Yesterday I bought a box of donuts (the soft Entenmanns kind that I love!) and proceeded to eat three of them. I told myself that I could keep the rest and just eat one a day and factor in the calories... I wolfed down two this morning. Since I just got recommitted, I knew that I couldn't co-exist with these donuts in my apartment. SO I chose my future new, healthy body over the donuts and I drowned them in water to make them gross and threw them away. I've NEVER done anything like that before. I always tell myself that I'll be "perfect" when the box of donuts, bag of chips or box of cookies are gone but I always give in. I guess you guys are rubbing off on me
Congrats on throwing out the donuts! I have done that before too. It always makes me think of the Sex in the City episode where Miranda actually poured dish soap over a chocolate cake b/c even after she threw it away she went to eat it out of the trash...lol. I know that I'm a weak person so if it's in the house I will want to eat it. I just try to not buy anything I'm tempted to binge on. Oh and the Entenmann's crumb top donuts are my favorite and I haven't had them in years b/c I know that if I bought a box I would devour it in no time at all....and then crash from my sugar high, get depressed and try to eat my way out of that. A vicious cycle I try not to get into.
i went grocery shopping today and the naughtiest thing i bought was some barrel aged feta cheese... i know, not that bad, but its my little salad indulgence.

Feta has lower calories than cheddar, mozarella, swiss...
GOOD JOB, HONEY! Water is the awesome destroyer of all things unhealthy. I use it to destroy bags of chips, hehe. I can't do that either... portion myself. Keep myself from continuing to eat junk when I know I'm not hungry. It's better for me to not keep junk in the house at all, because then I can't absent-mindedly snack.

oh my gosh, i love that episode.
i secretly love the whole sex & the city series. my old roommates and i watched the entire series, seasons 1-6 in chronological order the week before the movie came out. then we went to go see the movie at midnight on opening day.
I was going to ask you guys about the donuts last night while I wrestled with them but I knew what you all were going to say and I spent money on them!! But I came to the same conclusion myself. Ha!
I don't bring anything into my house that I know I can't resist. My husband has a really bad sweet tooth though and I know it's been rough on him. He was so kind the other night to go to the store and get a single serving of chocolate for himself so we wouldn't have it in the house. He then ate it in the car so I wouldn't have to see or smell it.
I also avoid the cafeteria at work. They have these awesome cream cheese fudgy brownies that are to die for but are like 1000 calories each. I know I won't resist and they would NOT go in the trash.
You have inspired me! I'm getting rid of all the junk in my house and going grocery shopping today. I need to start over and not kill myself with temptation. Why be so cruel to yourself, you know?
I have so been there before! Sometimes if I have something that I just can't resist, I take out to our big green trash can outside. I can't really reach into it & pull the stuff back out unless it's super full & it never smells good in there, so I wouldn't want to anyway. Good job!! I know it's hard, but you should be really proud of yourself for doing that!
Good for you! that's takes a lot of will power. Just goes to show how serious you are to the cause. :-) You'll be dropping those pounds really quick if you keep up that kind of attitude!
