Water has no points,so do we count points for the others. Good ?????????? to ask the leaders. Don't go to meetings anymore so I don't know what the new tracker look like.Congrats :carrot:on your 2 lbs. Your doing great, wish I could say that.

Have a great morning, will be back later

HI everyone! No time to read -- I'll catch up later today. Went to my meeting - weight stayed the same, I think her scale was off :) We did get the new materials -- The momentum plan is basically flore. There is little to now change between the core food list and the filling food list.

Just wanted to give you all an update. I'll be back later today.

Hey ladies!!

Ditto on the no time to read, I'm off to my 3rd final. I've been on Flex this week and I think by the time I weigh in on Saturday I'll be down around 3 pounds, which yeah it's good but just a little frustrating after 3 weeks and that's all I've lost. Damn plateaus :( I'm going home on Friday for Christmas break and will be back on Core since my family will want to go out to eat (making up for dad's missed bday plus visiting EIU there's a Cracker Barrel down there) and I'm going to try to count points to make sure I don't starve myself like I was doing before. I kind of feel lost going back into Core. I've had a lot of success on it before, but for some reason the 2 weeks before I went on Flex I was having difficulty with core. I need 23 pts./day on Flex so should I shoot for 23 points a day only eating CORE foods while on CORE? I'm so confused now. I have a habit of making things more difficult than I need to...

Thanks ladies! I'll be back after I rock my final to catch up on the posts and comment :)

Hi:

Congrats, Coco, on the loss. Sammi, I would say that you are complicating things for yourself: 23 points, period, Flex or Core. But, clearly, all Core would likely be healthier.

I was interested to see that Oprah is talking in public again about her weight gain. She should get on the board here! OR, share her personal trainer with us, to say the least ;)

I stayed at work for 6 hours, and it should have been 4. I can feel a chest cough coming on but I hope it doesn't progress.

Hi Everyone
Not much going on here.
Raining. Turning colder. And later on suppose to get some freezing rain then some snow. Hope it isnt too bad in the morn. Because I do have some errends I need to run.
Well I guess Oprah is just like all of us. She fall off the wagon. And is going to get back on.
TEJAS Hope you get some meds before your cold gets too bad. Seems to be alot of that going around. Guess with this weather. One day 50 degrees the next 20 or 30.
BEACHBUM How are you and your hubby doing. Hope you both are doing ok. I would think if you were drinking milk, juice or using creamer in your coffee you would have to count the points. Because otherwise it isnt 0 points. I will still drink my water. And limit my other drinks. But sometimes with the colder weather I do have a harder time getting in the water. I need to get into my Christmas cards. See what I have. My Mom gave me some. So shouldnt have to buy any. But need to get on the ball and get them addressed and mailed.
ONTARGET GOOD LUCK ON YOUR PERFORMACE.
SLOANIE How are you doing.
Well I better get off here for now.
Just checking in for a few.
Hope everyone had a great day.

Hi Ladies:)

Wasn't and still now not feeling well. Feeling achy all over, but I did manage to get a long nap on the couch. Rhonda is it possible:shhh: I caught it from you via cyperspace.:lol3:

Didn't eat from my food journal, but I had some chicken soup and some deli chicken breast in WW pitas pocket bread. So I had 2pts for Lunch and I think I have the same for this evening.

The dishwasher repair man came and it wasn't the heating circle that went but the latch on the door was closing right.Glad that I got that fixed.

PAULA-Thanks :thanks:for the information, glad that the program didn't change that much for us core bees ,now the flore. Congrats:carrot: on you staying the same.Leo always said to me the scales were fixed,of course I never:shrug: believed that. My scale[doctors] was always 2 lbs less than the WW scale.

PAULA-Not going out to day,as I'm not feeling well.

SAMMI-Congrats :carrot:on your 3 lb weight loss. I hate:devil: Plateau also, but thats how our body works. What I suggest is make a chart with the date & weight on it and every time you W-I put a dot on the chart to correspond to the weight lost maintained or gained.Than connect the dots and you will see how your weight differs from week to week.Maybe you have a plateau and than a large loss will follow.

SAMMI,maybe you can go to Dotty's for the restaurant points of the Cheese Factory.

SANDRA-Going to start set points on Sat.,thinking 24 might be right for me[1200]At least my doctor thinks so.

RHONDA-Do you believe that Oprah has a thyroid problem????? Yo-Yoing all the time no matter what diet shes on.I believe that she was on too many fad diet plans that her body is not functioning correctly. TG we're smart to stay on WW flex core or now momentum. I think that will all the diets out there WW is still the best.

COCO=Thats why I questioned the water drinking vs all liquids are the same. How can that be, when water has no points and milk cream has points.A Lot of the Christmas cards are expensive so I go to the day after Christmas sales to buy boxed cards for 1/2 the price and I also use the ones I get in the mail also.

Sammi, I'm in a public school Christmas play. Tonight is opening night. We'll be finished after Sunday afternoon. Congratulations on rocking those tests.

Vickie, I am thinking of you and your beautiful decorations and gift wrappings. I always enjoy reading about what you're doing.

Maryann, I hope you and Rhonda get to feeling better quickly. (And I hope ya'll don't pass it around here.)

We're having good weather today. I shot over 60 arrows outside getting ready for a small tournament this Saturday morning. It's in nearby Weatherford, so I'll be able to make the Saturday night performance.

Speaking of the performances--we're having a cast party Sunday after the last curtain call. This will be my first "eating test" since rebooting myself to program. We're having sandwiches, dips, and cake. I think I'll be all right if I just eat a sandwich. (Subway) I'm afraid I'll "blow it" and fall off that wagon. I'm such a foodaholic. One bite and blewey.

I need some ;), please.

 Hi Everyone,

A quick one here. Got my tooth pulled and the temp bridge yesterday and have been mostly resting since I got home taking lots of advil for pain. Dentist gave me prescription, but didn't feel like going to Walmart to get it filled. Came home and went to bed. Got up this morning hurting so took meds and went back to bed. Just couldn't wake up. My dentist is really good so I'm not going to mind going to him which is good as I have a lot of other work done. I had a front upper tooth that had a piece fall out 2 days before my appointment for the bridge work and he was good enough to fill it before he did the work for the bridge. So I don't have to walk around with an ugly tooth here at Christmas time. So I am pleased with that. Eating has been minimal since I haven't felt like cooking. Just quick stuff, but still on plan.

I ordered my books on line today. I wasn't sure what the Points Calculator does so I didn't order it. Maybe some of you who go to meetings can enlighten me. I always use the slider to figure points. Do you know if I need to the Points Calculator and how it works and if it is need or will what I have work as well?

Have a busy day tomorrow, but I'll try to get back here tomorrow evening to catch up and do individuals.

Sammie - I did see you had a good weight loss so :cheer:Congratulations!!!

No, I better use those ;) to stay away from the cake. That would be my red light food. Thanks again for the ;). I'm going to use them.

Coco, are you liking Momentum better yet? I'm thinking of it as "Flore." Am I right?

Ouch! Trish. I feel for you and hope your pain goes away quickly. I have an older points calculator and love it. I confess it doesn't cap fiber grams at 4 so I still count as many fiber grams as the food has. I don't add any fiber fillers, so I don't think what I'm doing is too bad.

I hope all of you are feeling better. Get some sunshine or take some vitamin D.

SANDRA-Thanks :thanks: for the well wishes. You're doing great shooting 60 arrows.Good luck with the tournament on Sat.I'm sure you'll be ok if you stick to the sandwiches, than the other two.

COCO-We're were having very heavy:rain: rains with winds at 40MPH this morning, which doesn't help me feel better. I was surprised that it was the latch that was causing all the dishwasher problems, glad it fixed as I got lazy with washing the dishes by hand.

PATTY-Oh my I hate  tooth extractions sending you some[[[[[[[healing vibes]]]]]]]your way.I guess thats the best way is to rest.Hope you feeling better soon. I have the point calculator, when you put it on you hit the button points and you to put the calories hit enter add the total fat hit enter and than you add the fiber and it will give you the point value. Its a reg calculator also.

OH my, tootaches, colds, misery...I hope everyone feels better soon!!!

Sandra, if you wrote about last night's performance, I missed it...how did it go?

I was BAD today with my food choices, but it could have been worse, and it's over. Didn't even enjoy it very much, and that is instructive.

Have a great night!

Rhonda, thank you for asking about the play. We've now completed 2 of the 4 performances. Everything's going well. I'm having fun riding in the wheelchair. The man who pushes me popped a wheelie after curtain call tonight. It was a hoot. The audience cracked up when I started screaming and waving my arms.

I know what you mean about not enjoying food. Been there done that. I think you're right. We're learning. Ain't it great!

Maryann, I'm sorry you're still not feeling well. Several cast members are complaining about major headaches. I'm wondering if it's flu coming on. I hope not.

I'm heading to bed. We leave for an archery tournament around 7 am. I don't have to be at the auditorium till 6:30 tomorrow night, so we're competing in the am. After that, I'll crash all afternoon. Life is good.

Good Morning Ladies:)

Did sleep last night on count of the moon shining right into our skylite. The room was lite up like a Christmas :tree: tree.Leo says that they reported that the moon was going to be very close to the earth last night and than go back to its original position.

W-I this morning and I'm up 3 lbs,so the pounds that Sammi lost I found. Have a feeling its that stupid sodium again as I had a cup of Progresso chicken soup have to buy & keep on stock the Campbell Healthy one instead.

RHONDA-Thats normal,to slack off once in a while.Hope you get back on track. I'm trying to set up a new system by circling all non core foods with a circle, like bread, along with counting points on all{flore}and see how many I consume in a day.If its more than 4 x's I will bring it it down to 2.

SANDRA-Good Luck at the tournament I know you'll do great like you did the last time. I hope you right that it isn't the flu.,as my doctor will be disappointed in me for not taking the flu shot when I had the opportunity to take it 2 months ago.

Have a great weekend

ah, the 'flu shot. Perhaps you know that it is not totally straightforward that just everyone should have one. The virus mutates very rapidly and the vaccine for any one year is a best guess made by experts. But, the experts are only human, and last year the best guess was dead wrong. So, the people who got the shot were not really protected at all.

But, if you're elderly or a health care worker, etc. the shot is recommended over not taking the shot.

Forgive me if I'm "preaching to the choir."

Finally the sun came out here today. Toronto looks so tired when the sky is gray. It's an old city, and it shows. I ran errands this morning, and I think this is going to be the last Saturday shopping I do before Christmas. People were everywhere! I thought we were in a recession and no one was spending money. HA!

Hmmm.....I thought it was recommended for over 50 and those with compromised immune systems. Jim gets it every year because of his diabetes. I've been getting it every year since I got the horrible flu that lasted over two weeks. I know it's a gamble but I do it because it makes me feel like I have at least some small protection.

I'm wrapping....smokey nose and all!

Hi Everyone
ONTARGET I havent really started the new program yet. Still been doing the old. Was thinking I might wait until the first of the year. Then give the new program a shot. And yes it seems to me that the new plan is Flore. sounds like you are having a great time with your program.
BEACHBUM Sure hope you get to feeling better. Sorry about the gain. But that soup can do that. I know. It happens to me. So I have to really watch. My Mom and Dad wanted to go for Chinese today. Told them No Thank You. I Knew what would happen. The scales wouldnt be pretty Monday night. I am hoping for a maintain. Wasnt the moon pretty though. Even though it was so bright. I thought it was beautiful on the snow.
PATTYGIRL Hope you are doing ok. Hope your tooth gets to feeling better. To me if your teeth hurt or feet. You feel bad all over.
TEJAS hope you are doing ok.
VICKIE How are you. Hubby gets the flu shot. But I havent. Guess I should. But have heard of too many getting sick after they get the shot. Know my Mom got really sick after hers. So I just pop extra vitamin C. So far so good.
I need to wrap some stuff. I have a couple of things for our son. But havent gotten any other shopping done. So have to do that this week. And I need to get my Christmas cards done. I just cant seem to get with it this year.
To EVERYONE else I am thinking of you.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Maryann, Curtis and I have both been told by several doctors (cardiologists and pcp) to take flu shots. I have a friend near Austin who has the flu now inspite of taking the shot, so I'm not sure how protective they are. Several people in the cast have the flu. Guess I'll find out soon if our shot will work or not. We also had to have pneumonia shots. They are good for several years, thank goodness.

Vickie, I'll bet your gifts look gorgeous. It makes me smile to think of how much time and love you put into your giftwrapping.

Coco, the new program is easy so far. I did use a lot of WPA's today, though.

Rhonda, I'm going shopping with a gf Monday. She called me yesterday to see if I'd take her. We'll be going to Applebee's for lunch. They have WW items on their menu.

The play's going well. Tonight I'm supposed to have several ex-students in the audience. Last night I had one. It was so good to see him. He used to be in plays as well as classes with me. We have been in touch via email for a few months now but this was my first time to get to see him in person in about 15 years.

We shot a tournament this morning. I used several WPA's as I snack while waiting to shoot to help me calm down. (Does that make sense?) Then we ate at Golden Corral. I did all right there, but still used a lot of pts.

Tonight I'll have a WW TV dinner before leaving for the play. My plan is to not snack when I get home. By doing this I will have 16 WPA's left for tomorrow's cast party just in case I have weak moments. Monday is my first day of the week. Whew! Am I glad I didn't use WPA's throughout the week and had them all saved for this weekend.

ah, yes, Vickie, people with compromised immune systems have been told to get the shot.

I'm hoping I suffered enough last week that my immune system is now tougher for the rest of this season :crossed:

Sandra, how did you shoot at the Tourney?

Hi Everyone,

Well, I was up 3 lbs this week too Maryann. I don't know if it was from eating out yesterday usually am up a lb or 2 after and also the pain pills I was on. I read they could cause a gain. I decided to go with the New Plan since I can keep track of everything online and print it. And I did pay for 3 months.

Sandra - I agree that it does seem to be very easy to follow.

Rhonda - Glad you are feeling better. I never take the flu shot. I told deceased MIL's doctor that the only time I had a flu shot was the only time I ever had the flue and that I had a terrible case of it. He said he had a doctor friend who had the same thing happen to him. So he said it was just up to me if I wanted to chance it again. I am basically healthy, but now that I am older I will have to talk to my doctor and think about it again.

Maryann -Hope you get to feeling better from last week. How's the tooth.

Coco & Vickie Hello hope all is well with you.

Y'all have a good evening & Sunday.

Good Morning Ladies:)

Have no idea why I still not feeling well, wish I could pin point whats wrong so I could tell the doctor. I don't have any symptoms except having this dull pain in my sinus area with runny nose and a slight cough that wakes me up a night.I also have the chills without a fever. Can't call it a cold,as I'm taking a cold medicine called Zicam, and it not working this time around.

Enough about me,how every one this Sunday morning???Did you get your decorations up,and some cookies baked. Thats what I like to get done, some time this week.

RHONDA- Leo has to have the flu shot along with a pneumonia shot every 5 years because of his lungs. Some of my friends that a lot older than me, get theirs every year. My doc told me that I should get one also,I told him never get the flu :crossed:I alway get bad colds that keep me bed ridden, and he has to agree, that its not the flu that I had.So what was it, thats 64 thousand dollar question.

VICKIE-Thats what I heard that people:gossip: over 50 should get the shot, but there so many strained out there, what says one type of shot would help against these.

COCO-I love  soup especially in the cold days of winter, but the sodium thats come with it is awful.I shouldn't be so lazy and make my home made soups :stir: again. I don't blame you,Your were right to stay away from Chinese restaurants especially around W-I day.If you made the Chinese dinner you could control the sodium intake. Yes the moon was pretty I was surprised that my Leo the camera buff wasn't outside taking pictures of it. Good Luck a tomorrow's W-I.

SANDRA-Like I told :blah:Vickie there so many strains out there, that One flu shot its not going to protect you from all of them. Two people from my singing group:gossip: got the shot & immediately got ill from the shot and they don't take it anymore. There pro & cons on any medicines[oral or by shot],if I don't have to take them I don't.

TRICA-Sorry:sorry: about your gain, its horrible when we try so hard to avoid that gain. Pain killers and restaurant foods are always the :devil:culprit. Hope you're able to flush it out with H2O.
I'm hoping that my bod not feeling well, did the damage on the scale. Heres to a better W-I next week for the both of us.

Have a wonderful Sunday

Good Morning All:

Gee, Maryann, I'm sorry to hear that you are dragging. Maybe you've got sinusitis more than anything else. I always get some complication from sinuses and Afrin nasal spray helps....so does breathing steam, like in the good 'ole days. Whatever it is, I hope it ends soon!

I haven't done any decorating, but I will this week. I haven't done any shopping except to buy DH a tie with the inuktikut (sp?) symbol on it. That's a cairn built by people in the north to point the way of the path so that you don't get lost. I bought him a little statue of an inuktikut when he joined me here in Toronto, so I thought something for the year we leave would be sweet. He did manage not to get lost these past 5 years that he's been here.

I'm going to eat modestly today and am facing a challenge tonight when we help a friend decorate her tree. She's a good cook who never spares the carbs!

I'm now off to see my former MIL in the nursing home. I usually see her every week but have stayed away while sick.

Have a great day everyone.

Rhonda

Hi Everyone
Not much happening here.
Went to church this morning. Then out to eat. Went to Chedders. Had a grilled chicken dinner. Very good.
Then we came home. And son and hubby went Christmas shopping. I wasnt allowed to go. So I did a few odd and end jobs that needed done. Now son and hubby are at hubby's brother's. And son was kinda mad I didnt go. Told him. I have clothes in the dryer. And needed to do that first. And then I needed to wash his work jeans. So they are in the washer. So that has been my day.
Tomorrow. I need to go to Wal Mart and pick up a few things. My meeting isnt until the evening. So will get a couple of things done before I have to leave.
BEACHBUM So sorry to hear you still are not feeling good. Sure hope you get better soon.
TEJAS I havent gotten any decorating done either. The only thing I have done is got the tree up. I also need to do my Christmas cards. I decided this year I am not going to bake anything. Cause hubby and I dont need it. And if I bake it. We will eat it. I will have a piece of my Mom's homemade fruit cake. And I know hubby will have a couple of cookies. He has been pretty good about watching.
PATTYGIRL Sorry about your gain. Just try and drink more water.
ONTARGET hope you are having a great time with your play. and that is nice you are having students to come and see you. That is awesome.
Well I better get off here for now.
Need to go and check the dryer.
Hope everyone is doing ok.
Thinking of each of you.

Well, the curtain has fallen for the last time. I decided not to stay for the cast party and came home and had a low point meal instead. They weren't starting the party till over an hour after the play ended and I had a headache. I feel a little guilty about coming home. I know I'm going to miss everyone that was in the play--but I am glad it's over and we can get back to normal.

Rhonda, the gift you got Doyle sounds precious. What wonderful meaning! I know he'll be proud. I did all right shooting yesterday for not having trained much (the play). Tomorrow I'm going into "training mode."

Coco, I wonder what your guys bought you.

Maryann, one of our grands is suffering from severe sinusitis. She's even been throwing up. I hope you're feeling better.

Have a great evening.

:wave:Hi Ladies,

Well, I'll try this again. Started and couldn't get the lines to type right they kept wanting to skip to the next line in the middle. Had a fairly busy day. Church this morning and then baking this afternoon for our small groups Christmas party tonight. We had a lot of fun and I did excellent with the food which is really something for me. They always have food at the Sunday night meeting, but I never eat. However, with it being a party, I did have a tablespoon of cheese sauce and 4 corn chip scoops with 1/2 c of coffee. I just don't want to get in the habit of eating there.

Marryann - So sorry you're still feeling bad. You know it could be your sinuses. I know when mine acts up that it is just a nagging ache in that area. Hope you get to feeling better before the holidays. I'm re-thinking the flu shot because of my age and also because my DD tells me that while there are many kinds of flu and it doesn't cover all of them that it does protect you from many of them. I don't think it can hurt to get the pnuemonia shot either. I want to get the shot to protect from shingles, but insurance and medicare isn't covering it yet for some reason.

Rhonda - Never heard of that gift you got you hubby, but it does sound so neat. I got most of my Christmas cards mailed Friday. Have a few more to do as I got the addresses from some I received. I'll do my baking with the 2 (6 yrs & 10 yrs old) DGD when they get here next weekend. Their Mom and Step-dad are taking a 2 day trip and the girls and I will do our baking and have things done when they get back for Christmas Eve.

Coco - I love Cheddars, but we don't have one here. I weighed again this morning and was 1/2 lb up from where I was before I had the gain. So the meds and eating out may have caused the gain. You never know about the salt etc when you eat out.

Sandra - Glad things went well with your play and your tournament. Sounds like you need to relax now for a bit.

Gonna run for now and catch ya later.

Good Morning Ladies:)

Feeling a lot better, after taking Oil of Oregano that I purchased from the health store. Its something similar to Echincea [support for Healthy Immune System]. Don't think I need to go to the doctor,as a common cold or sinuses are some thing that has to take its course.

COCO-Have to go out this morning, I need to get my Christmas shopping done.Being that I stayed home over the weekend. Thanks:thanks: for you well wishes, as I posted above I feeling lot better.

SANDRA-Some how:shrug: I missed that you were in a play, how exciting. I'm sure you missed being with your friends in the play, but if your not feeling well, its better to have come home instead of the headache lingering and turning into some thing worse like a migraine. Sorry :sorry:about your grandchild suffering from the sinuses. A Child doesn't understand why they don't feel well, hope she better soon. Never heard of a stomach ache with sinuses, maybe she has a virus of some kind.

TRISH-You did great at that party by not eating.Congrats :carrot: for that. I'm going to watch myself for not overeating at my DD house this Christmas Don't want to get back to my highest reading on my tracker. Oh I decided not to bake cookies this year,as when I do I regret it after the New Year. I feeling better today and will get out to do some shopping.

Have to go will post later
