Fitness Videos - Walk Away the Pounds - December Daily Check In

So I thought I'd start this month's off. How have you all been?
I feel like I haven't really checked in with you all since the beginning of November, but rest assured (haha) that I've been doing these vids either every day or every other day.
Today I purchased TWO 5-Day Slim Down DVDs--one for my sister and one for me--for Christmas.
I kinda slacked during Thanksgiving--all that lasagna, eating out, and pumpkin pie--but I'm still hovering around my 208/210 weight. Must be the metabolism working faster.
I bought the Turbo Jam set about a month ago, but I'm just not feeling the workouts as much as I do WATP DVDs. Maybe I just need more practice with the former. Who knows?
Either way, I did the 30-min DVD on Sunday and the WATW DVD on Thursday and Saturday (today). Good times!

I am checking in as well for this month,, last week i did the watp videos totalling 6miles..
today i did the 2mile:)

I took the weekend off -- for no really good reason, I just did. I figured that 4/7 isn't bad, right?? This week will probably be worse due to this wrteched work schedule -- 12 days straight with 30 hour call in the middle of it -- EVIL people.
Hope you all are having a great week. Day one down -- 11 to go in this lovely long work/school week.

I'm so glad you started the December thread Blackdove. Just wish I had been in here sooner. I did 2 miles on the 2nd and then it's been one thing after the other.
Somebody ran into the back of me and I wasn't hurt but I was sore so just didn't get in my walking. And then this weekend we had a Christmas Party at my house for the 11th and 12th grade girls and guys that we teach at church, so yesterday I was really dragging and did not get up in time to exercise before work.....
but this morning I got up early and did 3 miles using the new 5 mile Fat Burning Walk! :cp: It is 5 12 minute miles and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!! you can find it at amazon at

Hey Jayme - congrats on the 2 miles. I hope I do better this week along with you!
Zeta - you certainly deserve to take a weekend off! 4 out of 7 is AWESOME! what kind of job do you have that you work 12 days straight? wow! be sure to take your vitamins so you can get thru all of that ;)

I've been working out at the gym this week instead of walking with Leslie (mostly due to time constraints).
Cathy -- I'm a medical student, meaning I do whatever they tell me to do. This month's schedule is kinda whacked out because of Thanksgiving and Christmas (the rotation started 3 days before thanksgiving -- so we lost time). As a result, in order to get in all the days needed to count the rotation we've all gotta work through at least one weekend and this one's mine. It wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't a 30 hour period in the middle of it in which we can't leave the hospital (call days are NOT fun) -- BUT we have call rooms assigned, so there's places to sleep and whatnot.

Hi - I'm not sure what the thread is but I've recently started doing the WATP videos - is it miles tracked? I bought the 1/2/3 mile as well as Leslie You Can do Abs for the ball. I'm in a hotel this morning and did the 1 mile before I get the day going - can I play?

This weeks total has been 5 miles....although i havent been on to log on the miles every day.
Today i looked at my other WATP videos and decided to "TRY" the 4 mile express video,,, i made it thru the first 20minutes, which was a little over a mile. WOW,, this one goes really quick,, i was almost dizzy watching them hahah.. Glad i tried it,, i think its a bit much for me at this point (being 8months pregnant) but now i have something to work towards!!!

Jumping on board again if you ladies don't mind, was going to wait until January but I need to stay motivated thru the winter months when I get lazy. I don't do much of the Leslie Sansone's WATP during the summer but with it being cold out I have to resort to them so...will try to remember to post here daily. The plan today is to do the 3 mile Waist Sliming dvd, and the Sculpt & burn and then a short walk on the treadmill. I will post again later and post what I did do.

I've been trying to get my 3 yr old to bed earlier the past few weeks so it's kind of blowing my exercise routine at the moment (I usually do stuff at night). I'm going to try and wake up early, walk and then do another stretching dvd.
I did something really scary and signed up for a 1x a week boot camp class at 6am starting in Jan! It is only 1 hour but it should be interesting waking up at 5am to get ready.

I did the 3-mile yesterday, and the 3-mile again today. Well, sort of. I did the 2 mile and then walked in place for 15 min in the dark while waiting for my dd to fall asleep. (She likes me to be in the room). I'm sure the person living below us thinks we are weird...

The semester is finally over!!! YIPPEE!!! Two weeks without school! I'm so excited. I did the 4 mile Super Challenge DVD today and it was much harder than I remember. It definitely works more muscles than the elliptical trainer. I'm going to have to make sure to get in a least 4 miles worth of Leslie's videos weekly in the New Year in addition to my gym workouts.
I've decided to kinda take these two weeks off, since I finally get the chance to rest and be with my family. I'm still going to try and work in as much exercise as possible, but I'm not going to be anal about it. I'll be back to being super anal in the New Year.

I suck at updating you all! I'm loving the 5-day slim down DVD, but unfortunately I haven't been able to do it everyday. I've been visiting with friends, Christmas shopping, and trying to stay warm. Still hovering around my same weight, which makes me happy.
I highly doubt I'll be back before the holidays, so I just want to wish you all a merry christmas/happy new years/happy holiday season! You all keep me motivated, and the support of total strangers is quite lovely! Here's to 2009!

I just bought the 3 mile and 5 mile walks and I am sooo happy that I did! I just finished doing the 3 mile walk for the first time and I loved it! It wa a great workout and I love the people in the video, the music, etc. I really like how "real" people are used in the video people that have lost weight with this program. I have a hard time sticking with videos that are super intense and when everyone in them has a perfect body.
What is everyone's favorite video?!

Did the 5 mile today!
I have a question for the early risers, what time do you go to bed in order to wake up so early? Do you eat breakfast before walking or just drink water? I'm starting a class next week that begins at 6am so I'll need to wake up by 5am once a week. I usually wake up at around 8 or 9 am so this will be quite a change. :dizzy:

Liane - I go to bed at 10 pm to be able to get up at 5 when the alarm goes off. If I can possibly get to bed at 9 pm I wake up on my own at 5. I don't eat breakfast before walking - I just don't like having anything on my stomach when I walk, but if I did I would have a nutri grain bar or yogurt or fruit or something like that. But yes I drink water before getting started and then I drink while I'm walking too. let us know how it goes.

I need to start going to bed earlier! Yesterday I was too tired to exercise, I could have pushed myself but I didn't. Today I am going to try and tackle the 4 mile walk!

Finding the thread a little late, but I've been doing WATP's this week as well (have owned it for a while). Today I did the 2 mile 30 minute walk, I've walked a total of 9 miles the last 5 days. :running:

Hey OnlyWoman - I'm on the only woman in my house too. I am surrounded by dear hubby and 2 dear sons. I'm glad you found the thread and CONGRATS on walking 9 miles in 5 days! awesome!
2ndChance - were you able to tackle the 4 mile walk? you are doing really great!
I walked 3 miles this morning. I used the new 5 Mile Fat Burning Walk. I really love this dvd!

I was pleasantly surprised to find a thread devoted to Leslie Sansone WATP workouts. After very long absence from exercising, I thought I'd try the new 5 Mile Fat Burning dvd. After about 1/2 mile in, I realized that there was no way I could finish even 1 mile! I quickly dug up the 4 mile Super Challenge and was able to complete 3 miles of it. I know that I have done very little exercise this year (dealing with Rheumatoid Arthritis), but I was still surprised at how hard it was, lol!

I think sometimes we don't realize how much these walking workouts are doing for us, until we take a break from them and then try to do them - then we are like WOW - I must have really been in shape to do all of that! LOL I'm really glad that you were able to do 3 miles of the 4 mile super challenge. that is AWESOME!!!
I look forward to walking with you on here.
Tomorrow we'll be starting a new January walking thread - I cannot believe another month and another year has flown by again!!! WOW!
I hope to get in a walk tomorrow morning before going to my mom's for the day. I'll post it when I do.

I love the WATP videos I am wanting to start back with mine as my new years Promise to myself I have topped off over the 300 mark and Have decided to pull them out and dust them off. I hope this thread will cary into the new year and I hope I can join.

Well yesterday I was tired and ended up doing only one mile of the 4 mile super challenge.
I think today I will just do the 3 mile weight loss walk. It is a bit easier since it is slower paced and I am out of shape so I need a video that I can finish! Hopefully within a few months I will be able to do the 4 mile walk!
