100 lb. Club - Newbie intro

Hey everyone!
I just registered today and thought I would say hi!
I came across this forum yesterday, a day that was pretty low for me and I'm thankful that I did. Like many of you, I've struggled with my weight nearly my entire life and nothing seems to make a difference. I'm now up to 262 lbs.- the heaviest I've ever been. I'm not even sure how it got this out of control, but there it is. I'm at the point where I try to do all my errands during off hours and in as few trips as possible. I live in a small town and the thought of running into people I know terrifies me, so I hide at home instead. It's gone far past the point of necessity for me to get some support with this. From lurking on this board I've read some incredible stories and I'm looking forward to chatting with you all!
Good luck on your individual goals!

Hi, Nixie! Welcome to a really great place. I'm pretty new too, only being here for 3 weeks. I have found this sit to be invaluable in staying on plan and making changes that have really worked.
This place isn't a bunch of skinny people (nothing wrong with them!!) giving diet advice that they've never tried or commiserating with you that they are "fat" when they have 5 lbs of chub around their middle to lose (not putting them down either! Wish I'd taken charge of this when I only had 5 lbs to lose!!) but people who have been where you are OR still are where you are and are here fighting the good fight right along with you!
Good luck to you. You've come to the right place.

Welcome Nixie! I know you are going to find this forum very supportive. I've been around for about 5-6 weeks. And I can honestly say I don't think I would've stuck to my diet w/out 3FC. For me it has kept the fact I'm changing my lifestyle right front and center. Everyday I come on here and discuss weight loss. I never "forget" I'm dieting, and everyday this site is the motivation I need to be successful the next day. So welcome! And I wish you the best of luck!

Welcome welcome!
I'm relatively new and have found this place to be a God send. Literally. I agree with Cfmama that it is a wonderful group of ladies and guys too (don't want to leave Zero out!)
I love hearing everyone's stories the good and the bad and seeing our tickers move and looking at before and after pictures and pretty much everything about here.
There is one downside to 3FC though. It makes it harder to get my homework done! (Hey how is it 11:00pm? I got on 3FC at 9:00!)

Nixie,
I am so glad you are here and I can identify with your feelings. A few months ago I was so there. First of all, YOU CAN DO THIS. Secondly, it is SO VERY worth it! You are among friends here that know your struggle. There is support here as well as answers and there is truly nothing weight related that isn't discussed. I have read advice on dating while you are overweight, girdles, destroying food so you don't dig it out of the trash, fat prejudiced, etc. It is all here and on the table so use it to your advantage. Welcome.

:wel3fc: Nixie! I was at my high weight a year ago. 3 fat chicks has really helped me stay on plan and lose this weight. Please stick around and post so you can get the support you need to take the weight off. You will feel so much better when the weight starts coming off. We're glad you are here!

You're taller than me...but you are pretty close to where I started.
Don't be afraid to ask questions - you'll get many opinions in return. :D
Do you have a plan in mind?

Hi chick in the hat!
I haven't figured out a plan yet, I'm leaning towards a modified version of the Abs Diet. It's a whole foods approach, and I've used it before with some success. I got away from it during some turmoil, but I think it's a good fit for me. I don't want to "diet," I want to learn how to eat in a way that I'll be able to maintain for a lifetime.
