Overeaters Anonymous - 5 Days Abstinent

I can't believe I am 5 days abstinent. My last binge went for 21 days and I didn't think it would ever stop. I gained 15 pounds and it was a nightmare.

My binge eating disorder was totally out of control. I am so blessed to be abstinent. I went to a different oa meeting last night and didn't like it.
You have to find one that feels right for you. I'm 27 so it's nice to be around some others your age. Every meeting is so different. Some are strong in recovery and some are all stuck in a rut. I think stuck in a rut is fine but at this stage of my recovery I need hope and need to hear recovery.

Nice job Spirit! This program is so totally ONE DAY AT A TIME. Stringing five days in a row is great work.

I know what you mean about some meetings having a better "vibe" than others. Just remember, a dull meeting is still probably better than no meeting at all.

courage, strength and hope that's what meetings are made of. My mtgs are all mixed with ages, men and women, short, fat, skinny, medium builds and others with more serious addictions. Thanks to my HP I'm not judged by anyone in OA.

Also agree with people's thoughts about meetings; how different they all are, how great it is when you find one that "fits"...
