Default Yo-Yo dieting! on the up yo and not the down.

My screename is Tavinni and I am a Yo-Yo dieter.

I have been gone from 3 fat chicks for a while, since I have regained 15 pounds!

I am angry and frustrated!

Simply said "I need help!". I need to get back on track and looking for support. Any suggestions on how to get back to weightloss happiness.

Also, I twisted my knee about a month ago. Exercising has been pretty tough. My knee buckled recently while I was on the elliptical and I almost fell off. If I wasn't exercising I have no idea how much weight I actually would weigh right now. Uh! I don't know what to do.

Me too, yo yo dieter. For me it's been going on extreme diets and then getting busy, cluttered and not tracking, then giving up for a time. Also it's emotional eating I'm thinking. Eating when stressed, and lots of food. I gained back 15-20 lbs, done this before. However a diet book I read that tracked those thin for life, said most of them yo yoed up and down before they finally changed habits for life, so according to the book it's not unusual. However I'm just irked, all the hard work down the tubes... starting over, new diet journal, when I track things it's when I do the best, when I stop I'm in trouble.

Honestly what worked best for me was to stop dieting.

I had to accept that "dieting" was a huge part of my problem. I was always "going on" a diet, "cheating" on my diet, "going off" my diet, "planning to" diet tomorrow.

Eventually I figured out that dieting doesn't work. I had to make a committed change to be healthier. I had to really look at what I eat and how I eat and decide that I wasn't going to do that any more.

And ultimately you just have to .. well ... do it. You have to make the decision to do it and then put that into action. You have to not put food in your mouth that is unhealthy or fattening. You have to make choices of what to eat and what not to eat.

It's not always easy, but it's worthwhile ... it really is.
